FL: McCain Crushes Obama By 23%

Saturday, May 31st, 2008

I could only find one new poll this morning, this Florida poll from some polling organization called War Room Logistics. The poll shows John McCain with a ridiculous 23% lead over Barack Obama.

PRESIDENT – FLORIDA (WRL)
John McCain (R) 58%
Barack Obama (D) 35%

The poll also shows only 38% of Democrats definitely voting for Obama with 27% of Democrats leaning towards voting for McCain. According to the article.

War Room logistics is a leading provider of market and political intelligence for corporations, media companies, and political organizations and campaigns utilizing IVR technology. Founded in 2007, WRL is located in Gainesville, FL.

This poll was done May 21-23 among 645 registered voters.

Friday Afternoon Polls

Friday, May 30th, 2008

Here are some polls to take with you into the weekend. Scott Rasmussen is out with a surprisingly close race in the state of Connecticut as John McCain is within 3% of Barack Obama.

PRESIDENT – CONNECTICUT
Barack Obama (D) 47%
John McCain (R) 44%

One would think that Joe Lieberman’s support of McCain has something to do with this. This poll was done May 29th among 500 likely voters. In Massachusetts, things are not quite as close in the Presidential race and it appears we will have to listen to 2004 loser John Kerry for six more years.

PRESIDENT – MASSACHUSETTS
Barack Obama (D) 51%
John McCain (R) 38%

US SENATE – MASSACHUSETTS
John Kerry (D-inc) 63%
Jim Ogonowski (R) 29%

John Kerry (D-inc) 63%
Jeff Beatty (R) 25%

This poll was done May 29th among 500 likely voters. Survey USA is out with another poll with their VP match ups, this time Wisconsin. In a straight head-to-head fight, Barack Obama leads McCain by 6%.

PRESIDENT – WISCONSIN
Barack Obama (D) 48%
John McCain (R) 42%

However, if Obama does not pick John Edwards, McCain makes this state competitive and in some cases, leads Barack Obama with various running mates of his own. This poll was done May 16-18 among 600 registered voters. This poll does move the state of Wisconsin into Barack Obama’s column in the Electoral College Watch. Finally, a new Elway Poll shows Obama ahead of McCain by 6%.

PRESIDENT – WASHINGTON STATE
Barack Obama (D) 44%
John McCain (R) 38%

This poll was done among 405 registered voters (no dates given in article).

Time for Happy Hour….

Open Thread Friday!

Friday, May 30th, 2008

This will be the first time I have ever asked people to donate to a charity through this website. The American Cancer Society is holding their annual Relay for Life on June 6th in Howard County and I have signed up to be a walker for the Howard County Republicans team on that night.

My goal is to raise $100 for the team (I put in $10 myself). Neither the Howard County Republicans nor myself will get a dime of the money – it all goes to the American Cancer Society. If you would like to, feel free to click my personal donation page here and submit a donation on my behalf for the team (you will be personally credited if you wish). Part of the donation, I believe, is tax-deductible as well….

By the way, for the local crowd who reads, the Relay will be at Hammond High School which, conveniently, is right down the street from Michael’s Pub where the Howard County Republican Club First Friday Happy Hour will be held on the same night. Get a drink and then join us for the walk afterwards….

Thanks in advance to anyone who donates to this worthy cause….

Talk about whatever you want….

CA: Obama Leads By 17%

Friday, May 30th, 2008

Following up on Scott Rasmussen throwing money down the toilet with his poll in new York, the folks who do the Field Poll have decided to waste money of their own and poll the state of California.

PRESIDENT – CALIFORNIA
Barack Obama (D) 52%
John McCain (R) 35%

This poll was done May 16-27 among 914 registered voters.

Here We Go Again

Friday, May 30th, 2008

Here we go again. Here is a video I found that even includes the introduction by the current leader of Barack Obama’s church of twenty years that shows this guy has been at this church before. Apparently this guy, even after his appearances at this church, was put on barack Obama’s campaign.

This video is being played over and over again on the morning news, even on the left-leaning Morning Joe. Hard to say anything that hasn’t already been said, but it still brings up the question that has not been answered – What on earth was Barack Obama doing in this church for 20 YEARS?! And why is he still a member of this church to this day? With all the people in that video jumping up and cheering what is being said (just as they were cheering for the racist Reverend Wright as well), how can anyone believe Barack Obama was completely unaware of what was going on in this church? Sorry, it is just not believable….

As Tucker Carlson pointed out this morning, either Barack Obama is a complete naive fool, truly believes what is being spouted in this church,…or, and what I truly believe, only joined this church for purely political reasons to advance his political career, which then makes him as big a political hack as many other politicians….

Also, does this continue to show how utterly inept the Hillary campaign truly was. If Hillary’s opposition research gang had gotten these videos out late last year, she might have already had the nomination wrapped up by this point and Barack Obama would have just been another flash-in-the-pan candidate who failed….

NY: Obama Ahead By 19%

Thursday, May 29th, 2008

Apparently Scott Rasmussen was somewhat bored yesterday.

PRESIDENT – NEW YORK
Barack Obama (D) 52%
John McCain (R) 33%

Hillary (D) 59%
John McCain (R) 29%

The only newsworthy item from this poll is that 50% of New York Democrats want Hillary to drop out of the race and more Democrats have a favorable opinion of Obama (62%) than have a favorable opinion of their own Senator (55%). This poll was done May 28th among 500 likely voters.

KS: Sebelius Doesn’t Give State To Obama

Thursday, May 29th, 2008

Another poll from Survey USA, this time from the state of Kansas. In a straight head-to-head match up, John McCain leads Barack Obama by double digits.

PRESIDENT – KANSAS
John McCain (R) 49%
Barack Obama (D) 39%

Now the results when potential VP’s are mixed in.

PRESIDENT – KANSAS

McCain/Huckabee 51%
Obama/Edwards 39%

McCain/Huckabee 50%
Obama/Sebelius 41%

McCain/Huckabee 54%
Obama/Rendell 30%

McCain/Huckabee 53%
Obama/Hagel 28%

McCain/Romney 48%
Obama/Edwards 39%

McCain/Romney 49%
Obama/Sebelius 38%

McCain/Romney 52%
Obama/Rendell 28%

McCain/Romney 51%
Obama/Hagel 29%

McCain/Pawlenty 43%
Obama/Edwards 41%

McCain/Pawlenty 45%
Obama/Sebelius 41%

McCain/Pawlenty 47%
Obama/Rendell 30%

McCain/Pawlenty 47%
Obama/Hagel 30%

McCain/Lieberman 47%
Obama/Edwards 39%

McCain/Lieberman 47%
Obama/Sebelius 40%

McCain/Lieberman 49%
Obama/Rendell 30%

McCain/Lieberman 49%
Obama/Hagel 31%

Interesting to see that Kathleen Sebelius doesn’t do much better, and in some cases worse, than John Edwards in her own home state of Kansas. This poll is starting to grow a little mold, being done May 16-18 among 600 registered voters.

MS: Democrats/GOP Each Lead One US Senate Race

Thursday, May 29th, 2008

There were a couple of polls done by leftist groups in recent weeks that showed Democrat Ronnie Musgrove with a lead over incumbent Republican US Senator Roger Wicker, which were dismissed due to the poll being commissioned by leftist groups.. Now we have another more non-partisan poll that shows Republicans might be on the verge of losing the US Senate seat in Mississippi.

US SENATE – MISSISSIPPI
Ronnie Musgrove (D) 47%
Roger Wicker (R-inc) 46%

The Republicans already lost his former Congressional seat after he was chosen to replace Trent Lott. At least the other US Senate seat from Mississippi appears to be safe for the GOP.

US SENATE – MISSISSIPPI
Thad Cochran (R-inc) 58%
Eric Fleming (D) 35%

Even John McCain is having more trouble than he should in Mississippi.

PRESIDENT – MISSISSIPPI
John McCain (R) 50%
Barack Obama (D) 44%

These polls were done May 27th among 500 likely voters. Things are better for the Republicans in Alabama as McCain and Republican US Senator Jeff Sessions are cruising to victory in November.

PRESIDENT – ALABAMA
John McCain (R) 60%
Barack Obama (D) 32%

US SENATE – ALABAMA
Jeff Sessions (R-inc) 62%
Vivian Figures (D) 29%

This poll was also done May 27th among 500 likely voters.

PR: Hillary Leads by 13%

Wednesday, May 28th, 2008

After using my limited Spanish skills to decipher this article, it appears to me that Hilary holds a double-digit lead over Barack Obama in next week’s primary in Puerto Rico in a new poll done for Univision.

PRESIDENT – PUERTO RICO – DEM PRIMARY
Hillary 51%
Barack Obama 38%

If Puerto Rico were given Electoral Votes in November, they would choose the Democratic candidate over John McCain by a 72%-10% margin. no dates for this poll were given in the article.

MI: Another Poll Shows McCain Beating Obama By 4%

Wednesday, May 28th, 2008

Following up on this morning’s poll from Survey USA that gave McCain a 4% lead over Obama in Michigan, a new poll from EPIC/MRA also shows McCain ahead of Obama in this must-win state for Obama.

PRESIDENT – MICHIGAN
John McCain (R) 44%
Barack Obama (D) 40%

However, unlike this morning’s poll, this poll shows a ticket of Obama/Hillary beating a ticket of McCain/Romney.

PRESIDENT – MICHIGAN
Obama/Hillary (D) 51%
McCain/Romney (R) 44%

The poll this morning showed McCain/Romney beating Obama/Hillary by 5%, a 12% difference between two polls that claim to be polling the same population. The poll this morning is the more recent of the two, so take that into account. this poll was done May 19-22 among 600 likely voters.
