NY23: Scozzafava Drops Out!
BREAKING NEWS from the New York Congressional race.
Dede Scozzafava, the Republican and Independence parties candidate, announced Saturday that she is suspending her campaign for the 23rd Congressional District and releasing all her supporters.
We also have this update from Twitter from Public Policy Polling.
With about 200 interviews down we had Hoffman 45 Owens 26 Scozzafava 17…her withdrawal will just make it that much easier for Hoffman
Of course this fouls up the Prediction contest, I guess we will limit the predictions to the VA and NJ races at this point….

Victory!
A lesson to the R establishment.
woohoo!!!!!
This is a HUGE grassroots victory.
Screw the DC elites.
WOW!!!!!!!
Great news. I soooooo happy that Hoffman decided to get in and make a stand. I am starting to believe that the GOP will FINALLY get the message. STOP THE THE SPENDING! STOP THE FEDERAL EXPANSION! WE CAN’T BE BOUGHT OFF BY GOVERNMENT PROGRAMS!!
Dave,
Concerning the Prediction Contest.
You can’t be like the Dems in 2000 and change the rules. Too bad for those individuals that have already voted….Should have waited until later.
Off to the Harmen event soon.
#6
This is why I hate the early voting which turns into election month instead of election day. Plus, so much cheating can happen with mail ballots.
I am sure the plants and Kossites are not hzppy.
Tapper is now posting that the White House is ready to lose all three races next month.
(H/T William Amos)
Big, big news. I am going to steal some thunder from Cam Rep and report the msm spin first:
Anti-Obama racists force “good” Republican to withdrawal
MD, from the other thread, concur, Newt has morphed into Peggy Noonan.
If the GOP wins all three (which it looks like it will happen since Christie has turned things around with that brilliant interview with Imus), so buh-bye to HC reform. The BlueFrauds (credit to MFG) will be running scared for their political life. This is such a great day.
There was a note about a VA state senator who in my opinion ranks about a 85 on conservative scale being attacked for being a Dede. That’s what crazy to me. Dede was like a 20 on the conservative scale.
To me she was way too far left. A 80 on a scale of a 100 is okay.
HD,
Need a link to that one bro.
(From below)
Perhaps we could use this thread to amend our NY23 prediction.
Here is mine:
Hoffman 51
Owens 39
DeDe 10
RINO’s will change their voting records now. As will Blue Dogs.
Political survival will take precedence over party ideology.
Rumor is they have to dump a lot of $$$ into CA 10. Garamendi was soundly beaten in the last debate. The water situation may be a sleeper issue in parts of this district (Its a weird district since it includes several different counties).
I will report later on it – after Harmen’s rally.
Vt. Dems rally for NY congressional race
SATURDAY, OCTOBER 31, 2009
PLATTSBURGH, N.Y. (AP) — Vermont Democrats are organizing to help their New York counterparts get out the vote in a special congressional election.
Voters in northeastern New York’s 23rd congressional district go to the polls Tuesday in a special off-year election that’s drawing national attention. The race pits Democrat Bill Owens against Republican Dede Scozzafava and Conservative Party candidate Doug Hoffman.
Vermont Democratic Party Chairwoman Judy Bevans is asking her state party members to take part in a get-out-the-vote effort on Sunday.
They’ll be taking the 9:23 a.m. ferry from Grand Isle across Lake Champlain to the district where they’ll join their New York counterparts in going door-to-door.
Gosh,
Who was the first prominent member of the GOP to throw support to Hoffman?
None other than the new King Maker of the GOP – Sarah Palin!!!!!!
Palin power baby!
Concur, the Rinos will stink their arses into the air, to see where’s its blowing. Rmember, Newt and other Rinos wanted a deal with the Obumbler. The R party is stronger now for standing on principles, not compromising them.
#12
Of for God’s sake, let it go. You remind me of the people who constantly criticize Rush. Noonan is a political commentator/writer. She is not an official of the GOP or any party. You don’t like her opinions. DON’T READ HER COLUMNS. Besides, I don’t know why you are so upset with Noonan.
“Scozzafava Campaign Sunk by Homophobic, Racist Astroturfers”
#8, I agree, i hate early voter. If you can’t vote between 6 am to 7 pm, then you don’t want to vote. Also, if you have a good excuse, (illness, out-of-town, working, etc), you can get an absentee ballot without any trouble.
I will be happy that Corzine loses, then in 2010, we target Reid and the PA turncoat. I will freely donate to campaigns to defeat thosecampaings.
Noonan needs to do a LOT more atoning to make up for the apostasy of supporting Obama in 2008. Just disgusting.
#12, Newt has lost any chance of getting the 2012 Presidential Nod.
Tina,
This Newt is a pale imitation of the 94 Newt who was a revolutionary. I guess Newt wants invites to the hoody doodies cocktail parties.
Palin is the new leader of this party!!!!!
The mediaconartists and the Rinos tried to sabotage the R party and make it more moderate. That is support guvment spending, deficits, higher taxes, and Obamacare.
Tina:
Spector is #1 on list to beat.
#25–
Indeed. Specter’s defeat would indeed be the sweetest of them all next year.
#20
Why not Dick Armey power? I mean Dick Armey was key in organizing the Tea Parties, the march on Washington. Why not Santorum power? Actually, why not Pataki power? I think Pataki had more to do with Scozza dropping out. He is powerful in NY GOP circles. He is a moderate on social issues. If Dede couldn’t get Pataki to support her, all was lost. Trying to give credit to Palin is just silly.
The sad thing is that the R party may want Newt as the next challenger to the Obumbler.
WE have fired the first shot against Flim Flam Fraud, Scarfarce, Peggy Noonan, and the other mediaconartists.
Mark Levin was the first radio host to have him on his show. He has 8 to 10 million listeners. Other conservative hosts followed.
Newt’s 3 marriages pretty much barred him from that. He actually makes Bill Clinton’s personal life look virtuous by comparison.
The system works! Wonders never cease.
Arlene Spectacle needs to be taken out. He is the prime example as to why the Rs got into so much trouble…
#27
Does anybody here think that Newt was ever viable for 2012. Sorry. Way too much baggage. Besides, he is so damn unpredictable. Last year, he made some noise about running and nobody stood up to start a let’s draft Newt movement. He is done. Finished.
Tina,
I will be my house and kids that Newt will NOT be the GOP nominee.
I warned about Newt when he wanted to make a deal on healthcare with Hillary (by running the ads with her) in early 2009. He is bad news for the party, a relic.
He is in luv with himself, that he can not articulate himself out of a paper bag.
Now, we just need to Win NJ. Did we ever have a chance in CA10?
Palin is definitely the King Maker. Watch how many House candidates, especially those who are contesting blue dog incumbents, use her.
Ah revenge is sweet!!!!!!
David Frum said that Hoffman was a better fit for NY 23 than Scozza. He was very critical of the NY GOP. I wish people here would ACTUALLY get informed instead of sloganeering.
The establishment Rs – those that are the true country clubbers; the media con artists, want Newt to run, b/c they know he will lose.
For 2010 and 2012, we need to declare total war on the Ds as well as the media conartists, Scarfarce, Flim Flam Fraud, Noonan, and the other Obamites.
Specter’s defeat would indeed be the sweetest of them all next year.
Comment by Cam Rep — October 31, 2009 @ 11:24 am
Reid too.
And both are going down.
Hoffman is leading 55-40 on InTrades now…whatever that means.
#42
Oh yes, McDonnell and Christie will be campaigning with Palin at their side this weekend. Oh wait, they didn’t invite the new king makers.
Tina,
I actually think Newt is extremely articulate. It is just that he has been extremely wrong for the last couple of years.
What a great, great, great, day for conservatives.
Let’s not overboard though. NY 23 was a unique set of circumstances.
CA 10 may surprise that it will be closer than anyone predicts. I am going to the Harmen event. Its too bad that he is not running for CA Governor. Moonbeam, the sole D, is beatable. But we have Meg Whitman, Poizner, and others, who supported Ds at one time or another.
Whitman is the female version of Schwarznkennedy minus the steriod abuse.
So now expressing your opinion as an opinion writer makes you a con artist. So much BS. So much sloganeering. I thought in this country we were free to express our opinion. No better to be a sheep.
Any my lithmus test for supporting Rs will and continue to be:
Smaller Government
Lower taxes/tax reform.
Secure the Border.
No social benefits to illegals.
Notice: Social issues, where are they?
But I am a “Socon.”
Tina:
Don’t take this personally….glad I live in Virginia and not CA.
My point is that do not claim to be a conservative if all you do is advcate bigger government – see FFF and Scarfarce. You are not conservative, but a fraud.
Dede said the money dried up big time.
hehe
Care to guess who donates it?
Hint: It isn’t pro-ACORN people.
A New York Republican running in upstate NY that can’t get Pataki’s endorsement is not going to win. Scozza got the message. Pataki Power!!!!!
David,
Once I retire from the guvment – perhaps as soon as 1/1/10- I will likely relocate to TX with my six weapons, my cat, and my tvs.
CA is so screwed, the Ds control the legislative branch and aided and abetted by Schwarznkennedy.
When Moonbeam wins, the whole thing will just collapse.
Good for you…..CA will probably have a law by then, forcing to give up some of your retirement money to CA even if you live in another state
The fact that the GOP is within 10 in Cal 10 is truly an amazing story in itself. Sort of dwarfed by the other races and I can see why of course. The GOP has no chance here. Let’s face it, it’s the San Francisco area. However, it’s encouraging that the GOP may get 40 to 42% of the vote here and carry indies. Gives you an idea of the lay of the land in America these days.
Dede to endorse Hoffman:
http://rsmccain.blogspot.com/2009/10/ny23-scozzafava-quits.html

Comment by MD (form Mdefl) — October 31, 2009 @
Exactly – many thoght she was foolish for getting involved- as will be the case for some time to come, she gets the last laugh
Scaroborough is a conservative. He was critical of the federal spending BEFORE it was fashionable to criticize Bush in Republican circles. Just because he doesn’t get on TV and repeats over and over Obama-bad, Obama-bad, doesn’t mean he is not a conservative.
Palin changed the face of the HC debate and now she has changed the NY 23 race. Wow!
Tina, Did you see this?
http://www.latimes.com/business/la-fi-state-tax31-2009oct31,0,2028140.story
If you can’t get Pataki to back you when running in upstate New York as a Republican, it is over. Scozza knew that and to her credit got out.
All I know is that my taxes went up thanks to Schwarznkennedy. He acted like a conservative for 1 or 2 years, but became the Grand Steroid Rino later on.
With that, the tax rate is now 11 percent; the sales tax rate went up; the car tax tripled.
And now, they are taking an extra 10 percent withholding on 11/1.
I said to myself, it is just about time to retire, and head south.
Dede endorsing Hoffman? WOW.
Once I retire from the guvment – perhaps as soon as 1/1/10- I will likely relocate to TX with my six weapons, my cat, and my tvs.

Tina,
I like your litmus tests but have to add 1 socon item:
Partial Birth Murder
I am sorry but I cannot condone or welcome someone that is OK with murdering a baby who could survive outside the womb. No matter what you think about early term abortion, that my friends is murder pure and simple. I don’t want to be in the same party as them.
Scarfarce is a non factor. HE has really low ratings and sold 10 books.
Tina,
Palin has sold millions of books!
Mdefl, I would add that one too.
Remember, I would shut down the Departments of No Energy and Education (anything Carter needs to be immediately taken care of).
With regards to Palin campaigning for candidates, of course she isn’t going to be welcome to campaign for candidates in liberal NJ.
All I know is that Perry will be happy to have her down here stumping for him. KBH would love to have her down campaigning for her. And it’s not just the Republican primary. She will be big in the general down here. She’s very popular in Texas with independents as well.
Depends on the region.
Palin’s book is $8.98 at walmart.com and target.com. They offer free shipping.
#51
Scarborough meets them all. And so do many that are called RINOs.
Palin definitely has a place in the Republican party, and I think she will take the next couple years to figure out who it is. My guess is that if Palin had her choice for the GOP nomination in 2012 (assuming she doesn’t run herself), it would be Rick Perry. Palin and Perry are tight. Of course I don’t know if Perry would consider running on a national ticket. He seems to like staying in Texas.
The only thing is – do I retire then, or wait one or so years. Its getting harder since everything is falling apart in my line of work…
Come on down Tina. We have plenty of room – but hurry, we’re filling up fast.
#73
Why wasn’t she invited in VA? Anyway, I can’t wait to see how she does during her book tour.
Tina in 2012!
Hd, thanks, I noted that in my list against Schwarznkennedy.
Guys,
Since the price cut I have ordered 20 more copies of Palin’s book on top of the 12 I already ordered. It is going to be fun to give then as Christmas gifts. I just found out that 2 of my con friends who I was going to give it to have ordered multiple copies as well.
Palin is more powerful now, than she was as AK Governor. I said that her political career (for office) is likely finished. That could have been one of the times that I was wrong here.
She needs to scorched the media cons next.
They must be taken out because they are the enemy within.
MD remember I wrote about them at the RP site years ago.
And the media cons articulate nothing conservaitve. I would add Snobconovich too my list.
Palin can stump for Murtha’s opponent in PA. It is the perfect spot for her. Revenge is ours my friend.
I expect her to run in 16 if Skippy is re-elected. 12 does not make sense for a lot of reasons. We will need her to be stumping for Senate candidates so we can take control of that in 12.
Relax Chek. Palin isn’t running for the GOP nomination.
As far as Va goes, Northern Va isn’t much different than the NJ suburbs, In fact, in many ways it’s more liberal in that it’s loaded with govt bureaucrats. Of course she isn’t campaigning in Va. Obama actually ran BETTER in the Washington suburbs than in NJ.
http://www.nbcbayarea.com/news/politics/Barracuda-Chews-Up-Soft-Mittens.html
Well its off to walmart for weed killer again for the garden, a quick breafasst; and then Campain Harmen – CA 10.
MD I agree. Partial birth abortion is a litmus test.
McDonnell is running a great campaign in Virginia, and part of the reason is he is focusing on taxes, transportation, etc, and not focusing so much on the social issues. Josh Penry is doing the same thing out here in Colorado, and in my opinion he goes on to defeat Ritter.
On another note out here, I was hoping for Ryan Frazier to end up in the Senate out here, but he ended up switching to run for the House in CO CD-7. I am warming to the idea. In a GOP tide, Frazier defeats Perlmutter and he’s able to wait in the wings to challenge Udall in 2014. Frazier and Penry both are rising stars in the GOP.
Have a lovely Saturday.
Republican County Chairmen Start Lining up Behind Hoffman
TCOTREPORT
Tina,
You are correct. As gov of Alaska, she had to fend off those frivilous lawsuits by that lunatic and the courts were not even going to allow her to get money for her defense. Can you imagine the Gov of Alaska was going to have to use a public defender in the end.
Now, as a multi-millionaire and unconstrained that that office, she can gain revenge. If I were that idiot blogger, I would seriously consider leaving the country. She should file 50 lawsuits against him and then go after the msm.
HD,
Do you have the link to the Tapper report stating that the Obama Marxists are preparing to lose all 3 next week? Can’t find it.
Frankly, I was surprised that Perry didn’t try to go to the US Senate. He seems happy to stay in Texas. There have been rumors for years that he was gay. Maybe he can’t make it on a national level.

Hoffman up 66 vs 30 now on InTrades
Recognizing that a two-candidate race increased the chances that Republicans would hold on to the seat, a senior Democrat said the party will work to get Scozzafava to endorse Owens in an attempt to pick up some of her moderate supporters.
“If we don’t get her on board we lose,” said the Democrat.

Ken Spain, a spokesman for the National Republican Congressional Committee, said Scozzafava is releasing supporters to vote for Hoffman.
Newt Allegedly just endorsed Hoffman? Has anybody heard this?
AWESOME NEWS!!!!
Man, i am stoked! Finally she did something to help conservatives.
124- Guess she wants to keep her day job.
“According to KOS commentators, they have us right where the want us.”
—
When does KOS every NOT think that?
126 Kos and think dont belong in the same sentence. While I believe most center left people usually aren’t that bad, the far left is full of fruits and nuts.
Tina, Tina, Tina! While I ordinarily agree with you on this board, you are SO wrong about Newt Gingrich! He is NOT a “RINO”! He is still a very solid conservative leader, and perhaps the smartest thinker we have. He is not anything close to the haughty Peggy Noonan! In NY23, Newt was just a bit short-sighted in his endorsement of Dede. He was attempting to be a Reagen “Big Tent” Republican, and he (initially) saw Hoffman as a spoiler who would enable Nancy Pelosi to gain one more supporting member in Congress. In Newt’s defense, hardly anyone could have foreseen what Doug Hoffman has done!
I’d also like to express my agreement with Chekote. While Sarah Palin certainly gave Hoffman the most important endorsement, it was Pataki’s endorsement that “broke the camel’s back” and forced Dede to concede. Pataki deserves real credit here, and he’s just really helped himself with conservatives, should he choose to further his political career.
This race is not over, however! There are reports that Dede will endorse Hoffman now, but has she yet? If she does, Hoffman will win easily. But I’m still queezy that Dede could be bitter — and end up endorsing Owens! There’s also the problem of those idiot “straight party” voters who never look at who they’re voting for, but instead just pull the “Republican lever” (or the “Democrat lever”). These idiots could unconciously cast a lot of wasted votes for Dede, instead of Hoffman.
But in summary: STOP the “Newt is a RINO” silliness!
99- Spin machine about to go into overdrive.
You folks should make new predicitions for NY 23. Mine is is #16 above.
“hardly anyone could have foreseen what Doug Hoffman has done!”

Marv,
Hoffman 52%
Owens 37%
Dede 10%
Unbelievable that Hoffman will win by a larger margin than McDonnell in my opinion.
Hopefully, the CFG has one more poll out.
Palin Power
http://www.poligazette.com/2009/10/27/palin-power-in-action/comment-page-1/
Oh wow. Sleep in late on a Saturday and the world changes.
I am willing to accept my prior prediction because rules are rules, but if Dave is willing to accept updates here is my updated NY-23 prediction:
Hoffman-55
Owens-42
I strongly suspect that DeDe will endorse Hoffman. You better believe she is one bitter woman today, but if she is going to have any future at all as a republican even on the local level (where she has had success…she is an elected official after all), she knows she has to either endorse Hoffman or be silent.
If she endorses Owens, her political career is over. It’s likely over anyway, but this move would finish it for certain.
As for Frum, while Chek is right that in the end Frum did endorse Hoffman, the GOP got into this mess in the first place by following Frum’s so-called advice! Thus I find Frum to be disengenous at best.
-Polaris
chek, i hope you don’t mind us having a little fun at your expense…
AIN and Chek
Scozza was going to have to do this with or without Pataki.
Fact is people all over, and many on this board thought Palin was crazy to be injecting herself into this race, as she would look like an idiot if Hoffman lost. What could she possibly be thinking. Now that Hoffman is going to win, people are trying to say Palin really had very little to do with it.
I think chek is a Fox.
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/The_Fox_and_the_Grapes
Hoffman 53%
Owens 42%
Dede 5% (early votes, etc)
I also think this wouldnt come to pass if CFG didnt provide some early financial backing to Hoffman when few believed in his candidacy
#139 Polaris,
I think that amended predictions are acceptable because the voting closes at 1900 EST Sunday. Even our legislators can change their votes up until the time the vote is closed. (’Horns over T Boone’s team by alot today)
upset special- Iowa ranked 4th or so looks like will lose to Indiana.
#133 KnighHawk,
Very good question. My instinct is that there will be a marginal effect in favor of Christie due the developments in NY23. Certainly, the conservatives in NJ will be stoked by this.
We all agreed yesterday that the political races are frozen (Halloween, World Series, NFL) and that barring a serious development, the opinions of voters have solidified by now. DeDe dropping out in NY23 is a serious development and will have a decisive impact in NY and some impact at the margins in NJ and VA.
Anyone else have an opinion?
GPO,
You’re right about CFG, but I still think that “Carribou Barbie” who is an ignoramous that knows nothing, can’t count to 20 without taking off her shoes, drags her knuckes, and belches loudly at the dinner table….but looks hot when hunting, deserves the big credit here….isn’t that right Chek?
Funny how such an ignorant incompetant ignormaous like Carribou Barbie could see something politically and act on it, when the rest of the GOP could not. Isn’t that right Chek?
My point is CHEK give the lady her due and admit that perhaps, just perhaps you’ve done Gov Palin a disservice.
-Polaris
Polaris,
Check out KnightHawk’s question in #133.
#133 It might inspire conservatives but they are about as common as Hen’s teeth in NJ these days. I expect the other main effect will be to body-slam Daggett’s fading campaign.
-Polaris
Finally! Now Hoffman has a clear shot to pick up the seat.
#147 Marv, I feel the same way, it’s a late shot in the arm for turn-out, and may make another percent rethink their 3rd party vote. Maybe Chubby in a squeaker after all.
#151 I now expect Hoffman to win by double-digits since he is the “republican” candidate in a very conservative district and has all the momentum behind him.
-Polaris
My point is CHEK give the lady her due and admit that perhaps, just perhaps you’ve done Gov Palin a disservice.-Polaris
Yeah Chek, man up !
So we’re debating Sarah Palin again? Will this never end?
#155 Wes,
Probably not, Sarah is a contender for 2012.
Nate Silver says Owens has a chance! LOL
Will this never end?-
WES
wes, toss us up some hot babes !
We don’t even know she’s interested, Marv.
The GOP held this seat with 65% of the vote in both Democratic wave yrs of 06 and 08. Hoffman will win by 11-15 points. One Dem operative told Politico that unless Dems could convince DeDe to endorse Owens, they would certainly lose.
No, we are not debating Sarah Palin, just giving her due credit.
And if it pisses off Palin haters, so much he better.
Newt has shown up at the party.
http://politicalticker.blogs.cnn.com/2009/10/31/gingrich-endorses-hoffman/
#157 Nate Silver is whistling in the dark. Owens has no chance as a moderate Dem in a conservative republican district.
-Polaris
Oh wait, Silver says Owens has a chance? Make it a toss up then.
However, Silver did call the Minn senate “recount”
Here you go, Tim:
http://streetknowledge.files.wordpress.com/2008/04/vida-guerra.jpg
A muy caliente latina to start the afternoon.
Marv — I agree with you that there probably will be a mild spill-over effect to the NJ and VA races in favor of the R candidates. In the case of NJ, Christie needs any decimal points he can get!
Regarding the Palin effect, she definitely had one in the NY-23 race. Unfortunately, though, her effect seems to suffocate the other endorsements that came in prior to hers (Thompson, Dick Armory etc.) and those who walked the political tightrope soon after hers (Pawlenty, DeMint). I also think that Pataki’s endorsement was significant. New Yorkers would be swayed more by his support than they would be by Palin’s facebook’s comments.
For me, while I have backed Palin 100%, from the get-go, I am getting more curious by the day as to why she is communicating through the written word, on Facebook, Twitter, and a new book, rather than coming out in the open and publicly barnstorming for people and principles.
It is starting to remind me a little of the Wizard who always hid behind the curtain in Oz, deriving power by simply pulling levers rather than really going out and working his kingdom. While I like and am a kindred spirit with Palin’s positions, I am starting to get a little restless with her political seclusion, while seemingly reaping more rewards than those, who already hold office, are putting their political reputations on the line by going against the GOP grain to endorse Hoffman.
#160 That’s not gonna happen. If DeDe after being called a DIABLO endorses Owens at this point, her career as a republican (or any) politican at ANY level is kapput and she has to know it.
She might not endorse anyone if she if bitter enough, but the one person I can assure you she won’t endorse is Owens.
-Polaris
Silver says Owens has a chance? Hoffman should withdraw today.
Had it not been for all the flagrant fraud in that one, Phil, then Silver would have been dead wrong. Among legitimate votes, he certainly was.
#159 Wes,
Sarah is young. I’d suggest that she run against Begich in 2014, that would set her up nicely for 2020.
Phil,
Yes he did, but the Minn “recount” was not random. The people at Powerline were concerned the ‘fix’ was in when the first ballots were “found” in cars. Also Minn is not NY-23 by a long mark.

Unless Dede wants to be primaried out of her seat, she won’t go anywhere near endorsing Owens.
I’ve been saying that all along, Marv. Her legion of fanboys on here seem to think 2012 is her year though. I find that highly unlikely. On the other hand, if Begich is forced to resign because of the curent scandal surrounding him, then a 2014 run against him would be moot anyway.
http://publicpolicypolling.blogspot.com/2009/10/ny-23-polling-odyssey.html
“So this morning around 10 AM I started up our NY-23 poll and after a few hundred interviews it appeared that Doug Hoffman was now running away with it-unweighted numbers showed him at 45% to 26% for Bill Owens and 17% for Dede Scozzafava.
Then came the news that Scozzafava was suspending her campaign. My first inclination was to just keep running the poll as is, but I stopped it and thought about it, and now for the rest of the weekend the first question will still provide Scozzafava as an option but also note that she’s suspended her campaign, although her name will still be on the ballot.
I’m not going to throw away the first set of interviews, but we’ll provide a crosstab for when people got surveyed. I expect Hoffman will win easily now, but if our early numbers were any indication what Scozzafava did doesn’t make much difference- he was going to win easily with or without her in the race.
I should also note that the poll included two way races between all three of the candidates as well so we will have full straight up Owens-Hoffman data for whatever that’s worth.
More excitement so far today than I might have been anticipating!”
This woman almost makes me wish I were a Brit:

In short, Hoffman’s damn near a lock at this point. Thank God!
Palin will never run for Alaska senate seat. It is too small a stage for her.
She is a national figure with national impact.
The Palin haters will learn to accept that.
#174 Wes,
If Begich is snagged in a corruption scandal, his seat is hers. Gov Parnell will most certainly appoint her if she wants it.
Yeah, Palin appointed to the senate would be sweet.
He can’t, Marv. Under Alaska law, Parnell has to appoint a Dem to replace Begich.
Guys, NJ is the one outstanding race to be settled. Anxious to see what PPP has Monday morning.
Carville’s numbers worry me some.
Sam, you sound like the Huckabee supporters of last year. How’d that work out?
#178 sam,
A Senate seat from any state provides a great national platform. She will be in the news every day.
I know, it’s Carville and Greenberg – still 5 pts is a lot.
#181 Wes
Dang it!
I forgot about the Alaska law.
Wes,
You sound like the same Palin-hater you always are.
That law can be changed, Marv, but they’d have to wait till after next year’s elections when the GOP is likely to have an outright majority in the State Senate as opposed to the even split that exists now.
I’m not even going to address Sam the troll after that remark.
f u too
Where the brooms at?
Can you say SWEEP next Tuesday…???
So basically, Phil and Marv, the worst thing for Palin assuming she wants the Senate seat would be for Begich to resign right now. Parnell would have to appoint a Dem and set a special election. Palin could run in the special election, but this close to her resignation as Governor it’s unclear she would have a clear field in the primary although the Republican who ultimately wins the nod would be the clear favorite in the special.
Phil,
It’s not just that. Carville is a big Corzine donor. Never trust a poll that is conducted by the same person that is active in the campaign of one of the people that he’s polling about. Never.
-Polaris
Further, we come back to the same thing I’ve been saying all along:
WE DON’T EVEN KNOW IF PALIN’S INTERESTED IN HOLDING ELECTIVE OFFICE AGAIN.
That’s a big question mark to have beside the name of someone half the people on here have already anointed as either the next President of the United States or the next Senator from Alaska.
#195 Wes, I think you are exaggerating.
I have no idea of Palin wants to run for anything, but she doesn’t have to decide immediately either.
One thing she has proven herself to be is a GOP king-maker and that means she has much more influence and ability to shine than she ever did as governor of AK.
-Polaris
#192 MFG
Yes sir! After Tuesday’s election, the submarine USS GOP will have a broom atop its conning tower as it returns from its cruise. (You World War II history buffs will know what that means. I’m sure that Polaris knows and Wes….go ask Mrs. Wes what a broom atop a submarine means.)
HD,
Thanks for the link bro.
I never said she did, Polaris, but almost all the non-liberal guys on the HHR have her as a lock for the GOP nod in 2012. Current polling, however, does not bear that out. Others have her taking Begich’s seat. Well, as I pointed out above, that’s not guaranteed either. Personally while I don’t KNOW, I tend to believe Palin is happy making money and endorsing candidates. Barring some major shift on her part, I’d be immensely shocked if Palin ever seeks elective office again. To paraphrase Rush: She probably wouldn’t want the paycut.
“So we’re debating Sarah Palin again? Will this never end?” -Wes
—
Apparently yesterday was debate Bush day, and today Palin.
I don’t like diet coke, but if that is the prize for trying one, count me in.
Actually Polaris, I am cautiously optimistic about NJ. The only thing I worry about is Daggett collapsing any more than he has. Ras shows that he now has three Democrats as supporters for every one Republican. We’ve already pulled our Republicans away from Daggett.
135 = classic!
Palin has played things very well since resigning as Governor and showed excellent political instincts
Picking the “death panels” fight was absolutely the right thing to do, and the early endorsement of Hoffman was very well played
Seems to me we have a very sharp cookie here
Wes, I think you are dead right about Palin not seeking public office. She’s making and gonna make a pile of money outside of public office.
138 – Tim V,
Thanks for that link Bud – says it all.
Thanks, Phil. Fanboys like Sam equate what I’m saying with hating Palin, but I’d like anyone to point out one thing I’ve said about Sarah Palin that indicates any vitriol I have toward her.
NY-23 Siena Poll Bad News for Owens
http://www.pollster.com/blogs/ny23_siena_poll_bad_news_for_o.php#comments
This is a quick note on the new Siena poll in light of Scozzafava dropping out.
Can Owens pick up from Scozzafava supporters? Not so likely given these poll results.
Owens Fav/Unfav among Scozzafava suppporters: 19/50
Hoffman Fav/Unfav among Scozzafava supporters: 15/57
Looks like a wash with many likely to skip the choice of two disliked alternatives.
And the worse news for Owens is among independents:
Ind. Fav/Unfav Owens: 39/47
Ind. Fav/Unfav Hoffman: 47/33
128. I agree Newt should not be judged on this one endorsement, especially since I took took the same position he did which was to support the candidate that was ahead rather than give the Dems the seat. Newt is a conservative and a valuable asset to the party. Btw he has now endorsed Hoffman.
That looks extremely favorable to Hoffman, Tommy.
Anyone see RAS this morning? Obama at 46/52. A month ago this would be an outlier. He’s now been at less than 48 for the last 7 or 8 days. Frank says we’ve reached a lower level.
That’s the good news. The bad news is it can’t get much lower since he has that bedrock 98% of blacks and he’d have to fall below 40% among whites. Those are hope and change whites and not likely tobe movable outside of something truly earth shattering – like committing rape on national tv. Even then the MSM would spin even that somehow.
Newt’s a party man, and his major concern was keeping that seat out of Dem hands. I have no problem with what he did. Remember, Newt also did this before the massive hemorrhaging Scozzafava was experiencing really became known. All’s forgiven now. Dede’s out of the race, and Hoffman is nearly guaranteed to win at this point.
I would say it’s not out of the realm of possibility for Obama to fall below 40% with whites, Phil. Also, there’s a potential of some bleedoff among latinos as their jobs become endangered. If he drops to around 60% with them, then he’s in deep trouble.
Newt was indeed endorsing DeDe for strategic purposes.
Wes,
Moran Atais ranks up there with Sofia:
http://www.uncoached.com/wp-content/uploads/2009/04/moran-atias.jpg
http://www.rottingtelevision.com/wp-content/uploads/2009/09/MoranAtias2-vi.jpg
http://filmonic.com/wp-content/uploads/2007/11/moran-atias-2.jpg
Wes, thing is, Obama has the media shilling for him 24-7. That in itself keeps him from having the nosedive he deserves among white voters. Hispanics? Yeah, there is room for some decline there.
Agreed, MD!!!!
It won’t last forever, Phil. As the economy declines further, so will Obama.
Check this out, MD.
http://www.wallpapergate.com/data/media/149/Patricia_Velasquez_001.jpg
A conservative does not do a commercial with Nancy Piglosi that basically encouraged her to push through Crap and Tax.
The Newt of 2009 is not the Newt of 1994. He is more interested in being invited to the fancy cocktail parties.
I loved Newt and I want to continue to do so, however he seems intent on giving me every reason to renounce him.
Hoffman up to 70 in Intrade. Corzine and Christie still 60-40.
Wanna get rich? Buy Deeds at 3 that’s over 30-1 if he wins…
Very nice Wes. If you have on-Demand and subscribe to Starz, check out Crash. Moran is one of the stars. The pictures don’t do her justice.
#219 MD
You can’t renounce Newt now that he’s gotten his mind right on NY23.
Jason,
He is going to lose so by definition that is a very bad bet.
Hey, why don’t you come over for Poker night sometime?
#220 jason
I think that there is money to be made on Christie at 40.
Marv,
Here are my problems:
1. Stumping with HRC on Healthcare
2. Commerical with Piglosi on the bs issue of Global Warming
3. His current road show with Howard Dean on HC
NY-23 was a minor irritant by comparison. I mean, I LOVED the guy as a politican and revolutionary thinker. He has greatly disappointed me.
By the way, I held back this info:
Moran Atias is a Jew born in Israel. Yep, she’s not Hispanic. She is now #1 on my list.
MD, while I disagree with many of the things Newt has done recently, remember what happened to him when he actually tried to fight the Dems. He was savaged, and no one in his party backed him. Hell, despite managing to hold the House in 1996 against a Dem juggernatu with minimal losses, he faced a coup in his own party of people trying to oust him from the speakership. Then conservatives abandoned him when he tried to do the right thing during the impeachment proceedings in 1998. What motivation exactly can Newt have at this point not to play nice wit the other side? It doesn’t justify what he’s doing, but it does give him a rationale.
I’ve always had a thing for blondes. Seen here:
http://belles.rebelles.free.fr/Natasha_Henstridge.jpg
Wes,
Notice the difference in how Palin is reacting to her savaging by the press and lib crazies and Newt’s. He would like to become one of them now. She wants to change things.
228
That is actually an older picture. She has a strange, tranny look going these days.
I have to say that Moran is my new #1. Go to the Crash website.
And here:
http://media.photobucket.com/image/natasha%20bedingfield/gamasutra/natashabedingfield.jpg
Who wins by a wider margin? HOffman or McDonnell?
Wasn’t it just a week ago that Dede was telling Hoffman to declare all the polls as bogus and drop out of the race? Heh.
McDonnell
Well, around the time of those wretched Species films, NH was absolutely gorgeous, MD. No harm in reliving the past.
TB,
Hoffman – here is my new prediction:
Hoffman – 54
Owens – 37
Dede – 9
The party’s also rallying behind Palin moreso than it did for Newt, MD. That does make a difference.
What do you think of this woman, MD?
http://www.news.com.au/common/imagedata/0,,6038148,00.jpg
Really Wes? Have you listened to Smerconish, read Noonan, read Brooks and listened to Scarface?
Conservatives rallied around her. The country club part of the GOP is praying that she will go away. She is going to get them disinvited to all of the great cocktail parties.
Lost just wasn’t the same when this woman left:
http://theryancokeexperience.files.wordpress.com/2009/03/maggiegrace.jpg
MD, might be a little too optimistic. However, I’d take it.
238
I don’t know. I need to see more pics. Looks a little “manny” to me.
I don’t listen to Smerconish or Scarborough or read Brooks or Noonan, MD. They all rallied behind Obama. That decimated any credibility they have with me.
I totally agree on the Lost chick. I have say that Kate is very hot when she is on the talk shows. I can’t remember her real name at the moment.
2010 is going to be a bloodbath. An absolute bloodbath.
Here’s a better pic of her face, MD:
http://www.rtvchannel.tv/wp-content/uploads/2009/03/natasha_bedingfield_2.jpg
Evangeline Lilly, MD
I like that pic. Again, I wonder how old these are. BTW – my wife gets that piece of dirt rag people and Sofia was featured. Hot!
“like committing rape on national tv. Even then the MSM would spin even that somehow.”
—
“Well, it wasn’t like it was rape-rape!”
Thanks Wes – I guess age is catching up with me.
My mistake. I found another pic of Natasha Bedingfield rather than Rachel Taylor. Her face looks less mannish in this one:
http://4.bp.blogspot.com/_ZHuBM57v13E/SadpoEg6exI/AAAAAAAAFJ0/WwblPdkl_cc/s400/Rachel_Taylor1.jpg
You mean Sofia Vergara, MD?
Ah, Sofia Vergara…
http://lebrownstown.com/wp-content/uploads/2009/08/sofia_vergara_01.jpg
My gift to you Wes:
http://1.bp.blogspot.com/_V4nN1GMzWhI/SPYp3Shj5SI/AAAAAAAAAjU/Y6lfZ8HxL6o/s400/Sof%C3%ADa+Vergara5.jpg
Mine to you is in 253, MD.
She’s simply gorgeous.
She is in my top 5. I have the most diverse top 5 of anyone I know. It is not intentional. Just how things worked out.
I like women of all kinds too much to have a top 5.
I’d prefer Sofia Vergara over the other.
How did you like the maid outfit? How much would it cost to have her clean my place in that outfit?
How much would I lose in my divorce proceedings?
Knight,
You are not talking about Moran Atias I hope? Check her out on the TV show Crash. She alone is worth watching the show. Actually, it is a decent show.
repeal the 19th amendment
I love the maid outfit. I’ll have to get my Wife to dress up in a similar one.
I tried that once. Didn’t work out as I had envisioned.
Why would we want to do that, Tim?
I’m not even going to ask, MD.
I’d prefer the 16th, 17th, and 23rd Amendments be repealed.
Not into the maid outfits, you got one with her in a school girl outfit?
Thanks for the link, Knight.
#261 – No just be between that and one of the picks above it.
Why would we want to do that, Tim?
Comment by Wes
because they vote for the democrats
You’ll LOVE this, MD:
http://www.khurak.net/wp-content/uploads/2009/08/moran-atias4.jpg
Not always, Tim. In fact, white women vote largely Republican. It’s the overwhelming support of non-white women that tends to cause women to tilt toward the Dems.
I agree with Phil in #201. Daggett is right where we need him to be. Christie has gotten back the conservatives that had been saying they were voting for Daggett by successfully painting him as a liberal Corzine-lite. Daggetts support now comes from moderates and liberals.
He can’t, Marv. Under Alaska law, Parnell has to appoint a Dem to replace Begich.
Why can’t she re register as a dem???
A required pic of another blonde:
http://www.beyondhollywood.com/stillsx/2007/10/t4-movie-kristanna-loken.jpg
I’m not even going to dignify that idiotic remark with a response, DQ.
Not really my type, but I think you meant to send me this one .
If indies–the biggest voting bloc in New Jersey–tilt toward Christie, then he wins despite Daggett. I have to hope that doesn’t happen.
Pics from Crash:

Hello comrades!

I would salute that!

Isn’t she the Olympic swimmer?

Rule for the remainder of this thread. You need to come to the table with something good. No BS and I don’t care if you are a woman. You know what looks good.
The same, MD.
For a minute here, I thought this was a political blog.
After the infamous Milf and Gilf thread, this may be my favorite.
Brandon,
How about a hot pic of Taylor Swift? C’mon – bring something to the table bro.
How was the round?
The ladies should definitely NOT look at this:
http://images.google.com/imgres?imgurl=http://i1.ytimg.com/vi/8sZHC3l1Gik/default.jpg&imgrefurl=http://www.youtube.com/watch%3Fv%3DjFFLMExyN68&usg=__udhwwazkHEmivxwjD8j3_4vUk0E=&h=90&w=120&sz=3&hl=en&start=59&um=1&tbnid=GoV0pG0m1tDU1M:&tbnh=66&tbnw=88&prev=/images%3Fq%3Deliza%2Bswenson%26ndsp%3D20%26hl%3Den%26sa%3DN%26start%3D40%26um%3D1
Yeah, Brandon. You like Taylor Swift so much. Show us some pics.
#291. Actually I was just looking for a good T-Swift one.
As for the round, let’s just say it was one to forget.
Wes,
That one resulted in me deleting today’s history.
Here’s a pic of the just the face of the featured girl from my previous post:
http://www.californiafilmindustry.com/Actors_and_Casting/Eliza%20Swenson/ELIZA-SWENSON-HEADSHOT.jpg
Tough conditions today bro. The greens were probably sticking but no roll in the fairway can be a killer. For me, it is the diff between using a 7 iron or 4 iron for my second shot. It is a whole lot easier to hit a 7 iron.
My Wife’s gotten callous to that kind of thing on my part, MD. She figures as long as She knows what I’m like, She’ll just deal with it.
Criminal Bobby Bowden’s team wins a close one.
http://bigmachinerecords.com/filesSite/TSBE_WP_1024×768.jpg
Maybe not the best pic. But she is gorgeous.
My wife asked me last night why I am infatuated with Moran. She did a search. The funny part is that my wife resembles her a little bit. Gina looks latin but is Italian. We went to Mexico and the waiters at dinner would automatically start to talk with her in Spanish. She has been taking classes ever since.
Yeah, I was 8 strokes worse than my last time out. And the wind was kicking up and points, as well as some showers that went through. It was some rough conditions.
She looks 13 in that pic. She is good looking.
I’m hoping you two are actually discussing golf. What you’re saying could be construed as double entendres.
It is impossible to score well with today’s conditions. If I close on a sale in the next 2 weeks, I am going to give myself a gift – a complete new set of custom clubs.
Amber-Heard
T.Swift mmm, mmm,mmm
You could waste a whole day here.
Taylor Swift is gorgeous. As she goes into her twenties though, she’ll start to look better with a woman’s body rather than a girl’s.
Wes,
Funny! Yes, Golf but I can see how that would be easily misunderstood. “8 strokes more than the last time”. LMAO
MD, St. Bobby is as clean as DI will permit. Bite your tongue.
I’ve done that many times, Knight.
HD,
I am saving Knight’s link for you. Asian alert!!!
http://www.maxim.com/girls/girls-of-maxim/44926/amber-heard.html
Isn’t it amazing no women ever come onto these threads when we start posting pics of hot babes?
Hey, they could post pics of themselves.
Jones,
Me not understand reference?
I’ve always wanted to know what Chekote looks like.
What’s funny is I have no idea who most of these people are, does it really matter though?
Strike that. I get it.
315
Baiting me? Not biting.
Just ask DQ for a pic, I believe quite a few have been sown. lol
You said a discouraging word about St. Bobby, and I said that he is as clean as possible in D. I football. He is a great man.
One question about the NY23 race. If a liberal Republican isn’t allowed to be the nominee in a conservative district, then should a conservative Republican be blocked from running in a swing district?
cowgirl
Rick Shaftan says Christie wins by 10.
http://blog.nj.com/njv_paul_mulshine/2009/10/im_not_betting_any_six-packs_o.html
An Israelite is my #1. Is this a great world (except for the commies, libs, etc..) or what?
#312- I’m going to have to remember that effect, could be useful.
#323 – Sounds like he’s on crack, but we’ll see.
Her boobs look 19 Quix, her face looks 11. Kinda creepy.
“a liberal Republican ”
—
Is not a Republican.
I am not sure I can go with Shafton on that.
Her boobs look 19 Quix, her face looks 11. Kinda creepy.~~MD
She can creep up on me any day.
Oh, I agree. I think he’s nuts. But if it happens he looks like a genius, and if not, no one will remember he said that anyway.
So, MD, are there any HHR women you’d like to see pictures of? The only one I’ve ever seen in a photo is Tina. I have to say she is very attractive.
“then should a conservative Republican be blocked from running in a swing district?”
—
Of course not.
Why are you trying to compare a conservative district with a swing district, Slate your question should have been ’should a conservative republican be blocked from running in a liberal democratic district to be a reversal.
I think Johnny C wins this one. At least I hope he does. New Jersey hasn’t been punished enough for 2002, its hyperliberalism, its graft, its corruption, and its blind support of idiots like Lautenberg, Menendez, and Williams yet.
I think any candidate that wants to run should be able to run. So if a liberal “Republican” wants to run as a third-party candidate, they can do it if they want. Not sure how many votes they would get anyway.
Gotta run out catch you fellas later.
I know this thread has evolved (or is it devolved?) into other topics, but I saw a suggestion earlier about Alaska changing it’s law for appointments to an open U.S. Senate seat if Begich is forced to resign. Perhaps the comment was in gest. At any rate, let’s not encourage any Republicans to pursue the same course that the moonbat liberals in Massachusetts have pursued the past several years with their Senate appointment law. If a law is good for a Republican – like when Murkowski got her seat – then it’s good for Democrats. Let’s avoid sliding into the squishy hypocrisy that liberals seem so comfortable with.
Her boobs look 19 Quix, her face looks 11. Kinda creepy.~~MD
Yeah I guess she’s kind of ugly for a dallas cheerleader
335 – yup.
#338 – yeah just horrible looking.
ok I’m out
Shaftan looks like a genius in NY-23. He called Hoffman getting over 50% in his much-maligned poll. Sometimes you just get lucky.
http://tpmdc.talkingpointsmemo.com/2009/10/conservative-pollster-puts-hoffman-ahead-in-ny-23.php
“Neighborhood Research head Rick Shaftan told TPM: ‘She’s [Scozzafava] going to end up in single digits and Hoffman is going to top 50%.’”
It depends on how you define liberal, Brandon. I would define social conservatives as liberal big-government supporters because they demand government intervention in people’s lives and often have no problem with pork-barrel projects. On the other hand, there are people like Lincoln Chafee who are down-the-line liberal on every single issue and only run as Republicans because that primary is less crowded than the Dem one.
Wes,
Agree on Tina. A good looking lady to be certain. There was a female poster here called MBT (Mary Beth Tung) who is also good looking. I have always wondered about Lisab. There is a Heather that posts here once in a while. Every Heather I know is hot so I have to assume she is also.
There is a cute blonde who posts at BJG. I think her name is Jan.
janzam
Quix,
I never said she was ugly!!! I said her face looked young.
On the other hand, Jeff, the dems led the way by fighting from the gutter first. There are times when you have to get dirty if you’re going to wrestle a pig.
I have NO INTEREST in seeing what LisaB looks like. Bony Callista Flockhart lookalikes just don’t appeal to me.
I like watching Right Wing Yahoo interact with Jan. She softens him up.
This thread has evolved. A classic for your consideration:

Not bad, MD. Who is she?
Gasp! That Angie Everhart Wes.
Another to share:
http://style.popcrunch.com/wp-content/uploads/2008/04/angie-everhart-dui.jpg
Forgive me, MD. It’s been so long since I saw a pic of Angie Everhart I’d forgotten what she looks like.
She has great legs.
Wes,
That is why I called it a classic. No problems.
Be prepared for this one, MD:

N.Y. special election has broad political significance
By Dan Balz
http://www.washingtonpost.com/wp-dyn/content/article/2009/10/31/AR2009103101287.html
“Palin was catalyst — -her endorsement turned the tide and gave everyone else permission to do the right thing,” one conservative Republican strategist said Saturday. “If Hoffman pulls it off, it will be a case study in [political science] graduate seminars for years to come on how the grassroots rebelled against the party bosses and won.”

Wes,
My compliments. A fine selection indeed!
DQ, you haven’t figured out we’re supposed to be posting pics of HOT women, have you? That’s the whole point of this little exercise.
Quix,
I was in a good mood dammit!
Thanks, MD.
Different strokes for different folks
TB,
True but NY 23 presented some unique circumstances. It will still be extremely hard for insurgency candidates to win in most cases.
DQ always has to ruin it when we start posting pics of hot women. Speaking of hot women, I love a blonde in a business suit. Let me see if I can find a pic of Cheryl Casone or Jenna Lee.
Loks and brains. This woman definitely has them:

Hoffman appears to be on the way to victory now, but the margin may not be as huge as some have suggested here. Dede had pulled off a bunch of support that was from democrats, and conceivably much of that will now go back to Owens. And of course Scozza will be on the ballot and will pick off some votes from people who don’t pay any attention to the news and just go in and mark the R every time. My new predition:
Hoffman 49%
Owens 41%
Scozzafava 9%
This sweetheart should make up for it.
Legs are a bit skinny on these women, but nod bad looking at all:

Don’t like that pic of her.
Ame,
Funny! I wish I had one.
You can have her, DQ. I’ll have this woman warm my bed, thanks:

Thank God I have a wastebasket near by. I just had to throw up after opening the link to 372.
Of Casone, MD?
375 Wes,
Superb! Doesn’t beat my Moran though. So far, only Sofia comes close.
This might be a better pic of Cheryl, mD:

I used to think Terry Keenan looked good till she packed on the pounds.
Nope – just not doing anything for me.
For racial diversity’s sake:

Keenan looks like someone stuck a pin in her and blew her up.
I know you’ll like this one, MD:
http://www.wallpaperbase.com/wallpapers/celebs/jessejane/jesse_jane_2.jpg
You’re right about that. Maybe that’s why they took her show away and gave it to Casone.
Apparently Strategic Vision has a NJ poll out showing Christie up. I’m looking for confirmation.
Nice – so we have had different colors, shapes, sizes and countries.
That should keep the ACLU off our asses for a while.
OK – who wants to posts the pics of Chaz Bono so we don’t upset the transvestites?
What do you think fo this woman, MD?

384 is a winner! I think I saw her on a movie in my hotel room!!!
Just kidding.
I’ll pass on the Bono pics.
388 – Link did not work Wes.
For some reason, that last link didn’t take.
She is as ugly as a guy as she was as a woman and she was one ugly woman!
This isn’t the same pic, but it is the same woman:

Brandon,
I was led to believe that Strategic Vision was out of the political polling business because of that smack, Silver.
New Strategic Vision poll out:
Christie: 49%
Corzine: 39%
Daggett: 6%
Undecided: 6%
http://www.strategicvision.biz/political/newjersey_poll_103109.htm
This one has a vulnerable-yet-slutty quality that appeals to me for some reason. Of course her hotness doesn’t hurt one bit:
http://allserieslinamarcela.files.wordpress.com/2009/01/0amber-benson-posters.jpg
The link didn’t take, Brandon.
Okay, well it was working earlier.
Wes,
She looks like she just took a toke on the pipe!
Brandon,
Link didn’t work. I guess Nate Silver is now in a complete, white hot rage.
I have a hard time believing Christie would be up 10 although as things are going now, I do believe him to be up by a bit.
396 – Do we really believe that Christie is at 49? I would love to, but just can’t see it.
That may be, MD, but she’s still hot for all that.
#402. I report, you decide.
OT – why do you need 5 guys to do a pre-game football show?
Knova, my boy! Is there any truth to the rumors several VA State Senators may switch parties to the GOP if McDonnell wins big and drags more State Reps in with him?
They have to earn the ungodly amount of pay they’re contracted for somehow, MD.
I have a funny feeling about today’s FL v GA game even though FL is up 14 to 3 at the moment.
“Comments are monitored and subject to deletion”~~~~mut be asleep at the switch
No idea who she is, but I knew you guys wouldn’t complain:
http://sportsgonesouth.com/wp-content/uploads/2006/10/yournextmnfsidelinereporter.jpg
Are we really doing anything that deserves deletion, DQ?
Brandon,
What is the URL for the website? I can’t even find them on a google search.
I want to know her!
#412. http://www.strategicvision.biz/
I wouldn’t mind knowing her either, MD.
Strategic Vision certainly has some balls after the Silver smear. I would love for SV to completely nail these results and discredit Silver once and for all.
Brandon,
The SV link is down that you posted to the poll
I think Strategic Vision may have pulled that poll. I just found the site and the last Jersey poll was on 9/24 and there is no headline announcing a new poll.
Yet another muy caliente latina for you guys:
http://2.bp.blogspot.com/_1XZCl5e0HFU/SQN9mAHEgAI/AAAAAAAAAbo/LKPod1-F6tg/s400/silviacolloca7rr.jpg
That’s what I was thinking, MD.
Yeah, it was up there before. I guess they will put it back up later.
Nothing to complain about here:
http://luizcore.files.wordpress.com/2008/11/josie-maran-1.jpg
A little too bony for me Wes. The chick needs a cheeseburger.
I wonder why SV would have pulled that poll. They can’t let Silver drive them out of business like that!
422
Now we are talking!
Which one, MD?
http://top-people.starmedia.com/tmp/swotti/cacheZWXLBMEGYW5HEWE=UGVVCGXLLVBLB3BSZQ==/imgElena%20Anaya3.jpg
strat vis poll scroll down
The last one!
There! I’ve officially posted pics of all the babes from that crapfest called Van Helsing.
Rick Shaftan (who?) is my hero. He had Christie up by 7 and we thought he was nuts but now he is doubling down and going for 10.
Gets an A for balls. If that Strategic Vision is for real Shaftan saw the blowout first.
That poll was done in September Quix.
No, Jason! Corzine has to win! New Jersey doesn’t deserve to have a competent, noncorrupt Governor serve in Trenton.
oh crap,my eyes were crossed from all the pix
The poll Brandon cited had the Christie/Corzine spread at 49-39.
And I’m not delusional, I did see it.
“Jason,
He is going to lose so by definition that is a very bad bet.
Hey, why don’t you come over for Poker night sometime?”
MD, I didn’t say I was making that bet. 30-1 in football I have seen upsets. 30-1 in politics never.
Sure, what are the stakes?
Here you go, guys:
http://images.google.com/imgres?imgurl=http://img13.imagevenue.com/loc172/th_e6e_DeeAnn_Donovan__Page_3_016.jpg&imgrefurl=http://forums.superiorpics.com/ubbthreads/showthreaded.php/Cat/0/Number/152164/page//vc/1&usg=__fmz9sgo7mZKY1ZadyknVTD4fVDU=&h=114&w=160&sz=5&hl=en&start=13&tbnid=lf2OA3wrE3Z1oM:&tbnh=70&tbnw=98&prev=/images%3Fq%3Ddeeann%2Bdonovan%26gbv%3D2%26hl%3Den
30-1? What are you guys talking about?
“And I’m not delusional, I did see it.”
Should have taken a picture, before Anita Dunn called them and said “nice polling organization you have there, too bad if something happened to it”
ok so I borrowed the line from the Olympics debacle, sue me.
Deeds is 3% at Intrade. That’s about 30-1 chances.
It’s actually 33-1, Jason. Close enough though.
Roughly you would invest 3 bucks to get 100 back.
If you bet on McDonnell you have to bet 98 to get 100.
Neither bet is good.
Yeah Wes, I said about 30 to round it off. He is not exactly at 3.
I’m on record now: Deeds has NO CHANCE of winning this race. I’m beginnging to wonder if it won’t be called as soon as polls close. That would be a HUGE blow to Obama.
I say the 98 to get 100 on McDonnell is not good because over the weekend someone could publish a picture of him with a dead woman or a live goat.
Also, it means Virginia is starting a trend back the other way.
“The only way I lose this race is if I’m caught in bed with a live boy or a dead girl.” I think that’s the exact quote anyway.
Anyone else know what famous political campaign that’s from?
“I’m beginnging to wonder if it won’t be called as soon as polls close. That would be a HUGE blow to Obama”
I will call it right now if you think it will be an even bigger blow.
Edwin Edwards
450!
since you guys are posting all these hot babes pics, perhaps we should vote on the hottest babe per thread
438. Is that a he/she ???
We both know Deeds is done, Jason. I’m referring to the official calls by the networks though. Immediate calls of closely watched races tend to deflate morale for the opposing side. See Georgia 2004 and the Virginia Senate race in 2008.
422. UNREAL !!!
No, Eph. A natural woman since birth. She frequently models for the American Curves swimsuit magazine.

“I’ll go ahead and predict she runs in 2012 as either an independent or Democrat, based on the numbers we’re getting back”
http://twitter.com/ppppolls/status/5322429602
“I’m referring to the official calls by the networks though”
I know. I was just volunteering to make the official call here too.
That’s three years away, Brandon. I doubt Snowe’s going anywhere.
Snowe is about as good as you will get in Maine. Any alternative will be rabid moonbats. Don’t get carried away.
Well, I’m calling it right now, Jason. I doubt that has any pull in the newsrooms though. I hope aspiring Stripper/Escort Contessa Brewer on MSNBC has to declare McDonnell has defeated Deeds Tuesday. I can’t wait to see the look on her face when that happens.
Snowe and Collins are unlikely to depart the GOP. Anyway, 2012 will likely be such an extremely toxic year for the Dems neither maine Senator would dare venturte into that party.
However, we could win a three-way race if the Dems nominated a strong candidate. Snowe and the strong dem would just split the moderate/liberal vote.
Tommy, the Dems threw the strongest candidate they had against Collins last year. He got 38% of the vote. Despite being a generally Dem state, maine has no strong Dems to run for the Senate and hasn’t since Mitchell retired. It’s just not going to happen.
406 – The only place that I have heard about state senators switching is here. Darrell might be better in tune with this than I am.
Wes,
You cannot see 40/35/25 with the Republican defeating the indy Snowe and the Democrat?
Thank you, Speedy Gonzales!!!!
Wes
http://www.nndb.com/people/017/000022948/ac.jpg
At this moment, Tommy, I reject that notion on these grounds:
1) I don’t think Snowe’s going independent
2) The Republicans have no strong local candidates after Snowe and Collins
3) The Dems on the Senate level are in worse shape than the GOP in Maine
Ultimately, yes, it’s possible, but so MD’s having an affair with Vida Guerra. In other words, it’s highly unlikely to happen.
You love your porn stars, don’t you, Eph?

“Are Democrats more into Halloween than Republicans? Good news for the GOP on all of our polls today”
http://twitter.com/ppppolls/status/5322659936
You beat me to it Brandon.
No, Mr. Jensen, the Republicans just have better candidates.
I guess PPP is putting credibility ahead of partisanship now.
So far, Brandon, it’s looking that way. By the way, Brandon, how’s it looking for Christie on the ground up there?
And the way PPP polls polling on Halloween wouldn’t have any effect as they do call-backs to people that didn’t answer the phone the first time.
The Ras does that too, Brandon.
Are you sure? I thought RAS just keeps calling people until he gets 1000? I mean his polls are only one day polls, so I don’t see how he would be able to do call-backs.
JOE CAMEL
He was on Hannity a few weeks ago and said he does callbacks when he can’t get people or they say they’re busy, Brandon.
You finally got one worth looking at, DQ.
I had to double check that I am at the right site, I thought I wandered over to ace of spades by accident. Looking at the comments for the top post of each site now, its like ace is HHR and HHR is ace for the day. Must be Halloween or something.
“And I’m not delusional, I did see it.”
—
Perhaps they had a typo, and pulled it to correct, that or it wasn’t supposed to be released publicly.
Cough Cough Don’t have a heart attack.
It would help if the link worked, Knight.
Wasn’t Gallup going to poll NJ? There’s no question in my mind that it would show Corzine +5
It works just fine, you must have a site blocker.
No, I don’t. It’s just not coming up for some reason. Let me try again.
Link didn’t work for me either.
All right. I got it to load after a bit of legerdemaine. Worthwhile, I’d say.
New thread above finally.
“However, we could win a three-way race if the Dems nominated a strong candidate. Snowe and the strong dem would just split the moderate/liberal vote.”
