NJ: What Happened To Strategic Vision?

Fairleigh Dickinson released a final poll for New Jersey showing Jon Corzine ahead of Chris Christie by 2%.

GOVERNOR – NEW JERSEY (FDU)
Jon Corzine (D-inc) 43%
Chris Christie (R) 41%
Chris Daggett (I)

This poll is almost laughable in that FDU decided to do an 11-day poll and release it one day before the election. How can any serious pollster even consider that a legitimate poll? This poll was done October 22-November 1 among 1119 likely voters.

One pollster that seems to be missing in the closing days is Strategic Vision. After releasing polls about once a month or every other month for New Jersey, the last poll seen from them was released back on September 24th. They were also releasing polls about once a month for Georgia. Did the controversy scare them off from releasing any other polls?

Is it me, or is it time to just let the chips fall?

Since the 2000 election we have seen liberal media and University polls always prop up the Dem Candidates who are slipping.

  2. Marv says:

    Jason T.

University polls seem to favor the Dems. They really don’t have a professional standing to protect in the polling world.

  3. Jason T says:

I agree Marv. FDU does not have to worry about pleasing clients.

  4. Tim V says:

Eph, what do your sources say about this poll ?

  5. Tina says:

SV was cowed by the Polling Authority.

  6. Tommy_Boy says:

    Jason,

Are you going to withdraw your assertion in the other thread that I predicted an Owens victory?

  7. Jason T says:

Tina, anything new form your sources?

I am thinking Hoffman is a lock

  8. Jason T says:

Tommy no. You did predict a Owens victory. You said since Obama won the district in 2008, Owens would win.

Do not call me liar, you said it. I was here.

  9. Cory says:

SV’s reluctance to release any new polling is rather telling to me.

Some serious mathematical anomalies have been revealed within their historical data, and they have offered little or no explanation for it.

  10. Gary Maxwell says:

TB you werent alone, but you were pretty down on the Republicans in generally. You has several folks as company.

  11. Gary Maxwell says:

So Cory, got your talking points straight on why the sweep is not a referendum on Obama and Obamacare?

  12. Tina says:

Jason T, nothing new, everybody is in lock down mode.

I have Hoffman winning as well as the R candidates for the top 3 offices in VA.

NJ is a question mark, I am very concerned about the Corzine Machine, union thuggery, and Drat Fraud.

  13. Jason T says:

Cory, the only anamoly in NJ is fraud.
And since American and Canadian liberals like yourself hire ACORN scum to steal elections, maybe that is why SVU does not want to touch it.

  14. Tina says:

But if the races for governorship flip to Rs tomorrow, it will be funny to see the Obumbler, Baghdad Bob, Dead Fish, and the others explain how this was not a vote against the Obumbler.

  15. 4. TimV,

Christian Family Poll: NJ / updated

    Chrisite: 54
    Corzine: 33
    Daggett: 12

  16. Marv says:

    #15 Eph

I picked that up on their website, but you beat me to it.

  17. dswx says:

“Preparing for a revolution – starting tomorrow in VA and NJ,” tweeted Virginia Republican State Leadership Committee spokeswoman Carrie Cantrell.

Conservative blogger Patrick Ruffini offered a similar message today: “Change is coming to Virginia and New Jersey. One more day.”

Right-wing Republicans are sounding truly desperate now! Meanwhile, HCR (that real Americans want overwhelmingly) is moving along to fruition, climate change legislation is on track, President Obama’s remains popular here and abroad, and Republican party ID remains in the 25 percent range! Great news for the country as a whole! It is fun to watch Republicans spin their desperate lies.

  18. KnightHawk says:

J.Fund on Beck – NJ filled with massive voter fraud.

  19. Jason T says:

Thanks Tina. I think we are all nervous about those buses leaving Philly, NYC, and Baltimore with ACORN Prostitutes ready to work for Corzine tomorrow.

  20. phoenixrisen says:

Tina, it was interesting that on Hannity, Christie said he had 300 lawyers and 600 challengers ready. It is going to be awfully tough for the Dems to engage in widespread fraud. However, those absentee ballots could become an issue. I still like Christie to win being up as much as he is and he still has a lot of momentum.

  21. Jason T says:

    17. Dsw just got his learners permit. Will mom now let you drive the car?

  22. phoenixrisen says:

#17 — We are SOOOOOOOOO DESPERATE right now?? ROFL!!!! You sound like one ticked off troll!

  23. Tina says:

All the source said – through second hand inforamtion (he is not involved in the NJ race) is to watch the Drat Voter Fraud. You are seeing a lot of stories about this – started wtih “lets count the mismatched signatures on absentee ballots.”

I repeat my warnings that a Christie ballot victory could result in a Corzine actual victory. Drats specialize in fradulent elections.

  24. Marv says:

    #20 phoenixrisen

I think that Christie will run up the score tomorrow and be so far ahead that they can’t cheat.

  25. KnightHawk says:

dswx – Change your prescription and join the rest of us in reality for a change.

  26. phoenixrisen says:

ds (I don’t usually feed trolls), news flash! Obamacare will even come to a vote. Cap and trade is DOA in the Senate. Run along back to Kos.

  27. Jason T says:

Ironic, the thing holding up Healthcare and Hussein’s agenda is moderate democrats who think Obama is a Socialist also.

  28. Tina says:

President Obama’s remains popular here and abroad, and Republican party ID remains in the 25 percent range

Yup, 46 percent approval is very popular.

There is a report from U.S. News blaming the Obumbler’s fall in job approval on Anti-Bush hatred ebbing.

    LOL

  29. phoenixrisen says:

Marv, I agree. Rdelbov and Polaris’ predictions I think are spot on.

  30. Tina says:

And folks, do not forget that the courts will change election laws and help the Ds in NJ. They are activists who do not respect election laws.

  31. Spell says:

Corzine will win by no less than 4 percent. His constituency among the dead will be the critical difference. Chicago’s first Mayor Daley would be proud.

  32. KnightHawk says:

#19 Scary part is that is not far from the truth.

  33. phoenixrisen says:

Christie wins by 3-4. I’m pretty sure of it.

  34. Polaris says:

    Cory,

No. I can give you the simpliest reason in the world why SV isn’t releasing polls right now. SV is in the process of suing Nate Silver for libel, and they don’t want to release ANYTHING that Nate can use in his defense.

As for FDU as I said on the thread below, that FDU poll is so bad structurally and mechanically that not even Pollster.com is including it in their aggregate.

    -Polaris

  35. Marv says:

    #17 dswx

Are you now, or have you ever been, eligible for active duty service in any branch of the United States military?

  36. phoenixrisen says:

Tina, expect Christie to make use of the Equal Protection Clause to take out the NJ courts via the federal branch if it comes to that.

  37. Tina says:

Thus, due to anti bush sentiment ebbing, the Obumbler’s approval rate is declining.

Its more like due to the Obumber’s bad policies, imminent defeat in Afghanistan, failure to be a commander in chief, Obamacare, and very partisan attitude, and the bad economy has resulted in his poll #s going from the 60s to the 40s.

  38. Marv says:

    #29 phoenixrisen,

Polaris got the idea for his predictions straight from me. :-)

  39. sam says:

You all are sounding just like Kos kids shouting “Diebold, Diebold”.

Either do something about the supposed fraud, or stop moaning about it.

  40. Darrell says:

I thought SV had released another poll???

  41. Polaris says:

    DSWK #17

    Desperate lies?

I guess you are going to include Nate Silver and Pollster.com has part of this desperate right wing consipiracy too then right?

They are also predicting a GOP win in NJ and Pollster.com (Rosenberg and Blumenthal) are predicting an outright GOP sweep.

    -Polaris

  42. phoenixrisen says:

Polaris, any idea of what the final polls prior to and on Election Day between Corzine and Forrester were?

  43. Tina says:

I do not know about that, PR.

I do know that Christie appears to be on top of it. He has 300 lawyers and 600 challengers on the grounds. It is recommended that R voters photograph Drat abuse at the ballot box.

Also rememeber, ACORN is muzzled, but they will be back. Funding stoppage was only temporarily.

  44. Darrell says:

    But I guess they didn’t.

  45. Gary Maxwell says:

Before this is over the American people will be building a statue and unveiling it, of W. Just like the ethnic Albanians in Kosovo.

  46. Jason T says:

Obama is frickin’ Uerkel. Did you see Drudge today? The photo makes Obama look like a Pencilneck with 80 pounds body, 50 pounds of Ears.

  47. phoenixrisen says:

Sam, I really don’t think fraud will be an issue unless Corzine is within 1.5 If RAS, SUSA, and PPP(D) verify, Christie wins soundly.

  48. KnightHawk says:

    39 – Catch 22

  49. Darrell says:

Polaris, just let the Dem trolls squeal. You know we are doing something right if they are here whining about us.

  50. Tommy_Boy says:

    Jason,

I don’t recall making any such statement. Whatever, we’re on the same side so I’ll just drop it.

  51. Tina says:

That is why I am slightly negative on Christie’s chances.

  52. Tommy_Boy says:

Silver now says HOffman is at worst a 4-to-1 favorite.

    http://www.fivethirtyeight.com/2009/11/ny-23-re-re-re-reconsidered.html

  53. Jason T says:

    43. Tina, I do believe that the DNC will not let Corzine go overboard . If new videos of ACORN show up or Black Panthers, it will be front story on Glenn Beck.

There will be many GOP camera phones in Jersey Tomorrow.

  54. phoenixrisen says:

Geez, I can see the tension and excitement here and on other conservative blogs. Ground reports are going to be fun to watch tomorrow. Still trying to find a teleconference tomorrow night where conservative bloggers can go and talk about the results.

  55. Polaris says:

#42 Not offhand. I’d have to look it up. I don’t recall, however, that Corzine was in any danger of losing the 2005 election.

    -Polaris

  56. Jason T says:

    54. Tommy nothing personal, but you were down on Hoffman.

  57. 2012NSE says:

Oh you gotta love the drive by guys. As of right now the only lib that has any of my respect is AATX, because at least he will stand his ground and debate. I guess sometimes Tim does too.

  58. Polaris says:

#52 ROTFMAO! Nate Silver has finally seen the light and realized that in a republican year, a “republican” (Hoffman) is not going to lose to even a “moderate” Dem like Owens.

    -Polaris

  59. Tina says:

Jason T, the problem is that the R candidates and RNC have been largely unsuccesful against this blatant abuse.

IF you thought the MN courts were bad, wait till the NJ courts get involved. They re-write elction laws whenever they want to.

  60. D.QUIXOTE says:

Either do something about the supposed fraud, or stop moaning about it.

    Comment by sam

How might that be accomplished with left wing judges on the demo payroll??

  61. Tina says:

Due to work and a late schedule, I will be here very early tomorrow, and back here briefly in the late afternoon, and then gone until after 9 PST.

  62. Jason T says:

    52. Tommy, I hate Silver, but the weasel was right on Franken and others in 2008.

He now has Hoffman and Christie winning, so lets hope his luck is still strong.

  63. Tina says:

Corzine is shopping the provisional ballots to the court, assuming that the Drat Secretary of State does not grant it.

  64. KnightHawk says:

    #59 – Nah they’ve improved since lautenberg…really.. ;) Want to buy a bridge? lol

  65. Tina says:

Mostly, I will be a “lrker.”

  66. Jason T says:

    59. True Tina, but some are Whitman appointees who like moderates like Christie.

Whitman was Gov for 8 years I think.

  67. Tina says:

    Lurker/Covert, if you will.

  68. KnightHawk says:

Not to worry Tina, we’ll still be waiting for the call in NJ @ midnight, lol so we can save any toasting till then.

  69. Tina says:

They have moderate Supreme Court justices here in CA too. That means nothing.

  70. Jason T says:

    They are worried about Lautenberg.

If Christie wins, look for Bela Lugosi to resign his seat so Corzine can appoint before January.

  71. jason says:

“Right-wing Republicans are sounding truly desperate now! Meanwhile, HCR (that real Americans want overwhelmingly) is moving along to fruition, climate change legislation is on track, President Obama’s remains popular here and abroad”

    1. What’s a real American? An Obamabot like you? If the HCR plan is so good why does it need so much cajoling, arm twisting, hand wringing, and horsetrading?

    2. Are only right wing Republicans desperate or all of us? I need to know.

    3. Crap and trade is moving to fruition? It won’t pass the Senate.

    4. Obama has lost the luster and shine, if you haven’t notice. And his trend is down, down, down.

    5. HE is popular abroad? That’s precious, even if it isn’t true, the Kool Aid is wearing off fast abroad too.

But thanks for passing by and say hi to Marcos.

  72. Tina says:

The NJ Supreme Court re wrote election law in 2002, do we forget?????

  73. Tina says:

Yeah, that will go on and on and on. Ballots will disappear and other ballots will reappear. A Drat official will be caught with a trunk full of ballots – that need to be counted.

LOL – its Freaking NJ and Corzine controls the courts.

  74. President Barack Obama says:

    Friends,

I would like you to know that I have ordered the arrest of Rush Limbaugh and I have um also ordered the shutdown of the Hedgehog Report.

Thank you for your time and my God Bless America,

    President Barack Obama

  75. DrJay says:

Phoenix, I posted a bunch of final polls in an earlier thread from Wikipedia:

    Strategic Vision November 2 48% 42%
    Fairleigh-Dickinson November 2 44% 40%

    Rasmussen November 6 44% 39%
    Quinnipiac November 7 52% 45%
    Survey USA November 7 50% 44%

  76. jason says:

“but the weasel was right on Franken”

Oh please, Coleman was ahead by a few hundred votes and then the recounts started….Nate didn’t have to be an Einstein to figure out Franken was going to steal it.

  77. phoenixrisen says:

Hey Knighthawk and anyone else, looks like Mike Illions is holding one. Here is the link: http://www.gopusanj.com/wordpress/?p=9296

  78. Tina says:

Well got to go for now…

    Bye.

  79. KnightHawk says:

#74 – In NJ when such is found they are given a high speed police escort, speeds up the count!

  80. DrJay says:

Also, final polls from 1997 here are Whitman tie, +3 +2.
    That’s a +1.7% avg for Whitman, and Whitman won by…. 1.1%
Notice how low the numbers are… I don’t have any more info on them.

New York Post November 39% 37%
    Reuters November 38% 38%
    Mason Dixon November 44% 41%

  81. phoenixrisen says:

Well shoot DrJay, I guess looking at the data no pollster was really able to nail it. No one was really close. Tomorrow night should be interesting.

  82. KnightHawk says:

“looks like Mike Illions is holding one.” – Thanks, I should have thought to check his site, that should probably be a good call, a lot of local knowledge.

  83. 2012NSE says:

Dswx, i believe you. Btw I have some beachfront property in Idaho, at a real reasonable price. Interested?

  84. Polaris says:

The best way to fight fraud is to insure the race isn’t close enough for fraud to matter.

The next best way is to work to get local judges, precinct chairmen, and secretrary of states for each state elected for your party. It’s this later point where the national GOP has been asleep behind the wheel.

After teh 2000 recount the Dems (and ACORN) put a very high emphasis on electing Dem SoS officials whereever they could. It makes a difference.

    -Polaris

  85. phoenixrisen says:

It begins. ACORN will challenge the election results in Clinton County after losing a legal fight. http://www.redstate.com/anitamoncrief/2009/11/02/breaking-acorn-expected-to-protest-election-results-tomorrow-in-clinton-county/

  86. KnightHawk says:

    #89 – Just great.

  87. Gary Maxwell says:

The engineer tells you how this is going to work.

“Tuesday’s election will provide the most tangible evidence so far of how strong a backlash is building and just how frightened centrist Democrats should be of 2010,” former president George W. Bush’s strategist Karl Rove wrote in the Wall Street Journal.

  88. Wes says:

IO’m beginning to wonder if Christie might actually win this race.

  89. KnightHawk says:

Holy crap Wes is getting a wave of optimism.

  90. Alan says:

    Virginia goes Republican.
    NY-23 stays Republican.
    NJ-Too close to call.
However, people on this site should stop saying that poll you don’t like are biased, and polls that you like are objective.
In 2008, Polaris said all the polls showing that Obama would be elected President had a liberal bias.
Well folks you know something, facts have a liberal bias>

  91. Polaris says:

#92 So is Obama and the rest of the Dems especially since Obama put so much of his personal prestigue on the line in this race. If Christie wins this (and I think he will), Obama looks really really vunerable and the Dems in congress start getting really, really nervous.

This could be the start of 1994 all over again.

    -Polaris

  92. Wes says:

Last week the Dems were guaranteed to take NY-23 and keep New Jersey, Alan the troll. What happened?

  93. sam says:

    Well, folks:

That was Alan’s drive-by shot of the day.

We can all relax now, till tomorrow.

  94. 2012NSE says:

94 Whats the point of a drive-by when all you shoot are blanks

  95. Gary Maxwell says:

Welcome back from that reality bender you have been on Wes.

I am going to help Christie out a bit here and start the writing of his acceptance speech. I would start off with thanking the hard workers blah blah, then I would admit that I am fat. “Yes I am fat, but I would rather be fat than be a loser. And tomorrow I will be Governor, and John will still be a loser.”

Fill in as you see fit from there.

  96. Polaris says:

    Alan,

I made the claim based on nearly thirty years of political history. I’d be careful about claims of bias. The polls we are panning here have real and problematic methodological problems (and even pollster.com is not acceptin this latest FDU poll).

In short, Alan I’d stop throwing stones when you live in a glass house.

    -Polaris

  97. Wes says:

Don’t get me wrong, Knight. I don’t WANT Christie to win simply because Corzine would be guaranteed to destroy New Jersey the way it deserves. I just think Christie is the current beneficiary of a momentum shift and may pull it out by a victory sufficient to overcome the Dems’ attempting to pull a Mcfrankenchimpy in this race.

  98. Wes says:

Polaris, Alan isn’t smart enough to know what you’re talking about. It’s best just to avoid feeding that particular stunted troll.

  99. Polaris says:

    #98 I’m sure that’s what Alan’s girlfriend said.

    -Polaris

  100. DrJay says:

Actually, NY-23 does not technically stay Republican, and based on Dede’s behavior, it sounds like it may have been rescued from a party-switcher by the conservatives.

  101. 2012NSE says:

103, it was a double bladed comment, glad someone noticed.

  102. Polaris says:

#104 Agreed on both points, however, given the history of the Conservative Party in NY (and it is a well established party in NY), it’s pretty much guaranteed that Hoffman will caucus with the GOP and on reelection will do so as a GOP (which the NY Conservative Party not only allows but encourages).

I have to say that the GOP averted a close shave with DeDe. Without Hoffman, the Dems would have picked up one seat guaranteed because given her behavior, it now seems virtually certain that DeDe would have pulled a jumping Jim Jeffords on us.

    -Polaris

  103. Wes says:

If PPP(D) has Christie up, then I’d have to say that’s a fair reflection of his momentum. If Christie does win tomorrow, then that proves me to have been right. No incumbent with Corzine’s level of unpopularity who has run the kind of campaign he’s running has ever been reelected. We’ll find out tomorrow, I guess.

  104. Wes says:

I hope the GOP primaries Dede next year and gets someone with a real set of nonsocialist principles into her seat.

  105. Charles says:

The best thing the GOP can do in places like California and NJ is push for Term limits. Not in the houses/state senates where they’ll get killed before they get off the ground.

I mean directly on the ballots for the voters to decide. They have no chance at affecting real change long term without changing the overwhelming Dem/liberal establishment in bluer then blue states. But term limits are something they maybe to sell and get passed in a strong GOP year like 2010.

  106. Karl R Rove says:

“It begins. ACORN will challenge the election results in Clinton County after losing a legal fight. http://www.redstate.com/anitamoncrief/2009/11/02/breaking-acorn-expected-to-protest-election-results-tomorrow-in-clinton-county/ …”

They will need to do better than that to steal an election.

  107. Karl R Rove says:

And why is ACORN still allowed to do *anything* as an organization? Shouldn’t their assets be frozen and their CEOs investigated?

  108. Wes says:

Does anyone else beside sme hate the terms “red state” and “blue state”?

  109. Wes says:

    Good point, Karl.

  110. Karl R Rove says:

Alan, you may have a point about 2008 but that doesn’t mean it sticks permanently. The FDU poll smells.

    We’ll see.

  111. KnightHawk says:

Yes I don’t like the terms either, even though I use them, I didn’t like “the surge” term either, but it took over.

  112. wylie e. coyote - patriotic american citizen says:

So WTF is going on here really in this NJ race?

I have seen polls here on HHR and elsewhere that swing wildly back between R and D canidates and have the fake I anywhere from 5-20%….

This race is the KEY one to kill off Scary-as-HellCare so we need a R win!

  113. Wes says:

Fox News definitely hires some babes to do its reporting. I wish Fox would pick off Christie Paul, Brooke Baldwin, Richelle Carey, and Erica Hill from CNN. They’re all much too hot to work for that no-rating leftist network.

  114. jason says:

“people on this site should stop saying that poll you don’t like are biased, and polls that you like are objective.”

This is very valuable, when I want advice on how to read polls I immediately think of “Cuckoo Bird” Alan.

  115. Wes says:

Damn, Tim! That was a certifiable babe!

  116. KnightHawk says:

#111 – I’m super sure it’s the top thing on Holder’s personal list of to-do’s.

DNC committee in NJ doing robo calls urging votes for Daggett and slamming Christi, sounds a bit desperate. lol

  117. wylie e. coyote - patriotic american citizen says:

#106 Worse yet, she would have stayed a R giving the D a claim of “bipartisanship” on every corrupt bill that conservatives opposed…

  118. Wes says:

Jason, Alan’s probably some 15-year-old, pimple-faced kid who’s never slept with a girl and so comes on here to make outrageous statements in a misguided effort to get attention. There’s really nothing more to him than that.

  119. Tim V says:

15- what is the sample size eph ?

  120. Polaris says:

Like I said elsewhere, I think that what happened in 2008 was a once in a century conflux of events (and in particular the ongoing economic crash) that for the first time in thirty years really did alter the partisan makeup of the electorate.

However, there was and is no reason to think that this was a permanent change and the runoff elections in GA and LA were the first strong indicators that it was not.

What we are seeing here is not only a backlash, but we’re seeing the partisan structure of the electorate “snap back” like a rubber band to what it was prior to 2008. At least that’s how I’m reading the current data.

    -Polaris

  121. Wes says:

I have to admit the following: Early on, I endorsed Ded, thinking her election would be the best way to ensure the Dems didn’t get the seat. Now I have to say I’m glad I was wrong. Hoff’s the guy we need in the seat. On hardly any social issues do I agree with him, but economics is the driver behind US electoral politics. Hoff is the best candidate to represent those issues, and I’m glad he will be the NY-23 Congressman after tomorrow.

  122. 2012NSE says:

yeah, drive by posters are no fun. You cant flame them because they run away. How can I release my libertarian frustrations of the current situation with out morons spouting talking points. Perhaps I am on the wrong board, the Daily Kos would be better for me, I think.

  123. Polaris says:

    #124 Jason, Alan’s probably some 15-year-old, pimple-faced kid who’s never slept with a girl

That’s not totally fair. He might have paid for one after all.

    -Polaris

  124. wylie e. coyote - patriotic american citizen says:

#127 The rubber band will be streched again by 30 million new “citizens” produced by Amnesty as well as tens of millions of new dependent medical welfare cases/government workers that will be created by so-called ScaryCare….

    The left’s permenant electoral utopia….

Unless common sense can prevail in tomorrow’s elections!

  127. Wes says:

I wouldn’t pop champagne corks at the moment, Polaris. The chance of a real realignment with the GOP achieving the kind of power it held in the early Progressive Era and the 1920s is there because of the econonomy. The three battles tomorrow are just the first skirmishes in that war though. The GOP still has a year from today to fully articulate the necessarily economic, fiscal, and national security vision to ensure it becomes a lasting trend though. While I’m optimistic–primarily because of Dem overreaching and Obama’s failure as President–I wouldn’t get too happy and complacent right now and let history slip away from American conservatism and libertarianism at this crucial moment in our history.

  128. Wes says:

Depsite all my efforts to spell everything right, I spelled “economy” “econonomy” in the previous post. Ah, well.

  129. Wes says:

    Ugh! Depsite=despite.

  130. Benny says:

    HI FOLKS

  131. Wes says:

    Hi, Benny.

  132. jason says:

    “I think it’s Alan Colmes.”

Now there is a guy that can save money on Halloween, no costume necessary.

  133. Polaris says:

#134 I’m not popping anything yet. I am making a prediction based on what I think is happening to the electorate. I note that the electorate could easily shift back to a pre-2008 partisan balance and Obama could still win reelection. Clinton did after all with a similiar partisan split in 1996 (and Perot was largely irrelevant that year), and for the most part the 2006 Dem landslide was not due to any partisan shift but rather due to a rejection of the GOP by Indies (and Obama would win in an atmosphere like that).

    -Polaris

  134. KnightHawk says:

Hey Benny. Wes relax about your spelling.

  135. Chekote says:

If tomorrow the GOP sweeps all three races, I no longer want to hear about the all powerful MSM determining our future.

  136. mikeP says:

Obama is, needless say, thinned-skinned. When he was younger, kids called him Uerkel! He would run crying and hide. If we really want to get him to react call him Uerkel. Please spread this around to other websites. With all the names Bush and Sarah received, this is the least we can do. UERKEL

  137. Wes says:

What are your predictions for tomorrow, Chek?

  138. KnightHawk says:

Uerkel – lol, ok I can do that, since we were declared radicals we might as well implement the rules.

  139. Wes says:

Chek, I don’t think the media are all-powerful and determine our future. I do think they try to slant everything in the direction they want though. If their coverage of the VA Governor’s race doesn’t reflect that, then I don’t know what does.

  140. Chekote says:

    Virginia
    McDonnell 55%
    Deeds 45%

    New Jersey
    Christie 48%
    Corzine 44%
    Daggett 8%

    New York
    Hoffman 52%
    Owens 48%

  141. Wes says:

You seriously think it will be that close in NY-23, Chek?

  142. Chekote says:

    Wes

    RE: MSM

I wasn’t talking to you. Of course, they are an obstacle. But some people here blame every loss on the MSM. Sometimes our candidates just plain suck.

  143. D.QUIXOTE says:

This race is the KEY one to kill off Scary-as-HellCare so we need a R win!

    Comment by wylie e. coyote

That won’t do it, I fear.

  144. Chekote says:

    #149

Yeah. I think it will be close. About a 5-6% race. I gotta get off the computer for awhile.

    Dear Wes
    dear KnightHawk

    why??
    whats wrong with my spelling??

How do you feel about tomorrow??

I think VA is safe but NJ very very close but towards Christie
    :-) )

  148. BayernFan says:

Urkel wasn’t even on TV until 1989. So Obama would have been 28 years old. I don’t think anyone was calling him Urkel at that age or even if they were, that he was hiding and crying.

Anyways… will there be exit polls tomorrow? If so, when will they be leaked?

  149. Wes says:

He was referring to my dislike of my personal typos, Benny.

  150. KnightHawk says:

stress? – Personally I don’t think Obama takes his job seriously enough to really stress over it in that way.

  151. KnightHawk says:

    “whats wrong with my spelling??”

Nothing, that part was directed at wes, the HI! was directed at you.

  152. Tim V says:

Obama on Drudge has the classic look of a guy who has resumed heavy smoking, likely from the stresses of the job.

    Comment by pitchaboy

    cigarettes or weed ?

  153. pitchaboy says:

The stress is his policies failing and his ratings collapsing; not necessarily, losing sleep over presidential matters.

  154. pitchaboy says:

Wylie, if you strongly believe Obama/Pelosi?Reid care will materialise, buy on intrade– shares are selling for 9 cents; if it passes by the year end, you may a buck for 9 cents spent.

  155. Wes says:

I seriously DO NOT see Obamacare passing.

  156. KnightHawk says:

#156 Is that when they were calling him blow?

“I had learned not to care. I blew a few smoke rings, remembering those years. Pot had helped, and booze; maybe a little blow when you could afford it. Not smack, though. …”

  157. jones says:

    Or Coke. Don’t forget coke.

  158. 2012NSE says:

163 If they didn’t have the votes yet, they never will. These elections will scare the piss outta politicians who, unlike some people think, are more concerned with their phony jobs than the “ULTIMATE GOALS OF THE MOTHERLAND UNDER DEAR LEADER.” Obama isn’t charismatic enough to talk them out of the cushiest of any government job.

  159. Tommy_Boy says:

    Wes,

    What is your NY-23 prediction?

  160. Benny says:

    Ok:-))

o now I must go to bed

    looking forward for tomorrow:-))

  161. KnightHawk says:

#166 – Oh I think they will still get the votes in the house… and senate for something, the current senate bill could be cooked there after Tuesday though if gop sweeps.

  162. KnightHawk says:

I don’t want to watch slimeball, what’s the import of the video though?

  163. Wes says:

I’m saying 52-41 for Hoffman, Tommy. What do you predict?

  164. jason says:

“If tomorrow the GOP sweeps all three races, I no longer want to hear about the all powerful MSM determining our future.”

Sorry, if there is a sweep its in IN SPITE of the MSM. If the MSM was fair there would be no contest in NJ, Corzine is a disaster yet both the NYT and the Philly Inquirer endorsed him. Is their impact the same as before? No, but in a close race they could make a difference.

Go to any MSM site right now, its all about “right wingers” and tea partiers taking over the party and how “the GOP still has a lot of problems and only 20% are GOP” and “Dede endorses Owens” and “McDonnell leads despite his thesis”.

You have to be blind to underestimate the power of the MSM to shape the the debate and to define the talking points. That is why Fox News is such a thorn, they don’t follow the script.

If the MSM did its job, Dodd and Rangel and Murtha and the other crooks that support Obama would have to resign. What impact would that have.

The MSM does shape our future and countering its power will be the one of the biggest challenges in 2010.

  165. KnightHawk says:

Ok so even sissy Mathews suspects doughboy is going to win?

  166. 2012NSE says:

171 anything they get will be a moral victory. The fight is pretty much over in the Senate. Pelosi can vote on whatever she wants cause all its gonna do is expose the big libs in the house. Anything important will die in the Senate.

Though we may have to worry about what they ram down in 2010 after some are voted out but still in office.

  167. pitchaboy says:

When the polls close, Chris Matthews will feel an electric bolt going up his rear end tomorrow.

  168. KnightHawk says:

Jason (174) save your breath, bunch of people mentioned the same thing when the same comment was made a day or two ago by the same person.

  169. Benny says:

    my prediction for tomorrow is

    VA:
    Bob McDonnell 55%
    Creigh Deeds 43%

    NJ
    Chris Christie 47%
    Jon Corzine 45%
    Chris Dagett 08%

    NY
    Doug Hoffman 52%
    Bill Owens 39%
    Dede Scozzafava 09%

  170. KnightHawk says:

#178 – He might enjoy that sensation though.

  171. GA Voter says:

Watch the city of Atlanta tomorrow. It’s mayor time and for the first time in decades a white woman is putting the brakes on city fraud. It might end up in a run-off, but the race is important for a variety of reasons. The city of Atlanta runs the Hartsfield-Jackson airport which is rampant with corruption. Crime is up and the police are being let go. Georgia Tech is located near downtown and has had a rash of robberies. Very sad to send your kid to a top notch school and have to deal with crime.

  172. Wes says:

Too bad the GOP’s unlike to take out the Dem in CA-10. :(

  173. Phil says:

Guys, my gut is Christie in NJ

That said, these polls are nuts.

PPP looks right to me and not just because I like the results – D + 8 looks correct to me. I really think the makeup of the electorate will look pretty much like that.

Encouraging also is SUSA has a D+11 giving Christie a 3 pt lead.

  174. Tommy_Boy says:

    Wes,

52/37/10 HOffman/Owens/Dede. That was my prediction prior to her dropping out.

  175. Wes says:

I find this amazing: Almost every big city in the country is Dem-dominated. Almost all of the big cities consistently put up huge numbers for the Dem candidates in elections. Coincidence? Hell, no!

  176. Tommy_Boy says:

    KH,

Hardball isn’t that bad in my opinion. I wouldn’t really lump him in with a jackass like Olbermann. Matthews has been down on Obama and the dems for quite some time. I like the guys’ political analysis, even if his views are outrageous.

  177. Phil says:

Wes, just coming within high single digits in Cal 10 is really an accomplishment in that bluest of blue districts. A shame for us to waste such a good candidate there.

  178. Wes says:

Well, PPP–a pollster with a clear Dem bent–has Christie up, so Christie could possibly pull this one out.

  179. Wes says:

Still, picking one off from the Dems would be a sweet victory to go along with the others, Phil.

  180. Phil says:

Oh, I’d love it. If that happened you’d see an instant shock wave on capital hill. Suddenly, Pelosi would find her healthcare votes had disappeared.

  181. Tommy_Boy says:

If you want a real good laugh, check out Professor Victoria M. DeFrancisco Soto’s post at Politico’s Arena. LOL

Tell me what you think of this babe, Phil.

  183. Chekote says:

I was flipping through the channels and saw that that scum of Levi Johnston was on Insider. The kid is so addicted to fame and keeps stooping lower and lower just to stay in the limelight. Really sickening.

  184. jones says:

192- There should be a prize named after that bit of bad analysis.

  185. Chekote says:

    When do polls close?

  186. Brandon says:

    8 PM in Jersey.

  187. jason says:

There is a video at Gateway Pundit of Obama’s guru and mentor praising Marxism in a speech on Sept. 17, 2009

“You dispel all the negative images we have been programmed to conjure up with just the mention of that word socialism or Marxism.”

He called America “land of the greed and home of the slave.”

There is no reference of this on MSM of course. But say it was Bush’s pastor or former pastor that made any kind of controversial statement, it would be on every front page and every news outlet.

  188. Brandon says:

Though don’t expect results for a while. Notoriously slow counters here.

  189. Wes says:

Tommy I can’t watch him after 2004 and the swiftboat crap, let alone the BS last year.

  193. Wes says:

    Virginia closes at 7:00.

  194. Brandon says:

Wasn’t Matthews a huge Hillary supporter in the primary?

  195. Wes says:

You know, 2012, my Wife frequently accuses me of adultery. I have no idea why.

  196. Tommy_Boy says:

“Wasn’t Matthews a huge Hillary supporter in the primary?”

Hell no. He was absolutely in the tank for Obama. He pretty much used “murder” analogies with Hillary.

  197. Wes says:

Wow! McCain didn’t carry a single county in New Hampshire.

  198. KnightHawk says:

    LOL Jason! (#203)

  199. 2012NSE says:

207 so long as you look don’t touch whats the problem? But be careful, she is a Marine, so when she walks in the room she probably has already thought of 8 different ways to kill you.

  200. Tommy_Boy says:

#211, that was the one time Matthews was objective with Obama. After all, this was a man whose leg tingled at the very sight of Obama.

  201. Wes says:

    Good point, 2012.

  202. jason says:

“I was flipping through the channels and saw that that scum of Levi Johnston was on Insider.”

The former boyfriend of Sarah Palin’s daughter is put on national TV to badmouth her, but heck the MSM is not biased.

  203. Brandon says:

#213. The SOS sites are always slow. News outlets always report faster.

  204. 2012NSE says:

btw wes, I get bothered when people talk about how huge he won the electoral college. It was a lot bigger then the difference in the popular vote. Oh well, that system will never change.

  205. Wes says:

Amazing, Jason, Johnston makes himself look more idiotic every time he’s on TV. Juliet Huddy was gushing over him on RedEye a few weeks ago though. Just goes to show Fox News’ right-wing bias! That last was sarcasm for all who didn’t get it.

  206. Wes says:

I’m glad the Electoral College is in place, 2012. Of course it did give us George W Bush in 2000, but we can overlook mistakes like that every now and then.

  207. gs says:

I guess F.D.U. received graft from Corzine as well.

  208. Phil says:

The CNN election center web site is far and away the best and fastest in terms of election numbers.

  209. Wes says:

CNN’s very detailed, Phil. It even does a county-by-county breakdown. By the way, Phil, what did you think of that pic I posted of Rebecca Grant?

  210. Wes says:

Graft is right, Gs. Merriam-Webster has one of the definitions of graft as unfair gain. That pretty much sums up the Dem Party in New Jersey.

  211. Brandon says:

Fox News usually has fast results on TV as well.

  212. Phil says:

    All I can say is

    HOLY SHIT!

  213. Chekote says:

I am sure cable news will carry the results.

  214. Brandon says:

#223. Yes, those county-by-county breakdowns and maps are invaluable. They are great.

  215. Wes says:

I take it you like the way Ms Grant looks, Phil. She’s definitely one reason to watch the NFL on Fox.

  216. Wes says:

Do you consider us guys pigs, Chek?

  217. Phil says:

I like the maps on CNN – click the county on the map and instant number – percentages, raw vote, precincts reporting – it has it all.

I have a spreadsheet I made of all the county results in Corzine vs Forester in 2005. Corzine won by 10.5 statewide. I’ll be able to instantly be able to tell if Christie is running the 11% ahead of Forester in each county that he needs to give him a statewide win. Should give me a moment by moment take on where Christie is in relation to the numbers he needs.

  218. Phil says:

    You guys are killing me!

  219. Wes says:

Not quite as hot as Rebecca, Knight, but definitely screwable.

  220. KnightHawk says:

Some would might say perfection , but to each his own .

  221. Brandon says:

#232. You can watch Atlantic County, it has come within 0.5% of the statewide total in the past 3 elections.

  222. Wes says:

Well, guys, it’s time to get ready for Monday Night Football. Catch you all tomorrow.

  223. jason says:

The NJ Sec of State link kindly provided by D.QUIXOTE already has Corzine the winner, the numbers to be shown at a later time.

  224. Phil says:

Thanks Brandon. I’ll watch that one carefully. You are right. Corzine won Atlantic by 10.1% and the state by 10.5%.

  225. steve says:

Anyone been following the Maine Gay Marriage vote?

  226. jason says:

“You can watch Atlantic County, it has come within 0.5% of the statewide total in the past 3 elections.”

Yep, Christie will have to run a lot better there than McCain. It was 56.88% Obama 41.85% McCain.

  227. jason says:

Watch Essex and Camden counties. Obama rolled up huge majorities there 75-23 and 67-31 respectively, 40% of his margin came from these two counties. If Corzine is not getting that much or turnout is lower than the rest of the state in these counties it will be good for Christie.

Planned Parenthood Director Quits After Watching Abortion on Ultrasound

“Abby Johnson, 29, used to escort women from their cars to the clinic in the eight years she volunteered and worked for Planned Parenthood… she says she knew it was time to leave after she watched a fetus “crumple” as it was vacuumed out of a patient’s uterus in September.”

“Johnson said she became disillusioned with her job after her bosses pressured her for months to increase profits by performing more and more abortions, which cost patients between $505 and $695.”

“Every meeting that we had was, ‘We don’t have enough money, we don’t have enough money — we’ve got to keep these abortions coming,’” Johnson told FoxNews.com. “It’s a very lucrative business and that’s why they want to increase numbers.”

“…Johnson said her bosses told her to change her “priorities” and focus on abortions, which she said made money for the office at a time when the recession has left them hurting.”

  234. rdelbov says:

My only suggestion to PHIL-how dare I do that- is also to look out turnout. That may be hard to do until after all results are in. For instance in 2006 Essex county was 6.7 or so % of total votes. In 2008 it was 7.25 % or so of total votes.

So a lower vote and a lower % of votes in democrat areas could doom Corzine.

Also wish I knew more about Intrade as at 9 cents per share I could make a killing on my theory and its so cheap its pretty much almost a risk free deal to make a killing….gotta have to make a few bucks now while I can as ScaryCare will kill our economy almost immediately lol

Problem is that I suspect the Intrade “Obamacare” is the full deal with the public option – I dont think that public option will make it to Thanksgiving as even a viable diversion…..unless the D REALLY dont care and try that reconciliation or other legislative tricks…

A GOP sweep and you can rest assured that HC reform is dead. The BlueFrauds have been dragging their feet ever since the summer (after the townhall protests) waiting to see the election outcome.

  265. Tim V says:

279- yes, mostly she is but $300 a month isn’t bad. she donates it to a charity. i told her you had mellowed.

  266. Tim V says:

chek, she made a prediction on the hhr prediction thread.

say something sweet to wes, and make his day.

    im out.

I have been busy with life. I think she believed that this site would be over without her. MD thought the same but realized his folly. My mom gave always said: “Everybody is useful. But no one is indispensable.” That advice has kept me grounded.

  268. Chekote says:

    Wes is brilliant.

    #285 Chek

You’re wrong. Derek Jeter is indispensable to the Yankees.

  270. Chekote says:

Apparently Newt is angry at Scozza for endorsing Owens. Boy, Newt really stepped into it this time. He is too impulsive.

  271. Chekote says:

    #287

Jeter can and will be replaced by someone else. It is life. Never believe that you are too valuable to lose your job. The moment you start thinking that is the moment you will be fired.

  272. Chekote says:

    Wes

Are you going to be around tomorrow night?

  273. Chekote says:

Yankees let the Phillies win so that they can clinch the World Series at home.

  274. walt says:

Sticking with my original NY23 prediction

    “New York [fingers crossed...]
    Hoffman 47%
    Owens 43%
    Scozzafava 10%”

    ***** ***** ***** *****
My Halloween eve “sources” had already tipped me off that DeDe was going to drop out. I think my “sources” are friends with some of Eph’s ghosts.

So, I do not have to do any DeDe doo doo redo.

  275. Marv says:

    Eph,

    Are you around tonight?

  276. Karl R Rove says:

Chekote, your #s don’t show Dede, who is still on the ballot and will still get absentee votes and straight GOP votes:

    “New York

    Hoffman 52%
    Owens 48%”

  277. Chekote says:

    ’til tomorrow. G-nite everyone.

  278. Chekote says:

    #294

    Hoffman 52%
    Owens 44%
    Dede 4%

  279. theoneandonlyfinn says:

Wouldn’t it be something if Christie wins by a surprisingly larger margin than previously thought?

    Christie 50%
    Corzine 43%
    Daggett 5%
    Others 2%

I wouldnt mind if this came true.

I just dont see such enthusiasm of Corzine when hes at below 40% approval in the whole damn state, and no energized Democratic electorate.

  280. Marv says:

    #297 finn,

I share you enthusiasm, but I just can’t see Cristie getting 50%. My official prediction is a Christie win will 47-44-8-1. The most that I can see happening in a “big night” scenario in NJ is Chrisite at 48-44-7-1

Stop it with the Chekote-obsession, gay sex references, and stupid sleazy women pictures! Those are all actions more typical of liberals.

    From CNS News:

“Republican Sen. Orrin Hatch of Utah, who has served in the Senate for 33 years and is a longtime member of the Judiciary Committee, told CNSNews.com that he does not believe the Democrats’ health-care reform plan is constitutionally justifiable, noting that if the federal government can force Americans to buy health insurance “then there is literally nothing the federal government can’t force us to do.”

What would politics be without a little sleaze.

Coyote, Senator Hatch is correct about that.

I look forward to this day with great hope and anticipation. I also woke up to the news that the leader of Planned Parenthood resigned after watching and ulatrasound. Praise God. I have always said that if you want an abortion you should have to watch one first. Here’s hoping for what we want to happen in today’s elections.

  287. sharon says:

whoops.. I meant to say an ultrasound of an abortion procedure.

  288. jason says:

    Has a new day dawned?

  289. knova says:

307 – in about 20 minutes I am going to go do my part in VA to see that the new day has dawned. we don’t need a simple victory, we need to roll up the score.

  290. jason says:

“The Democratic State Committee now admits paying for a robocall to Somerset County voters that slams Republican Chris Christie and promotes independent gubernatorial candidate Christopher Daggett.

A Democratic spokeswoman says the party’s chairman, Joe Cryan, was not aware of the robocalls when he denied that the state committee had anything to do with them yesterday afternoon.”

I would say the dirty tricks begin, but of course, they are not beginning, just continuing.

    Morning gang.

  292. Tina says:

I signed off yesterday after another reference by Wes on Bush. He is entitled to write anuthinghe wants, but it serves no purpose to blast him at this point.
