Polls Close In New York
Virginia is already in the back pocket of the Republican Party with a statewide sweep of the top three positions (sorry Washington Post, you lose). Technically, Michael Bloomberg is on his way to victory on the Republican line, although nobody would mistake him for a Republican. Now the fun really begins with the results from New York 23.
This is fun….

Is there a link to these results?
25% reporting; 49-44 Christie. It’s tightening up.

isn’t Mike B an Indie now?
Are the urban areas reporting?
Christie winning Union? Wow.
#4 – it will continue to tighten a bit.
50/43 29% in
Christie good news: higher margin then expected in Ocean and Monmouth, actually winning Gloucester so far I expected it a very close loss.
Bad news is ton of D area yet to report, Camden though is looking tigher then I expected. +7C vs +10 I thought.
#8 – Not fully by any stretch yet.
#13 Yup
We need to turnout numbers for the Dems counties. Even if Corzine has a big margin, the raw number might not be enough. This is nerve wracking.
Very little D counties counted??
Somehow Christie is winning Union county so far.
damn hold back precincts
Brandon what’s your feel based on what’s in so far?
Yup, they withhold and then it will get tighter.
51/42 32% in
32% reporting, 51-42, Christie
anybody with a link for NY 23 ?
They hold back to see how many votes they need. Please Christie have lawyers ready. The Dems NEED TO be taught a lesson.
Essex still looks okay.
Dems are scrambling DUTV is now in full force.

Daggett down to only 5%
#30
This is an area that the GOP needs to focus on. We will need it for 2010.
Karl Rove on FOX saying he thinks Christie pulls it off.
He blew 2006 but he is a number cruncher.
Daggett = Sock Puppet.

Hannity is so frickin’ boring and repititious.
Tapper will get fired for that. He is not keeping up with the company line.
How is Wolfie doing? Is Rino GErgen upset? How is Roland Martin?
Wow, McDonnell up 20. Loving this!

Daggett down to 5!!!
Wow!!!
Gloucester 47-44 213/232 reporting
Is it me or does it appear that all the Dem counties are holding off releasing any numbers?
Is it just me or has Hannity become more and more painful to listen to as time goes on? Its like a cardboard cutout with Republican talking points on a tape loop.
LOL Tapper.
Gergen is not even a RINO. He is Dem lap dog. Started under Clinton.
and so far mary norwood the white female republican is winning in atlanta with 8% in: Mary Norwood 930 43% Kasim Reed 776 37% of course a long long way to go but we’ll see what happens there too!
Chekote – you are changing, I like it.
what website are you getting nj raw #’s off of?
#47
It is not just you. I stopped watching him months ago. If it weren’t for the election, I would be watching Dancing with the Stars right now.
at what point do we get out of the MOF?
No, the Dem areas have reported quite a bit for it being early still.

Where is Tapper?
52/42, 36% in
Agreed on Hannity, he is too wild, gets a lot of stuff wrong. i like Levin the best.
You never get out of the MOF, that is what the Rs have to keep in mind for the future.
50. Runoff. The Black Panthers an Acorn hit Atlanta
Very interested in seeing Middlesex results. Very slow to report…
Has Newark come in yet???????????
Re turnout…with roughly half the vote in from Essex Corzine is leading by 28k votes…he got a plurality of over 85k votes in 2005. He won’t get there tonight.
In 2005 180k votes were cast in Essex. We are at 242/551 precints and about 75k votes cast. Not getting to 180k in Essex.
Levin is solid. Plus, he has studied the issues. Knows what he is talking about. Hannity just learned a couple of talking points and Reagan speeches and repeats them incessantly.
Passaic County….Corzine won by 20k in 2005. With 33% in he has a lead of 3k.
And so on the line. I think Christie wins.
As I look at Dave’s chart, really the ONLY Jersey county to worry about is Essex. Where is the county-by-county results? Link?
The Kos kids have given up on NJ
Hey!! Sean is a great guy with flaws. He does a Paul Revere on Elections, but I want him in my foxhole.
Gosh, I have to agree with Chekote again???
I don’t see how Corzine wins, where do the votes to catch up come from?
Found it. Tapper is hilarious: http://twitter.com/jakeTapper
Candem is at 45% and Corzine is not even ahead by double digits. Is this a good sign?
Boys and girls, Corzine at 15 cents in Intrade; any takers
I have to leave in 5 minutes, so I go dark until after 9 PST.
Sorry gang.
Just saw Jason’s numbers from Essex — I REALLY think Christie is going to win now.
Um, Christie wins Monmouth by 31 when Forrester only by 8 in 2005.
Its lookin like Corzine blew the money on TV ads
and not GOTV
http://hosted.ap.org/dynamic/files/elections/2009/by_county/NJ_Governor_1103.html?SITE=AP&SECTION=POLITICS
Hoffman down by 12 votes with <1% in.
This sucks….I wanted to be around to see the Marxist Professor lose.
40% in,. 52-42 Christie
A Conservative Broadcating in NYC, is like Reagan living in Moscow. Give him a break.
I’m sure I’d love to have a drink with Sean, but he’s just a broken record at this point. He was a good voice in the earlier days, but I think the torch has been passed to better Conservative voices.
Christie officially won Gloucester. Wow, it looks odd to see that Red.
49/44, 44% in.
Guys, I think Christie is going to win and it might be big. He is up huge in GOP strongholds and is performing well in areas Corzine had to.
GOTV does not work there is no enthusiasm; as I said, even Corzine’smom was not enthused.
74. A great sign…Corzine won Camdem by 22k votes
Tina you are all that.
Bye gang, I also miss the V season opener.
Then again, many Dem strongholds have to still be counted but I really like Christie’s numbers.
While we are not looking, VA is closing.
With 85%, McDonnell 60 Deeds 40
We shall see, remember, the Obumbler’s weekend appearances may have harmed Corzine more – the Campaign spot person showed Corzine #s going down each time the Obumbler came into town.
85. D Fair enough, but Sean was my rock in 2004
72…area cemeteries?
#78 = but he needed too remember, corzine won by 10 last time.
This Luntz focus group is awful.
#94.. LOL
2009 is the gag reflex to 2008.
http://rsmccain.blogspot.com/2009/11/ny23-election-results-hq.html
9:20 p.m.: Watertown office of Hoffman campaign reports “strong” Republican turnout. GOP turnout in Plattsburgh also reported strong, lower turnout for Democrats.
9:15 p.m.: Hoffman press aide Sandy Caligiore: “We will win a close election.” Conservative Party official Jim Kelly said he expects Hoffman to win a 42%-45 plurality in the three-way race. Remember that, even though Dede Scozzafava suspended her campaign on Sunday, her name is still on the ballot.
Folks, as I stare at these county-by-county numbers, I just don’t see where Corzine can get the votes to catch Christie anymore. I’m expecting them to call this one very soon!
I think we have faulty info from somewhere, Politico shows that Corzine won Sussex big which makes no sense.
http://www.politico.com/election/2009/maps/#/NJ
If you are watching Lutz on Fox. One guy said that Bush was in the WH for 16 years. You have to be ignorant to vote Dem.
Luntz focus groups, these are always painful to listen to. Don’t you want to yell out, “Objection! Leading the witness!”
“A great sign…Corzine won Camdem by 22k votes”
—
yup only by 8% this time, 30% last time, though only about 50% in.
#60 I agree on Hannity. I have seen D who come on his shows or call in repeat stale leftist talking points make him look like a monkey. I mean simple stuff that any thinking conservative should knock out of the park with ease. Its infuriating since he has such a large audience and he could be much more effective if he would study then clearly articulate issues and conservative principles. I also think that he sometimes looks down on talking in specifics and thinks that details may “bore” his audiance. Problem is, the average guy or gals tunes into shows like his because they are interested in the details….
44% in, and its 49/44 for Christie. Still too close for me to get too excited.
Intrade has Christie at 72%, still hate the site
#105, Yeah, he said “Bushes”. he must have forgotten Bubba’s 8.
Sussex county results make no sense. I have to think they got the candidates backwards.
Holy crap, these folks in the Luntz focus group are going nuts on each other lol
The Obama people are going nuts lol
Now its “we have to be bipartisan” and “why cant we all get along” lol
46% in now, still 49-44
?? Yeah, that sounds backwards, Brandon.
#108
Completely agree.
what the hell is going on with sussex?
I wish they had Barone on looking at the Jersey numbers instead of Luntz.
If this pans out, it officially ends ObamaCare and Cap and Trade.
I agree on Sussex — hope they get that fixed soon. Christie folks, are you listening?
48%, 49-44 still
That’s with the Sussex numbers… AP put it in.
#102 I give it up to “boxhead” Joe Biden for the huge Owens comeback lol
53% in, 49-45, Christie
Where are my Pennsylvania homies?
What is up with the Supreme Court Race
Maine Gay marriage anyone
Is there any chance that Dave has the Sussex numbers turned around?
#122 there’s got to be a screw up there
Why do you all think that Sussex is wrong?
#126. No Corzine lost it by 25 points in 2005.
Last trade 92-14.
Forrester pulled over 60% in 2005 in Sussex didn’t he?
Brandon look at the Sussex number, 100% AP must be reversing that data.
There is no way in hell corzine got 40% there let alone 69%
the sussex county official site has no numbers
yet. No way Corzine even gets close there .
Is Shep Smith on tonight?
Ugh, why is Shep on? Please just go to PMSNBC where you belong.
NJ SoS reporting christie lost 64-26 in sussex
Who are the studs who bought Christie at 40%????
Chris is at 92 at Intrade
Is something wrong with the Sussex vote? It shows Corzine winning big but he lost big there in 2005…might me inverted.
#136. Impossible, they have to have the numbers backwards. They better not let those numbers be certified.
GET SHEP SMITH OFF THE TV! Tired of this metrosexual, left-leaning wussie.
correction: NTY has that on their site
“Sussex
100.0% Precincts Reporting
winner Corzine: 63.9%
Christie: 30,456 Votes 25.7%
Daggett:12,260 Votes 9.1%”
That got to be straight up wrong.
Jack ross can you say typo
Even Schundler got 60% in Sussex.
in 2008, McCain won Sussex 59%-38%. Clearly they have these numbers backwards.
link
Hip music for McDonnell. Sounds a little gay club but that’s okay. We are a big tent.
Shep needs to come out of the closet.
One such stud reporting Jason;I have been telling you guys to buy it. Unfortunately, got skiddish and sold at 65, could have waited. No complaints, made 25 cents per contract.
#147
Wrong! Shep needs to go into a closet and NEVER come out.
LOL Chekote
143: its NJ, where a typo becomes certified.
http://www.sussexcountyclerk.com/ELECTION%20pages/elec_results.html
Christie is still winning Bergen (439/553 in)
#150 bartman
Korat RTAFB, Thailand (answer to your question a few threads down)
151- That’s what I’m worried about, including idiots at the TV stations if this comes down to the wire.
58% in, 49-44, Christie
Bergen is very tight.
151,LOL right on Brother.
ameister – Thanks.
“jimgeraghty
Big revelation from RCP guys: Corzine would need 53 percent of a two-man race in remaining precincts; unlikely.http://tinyurl.com/ylrjrqr”
157 – Chek that is good, if he can keep that where it is, and keep passaic close.
Don’t worry about Sussex. the #’s are flipped.
Hoffman is behind.
It would be nice to send Corzilla to the Goldman Sachs Retirement Home for Billionaires along with Rubin,Paulson and Bernake
Christie is winning Atlantic, a classic bellweather!
They fixed Sussex.
Essex running out of gas, Corzine can still milk Hudson and Camdem for some votes but he is running out of good counties.
where is a link to the NY_23 race?
with 60% in, it going to be real hard to sway the averages.
With half reporting, Deeds and McDonnell are basically tied in Fairfax County.
Christie up by 100k…fat lady is out…
Owens wins Clinton County, as predicted. East will go Owens.
Hoffman wins some small western.
Less than 1% have reported on NY_23. that’s not even worth a look yet.
They just flipped the Sussex numbers. 51-43 Christie
politico just switched sussex to christie on their site
I am starting to think that Christie might be outside the MOF.
Unfortunately Corzine is headed right to
Washington
The coyote is howling tonight – big nite for those who love Liberty!
AP has now corrected Sussex.
Might be time for a Cuban cigar,,,say a Montecristo
What about Mercer? Burlington? Salem? How do they lean?
Nj is looking a litte red for a blue state
#181. GOP, GOP, Tossup.
This WOP is a very happy man at the moment. If Christie can hold on and Hoffman win, I just may make a big batch of cannoli and eat myself to a stuper with a nice bottle of red wine.
Corzine getting killed in Morris…Christie will have a 45k vote cushion there.
Christie up by 96k and they’re almost done counting Essex.
Err, I meant Dem for Mercer, that’s where Trenton is.
Marv,
Thanks for your service. What did you do?
#176 – Don’t make that assumption just yet.
SUSSEX FLIPPED TO GOP – per NYTimes
http://elections1.ec2.nytimes.com/2009/results/new-jersey.html
so it was a typo after all
didnt change the overall amount though\
http://elections.nytimes.com/2009/results/other.html
#184
I am a WOP too!!!!
McDonnell is winning Loudon/PrinceWilliam/Manassas in a landslide.
Man it will be glorious to see Corzine give a concession speech tonight before I go to bed. Almost there…
remember 180k+ mail ballots requested, nearly none counted yet.
Pitchaboy is checking out the pitch on the fat lady’s vocals; she will start singing any moment
where is everyone getting NY23 #’s at? i can’t find them anywhere
Howl Coyote! Howl you silly bastard to the moon! Corzine is about to get his arse handed to him but more importantly, so is Obama!
Corzine concede tonight? HA! He’ll never do that
Wow, Hoffman getting killed so far.
do we dare hope for CA-10?
Yeah Brandon I was gonna say Mercer u pull that
one its not a landslide its an earthquake LOL
Bergen holding even, Passaic dipping more eek.
Hoffman is down 1000 votes…are there wide disparities in the district?
54% Owens
42% Hoffman
8% in
Hmm. Now the numbers are slowly coming out in NY _23. Not good so far, but very early. 54-42, Owens. 8% in.
200 – What are the numbers so far there I’ve not looked.
Only 8% in might be Owen’s home town or something
82,000 vote margin in NJ.
#207. 53/42, 8% in.
what is the over /under of Lautenberg resigning tommorow, so Christie cannot appoint.
Menendez is a indictment away also, right Brandon
Christie has about 90K margin.
Where is Eph?
Bluejersey.com “Things are looking bad for Corzine”
#198 I am yipping it up tonight! The Obama and far left power grab stops tonight. I want my children to live in a nation that respects individual rights, freedoms and PEOPLE not collectivist, dehumanizing, BS!
http://hotair.com/archives/2009/11/03/open-thread-ny-23/
“There is good take away from these early numbers.
Clinton County is going 58% for Owens. They went 60% for Obama. No big suprise there.
Madison County is going 56% for Hoffman. They went 48% for Mccain, 49% for Obama.
We should be watching Madison county to look at wider district trends.”
The Hill reports Hoffman win?

60% of votes in, and CC is up 6% at 50%.
That is VERY TIGHT????????????????????????

10% in, 51-44 Owens
Luntz will be back. Any wages of fights breaking out between the Obama/black defenders and the McDonnell people?
For you guys who hate Intrade today is a lesson; Corzine was 80 cents at 5.20 and 6 cents now. It is nothing but gambling on available data and rumors.
Christie up by 97K
13% in, 50-45, Owens
49% Owens
46% Hoffman
12% in
50/45, 13% in…Owens up
Hudson and Essex are only like 50% in… so there are chit load of corzine votes still out there… but yeah thinking are starting to look very good for Christie.
Owens strength: Clinton/Essex/Franklin/
Fulton/Hamilton
Hoffmans strength: Madison/Oneida/
Oswego
funny:
Douglas L. Hoffman’s first congressional campaign stop in Watertown had more campaign staff — three — than attendees.
Three months later, the Conservative Party candidate in the 23rd Congressional District race was a bigger draw here than the vice president of the United States.

#222 I think they will be throwing chairs at each other lol
For some reason the Obamaites can understand why people there dont what to go meekly along with socialism or if nothing else arent happy with the loss of everytype of job imaginable in the state save government ones….
Chekote #222,
Last segment of Luntz reminded me of a Springer show. I can’t wait to see Hannity and Rove run in and start dragging the voters apart.
forgot one…
Owens strength: Clinton/Essex/Franklin/
Fulton/Hamilton
Hoffmans strength: Madison/Oneida/
Oswego
Dedes strength: Jefferson/Lewis/

From NRO Campaign Spot:
“NY-23 Looking a Little Too Close for Comfort?
I, among others, thought that Conservative Doug Hoffman was likely to win New York’s special election by a wide margin. But exit polls put him up by about 4 percentage points, and word out of their camp was that they expect to “win a close election.”

Now Corzine has to win the last 36% by a 12 point spread to get close. Bye Bye Corzine
Hannity “best goup?” I thought they sounded like uninformed idiots.
“Its about our kids?”
Knighthawk,
Essex County is 84% in! Corzine’s last gasp is Hudson — and there just aren’t enough votes there.
Crossing my fingers for a sweep
Oh great, the mad voters voted GOP. Can we give the msm some more fodder for tomorrow’s spin.
Pitch, Corzine is facing Goose Gossage in his prime right now.
“by a 12 point spread to get close. ” – He’s got that and then some probably in the mail in ballots, less Christie keeps a ~100k lead.
RS says Hoffman is looking good.
Yikes, 17% in; 51-44 Owens. Any reason to be worried yet?
#239 – me refreshing me pages now.
hoffman down 885 votes. kinda wish the overseas soldiers of the 10th mountain had a chance to vote.
Brandon is too be congratulated for his year long info on Nj. Thanks Again
#238 “the kids” sheessshh, the kids always need more socialism and less freedom according to these flat earth thinkers????
Why dont we just channel King George the 3rd so he can rule “for our own good” lol
new thread. Nice work dave.
Greta….you go girl!
Did you notice the liberal woman saying that we need to do something now! People are dying. What an idiot!
Knighthawk, most of the precincts have reported 100%, including their mailed in ballots. This party is over.
Cameron looks like he has been partaking in the open bar there.
GOP picks up a State Senate seat in Mich.
Mike Nofs
We just need Hoffman now, anyone know if the areas still out are Hoffman areas?
Fox says it may not be decided tonight..I don’t see it that close…unless there are a lot of absentee ballots to be counted…
Well after 2008, the DEMS had a 29-21 Advantage in Governorships.
It is now hopefully 26-24.
AZ went GOP after Janet N. took over Homeland in AZ
#252 That lady is an emotional fool. They are dying because, well people die frankly. Because they have to pay more then they may like for HC has ZERO to do with it. Everyone in this country has access to the BEST HC in the world. Based on every demographic and every major illness you have a MUCH better survival rate in this nation then anywhere else on the planet earth!!!
On the other hand, TEN OF MILLIONS WILL DIE EARLIER and in MORE PAIN if Obamacare is allowed to break our HC system. Thounds of doctors will leave the profession and the flow of life savings drugs/technology will STOP or be significantly reduced….
But hey, all of us except those cool ruling elite types like Obama will have “equal” crappy HC ala Cuba….
257. It begins. You would think a wealthy Billionaire like Corzine, who grew up in Farm Town IL would be a Gentleman.
Apparently, Owen’s base is in:
http://rsmccain.blogspot.com/2009/11/ny23-election-results-hq.html
10:05 p.m.: There have been reports of problems with voting machines in the district. However, early returns from Clinton County — home territory for Democrat Bill Owens — indicate a Hoffman victory. Total turnout for Republicans was stronger than for Democrats in that key county.
In a conference call with bloggers, Susan B. Anthony List President Marjorie Dannenfelser just described the apparent conservative surge as “an organic movement that is rising up.” SBA list put more than 200 volunteers into the 23rd District and distributed more than 100,000 pieces of literature on behalf of the Hoffman campaign.
uhm, i think politico just called the race for christie? they just put a check mark by his name for total state results
Four towns in St. Lawrence Co., in NY-23, will be counted tomorrow.
Not maybe a big deal, as SLC is Hoffman’s county.
KRR
I looked county by county…I don’t see where Corzine can make up 100k votes. His best bet is Hudson but he might net 30k more there.
http://www.politico.com/election/2009/maps/#/NJ
AP called it for Christie?
and AP just declared christie the winner
AP call it for Christie…calls for champagne….
Where the hell are Wes and Polaris?
COrzine is out 35 million from his own pocket..how poetic….
Wes is still sore from the beatdown he received
Marxist AP?
YESSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSS
Probably in a bar celebrating….
#260 None of these statist thugs qualify as “gentlemen” or “ladies”. They basically want to use the force of government to make you live/behave in a manner they see fit. Given that’s there underlying philosophy of government/life, its a logical step to use “any means necessary” since they feel justified to rule over others. The reason they dont try or get away with even more is that a vast majority of the American public still hold to the notion of fair play (although that is steady eroding year by year as the amount of nutty far left types grows).
Juan Williams said on Fox that the Daggett vote imploded – the anti-Corzine vote went back to Christe as Polaris predicted here….
Tommy are we cool. I was too hyped today.
Jason,
I’ll let it go. I was dead wrong about everything today. So I have egg on my face.
Kudos to Polaris, he called Dagget the Quisling’s fade out.
By the way, we need Hoffman to fucking win this thing. Does anyone know why he’s trailign right now?
Anybody notice that Bloomberg is in a really really tight race?
Does anyone care??
AP call is great news!!!
Ring the bell accross the land for Liberty!!!
AP calls NJ for CC
http://hosted.ap.org/dynamic/files/elections/2009/by_state/NJ_Page_1103.html?SITE=AP

Gop pick Up-Va
Gop pick up-NJ
Gop pick up Mich State Senate
Any add ons
How the hell is wimp Matt Lauer and Millionaire Lefty Merideth going to spin this with Chuck Todd Manana?
Fox has the big CHECK by Christe too but has not announced the call for the race – wait its on now~!
