Polls Close In New York

Virginia is already in the back pocket of the Republican Party with a statewide sweep of the top three positions (sorry Washington Post, you lose). Technically, Michael Bloomberg is on his way to victory on the Republican line, although nobody would mistake him for a Republican. Now the fun really begins with the results from New York 23.

This is fun….

#8 – Not fully by any stretch yet.

  14. phoenixrisen says:

    #13 Yup

  15. Chekote says:

We need to turnout numbers for the Dems counties. Even if Corzine has a big margin, the raw number might not be enough. This is nerve wracking.

  16. Tina says:

    Very little D counties counted??

  17. Brandon says:

Somehow Christie is winning Union county so far.

  40. Chekote says:

Hannity is so frickin’ boring and repititious.

  41. Tina says:

Tapper will get fired for that. He is not keeping up with the company line.

How is Wolfie doing? Is Rino GErgen upset? How is Roland Martin?

  42. Dusty Wolf says:

Wow, McDonnell up 20. Loving this!

  43. DrJay says:

    Gloucester 47-44 213/232 reporting

  44. Tony says:

Is it me or does it appear that all the Dem counties are holding off releasing any numbers?

  45. Big D (The only Republican/Libertarian kos plant) says:

Is it just me or has Hannity become more and more painful to listen to as time goes on? Its like a cardboard cutout with Republican talking points on a tape loop.

  46. Chekote says:

Gergen is not even a RINO. He is Dem lap dog. Started under Clinton.

  47. f9gopguyin says:

and so far mary norwood the white female republican is winning in atlanta with 8% in: Mary Norwood 930 43% Kasim Reed 776 37% of course a long long way to go but we’ll see what happens there too!

  51. jack ross says:

  56. Tina says:

Agreed on Hannity, he is too wild, gets a lot of stuff wrong. i like Levin the best.

  57. Tina says:

You never get out of the MOF, that is what the Rs have to keep in mind for the future.

  58. Jason T. says:

    50. Runoff. The Black Panthers an Acorn hit Atlanta

  59. RayNJ says:

Very interested in seeing Middlesex results. Very slow to report…

  60. Karl R Rove says:

    Has Newark come in yet???????????

  61. jason says:

Re turnout…with roughly half the vote in from Essex Corzine is leading by 28k votes…he got a plurality of over 85k votes in 2005. He won’t get there tonight.

In 2005 180k votes were cast in Essex. We are at 242/551 precints and about 75k votes cast. Not getting to 180k in Essex.

  62. Chekote says:

Levin is solid. Plus, he has studied the issues. Knows what he is talking about. Hannity just learned a couple of talking points and Reagan speeches and repeats them incessantly.

  63. jason says:

Passaic County….Corzine won by 20k in 2005. With 33% in he has a lead of 3k.

And so on the line. I think Christie wins.

  64. AlN says:

As I look at Dave’s chart, really the ONLY Jersey county to worry about is Essex. Where is the county-by-county results? Link?

  65. Tommy_Boy says:

The Kos kids have given up on NJ

  66. Jason T. says:

Hey!! Sean is a great guy with flaws. He does a Paul Revere on Elections, but I want him in my foxhole.

  67. Tina says:

Gosh, I have to agree with Chekote again???

  68. Big D (The only Republican/Libertarian kos plant) says:

I don’t see how Corzine wins, where do the votes to catch up come from?

  69. Dusty Wolf says:

Found it. Tapper is hilarious: http://twitter.com/jakeTapper

  70. Chekote says:

Candem is at 45% and Corzine is not even ahead by double digits. Is this a good sign?

  71. pitchaboy@aol.com says:

Boys and girls, Corzine at 15 cents in Intrade; any takers

  72. Tina says:

I have to leave in 5 minutes, so I go dark until after 9 PST.

    Sorry gang.

  73. AlN says:

Just saw Jason’s numbers from Essex — I REALLY think Christie is going to win now.

  74. phoenixrisen says:

Um, Christie wins Monmouth by 31 when Forrester only by 8 in 2005.

  75. ameister says:

Its lookin like Corzine blew the money on TV ads
    and not GOTV

  76. Brandon says:

Hoffman down by 12 votes with <1% in.

  77. Tina says:

This sucks….I wanted to be around to see the Marxist Professor lose.

  78. Dusty Wolf says:

    40% in,. 52-42 Christie

  79. Jason T. says:

A Conservative Broadcating in NYC, is like Reagan living in Moscow. Give him a break.

  80. Big D (The only Republican/Libertarian kos plant) says:

I’m sure I’d love to have a drink with Sean, but he’s just a broken record at this point. He was a good voice in the earlier days, but I think the torch has been passed to better Conservative voices.

  81. Brandon says:

Christie officially won Gloucester. Wow, it looks odd to see that Red.

  82. Brandon says:

    49/44, 44% in.

  83. phoenixrisen says:

Guys, I think Christie is going to win and it might be big. He is up huge in GOP strongholds and is performing well in areas Corzine had to.

  84. pitchaboy@aol.com says:

GOTV does not work there is no enthusiasm; as I said, even Corzine’smom was not enthused.

  85. jason says:

    74. A great sign…Corzine won Camdem by 22k votes

  86. Jason T. says:

    Tina you are all that.

  87. Tina says:

Bye gang, I also miss the V season opener.

  88. phoenixrisen says:

Then again, many Dem strongholds have to still be counted but I really like Christie’s numbers.

  89. sam says:

While we are not looking, VA is closing.

    With 85%, McDonnell 60 Deeds 40

  90. Tina says:

We shall see, remember, the Obumbler’s weekend appearances may have harmed Corzine more – the Campaign spot person showed Corzine #s going down each time the Obumbler came into town.

  91. Jason T. says:

    85. D Fair enough, but Sean was my rock in 2004

  92. Darrell says:

    72…area cemeteries?

  93. KnightHawk says:

#78 = but he needed too remember, corzine won by 10 last time.

  94. Dusty Wolf says:

This Luntz focus group is awful.

  95. jack ross says:

2009 is the gag reflex to 2008.

  96. Tommy_Boy says:

    http://rsmccain.blogspot.com/2009/11/ny23-election-results-hq.html

9:20 p.m.: Watertown office of Hoffman campaign reports “strong” Republican turnout. GOP turnout in Plattsburgh also reported strong, lower turnout for Democrats.

9:15 p.m.: Hoffman press aide Sandy Caligiore: “We will win a close election.” Conservative Party official Jim Kelly said he expects Hoffman to win a 42%-45 plurality in the three-way race. Remember that, even though Dede Scozzafava suspended her campaign on Sunday, her name is still on the ballot.

  97. AlN says:

Folks, as I stare at these county-by-county numbers, I just don’t see where Corzine can get the votes to catch Christie anymore. I’m expecting them to call this one very soon!

  98. Brandon says:

I think we have faulty info from somewhere, Politico shows that Corzine won Sussex big which makes no sense.

    http://www.politico.com/election/2009/maps/#/NJ

  99. Chekote says:

If you are watching Lutz on Fox. One guy said that Bush was in the WH for 16 years. You have to be ignorant to vote Dem.

  100. Big D (The only Republican/Libertarian kos plant) says:

Luntz focus groups, these are always painful to listen to. Don’t you want to yell out, “Objection! Leading the witness!”

  101. KnightHawk says:

“A great sign…Corzine won Camdem by 22k votes”

yup only by 8% this time, 30% last time, though only about 50% in.

  102. wylie e. coyote - super genius says:

#60 I agree on Hannity. I have seen D who come on his shows or call in repeat stale leftist talking points make him look like a monkey. I mean simple stuff that any thinking conservative should knock out of the park with ease. Its infuriating since he has such a large audience and he could be much more effective if he would study then clearly articulate issues and conservative principles. I also think that he sometimes looks down on talking in specifics and thinks that details may “bore” his audiance. Problem is, the average guy or gals tunes into shows like his because they are interested in the details….

  103. Darrell says:

44% in, and its 49/44 for Christie. Still too close for me to get too excited.

  104. Jason T. says:

Intrade has Christie at 72%, still hate the site

  105. Dusty Wolf says:

#105, Yeah, he said “Bushes”. he must have forgotten Bubba’s 8.

  106. Brandon says:

Sussex county results make no sense. I have to think they got the candidates backwards.

  107. wylie e. coyote - super genius says:

Holy crap, these folks in the Luntz focus group are going nuts on each other lol

The Obama people are going nuts lol

Now its “we have to be bipartisan” and “why cant we all get along” lol

  108. Dusty Wolf says:

    46% in now, still 49-44

  109. DrJay says:

?? Yeah, that sounds backwards, Brandon.

  110. Chekote says:

    #108

    Completely agree.

  111. jack ross says:

what the hell is going on with sussex?

  112. Chekote says:

I wish they had Barone on looking at the Jersey numbers instead of Luntz.

  113. Jason T. says:

If this pans out, it officially ends ObamaCare and Cap and Trade.

  114. AlN says:

I agree on Sussex — hope they get that fixed soon. Christie folks, are you listening?

  115. Dusty Wolf says:

    48%, 49-44 still

  116. DrJay says:

That’s with the Sussex numbers… AP put it in.

  117. wylie e. coyote - super genius says:

#102 I give it up to “boxhead” Joe Biden for the huge Owens comeback lol

  118. Dusty Wolf says:

    53% in, 49-45, Christie

  119. Jason T. says:

    Where are my Pennsylvania homies?

What is up with the Supreme Court Race

    Maine Gay marriage anyone

  120. AlN says:

Is there any chance that Dave has the Sussex numbers turned around?

  121. phoenixrisen says:

#122 there’s got to be a screw up there

  122. Chekote says:

Why do you all think that Sussex is wrong?

  123. Brandon says:

#126. No Corzine lost it by 25 points in 2005.

  124. Marv says:

    Last trade 92-14.

  125. phoenixrisen says:

Forrester pulled over 60% in 2005 in Sussex didn’t he?

  126. KnightHawk says:

Brandon look at the Sussex number, 100% AP must be reversing that data.
There is no way in hell corzine got 40% there let alone 69%

  127. ameister says:

the sussex county official site has no numbers
yet. No way Corzine even gets close there .

  128. Chekote says:

    Is Shep Smith on tonight?

  129. Dusty Wolf says:

Ugh, why is Shep on? Please just go to PMSNBC where you belong.

  130. jack ross says:

NJ SoS reporting christie lost 64-26 in sussex

  131. Jason T. says:

Who are the studs who bought Christie at 40%????

Chris is at 92 at Intrade

  132. jason says:

Is something wrong with the Sussex vote? It shows Corzine winning big but he lost big there in 2005…might me inverted.

  133. Brandon says:

#136. Impossible, they have to have the numbers backwards. They better not let those numbers be certified.

  134. Chekote says:

GET SHEP SMITH OFF THE TV! Tired of this metrosexual, left-leaning wussie.

  135. jack ross says:

correction: NTY has that on their site

  136. KnightHawk says:

    “Sussex
    100.0% Precincts Reporting
    winner Corzine: 63.9%
    Christie: 30,456 Votes 25.7%
    Daggett:12,260 Votes 9.1%”

That got to be straight up wrong.

  137. Jason T. says:

Jack ross can you say typo

  138. DrJay says:

Even Schundler got 60% in Sussex.

  139. Dave W says:

in 2008, McCain won Sussex 59%-38%. Clearly they have these numbers backwards.

    link

  140. Chekote says:

Hip music for McDonnell. Sounds a little gay club but that’s okay. We are a big tent.

  141. Jason T. says:

Shep needs to come out of the closet.

  142. pitchaboy@aol.com says:

One such stud reporting Jason;I have been telling you guys to buy it. Unfortunately, got skiddish and sold at 65, could have waited. No complaints, made 25 cents per contract.

  143. Chekote says:

    #147

Wrong! Shep needs to go into a closet and NEVER come out.

  144. bartman says:

    LOL Chekote

  145. jack ross says:

143: its NJ, where a typo becomes certified.

  146. DrJay says:

  147. Marv says:

    #150 bartman

Korat RTAFB, Thailand (answer to your question a few threads down)

  148. KnightHawk says:

151- That’s what I’m worried about, including idiots at the TV stations if this comes down to the wire.

  149. Dusty Wolf says:

    58% in, 49-44, Christie

  150. Chekote says:

    Bergen is very tight.

  151. Jason T. says:

    151,LOL right on Brother.

  152. KnightHawk says:

    ameister – Thanks.

  153. Karl R Rove says:

    “jimgeraghty

Big revelation from RCP guys: Corzine would need 53 percent of a two-man race in remaining precincts; unlikely.http://tinyurl.com/ylrjrqr”

  154. KnightHawk says:

157 – Chek that is good, if he can keep that where it is, and keep passaic close.

  155. ameister says:

Don’t worry about Sussex. the #’s are flipped.

  156. Chekote says:

    Hoffman is behind.

  157. Jason T. says:

It would be nice to send Corzilla to the Goldman Sachs Retirement Home for Billionaires along with Rubin,Paulson and Bernake

  158. Brandon says:

Christie is winning Atlantic, a classic bellweather!

  159. Brandon says:

    They fixed Sussex.

  160. jason says:

Essex running out of gas, Corzine can still milk Hudson and Camdem for some votes but he is running out of good counties.

  161. Darrell says:

where is a link to the NY_23 race?

  162. jack ross says:

with 60% in, it going to be real hard to sway the averages.

  163. DrJay says:

With half reporting, Deeds and McDonnell are basically tied in Fairfax County.

  164. jason says:

Christie up by 100k…fat lady is out…

  165. Karl R Rove says:

Owens wins Clinton County, as predicted. East will go Owens.

    Hoffman wins some small western.

  166. Dusty Wolf says:

Less than 1% have reported on NY_23. that’s not even worth a look yet.

  167. BernieSadori says:

They just flipped the Sussex numbers. 51-43 Christie :)

  168. f9gopguyin says:

politico just switched sussex to christie on their site

  169. Darrell says:

I am starting to think that Christie might be outside the MOF.

  170. ameister says:

Unfortunately Corzine is headed right to
    Washington

  171. wylie e. coyote - super genius says:

The coyote is howling tonight – big nite for those who love Liberty!

  172. KnightHawk says:

  176. Brandon says:

    #181. GOP, GOP, Tossup.

  177. BernieSadori says:

This WOP is a very happy man at the moment. If Christie can hold on and Hoffman win, I just may make a big batch of cannoli and eat myself to a stuper with a nice bottle of red wine.

  178. jason says:

Corzine getting killed in Morris…Christie will have a 45k vote cushion there.

  179. AlN says:

Christie up by 96k and they’re almost done counting Essex.

  180. Brandon says:

Err, I meant Dem for Mercer, that’s where Trenton is.

  181. bartman says:

    Marv,

Thanks for your service. What did you do?

  182. KnightHawk says:

#176 – Don’t make that assumption just yet.

    8% in

  198. Dusty Wolf says:

Hmm. Now the numbers are slowly coming out in NY _23. Not good so far, but very early. 54-42, Owens. 8% in.

  199. KnightHawk says:

    http://hotair.com/archives/2009/11/03/open-thread-ny-23/

“There is good take away from these early numbers.

Clinton County is going 58% for Owens. They went 60% for Obama. No big suprise there.

Madison County is going 56% for Hoffman. They went 48% for Mccain, 49% for Obama.

We should be watching Madison county to look at wider district trends.”

  215. pitchaboy@aol.com says:

For you guys who hate Intrade today is a lesson; Corzine was 80 cents at 5.20 and 6 cents now. It is nothing but gambling on available data and rumors.

    Christie up by 97K

  217. Dusty Wolf says:

Hudson and Essex are only like 50% in… so there are chit load of corzine votes still out there… but yeah thinking are starting to look very good for Christie.

    funny:

Douglas L. Hoffman’s first congressional campaign stop in Watertown had more campaign staff — three — than attendees.

Three months later, the Conservative Party candidate in the 23rd Congressional District race was a bigger draw here than the vice president of the United States.

  223. KnightHawk says:

Howard.. wow ouch, hope that’s very D areas.

  225. bartman says:

    Chekote #222,

“NY-23 Looking a Little Too Close for Comfort?

I, among others, thought that Conservative Doug Hoffman was likely to win New York’s special election by a wide margin. But exit polls put him up by about 4 percentage points, and word out of their camp was that they expect to “win a close election.”

  234. KnightHawk says:

“by a 12 point spread to get close. ” – He’s got that and then some probably in the mail in ballots, less Christie keeps a ~100k lead.

#252 That lady is an emotional fool. They are dying because, well people die frankly. Because they have to pay more then they may like for HC has ZERO to do with it. Everyone in this country has access to the BEST HC in the world. Based on every demographic and every major illness you have a MUCH better survival rate in this nation then anywhere else on the planet earth!!!

On the other hand, TEN OF MILLIONS WILL DIE EARLIER and in MORE PAIN if Obamacare is allowed to break our HC system. Thounds of doctors will leave the profession and the flow of life savings drugs/technology will STOP or be significantly reduced….

But hey, all of us except those cool ruling elite types like Obama will have “equal” crappy HC ala Cuba….

  251. Jason T. says:

    257. It begins. You would think a wealthy Billionaire like Corzine, who grew up in Farm Town IL would be a Gentleman.

  252. Tommy_Boy says:

    Apparently, Owen’s base is in:

    http://rsmccain.blogspot.com/2009/11/ny23-election-results-hq.html

10:05 p.m.: There have been reports of problems with voting machines in the district. However, early returns from Clinton County — home territory for Democrat Bill Owens — indicate a Hoffman victory. Total turnout for Republicans was stronger than for Democrats in that key county.

In a conference call with bloggers, Susan B. Anthony List President Marjorie Dannenfelser just described the apparent conservative surge as “an organic movement that is rising up.” SBA list put more than 200 volunteers into the 23rd District and distributed more than 100,000 pieces of literature on behalf of the Hoffman campaign.

  253. f9gopguyin says:

uhm, i think politico just called the race for christie? they just put a check mark by his name for total state results

  254. Karl R Rove says:

Not maybe a big deal, as SLC is Hoffman’s county.

    KRR

  255. jason says:

I looked county by county…I don’t see where Corzine can make up 100k votes. His best bet is Hudson but he might net 30k more there.

  264. wylie e. coyote - super genius says:

#260 None of these statist thugs qualify as “gentlemen” or “ladies”. They basically want to use the force of government to make you live/behave in a manner they see fit. Given that’s there underlying philosophy of government/life, its a logical step to use “any means necessary” since they feel justified to rule over others. The reason they dont try or get away with even more is that a vast majority of the American public still hold to the notion of fair play (although that is steady eroding year by year as the amount of nutty far left types grows).

Juan Williams said on Fox that the Daggett vote imploded – the anti-Corzine vote went back to Christe as Polaris predicted here….

  265. Jason T. says:

Tommy are we cool. I was too hyped today.
