AZ: Goodard, McCain Lead Races
A new poll from Arizona State University shows one incumbent leading the former Governor of Arizona in his race while the other incumbent appears on her way to a defeat next year should she get renominated.

John McCain (R-inc) 50%
Janet Napolitano (D) 41%GOVERNOR – ARIZONA (ASU)
Terry Goddard (D-inc) 47%

Isn’t Palin’s 20% number pretty high? If you support Mitt Romney, Mike Huckabee, or someone else for president, wouldn’t you answer this question no even though you would vote for her in a matchup against Obama?
This is complete media malpractice:
“Although the release of former Alaska Gov. Sarah Palin’s new book dominates media coverage, few voters in Arizona would like to see her become president in the future, according to a new Cronkite/Eight poll. The poll, conducted Nov. 19-22, found that 20 percent of those interviewed would like to see her run for president sometime in the future while 63 percent would not want to see her run and 17 percent had no opinion. Forty-three percent of the Republicans would like her to run compared to 10 percent of the Democrats and 20 percent of the Independents.”
The problem is that it’s not the question they asked:
“Former Alaska Governor Sarah Palin just released a new book about her experiences running for vice-president with John McCain. If Palin runs for president in the future, would you like to see her become president or would you be opposed to her becoming president?”

Washington Post closing remaining U.S. bureaus
NEW YORK, Nov 24 (Reuters) – The Washington Post (WPO.N) is closing its last U.S. bureaus outside the nation’s capital as the money-losing newspaper retrenches to focus on politics and local news.
“At a time of limited resources and increased competitive pressure, it’s necessary to concentrate our journalistic firepower on our central mission of covering Washington and the news, trends and ideas that shape both the region and the country’s politics, policies and government,” the newspaper’s top editor, Marcus Brauchli, wrote in a memo to employees that was obtained by Reuters.
The Post will close its bureaus in Chicago, Los Angeles and New York, effective Dec. 31.
The news comes after the Post told several employees at its website that they would be laid off, and follows several rounds of buyouts in recent years.
#4 Can you dispute anything I just wrote?
Howard
I am sure you posted it or not but the Washington Post also fired 10 employees at Washingpost.com their internet site.
In a nifty maneuver the Post let these employees go this Nov-right in time for the holidays. By letting these employees go before Jan. 1 the Post saved a bunch of money. On 1-1-2010 the web employees would have become covered by the Union layoff package and would received a much better severance package.
Funny how these leftist-union supporting Newspapers are so cheap with their own money but support taking our tax dollars out of our pockets for their liberal plans.

I am going to let it go otherwise I will be accused to derailing the thread.
Why not poll a hypothetical matchup with Arpaio since he’s more likely to be nominated than Brewer?
#9 Arpaio is allegedly fundraising for Hayworth
I doubt Napolitano is going to give up her nice cushy job to slug it out with McCain….

I don’t know I had to actually get some work done for a couple hours but seems like things were slow tonight.
Shout out to the SEALS.
Don’t you just love that the brits are now blaming obama about dither causing their own dithering. I don’t doubt there is a certain level of truth there but also seems like an awfully convent scape goat for some of their own long standing issues and domestic sales job troubles.
Interesting that their sec def though went public with the comments another result I’m sure of Obama’s “Smart Diplomacy”.
Was it posted earlier about growth being revised downward from 3.5% to 2.8% for last quarter, so taking away cash for clunkers I believe we were still at negative growth! Nice Recovery eh.
But remember when Bush was president. Growth figures would come out, and they were normally good, but the press would lament how they werent good enough. Same with unemployment. Oh well…we just need to trudge forward and make sure if we take back the House in 2010 we dont repeat the mistakes of the past.
So newspapers are going out of business…What will we do!?!?!?
Too funny not to share

22 – I think we have to switch to those interwebs or somfthing.
21 – It was I think but nobody chose to focus on it, I think because the revision downward surprised NOBODY! Rather amazing that such a large revision (-.7)got almost no play in the lame stream.
Eastern Syria becoming a new al Qaeda haven
US intelligence officials are concerned that Syria is becoming an al Qaeda haven, as the terror group becomes increasingly intertwined with Ba’athist groups operating from Iraq’s neighbor to the west.
Al Qaeda has refocused its efforts to build an infrastructure in eastern Syria after its network in Iraq was decimated by Iraqi and US security forces from 2007 to 2009, and now the organization is partnering with former Ba’athists from Saddam Hussein’s regime.
“A major concern is that eastern Syria will begin to look like northwestern Pakistan,” where al Qaeda has joined forces with the Taliban and directs attacks to destabilize Afghanistan, a senior US military intelligence official told The Long War Journal.

KH, I heard that they are going after the seals for bloodng up 2 terrorists that they recently captured??? The terrorists were responsible for incidents in Fallujah.
Yup Tina, they were trying to besmirch their records cause the guy acquired a fat lip somehow, SEALs were like f- that you want to go after us for some bullshit then make it official and court-martial us.
John Murtha could not be reached for comment, perhaps TinaReports™ might have more luck getting something out of him.

Yeah, that smart diplomacy has been impressive so far.
#21
Yes. We know that press is biased. ZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZ
#26
The only solution to terrorism is regime change in countries that sponsor them.
Murtha is a total, corrupt disgrace. Yet he keeps on getting re-elected. That shows you how dumb the average voters is.
Romney should run for senate….loser!
