MA: Patrick Leads Three-Way Race For Gov
Regardless of who the Republican candidate will be, sitting Democratic Governor Deval Patrick leads a three-way race despite the fact he can’t get above a third of the vote in a new poll from Scott Rasmussen.
GOVERNOR – MASSACHUSETTS (Rasmussen)
Deval Patrick (D-inc) 32%
Tim Cahill (I) 28%
Christy Mihos (R) 26%Deval Patrick (D-inc) 33%
Charlie Baker (R) 28%
Tim Cahill (I) 25%
I know Cahill came from the Democratic Party, but does anyone from Massachusetts know if he would be tolerable as Governor if you were a Republican? This poll was done November 23rd among 500 likely voters.

Oh, wow! He gets a whole 33% of the vote at best! He’s rolling to reelection now!
1 Obviously MA must like the misery that its living in
I guess a third of them do anyway, Sharon.
Compared to Patrick, Dave, just about anyone would be tolerable as Governor.
another 13 % are voting none of the above! None of these characters would stand a chance of election in Texas, so I am with this group. Taxachusetts prove that you deserve better than what you have got from the liberal fascists.
Keep an eye on how much the Dems pay to have Cahill run. It is their only remote shot to keep this seat. Shades of NJ.
That didn’t work out all that well in New Jersey, Sam.
Someone tell me abotu Cahill. I am ignorant of him and his background. A democrat in sheep’s clothing?
Wes, I know that it did not work.
But it is part of the Dems’ strategy for 2010.
All the better if the rep candidate drops out before the election. A la NY-23.
Continuing on #9,
that is the reason KOS polls Florida showing either Crist or Rubio running as independent.
Cahill is a Dem officeholder up there. He’s the State Treasurer.
What kind of independent is that? He is running against the current sitting D Governor? Hooboy, that is a hell of a lot of NOT DEVAL voters. This is worse than Jersey, in a very dark blue maybe indigo state.
Don’t quote me on this, but I believe Cahill has been hammering Deval more than anyone else. That may explain why he’s splitting the anti-Deval vote.
I am a registered “Unenrolled” in Mass – which is the same as an Independent elsewhere. However, I am conservative and generally vote Republican. However, if Cahill remains competitive, at this point I intend to vote for him. Neither Baker nor Mihos have impressed me much (if it gets to the point where Cahill is just a spoiler – either Repub. will get my vote.) Cahill has been a competent Treasurer, is very fiscally conservative for a Democrat, and is more socially conservative than either of the Repubs.
very fiscally conservative for a Democrat
Most of the Roman emperors were not as fanatic as Nero, but they still fed the Christians to the lions! In other words this is damning with faint praise, like she does not sweat much for a fat girl!
I can’t find anything definite, but I believe Mary beth Cahill–John Kerry’s 2004 campaign manager–is related to Tim Cahill. Maybe she’s a sister?
I am calling this as a GOP pickup.
