PREZ: Romney Tied With Obama

Some great numbers to head into the Thanksgiving holiday from Scott Rasmussen. Rasmussen has released some numbers for the 2012 Presidential Election with the usual Republican suspects.

PRESIDENT – NATIONAL (Rasmussen)
Mitt Romney (R) 44%
Barack Obama (D-inc) 44%

Barack Obama (D-inc) 46%
Sarah Palin (R) 43%

Barack Obama (D-inc) 45%
Mike Huckabee (R) 41%

And in what has become a somewhat disturbing phenomenon among pollsters of late, they are now including Lou Dobbs in match ups as a third party candidate. In this case, Dobbs clearly would hurt the Republicans.

PRESIDENT – NATIONAL (Rasmussen)
Barack Obama (D-inc) 42%
Mitt Romney (R) 34%
Lou Dobbs (I) 14%

Barack Obama (D-inc) 44%
Sarah Palin (R) 37%
Lou Dobbs (I) 12%

Barack Obama (D-inc) 42%
Mike Huckabee (R) 36%
Lou Dobbs (I) 12%

Hopefully this media infatuation with Lou Dobbs running for President erodes quickly. And the latest rumors is he will run for the US Senate from New Jersey. This poll was done November 24th among 800 likely voters.

    First!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  2. Wes says:

Dobbs is running for office almost as much as I am.

  3. Howard Dean says:

Dobbs will run for Senate in 12.

  4. Wes says:

This far out, this poll’s essentially garbage. It does indicate Obama’s weakness at the moment when these three are nearly tied with him. Aside from that, it’s really a tossable exercise.

  5. Wes says:

    Not likely, Howie.

  6. Brandon says:

If Dobbs runs, I will vote against him in the primary.

  7. Wes says:

Who would be your choice for Senate, Brandon?

  8. Brandon says:

Not sure yet, it’s 3 years out. But I know it’s not Dobbs.

  9. Wes says:

Any chance Whitman would run, Brandon?

  10. Big Joe says:

Interesting that the Romney voters would be most likely to bolt for Dobbs. But I agree with Wes, poll doesn’t tell us anything.

  11. Brandon says:

#9. No. She’s done with politics.

  12. Wes says:

I hate presidential polls this far out from an election. Polls at this time in 1989 would have had GHWB up hugely over any Dem. Clinton wasd down in 1993. GWB was up big in 2001 because of 9/11. In no instance, did those polls reflect the ultimate outcome of the races.

  13. Sean says:

Brandon, thanks again for posting those Survey USA numbers… My guess would be Tom Kean Jr would consider running, do you agree?

  14. Hellbelly says:

….I’m with Brandon on Dobbs…I would go out of my way to vote against this populist-wannabe; “folks are shooting at me” nutcase…..borderline racist….hokey economic buffoon…(and worst) former CNN stooge.

But other than that, he has a lot going for him.

  15. Wes says:

Aishwarya Rai must be of mixed descent; otherwise, i don’t see how in hell she can possibly have green eyes.

  16. Wes says:

Just like McCain and Santorum, right, Hellbelly?!

  17. Brandon says:

Kean Jr is already a one time loser candidate for Senate. I’d rather him not run again.

  18. Wes says:

Thanks for posting that link, Joe. In Sherlyn Chopra, I’ve found my second future ex-wife.

  19. Big Joe says:

16 Wes, it could be contact lenses. Or some leftover British DNA

  20. Hellbelly says:

    Wes,

You and Chekote still joined at the cerebellum?

  21. Wes says:

I’m opting for the latter, Joe.

  22. Wes says:

Not if you looked at my interplay with her earlier today, Hellbelly.

  23. Hellbelly says:

I’d prefer not to even think about interplay between you and Chekote.

  24. Big Joe says:

Second future ex-wife, Wes? You have your future wives lined up? LOL

  25. Big Joe says:

    22 . Agree, Wes. Colored contact lenses are a turn-off, especially when she’s already a 10+.

  26. Wes says:

No, Joe. I’m divorcing my current wife. Unfortunately that’s going to leave me as a single parent, but I’ll be glad to no longer have her involved in raising my daughter.

  27. Hellbelly says:

    Wes,

re: 27…all kidding aside, I’m real sorry to hear that. Good luck to you.

  28. Big Joe says:

Wes, I’m sorry to hear that. I think I remember you raving about here (African princess?) It could have been someone else. Wishing you the best, man.

  29. Wes says:

Thanks, Hellbelly. Although I hate to have to end a long-term relationship with someone who gave me a daughter, I’m glad everything came out before we moved. Now I can start over in Nassau with a clean slate. I’ll also know my daughter won’t have her mother influencing her to be anything but the best she can be in life.

  30. D QUIXOTE says:

Aishwarya Rai was born on 1st Nov 1973 in Manglore, Karnatka, India.

  31. Wes says:

I still love her, guys. She stole a lot of money form me though–when all she had to do was ask!–so I consider that time to move on.

  32. Hellbelly says:

    Wes,

Now that we’ve been nicey-nicey, can we get back to the political disdain? :)

  33. Benny says:

    WOW!!!!
    :-=)))

    But to early
    :-=(((

  34. Wes says:

Sure, Hellbelly. How much closer to slim than none are the gOP’s chances of taking Ted’s seat next month?

  35. Wes says:

Actually I had that backward: It should be How much closer to nonew than slim…?

  36. Wes says:

Those are definitely contact then. She has brown eyes at the link DQ just posted.

  37. Hellbelly says:

    Wes,

Pretty slim, I hate to say, but someone who just went after Obama and his policies hard would probably get north of 40%….I’m not a big fan of “moral victories”, but in the great commonwealth of Massachusetts, you take what you can get!

By the way, the Dems running are dolts.

They all stand for exactly the same thing.

But there are still a significant number of Catholics who vote for a Democrat out of habit (remembering JFK more than anything), but who are not as liberal on abortion as their party is.

If just one of them would say “I’m for Health Care Reform but I support the Stupak amendment” they would indeed tick off the left wing of the party, but they might just energize enough of the Catholic left to sneak in while everybody else toes the party line.

  38. Wes says:

I saw a clip of a debate among the Dem candidates. They all came across as idiots. Of course the two Republicans in the race are probably about the same if not worse.

  39. Wes says:

It’s amazing the Massachusettsans(-ites?) who moved to New Hampshire vote for lower taxes–thus accounting for the GOP having more power on the MA/NH border than in NH as a whole–while those who stay in the Bay State continue to vote for idiotic economic policies.

  40. Hellbelly says:

It is indeed remarkable to hear the Dem candidates “debate”…..”i support Obama more!”….”no….I suport Obama more!”

The only disparity of opinion comes from a couple of them who say “I can’t support health care reform if it has the Stupak amendment”, which no one up here believes is anything more than a cynical sop to the read radical left.

My favorite is Congressman Michael E. Capuano who voted for HCR in the House version but said he could not support it in the Senate if it contained Stupak.

    John Kerry is smiling!

  41. Wes says:

I’ve seen cars full of circus clowns with more polish than those fools have. If MA were any other state, all four of them would be laughed out of politics.

  42. Hellbelly says:

…and now i’ve got to get back to kitchen prep work…i’ve got 11 inlaws coming over tomorrow (with my own five) and I’ve got to do the cooking.

I’ll make someone a fine wife!

    (no ideas, Wes)

  43. Wes says:

You’re not packing the kind of physicla equipment I look for in a wife, Hellbelly. :)

  44. KnightHawk says:

    “cars full of circus clowns”

That’s easy to find in Massachusetts.
On that note I’m headed offline for a bit, have nice holiday fellow addicts.

  45. Wes says:

    Exactly, Knight.

  46. MFG says:

Political commentary porn political commentary porn

    LOL!

Wes, I sure am sorry to hear about that, my best to you always

  47. MFG says:

    KH

    Any more Kathy Ireland?

  48. Wes says:

    Thanks, MFG.

  49. Big Joe says:

    #50 KH, very very nice

  50. Wes says:

Thank God she’s gorgeous, Knight. She’d starve if she had to live off her acting ability.

  51. MFG says:

    So gorgeous

  52. MFG says:

Ever heard an interview? She’s very nice too

  53. Wes says:

Kathy Ireland’s very sweet and beautiful. She fully deserves to be the supermodel she is.

Finally the Union thugs have been charged with beating Ken Gladney.

    Tim,

Are you man enough to admit Gladney didn’t attack anyone? Why wasn’t he charged?

  55. jones says:

I’m taking bets, will Tim ignore, lie, or have an apes%$t meltdown?

  56. Big Joe says:

thanks for the pics guys, it helps pass the time when I have to work so late the day before the long weekend.

Now its time to do some fantasy football research – good day

  57. Wes says:

    No one here. Ah, well.

  58. House Sparrow says:

Obumbler is now solidly in the 40s, in both approval and head-to-head matchups. Buckle up, Barry, it is going to get worse :)

Wes, Sorry to hear the bad news. You have a good outlook on things.

  59. GPO says:

Kean Jr is already a one time loser candidate for Senate. I’d rather him not run again.

    Comment by Brandon — November 25, 2009 @ 5:30 pm

He lost in a terrible R year in a blue state. That same race this year he probably would have won. Still only 42 yrs old or so. His name recognition is huge. If he could win he could hold a senate seat hor 40 yrs in a deep blue state.

  60. Wes says:

I wonder if Lt Gov-elect Guadagno might not be a formidable candidate for a Senate seat up there in the future.

  61. pitchaboy says:

Wes, Aishwarya Rai is not of mixed descent. She comes from the same state I come fromwhere there is a group of people with blue and green eyes

  62. Wes says:

Thanks for the correction, Pitch. Regardless of eye color, she’s gorgeous.

  63. pitchaboy says:

The Brahmins of India are genetically Aryan and you will find pockets of unusual characteristics in India. Most of them have little to do with leftover British DNA.

  64. Benny says:

I think the Europeans have a more realistic picture of Obama. I think Americans are catching up.

    Sorry Chekote

    you are totaly wrong

In 2008 90% of the Germans would have vote for BHO
    NOW:75%

Most of the people are in deep love with him

I try to open my friends the eyes and thats a fulltime job!

The media is to 99% in BHO tank

  65. Wes says:

I did not know that, Pitch.

  66. D QUIXOTE says:

She looks brown eyed in post 37

  67. Wes says:

Scroll down till you see her in this post, DQ.

  68. Benny says:

    LOL

BHO want to kill the turkey

  69. D QUIXOTE says:

    Oh My!!!

  70. jason says:

Gallup really seems to have settled down….there used to be wild swings of 5 or more points a day….

  71. Chekote says:

    #27

    Are you serious?

  72. Wes says:

    Yes, Chek, I am.

  73. Wes says:

Too bad NC law requires a year of separation before divorce becomes final, but I’ll be safely in my new home in Nassau–probably with another hot, brainy girlfriend–by then, so I can live with it.

  74. Chekote says:

    #83

Divorce is a bitch. Best to you and your daughter.

  75. Chekote says:

    #84

That reminds me. I have to send an e-mail to my friend about schools in Nassau.

  76. Wes says:

Thanks, Chek. I hate to go through it, but it’s best for all involved. My daughter deserves a better mother. Unfortunately the best I can give her is a better father.

  77. Chekote says:

    #87

It is still tough. I divorced my first husband and even though I knew it was the best thing to do, it was still emotionally hard. Thank goodness we didn’t have any kids. It would have made it much harder.

  78. Wes says:

I know it’s going to be har don all of us. I’m glad my daughter is young enough not to know what’s going on though. I don’t know if she’ll ever want to see her mother when she grows up, but I’ll at least try to make sure she has some kind of relationship with her.

  79. Chekote says:

    Brandon,

    Why do you dislike Dobbs?

  80. Phil says:

I’ve been there too Wes. Hard to go through but it gets better. Not easy to see now, but it does.

  81. Wes says:

That won’t be easy with us living in different countries. It just goes to show giving some people every thing they could possibly ask for in the world sometimes just isn’t enough. Ah, well…

  82. Chekote says:

    #89

If it had to happen, best now that the child is young.

  83. GPO says:

    Wes

    Nassau NY??

  84. Wes says:

Eventually the Obamabus is going to run out of road to run over people on. I guess he’ll load it up at that point and send it over a cliff.

  85. Wes says:

    The Bahamas, GPO.

  86. Wes says:

Right, Chek. Our daughter’s only four months old right now. She won’t have any memories of this when she gets older.

  87. ameister says:

Brandon, did you hear john Runyan is running
for Adlers” seat? I don’t think he has the gravitas
    other than name recognition.

  88. Chekote says:

What should we talk about tonight?

  89. Wes says:

    None of the follwing, Chek:

    1) abortion

    2) Palin

    3) Pete Sessions

  90. ameister says:

96 according to the article they had this guys desk
cleaned out before they even announced he was gone.
    They are refining the technique.

  91. Brandon says:

#91. Being a TV big mouth isn’t a qualification for elected office.

  92. Wes says:

Many could have said the same about Bill Bradley in 1978, Am.

  93. tgcaGNAT says:

    #88

The best thing for whom? Your husband? :-)

    Sorry! I could not resist.

    Hugs and Kisses

  94. Brandon says:

#99. We’ve got no one else at the moment, and he can self fund. That’s good enough for me at this point.

  95. ameister says:

How about a list of all the folks that have been thrown
under the Bus in 1 Yr.?

  96. Wes says:

At this rate, will there be anyone left in the Obama Admninistration by the time 2012 rolls around?

  97. tgcaGNAT says:

    #100

    ABORTION!

    Who wants to discuss ABORTION?

  98. Wes says:

I’m not sure the site has the capacity to hold that list, Am.

  99. ameister says:

104 John Runyan is no Bill Bradley. respectfully

  100. Chekote says:

    #105

It was best for him too. We were too young and we just grew apart. Are you still a virgin?

  101. tgcaGNAT says:

Yes, I am still a virgin. Just thinking of you keeps me that way.

  102. Wes says:

That may be, Am, but Bradley’s election to the Senate was the result of a major confluence of events that gave a former basketball star a senate seat. Runyan may have a similar Cinderella effect going in his favor.

  103. Brandon says:

And the guy has millions. It will allow the NRCC to spend money elsewhere.

  104. ameister says:

Brandon, I just hope he does not crowd out
a solid challenger. that was Jim Saxtons
    district forever

  105. Wes says:

    Why did Saxton retire?

  106. ameister says:

118 health reasons, Cancer I think

  107. Wes says:

Why can’t Dem Senators ever retire for health reasons? Byrd and Inouye had both been in the Senate for almost twenty years by the time I was born.

  108. Brandon says:

#117. Like I said earlier, there’s really no one else that wants in. Diane Allen was rumored earlier in the year, but now she is battling cancer so she won’t be running. Ocean County Chairman Gilmore wants to run a candidate from Ocean County, Assemblyman Chris Connors, but Connors is “highly unlikely” to run.

  109. Wes says:

I just looked up State Sen Jennifer Beck, Am and Brandon. She’s gorgeous and apparently has cross-party appeal. Is there any chance she ever runs for congress?

  110. tgcaGNAT says:

    #116 Wes

Diana Falzone is not that hot…this babe is much hotter and more my style

    http://www.onejerusalem.com/wp-content/rosieksm.jpg

  111. Wes says:

    That was really unnecessary, Tgca.

  112. Chekote says:

    #123

LOL! That is one of the funniest pictures I have ever seen.

  113. Wes says:

So do you look like Diana Falzone, Chek?

  114. tgcaGNAT says:

Wes, you and I evidently have different tastes in women!

  115. Wes says:

Agreed, Tgca. I like mine attractive.

  116. tgcaGNAT says:

Beauty is in the eye of the beholder.

  117. ameister says:

Jennifer Beck has potential and won a tough election
But she needs some experience and exposure IMO

  118. Wes says:

Let’s line up ten guys and see how many of them agree with me on what’s hot or with you. I’m betting I win that one.

  119. Brandon says:

#122. She may, but I think it would be for NJ-04, whenever Chris Smith decides to retire.

  120. Wes says:

That is a good point, Am. I didn’t think she was going to run next year. The future for an attractive woman in her early forties is potentially good though.

  121. Chekote says:

    #126

No. My best days are behind me. The big 50 is just around the corner. But in my 20s I was pretty hot. And used it is get away with a lot of crap. In NYC, I was the assistant for a Managing Director at one of the large brokerage houses. One of my two responsibilities was to answer his phone. Well, I talked him into getting voice mail. He was a really nice guy. Never made a move but men are suckers when it comes to attractive women.

  122. tgcaGNAT says:

    Wes:

Maybe on this site you would win. However, I am sure there is a market for a hottie like:

    http://www.onejerusalem.com/wp-content/rosieksm.jpg

  123. Wes says:

What was your other responsibility, Chek, or do I want to ask?

  124. Chekote says:

Still at close to 50, Palin ain’t got nothing on me.

  125. tgcaGNAT says:

    #134

Well…I would say women are also suckers for hot men as well. If I only had a dollar for everytime some chick I know fell for a guy based on looks and braun alone…only to see it end miserably.

  126. Wes says:

Well, apparently you and Palin aren’t that far apart in age, Chek.

  127. tgcaGNAT says:

Palin is hot! Sexy! Great body language too.

    But…

    http://www.onejerusalem.com/wp-content/rosieksm.jpg

    still gets me going.

  128. Wes says:

Personally I think Sean Hannity harbors a secret desire for an affair with Palin. He just can’t take his eyes off her or quit talking about her.

  129. MD says:

    Wes,

I was hoping this was a joke at the beginning of the thread but I am guessing it is not. I have been posting at BJG a little more lately and asked if they thought this was a joke. I wanted to disclose that because when I read 27, I really didn’t want to believe it.

While I don’t know your particular situation, this does seem very sudden since only a few days ago, you praised her.

Sometimes people make egregious mistakes and making a decision while you are very angry can be the wrong thing to do.

However, if you truly don’t love her, then it is time to move on. You may want take a couple more days to digest it. This sounds like it hit you like a ton of bricks. This is just my opinion. I have been married for quite a long time and I can honestly say that I had a couple of moments where that thought crossed my mind. However, I never had a situation that sounded like yours. My wife is a CPA and every penny I make belongs to both of us. She does spend too much though.

In the end, I really hope things work out for you in whatever comes your way. Try to remember the good things.

I know this is personal so this will be all I’ll say to you on this. Good luck.

  130. Chekote says:

    #136

Organize Sales Conferences for institutional clients. I used to work on the trading room. It was a lot of fun. We were close to NBC so whenever the evening news did a piece on financial markets they would use our trading room as backdrop. I met a lot of people. Sandy Weill, Frank Zarb, Lew Gluckman. I remember when Drexel Burnham blew up. Interesting days. Interesting times.

  131. Wes says:

    Thank you, MD.

  132. Chekote says:

Men are very vulnerable to good looking women. More than women are to good looking men.

  133. Obama is going down in 3 years

  134. Chekote says:

What attracks women is confidence. Too many brainy guys are very insecure when it comes to women. Insecurity can draw out the nurturing instinct in women but it is not sexy. That’s why the brainy guy usually ends up being a great friend but not a lover.

  135. MD says:

    Wes,

    I harbor a non-secret desire for Palin!!!!

    No, actually Nikki Benz.

  136. Big Joe says:

Teej, what’s up with that pic you keep posting. Nasty!

  137. Wes says:

I wouldn’t mind being between the sheets with Nikki Benz myself, MD.

  138. Chekote says:

    #141

Sean Hannity is a very good looking guy in person. Much better looking in person.

  139. tgcaGNAT says:

    #145

I think that is not true at all. Why do you think there are all these books, shows, movies, and articles devoted to addressing issues surrounding women who fall for attractive men. Happens all the time. I doubt there is a signififcant difference between vulnerability factors in the sexes due to attractiveness but just PC for society to portray women as not falling for men based on past stereotypes…but it happens extremely frequently.

  140. Wes says:

Chekote, do you want me to post my rebuttal to #145? There are only two words in it.

  141. Chekote says:

I must be the only wife who doesn’t spend more money than her husband. My hubbie is a frickin’ money pit.

  142. MD says:

    Wes,

She is Canadian and I hear (although have never seen for myself) that she works the Windsor, ON circuit.

You remember the defining feature of Windsor right?

  143. tgcaGNAT says:

    #148 BJ:

Don’t be a hater! Different strokes for different folks.

  144. Wes says:

Absolutely, MD. I plan to take FULL advantage of that particular defining feature.

  145. MD says:

    That a boy!

  146. Big Joe says:

156 Teej – ok to each his own, but you MUST post a warning the next time you feel the need to post such items.

I dang near threw up in my mouth. Don’t want that to happen again.

  147. Chekote says:

Of course looks matter to both sexes. But look at the money Hugh Hefner has made selling pictures of sexy women. The only people who buy Playgirl are gay men. (I wonder if idiot boy Levi Johnston knows that).

  148. tgcaGNAT says:

#159 I think it is one of her better pics.

  149. Wes says:

Chekote: Van Jones. You couldn’t stop slobbering over him.

  150. Chekote says:

    #163

    That brother was hot!

  151. Wes says:

    I can’t say I agree.

  152. Wes says:

Then again I’m only qualified to judge female attractiveness.

  153. tgcaGNAT says:

    #161

Its not about sex magazines. Its about crushes. Women are less likely to buy nude mags but they are the main audience for all the entertainment mags dedicated to showing pics of men. People, US, and all the other celebrity rags. Let’s not even get started on the teen magazines. Girls start from a very early age being indoctrinated with how men look.

  154. Wes says:

Well, all, I’m off. I will catch you some other time.

  155. Chekote says:

    #167

Yes TG. You haven’t got laid because girls have been indoctrinated. Nothing to do with your personality.

  156. Chekote says:

    Take care, Wes.

  157. tgcaGNAT says:

Women are more into the aesthetics (i.e. good looks). Men are more apt to throw a bag over a womens face as long as she has a hot body. The focus between the sexes is very different. Most men are not romanticizing about woman because of the way she looks…they are sexualizing about it.

  158. Chekote says:

What do you guys think of Beck telling soldiers not to re-enlist?

  159. tgcaGNAT says:

Oh please Ckekote! Stop sexualizing about me! I aint gonna let you ride me like one of your horses no matter how much you beg. I told you before, I am not into hairy Italian women…I grew up with enough of that in Jersey. :-)

  160. Chekote says:

BTW, I doubt seriously Romney will run for POTUS. He is toast thanks to Romneycare.

  161. tgcaGNAT says:

If it keeps him from bein POTUS…thank heavens for Romneycare! Romney is an empty suit and I would rather write in a vote than vote for him.

  162. Chekote says:

    #175

That’s how I feel about him too. I liked him at first but the more I got to see him the more he turned me off.

  163. tgcaGNAT says:

I liked Romney back in the 90’s but then he sold his soul…or perhaps exposed it for me to see something I never saw before. I think he is plastic. He appears to be a less extreme version of Obama…just on the opposite spectrum.

  164. tgcaGNAT says:

    ok…as always…it was real…and it was nice…but not real nice. :-)

I gots to get me some din-din.

  165. wylie e. coyote - super genius says:

Here is exactly what these polls tell me:

    Obama 45%

A tree stump with R sign tacked on it 45%

Litterally, at this point, anybody or anything would be ahead or tied with Obama in a head to head match up…..

Says nothing about these 3x at this point….

Enough on this as its 3 years away, lets give it a rest eh

  166. Tim says:

I agree. President Reagan was in the 30’s in 1983, and won a 49 state landslide the next year.

More important are the 2010 polls. The President’s approval rating could affect those, directly.

I might also add that out-of-town family is here, and I’m into the Irish Whiskey….

  167. Tina says:

Happy Thanksgiving gang. I can not post much here for the next few days, but enjoyy tomorrow.

  168. House Sparrow says:

Presidential polls this far out mean nothing about three years from now. However, they do offer an idea of the current political landscape. Earlier this year, Obama looked a lot better, and every R a lot worse in these hypothetical match-ups.

  169. House Sparrow says:

Enjoy as well, Tina. Happy Thanksgiving!

  170. Tim says:

Happy Thanksgiving, Tina. I raise my glass to my favorite Conservative.

  171. Tina says:

I raise my glasses of Ca wine and champagne, Amaretto, and Limoncello to my favorite Demorat here.

  172. Chekote says:

    Happy Thanksgiving to all!

  173. Brandon says:

    And to all, a goodnight!

Here is a great article about the neo-commie “I am entitled to the fruits of your labor” mindset that the Liberal mental illness fosters:

    http://andrews.blogtownhall.com/2009/11/25/what_is_wrong_with_us.thtml

“That we think “justice” has everything to do with net worth and “good and bad” and “fair and unfair”, rather than the terms of the contract and legal obligations shows everything that is wrong with the US today. Justice is about each getting what they deserve, but deserve not in some cosmic ethical sense, but in a very strict, legal sense. No more, no less. The government exists to enforce rights and adjudicate contracts, not to enforce some sort of “equity” in life. That many of those who read the citation above would want to have the government step in and “fix” the situation frightens me, as it is precisely the sort of thinking that got us where we are.”

    and

“Before anyone signs on and thinks that poverty is some sort of ticket to moral right and Wal mart “should” let her keep the money, ask yourself this, are there more people richer than you or poorer? Think worldwide. Then ask, if poverty is a ticket to the holdings of the rich, how rosy does your future look? If every person with even a dime less has more right than you do, and anyone who can spend or drink or drug himself into having less than you do can claim your wealth, what will become of you? That is the principle being promoted here, that poverty is its own justification, that wealth is a sign that one lacks merit. If you agree with that, then you have simply set yourself, and the rest of us, for eventual poverty. Because we will never be so rich that some industrious reprobate couldn’t spend it all up and come back to ask for more.”

  180. Say Poll don’t matter this early is like say a tie score in football between Florida and St. Mary’s School for the Deaf and Blind doesn’t matter.

Obama’s the ONE, remember. It show that we are competitive, and the media can no longer ignore that.

We have 3 more years to play before the game is over, but at the end of the 1st quarter, I am pleased with a close score.

    Lets Play hard!

    HAPPY THANKSGIVING ALL.

  182. Harry Balls says:

Vespa/WireImage; Miller/NewsShe may not like Jennifer Aniston, but Angelina Jolie reportedly ‘hates’ President Barack Obama.

Angelina Jolie isn’t happy with the state of politics today … and that includes President Barack Obama.

“She hates him,” a source close to the actress said in the latest issue of Us Weekly magazine. “She’s into education and rehabilitation and thinks Obama is all about welfare and handouts. She thinks Obama is really a socialist in disguise.”
