FL: Rubio’s Lead Over Crist Grows To 34%

It seems like every time a new poll comes out of Florida, the news gets worse for Charlie Crist. After a poll yesterday showed Rubio ahead of Crist by 32%, today we get a new poll from Insider Advantage that shows Rubio’s lead even larger.

US SENATE – FLORIDA – GOP PRIMARY (insider Advantage)
Marco Rubio 60%
Charlie Crist 26%

This poll was done March 9th among 512 registered voters. And yet, the National Republican Senatorial Committee still gives more information on Democratic candidate Kendrick Meek than they do their own party’s front runner for the nomination on their website. Unreal….

    BPL,

Chek claimed below that Newt’s “PAC” outraised Palin’s PAC.

Chek doens’t recognize that what Newt had was a 527, which is completely different from a PAC. He only recently formed a PAC.

Chek was either lying or misinformed. Since she isn’t particularly bright, she was probably the latter.

I read the DCCC is about to introduce the top 13 DEM challengers that they expect to unseat GOP incumbent congressmen. That should have amusement value.

Senate Health Care Bill Dead on Arrival, Pro-Life House Democrats Say

    JT/MD,

With Hafer out in PA-12, I am hearing rumblings that Russel’s folks are pushing to run as an Indy in the Special if Burns takes the nomination. Any solid word on that? Is Russel himself egotistical enough to screw the party over? I can see him having a legitimate claim to the nomination were he to challenge for the primary (he has every right to do so), but to foil the very party that gave him the chance to take on Murtha to begin with just ain’t right.

    http://www.freerepublic.com/focus/f-news/2468310/posts?utm_source=twitterfeed&utm_medium=twitter

“Magellan Strategies completed a poll for the campaign on Tuesday evening. The results were not encouraging for a continued run. It is time to gracefully and honorably exit the race for the U.S. Senate.

“I have no regrets. Spending time with men like Bob Heft (50 Star American Flag designer) and Dr. Alan Keyes (Pro-life advocate) has enriched my life. Talking with Kentucky’s Republican congressman during the past few months reassures me that good people are fighting hard for America. I am happy to say that we have some outstanding men and women serving at the state level, many of them have given me words of encouragement. And meeting conservative men and women across the state of Kentucky has renewed my faith that America will again head back to the Constitution.

“Trey and Rand are both good men. I have decided to remain neutral for now and clear of endorsements. Regardless of who wins the primary, I offer my full support to helping that candidate become our next U.S. Senator from Kentucky.

“I will spend the next few months relaxing and enjoying time with my family. I humbly thank all my supporters and volunteers for their efforts. My goal was to be your public servant in Washington but perhaps another opportunity will emerge in the future. I look forward to your continued friendship. Please stay in touch. Best Regards, Bill”

I’ll take the easy way out, Tommy_Boy, & say “both of the above.”

And the whole PAC $ as a reflection of who can raise $ as a prez candidate is BS to start with. The day Palin announces for Prez, she’ll have $80M in donations before the weekend is over. Nobody else will get 1/2 that in a month. Speaking for myself, I’ve never donated more than $25 to any candidate & it was my only donation (Bush 43 in 2004, as a token). The day Palin is officially in, I cut a check for $500. No other politician gets my hard-earned $$. Trust me, there are tens of thousands just like me who will do the same.

Budget deficit sets record in February

By MARTIN CRUTSINGER (AP) – 4 hours ago

WASHINGTON — The government ran up the largest monthly deficit in history in February, keeping the flood of red ink on track to top last year’s record for the full year.

The Treasury Department said Wednesday that the February deficit totaled $220.9 billion, 14 percent higher than the previous record set in February of last year.

The deficit through the first five months of this budget year totals $651.6 billion, 10.5 percent higher than a year ago.

The Obama administration is projecting that the deficit for the 2010 budget year will hit an all-time high of $1.56 trillion, surpassing last year’s $1.4 trillion total. The administration is forecasting that the deficit will remain above $1 trillion in 2011, giving the country thrree straight years of $1 trillion-plus deficits.

The administration says the huge deficits are necessary to get the country out of the deepest recession since the 1930s. But Republicans have attacked the stimulus spending as wasteful and a failure at the primary objective of lowering unemployment.

  19. pitchaboy says:

Knowing full well that abortion cannot be reconciled(Byrd rule), Stupak and merry men have found a convenient excuses to sink the HC bill. They can insist that if Stupak language bill is inserted they will vote yes; however, it cannot be done without a new bill –catch22.

It appears, the Freedom PAC founder forgot “free will.”

Okay guys. God is in charge so I guess we don’t need to fight HC. If it passes, then it is God’s will. Stop worrying about it.

STANDARD OF CONDUCT FOR CABINET MEMBERS, EXECUTIVE BRANCH AGENCY HEADS, MANAGERS, SUPERVISORS AND EMPLOYEES CONCERNING EMPLOYMENT DISCRIMINATION

As the chief executive officer for the Commonwealth of Virginia, I hereby establish a standard of conduct to ensure that all cabinet members, Executive Branch agency heads, managers, supervisors and employees understand and enforce state and federal law prohibiting employment discrimination. Employment discrimination of any kind will not be tolerated by this Administration.

The Virginia Human Rights Act recognizes the unlawfulness of conduct that violates any Virginia or federal statute or regulation governing discrimination against certain enumerated classes of persons. The Equal Protection Clause of the United States Constitution prohibits discrimination without a rational basis against any class of persons. Discrimination based on factors such as one’s sexual orientation or parental status violates the Equal Protection Clause of the United States Constitution.

Therefore, discrimination against enumerated classes of persons set forth in the Virginia Human Rights Act or discrimination against any class of persons without a rational basis is prohibited. Consistent with state and federal law, and the Virginia and United States Constitutions, I hereby direct that the hiring, promotion, compensation, treatment, discipline, and termination of state employees shall be based on an individual’s job qualifications, merit and performance.

No employee of the Executive Branch shall engage in any discriminatory conduct against another employee. Allegations of any violation of the law or this standard of conduct shall be brought promptly to the attention of the Director of the Department of Human Resource Management for review and corrective action. Any cabinet member, agency head, manager, supervisor or employee who discriminates against a state employee or prospective employee in violation of the law or this standard of conduct shall be subject to appropriate disciplinary action, ranging from reprimand to termination.

I further direct agency heads to ensure that every manager and supervisor in their respective agency is aware of and enforces this standard of conduct. Civility, fair treatment, and mutual respect shall be the standard of conduct expected in state employment. – Robert F. McDonnell, Governor

Indiana primary is 8 weeks away and the senate candidates have disappeared. They have has a couple of “debates” in local Moose lodges in remote parts of the state but these have received no coverage in Indianapolis. Money is probably an issue and candidates are likely waiting until closer to the election to unload. Stutzman won a straw poll at Tea Party debate last week in Warsaw IN, his backyard. Former Senator Dan Coats came in last. http://www.news-sentinel.com/apps/pbcs.dll/article?AID=/20100309/EDITORIAL/3090334. Coats is consistently not doing well in rural areas with hard core conservatives.

In another note, 4 local Fort Wayne Republican candidates who voted in the Democrat primary in 2008 as part of Operation Chaos have been thrown off the ballot. They are considered Democrats until the next primary when they can switch affiliation again. Party is declared at the poll. No need to register before. Had they not voted at all, they could have ran on either ticket. A quirk in state law. Karma is a b***h.

Since you have no legal background at all, I don’t think you qualified at all to talk about what McDonnell is doing with respect to “rational basis.”

McDonnell is really making a political argument and claiming that he is required by the Constitution. From what you cited, McDonnell hasn’t provided one piece of case law to provide support for his argument that this employment “discrimination” violates the Due Process clause. He’s making a political argument and trying to use the law as cover.

Will the Senate and Recon bills be considered one bill? If so, the entire combined bill must be passed again by the Senate. Since the massive bill has provisions that cannot go through Recon, then it must pass in normal order with 60 votes. In that case, why not just amend the Senate bill with the Recon changes?

If they are considered two separate bills (passed by the House with just one up or down vote) then the Senate can ignore the Recon bill and the separate Senate bill can be signed by Obama. How is this any different then passing the Senate bill and immediately passing the Recon fixes?

  63. Phil says:

    Something about the Alamo?

Ok. Most historians believe had the 250 defenders actually made a break for it during the 13 days of the siege, many, if not most could have escaped. The Mexican lines were not that tightly secured. A number of messengers left and even came back during the siege.

Seriously, the River Walk is full of snakes. The Alamo is okay. I think the problem is that so many tall buildings are around it that it gets overwhelmed. I am sure back in the 1800x, it was an impressive building. The Mexican food is great. But that’s true all over Texas.

I currently have a field poll gauging a matchup between H P Lovecraft’s diabolical monster Cthulhu and Reid. Early returns on that poll aren’t looking too good for the Senate Majority Leader.

  124. MFG says:

My people are polling the critical Lee Harvey Oswald – Blanche Lincoln matchup tonight

Looking forward to getting the numbers tomorrow morning…

All these limited government men who want to use government power to monitor women’s uteruses. Too funny! Perhaps government should start limiting erections.

  142. Chekote says:

It’s hard to see the awkwardness of Biden’s visit so far having a broader political impact. But it does contribute to the impression, fair or unfair, that President Obama is presiding over an era of diminished American influence, in which allies and rivals alike feel comfortable thumbing their noses at a White House focused above all else on its domestic priorities.

Maybe Obama will learn that being respected is more important than being liked.

  143. KnightHawk says:

The one trick pony rides again.
