Romney Leads In MI and AZ

Rasmussen is showing Mitt Romney surging past Rick Santorum into the lead among Republicans in the state of Michigan.

Mitt Romney 40%
Rick Santorum 34%
Paul and Gingrich Not Mentioned For Free

As usual, Rasmussen confuses me with where he places the paywall. Apparently you have to pay to find out whether Gingrich or Paul is in third place. This poll was done February 23rd among 750 likely voters. Rasmussen also sees a surge by Romney in Arizona.

Mitt Romney 42%
Rick Santorum 29%
Newt Gingrich 16%
Ron Paul 8%

This poll was done February 23rd among 750 likely voters. Rasmussen also released a poll for Pennsylvania which extended over a ridiculous 16 days claiming Romney trails Obama by a single percentage point while Santorum trails by 6%.

The good thing is that Romney didn’t have to go all that negative on Santorum. This collapse is 100% his own doing. All Romney had to do is let Santorum be Santorum.

    #7 susy — your welcome.

Here’s a 2008 Obama campaign ad complaining about $3.50 oil prices. Funny…..everything he dissed in 2008 is worse in 2012.

  9. Tina says:

    Hi Rube Rock.

  10. dinglewoodnorwoodbill says:

Romney by definition is an even bigger spender than Rick is. He supports mandates, supported TARP along with stimulus.

Santorum actually went for balanced budgets as far back as 1994.

Once again Romney uses carpetbombing with SuperPacs to tell voters to go against somebody without being able to articulate why they should *support* him.

Also funny is when Rasmussen said Santorum led, it was all dismissed by members of this site, now that they release a poll showing Romney doing well, it’s touted as good news!

  11. janz says:

Jeb Bush comments on the state of the 2012 candidates, as being akin to a ‘circular firing squad.’

  12. jason says:

” Here’s my track record of supporting losers.

In 2010, I donated to Rand Paul, Pat Toomey, Marco Rubio, and Mike Lee. But I love Obama!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!”

    Wow, impressive.

Personally I donated to Nancy Pelosi, Dennis Kucinich, Jan Schakowsky, Rush Holt and Elizabeth Warren.

    But I love Romney!!!!!!

  13. dinglewoodnorwoodbill says:

Romney has no method of fighting for indies with Obama due to his fathering Obamacare with Romneycare. This is the signature issue of the campaign, and if primary voters make the mistake of sending Romney up against Obama, it plays into the left’s hands.

The left has been bombarding Santorum for weeks with hits pieces, which is designed to derail our strongest candidate in the fall, while they hold fire on Mitt until he wins the nomination, then he will be portrayed on class warfare grounds and will be detoothed over his support for mandates.

If the left believed social issues Rick was a loser, they’d not be doing everything under the sun to avoid his winning the primaries.

Sadly, our side falls for this trick every single time.

Social issues are not important to voters in the economy climate, but financial ones are, so Santorum does not bleed over them, regardless of his views, and Mitt does not gain because history shows in bad times banker type GOP nominees lose. Wake up peeps.

  14. Waingro says:

Mitt speaking to only 1,200 people at Ford Field. NOT a smart decision to change the venue.

  15. jason says:

Dinglewood is a moron. How could Romney be a bigger spender than the guy who was porking for 12 years in the Senate???

Nobody here ever said Romney was leading in Michigan when all the polls showed he wasn’t.

So why not celebrate a poll showing him winning?

  16. bio mom says:

Excerpt from the Karen Santorum interview on Glen Beck’s radio show.

She said the campaign has been challenging, and said some would “have to be crazy to want” to be president. But she said she and her husband escape that because for them “it’s completely a spiritual thing. This is God’s will.”

“The ‘want’ is a mission to make the culture a better culture, more pleasing to God,” Mrs. Santorum said. “For us it’s all about making the world a better place.”

But of course, Santorum isn’t running on theology or anything, is he?

213.Jason, you’re a real benefit to this board. Your maturity and level headedness show through every time you comment.

Only a boy with your attributes could claim anyone not enthused with Romney is obviously an Obama supporter.

Keep it coming. I need the laugh.

    Comment by Robbie — February 24, 2012 @ 12:08 pm

Its strange, I have said repeatedly that I am not enthused with Romney, but nobody has yet accused me of being an Obama supporter…I wonder why that would be?

I am enthused with BEATING Obama, and Romney is the best choice out of the options we have…someone who could actually beat Obama.

  18. jason says:

    Wobbie Troll is a clown.

I was for Daniels and Christie before Romney, nobody called me a troll either.

Everyone picks on Wobbie for the heck of it. The trash he writes has absolutely nothing to do with it.

  19. bio mom says:

????The left is holding fire on Mitt??? Every other article in the New York Times for months has been a hit piece on Mitt. They only recently said anything at all about Santorum until he opened his mouth about Satan, etc. Also, ???left is trying to keep Santorum from winning the primaries??? They are VOTING for him in Michigan polls!! You live in an alternative universe.

  20. jason says:

“Jason, you’re a real benefit to this board. Your maturity and level headedness show through every time you comment.”

Some people just don’t know when to stop once their point is made. This was the perfect place…. 8)

Ugh. These quasi gaffes by Mitt do not help.

    “Ben White ? @morningmoneyben:

For the love of Pete, Romney really said his wife drives “a couple of Cadillacs?” It would be better for that campaign if he didn’t speak.”

  25. Annie says:

#6 – jan – It’s the old adage about not getting involved when your competition is hanging himself. I just finished watching Romney’s economic speech – a mixture of his stump speech mixed with a more detailed laying out of his policy ideas. The larger venue didn’t bother me, because the camera stayed tight on the candidate, and I’m sure the people who were responsible for the venue didn’t want people fainting from too many people using up oxygen in the room (which may be the secret to Obama’s following of “fainters”). Purely from a Communications 101 perspective, Romney should train to be less hesitant in the flow of his speaking and stop smacking his lips before starting a sentence (he does that mainly at the beginning of speeches – either because of dry lips or as a subconscious means to relax). As far as the content of the speech and the competence of the man, Romney is now obviously the only candidate that has the experience and know-how to run a national government. He also has far more knowledge for governance than Obama, who has been winging-it throughout the past three years in office. (And it shows in the state of the nation – do not buy for a second the White House spin about the economy’s wonderful “recovery.” Any well-managed economy would have had a far greater rebound and much sooner – and, of course, the numbers Obama uses negates the millions of people who are under-employed or simply dropped out of the job market.)

  26. Waingro says:

#24, I am ALL for Mitt, but I’m not gonna keep my head in the sand either.

  27. Waingro says:

    Gallup daily tracking:

    Santo: 33%(-1)
    Mitt: 27%(nc)
    Newt: 16%(+1)

    Barry at 45% approval (nc)

    Unemployment at 9.1% (+.1)

  28. Annie says:

26 – Cadillacs cost less than BMWs or Lexus vehicles, and are made in Hamtramck and Lansing, Michigan. This was NOT a gaffe on Romney’s part. The people of Michigan (and people who know GM) will know this.

  29. Tina says:

What is the venue change issue about?

  30. bio mom says:

So now some of you have made sure we all know about driving cadillacs. I would now like you to give us equal enlightenment on the tax plan and policy which was the thrust of the speech. …Waiting….

  31. Waingro says:

#31, it was supposed to be in hotel that could only fit 700 people.

  32. Annie says:

The Economic Club was originally slated for a smaller venue, but when it was announced that Romeny would speak, they had an influx of people interested in attending. They had to hurry and find a venue big enough for the larger group of people. They were offered Ford Field in Detroit, the only place big enough on short notice, so they went with it. Of course, a football stadium holds tens of thousands, and the Detroit Economic Club only has a few thousand members (of which, about 1,200 attended). So, the camera shots of the crowd looked small in contrast to the rest of the stadium. Really, not a big deal…

  33. EML says:

30 – not true. Cadillac CTS is more expensive than BMW 3-series. Cadillac DTS is a couple hundred cheaper than a 5-series, but throw in BMW’s 4 years of free service, and it’s cheaper as well.

  34. EML says:

    Dinglewood = Chekote?

  35. Waingro says:

#33, he did fine overall. It was basically a regurgitation of his op-ed that got released yesterday.

He’s not a great speaker, but he’s very articulate, and that’s all we need right now.

  36. Waingro says:

#38 I should insert “very articulate on economic issues”.

  37. Annie says:

bio mom – Too much detail to put into this blog – cut to capital gains tax, supply-side economics, etc. Very well thought out policy, actually. Here’s the speech, which you should read:

  38. Annie says:

    EML – I drive a BMW 545i

  39. Annie says:

EML – If it makes you happier…I’ll clarify with “most Cadillacs” cost less.

  40. ParakeetsForBuddyRoemer says:

  41. Corey says:

Good for Mitt for owning Cadillacs!

Are they supposed to have foreign cars like Santorum does?

My grandfather, who like Mitt Romney was born in Detroit, drove a Cadillac.

  42. EML says:

43 – so every time she comes out with a new candidate she is supporting, she has to change her screen name?

  43. Corey says:

“dinglenorwoodbill” has to be an homage to Al Gore’s 2000 Presidential debate performance.

  44. bio mom says:

Is Romney planning on appearing on any of the Sunday shows this weekend? He never does them, or hardly ever. I think that is is a big mistake. Santorum is on Meet the Press this Sunday. Gingrich is ALWAYS on one or the other of them.

  45. Corey says:

Romney’s audience today at Ford Field was 1,200 people. The original venue was only able to hold 700 so they changed it because of the demand.

There was never any anticipation of filling Ford Field in any way, shape, or form, so I am not sure what tehre is for the left for whoemver to make fun of.

  46. Robbie says:

31.What is the venue change issue about?

    Comment by Tina — February 24, 2012 @ 1:35 pm

Romney’s speech was to be held at a hotel ballroom, but they moved it to Ford Field believeing the response to hear the speech would be higher.

  47. ParakeetsForBuddyRoemer says:

    45 EML

Yes, shes also embarrassed I renamed her “Coathanger” so she conceals her identity

And after supporting Newt so strongly how could she justify now supporting Pope Ricky?

  48. Corey says:

Not much to gain by going on the Sunday Shows. He will do them periodically. He’s probably in church on Sunday mornings.

  49. ParakeetsForBuddyRoemer says:

I cant wait for the first batch of “Yes, Mitt won MI and AZ but IT DOESNT MATTER!!!”

  50. dinglewoodnorwoodbill says:

Apparently Romney has lied in the debate and is disqualified as a candidate. He stands for everything wrong with Obama on conscience protection, according to this analysis. He did throw Catholic hospitals under the bus.

This ought to be Santorum’s new attack ad?

  51. Corey says:

I am just glad to see that the legit Romney supporters here seem to be in much better mood than last Friday. I knew that would wind up being the case.

    Back later today…

  52. ParakeetsForBuddyRoemer says:

Have you noticed that multimillionaire lobbyist Pope Ricky doesn’t tithe?

  53. Annie says:

Parakeet – It isn’t a tradition with most Catholics to tithe. We just put money in the collection basket each Sunday.

  54. Annie says:

dingle – Romney’s state legislature and Massachusetts judges stated that it must be part of the law. Not Romney’s doing…

  55. Dr. SoHope says:

Ok…well if the rest of the christian comunity was as charitable with their money we would be in serrious trouble.

  56. Dr. SoHope says:

Santorum is all for big givernment help to the needy but doesnt put his money where his mouth is.

  57. Annie says:

Most Catholics think tithing is Old Testament, so it isn’t required. However, Santorum’s lack of giving more to charity does say something about him (or his pocketbook). He does have a history of trying to get money for himself through his position. The financing of his kids’ educations comes to mind.

  58. Annie says:

Must get back to work – at least it’s Friday! Bye for now, all –

  62. SUSYQUE says:

Annie…this was posted yesterday by another. I will try to find the name of the poster.

“Former Massachusetts Gov. Mitt Romney is the most qualified candidate for president in the past 75 years, says Jack Welch, former chairman and CEO of General Electric.

“In my lifetime, Mitt Romney is the most qualified leader I’ve ever seen run for the presidency in the United States,” Welch, 76, said during an appearance today on CNBC.

Welch listed Romney’s accomplishments, including his degrees from Harvard law and business schools, his success in the business world, running the 2002 Winter Olympics, and as governor.

“We haven’t’ had anybody do all these things . . . Certainly [President Barack] Obama didn’t have those credentials, two years in the Senate,” he said. “Come on, we got a guy a here who’s a leader that’s demonstrated beyond anything we’ve ever had, great family. We’re the luckiest people in the world to have this guy there at this point in time.”

  63. Dr. SoHope says:

Ben, thats right ignore new polls and post old ones. That will work.

  64. DW says:

wow, Obama up only three in combined poll of CO, NV and NM?

  68. bio mom says:

  69. ParakeetsForBuddyRoemer says:

  70. bio mom says:

I am waiting for the same type of picking apart every word said by Santorum in his speeches. Only Romney is scrutinized in this way. I would shrug this off but am starting to get angry with this sort of thing. Ignore the substance, pick on everything else, even his mannerisms. When we have a great need in this country for his skillset. I agree with Jack Welch quoted above. This country is lucky he is willing and available to help it out in these tough days. Santorum is just another lifelong politician. We have had our fill of that type.

Romney! Romney! Romney!, right bio mom?

Let’s just ignore all of the mistakes he continues to make and just focus on how rotten and awful Santorum and Newt are. After all,Romney is so electable, except the polls says that.

  74. Robbie says:

    bio mom

You really think Santorum’s words haven’t been picked apart? Do you pay attention to the news or do you just bask in the glow of Romney’s electability?

For the last 10 days, every single word Santorum has ever said has been picked apart by the media. We’ve heard all about his positions on abortion, contraception, Satan, and Obama’s phoney theology.

Every single word Santorum has said or written that’s controvecial has been talked about, espcially here by the Romney huggers. To say otherwise is just crazy. I’m providing a much needed contrast to the Romney worship that is in full effect every day here.

We’re not in the general election yet so we don’t need to carry water for Romney until it gets to that point and, believe me, we’re going to have to carry a lot of water for him.

My concern is that Mitt Romney CANNOT win the general election. The base is unenthused by him and he is losing support form Independents as the primary moves along. He also supported a healthcare plan that became the basis for Obamacare and he refuses to say it was a mistake.

Making matters worse, he is a gaffe prone candidate. So is Obama, but Obama has the media on his side. Every time Mitt goes off script, he says something dumb like the trees are the right height or his wife has several Cadillacs. Let’s not forget he’s also said he’s not concerned about the poor.

Don’t take this to mean I’m in love with Santorum or Newt. I think they both suck, but Romney is not much better. I keep hearing he’s the most electable, but based on what? Polls from last year before the primary started? Take away electability and what does Romney have?

We’re going to be stuck with one of these baffoons, but that doesn’t mean we need to put whipped cream on dog crap.

  124. lisab says:

Speaking, perhaps. But political optics have never been Barack Obama’s strong suit.

He talks, by golly, about ending special tax breaks so that every American pays their fair share, while 36 of his own aides owe the IRS more than $833,000 in back taxes.

He urges Americans to vacation on the beleaguered Gulf Coast while his wife flies with pals to a luxury hotel in Spain. He promises the most open government in history and VP Joe Biden meets with the chief of administration transparency — in a closed meeting. Twice.

To underline his commitment to green energy and conservation, Obama travels to an electric car photo op — in a 17-vehicle motorcade of SUVs.

So, Thursday the president of the United States climbed into his government jet and flew two hours down to Florida to talk at University of Miami student engineers about energy conservation and innovation.

He forgot to mention the Solyndra solar scandal and the $545 million blown on the company of his fundraiser, but said great progress is being made in alternative energy sources.

As evidence, Obama cited the Miami-Dade Museum which, he said, has a windmill that by itself on a typical day can generate up to 10% of the energy needs of one local home. (The president’s math would seem to suggest the need for about 10 wind turbines to power every house, which could make for crowded neighborhoods.)

Obama didn’t have time to go into his killing of the Pipestone XL pipeline from Canada that would have saved the United States from buying 700,000 barrles of oil per day from unfriendly regimes in turbulent distant areas.

But the Democrat said he’s got big government plans to have scientists study how to power more vehicles with natural gas, which the U.S. has in such abundance, he said, that it may soon be exporting some. And then Obama got to the exciting new part of his energy speech.

“We’re making new investments,” he said, “in the development of gasoline and diesel and jet fuel that’s actually made from a plant-like substance — algae. You’ve got a bunch of algae out here, right?”

With the knowledge that only he had the stat handy, Obama said, “Believe it or not, we could replace up to 17% of the oil we import for transportation with this fuel that we can grow right here in the United States.”

cost per gallon of algae fuels?

    $26 per gallon

Wobbie Troll is a moron who keeps regurgitating canned talking points from other sites.

There are literally hundreds of polls showing Romney competitive with Obama, just yesterday it was 50-46 on Gallup.

And what differentiates Romney from the pack is the fact his polling against Obama holds up EVEN WHEN HE NOT THE FLAVOR OF THE DAY. His support remains relatively steady as the other fluctuate up and down depending if the are front runners or getting all the media attention.

Santorum’s surge is basically stopped nationally, going back in Michigan and AZ. Why, because he can’t withstand the scrutiny the front runner status brings.

Like Drudge says, Romney is the guy still standing after all the hoopla.

No, we don’t. We just need to pray Mitt gets a new personality software update that prevents him from going off script.

  134. Robbie says:

You’re just as guilty of repeating canned talking points in favor of Mittens. I can’t wait to hear how his wife having a couple of Cadillacs is a good line.

  135. Wobbles says:

Last week you wanted a brokered convention, what changed?

  136. Robbie says:

Santorum’s not going to win the nomination, but you’re out of your mind if you think support is suddenly going to start flowing to Romney. He will have to battle for a long time to put away the worst field in modern presidential politics. Thank goodness he’s electable.

  137. Corey says:

I don’t get it. Why is the wife driving a couple Cadillacs a bad thing.

What if she had Toyotas or Hondas or Merecdeses?

Why is driving a Cadillac a bad thing in Michigan?

It is a bad thing that the couple have more than 1 or 2 cars? The family is rich. People know that. What is so wrong with that? That is a good thing.

How many cars do you think Jay Leno and his wife have?

  140. jason says:

” Let’s not forget he’s also said he’s not concerned about the poor.”

Let’s have the exact quote, not Wobbie Troll’s creative editing:

” I’m not concerned about the very poor; we have a safety net there. If it needs repair, I’ll fix it. I’m not concerned about the very rich, they’re doing just fine. I’m concerned about the very heart of the America, the 90 percent, 95 percent of Americans who right now are struggling, and I’ll continue to take that message across the nation.”

He’s concerned about the situation of 95% of Americans, that’s not good for Wobbie.

  141. Robbie says:

143.Last week you wanted a brokered convention, what changed?

    Comment by Wobbles — February 24, 2012 @ 5:52 pm

Not to quibble, but what I’ve wanted is for a new candidate to enter, win a few races, and ensure there is a contested/open convention.

A brokered convention is one where a group of insiders meet during the convention, pick the candidate they want, and tell the delegates to nominate him.

    That would be a disaster.

  142. lisab says:

“Should a person be able to enter a contract to sell vital organs after their death in exchange for money upfront?”

i have no problem with people getting money for their organs after their death

so long as they go to the national organ donor registry who would determine who gets the organ based on need

    selling is fine

but if people could buy organs privately, without regard to medical necessity, charlie sheen could easily outbid an otherwise healthy five year old for a kidney — which a libertarian would be ok with

however, a medical board would favor the five year old … for the same reason doctors do not typically transplant into smokers, drug users or alcoholics

I am hoping a fine legal mind like Bitter will elucidate everything by posting a summary of the main legal points on both sides.

  209. lisab says:

actually you are the one who is foolish because you are trying to justify the prohibition of prostitution, which cannot be done given our current legal system. sex outside of marriage is not illegal. moreover, it is not illegal to pay for sex on camera.

that is, if wes takes a chilli’s waitress to hawaii and they have sex, it is legal … likewise, if he gives her $500 and they have sex on camera it is also legal. sooooooo … there is no logical reason they cannot have sex without a camera or alternatively he can not just give her the price of the hawaiian trip.

my position is absolutely consistent. i already said the best solution is to allow regulated prostitution and regulated organ sales.

the worst solution is to make them illegal

  210. SoHope says:

Jason, I content that both are wrong for similar reasons. Lisab says that one is ok but not the other, but can’t give one logical reason why.

  214. lisab says:

“I will paraphrase one of your comments from last night:

“Why is a private transaction between 2 consenting adults anyones business?”

you are however trying to equate a life and death situation like denying a 5 year old a transplant in favor of someone who doctors would not give a transplant … which is clearly bad for society

allowing charlie sheen to hire the “best prostitute” for the highest price … a situation which has no negative outcome for society

Michelle Obama: “Every Day I Hear About How Folks Are Struggling” …(But It Didn’t Stop Her From Taking 16 Vacations)

otherwise you could get significant moral hazards again … e.g. a prostitute with aids still working

if they say there is nothing wrong with selling to the highest bidder, i.e. no significant moral hazard, then i would be ok with that.

  228. SoHope says:

One could also say that access to prostitutes is a matter of life and death for some

Cheeseburgers make you fat and fried chicken makes you fat. so, lets test all fried chicken before it is eaten, but have all cheeseburgers be sold but not bought and then distributed by need.

  241. lisab says:

“If some things have similar risks that warrent regulation they should have similar LEVELS of regulations”

however, a child can die if charlie sheen buys a kidney by outbidding a more needy recipient

you won’t die if charlie sheen buys your preferred prostitute

    thus the higher regulation needed

  242. SoHope says:

“I am a liberal. I am allowed to be inconsistant in my calls for legalization and regulation” is a good enough excuse for you, but I don’t think it flies.

  243. SUSYQUE says:

  244. SoHope says:

Can Charlie Sheen buy the services of the best kidney doctor and team by outbidding the 5 year old?

  245. pitchaboy says:

    Krauthammer schooling the idiot Oreilly

  246. SoHope says:

Can he outbid the 5 year old for corneas or tendons?

  247. lisab says:

if charlie sheen is allowed to outbid a child for a kidney, only charlie sheen is happy

if charlie sheen is allowed to outbid you for a prostitute

    everybody wins, especially the prostitute

so … we have to go with the greater social good

  248. Tim V says:

    now 3-2.

  249. SoHope says:

I am not on the “needs to get laid” database and therefor couldn’t buy sex even if I wanted to

…neither is your husband for a different reason (snip, snip)

  250. SoHope says:

thanks tim, now she is going to concentrate on catching up and ignore the stupidity of her stance on the issue.

  251. lisab says:

“I … couldn’t buy sex even if I wanted to”

    that is probably true

    but we are speaking theoretically

    not about you per se

  252. SoHope says:

look at me…I can take a third of someones post and make it mean something else.

“…children can… have sex with children… in massachusetts”

  253. lisab says:

you really should try booking time with wahkeena

  254. SoHope says:

sorry, you are not my type. I prefer women, I like my testicles where they are, and I hear unitards are very itchy

  255. Marv says:

“Brokered convention with Perry for the win………and…..Yes

  256. SoHope says:

ahhh crap…#262 was bunu, and I clicked on his link. Now I have to format my hard drive. Bunu, quit changing handles!!!!

  257. lisab says:

    “I prefer women”

i think the issue here is that they do not prefer you

thus your need to look up wahkeena

maybe hhr could run a fundraiser

  258. Tim V says:

265- Bravo ! bring it on

  259. SoHope says:

“…a child can die…everybody wins” -lisab

Really now that is just wrong!

  260. lisab says:

bid high … bid very high 🙂

  261. Lisa's Logic says:

    I’m on vacation.

  262. Lisa's Logic says:

I think you can rent out your nannie but you can’t sell your kidney. Selling a kidney is degrading

  263. Tim V says:

Marv, I liked Perry. I still do. I’m sorry he wasn’t a little quicker on his feet in the debates. I think he would have been a solid president.

  264. Lisa's Logic says:

Hey government, keep your hands off my liver.

  265. Tim V says:

MFG, your robottie schtick was actualy pretty funny. Of course I didn’t like a bit of the language but it was creative and humorous.

  266. lisab says:

    somebody is grumpy

wahkeena can help you with that

    for a price

  267. Tim V says:

    268 was interesting

  268. Lisa's Logic says:

Did I mention that stockholders come ahead of union pensions? when I’m in charge, shareholders supersede creditors.

  269. Lisab's Eunuch says:

sometimes I think you like Wahkeena more than me

  270. SoHope says:

“It is 2020. Findings by environmental scientist Professor Thom Archer suggest that Halo, the corporate energy company drilling on the Greenland Glacier are causing it to melt. Archer’s warnings are ignored, so he heads to the Arctic to find indisputable evidence. Upon arrival, he realizes humankind is under immediate threat, and races home to save his family. The glacier collapses, with devastating consequences. Astonishing weather patterns emerge and plunge the world’s temperatures into steep decline.”

They make movies about this crap.

  271. Lisab's Eunuch says:

forget about Dr. Hope and come to bed, please

  272. SoHope says:

So they can lay next to each other, read Cosmo, and talk about interior design and hum broadway showtoons till they fall asleep.

  273. malthus says:

Thom archer is a righteous dude.

  274. lisa's logic says:

Don’t forget. We love our romneycare. We have the most expensive insurance in the nation. That’s fair and righteous. Sometimes my girlfriends give a little extra to a nice man for a health insurance payment.

  275. lisab says:

    poor sohope

the lack of sex has finally caused him to lose his mind

  276. lisa's logic says:

    Comment by lisab

    What’s my excuse?

  277. Robbie says:

According to my Twitter feed, Santorum, when asked about Tuesday, says we’re going to try. To me, that sounds like an admission he knows he won’t win. It wouldn’t surprise me to see Romney win going away.

  278. SUSYQUE says:

#289…What do you mean by this:

It wouldn’t surprise me to see Romney win going away.

  279. mini robbie says:

Sycophant annie please read NRO about romney and his cars.

  280. DrJay says:

Susy, are you asking Robbie why he thinks Romney may win going away, or are you asking what “win going away” means, or something else?

  281. mini robbie says:

National review says romney is tone deaf. Hhr boobs say no problem. Annie, bio, janz, he screwed up. Stop apologizing and fix it.

  282. SUSYQUE says:

#292…You said it sounds like Santorum wont win.
If he doesn’t win than Romney would…right?
but below you say Romney win going away.

According to my Twitter feed, Santorum, when asked about Tuesday, says we’re going to try. To me, that sounds like an admission he knows he won’t win. It wouldn’t surprise me to see Romney win going away.
    Please clarify

  283. mini robbie says:

Sycophant annie has replaced susy as most annoying poster. The sun will come up tomorrow. Annie your boy is a train wreck.

  284. SUSYQUE says:

    #293…National Review is backing Santorum!

  285. John Kerry says:

Hey Mitt, thanks for making me sound like a man of the people.

  286. DrJay says:

    I didn’t make the statement…

But, “to win going away” is a phrase that means the margin of victory was increasing when the contest ends… Robbie is saying that Romney may win by an even larger margin over Santorum than we are seeing now (because the gap will be ever increasing between now and then).

  287. mini robbie says:

Susy you ignorant slut, national review endorsed romney last time and will again. They and george will realize he’s a loser if there isn’t a change in the world. Romney is so pathetic he will lose to 4 50 gas. And btw he is raising taxes on the wealthiest. The sycophants pretend that isn’t happening.

  288. SUSYQUE says:

#298 Thanks for the explanation…It would have been easier to understand if he said Romney’s win is more assured, or will be greater. I understand standard English…but now statistical jargon.

  289. mini robbie says:

What a thread. Jonah goldberg hates romney, national review wants santorum, talking about multiple caddies isn’t tone deaf. Romney is raising taxes on the most productive and nobody protestd. No wonder all the intelligent life has left this site.

  290. bio mom says:

Mini Robbie Read the comments to that stupid NRO article. Universally bashing the author. American cars, in Detroit! A winner for Romney. And you and Walsh are really Rae ding this wrong. Americans hate class warfare.

  291. mini robbie says:

Bio if you don’t get the optics I can’t help you. Romney is the gop kerry. He’s electable. Only he isn’t. Bush was loarthed by the left. He was a sure loser. The dems nominated an electable guy and lost. Romney is a stiff, out of touch and from massachusetts. You keep thinking people will show up to throw out an awful president. No they won’t. Not for a guy who will raise taxes on the rich, supports mandated health care and cap and trade. You can argue all day that he’s not obama. The perception is that he is. Or kerry.

  292. DrJay says:

    you’re welcome, susyque

  293. mini robbie says:

And bio, you can say americans don’t like class warfare but that won in 92 96 08 and lost in 00 and 04. Except 00 was a dead heat and if mitt is the nominee itr will win again. Mitt is not going to win barring a europe collapse or an israeli invasion. If the election were rtoday hed lose worse than mccain. Much worse. He has lost an unlosable race.

  294. bio mom says:

No. You are the one who is wrong. You are looking at tithe superficial. We need competence

  295. mini robbie says:

Bio, I can’t help you. You know who ran on competence? Dukakis. That is a losing premise. We need leadership plus competence. Your way leads to a wipeout. You are in total denial about the state of the race.

  296. bio mom says:

Santorum is just another lifelong Washington pol. And mini Robbie is just spouting his talking points.

  297. bio mom says:

Leading a company is real. Voting as one of 100 in the Senate is not.

  298. Compendium of Fake Definitions for HHR Typos says:

“loarth” (verb): to hate with such venom so as to cause one to vomit. (loarthed, loarthing)

example: Bush was “loarthed” by the left.

  299. SUSYQUE says:

#299…don’t you call me a slut. You had better run to a shrink because you are delusional and on the verge of a mental breakdown. No decent sensible man calls a decent sensible woman a slut!
mini is a good adjective for you…you think small and maybe there is more to that than you would admit.

  300. Help Desk Guy says:

I have not seen a beating this bad since the Tyson Spinx fight. You have beaten them so badly you have now reduced them to using fake handles!

Stossel had a special on legalizing prostitution tonight. Basically said exactly what you did. Are you advising him now?

How is the Iraq-Iran population fight going?

  301. mini robbie says:

Susy you are a vapid banal slut. Bio I loarthe and loathe santorum but you are in total denial. Santorum is a speed bump. Romney is losing to obama not ricky the susy of politics.

  302. dinglewoodnorwoodbill says:

The most liberal gov in history, an article exposing Romney on things many are not aware of.

A must read for anyone supporting Romney for any reason.

He also lied in the debate about the Catholic hospitals in MA and protecting conscience, this is a disqualifying black mark.

Vote for Santorum in AZ and MI, if a Newt voter, vote for Rick in these 2 states…

  303. SUSYQUE says:

#13…Sad to say, that you denigrate a woman you really don’t know and call her a vile name. Perhaps you were raised in the ghetto or a barrio and don’t know better. Perhaps you don’t have a moral compass and so you do not realize how tainted you are when you release your frustration by cursing women in some way. Are you married or do you have a sister or a mother? Would you want some strange man calling them sluts…I don’t think so…but maybe…you really don’t care because you have hate in your heart.
That’s a bad place to be.

  304. mini robbie says:

Susie stop playing the gender card you loser. You sound like a liberal. You are an idiot regardless of gender

  305. Tim V says:

    mini robbie = addison ?

  306. dinglewoodnorwoodbill says:

Another site exposing Romney for who he actually is.

  307. Tim V says:

    318- hi chek

  308. SUSYQUE says:

    #313..#316…mini robbie.
I will end this undeserved attack on my character with this:
Contend not with a woman for no reason…when she
has done you no wrong. Proverbs 3:30 Jewish Bible

#317…Perhaps you are correct, Tim V

  309. Tim V says:

why hide behind a fake hadle, who are you mini robbie ? dave wissing knows. you should be banned.

  310. Tim V says:

o 23:9 Speak not in the ears of a fool: for he will despise the wisdom of thy words.

  311. Compendium of Fake Definitions for HHR Typos says:

“hadle” (noun): a posting alias chosen to specifically mock or deride the chosen posting alias of another commenter

example: MFG posted under the “hadle” Robottie to show how much he loarthes Robbie.

  312. SUSYQUE says:

#323…Where did you get your definition of hadle?
    or is it handle.
“hadle” (noun): a posting alias chosen to specifically mock or deride the chosen posting alias of another commenter
Who started all this foolish attacking one another on a blog? It is absurd to the ‘nth degree.

  313. lisab says:

    Help Desk Guy,

    long time no see 🙂

actually it was just iraq not iran, and i was correct as always 🙂

everyone seems to be using fake handles these days, knova, bitterlaw, tim v, mfg all use fake handles now

tm from ga, tina, mccain, pw and alan from texas are all gone

i am also in massachusetts now. i think i told you why — health reasons. so far so good.

  314. lisab says:

ummmmmm …actually tm is back deflavia is gone … so hard to keep track

  315. Robottie says:

    Click click click whirrrrr…

  316. SUSYQUE says:

#327-328..Tim V, thanks for those urls. I bookmarked them for future use.

  317. Tim V says:

    you’re welcome Susy. 🙂

  318. Hall Monitor says:

#327…Tim V…one of the savvy fellows who posts on HHR mentioned that this blog may tank because of the lack of serious discussion by many of the posters. (my paraphrase) David W. has one of the
best blogs in terms of easy usage than any other blog I have been to. Years ago, it was mainly politics and sports. Now it is littered with trash talk like the endless posts yesterday of body parts and sex. Not good. Not appropriate. We can have clean fun because we also have posters who are great punsters. Hopefully, we can return to some modicum of respect for one another. Disagreements don’t have to be peppered with swords and poison arrows. It’s called “accountable talk”.

  319. SoHope says:

Romney unintentionally reminded voters that he is rich…bad move.

To make up for it he needs to give his next speech dirty and stinky, wearing a “city streets” suit. No one will ever again think he is rich.

  320. bio mom says:

When I read all 50 of the comments reacting to a very negative piece on Romney by Michael Walsh at NRO that was all about the cars statement, only 2 agreed that it was a mistake. All other commenters said it was very American and that you can see 3 or 4 cars or trucks on peoples’ driveways across America, and they are not rich. The pundit class made a big deal over this but the citizenry, especially in Motor City and in Michigan, will probably relate well to it. The whole discussion is silly and being used by those who do not like Romney to deflect attention from his tax plan or other serious issues he is talking about.

Same for the choice of venue for his speech. The secret service nixed using the atrium at the field and that forced it to where it was in the stadium. Too bad but it wasn’t the campaign’s choice. The Economics Club chose the venue and then the security issues interfered. It is being emphasized for the same reasons as I gave above.

  321. Yolanda says:

    Ugh…Newest Romney gaffe:

“I know how much people out there are struggling. A number of my maids were telling me last week about how much it costs for them to fill up their gas tanks! And this is even though they drive foreign cars, which get much better mileage than American-made ones. They barely know English, and they know enough that Barack Obama is ruining this country! So, you see, I may have more money than Jesus, but even I see how much people are hurting out there!”

  322. Hall Monitor says:

#334…bio mom…You have the gift of putting words in context. I have yet to read your posts when you didn’t make sense. Good for you!

  323. SoHope says:

Romney supersized his combo at McDonalds…daddy warbucks needs to quit showing off the big bucks!

  324. Robottie says:

The four cars thing was a minor gaffe

Mitt should have said My wife and I own american cars, she has a cadillac and so do I very dependable we love em!

  325. SoHope says:

I am off to take my son to the mummy exibit…hold up the fort you guys.

  326. Bitterlaw says:

Hope will be all wrapped up today! Tip your waitresses.

  327. Bitterlaw says:

I was away last night judging a Mock Trial Contest at my college. Let’s just say that some of the college students were really good and some were not. The scary thing is that the Seniors are probably 21 or 22 years old. At 44, I am now literally twice their age.

  328. SUSYQUE says:

Rev. Franklin Graham ‘I Cannot Support the President or Vote for Him’

In this very short video, Rev. Graham says something that is very wrong.

  329. mnw says:

I am 3 times their age.

I always accept invites to be the mock trial judge! I like to make bad rulings ON PURPOSE… because that’s exactly whatreal judges do, & the little buggers need to get used to it.

    It’s really FUNNY to see how they react… slack-jawed amazement… “But… but… but that’s justwrong!”

Yeah! Get used to it. You think judges are uniformly bright, or FAIR– especially if their ole buddies are on the other side, kids?

Most of you ought to be in biz school anyway.

  330. Brandon says:

    Romney: 39%
    Santorum: 35%
    Gingrich: 11%
    Paul: 9%

Romney leads 50-29 among early voters. Santorum leads 41-29 among those that will vote on election day.

  331. Todd McCain says:

    346. Not sure I believe that one. Romney will win AZ by double digits.

  332. Robbie says:

I have a hard time believing that ARG Arizona poll.

  333. Robbie says:

But the ARG poll does match the Time and PP polls. The Marist and Rasmussen polls say something totally different.

  334. Bitterlaw says:

Mnw – I let in a little hearsay just to “F” with them. They handled it pretty well.

  335. SUSYQUE says:

Democratic Governors Discuss Bypassing Congress with Obama

How can this be legal? When will this charade of a government end? Where is a government of the people by the people and for the people? Help!
