Obama Leads in WI and NY

Earlier today, Public Policy Polling released more numbers from their poll in Wisconsin showing Barack Obama ahead of the Republican candidates.

Barack Obama (D-inc) 53%
Mitt Romney (R) 39%

Barack Obama (D-inc) 49%
Rick Santorum (R) 43%

Barack Obama (D-inc) 55%
Newt Gingrich (R) 37%

This poll was done February 23-26 among 900 registered voters. Clearly WABC in New York has too much money if they are paying Survey USA to do a Presidential poll in the state of New York.

Barack Obama (D-inc) 60%
Mitt Romney (R) 30%

Barack Obama (D-inc) 60%
Rick Santorum (R) 29%

Barack Obama (D-inc) 64%
Newt Gingrich (R) 25%

This poll was done February 24-26 among 518 registered voters.

Health and Human Services Secretary Kathleen Sebelius told a House panel Thursday that a reduction in the number of human beings born in the United States will compensate employers and insurers for the cost of complying with the new HHS mandate that will require all health-care plans to cover sterilizations and all FDA-approved contraceptives, including those that cause abortions.

“The reduction in the number of pregnancies compensates for the cost of contraception,” Sebelius said. She went on to say the estimated cost is “down not up.”

Romney steals delegate. Mitt Romeny is a worthless piece of crap. He is a disgrace to the Human Race. And the worst thing that can happen to this country is to have him be President of the United States.

  16. DrJay says:

“Michigan Republican party officials maintain that in February during their state committee meeting they unanimously passed procedures for allocating Michigan’s delegates to the National Convention.

“We agreed that if only 30 delegates would be designated as voting delegates [because of a 50% penalty from the RNC for holding the election early], the Michigan Republicans would send 2 from each congressional committee and 2 at large,” said Michigan RNC committeeman Saul Anuzis. “We agreed that the two at large delegates would be taken from the top of the slated delegations as submitted by the candidate who received the most votes statewide.”

“Regrettably, there was an error in the memo drafted and sent to the respective campaigns. There were questions raised at the time the memo…

The email traffic surrounding the drafting of the memo in early February makes explicitly clear what the intent of the committee was.

“The committee convened again last night to affirm that the intent was clear and that the memo was inaccurate. That affirmation came in a 4-2 vote. While we all regret the error in the memo, it does not change what was voted on by the committee, which was to award the two at-large delegates to the statewide winner. It was premature for any candidate to be declaring the delegate count prior to an official announcement by the Michigan Republican Party.”

    boo hoo

  17. CPA says:

Except the guy goes on MSNBC and clearly states that the two at-large will be proportional if you get 15% of the vote. CLEARLY, on video. DeleGATE theft.

  18. CPA says:

Plus, Santorum is within 100 votes in CD-5 and may ask for a recount. So even with the theft, Ricky could win outright.

  55. Ayatollah_Rick says:

Ayatollah Santorum already self destructed in Michigan with his culture wars.

Romney is now favored in 7 of 10 super tuesday states with Gingrich and Santorum splitting the remaining three.

If Santorum somehow wins Ohio, the race could limp on. Santorum winning in Washington (or Paul somehow) would also help slow Romney a bit as well, but doesn’t look like it’s going to happen at this point.

    Michigan was Santorum’s chance.

  56. TrueConservativesEmbraceSupportByDailyKosCommunists says:

    Mitt Romney hits back!

  57. Tina says:

Critics pointed to an NBC interview with the Chairman of the Michigan Republican Party from a few weeks ago, as he detailed how the two statewide delegates would not be winner-take-all.

And that’s how certain web sites that track the endless details on the delegate selection process understood things in Michigan as well.

“2 delegates are proportionally allocated to those candidate receiving 15% or more of the total statewide popular vote,” it says on, one of my favorite sites for the nitty gritty on delegates.

When all els fails, follow the rules.

  58. CPA says:

Saul baby lied. The memo was dated today not early Feb. the MI rep went on MSNBC on the 4th and gave a very detailed description of the proportional nature of the two at-large delegates which agreed with the real memo that went out on the 4th. They are lying now to cover their disgraceful theft. Only democrats steal elections, ergo Mittens is a democrat.

  66. TrueConservativesEmbraceSupportByDailyKosCommunists says:

You know what the best thing is?

Because of the Michael Moore/Kos votes Pope Ricky may actually have cost himself the state, since PPP said voters who made up their minds last day were going to break for Pope Ricky and they actually broke for Mitt due to disgust over these tactics

So had he played it honestly he might actually have won the state legitimately and gotten back in the race

  67. CPA says:

So the Michigan GOP needs to act quick to get this story to go away. Like give the delegate back to Santorum, stupid idiots.

  105. Wylie E. Coyote says:

“Most Republicans support the amendment in the name of the religious liberty protected under the First Amendment, though some worry about the implications for the upcoming elections.

Both sides seem to be missing the deeper point: This battle is exactly what you get when—in the words the president uses so often, which have come to capture his fundamental agenda—“We’re all in this together.”

Dismissing the amendment as “politics masquerading as morality,” Sen. Barbara Mikulski (D-MD) declaimed:

It allows any insurance company or any employer to deny coverage for any service they choose, based on a religious belief or a moral conviction. What is a moral conviction? I have moral convictions. You have moral convictions. We have different moral convictions.

Precisely. That’s why, in a free society, we don’t throw everybody and everything into the common pot. We allow individuals to pursue their individual goals according to their “different moral convictions.” We don’t force them into relationships, whether with employers or insurance companies or whomever, that offend those convictions.

Yet the more we socialize ever more of life—as we’ve gone far in doing with everything from health care to retirement to education and so much more—the more we deny individuals the choices that would otherwise be available to them in a truly free society.

We haven’t yet reached the point, as in some societies, where we regulate, through force of law, where people may live, or travel, or go to college, or what medical procedures they may or may not have. But with Obamacare, especially, we’re headed down that road. That’s why an AP poll last August showed that 82 percent of Americans opposed Obamacare’s individual mandate.

Republicans would be smart, therefore, if they stopped talking about contraceptives and started talking about liberty—about where this country is headed. The Tea Party people understood that, for the most part, and look what they accomplished in the last election. The country is ready for bold but credible ideas about getting government out of our lives.

We need people willing to say that the only thing we’re all in together is making this again a free country.”

  106. SoHope says:

    thx, janz

  107. Wylie E. Coyote says:

“Every time more money comes into existence, the dollars that you and I are already holding become less valuable because now there are more dollars chasing the same amount of goods and services.

Right now, the U.S. government says that the annual rate of inflation is somewhere around 2 percent. Those of you that have to buy food and gas on a regular basis realize how much of a joke that is.

Thankfully, there are others out there that keep track of these statistics as well. According to John Williams of, if inflation was measured the same way that it was back in 1980, the annual rate of inflation would be more than 10 percent right now.

But let’s use the doctored government numbers for a moment. Using the doctored numbers, what inflation has done to all of us is still absolutely horrific. Just check out the chart below. This is what the Federal Reserve was designed to do. It was designed to constantly expand the money supply and create inflation that never ends…”

“Neill Franklin once led such raids. The 33-year Maryland police veteran, now executive director of Law Enforcement Against Prohibition (, locked up hundreds of people for drugs and felt good about it.

“We really thought that these drugs made people evil,” he told me.

But 10 years ago Franklin decided that drugs—even hard drugs—do much less harm to Americans than does the drug war.

“Drugs can be—and are in many cases—problematic. But the policies that we have in place to prohibit their use are 10 times more problematic.”

The raids helped change his mind. “We end up with kids being shot…search warrants being served on the wrong home, innocent people on the other side of the door thinking that they are protecting their home.”

And the level of drug use remains about the same.

Still, most Americans support the drug war. Paul Chabot, White House drug adviser to Presidents George W. Bush and Clinton, told me: “We should be kicking down more doors….They’re kicking the door of somebody who’s a violent person.”

Violent? People who get high are rarely violent. The violence occurs because when something’s illegal, it is sold only on the black market. And that causes crime. Drug dealers can’t just call the cops if someone tries to steal their supply. So they form gangs and arm themselves to the teeth.”

When Jordan asked “Okay, without being too gory or graphic, so if somebody is homosexual, you would argue that they should not have sex?” Santorum stated, [4] “In every society, the definition of marriage has not ever to my knowledge included homosexuality. That’s not to pick on homosexuality. It’s not, you know, man on child, man on dog, or whatever the case may be. It is one thing. And when you destroy that you have a dramatic impact on the quality.”

In the AP version of the story, Santorum was also quoted as saying,[1] “If the Supreme Court says that you have the right to consensual sex within your home, then you have the right to bigamy, you have the right to polygamy, you have the right to incest, you have the right to adultery. You have the right to anything.” and “Whether it’s polygamy, whether it’s adultery, whether it’s sodomy, all of those things, are antithetical to a healthy, stable, traditional family.”
