  2. GF says:

NOOOO! Rick’s NOT in the lead: Undecided gets more votes than Sancto!
Rant over; see you all tomorow.

  3. MFG says:

Mitt needs to open up on Pope Ricky regarding his union support that would put him over the top

  4. GF says:

    Actually, I’ll leave you with a thought to stir things up;

Mitt wins three Deep South Primaries; LA, MS and AL. I’ll leave Bitter to moderate and prevent a Civil War thread from blossoming out of this. Discuss…

Hopefully, the rumors of Moss signing with the Nine are just that.

  6. MFG says:

    You dont want Moss?

I heard today the Nine think Colston is a product of the Saints system and is overrated (possibly true) and that they want to sign Moss

  7. Tina says:

Nope no Moss or Manning, Mfg.

CBS new national GOP poll puts Santorum back over Romney for the nomination…

We see the problem of voters, they PREFER Rick, but worry “he cannot win against Obama” so they vote accordingly.

Such a bandwagon effect is harmful for the process, I hope Santorum overcomes this since he’s the only serious candidate given Mitt’s stances on Romneycare and support of a national mandate.

Such a stance means he’s lied in 20 debates as Rick pointed out today in AL and it means he should withdraw from the race…

Tim V will like that song since he reads the the Catholic blogger other McCain and likes Santorum.

I’m just glad he doesn’t read the most annoying blogger who promotes Santorum who also seems to have a crush on Stacy McCain.

Side note, anyone remember the Occupy movement? Me neither.

  33. Bitterlaw says:

The Aints will suck again now that their dirty cheapshot defense has been exposed and Brees is going to walk at the end of the franchise tag.

  34. Peyton M says:

Me and Reid. Why play the games once I go there?

  35. MFG says:

Yeah Brees may be gone, may not even sign the franchise tag, may hold out they should have paid him the $23 million a year

  36. Emerica says:

When is Romney going to pull out the pictures of Santorum banging dudes in Larry Craig’s basement to stop him?

  37. BamaBo says:

It’s been a very interesting last few days here in Bama. The airwaves are saturated with commercials from all three candidates (no Paul) and robo calls galore. Romney and Newt have professional organizations in the state and are using the networks of other elected officials. Romney has been greatly helped by former governor Bob Riley and Newt has been helped by several legislators.

Romney did a very interesting thing today strategically today. He went on sports radio in Alabama today and praised the passion of college football in this state. He commended the Alabama Crimson Tide for winning a national championship which for 75% of citizens in the state is always a good thing.

Santo doesn’t really have this kind of organization or network or at least I haven’t noticed it. And because of this I think he finishes 3rd in Alabama tomorrow. My gut feeling is that Newt squeaks out a very narrow victory over Romney. Alabama is a proportional delegate state as long as a candidate gets at least 20% of the vote. So at the end of the night, Newt may score 1 more delegate than Romney.

  38. Peyton M says:

I’m gassing up the jet for philly. Btw congrats to jets for extending sanchez for 3 years. an option to avoid the superr bowl for that period.

Brandon, thank you for your accurate assessment of polls/delegates by state you have been providing this blog. Much appreciated. And yes, good song by Santorum’s daughters. With that said, Go Mitt, let’s eke out Mississippi, that should bring the fat lady out to sing if it happens.

  44. The Ghost of the Ghost of SoHope says:

#42, please don’t continue that thought. I don’t think my heart could handle the stress that would result from the ensuing hilarity.

  47. Brandon says:

Moss just signed with the Niners.

    Comment by MFG — March 12, 2012 @ 9:23 pm

Without the bounties they would have been 32nd. Would Brees really hold out? What’s the tag worth -$15 million? $$20 million? That’s a lot of guaranteed money to walk away from when your main talent in life is throwing a ball.

  49. Brandon says:

Welcome redneckman, I find politics and the math behind it fascinating.

  50. Tina says:

Not at the expense of the salary cap.

Better receiver to get would be the Pittsburg receiver. He is top notch, the rest are overrated has beens.

  51. The Ghost of the Ghost of SoHope says:

    #45, those weren’t Santorum’s daughters.

  52. MFG says:

You’re right, Intrade is big for FatToad getting AL MS

If Pope Ricky gets third in each I guess that’s OK

  53. Tina says:

I think I will throw up now with that info., Brandon.

  54. Bitterlaw says:

49.Moss just signed with the Niners.

I set the over/under at 6 games before Moss is cut for dogging it and only playing when he wants to play.

  55. MFG says:

Saints offered him $18 million a year for three years he wants $23 million, months ago I heard he wasn’t going to sign it

He may hold out, the fans will back him 98%

  56. Emerica says:

I wonder why the South likes Fat Toad so much.

  57. MFG says:

    Moss to the Nine…

Maybe that means we keep Colston? Hope we can keep Colston, looks like Nicks is gone, we can’t pay him

  58. MFG says:

I was surprised the Saints worked Moss out, they don’t like malcontents

Apparently we prefer premeditated criminality instead…

  59. Tina says:

Its so predictable, I told you that they want the Stanford TE, Coby Fleener. He is projected to be where they pick.

The ccoach was a 3 TE set for selectedd running plays and red zone.

  60. Tina says:

One year deal with how much?

We tried this last year with the NY Jet reject.

  61. Tina says:

Could have made it more entertaining and brought back TO.

  62. MFG says:

Saints are going to be lynched for what every other team does

Ever notice how Vick gets hit late over and over and over again?

They’re all trying to injure him

So why don’t the refs call it?

    They don’t like him…

  63. Peyton M says:

The harbaughs overachieved. They will nort be relevant next year w smiff. And rthe rams are coming soon.

  64. MFG says:

The Nine in ’11 reminded me of the Saints in ’09 both had big years because of their enormous plus margin in turnovers, hard to do that two years in a row

  65. Peyton M says:

Um vick runs around bc he can’t throw. Duh. So he gets hit. I don’t run. San frran is a joke. I’m not going there

  66. Tina says:

However, Papa said what might bother 49ers coach Jim Harbaugh is Moss’s lackluster practice habits and his indifference to blocking.

With the 49ers run-first emphasis, Moss might only be a part-time player with the 49ers and that might not sit well with him. However, Moss would be great in the team’s big package when extra linemen are brought in

Papa is the voice of the raiders, one of moss’s former teams.

  67. MFG says:

Randy Moss is a cancer on a team

Your only hope is he can keep his inner demons in check for one year to get a ring

    Maybe he can who knows…???

  68. Tina says:

The risk is not worth the reward imo.

With that said, Tinareports is reporting before ESPN that Alex will sign by tomorrow’s deadline. Contract agreed.

  69. MFG says:

Vick gets hit late EVERY time

Every team is trying to injure him, that was my point

    Its football

Its a thugged up game for animals (I’m not saying that as criticism)

  70. MFG says:

    Smith better sign ASAP

Does he even have a plan B if the Nine dont want him?

  71. Tina says:

Yeah, look at the Pittsburg receiver, the one that is cut or got cut, Ward. How many cheap shots to the DBs. I would have put a bounty on him if I was a Defense Coach. Knee injury.

How Engineering the Human Body Could Combat Climate Change

One human engineering strategy you mention is a kind of pharmacologically induced meat intolerance. You suggest that humans could be given meat alongside a medication that triggers extreme nausea, which would then cause a long-lasting aversion to meat eating.

Your paper also discusses the use of human engineering to make humans smaller.

What are the various ways humans could be engineered to be smaller?

Liao: There are a couple of ways, actually. You might try to do it through a technique called preimplantation genetic diagnosis, which is already used in IVF settings in fertility clinics today. In this scenario you’d be looking to select which embryos to implant based on height.

In the paper you also discuss the pharmacological enhancement of empathy and altruism, because empathy and altruism tend to be highly correlated with positive attitudes toward the environment.

In your paper you suggest that some human engineering solutions may actually be liberty enhancing.

Taking a look at this from the perspective of deep ecology—is there something to be said for the idea that because climate change is human caused, that humans ought to be the ones that change to mitigate it—that somehow we ought to bear the cost to fix this?

  73. Tina says:

MFG, your former Defensive Cooordinator looks like a nut. Now, we must deal with him twice a year.

  74. MFG says:

I am shocked at how apparently blatantly the Saints did this though

I want to hear more details

If they were actually paying bounties for injuries and that was explicitly stated they should all be fired Loomis Sean Payton Greg Williams all of them

  75. Tina says:

I also do not buy the head coach’s or the Brees’ statements that neither “knew about it.”

  76. MFG says:

I’m pretty sure the Rams will fire Williams Tina

  77. Tina says:

I should revise my statement, I do not believe the Head Coach, brees still on the fence, but leaning that he might have known something, but at the same time, he seems like a good sport.

  78. Tina says:

But who know/didn’t know – does not tarnish the SB win in any way.

  79. MFG says:

In ’09 the Saints unveiled that “blitz every play” insane defense and I thought OK we have to do that because we have no defensive talent

But in ’10 and ’11 too?

And apparently the model was we can’t tackle or defense passes so we will injure you?

  80. MFG says:

We have tarnished the title won in ’09

    Very sad

  81. Peyton M says:

Williams and payton are going to be suspended. And probably banned.

  82. MFG says:

    I wrote #83 before I read your #81 Tina

People are pretty bummed about this here…

  83. MFG says:

Defense and offense “live separate lives” as they go about preparing for each game

But Brees probably knew of the existence of the program if not all the details

  84. MFG says:

Why did Sean Payton let it continue though thats what surprises me?

  85. MFG says:

Mr Benson is 85 and not a hands on owner I’m sure he didnt know

  86. Tina says:

Do not feel bumbed, I undertand why you could though, or others in your city. But you won it fair and square, despite what happened/did not happen.

  87. Peyton M says:

Payton is going to be suspended. Williams is done in the nfl. Book it

  88. MFG says:

    Yes, I agree #90

  89. MFG says:

    Thanks, Tina!

  90. Tina says:

Glad too that you are sticking with one handle, it was kind of hard to follow at times, but pretty funny at the same time, MFG.

  91. Peyton M says:

Payton should be banned too. Jury is out as to whether he will be.

  92. lisab says:

NFL admitted after the game that they should have overturned the Saint’s interception of Favre late in the NFC Champsionship game because of an illegal hit to Favre’s knee in an attempt to cause an “Unhappy triad” injury to Favre.

  94. Tina says:

Stepping back, the deficit is still showing modest improvement this year.

For the first five months of the fiscal year, the government incurred a budget deficit of $580.8 billion, $60 billion less than the deficit recorded during the same period last year.

The White House last month forecast a deficit of $1.33 trillion this fiscal year than ends Sept. 30, compared with $1.29 trillion last year.

Seems like the first paragraph is in conflict with the last paragraph.

  95. Peyton M says:

I’m still pissed that daddy is perceived as a loser and namath and griese are in the hall. Like daddy wouldn’t have won in miami

  96. Tina says:

  97. MFG says:

Yeah Acroso but I watched the game film a couple of nights ago and a Viking pile drove Brees into the ground classical illegal hit right in front of the ref and it wasn’t called in a key fourth quarter possession in that NFC Title game

  98. MFG says:
