  7. janz says:

This should be the rallying cry of the Republican party, replacing all the divisiveness that is now taking place!

In 2008, Obama sold hope and change in commercials that were everywhere. This year, thanks to Citizens United, there will be parity in campaign war chests, empowering citizens to unite against the abomination that is this president.

Spike Lee was right — America will be defined as pre-Barack and post-Barack — but not in the way he intended. We are on the cusp of history, the dawn of a new age, the epoch of post-Barack prosperity, post-progressivism and post-“post-Americanism.”

We must chase this president from office before he destroys us all — and it is not enough to beat him in November. He must be driven from any position of influence. He must be relegated to unimportance and irrelevance. Can there be a more apt fate for a narcissistic tyrant?

  9. hugh says:

The problem in Florida is that we are ripe to get good Jewish support. Or let me say we were. Unfortunately, Rick Santorum represents all non-orthodox Jews dislike about republicans. They are dismayed, and I know this from talking with my Jewish friends that republican can be seriously supporting Santorum. So, what would be a very natural group to vote for Romney is now swinging back to Obama as a repudiation of our party. I still think based on what I see in Broward that Romney wins by more than Bush did in 2004.

  10. jan says:

Yeah the wreck of Santorum is unfortunately getting onto Romney. His radical and anti women agenda has become a negative for the Republican Party and other candidates. Plus the likes of Rush and these fundamentalist GOP legislatures in the states that jump at any and every opportunity to degrade women.

  11. Barrett says:

#11 – I’ve always felt confident that Romney would win Florida for many reasons, one of which you just stated

How Mitt Romney can make over his campaign

In short hand Maggie Haberman gives these pointers:

    1. Stop talking delegate math
    2. Stop campaigning without a message
    3. Stop with the predictions of “winning states”
    4. Stop acting like a rich guy
    5. Stop making the campaign about himself

I’m don’t agree with her entire analysis. However, I do think that Romney would do well sticking to economic issues, especially job creation. He should also be less thin-skinned and irritable during tedious interviews, as difficult as that might be for anyone.

  13. Bitterlaw says:

I agree with hugh. My wife’s family might vote for Romney. They will run to the polls to vote against Santorum.

  14. janz says:

Romney also has ties with Bibi, knowing him back in the days of working for a Boston firm. This earlier relationship with the current leader of Israel is a big positive, IMO, in attracting the jewish vote to him.

  21. todd says:

Given the incredible negativity in the GOP race, I don’t find this surprising at all. Independents are not turning away from any specific candidate so much as they are turning away from the Republican party. Santorum is the exact worst candidate to win independents, and Romney is being forced out of his winning economic message by ideological debates over who is “more conservative.”

  22. SUSYQUE says:

For those who missed this in the last thread:

Romney Set to Dominate Race Through April

It’s fair to ask how Romney’s position can be so strong after finishing third in the two major primaries held on Tuesday, Alabama and Mississippi. The most important thing anyone can do on any primary night is to remember the calendar — not the primary schedule but the general election date. The two Deep South primaries appear critical, yet they will be long forgotten by Labor Day, much less Nov. 6. Barring a massive, difficult to fathom shift in this contest, Mitt Romney has a better than 80% chance to be the GOP nominee. No amount of wild tapping on CNN’s magic wall will alter those odds.

  23. Brandon says:

I don’t think anyone is stupid enough to argue that Santorum or Gingrich can get to the # of delegates needed to be the nominee. Their goal is to prevent Romney from getting to the number.

  24. Brandon says:

Mario Williams to the Bills. Done deal.

  25. Phil says:

So long, Mario. It was good while it lasted.

  26. MFG says:

Then if you prevent him, then what?

    And why?

    Mitt 1000
    FatToad 350
    Pope Ricky 650
    Grandpa 100
    Undecided 100

One of the people with 400-500 less delegates who will have lost the popular vote by 3 million becomes the nominee…???

  27. MFG says:

    Add gnashes his teeth…

  28. Brandon says:

Then they hope for a miracle on the second ballot when the delegates then become unbound.

  29. MFG says:

And if they succeed, then what?

A guy who has lost 30 primaries and lost the primary popular vote by 3 million is going to be legitimate?

And Mitt’s supporters are going to support this mentally illness religious fanatic?

  30. Brandon says:

Mario Williams on Thursday agreed to a six-year deal with the Buffalo Bills that’s potentially worth $100 million and includes $50 million guaranteed, a league source told ESPN NFL Insider Adam Schefter.

It’s the richest deal for a defensive player in NFL history.

  31. Brandon says:

Then JEB comes in riding on his horse into the Convention center!

  32. MFG says:

    Why vote?

Let’s just set up some kind of fuqqing monarchy then if the votes don’t count

  33. MFG says:

Wow, no wonder he signed with them

  34. Bitterlaw says:

Brandon – We should just cancel the election. Add already laid out the case for why Obama will never leave office. It makes so much sense. I was going to tell him last night that I finally agree with him but he ran off like a scared little girl the minute he was challenged. I guess he will be back in another month to try again.

  39. Dogs Against Romney says:

    Rick cares about us.

In one example, in 2001 then Sen. Santorum (R-PA) introduced S. 1478, the Puppy Protection Act of 2001, with Sen. Dick Durbin (D-IL). This act intended to improve conditions for dogs at “puppy mills” by addressing socialization and breeding issues, and by creating a “three strikes and you’re out” system for violators of the Animal Welfare Act.

“The bill will require commercial breeders to provide socialization for dogs at their facilities,” Santorum said at the time.

I hope this gets a lot of play. It’s clear this man does not believe in personal freedom.

  45. Bitterlaw says:

    Regular porn? Leave people alone.
Child porn? Give those who watch it and those who make it a choice – do they want the bullet in the back of their head or between the eyes.

  46. F9gopguyIN says:

Bitter I agree with you on the child porn and for that matter any porn between human and beast *i think i just vomited a little*. Regular porn between to adults of age should be left as is. Whether you agree with it or not it is a personal decision and that person has only one maybe two people to answer too. A spouse and God. Again, not the president.

  47. F9gopguyIN says:

*between two adults* fingers got moving too fast.

  48. jan says:

With regard to Rick Santorum and the things he has said recently he’s not just opposed to child porn but all porn in general.

  49. Apologetic California says:

Obama gallup ratings collapses, 45 %approve, 49% are Americans.

  50. Bitterlaw says:

If Santorum doesn’t like it, he shouldn’t watch it. People can do what they want. I have no interest in watching Game Change but I don’t care if other people watch it. You couldn’t pay me to watch soccer or NASCAR but other people love it. Let people live their lives.

  51. MFG says:

My favorite definition of porn is “…things that will never ever happen to you.”

  52. Bitterlaw says:

This is the perfect example of why Santorum would be a disaster as the nominee. His supporters claim that he spends alot of time focused on the economy and employment issues but the media only covers the social issues. Well, who took over his microphone when he said he wanted to ban porn? Apparently, he said it himself.

  53. MFG says:

Why do I think he is a secret crossdresser?

    There’s something about that guy…

  54. jan says:

Santorum is really the interfering busy body SNL church lady character. It’s such a turn off and is scary that so many within the GOP buy into it.

  55. Bitterlaw says:

MFG – you are correct. When I went to the E.R. a few months ago, the nurse was a guy and the rectal exam was no fun. That scenario seems to work out differently in the movies.

  56. F9gopguyIN says:

Exactly this election will NOT be about the economy if Sanctimonium is nominated. It will be drilled day and night on TV, the radio, newspapers, magazines, etc…that Ricky will run your individual sex life from the oval office. It will be Goldwater v. Johnson all over again. Atleast Goldwater was a good man.

  57. HairyPalms says:

52.*between two adults* fingers got moving too fast.

    -While writing about porn????

  58. MFG says:

And even when someone is hot, I’m married and not getting any younger and why would she be interested anyway?

My last eye exam the doctor was super hot, I mean she must have just been out of school, maybe 25 or 26, but at this stage it’s of course look don’t touch

  62. Bitterlaw says:

After 2 games – still in First!*

*Which means I will finish last.

  63. Robbie says:

Mitt trailing in Florida is very disappointing, but not surprising. This confirms the polling showing Obama leading nationally. If Mitt really ever led a national poll, he would have a lead in Florida.

Numbers like these continue to show the difficulties Republicans face in the electoral college. In order to win, Mitt must win Florida and at least six other states McCain didn’t win in 2008. Right now, only Indiana seems to be confidently in the Republican column.

Whoever is the nominee will essentially have to pull an inside straight to win if there is no major intervening event.

  64. SUSYQUE says:

I think we need to stop saying Independents will turn away from the GOP. I do not believe that will happen. Few people in this country want ooo to have another term because they are feeling the disaster of his failed policies. Once we get our
nominee, we go from there. The party of bribes, cheating, adoration of ooo are the incredibly foolish Dems. How could they possibly think ooo is an authentic trustful president or even likeable. He’s a fraud of the first degree.

  65. Robbie says:

26.I don’t think anyone is stupid enough to argue that Santorum or Gingrich can get to the # of delegates needed to be the nominee. Their goal is to prevent Romney from getting to the number.

    Comment by Brandon — March 15, 2012 @ 1:23 pm

This is exactly correct and it’s been the only option either has had since Michigan.

The possibility increases every day, but Romney still has the edge by about 70-30.

This is the kind of crap that really hurts Romney.

  68. F9gopguyIN says:

    college basketball is so boring

  75. Bitterlaw says:

Sure, Corey. The pro game with millionaires trading baskets and rarely playing defense is riveting. Then again, football and baseball are my 2 favorite sports so I’m not a huge basketball fan.

  76. Corey says:

If you like defense, you should watch the Chicago Bulls.

They beat Miami last night, without Derrick Rose after Add said they couldn’t.

  77. Brandon says:

I haven’t seen a college BBall game this year before today. These are the only two days I watch during the year because most of the time my bracket is busted on Friday so there’s no point in watching after that.

  78. Corey says:

So, Rod Blagojevich is now officially behind bars.

This morning, I watched as all Chicago news stations covered his ride to the airport. Once inside, they showed him posing for photos and signing autographs for anyone he could find.

  79. EML says:

I agree, college basketball is way more exciting than pro. NBA teams all play the same. Walk down the court, then 3 options: pick and roll, toss the ball into the post, or drive to the basket (with 3-4 steps) and most of the time, we get s foul. What a snoozefest. College basketball is way more fun to watch.

  80. NYCmike says:

“82.If you like defense, you should watch the Chicago Bulls.

They beat Miami last night, without Derrick Rose after Add said they couldn’t”

Isn’t ADD the same guy who blames the WR’s and the coach for Cutlet being a loose cannon, a wimp, and not as good as ELI(te) Manning.

  81. Corey says:

Cutler is not a loose cannon or a wimp and has needed better coaches and Wide Receivers.

He should have that this year.

  82. Brandon says:

But but he’s an Obama knee-padder!

  83. Bitterlaw says:

NYC – Add believes that Cutler is an elite QB and Eli Manning is not as good as Cutler.

  84. Corey says:

He isn’t the slightest bit political.

    Come back JT!

Nobody is here for me to discuss the upcoming IL down ballot primary races with.

  85. Corey says:

Cutler is talented enough to be elite. I am not a stats junkie, so it doesn’t really matter who is better between Eli and Cutler. Eli has had a whole lot more to work with, but he has also won the big one a couple times.

  86. Bitterlaw says:

Corey – I wonder what will happen if Cutler has a bad year with an upgrade at receiver. Add may literally explode.

  87. Brandon says:

And why should anyone care even if he is political?

  88. Corey says:

    Comment by MFG — March 15, 2012 @ 3:10 pm

Yes, I’m a troll, but it’s ok for you to take cheap personal shots at Santorum’s religion. I just love the lengths Romney supporters will go to.

  93. Robbie says:

How do you figure Robbie? The only person hurting Ricky is Ricky. He has zero business saying the things he says and wanting to do the things he wants to do. It’s called liberty…you know that thing this country was founded on.

    Comment by F9gopguyIN — March 15, 2012 @ 3:13 pm

What a load of crap. As if Romney is some sort of liberty loving guy? He loves mandates. He said so himself.

I never said Santorum wasn’t hurting himself either. In fact, he’s the reason he didn’t win MI. Had he kept his mouth shut, he would have won the state.

  94. Corey says:

Nobody wants to talk about the Cook County Board of Review Republican Primary race?

It’s one that we are pushing for here on behalf of the incumbent the next few days and it’s been about as nasty as it gets in politics.

My hunch though is that we will win in a landslide.

  95. jan says:

Santorum has made his religion a campaign issue, so it is open for others to talk about it and criticize it. Since he seems bent upon imposing it on the entire country Robbie. That’s why you and other Democrats are rooting for him

  96. Corey says:

Robbie, by what logic are you equating those who want to be free-riders in the health care system at the expense of others to the issue of banning pornography?

  97. SUSYQUE says:

Let’s stop calling Sentorum names. Surely no one can call porn a good thing. It is addictive and a powerful evil. It takes over people minds and deceives them into thinking there is nothing wrong with it. I don’t think you want you little girls and boys looking at it. If it is not good for them, it is not good for you. You don’t gain anything from it…except shame and depravity. It does not satisfy it creates more desire for that which is wrong…then the person gets more and more depraved in the kind of sex he wants and needs to turn him/her on. It is a kind of dope.
What a person does is their own business, but we shouldn’t call it good when it is truly evil.

  98. Corey says:

Now, not that I am an expert on this topic, but that’s painting with a bit broad of a brush Susy.

  99. Corey says:

And generally speaking there are a lot of things that are not good for little kids, that are either not harmful or even “good” for adults.

  100. Robbie says:

No one here wants to deal with the realities of this race. Romney is in a weak position for the general election. He trails a president who is saddled by high unemployment and a sluggish economy by 5-6 points.

A competent, strong candidate ought o be leading Obama nationally and performing very well in the swing states. Yet, Romney is lagging in both. The Ras numbers in FL are more proof of that.

Compared to Santorum, Romney is obviously preferable, but the talk I read on this site is much like what I read four years ago about how good McCain was doing. Then, everyone said Hispanics and Jews won’t vote for Obama so McCain will win. Hah!

  101. Brandon says:

Porn is not “evil.” Jesus Christ.

  102. Robbie says:

Robbie, by what logic are you equating those who want to be free-riders in the health care system at the expense of others to the issue of banning pornography?

    Comment by Corey — March 15, 2012 @ 4:00 pm

I have no idea about what you are talking.

  103. Corey says:

Robbie, most of the national polls I am seeing show Romney tied or a bit ahead of Obama.

There is a long way to go until the election obviously, btu he is in better shape now than most recent Presidential winners have been, especially those who ran against incumbents.

Of course, this does not fit your narrative so you will disregard.

  104. jan says:

Santorum is a zealot and he confirms that each and every day. He and those like him give conservatism a bad name and make it unattractive to young people, women and minorities.

  105. Corey says:

What are you talking about with Romney and “mandates” though that is so bad from your perspective that you brought it into a conversation about what Santorum would maybe want to do in regards to porn.

  106. F9gopguyIN says:

No one’s saying it’s good Susy it’s just the point that it’s something that is personal that Ricky has no business (or anyone else for that matter) should be getting involved with, of course if it’s children then that’s different. These same people that support this kind of intrustion are also the same people that are up in arms about health care mandates and would gnash at the teeth if a muslim would start imposing these things through government fiat. It’s just hypocritical. In the end, the person who views porn has one person to deal with when it’s all said and done, God. Not the president and not anyone else.

  107. Robbie says:

Santorum has made his religion a campaign issue, so it is open for others to talk about it and criticize it. Since he seems bent upon imposing it on the entire country Robbie. That’s why you and other Democrats are rooting for him

    Comment by jan — March 15, 2012 @ 3:59 pm

So it’s ok to mock him by calling him Pope Ricky? Great, then you won’t have a problem with people making fun of Mormons since Mitt was a bishop in the church.

Stop taking these pathetic religious cheap shots at the guy.

  108. Brandon says:

Guard Steve Hutchinson signs with Tennessee. More bait for Peyton…

  109. Corey says:

Again, not that I am an expert on this, but one could certainly argue that some forms or aspects of pornography have a very positive economic and/or societal benefit.

  110. F9gopguyIN says:

    when the shoe fits robbie…

  111. Brandon says:

Wait, so God is going to judge me for watching porn? Is that a litmus test for getting into heaven?

  112. jan says:

A competent, strong candidate is not running in this primary. Romney is clearly the best we got yet you still refuse to support him although you claim that is what you want.

We all know your game Robbie, you fool nobody here. You want Obama re-elected but your to dishonest to admit it/

  113. Corey says:

    This filter mystifies me.

  114. F9gopguyIN says:

Brandon, probably lol. I’m just saying that as a hypothetical that in the end it’s all that matters. You and whatever you believe in whether it’s God or allah or the great spaghetti monster in the sky.

  115. Robbie says:

Here are the last 8 national polls. Five have Obama ahead with two showing double digit leads. On shows the race tied. Two show Romney narrow leads. That’s hardly the way you described it. Even the CBS poll showing Obama’s approval at 41% still has Obama winning by 3%.

    FOX News 46 42 Obama +4
    Rasmussen Tracking 45 47 Romney +2
    Reuters/Ipsos 52 41 Obama +11
    Bloomberg 47 47 Tie
    Pew Research 54 42 Obama +12
    CBS News/NY Times 47 44 Obama +3
    ABC News/Wash Post 47 49 Romney +2
    IBD/CSM/TIPP 46 41 Obama +5

  116. SUSYQUE says:

Corey…one can become a very selfish and self centered person when he/she indulges in porn. It has destroyed many marriages. A good example of its distructive power to an individual is T. Wood who lost his power of concentration when he got into the most base kind of sexual activity. He man never get it back, but will have to fight the urge to step back into that lifestyle.

  117. Corey says:

    3 percent is nothing.

We are 236 days away from the election.

If Romney is within single digits 100 days out, he will be in excellent shape.

Matters such as “right track/wrong track” are still very bad for the incumbent.

The fact that an incumbent President or incumbent party for that matter (remember McCain leading at this stage four years ago when the Democrats were still slugging it out) is absolutely nothing earth shattering.

The election is going to be close, as it always was going to be, but Romney is doing far better than anybody else in the GOP (including those who did not run) could ever hope to be doing in mid-March.

  118. Robbie says:

A competent, strong candidate is not running in this primary. Romney is clearly the best we got yet you still refuse to support him although you claim that is what you want.

We all know your game Robbie, you fool nobody here. You want Obama re-elected but your to dishonest to admit it/

    Comment by jan — March 15, 2012 @ 4:10 pm

Sweetheart, and I mean that in a nasty way, you don’t know my game at all. I want the Republican to win in the Fall, but I’m tired of the Rombots portraying Romney to be a better candidate than he really is. You do yourself no good by resorting the troll line. Next you’ll be like Jason hoping I commit suicide.

  121. MFG says:

  122. Corey says:

Susy, you are only looking at this from one perspective.

I am sure it has destroyed some marraiges. It has also saved or helped many others.

People can be “selfish” in regards to a whole bunch of things, but in something like that, it is certainly not the role of the government to be involved in telling them how to live their life.

And I don’t know how porn was to blame for Tiger. He was just a cheater. If he only watched the porn, he might still be married.

  123. bio mom says:

Sweetheart!?! No wonder you favor Santorum.

  126. Corey says:

But Jan can be a guys name too.

  127. MFG says:

I doubt very much porn was a factor in Woods being a horndog

He’s rich and nowadays many women will absolutely throw themselves at a guy with that kind of money and fame

  128. MFG says:

Corey why did the Dolphins trade Marshall to the Cutlerettes?

That trade just seems so bizarre…

  129. F9gopguyIN says:

I’ll also admit right here that i do personally view a lot of it. I’m single and young, need an outlet and it’s a heck of a lot safer than some random hook up. In the end it’s my decision and I’m the sole person that has to answer for it. I need not answer to no politician over it. Least of all to rick.

  130. Corey says:

So, you are saying the Bears got the better end of the deal?

Probably. Marshall really wanted to play with Jay Cutler again.

  131. Corey says:

    Don’t get addicted!

  132. Brandon says:

He hasn’t been returning my calls, SUSY.

  133. MFG says:

Porn may have bad consequences, it may have some good consequences

  134. MFG says:

Well, I mean its so obviously bad for the Dolphins why did they do it?

  135. Robbie says:

  136. SUSYQUE says:

    Comment by jan — March 15, 2012 @ 4:20 pm

Good. The you got the point. It’s no better for me to make a sexist comment than it is for you to attack Santorum’s religion.

  140. MFG says:

Well, Susy obviously children should not see porn

Porn does have two unequivocally good uses though that I know of: fertility doctors give patients porn to produce samples for in vitro fertilization and there are productive uses of porn in helping husbands and wives overcome sexual dysfunction

  141. Emerica says:

Paul and Santorum to take all the Iowa delegates.

    Hopefully Romney gets none.

  142. Corey says:

I don’t think anybody is suggesting that porn should be legally made with or marketed to underage people.

Child pornography should absolutely be prosecuted to the fullest extent of the law.

It’s also a fact that people under 18 are going to see things, on tv or in books or magazines or on the internet that they probably shouldn’t, but that’s not exactly going to be a new societal problem or one that the government should be focused on. Ultimately, it comes down to the parents.

  143. SUSYQUE says:

#136…Corey…I don’t think you can tell by names who is male/female…unless that choose to tell you so. Is the other cory a woman?

  144. MFG says:

    A thug?

Maybe he can sign with the Saints

  145. Robbie says:

And it’s also no better for you to call me a troll simply because I point out some significant flaws in Romney’s chances than it is for me to call you sweetheart.

  146. Corey says:

If some people needed to see a fertility doctor, they might request copies of polls showing Obama slightly ahead of Romney.

  147. MFG says:

    Christ Acroso give it up

  148. Corey says:

    153. No, he’s just a Canadian leftist, so it comes across that way.

  149. Emerica says:

  151. NYCmike says:

-This is like a replay of Moonlighting.

  152. Corey says:

    160. Tell Santorum that the Marquette team has looked a lot more porn and done a lot more in the regards to sinful things than the BYU kids could ever dream of or would be able to get away with!

  153. MFG says:

    Of course

But none of it was caused by porn

Why couldn’t Woods be discrete or stay single?

  154. Wow? People don’t understand that this is awful news for Obama. One poll with him barely ahead of even Santorum in Florida. Unless the Republicans don’t bother campagin in Florida, they will win this state.

Romney DOES have huge Electorial College advantages. It is going to be virtually impossible for Obama to win in North Carolina, Virginia, Nevada, and Colorado either. I predict in October, the Obama campaign will pull money from Florida, Nevada, and NC in the hopes of holding Virginia and other states below.

I am also confident Romney will win Iowa, New Hampshire, New Mexico, and Pennsylvania.

After that, I hope the midwest will vote for economic hope so Romney wins in Michigan, Wisconsin, and Minnesota. If these dominos start to fall, then the Northeast might come home.

The only truly safe states/district for this socialist failure are D.C., Rhode Island, Vermont, New York, Illinois, Hawaii, and California. This gives him at least 114 electorial votes.

  155. DaveyJ says:

150 — “good uses” for porn! Now I’ve heard everything. Sort of like good uses for heroin.

  156. MFG says:

Well, Ray, we’re measuring in the middle of a vicious intra party fight

If the retards are dispatched quickly enough I expect Romney to move out to a small but durable lead

  160. SUSYQUE says:

  166. SUSYQUE says:

  167. #115, Emerica, that is no surprise. I have said for months that Ron Paul supporters ran as Romney delegates in the Iowa Caucus.

I expect Gingrich to be excited about Romney losing delegates, but I hope Santorum is not stupid enough to follow his example. The backlash will be worse than when he asked Democrats to come out in Michigan to hurt another Republican.

  168. F9gopguyIN says:

people are stimulated in different ways though too susy. some need the visual, some need touch, others only need their imagination

  169. EML says:

164 – it really is pretty amazing that people don’t know how to read polls. The most important number to look at “should Obama be re-elected”.

If this isn’t available, then the most important thing to look at in head to head matchups is Obama’s number. Numbers in the 40s are terrible for an incumbent president.

We have to remember that there are a number of Santorum and Gingrich supporters who will claim they won’t vote for Romney in November, but once Romney becomes the nominee, they will change and go for Romney (Romney supporters by and large say they will support whoever the nominee is).

  170. SUSYQUE says:

#159…Hmmmm…I am glad we don’t know.

  171. Apologetic California says:

Ugh, it’s bad enough that the media landscape was dominated by Obama worshipping libtards in 2008, now they can add Yahoo News to the mix.

  172. Corey says:

  173. SUSYQUE says:

  174. Brandon says:

Here comes Harvard in my upset special of the day.

  175. SUSYQUE says:

Think about this….it is really bad. For the rest of our lives we have to endure ooo and wife in the news, etc. I am already muting my remote (clicker) when I see certain people on TV…pretty soon I might have to put it on mute and call it silent film.

  176. MFG says:

    Wow, the Yankees!

Must be fantastic to have played for the Yankees in your life

  177. SUSYQUE says:

    Our motto: ANYONE BUT OOO!

  178. SUSYQUE says:

#186…He was hurt before he was called up. Sad story.

  179. Here in Oregon, there was not much of a chance for a national debate. The vote by mail here means most votes are in a week b4 the May 15th, when N.C., Indiana, and West Virginia will all be more important and too far of a flight in the middle of campaigning there.

The nice part will be how quickly the votes come in after the “polls” close at 11pm EDT on May 15th. It will be the only state in the news that night. However, it might only be seen as a preview of California (which will finally settle the nomination since it’s a winner take all).

  180. DaveyJ says:

167 — Porn is not NEEDED in fertility clinics, it’s only used to “speed up” the process. Sorry, there are no “good” uses for something that is, by definition, evil.

It’s like saying, “There are good uses for rape”. But I’m not saying porn should be banned. It should be shamed. Real men don’t use porn, only wimps use it.

From my reading of Santorum’s website, he doesn’t want to ban porn. He wants prosecute “obscenity”. An example of obscenity is when some guy sends in nude or sex videos of his former girlfriend, without her permission. Then those videos are posted online for all the world to see. Any website who posts such videos should be shut down. It is against the law to post obscene images of a person without that person’s written permission.

  181. Brandon says:

“something that is, by definition, evil.”

Which dictionary has that definition of porn?

  182. Emerica says:

Santorum wants revenge against the gays basically.

  183. F9gopguyIN says:

And Daveyj a politican has never spoken out of both sides of their mouths have they? How many things had obama said during the campaign that he re-negged on once elected. All politicans lie, because all politicians are politicians.

  184. F9gopguyIN says:

Bubu porn happens in all sexualities. Not just gay.

  185. MFG says:

Actually it is important in fertility clinics the size of the sample is important and porn is used for that

  186. Annie says:

151 – I seriously doubt that Romney’s delegates would get sucked-up by Santorum, because (1) Romney actually won the Iowa caucus, but 8 precincts that Romney won were not counted; (2) Ron Paul would give his delegates to Romney before Santorum or Gingrich – both of whom he rightly despises.

Now, to repeat my earlier diatribe for Emerica and his ilk:

Mitt Romney is the only fiscal conservative in the GOP race. Rick Santorum simply does not have the experience in fiscal policy or management that is needed to turn our economy around. As a former junior senator, Santorum has relatively the same experience that Obama had four years ago. As a person who favored considerable earmark spending, supported unions, and was labeled “one of the most corrupt Senators” for his use of Federal money for personal gains, Santorum has a background that will be a disadvantage in a general election. As an “in-your-face” social conservative, who has made many questionable remarks concerning privacy issues and separation of church and state, Santorum has alienated a wide swath of the people who will vote in November. Like Newt Gingrich, Santorum has never held an executive position, been responsible for managing a state or national budget, been the commander-in-chief of a state National Guard – Mitt Romney is the only GOP candidate has that experience in his resume. Newt Gingrich has never held a statewide elected office, and was well-known for his disorganization and lack of keen management skills while serving as Speaker. The balancing of the budget that Gingrich takes credit for was largely the work of John Kasich. As a person who has run-up bills at Tiffany’s, took large sums of money from Freddie Mac, and had difficulties in his personal life, Gingrich has too much baggage for hope of success in a general election. Moreover, Gingrich has shown himself to be a vindictive personality. As a lawyer, MBA, successful businessman and former governor, only Mitt Romney has a resume that can compete with a sitting president. It is time for the Republicans to stop fighting and prepare for the campaign to defeat Obama in November. The continuing vitriol between GOP factions is becoming detrimental to the party, not just in the presidential race, but for candidates down the ticket.

  187. MFG says:

And people say I’m crazy when I tell them certain people want a theocracy…

  188. Corey says:

Fertililty clinics aside, there are plenty of positive benefits, economically and sociologically from “adult entertainment.”

  189. MFG says:

    Sociologically? How so?

  190. Corey says:

For one thing, it would be a pretty severe blow to the economy and several thousand jobs lost if somehow all forms of pornography were to go away.

And then of course, where is the line drawn on what is “obscene” and what is not. It’s murky when the government has to try to decide.

  191. Corey says:

I am sure that it has helped families (married couples or what have you) stay together or avoid getting into situations which would be damaging to the family unit.

The same could be said for an individual such as what F9gopguyIN said about his ….whatever.

  192. MFG says:

Some therapists use it with married couples

  193. Corey says:

We know if Bitterlaw had his way, Rex Ryan and his foot fetish would be thrown in prison.

  194. MFG says:

This is the year for the Cubs, Corey?

  195. DaveyJ says:

200.For one thing, it would be a pretty severe blow to the economy and several thousand jobs lost if somehow all forms of pornography were to go away.

I currently have girl who has been living in my home (my wife brought her home, as she was homeless) who is now in the “adult entertainment” industry. Let me tell you, I WISH she would lose her job! Don’t tell me there’s any positive benefits to this industry. People are better off unemployed than working in that sick, twisted industry.

  196. Corey says:

No, this is not the year for the Cubs, but we know how to be patient.

  197. Bitterlaw says:

Wait, so God is going to judge me for watching porn? Is that a litmus test for getting into heaven?

    Comment by Brandon

Not for you, Brandon. God knows that math teachers need help.

  198. Corey says:

    Is DaveyJ, LaZebra?

I don’t know the circumstance of this one person’s situation, but a lot of people, male and female, performer or non performer, depend on adult entertainment as their livelihood.

If we are talking specifically about female porn stars, in America, if you have a marketable skill that there is a legal demand for, you ought to be able to use it and make money off of it. That’s what capitalism is about.

Should all the accountants at Playboy Enterprises be thrown out on the streets?

  199. Bitterlaw says:

We know if Bitterlaw had his way, Rex Ryan and his foot fetish would be thrown in prison.

    Comment by Corey — March 15, 2012 @ 5:19 pm

People have the right to do what they want and I have the right to vomit.

  200. Corey says:

I’ve seen that ad MFG, but I won’t watch it again. It’s basically taunting.

I can’t believe Chicago locations and businesses agreed to take part in such a thing.

  201. MFG says:

I think the video is wonderfully aspirational frankly I was touched by it

  202. Cory says:

Your wife brought home a female porn star to live with you?

You should be a happier person.

  203. Corey says:

If the Cubs ever won the World Series, that video would pale by comparison.

  204. Apologetic California says:

Obama’s historical idiocy in today’s speech was so bad and so numerous, even liberal TPM had to call it out.

  207. DaveyJ says:

  208. MFG says:

Close but probably not a match

  209. DaveyJ says:

    219. You are sick, Brandon! Maybe someday someone you love will get sucked into this industry — then someone will just hit you with insults. Sick!

  210. Corey says:

What specific harm has come to her via the stripping job?

If she does not want to do it, she should not. That’s what freedom is about.

But she should try to find another non stripping job before just demanding unemployment though.

  211. DaveyJ says:

Too many sick people here. I’m going back to BJG. Decent folks there.

  212. Brandon says:

How am I sick? I’m so confused.

  213. DaveyJ says:

    223. Before I leave, I’ll answer your question. We have TRIED to help her find a better, respectable job, even paying for her education. But she always goes back to stripping, because there’s more money to be made there. But this young lady has no self respect and, if not for food stamps, she would be starving.

  214. Corey says:

Yes, because if you feel there are not enough dirty limericks, photos of bikini clad women, and graphic discussions of gay sex here, BJG is definitely the place for you.

  215. DaveyJ says:

    225. Comparing me to some flat-chested poster. You are sick!

  216. MFG says:

DaveyJ for what its worth I have found you can’t do a thing for people unless their desire for change is real

  217. Corey says:

She goes back to stripping because she is a capitalist. That is not a bad thing.

It’s her choice. She has to prioritize her own life. It’s certainly not the role of the government to make that choice illegal.

  218. MFG says:

Yes, BJG is often filled with soft core porn isn’t it?

Romney by tonight will have done three hits with Fox News the last two days, and reportedly had a sit-down with 60 Minutes today. In the “display comments on a separate page” mode, it messes up the comments to where the paragraphs all justify to that length and do not fit on the screen. It is really annoying.

  257. MFG says:

    Mea Culpa…

  258. Tim says:

What was I thinking, going with Long Beach State? Geez…….

  259. Dr. SoHope says:

The presidential BOTUS has interesting teams making runs/not being upsetted:

    #11 NCState
    #10 VA
    #12 VCU
    #2 OSU to FF
    #2 Missouri to FF
    #1 UNC all the way

alot of chalk but alot of love to NC, Missouri, VA, OH, and FL.

  260. Tim says:

What about Fox? Are they doing that, too?

  261. Annie says:

Tim – Although Foxnews has conservative shows and commentators, they have been rated by independent research as being the most “fair and balanced” – a balance of right and left discussion. I have seen “Republican” commentators on both MSNBC and CNN who spout-off the Democrat line, and offer no honest balance at all. hence, Foxnews has more viewers than the other cable news networks combined.

  262. MFG says:

Can you imagine how Bush would be eviscerated picking basketball games with gas prices this high?

  263. Dr. SoHope says:

I just looked up Dickie V’s bracket and we have the same FF (only half chalk):

    Florida St.

He also has the same results after the FF…kinda wierd

  264. kristen says:

Only 3.4 percent of FL voters are Jewish though they’re about 4+ percent of those who vote. Most Jews vote in the D primary, not the R primary, obviously.

This is a response to someone at the beginning of the thread that was concerned about the Jewish vote in Florida.

  265. DrJay says:

I was in TGI Friday’s yesterday and Obama was on talking about his bracket. I thought, “basketball? fix the economy, you twit.” Apparently I said it out loud… only my wife noticed.

  266. mnw says:

Papa Doc ain’t won squat & never will.

    Straw polls are us!

  267. bio mom says:

Emerica, I am sure Romney can play the same tricks with delegates. YOu think this only goes one way?

  268. bio mom says:

Thank goodness Romney is starting to make more TV appearances. I believe he would have had a stronger showing in Ala and Miss. Tuesday if he had not ceded the screen to Gingrich and Santorum on the preceeding Sunday shows.

  269. Emerica says:

    Missouri Caucus is this Saturday.

  270. bio mom says:

Emerica, How many times have we heard the same claims from the Paul campaign?? Too many to count. He always falls short. I wish he WOULD win Missouri Saturday. Better than the most likely result, Santorum winning.

  271. Robbie, I’d rather Santorum getting 1145, then see a contested convention.

You never did ask how someone can run a 10 week Presidential election against a sitting U.S. President.

Even Rush pushed a falicy that FDR won a contested convention. That convention lasted all the way to July 2nd because FDR was short of a 2/3rds total of delegate votes. He was the establishment candidate with NO chance of losing the November election.

  272. IF Ron Paul supporters take away many of the caucus delegates, the backlash will go all the way up to his son, Rand.

  273. lisab says:

ATLANTIC CITY, N.J. (CBS) — A new report shows sea levels are rapidly rising and the study predicts the Jersey Shore could be underwater in a matter of decades.

The organization “Climate Central” in Princeton, New Jersey released the ocean study Wednesday.

The group found global warming is expanding sea water and causing ice sheets to melt.

  274. Bitterlaw says:

But this young lady has no self respect and, if not for food stamps, she would be starving.

    Comment by DaveyJ — March 15, 2012 @ 5:34 pm

A stripper on food stamps? She’s either at a bad club or has real breasts.

  275. Bitterlaw says:

Obama picked a bracket? Zzzzzzzzzzz. Do we have to be as petty as the DailyKOS crowd. I wish he would spend all day watching sports and leave the rest of us alone.

  276. lisab says:

so were adam and eve nudists?

and would have santorum put them in jail?

  277. Bobby says:

Lisa…you are making a great case for why I love global warming.

  278. Wobbles says:

I guess I am for a brokered convention and a contested convention. But I thought they were not the same

  279. NYCmike says:

    was that posted already?

  280. Bitterlaw says:

I love Global Warming. I can’t wait until my house in the Philadelphia suburbs is beach front property

  281. Bitterlaw says:

If Bill Maher called my wife a c***, he would be lucky if he only needed a dentist after my response.

  282. Charleypreacher says:

Gary Ackerman announced tonight that he is not running for re-election a few hours after his expected primary opponent (Lancman) announced that he would not challenge him. This comes days after Republican would run for Senate instead of challenging Ackerman. Long Island, NY is very strange place!

  283. mnw says:

Some of the MO caucuses have already been held. Some are on Saturday– like the one where I’ll be voting for Mr. Roboto. And the St. Louis, MO caucus is one week from Saturday.

In all probability, Santorum will win the MO caucuses, just as he did the MO beauty contest a few weeks ago.

Why you take such enormous pride in “slowing Romney down,” i.e., in favor of Santorum, is something that makes sense only in bunnyland.

Apparently, you figure Santo is some sort of libertarian??? More so than Romney?

  284. mnw says:

Abortion is the holy sacrament of the liberal church. They ALL feel the same way as that woman. Most just keep quiet about it.

  293. addisonst says:

RI have heard that Media Matters has been getting their news feed directly from Obama’s White House and funneling that “news” onto their programs. This has a name: propaganda.

Annie this is nonsense. Bitter has assured us that obama is a gentleman not a fascist and he’s super smart. Your allegations of propaganda are misguided. Just ask bitter and malaprop

  294. addisonst says:

For the record I meant bitter is super smart. He must be for the rest of us are maroons.

  295. lisab says:

“If Bill Maher called my wife a c***, he would be lucky if he only needed a dentist after my response.”

what if he called her a whore?

  296. addisonst says:

    Malaprop is obama a fascist?

  297. Dr. SoHope, Are you really responding to a dog ?

    284. more like Jews make up 6 to 8% of actual voters in FL. Here is one site, there are many more with similar results. Not sure how they came up with 4% of voters. they are 3.4% of the total population of Florida of which many are elderly with no children with them.

  302. kristen says:

326 — what site? please give link.

  303. lisab says:

it is wildly beyond the pale to accuse obama of being a fascist

  306. Scott says:

    #330 & #328
Fascist TENDENCIES would be better.Obama has little regard for the Constitution since old, white men authored it!

  307. Brandon says:

The word “fascist” gets thrown around so much anymore that it’s basically lost all meaning.

  308. EML says:

While King Barack believes in many of the basic tenets of fascism – totalitarianism, dictatorship, single party state – he doesnt believe in the main emphasis of facsism which is militant nationalism. King Barack things that Europe and the UN are far superior to the US and wants us to pledge our allegiance to them instead of the good ole USA.

  309. Brandon says:

Santorum wins the Caucus in Chariton County last night.

“All of our county delegates will be bound to the popular vote for Chariton County,” said Andrea Rice, the county Republican chairwoman, who presided over the meeting and announced the results. “Four delegates will go for Rick Santorum.”

  310. Tim says:

    Really? According to who?
