King Dominates In Maine, Dems Lead House Races Too

So it has been a pretty Good Friday so far, especially with the Orioles starting their season off at 1-0. They tried hard to revert to 2011 form by almost blowing the game in the ninth but held on for a win.

Meanwhile, we have a new poll from a group called the Maine’s People Resource Center and the Maine People’s Alliance (could they not come up with a more communistic-sounding name?) for the congressional races in state of Maine and we will start with the primary races for the open US Senate seat.

Charlie Summers 28%
Bruce Poliquin 12%
Rick Bennett 7%
Debra Plowman 6%
Scott D’Amboise 4%
William Schneider 4%

Cynthia Dill 20%
Matt Dunlap 17%
Jon Hinck 6%
Benjamin Pollard 1%

But all this probably doesn’t matter too much since in the General Election, the man who will not be running in any primary holds a commanding lead in his bid to become an Independent member of the US Senate.

Angus King (I) 56%
Charlie Summers (R) 22%
Matt Dunlap (D) 12%

This poll also includes some results for the two congressional races in Maine showing Democrats should easily hold both seats.

Chellie Pingree (D-inc) 61%
Jonathan (R) 28%

Mike Michaud (D-inc) 53%
Kevin Raye (R) 37%

This poll was done March 31-April 2 among 993 registered voters.

Resentment still lingers in Pa. after Santorum’s loss

GETTYSBURG, Pa. (AP) — Rick Santorum is as unpopular inPennsylvania today as he was six years ago when home-state voters kicked him out of the Senate in a rout. That sour public perception may doom his fading chances of sticking around in the GOP presidential race, along with other hurdles that dot his path to a possible, and needed, victory in the April 24 primary.

  6. MD says:

SQ – Do you read what other people post?

  7. jason says:

Tiger just lost it. Kicked his club.

  8. MD says:

Tiger needs a drink. Seriously. You can’t lose your temper like that. I can and do but I am not playing competitive golf.

  9. jason says:

Tiger should be happy he is going to make the cut the way he is playing. The ten shot rule will save him if he drops another couple shots. He still has to play 18 which is derailing a lot of people today.

  10. jason says:

Tiger almost had a disaster happen.

  11. jason says:

Ball goes in the water he might not make the cut.

Here’s a comprehensive look at why this author thinks the Supreme Court will strike down all of Obamacare

    Sounds good to me!

  13. janz says:

One has to wonder what is driving Santorum, sometimes.

    Trash commie poll is trash.

  15. Tim V says:

    6- excellent question md.

  16. Tim says:

I gather you’re not entirely pleased with the results shown by this polling? LOL

  17. May you all have a Glorious weekend with your loved ones.

  18. SusyQue says:

    #6…MD…yes, I do. I realize sometimes I post
something before I have scrolled the latest posts.
However, I usuallly post the title, an excerpt and a URL so they don’t have to hunt for the article. Why do you as MD?

  19. janz says:

This is a good Ed Morrissey article articulating how Obama’s big spending vision gives Romney an edge

One, then, has to wonder why Obama’s latest Gallup tracking is at 50%.

  20. Tim V says:

    Why do you as MD?

    what does that mean ?

  21. Tim V says:

maybe it is why do you ASK.

  22. GF says:

My only beef with the polling is that the numbers are so drastically different from Tommy J’s just a cople of weeks ago. However, with the top Dems out of the race, perhaps the bulk (or at least a large percentage) of the state’s Dem voters are coalescing behind King. By registration numbers, the Rep is getting about 2/3 to 3/4 of his base vote, but the Dem is just managing 1/3 or so. I’m making the easy assumption that the overwhelming proportion of Independent go to King, of course. Still, this poll is a near replay of the 1998 Governor’s race where King netted almost 60%, and Congressman Longley (R) took about 20, with the official Dem candidate in the low teens.

  23. SusyQue says:

    #21…yes, Why do you ask!

  24. SusyQue says:

#19…janz…Thanks for the URL. I print out the articles so I can relax and read them. Yours are always so informative….I love it!

  25. janz says:

States, like people, seem to germinate big egos. Take Texas, for example, and how it now has an effort underway to turn Texas into a winner take all state in order to keep the primary process going to the convention.

    Crazy, simply crazy.

  26. Tim V says:

ssq, md’s post 3 and your 5 have the same url, that is why he asked

  27. janz says:

#24 glad you like them, susy.

  28. MD says:

SQ – I just noticed a trend where you post links that have already been posted. In 200+ thread, I can see how that would happen. However, you often post a link 5 or 10 minutes after it was posted.

  29. DrJay says:

If Texas changes the rules, they should be penalized half their delegates just like Florida, Michigan, et al.

  30. DrJay says:

Otherwise, we want our 49 delegates back.

  31. SusyQue says:

#28…I will try not to do that MD. I hunt for timely articles, and when I find one it’s like finding a treasure chest of information. If my post has a bit more information, I might post it.
However, I will take your advice. Thanks!

  32. Tim says:

It’s probably fairly accurate, GF. Gov. King is well known and liked, up there. As you saw, when he entered this race, all of the top tier Dems melted away. So, he should pull most of the Dem vote, with the Dem nominee finishing a distant 3rd.

  33. janz says:

I agree DrJay about the penalty, if Texas wants to throw a monkey wrench into the primary process at this late date to shake things up and “get noticed.”

What was that about the GOP having suicidal tendancies?

I wonder if the meeting with conservatives that Santorum was in a few days back had anything to do with this latest Texas tactic?

  34. jason says:

King is a flaming liberal. The only chance is for people to split the vote between two democrats. King is not an independent, never was.

  35. jason says:

” Gov. King is well known and liked, up there. ”

Tim likes him, I rest my case…. 8)

  36. SusyQue says:

#26…Tim V…thanks for looking out for me. You are really a very kind and helpful person. I appreciate that!

  37. Tim V says:

rules should never be changed in the middle of the ballgame, that is cheating

  38. jason says:

The reason King will pull most of the Democratic vote is because he IS a Democrat.

  39. jason says:

“Tim V…thanks for looking out for me. You are really a very kind and helpful person”

    Pardon me while I barf…..

  40. Tim says:

No, I really don’t have a strong opinion on him either way, jason. I just said that I think this poll is accurate, and why.

If I lived there, I’d vote for the Democratic nominee, unless they were some kind of nutcase, or something………

  41. Tim says:

And, I do agree with you on one thing, jason. He will highly likely be in the Dem Caucus.

  42. jason says:

I think the poll is accurate too. My point is that King is just another run of the mill Marxist, about as independent as Bernie Sanders.

  43. DrJay says:

janz, it is so ridiculous to change the rules of a contest after it has already begun… We’re down 35-7 with one drive left, so now we’ll make touchdowns worth 30 points.

This is only slightly less disgusting than party switchers, who fall below pond scum on the scum scale… Tim will back me up on that… right Tim? How do feel about party switchers?

  44. jason says:

I don’t think Santorum has a lock in Texas anyway.

  45. janz says:

Ok, now this is really a funny story, having nothing to do with politics. It’s all about an angry ex-girlfriend who almost rips off her ex man’s scrotum, after storming into his apartment as he is innocently sitting at his computer. I wonder if he was posting on HHR?

The hilarious part is the hospital the ‘victim’ was taken for medical treatment:

As if the story isn’t already good enough, the victim, who has not been identified, was taken to BALL MEMORIAL HOSPITAL. As far as we know, the hospital is not only for scrotum-specific injuries.

    Oh, the irony!

  46. GF says:

jason, take Tim at his word; he did vote for for every Republican who ran against Larry MacDonald. 🙂

Texas needs to get slapped down. That, or Florida gets its full slate back and stays WTA. Sancto can win TX and still net only a +55 delegate haul out of the deal at best. Romney will still win NY and CA easily, and may just end up taking PA to boot.

  47. jason says:

We have a Senate candidate for Bunu

“Rep. Chris Murphy (D-Conn.) was called a “whore” by a primary opponent during Thursday night’s debate for Connecticut’s open Senate seat.

Lee Whitnum, who is mounting her second bid for the Senate in Connecticut, blasted Murphy over his support for Israel, the New Haven Register reported.

“I’m dealing with a whore here who sells his soul to AIPAC, who will say anything for the job,” Whitnum said, referring to the American Israel Public Affairs Committee.”

  48. SusyQue says:

Tim V, I am sincere in what I say to you. Ignore Jason’s unkind interjections. Has your son left for his new assignment?

  49. lisab's eunuch says:

Unfortunately in my case there was no almost.

  50. DrJay says:

When do they have the poll on whether there is a media war on the GOP?

  51. Tim V says:

Except that it will make some liberal lawyers richer.

Well they wouldn’t unless they’re blinded by faith or ignorance !

Translation: I will vote for someone who gives me a handout, I want something for nothing.

  98. SusyQue says:

#95…Darth Vader…You’re too “out of this world” to understand.

  99. jason says:

Actually only those making over $250k could even begin to afford Obama. More like $500k.

  100. Darth Vader says:

Susyque, don’t underestimate the POWER of the dark side.

  104. Tim says:

    Now that, I agree with…….

  105. father mulcahey says:

” Taking from the poor , and giving to the rich ”

Uh, 50% of Americans don’t pay income tax.

You mean the money taxpayers pay should be redistributed, and if it isn’t, it’s taking from the poor.

    I understand.

    You are a moron.

Your powers are weak, old man.

  112. AntiGOP says:

That is another right wing myth, there are still income or sales taxes paid , so perhaps you should do more research than just Fox News .

  113. jason says:

” What about Bush’s two wars unpaid for, ”

Uh, Obama increased troops in Afghanistan from 40k to 100k. How did he pay for it?

“Tax cuts for Millionaires adding debt”

No, tax cuts don’t add to debt, spending does. And don’t forget millionaires pay most of the taxes. The top 1% already pay 38% of the taxes, the top 10% pay 70% and the bottom 50 pay 3%. That’s not progressive enough for you?

  114. SusyQue says:

Does anyone here agree with what #62…Apologetic California…has stated?

  115. Bitterlaw says:

Tim V. is a Jedi knight? WTF? They take anybody now?

  116. jason says:

The sales taxe is a consumption tex. So wealthy people pay a lot more sales tax than poor people.

I only need about 5% of my brain to argue with this moron. Rush needs 50% to argue with the average liberal.

  117. jason says:

” Tim V and I have the same “Daddy.”

TimV I am sorry about that.

But some genetic defects run in families and don’t appear in everybody, so I am sure you and your kids are ok.

  118. Darth Vader says:

“Tim V. is a Jedi knight? WTF? They take anybody now?”

    Since executive order 66, yes…

  119. Walt says:

    Hey look what I found:

  120. Walt says:

I announce that I am NOT related to TimV,SSQ, or anyone else here at HHR.

  121. SusyQue says:

#122…that must be from MD…he ownes it.

  122. Bitterlaw says:

I’m guessing Tim V. And SSQ are talking about being brother and sister with God as their father. Blood relative means the blood of Christ. Am I right?

  123. jason says:

    123. Are you sure? It looks like there are a lot of frisky priests doing a lot of fathering.

  124. SusyQue says:

#125..Bitter…a lawyer should never ask a question unless he knows the answer!

  125. jason says:

    125. I don’t think that is possible. Why would God deny his daughter a brain?

  126. Walt says:

I take it that Tim V and SSQ are brother and sister in a familial sense, and not a religious one.

  127. Darth Vader says:

Bitterlaw, Search your feelings, you *know* it to be true!

  128. Bitterlaw says:

Romney must be kicking ass. No Dingle. No Robbie. No Rock Rep. Sweet.

  129. Bitterlaw says:

Actually, SSQ, that’s only in court. Outside of court, grill people.

  130. jason says:

Well we have the dimwitted AntiGop troll, bleating about “tax cuts for millionaires”….

  131. jason says:

I think Bitter and I are brothers.

We live in PA and support Romney.

Since he hates wine we are obviously not twins though.

  132. SusyQue says:

Bitter…did you read that prophecy about the next Pope following Benedict who is seeking retirement?

  133. Antigop's gay lover says:

I’m sorry my boyfriend is being such a whiny bitch. His ass hasn’t been the same since he decided to become a power bottom.

  134. Curious George says:

If Susyque and TimV are brother and sister, which one is the bastard?

Not that it makes a difference of course, they are both children of the Lord.

  135. SusyQue says:

Well, it was posted yesterday, and it says that the Pope after Bene, will not be a holy man and
Rome will be destroyed. So, instead of taking your children to London, you might want to take them to Rome before that happens.

  136. SusyQue says:

#137…There are no bastards in our family…we have a Father.

  137. Tim says:

Yeah, it’s a lot different from dealing with me, isn’t it? I think that one is more your speed.

  138. Nero says:

Bitter, I can get you some really good seats for the burning of Rome.

  139. jason says:

    140. Absolutely. Compared to AntiGop you are a genius.

  140. Darth Vader says:

    “…Outside of court, grill people.”

I had that done to my stepbrother and his wife.

  141. Man in the Yellow Hat says:

“If Susyque and TimV are brother and sister, which one is the bastard?”

George!!! I’m gonna wash out your mouth with soap!

  142. jason says:

    Horse thieves?

  143. SusyQue says:

How many of the hundreds of thousands who gave up and dropped out of the labor market were women?
How many of the 8 million who lost their jobs since fall of 2008 were women and how many men?********************************
How many of the millions who have dropped out of the labor force in the last 3 years are women? How many men?

They said they were traveling from NC to GA and my concern is that with many banks and other businesses closed for Good Friday, they will have difficulty finding a place to cash their Friday pay checks from the Obammer campaign.

  147. Walt says:

    Speaking of biting and Easter–

First thing I go for on the chocolate Easter bunnies is the ears.
Any of the rest of you have a favorite part you go for first?

  148. jason says:

Eating the foot first is good luck.

Is it in bad taste to eat the tail first?

  149. DrJay says:

I don’t like chocolate bunnies. My mother had one of those cast iron molds for making a big 3-d lamb-shaped cake.

I would eat his posterior first, because, well, that was the easiest part to cut.

  150. Walt says:

And finally, I do not feel there will be good job numbers until:
    1. after the SCOTUS declares ObammerCare unconstitiutional, thereby removing a big question mark on employers who may want to increase the number of people they would like to hire.

    2. and after more business energy costs uncertainty can be removed by someone reigning in the EPA war on coal and coal fired utility plants. (probably not until after new POTUS is sworn in)

    3. and after something is done to lower gas prices and stablize them at the $3-$3.25/gal range. (could happen if a POTUS would eliminate all the various ‘designer blends” of gasoline that refiners must provide)
When #3 happens, it will drastically reduce transportation costs of all products and simultaneously make everyone’s wallets thicker with discetionary income and boost consumer spending thus creating more JOBS.

  151. Walt says:

    Suppose they made chocolate roosters…

Suppose they called the beak the “pecker”…

Would you eat the wing first?

  152. Wes-sexy says:

    Did somebody say tail?

  153. Bitterlaw says:

You have to eat the bunny’s ears first. Why is there a debate?

  154. DrJay says:

Suppose they made a chocolate cat and dachshund… which one you eat first, the….

well, you see where I’m going with this…

  155. Bitterlaw says:

    The cat.

Basically, “solicitors” going around to get people to register to vote were told by convicted felons that they had been convicted felons and could not vote. the “solicitor” then told them “don’t worry about it” register to vote anyway. Or else told them a lie and said the VA legislature changed the law and now convicted felons could vote.
Number of newly registered voters overwhelmed the system and many who should not have been allowed to vote got to vote anyway.
To hell with the law, take it to the street, make end run around laws, ends justify means…forget being a “government derived by laws”.
Tell me again about the eeeevviillll GOP. My suspicion is that this involved people like Melisss (Mole-issa) and Dustin.

Any thoughts on the major miss on yesterday’s Jobs’ Report?
Futures were way down, but I believe that when the market opens on Monday, they will reverse to positive since the chances of a FED easing have dramatically risen.Bernanke has recently been warning about a worsening employment scenario.

  168. david says:

So President Obama is at 50% per Gallup. How can a president with his record have numbers like this? He continues to fool the people via MSM. I never would have dream that he could have gotten the unemployment number down to 8.2% by now. However, if people are removed from the labor force, the number is bound to go down. Too bad the media don’t mention this. You better believe at least 3 -4 % of his approval is the MSM “protecting’ him. Herman Caine said it best last night on Sean Hannity. He said, you got 50% of the people are informed and 50% that are clueless. Well, it appears Gallup reflects this.

  169. MD says:

Scott – I called for 190k so I was surprised. The bottom line is that while the socialist is in office we at not going to have monthly gains like in the Reagan years from late 82 through 86. I was hoping that the 200k to 300k was sustainable.

However, IMO, this clown showed his true colors again with Keystone. Immediately, businesses back offer because they know that an important component of overhead, energy cost, will be much higher.

We are following the same pattern as last year. ECRI is steadfast in their prediction of a recession despite being laughed at by other “experts” just a few months ago. CMI is indicating, strongly that the consumer is pulling back.

To make matters worse, the Feds pumping of $ is resulting in massive food inflation. The msm refuses to report on this but just go to the supermarket. It is an undeniable truth. The Fed would be able to lift its foot off of he accelerator if business had confidence that their costs weren’t going to skyrocket in the future. That is not the case.

I could go on all day. Depressing.

  170. Scott says:

Drudge gives Gallup a back-handed slap in his reporting of Obama reaching a 50% approval yesterday. He calls Gallup’s 50% approval a “Miracle”!
Last Saturday,Gallup had Obama at 43% approval and 50% disapproval.Yesterday was the exact opposite during a week when Obama had a number of serious flubs.
Gallup has been more Obama-friendly during the last month, mostly on the economic data.
We shall closely monitor Gallup and see if it has decided to join the Obama cheer leading team as has most of the mainstream media.

  171. MD says:

Herman is right. Many in this country are stupid, lazy and have become takers.

  172. david says:

  173. MD says:

When people make bad calls, like Sam on Perry, why do they leave? Take your medicine and move forward.

  174. david says:

#173, Michael Savage mentioned that under this administration that food and gas prices have been removed from the variables determining inflation. Can you imagine if the two were included? Inflation would be twice the rate as it is now. If they would have done this during Carter’s and Bush’s 41 terms, they would probably been re-elected. Another thing that the MSM won’t mention.

  175. MD says:

    176 – it’s all about the goodies.

  176. Scott says:

Your frustration is palpable. It jumps off the page.
So in your humble opinion, where goes the equities’ markets next week?
As you know,I have said for months that when it comes to the stock market, good economic data is good and bad news is better because of the potential for additional Fed easing!

  177. david says:

#175, MD, arent’ you tired of working all the time like me and paying taxes while some do nothing?

  178. MD says:

My wife is a tax accountant so she is very busy. I did some food shopping yesterday and was nauseated by the prices. I do clip coupons and look for deals. I know what it is like to be poor and if I am not careful Obama will put me back there again.

  179. david says:

having blasted the MSM this morning, i do need to say that many of the MSM websites’ headlines concerning the jobs report were negative….I thought MSNBC would be praising the 8.2% bougus number, but they highligted the fact that only 120k jobs created.

  180. david says:

I am tax accountant too, working 70 plus hours a week.

  181. MD says:

Scott – we have had a big run up and were due for a correction anyway so I think the trend will be down.

If the fed keeps pumping grapes are going to cost $12 a bag soon. I am not joking.

David – my wife works part time except for these 8 weeks. She is only 70+ for the last 2 weeks of busy season. She is building he own book of business and is planning to leave the firm within a year. That is a great annuity business for the future. She also does payroll, bookkeeping and quick books.

  184. david says:

Good for her….I work a lot the first 15 weeks of the year, but have an easier schedule in the summer.

  209. MD says:

Brandon – great move by Romney. Now we can hear Santorum whine about being outspent.

  210. Pitchaboy says:

If u follow Obama numbers against Romney in RAS he consistently underperforms his approval numbers by 1 or 2 points. That is because RAS has strongly and somewhat approve. Obama has to be at 48 or above to win

  211. MD says:

    216 – 100 percent disagree.

  212. John says:

This economy would have put any other president at sub-30 approval rating.

The reason it does not is because the alternative is the Republicans.

If the economy keeps muddling through like it is now, Obama will win re-election with ~320 EVs.

  216. david says:

i agree with MD, i belive Obama wins with approval rating of 45 or above. In prior years, the magic number was 48/49, but not this year due to the “perceived” weak republican field (MSM has convinced even Republicans that the Republican field is weak) and the fact the MSM will do anything to get him re-elected.

  217. Brandon says:

It is a weak field and the only thing that convinced me of that are my two eyes.

  218. david says:

I’ve got republican friends who are not engaged like us….they keep telling me that the Republican field is weak and Obama will probably win due to that….I quiz them and ask them why they field the field is weak. They can’t give a good reason, but all refer to notion that is what they hear on TV. So, the MSM has convinced republicans to be discourage about Mitt.

  219. david says:

#223, Brandon, you have to admit that the MSM has an influence too.

  220. Brandon says:

Sure, like you said, especially for the non-engaged people. But I think if we had a better field, it would be harder for them to do that.

  221. david says:

    …they would.

  222. MD says:

John – care to bet on that? 320 ev? Yea, if your wet dream of Satorum as nominee came true.

  223. Brandon says:

If the only state that flips is Indiana, then Obama gets 319.

  224. MD says:

Santorum getting 30 percent of the vote in any venue is a complete joke. He has done lasting damage.

  225. MD says:

Brandon – I also think nc and fl will flip. Not so sure on va and oh is a problem. Also, not sold on nh yet.

  232. pitchaboy says:

There is not a chance in hell that Obama wins with 45% approval. RAS uses a LV screen and was dead on accurate the last two elections. If Obama is below 48%, he is burnt toast and I have money riding on it. To somehow think the MSM will get you 5% is wishful thinking Despite so called great few months from an economic standpoint the guy is struggling to get over forties. I understand there are Eeyores here but I will predict he will not get above RAS final approval ratings and will likely underperform it by 1 or 2%.

  233. pitchaboy says:

No amount of MSM spin on economy have worked. His recent uptick of 2 to 3 points is his base being revved up by the contraception debate and his taking on the Supremes. But that aint enough to carry you over the finish line,. And if Obamacare is struck down, it is over.

  234. pitchaboy says:

Portman was Director of the OMB in Bush’s second term. So, yes economics is a forte of his. But, he will probably be considered part of the ‘elite establishment’ by the teaparty and/or far right faction of the GOP, who is already not gung ho with Romney being the presumed nominee.

People on the left, people who rely on hand-outs, minorities — all of these people don’t care if their democratic nominee is a cabbage. They will vote simply because a D is next to their name.

However, in the GOP, it is vastly different. Everybody has their own standards, line in the sand that a person can’t cross before support is thrown their way. For instance, there are those who adamantly say that if Rubio is Romney’s VP choice, they won’t vote for Romney, because they don’t consider Rubio qualifying for the position under the naturalized citizen requirement in the Constitution.

  262. pitchaboy says:

I think the dems are looking for red meat too; for them it is a candidate who is way left. What surprises me is how a country that is center right gets fooled by lefties pretending to be centrists.

  273. janz says:

This 2012 election cycle is like a bowl of jello. It takes time to set up, before which it is just too ‘fluid’ to represent anything that has real substance.

We still don’t even have an official nominee, only a presumed one who is still getting static from the likes of Santorum and states like Texas. Once this is determined, the GOP will at least have a formal staging ground in which to present it’s platform and governing differences from the current Failure-in-Chief.

  275. janz says:

    Obama’s abysmal record

    The article starts out with:

Is this the week the Obama administration’s remarkable incompetence begins to be the narrative? If so, he’s toast.

    and ends with this:

In sum, it’s a remarkable record, especially for a man who thinks of himself as a transformational figure in American history. The president looks in the mirror and sees FDR. Increasingly, the rest of the country look at him and see Jimmy Carter, perhaps even James Buchanan. They were both one-term presidents.

GARFIELD HEIGHTS, Ohio (Reuters) – Half a decade into the deepest U.S. housing crisis since the 1930s, many Americans are hoping the crisis is finally nearing its end. House sales are picking up across most of the country, the plunge in prices is slowing and attempts by lenders to claim back properties from struggling borrowers dropped by more than a third in 2011, hitting a four-year low.

But a painful part two of the slump looks set to unfold: Many more U.S. homeowners face the prospect of losing their homes this year as banks pick up the pace of foreclosures.

“We are right back where we were two years ago. I would put money on 2012 being a bigger year for foreclosures than 2010,” said Mark Seifert, executive director of Empowering & Strengthening Ohio’s People (ESOP), a counseling group with 10 offices in Ohio.

Well, I’m Ginger McCormick from SC, who moved to NC, and I have always been a loyal democrat.

I embraced Obama in 2008, thinking all that hope and change would clean up our country! Boy, was I ever wrong! And now I’m mad.

Unlike some of these other crazy turncoats, calling themselves republicans (and I know they aren’t), I’m voting for the republican this time around, and hoping it’s Romney.

Overall, Friday jobs report did not impress even the MSM. There were anemic efforts to spin it into something numerically positive. But, basically the reponses were negative to worried by most news outlets, similar to the ones expressed by Federal Reserve officials.

Whether the March slowdown in hiring indicates a momentary blip or a long-term trend is unknown, but Federal Reserve officials have expressed concern that the job growth logged in recent months is an illusion.

The pace of job creation is central to Obama’s chances in November, when the economy is likely to be the top issue for voters.

Weak jobs report could spell trouble for Obama

What is wrong with the Republican party in Texas? Why are they even considering changing from a winner-take-all primary to a proportional primary when it comes to the delegates?

  300. bio mom says:

It is the opposite for Texas. From proportional to winner take all.

  301. Diamond Jim says:

310 You’re right. My main question is why they want to prolong the primary.

  302. subbing for MFG says:

“Type in a Google search for the words “immigration reform,” and in the split second it takes for your results to pop up, the president’s reelection campaign may begin courting you. Up comes an ad for barack, next to the search results.”

I typed in immigration reform and clicked on Obama’s ad. I suggest we all help internet commerce by each of us clicking on several Obama ads per day. Google and their employees will thank us for supporting them.

  323. SusyQue says:

#332…one half of California residents do not pay their taxes. They are on the dole and that is how the Dems get the votes. It is disgusting!

  325. SusyQue says:

Armed Neo-Nazis Now Patrolling Sanford, Say They Are “Prepared” For Post-Trayvon Martin Violence

Neo-Nazis are currently conducting heavily armed patrols in and around Sanford, Florida and are “prepared” for violence in the case of a race riot. The patrols are to protect “white citizens in the area who are concerned for their safety” in the wake of the Trayvon Martin shooting last month, says Commander Jeff Schoep of the National Socialist Movement. “We are not advocating any type of violence or attacks on anybody, but we are prepared for it,” he says. “We are not the type of white people who are going to be walked all over.”
Because nothing diffuses racial tension like gun-toting racial separatists patrolling an already on-edge community.

  326. addisonst says:

The nazi thing is bigger crap than Jews will flock to a mormon

  327. SusyQue says:

    Medved is correct.

The doctrines of the Latter Day Saint movement, commonly referred to as Mormonism, teach that its adherents, Latter-day Saints, are either direct descendants of the House of Israel, or are adopted into it. As such, Judaism is foundational to the history of Mormonism; the Jewish people are considered a covenant people of God, held in high esteem, and are respected in the Mormon faith system. The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints (LDS Church) is consequently very philo-Semitic in its doctrine.

  328. addisonst says:

The latest wildfire spreading through the media and blogosphere is that armed neo-Nazis are patrolling Sanford, FL, in anticipation of trouble if George Zimmerman is not charged in the killing of Trayvon Martin. In what has become a prime example of media malpractice, none of the major publications spreading the rumors bothered to check with local law enforcement. I did, and the Sanford Police deny any indication of neo-Nazi patrols. . .

  329. addisonst says:

Hall monitor its very simple. Romney is goyim. There isn’t any difference to most jews over what kind of goyim. That’s why he won’t lose any votes. But if you or medved thinks he’s any better than any other goyim you’re incorrect. Its why I laugh when catholics and baptists call mormonism a cult. To Jews you all believe in the original jonestown kool aid false prophet. Your savior is just one in a long line of carny barkers to the chosen

    Huckabee takes aim at Rush
    By: Dylan Byers
    April 7, 2012

Rush Limbaugh, the longstanding undisputed king of conservative talk radio who’s been dogged by controversy recently, is about to face some more heat. Not from the left, but this time from the right.
On Monday, former Arkansas governor and one-time Republican presidential candidate Mike Huckabee will launch a three-hour radio program on almost 200 stations across the country, going voice-to-voice with Limbaugh in the noon-to-3 p.m. time slot, Monday through Friday.
Cumulus Media, which owns and operates the new program, is already pitching Huckabee to listeners and advertisers as the “safe alternative” to a man who has recently found himself under weeks of intense fire – not for the first time – and who some believe could be vulnerable to a challenge from someone offering a kinder, gentler conservative voice.

  341. Addisonst says:

Dr j I love that. When I worked on the judiciary cmte grass was regarded as the dimmest bulb. So he knows from stupid. Will make a great ad. Forrest gump thinks s4b is stupid too.

  342. Addisonst says:

For the record this was 25 yrs ago. Di fi wasn’t on the cmte.

  343. lisab says:

    actually we have addisnst

who wants to determine guilt or innocence based on skin color

e.g. zimmerman is guilty because he looks white

it des not matter what injuries he sustained or that three witnesses confirm his story

  344. Addisonst says:

Actually we have a guy who was killed w no weapon by a guy who had one. Why do I care about skin color? Want to wager zimmerman is convicted of some felony?

  345. lisab says:

i don’t know why you care he was black but you are the one who said he was killed because he was black

never mind the victim and witnesses who say he was shot for reportedly beating zimmerman’s head into the ground and breaking his nose

what can i say, you base your guilty verdict purely on skin color

  346. lisab says:

so if zimmerman had been darker skinned would you at least let him get just life instead of the chair

like say he was a berber from morocco

    could he defend himself then?

or what if went to a tanning salon twice a week for a few months?

i mean really tan, like a george hamilton tan?

does sunless tanning count? because i burn easily, and i want t make sure i can defend myself if attacked.

  347. lisab says:

    ok a hypothetical for you

ricky martin shoots and kills enrique iglesias after enrique attacks ricky and starts beating his head into the ground after attacking ricky from behind

under addisonst’s rules who is guilty in that situation because they are about the same skin color?

note that the witnesses agree that enrique was beating zimmerman’s head int the ground, but … and here is the key … enrique had also recently vacationed in acapulco

  348. MD says:

Obama has 20 campaign offices already in PA. Same story in OH. Yea, this will be easy (sarc).

Santorum has yet to campaign in the burbs of Philly. Maybe a dead ended can explain that strategy.

  349. MD says:

Btw – I don’t think Robert’s will swear in Obama for a third term while shackled in chains. However, if Obama wins re-election (he is clearly the favorite today) and one of the conservative justices dies, then it would not be a stretch for the sups to declare the amendment on term limits for a potus to be unconstitutional. I know that makes no sense but with Lib justices common sense doesn’t matter. A 5% of happening. Slim but not totally impossible.

  350. MD says:

As for Zimmerman, we don’t know all the facts yet.

  351. mnw says:

Huckabee will go head-to-head against Limbaugh w/ a 3-hour radio program– Huck calls himself “the safe alternative” to Limbaugh.

I give Huck’s show 3 weeks before cancellation.

  352. hugh says:

I will start listening to Huck only because limbaugh has gone from one of our biggest assets to a now distructive force for conservatives who actually want to win an election or two.

  353. Phil says:

Roberts won’t need to be chained. One more lib Supreme and he might as well be in a maximum security prison. I mean, 5-4 is all zero needs to get whatever the hell he wants – constitutional or not.

  354. Tim says:

That 5-4 split has certainly worked very well for the GOP, for the last few years………..

  355. Phil says:
