  1. Wobbles says:

We still need a brokered convention. It is the only way to prevent an 8 point defeat.

  2. EML says:

I agree. A brokered convention should produce a Jeb Bush-Sarah Palin ticket. A winning combination for sure. These two would fire up the base and everyone knows thats all you need to win.

  3. MD says:

Always nice to start with a dead ender.

  4. Knighthawk says:

    Happy Easter Dave.

  5. Scott says:

Happy Easter and Passover to ALL!!!

  6. Wobbles says:

Will the Mitt Romney ticket lose by the same or greater margin than McCain – 2008?

  7. Wobbles says:

Firing up the centrists last time did well for McCain.

  8. Michael says:

Most of you bums forget that McCain actually won the exact same percentage of Conservative voters that Bush did in 2004. It was squarely independents and independent minded Latinos that turned against him. Had McCain won Latinos at the rate Bush did in 2004 without independents, the race would have been only a 3 point margin. Had he won the independents like Bush in 2004 he would have narrowly won very similarly to Bush. But he didn’t. Sarah Palin’s rhetoric turned away independents regardless of how “independent” she said she was.

Jeb Bush would be considered a centrist today.

Santorum should bow out now and unite the Party. Put Chris Christie on the ticket to obliterate Joe Biden and call it a wrap.

  9. Michael says:

Admittedly, Palin added some conservative appeal to the McCain ticket. So in my view, adding her was actually not a game changer at all. Because it brought some disaffected conservatives back but removed independents, making her impact on the race a total wash, maybe a small liability.

Huckabee is going head-to-head w/ Limbaugh in Huck’s brand new, 3-hour radio program. The Huckster is calling it “the safe alternative to Rush Limbaugh.”

From what I’ve seen & heard from the Huckster, his natural competitors are Ed Schultz & NPR, not Limbaugh.

  11. mnw says:

“The Liberal Gospel Hour,” with your host… the Huck!

  12. mnw says:

Can’t WAIT for that exciting daily feature in which Fatboy Huck plays his ax alongside some hasbeen ’60s rocker, can you?

  13. Tim says:

The last Election was a referendum on Bush and the Economy. That’s why Independents voted for the President. No VP candidates drove anyone anywhere.

  14. SusyQue says:

    GOP Superdelegates

It’s over, and Mitt Romney is going to be the GOP nominee for president.
That’s the growing consensus among Republican National Committee members who will automatically attend the party’s national convention this summer and can support any candidate they choose.
Even some RNC members who support other candidates begrudgingly say the math doesn’t add up for anyone but the former Massachusetts governor.
“I would be surprised if Romney doesn’t get the number he needs,” said Jeff Johnson, an RNC member from Minnesota who supports former House Speaker Newt Gingrich. Bob Bennett, an RNC member from Ohio, was more blunt.
“Look, Gov. Romney’s going to be the nominee, and he’s going to have enough votes,” said Bennett, who is publicly neutral but said he supported Romney four years ago.

  16. SusyQue says:

This day is a very special day for Christians. They greeted each other by saying, “The Lord is risen! and the response was. “He has risen, indeed!” It is not about Easter bunnies, etc. If Jesus did not raise from the dead, none of us would be able to enter Heaven, at our death. He paid the ultimate penalty for our sins. That is why Christians can rejoice!

  17. lisab says:

“As for Zimmerman, we don’t know all the facts yet.” Comment by MD

actually we know zimmerman was white and trayvon was black

that is enough according to addisonst

  18. lisab says:

    palin was a benefit

    until the couric interview

  19. SusyQue says:

    Woe to Race-baiters!

It’s not the color of our skin, but the content of our character that is important in our lives. How foolish we continue to be when we know what is right, but choose to divide our nation by race!

  20. Addisonst says:

We know zimmerman had a gun was told by the cops not to engage and killed an unarmed man. That looks like manslaughter minimum. Don’t know whether its murder because self defense may limit that charge. And now malaprop and her neo nazi partners can play with themselves. Oh, zimmerman isn’t white

  21. Tim V says:

We know zimmerman had a gun was told by the cops not to engage-Add

    I didn’t know 911 operators were cops.

  22. SusyQue says:

Mike Wallace (journalist) died yesterday. Age 93

  23. MD says:

    Crazy people. Flat out nuts.

  24. janz says:

susy — I hadn’t heard about Mike Wallace’s death. He was a feisty man and journalist.

As to today — may all here have a wonderful Easter!

  25. janz says:

BTW — nice seeing you here again, KH.

  27. ParakeetsForRomneyVictory says:

    Everyone chill today

  28. lisab says:

    “Oh, zimmerman isn’t white”

yes, but he is nt as tan as trayvon

so according to yur race based justice

trayvon was allowed to beat zimmerman to death

  29. lisab says:

so if zimmerman had been darker skinned would you at least let him get just life instead of the chair

like say he was a berber from morocco

    could he defend himself then?

or what if went to a tanning salon twice a week for a few months?

i mean really tan, like a george hamilton tan?

does sunless tanning count? because i burn easily, and i want t make sure i can defend myself if attacked.

  30. lisab says:

    ok a hypothetical for you

ricky martin shoots and kills enrique iglesias after enrique attacks ricky and starts beating his head into the ground after attacking ricky from behind

under addisonst’s rules who is guilty in that situation because they are about the same skin color?

note that the witnesses agree that enrique was beating zimmerman’s head int the ground, but … and here is the key … enrique had also recently vacationed in acapulco

Gingrich says campaign ‘on a shoestring,’ signals he’s preparing for Romney nomination

“Romney, he said, “is far and away the most likely” nominee. Looking back on the race, Gingrich said he has “no regrets”….

“I hit him as hard as I could, he hit me as hard as he could — turned out he had more things to hit with than I did,” Gingrich said. “That’s part of the business.”….

“We are absolutely committed to defeating Barack Obama,” he said. “I will work as hard for (Romney) as I would for myself.”

He said he’s already spoken with RNC Chairman Reince Priebus about how he can help going into November. “Beyond that … I’ll go back to a post-political career,” Gingrich said.”

    Can Santorum do the same?

  42. janz says:

Those Gingrich comments show a sense of humility I didn’t think he possessed.

  43. Annie says:

    Happy Easter!! Happy Passover, too!!

  44. lt says:

#45 That shows class. Can some of the posters here do the same?

  45. mnw says:

SNL is going full-Palin on Romney. Get him defined as an opportunistic fool ASAP!

  46. SusyQue says:

All you pros in HHR cyberland…why can’t I get an article to post? Vhat (intentional V) am I doing wrong?

Those skits aren’t very effective he actor playing Romney looks nothing like him and hardly sounds like him.

  49. The Gremlin says:

This is MY territory! Beat it, Evil!!

  50. SusyQue says:

    I’ll paraphase the article:
Donlan, the cardinal, said there is no good reason
NOT to vote for a cadidate just because he is a mormon.
On Meet the Press they had a discussion about votings for people with different religions and they included mormons. Dr. Graham’s daughter said we should look at character and how they have lived their lives and not what religion they are!

  53. mnw says:

    Hey, BL

You figure Beltran for the Triple Crown yet?

  54. SusyQue says:

Gingrich: Romney and I are at peace

Newt Gingrich said Sunday that he and Republican presidential rival Mitt Romney were at peace — and that their attacks on each other were “part of the business” of running for president.
“I hit him as hard as I could, he hit me as hard as he could,” Gingrich said. “Turns out he had more things to hit with than I did. That’s part of the business.”
(Also on POLITICO: Gingrich: ‘I have no regrets’)
“We’re both grandparents. We really see this as the fight for the future of our grandchildren’s country,” Gingrich said on “Fox News Sunday.” “We really see this as not just defeating Obama but changing Washington.”
“We are absolutely committed to defeating Barack Obama,” Gingrich said. “This is the most important election, in some ways, since 1860. Barack Obama’s a genuine radical.”

  55. Bitterlaw says:

Mnw – I will let you know about Beltran after his first time on the DL and lingering hamstring injury,

  56. mnw says:

I don’t sit at the computer very long. I post and then I wash clothes, or begin cooking,or whatever, so I don’t scroll as much as I should. Tsk_Tsk on me!

  61. SusyQue says:

    Who is it?

Meh, a lot of the stuff I post gets repeated… everyone is welcome to it.

  63. DrJay says:

    Happy birthday Ron Johnson!!

  64. DrJay says:

Prominent Democrat says GOP NOT waging ‘war on women’

“Yes, that is wrong. And I’ve never said it, not one time,” Rep. Emanuel Cleaver, D-Mo., said, speaking on CNN’s “State of the Union.”

“I condemn it. If it’s a Democrat, if it’s my cousin, it’s wrong,” Cleaver said. “And I think we need to stop that. It is damaging the body politic and it’s further separating the people in this country.”

Cleaver… said the same holds true for Republicans accusing President Obama of waging a war on religion…

Cleaver urged lawmakers and politicians to dial back the campaign-season rhetoric.

“We’ve got to quit exaggerating our political differences… I think we’ve got to stop it. That is not doing this country this any good at all.”

    Wow, good for you Congressman!

  65. DrJay says:

    Great shot, Bubba Watson!!

  66. mnw says:

    Doc J

I’ve watched Cleaver’s political performance in KC for 30 years. He’ll absolutely break your heart, if you make the mistake of believing he’s anything other than a corrupt inner city machine hack.

On another note, the RNC & the Romney campaign have filed papers with the FEC which are required in order to pursue JOINT fundraising… but, I’m sure Santorum is still viable! /s

  67. DrJay says:

#70 No, I know, mnw. That’s part of what shocked me.

  68. lisab says:

The Obama administration is responding to the recent report that shows a federal agency spent more that $800,000 on a lavish conference near Las Vegas by putting some of the blame on the Bush administration.

  69. mnw says:

    Ripped From Today’s Headlines:

Cleaver & his wife have defaulted on a $1.5 million SBA loan for a Grandview, MO car wash. Cleaver had been the principal sponsor of legislation which facilitated the 2002 loan. |He received three forbearances from Bank of America… just like YOU would if you defaulted on YOUR loan. /s

Cleaver also made a deadly serious attempt to earmark $48 billion (NOT “million”) for a “day care center” one of his buddies runs out of his home.

  70. DrJay says:

Now THAT doesn’t shock me. 🙂

  71. janz says:

Mitt Romney and Benjamin Netanyahu are old friends

I listened to an interview a while back detailing these two leader’s friendship dating back to the 70’s. After an Obama presidency, I bet Israel is routing for the Romney to win in ’12.

  72. SusyQue says:

#75…janz…heard a program that said ooo’s has made an agreement that the 2012 election votes will not be counted in our country , but will be given another group who will give the votes to Spain. By doing this the votes could never be recounted in this country if there election were very close. Have you heard anything about that?

  73. Dylan says:

#75–then Bibi needs to do a better job ensuring that 60+% of the idiotic US Jews (it will be at least that high) do not vote against their own self-interest and that of Israel’s by voting for Obama. Less will vote for him this time than in 2008 but it will be at least 60% for him. Utterly suicidal and moronic.

  74. Wobbles says:

I am concerned about the Drudge Report picture of Romney on vacation. It looks a lot like Kerry and the windsurfing ad from 2004.

More proof that we need a brokered convention.

  75. SusyQue says:

#76…Found the URL for what Savage says is how ooo is going to control the 2012 election.

Michael Savage: How Obama fixed 2012 election

  76. Psycho says:

78 Why don’t you write him a letter and tell him about your concerns.

  77. Emerica says:

“I am concerned about the Drudge Report picture of Romney on vacation. It looks a lot like Kerry and the windsurfing ad from 2004.”

Romney was probably trying to show the public he has a normal male body whereas when Santorum was vacationing in Puerto Rico he looked like the late Pot Bellied Kim Jong Ill.

  78. new says:

Nothing would make me happier than to see the faces of these overpaid staffers in Nov when Obama gets his *** kicked.

The one billion dollar campaign who complains about superpacs rolls on!

  79. Tim says:

    Michael Savage? LOL

  80. Tim says:

    Yeah, good luck with that……

  81. Tim says:

    To who? SNL, maybe?
