We still need a brokered convention. It is the only way to prevent an 8 point defeat.
I agree. A brokered convention should produce a Jeb Bush-Sarah Palin ticket. A winning combination for sure. These two would fire up the base and everyone knows thats all you need to win.

Will the Mitt Romney ticket lose by the same or greater margin than McCain – 2008?
Firing up the centrists last time did well for McCain.
Most of you bums forget that McCain actually won the exact same percentage of Conservative voters that Bush did in 2004. It was squarely independents and independent minded Latinos that turned against him. Had McCain won Latinos at the rate Bush did in 2004 without independents, the race would have been only a 3 point margin. Had he won the independents like Bush in 2004 he would have narrowly won very similarly to Bush. But he didn’t. Sarah Palin’s rhetoric turned away independents regardless of how “independent” she said she was.
Jeb Bush would be considered a centrist today.
Santorum should bow out now and unite the Party. Put Chris Christie on the ticket to obliterate Joe Biden and call it a wrap.
Admittedly, Palin added some conservative appeal to the McCain ticket. So in my view, adding her was actually not a game changer at all. Because it brought some disaffected conservatives back but removed independents, making her impact on the race a total wash, maybe a small liability.
Huckabee is going head-to-head w/ Limbaugh in Huck’s brand new, 3-hour radio program. The Huckster is calling it “the safe alternative to Rush Limbaugh.”
From what I’ve seen & heard from the Huckster, his natural competitors are Ed Schultz & NPR, not Limbaugh.

That’s the growing consensus among Republican National Committee members who will automatically attend the party’s national convention this summer and can support any candidate they choose.
Even some RNC members who support other candidates begrudgingly say the math doesn’t add up for anyone but the former Massachusetts governor.
“I would be surprised if Romney doesn’t get the number he needs,” said Jeff Johnson, an RNC member from Minnesota who supports former House Speaker Newt Gingrich. Bob Bennett, an RNC member from Ohio, was more blunt.
“Look, Gov. Romney’s going to be the nominee, and he’s going to have enough votes,” said Bennett, who is publicly neutral but said he supported Romney four years ago.
