Lugar Leads Mourdock By 2% in IN
Sorry for the quick follow up post, but we do have new poll for the US Senate primary race in Indiana from Magellan Strategies showing sitting US Senator Dick Lugar leading Richard Mourdock by two percentage points.
US SENATE – INDIANA – GOP PRIMARY (Magellan)
Dick Lugar (inc) 44%
Richard Mourdock 42%
This poll was done May 1st among 400 likely voters. One caveat, the poll was paid for by a pro-Lugar group called Lunch Pail Republicans.

Won
Let’s go, Mourdock! Get that dinosaur out of there.
Lunch Pail Republicans is the anti Right to Work group of Republicans. Translation? The unions and teachers’ unions.
I doubt that many of those undecideds are going to pull the lever for Lugar.
Indiana is an open primary state so the votes of independents and Democrats could decide this thing.
Shep says, I don’t understand what Newt is trying to say. Newt ranted on and on. He obviously doesn’t want to endorse Romney.
Go Lugar!
I do not think Newt will speak at the GOP convention. He has out worn any positives he may have had. He has a lot in common with ooo. iiiiii-mememememe

12.In many election, America’s enemies overseas took various actions to try to impact the outcome of the POTUS elections in hopes of getting the candidate who would be the lesser to oppose them and their agenda.
If you were America’s overseas enemies, who would you be supporting in the POTUS election and what would you do to foster his chances of winning?
(other than funneling illegal campaign contributions to “your” candidate like was done in 2008)

Is there anybody here who wouldn’t support Mourdock if he wins the primary?
And would Obammer pull a “wag the dog” or just BBQ one?
How sad and heartbreaking to listen to Seau’s anguished mother.
And what will the domestic enemies (groups in the U.S.) pull this fall to try to get Obammer reelected?

I want Lugar to win because I like seeing the RINO hunters lose.
That Ras Nevada poll was very disappointing. Looks like that state is a goner.
someone below asked about the chances to reach a 269-269 tie.
That’s an interesting question. Not too many ways for it to happen mathematically. Assuming Romney flips IN, NC, FL, OH, VA and NH. Then somehow loses one EV in NE. That would be 269.
The only other option remotely possible is flipping IN, NC, FL, OH, NH, IA and NV, but not VA. That would also be 269. The other options are even less likely.
marc–
7 out of the top 8 state with highest UE were states that voted for Obammer in 2008.

Does ‘Freedom Tower’ height fulfill prophecy?
News this week that the new World Trade Center Freedom Tower surpassed the height of the Empire State Building to become New York’s tallest building is stirring even more interest in America’s bestselling Christian book and video documentary – both of which contend the country is missing the spiritual warning of 9/11 by simply building higher, bigger and stronger structures after the worst attack on the homeland in history.
The Freedom Tower isn’t expected to reach its full height for at least another year. When complete, One World Trade will stand at 1,776 feet, which includes a 408-foot-tall antenna spire that will sit on its roof. Discounting the antenna, it will still be the second-highest building in the U.S., after the Willis Tower in Chicago.
•Jonathan Cahn’s book “The Harbinger” skyrocketed to the top of the New York Times bestsellers list by suggesting America was following in the defiant footsteps of ancient Israel as recorded in Isaiah 9:10 by insisting on rebuilding bigger and better without considering what God was trying to tell the country
It was on Monday the rising tower passed the height of the Empire State Building with the installation of a vertical structural beam. The date, April 30, also is a key date revealed in Cahn’s “The Harbinger,” concerning the mystery of Ground Zero.

>>That Ras Nevada poll was very disappointing. Looks like that state is a goner.<<
waaay to early to say something like that but NV isn't even in my focus on how to get to 270
What a pity Rick Perry turned out to be a complete dummy. That 245,700 jobs added number really stands out.
20- No need to cater to the safe blue states, Walt; they’ll vote for Obammer anyway. Much like the New Deal spent much if not most of its money on a select group of competitive northern states (not counting the TVA) where FDR would actually have to campaign. Notice that aside from the big wins in ’32 and ’36, state like WI, IL, OH and even MI, PA and NJ were in play and gave FDR narrow wins (he also lost some of them during the different runs in ’40 and ’44). New York was also close in both runs (five and then 3 points in the last two elections). Those northern states were ridiculously close, and it can be postulated that currying favour via massive spending targeted in those states helped keep FDR in office via EVs (he was destined to win the popular votes based if nothing else on his massive margins in the South).
Susy, just please stop.
Yet another handle blown; I really need to look at the name box before I post.
Imaginative GF…

So if candidate A wins your state by 80% of the vote, but candidate B wins more popular votes nationally, all of your EC votes will go to candidate B instead of candidate A that 80% of your voters chose.
Yeah. That makes sense.

Flip a finger to the 80% of the voters in your state. We just go the way of CA, IL, NY, MA, and others making THEIR voters votes count far more than the ones in your state.
What are these people smoking?
On paper Rick Perry would have been the perfect candidate to put up against Obama. A sorta John Wayne type made good by the promise of America.
Does Mourdock beat Donnelly soundly or no?
PPP has Romney up only 48-43 in Montana. However, even that isn’t close enough for Jensen so he throws in Gary Johnson as the Libertarian candidate to narrow it to 43-41.
Damn , Elon University polled NC as well last week and said that ” Obama is in a very strong position to carry the state again with a higher margin .”.
He has an approval of 49%.
#32 last poll I saw had them in a dead-even tie
@33 Jensen isn’t even hiding his hackery anymore
Wasn’t it only a 2% race there in ’08? I wonder if Ron Paul will get on the ballot again.
Well, Well….SusyQue…may not be a drama queen after all!
So, another nutjob agrees with SSQ and that means it’s true? Ok. Does that mean that if another Ron Paul supporter shows up that Bunu is suddenly a genius?
Yeah, Obama carried Montana by 2.5%, but it took a national landslide of 7% to produce that.
No way he gets that this cycle.
28- I know, MFG. It was a play on the whole Jewess wives being comfortable with Bitter and myself (tied into some random thing about the aforementioned Asian subgroups economic and political habits). Alas, it must now be retired (well, it really was a one-time deal).
GF – for blowing your cover, take your Philly A-hole punishment. You have to listen to MD talk and talk and talk about how much money he made today. Call after 10:00 p.m. EDT – It might be lap dance night.
Obama did not carry Montana McCain won it by 3%. You people need to stop worrying about these polls. The top line is meaningless.
It’s whats inside that matters. If you think PPP is bias why do you carry what they put out? I certainly don’t because I know that once it matters they will chance the numbers so they has a firm remains viable outside of the Kos crazies.
That’s unfair, Bitter; I am a non-voting honorary member (heck, even my input at our “meetings” gets pushed aside faster than an empty glass/bottle of Goose). Indeed, by that standard, it really is an A-Hole punishment. Our organization has earned its moniker well.
*sigh*
7PM PST it is…
Nobody wants to be Zogbyed
#38…Bitter…I am just saying there may very well be something
foreboding about this new high Tower called the “One World Trade Center” when it is finished.
GF – You add a degree of class to the proceedings. You are a member of the military. What else do I have to look forward to? Brandon shows up late and looks at phone hoping some chick will text him. MD rambles on about how he is thwarted at every turn by the Chairman of the Board, who happens to be a sock puppet. MD is the head of 27 committees – 19 of them involve entertainment and “business meetings.”
1776 is an ominous number; after all, that is when the just ruler of the American colonies was deposed and revolt consummed the land. To make such a braggadocio statement as to construct your new little building that height (using an antiquated measuring system, no less) is preposterous and will earn you rabble world-wide enmity, so unlike the good relations we left in our former colonies and dependencies.
Police are checking Seau’s girlfriend’s hands to see if there is any residue from the gun. Suicide or Homicide? That is the question!
Ok, SSQ. I can play that game. I am going to make an absurd prediction that you have to accept if I can get somebody to agree with me.
I predict that a plane will crash somewhere in the next 12 months that will kill at least 1 man and 1 woman.
@49 I agree.
>>You people need to stop worrying about these polls. The top line is meaningless<<
we're just passing time enjoying the infotainment. i'm pretty sure most here who like to analyze polls realize their kinda meaningless until the conventions
Great Bitter. I am on a plane (hasn’t pulled away yet) as I type. Really needed to see that post. If my plane goes down and if I go to a Hell I don’t believe in, I will haunt you.
Walker should win by 4 or 5. I believe the NV poll though.
Lugar is finished. This poll is a union front.
Tomorrow is my hell day. 5 meetings then a 90 mile drive.
#49…Bitter, I am going to seriously pray that nothing happens to the tower building because I don’t want innocent people to die.
Sorry, MD. I see what I see. If you go to Hell, can you pick out our the condo ready? Something with a view of the fiery pits would be nice. GF, Brandon and jason want Fios. I prefer Comcast but it’s your call.
52- Have no fear; I’m here for you!
SSQ – why not just pray for all buildings? You are freaked about this one.
Cayman to Miami, flight 2240 in case anything happens.
I’d like a Lake of Fire of River Styx view myself. Lacking a body of water, any “liquid” will do. Plus, we might be able to gang up on that guy who runs the ferry; I’m not paying that toll.
You know what’s fun? Having to put together tables for my organizations annual luncheon.
Going to be honest. One of the tables is just throwing a bunch of different personalities together and seeing what happens.
Muahahahaha.
The others are legitimate attempts at sanity. Just couldn’t help myself with the one…
There are several scenarios where no candidate gets 270 EV and the election goes to the House.
Assuming Romney wins the McCain states:
1. Romney: Wins AZ, IN, FL, NC, OH, NH, NV but not IA not VA, CO
2. Romney: Wins AZ, IN, FL, NC, OH, NH, VA, but not CO, NV, IA and loses 1 EV in NE
3. Romney: Wins IN, FL, NC, OH, IA, PA, and 1 EV in ME, but not NV, CO, VA, NH, AZ
4. Romney: Wins AZ, IN, FL, NC, OH, IA and WI, but not VA, CO, NV, NH
5. Either Romney or Obama gets 270 EV on election night, but a “faithless” elector votes for someone else in the Electoral College
oops! forgot to change the handle on my office comp.
Problem solved
59- Off-shore Cayman accounts? And you expect HHR to believe that you are a 99%-er just like the rest of us. Of course, even if you’re not, I want to emulate your success, so it doesn’t matter. Longing for that day, I always tell myself “JUST WAIT, JUST WAIT!!!”
Bitter, I must remember that you are a defense lawyer, so you can imagine and make up anything you want to with a lot of “what ifs” that’s how you argue on HHR.
keep praying for me Susy, I think I may see the light soon.
61- I’m currently obsessed with tracking down a bread thief, but I’ll be back for your little “Occupy Paris” clique soon!
90 mile drive.
Wow, practically a modern day Bataan death March. I would sue your employers!!!
SSQ, where is my hat tip for locating that article ?
My commute is 100 miles to and 100 miles from.
Granted, I don’t have the 5 meetings but then, I’m not in the 1% so, perhaps it’s a small price to pay!
Susy is certifiably insane.
Brandon,
I resemble that remark.
Actually, if I “just make things up,” I get an appointment with the Disciplinary Board of the Pennsylvania Supreme Court. The real skill is making real things seem to support what I say.
Jul – I have no idea why you live in the Lehigh Valley and drive to Harrisburg. Both places suck.
#69…Tim V…What article?

#65 – Actually, what Bitter uses is something we call “logic” and “common sense.” These concepts may be foreign to you.
Susy, I do think you are certifiably insane, as Brandon put it.

It is what it is…
And I work in Carlisle, not Harrisburg.
Carlisle sucks way worse.
I almost went to law school in Carlisle. I am so happy that I did not. I never would have met Kelly/Senator Ayotte.
” I never would have met Kelly/Senator Ayotte.”
wasn’t that prophesied in revelations as part of the end of times?
at least there’s a great car show in Carlisle.
Took a GeoPolitics course at Dickinson during the summer of 6th grade as part of the Center for Talented Youth program.
OK, back from cleaning out and sweeping the garage…er….I mean my “office” where I do all my HHR and other “work”.
What have I missed?
And did any of you answer my questions about what the enemies of America might have up their sleeves, or do you consider them too vapid and would rather discuss PPP thumbs-on-the-scales polls?

BTW Bitter, you had the best post by far last night about getting raptured to heaven and SSQ irritated you so much by continually poking you and saying “See, see, I told you so!” that you came back down to earth.
That was priceless.
#80…Tim V. Believe me, I always appreciate when you answer my questions or help me in any way. Thank you!
“12. Is there anybody here who wouldn’t support Mourdock if he wins the primary?”
I won’t. He’s ran for office 11 times in the last 20 years. Twice he’s lost the primary for the the House of Representative. There’s a reason his own district didn’t make him a Congressman and it will come out in the general. The GOP establishment made him the State Treasurer and he turned his back on them because he’s an opportunist. They forgave him once we he pulled his crap at the state convention in 2002. They won’t again.
if you evangelicals are so sure the world will end soon
why decrease government spending?
we can borrow all we want from china and will never have to pay it back.
#89 lisab,
We conservatives don’t necessarily think that the world will end soon, we think that Barack’s world will end soon. There is a big difference.
Walt…thank you for the warnings!
i did not write “conservatives”
i wrote “evangelicals”

Roosevelt did not boast when Yamamoto was shot while in an airplane.
In early April, 1943, Fleet Admiral Isoroku Yamamoto was intercepted in mid-air by American fighter pilots over open water and killed in a daring raid.
Too much hairsplitting on meaningless polls. In all battleground states internals show Obama’s approval stuck in mid forties. With those numbers big defeat is around.
SSQ, I like you. I really do.

Quinnipiac has polls from PA, FL, and OH coming in the morning.
PA BO +6
FL MR +3
OH BO +2

No its Quinnipiac. King Barack will be ahead in all 3. Probably 8 in PA, 5 in OH, and 3 in FL.

I dont take Quinnipac too serious but I think theyre more serious about getting it right this far out then PPP. However they use RV models.
I know that sometimes I go for cheap laughs and lack the proper serious attitude. Over the past few days, I have essentially described MD as a drunk who has a bizarre relationship with a sock puppet named Mr. Vito.
That’s what I wanted to say. Were you expecting something else?

but I am certain some here will panic
In its last poll of these three(3) States in late March,Quinnipiac had the following results:
FL- O+7
PA- O+3
OH- O+6

if that is so, then I will predict Quinny to show:
(Using RV, so you gotta subtract 2-3 pts. from the O side)
FL O+2
PA O+5
OH O+4

Another lie from Bunu:

While I think it is absurd that Republicanswould would have a problem with a gay staffer just for being gay, Bunu lied again by making it seem like Romney fired him.

NYT crossword? No. Dear heavens, they take me a week to get about 1/2 of it filled in.
Daily newspaper crosswords? Used to–long ago.
Gave them up for cryptoquips and Soduku when I have time for diversions.
Is GF around?

That is definitely better than I expected. Obama at 43% in FL and 44% in OH in a college RV poll? I really don’t see him being able to recover from that.
I`ll buy OH and FL
but PA is far from that imo
Obama leads there but not that margin
Still lasting Satorum damage.
Be interesting to see Indy women on PA. Bet Obama is up by 20
Also – wouldn’t surprise me if Obama was only behind by single digits (high) with r women.
Ben – I think that is accurate. It will tighten a lot but PA is not a good potus state for us.
Lol! Some think santo kept Romney “honest”. What a joke.
PA woman 52/35
Newt, Santorum and Palin have not endorsed Romney. Why not?
Their lack of endorsement weakens our GOP ticket when we should be united. They should be out there encouraging every segment of society, especially the “conservative evangelicals” to vote for Mitt Romney so we can fire president zero in November. Is that their focus and goal…to fire ooo, or is it to expand their own power, wealth, rank and honor.
Maybe I was wrong Ben. With Indy women he might have a 20 + lead. That is where the election will be won or lost. We are in a hole thanks to Santorum.
Sq – their endorsements aren’t relevant. It is Indy women who matter now. Every other segment is spoken for. This was up for grabs 4 months ago. Thanks Rick.
I def. buy this polling (though Obama being up that high in PA makes me raise an eyebrow). Overall though much better then the hacktastic PPP polls we’ve been having to cut through lately. Looks like there’s trend that Mitt is up (be it barely) in my home state.
It will be a close election. I can’t believe anyone thinks we could win a blow out. That defies logic.
@215 Pitch is putting money on that. The man seems confident.
I personally think it’s a 280-300 win for whoever pulls it out.
AP Economists claim UE rate on Election day will be 7.9%
and it looks like Sarkozy failed to make his pitch to voters in the debate
MD is right santorum really hurt the cause with women. He newt and palin are for their own purposes risk giving us 4 more years we may not recover from.
143 my gay brother in law is planning on voting for romney. He vote for o last time.
Md. It could be a blowout if debates go well. Could also be a close loss.
#220:
Does he know who Romney fired this week, and why?
#215:
Yes, it does.
