Lugar Leads Mourdock By 2% in IN

Sorry for the quick follow up post, but we do have new poll for the US Senate primary race in Indiana from Magellan Strategies showing sitting US Senator Dick Lugar leading Richard Mourdock by two percentage points.

Dick Lugar (inc) 44%
Richard Mourdock 42%

This poll was done May 1st among 400 likely voters. One caveat, the poll was paid for by a pro-Lugar group called Lunch Pail Republicans.

I doubt that many of those undecideds are going to pull the lever for Lugar.

Indiana is an open primary state so the votes of independents and Democrats could decide this thing.

I do not think Newt will speak at the GOP convention. He has out worn any positives he may have had. He has a lot in common with ooo. iiiiii-mememememe

12.In many election, America’s enemies overseas took various actions to try to impact the outcome of the POTUS elections in hopes of getting the candidate who would be the lesser to oppose them and their agenda.

If you were America’s overseas enemies, who would you be supporting in the POTUS election and what would you do to foster his chances of winning?

(other than funneling illegal campaign contributions to “your” candidate like was done in 2008)

  18. DW says:

someone below asked about the chances to reach a 269-269 tie.

That’s an interesting question. Not too many ways for it to happen mathematically. Assuming Romney flips IN, NC, FL, OH, VA and NH. Then somehow loses one EV in NE. That would be 269.

The only other option remotely possible is flipping IN, NC, FL, OH, NH, IA and NV, but not VA. That would also be 269. The other options are even less likely.

  19. Walt says:

7 out of the top 8 state with highest UE were states that voted for Obammer in 2008.
No hope, little change to spare.

Does ‘Freedom Tower’ height fulfill prophecy?

News this week that the new World Trade Center Freedom Tower surpassed the height of the Empire State Building to become New York’s tallest building is stirring even more interest in America’s bestselling Christian book and video documentary – both of which contend the country is missing the spiritual warning of 9/11 by simply building higher, bigger and stronger structures after the worst attack on the homeland in history.
The Freedom Tower isn’t expected to reach its full height for at least another year. When complete, One World Trade will stand at 1,776 feet, which includes a 408-foot-tall antenna spire that will sit on its roof. Discounting the antenna, it will still be the second-highest building in the U.S., after the Willis Tower in Chicago.
•Jonathan Cahn’s book “The Harbinger” skyrocketed to the top of the New York Times bestsellers list by suggesting America was following in the defiant footsteps of ancient Israel as recorded in Isaiah 9:10 by insisting on rebuilding bigger and better without considering what God was trying to tell the country
It was on Monday the rising tower passed the height of the Empire State Building with the installation of a vertical structural beam. The date, April 30, also is a key date revealed in Cahn’s “The Harbinger,” concerning the mystery of Ground Zero.

    >>That Ras Nevada poll was very disappointing. Looks like that state is a goner.<<

waaay to early to say something like that but NV isn't even in my focus on how to get to 270

  23. marc says:

What a pity Rick Perry turned out to be a complete dummy. That 245,700 jobs added number really stands out.

  24. Comfortable with Vietnamese and Chinese, not so much with Hmong and Cambodians says:

20- No need to cater to the safe blue states, Walt; they’ll vote for Obammer anyway. Much like the New Deal spent much if not most of its money on a select group of competitive northern states (not counting the TVA) where FDR would actually have to campaign. Notice that aside from the big wins in ’32 and ’36, state like WI, IL, OH and even MI, PA and NJ were in play and gave FDR narrow wins (he also lost some of them during the different runs in ’40 and ’44). New York was also close in both runs (five and then 3 points in the last two elections). Those northern states were ridiculously close, and it can be postulated that currying favour via massive spending targeted in those states helped keep FDR in office via EVs (he was destined to win the popular votes based if nothing else on his massive margins in the South).

How goes the state by state marxist push to toss out the EC and replace with popular vote?
    PASSED and adopted:
    (total of 132 EC Votes)

    Passed both houses:

    Passed one house:
So if candidate A wins your state by 80% of the vote, but candidate B wins more popular votes nationally, all of your EC votes will go to candidate B instead of candidate A that 80% of your voters chose.

    Yeah. That makes sense.
Flip a finger to the 80% of the voters in your state. We just go the way of CA, IL, NY, MA, and others making THEIR voters votes count far more than the ones in your state.

    What are these people smoking?

  30. marc says:

On paper Rick Perry would have been the perfect candidate to put up against Obama. A sorta John Wayne type made good by the promise of America.

  31. Bobby says:

  32. Phil says:

PPP has Romney up only 48-43 in Montana. However, even that isn’t close enough for Jensen so he throws in Gary Johnson as the Libertarian candidate to narrow it to 43-41.

  33. GOPSLAVE says:

Damn , Elon University polled NC as well last week and said that ” Obama is in a very strong position to carry the state again with a higher margin .”. 🙁 He has an approval of 49%.

  40. Bitterlaw says:

GF – for blowing your cover, take your Philly A-hole punishment. You have to listen to MD talk and talk and talk about how much money he made today. Call after 10:00 p.m. EDT – It might be lap dance night.

  41. marc says:

Obama did not carry Montana McCain won it by 3%. You people need to stop worrying about these polls. The top line is meaningless.

It’s whats inside that matters. If you think PPP is bias why do you carry what they put out? I certainly don’t because I know that once it matters they will chance the numbers so they has a firm remains viable outside of the Kos crazies.

  42. GF says:

That’s unfair, Bitter; I am a non-voting honorary member (heck, even my input at our “meetings” gets pushed aside faster than an empty glass/bottle of Goose). Indeed, by that standard, it really is an A-Hole punishment. Our organization has earned its moniker well.

  45. Bitterlaw says:

GF – You add a degree of class to the proceedings. You are a member of the military. What else do I have to look forward to? Brandon shows up late and looks at phone hoping some chick will text him. MD rambles on about how he is thwarted at every turn by the Chairman of the Board, who happens to be a sock puppet. MD is the head of 27 committees – 19 of them involve entertainment and “business meetings.”

  46. George III says:

1776 is an ominous number; after all, that is when the just ruler of the American colonies was deposed and revolt consummed the land. To make such a braggadocio statement as to construct your new little building that height (using an antiquated measuring system, no less) is preposterous and will earn you rabble world-wide enmity, so unlike the good relations we left in our former colonies and dependencies.

  47. SusyQue says:

Police are checking Seau’s girlfriend’s hands to see if there is any residue from the gun. Suicide or Homicide? That is the question!

  48. Bitterlaw says:

Ok, SSQ. I can play that game. I am going to make an absurd prediction that you have to accept if I can get somebody to agree with me.

I predict that a plane will crash somewhere in the next 12 months that will kill at least 1 man and 1 woman.

    @49 I agree.

  61. zorkpolitics says:

There are several scenarios where no candidate gets 270 EV and the election goes to the House.
Assuming Romney wins the McCain states:

    1. Romney: Wins AZ, IN, FL, NC, OH, NH, NV but not IA not VA, CO

    2. Romney: Wins AZ, IN, FL, NC, OH, NH, VA, but not CO, NV, IA and loses 1 EV in NE

    3. Romney: Wins IN, FL, NC, OH, IA, PA, and 1 EV in ME, but not NV, CO, VA, NH, AZ

    4. Romney: Wins AZ, IN, FL, NC, OH, IA and WI, but not VA, CO, NV, NH

    5. Either Romney or Obama gets 270 EV on election night, but a “faithless” elector votes for someone else in the Electoral College

I won’t. He’s ran for office 11 times in the last 20 years. Twice he’s lost the primary for the the House of Representative. There’s a reason his own district didn’t make him a Congressman and it will come out in the general. The GOP establishment made him the State Treasurer and he turned his back on them because he’s an opportunist. They forgave him once we he pulled his crap at the state convention in 2002. 127. Jerry muthertruckin' Cruncher says:

  128. jenny-the conservative movement is dead says:

    these polls are so depressing.

  129. BayernFan says:

I early voted today at a satellite voting center here in Johnson County. I voted for Mourdock.

  130. reggie hammond says:

Tim has been married 35 years? The generosity of women never ceases to amaze me.

  131. Chinese MD says:

    y??yán?wéi?dìng ??? cái?bù!!!

  132. Tim V says:

    132- translation: NO DEAL !!!

  133. ghost of maxwell says:

In chinese the translation for md is man without clue. He think usa can collect taxes from americans who renounce citizenship. Jurisdiction not in vocab u rary.

  134. Tim V says:

ghost, what’s the translation for bitterlaw ?

  135. ghost of maxwell says:

    Ancient chinese proverb.
    Those who can do.
    Those who can’t teach.
Those who can’t teach teach gym.
Those who can’t teach gym practice insurance defense law.

  136. Chinese MD says:

I come over and show your ghost wife good time with real man, douche-well?

  137. ghost of maxwell says:

Bitter and Md angry. Work hard. pay taxes. Chinese translation: suckers.

Lisa B no pay taxes and get free health care and implants.

  138. ghost of maxwell says:

Md make big money but have five meetings and then drive. Which part of story no compute? Md is willy loman. Who make big money and drive to 5 meetings? Idiot or liar or both. See us jurisdiction taxes.

  139. AuthorLMendez, Liberterian For Romney says:

    >>Tim has been married 35 years? The generosity of women never ceases to amaze me.<<

  140. RickPerrysParakeet says:

It was touch and go there for a while Walt some crazy frustrated woman with a banjo knocked me out and I needed help to get home

    Resting safely at home now…

  141. reggie hammond says:

There’s a new sheriff in town. And his name’s reggie hammond. Yall be cool.

  142. Emerica says:

Romney pushes out staffer For Performance? Nope, fired for being Gay.

Which begs the question. Why would any gay person vote for Romney?

  143. AuthorLMendez, Liberterian For Romney says:

The Author always struck me as a putz but this artcile makes the great case that not only has the fat lady not sung yet, but she isn’t even in the shower to start getting ready to get to the show.–fear-the-black-swan-.html

  144. ghost of maxwell says:

Emerica is right so 3 percent of the population will vote against their finances and vote for obama. But then rational jews will vote for romney. Its a wash.

  145. reggie hammond says:

Btw one of the great lies of all time is that the population is 10 percent gay

  146. bio mom says:

No. He was making troublesome tweets without authorization. These were not related to being gay. They prevented him from conference call participation so he quit.

  147. bio mom says:

    147 was meant for 143.

  148. Bitterlaw says:

    Another lie from Bunu:

Grenell resigned from the Romney campaign after waves of Republicans criticized Romney for employing Grenell.

While I think it is absurd that Republicanswould would have a problem with a gay staffer just for being gay, Bunu lied again by making it seem like Romney fired him.

  149. SusyQue says:

#143 A fiscally conservative gay person might vote for Romney.

  150. DrJay says:

    Bunu lied.

    This thread died.

  151. Bitterlaw says:

Why would any gay person vote for Romney?

    Comment by Emerica

Why would anybody with a job vote for a Democrat?

  152. Walt says:

“…Which part of story no compute? Md is willy loman…”
How do you say ‘Willy Loman’ in Chinese?

    Is it ‘Rirry Woman’?

  153. Bitterlaw says:

Why would anybody who is not an anti-Semite vote for Ron Paul? Discuss.

  154. Walt says:

A conservative person who is fiscally gay might vote for Romney.

  155. Walt says:

Glad you were able to tell the police your home address.
Bitter indicates that sometimes after their “meetings” that involve heavy drinking, MD is unable to do that. 🙂

  156. Mr. Vito says:

“Bitter indicates that sometimes after their “meetings” that involve heavy drinking, MD is unable to do that.”

Slander… they are on MDs speed dial, and they have his address memorized.

  157. Walt says:

    Or is it ‘Rirry Roman’?

If Willy Loman was a “rock collector”, then he would be a ‘lock corrector’.

  158. Bitterlaw says:

    Kate Uptown is awesome. Discuss.

  159. Bitterlaw says:

    Kate Upton. Sorry.

  160. RickPerrysParakeet says:

Kate sure hardened my beak with that

She’s so hot she might be able to turn Acroso straight

  161. Walt says:

What can you spell if you rearrange the letters in “Kate Upton’s” name?

    Should be something….

  162. Walt says:

    “161.Kate Upton. Sorry.
    Comment by Bitterlaw”
    Bitter, you are strange.

You think Kate Upton is “sorry”?

    i think she is hot.

  163. Bitterlaw says:

    U kan tap – O! e!

  164. Bitterlaw says:

Walt – After my wife, Kate is the hottest woman on the planet. Of, screw it. My wife’s not reading this blog. Kate is amazing.

  165. Bitterlaw says:

Kate Upton or Brooklyn Decker? Discuss.

  166. Walt says:

Hey, we can say whatever we want on here now. Dave W is at the hockey playoff game and it is knotted up at 1-1 in OT.

Dave is totally distracted by the action on the ice.

  167. Bitterlaw says:

    Party! Let’s rip Bunu!

  168. Bitterlaw says:

    Bunu sucks! Bunu sucks!

  169. Walt says:

That kefuffle about the million dollar lotter ticket and who ons it–woman who threw it away or the woman that got it out of the garbage can?

    It happened in Arkansas.

And now lisab is about to move there. She should be appointed the judicial mediator and tell them:

    “It’s a doggie dog world”

  170. Barry the Dog Eater says:

Somebody say something about eating some dogs?

  171. Bitterlaw says:

Walt – split the ticket. Each woman gets half the winning numbers so both lose.

  172. DrJay says:

Have you ever seen the inside of an Arkansian garbage can? That woman deserves it.

  173. Bitterlaw says:

It’s just you and me, Walt. Do you like gladiator movies?

  174. DrJay says:

Well! I’ll just be on my way then…

  175. Bitterlaw says:

Oh, Hey. DrJay is here. Just taliking about hot women with Walt.

  176. DrJay says:

I’m hanging around, but can’t post much. I’m trying to finish making a half-dozen exams for finals.

  177. Tim V says:

the carl jr ad is also good.

  178. Barry the Dog Eater says:

    Gladiator movies? No.
    Carl jr. ad?
I know not of what you speak.
Did flight 2240 from Cayman to Fla. make it OK?

  179. Walt says:

Oops. Forgot to change my name back.

  180. Tim V says:

bitter, don’t tell susy i watched the kate upton cat daddy vid

  181. Tim says:

I don’t even know what to say about what I just saw.

  182. Bitterlaw says:

Lust and sloth are my 2 favorite deadly sins. Kate Upton is proof God exists. Of course, Rosie O’Donnell is proof he doesn’t.

  183. Bitterlaw says:

Tim – 2 bad pullpens? Phillies had it won twice and couldn’t hold it. The Braves had a 6 run inning and a 5 run inning. I blame Rollins’s error which prevented a double play.

  184. Tim says:

And, doesn’t he just wish I had been here when he said it?

  185. Tim says:

Bitterlaw, I left, and Halladay was cruising with a six-run lead. I come back, and it’s, like, 12-8. What happened to Halladay?

  186. SusyQue says:

#184…Hmmm…Bitter says he doesn’t cheat on his wife.

  187. Walt says:

You can rearrange the letters in

    “Rosie O’Donnell” and spell

    Drill? NO! Noose. (instead)

  188. Walt says:

What are you doing here at this hour?
It is way past your bed time!
Now off to bed with you…

  189. Walt says:

    Noose, no drill.

  190. SusyQue says:

#189…Walt, you are good with words. Do you work the daily and NYT crossword puzzles?

  191. Walt says:

    Caps now in double OT.

our fearless leader Dave W. will be getting home late tonight. Do not expect any new threads early tomorrow.

  192. ParakeetsForRomney2012 says:

Can you imagine dipping your beak into Rosie?

  193. SusyQue says:

I will leave HHR so you boys can tell all your not so secret, secrets.

  194. Walt says:

The Kate Upton video is on TMZ now.

    My she dances so.. so…so…gracefully.

  195. Walt says:

    I’d take the noose instead.

  196. Walt says:

NYT crossword? No. Dear heavens, they take me a week to get about 1/2 of it filled in.

Daily newspaper crosswords? Used to–long ago.

Gave them up for cryptoquips and Soduku when I have time for diversions.

  197. Walt says:

    Is GF around?

  198. Walt says:

    didn;t think so.

  199. Scott says:

    New Quinn Polling==mostly positive news:

    PA- O+8
    OH- O+2
    FL- R+1

  200. Ben Romney says:

    FLORIDA: Romney 44 – Obama 43
Florida voters disapprove 50 – 46 percent of the job Obama is doing and say 50 – 45 percent he does not deserve to be reelected.

    OHIO: Obama 44 – Romney 42
Ohio voters split 48 – 47 percent in their approval of Obama and split 47 – 48 percent on whether he deserves to be reelected.

    PENNSYLVANIA: Obama 47 – Romney 39
Voters approve 50 – 46 percent of the job Obama is doing and say 50 – 46 percent he deserves four more years.

  201. EML says:

That is definitely better than I expected. Obama at 43% in FL and 44% in OH in a college RV poll? I really don’t see him being able to recover from that.

  202. Ben Romney says:

    I`ll buy OH and FL
but PA is far from that imo

Obama leads there but not that margin

  203. MD says:

    Still lasting Satorum damage.

  204. MD says:

Be interesting to see Indy women on PA. Bet Obama is up by 20

  205. MD says:

Also – wouldn’t surprise me if Obama was only behind by single digits (high) with r women.

  206. MD says:

Ben – I think that is accurate. It will tighten a lot but PA is not a good potus state for us.

  207. MD says:

Lol! Some think santo kept Romney “honest”. What a joke.

  208. Ben Romney says:

    PA woman 52/35

  209. SusyQue says:

Newt, Santorum and Palin have not endorsed Romney. Why not?
Their lack of endorsement weakens our GOP ticket when we should be united. They should be out there encouraging every segment of society, especially the “conservative evangelicals” to vote for Mitt Romney so we can fire president zero in November. Is that their focus and goal…to fire ooo, or is it to expand their own power, wealth, rank and honor.

  210. MD says:

Maybe I was wrong Ben. With Indy women he might have a 20 + lead. That is where the election will be won or lost. We are in a hole thanks to Santorum.

  211. MD says:

Sq – their endorsements aren’t relevant. It is Indy women who matter now. Every other segment is spoken for. This was up for grabs 4 months ago. Thanks Rick.

  212. AuthorLMendez, Liberterian For Romney says:

I def. buy this polling (though Obama being up that high in PA makes me raise an eyebrow). Overall though much better then the hacktastic PPP polls we’ve been having to cut through lately. Looks like there’s trend that Mitt is up (be it barely) in my home state.

  213. MD says:

It will be a close election. I can’t believe anyone thinks we could win a blow out. That defies logic.

  214. AuthorLMendez, Liberterian For Romney says:

@215 Pitch is putting money on that. The man seems confident.

I personally think it’s a 280-300 win for whoever pulls it out.

  215. AuthorLMendez, Liberterian For Romney says:

AP Economists claim UE rate on Election day will be 7.9%

  216. AuthorLMendez, Liberterian For Romney says:

and it looks like Sarkozy failed to make his pitch to voters in the debate

  217. Hugh says:

MD is right santorum really hurt the cause with women. He newt and palin are for their own purposes risk giving us 4 more years we may not recover from.

  218. Hugh says:

143 my gay brother in law is planning on voting for romney. He vote for o last time.

  219. Hugh says:

Md. It could be a blowout if debates go well. Could also be a close loss.

  220. Tim says:

Does he know who Romney fired this week, and why?

  221. Tim says:

    Yes, it does.
