Romney Leads By 7% in MO, GOP Leads McCaskill

Once again, Public Policy Polling and Scott Rasmussen are living in two different worlds. One week after PPP claimed Barack Obama was ahead in Missouri, Rasmussen comes out with a new poll showing Mitt Romney in the lead by 7%.

Mitt Romney (R) 49%
Barack Obama (D-inc) 42%

Two polls taken one week apart among supposedly the same exact population showing an eight percentage-point difference. Also in Missouri, Rasmussen is showing the Republican candidates with decent-sized leads over Democrat Claire McCaskill.

Sarah Steelman (R) 51%
Claire McCaskill (D-inc) 39%

John Brunner (R) 51%
Claire McCaskill (D-inc) 41%

Todd Akin (R) 50%
Claire McCaskill (D-inc) 42%

This poll was done June 7th among 500 likely voters.

June 17…Father’s Day…hope Bitter will get new socks.
July 4th….Independence Day…Start up the grill!
Sept. 3….Labor Day…end of summer for kids and teachers.(relief for parents)”

May 8 was ‘No Socks Day’…

that’s kind of like your labor day to us

May 9 was ‘Lost Socks Day’…

that’s kind of like your memorial day to us

I am looking forward to ‘Wiggle Your Toes’ day on August 6 next…

that’s kind of like your valentine’s day

Of course, the most dreaded holiday is Christmas… when the barbaric Christians engorge us with goodies and hang us to roast over the fireplace.

Here’s a scam that the teachers pull in my sister-in-law’s district. They start school with three 1/2 days starting the Wednesday before Labor Day. They get to count 3 days towards the magic number of 180 AND a 3 day week-end to ease the pain of having to go back to work. because they start early, they are out the first week of June. My town starts the Tuesday after Labor Day and will finish next Thursday

Did Bill Clinton Deliver a Coded Warning about Obama?

Very powerful Clintonian forces are crystallizing once more, and Mr. Obama is going to pay the price.
Therefore, even absent any other reason, it is reasonable to believe that Mr. Obama is ideologically dangerous for the same basic reason why he will lose in 2012, which is that Mr. Clinton is telegraphing that Mr. Obama is dangerous, and that he (Mr. Clinton) is therefore willing to negotiate with Republicans.

This will be a difficult 24 hours for me. Tonight. from 11:15 pm to 4:00 a.m. I am a chaperone for the Post Senior Prom party. At 1:00 p.m. on Saturday, I coach my last softball game. I have to find time to write a few words for all 13 players for when I present them with a game ball and thank them for the season.

Brandon – good luck. You need to either get to Ridgewood, New Jersey or Radnor, PA or Lower Merion, PA. On the other hand, the teachers in Neshaminy, PA went on strike this week and holding the graduating class hostage. The yhave the highest combined salary and benefits in PA and are in the middle of school performance.

bill clinton would love for obama to lose

a.) it leaves him as the senior democratic statesman. obama has basically sidelined him and if obama is a two-termer obamacare will likely be instituted … via scotus mandate after obama replaces several scotus judges … obama will forever be the democratic statesman …

but if obama loses, he will be disgraced

b.) it paves the way for hillary

  18. Bitterlaw says:

Brandon – your position is a harsh reality in the union world. Honestly, there has to be one lifer in the math department who retired 10 years ago but still shows up and costs through teaching (maybe a little harder in math than English but probably doable). You actually are young enough to care about teaching and you are on the street.

That being said, Clinton has definitely hurt Obama’s narrative on at least a couple of occasions recently. Bill was never a dummy… maybe he is becoming senile in hie old age, or maybe he realy is a little pi$$ed at what Obama has done to the party.

Of course the deadpan response…right here behind this desk…we have to WORK all summer unlike you.

  24. Bitterlaw says:

I just found this on the Neshaminy teachers.

the New York Daily News just found out that president obama is black. boy, are they pissed

There will be so many things to talk about with Obama vs. Romney from here to November, but the one that nobody will want to talk about very much in polite society, even in what has a chance to be the meanest presidential campaign for all times, is race.

It works against the President this time, in a big way.

Last time, there were just weren’t enough reasons for enough white voters to vote against the black guy, as much as they wanted to. This time there are plenty.

And please don’t believe a single poll on this issue.

If there is one great truth about polling in this country, at least when it comes to race, is that people lie through their teeth. Mostly because they don’t want to look like some lousy, scummy bigot — even talking to an anonymous voice on the telephone.

  43. MFG says:

  44. The Serpent says:

MFG – if the Phillies bullpen was at the game, 4-3 would turn to 7-4 with one swing.

  45. MFG says:

    My guess is they settle

I hope they settle, this litigation has the possibility of really seriously damaging the NFL

  46. Mr.Vito says:

  54. AuthorLMendez says:

Dave W, check this article out, it shows what a bunch of BS PPP is spewing for their boy Barrack:

  55. Bitterlaw says:

MFG – The players MAY have a case. However, they have to prove:

Duty – Did the NFL have to diclose info?

Breach – Did it not disclose the info if it had a duty?

Causation – Did failure to disclose cause an injury?

Injury – Was there an injury?

    Quick verdict from Judge Bitterlaw:

No duty. No requirement to disclose. The players would have to prove they would not have played if they knew the risk of concussions (nobody believes that since they already played knowing concussions are not good). Injury – maybe for a very few.

    Real world outcome:

Millions in legal fees. No money to players. Free medical care for NFL players for “monitoring” by neurologists (also making millions).

  56. MFG says:

Winning run on base ( I know none of you give a shiit but typing this stuff out makes me less nervous somehow)

  57. DrJay says:

    I care… sort of.

  58. MFG says:

Years ago they could have forestalled this by taking care of these older players from the 50;s and 60’s with medical care, higher pension etc

  74. DrJay says:

trivia… Woolridge was the last person to lead the Bulls in scoring pre-Jordan.

  75. Bitterlaw says:

MFG – Which side are you paying me to argue? I can argue both:

    A. Why do we have a duty to tell an adult who has a concussion that it is bad to have concussions? If a player eats steak and cheeseburgers at our team dining facility and on road trips, are you going to sue us when he has a heart attack cause his crappy diet killed him?

    B. The reason that the NFL knew of the risk of concussions was because it wanted to determine the risk..Once it knew the risk, it should have disclosed it.

Personally, I think the players’ weakest case in on causation and damages.

  81. MFG says:

    I dunno

Yes, concussions are bad but the general medical consensus before 5-10 years ago was that players recovered and that was that

But now the NFL knows or did know or SHOULD have known these injuries cause MUCH WORSE problems then previously thought

How could there NOT be a duty to disclose?

Of course I am approaching this from the fiduciary standard of an investment advisor which is certainly not applicable to this situation

  82. Marv says:

Now that Texas A&M is in the SEC West, LSU will finally have to have play a good team every year.

  83. MFG says:

I actually wanted Les Miles here MFG. I think he is a great coach and recruiter.
I also liked Rich Rodriguez and thought he got a raw deal here.

  87. MFG says:

If they start lawsuits like this against colleges and high schools the beginning of the end for football could be at hand

If assessed any liability high schools will drop the sport, then colleges, then where will the NFL future pros come from…???

Is this a tobacco type lawsuit situation…?!

  88. DrJay says:

    Aggies schedule:

    Thu, Aug 30 Louisiana Tech
    Sat, Sep 08 FLORIDA *
    Sat, Sep 15 SMU
    Sat, Sep 29 ARKANSAS *
Sat, Oct 06 Ole Miss *

    Sat, Oct 27 Auburn *
Sat, Nov 03 Mississippi State *
    Sat, Nov 10 Alabama *
    Sat, Nov 24 MISSOURI *

  89. sickofdems says:

From what i have learned though….Les was caught banging a few of the coaches wives when he was here before and that stopped him from being the head coach at Michigan.

  90. MFG says:

“Mitt Romney would collect at least 72 of the 110 electoral votes available in eight battleground states if President Barack Obama’s current polling numbers, as reported by The Huffington Post, are overstated by a mere one percent…

and if undecided voters there split evenly between Romney and Obama…

But if the undecided voters break for Romney by two-thirds, Romney would win all those states’ 110 votes, pushing him well above the 270 margin…

“It’s a good reminder that small shifts in votes can play a big role in electoral votes,” Trey Grayson, director of Harvard’s Institute of Politics, told The Daily Caller.”

  128. Emerica says:

Remember how BAD John McCain was in 2008 with his famous song bomb, bomb, bomb Iran.

  143. Yolanda says:

Boy, what a bad week for Obama. I’m expecting one of the following next week:

    1) An four-page, in-depth, investigative article in the NYT or the WaPo about Seamus Romney, and his “mysterious” death. “The Romneys, despite their considerable wealth, declined an autopsy, according to sources close to the likely exorbitantly expensive vet.”

    2) The Palooka County, Idaho Dogcatcher (a Republican) will say something racist, spurring a national news story about Obama’s “headwinds”

  144. Emerica says:

Paul didn’t want to run on either of those platforms.

Both the Libertarian and Constitution parties offered and tried to recruit Paul their nominations.

Virgil Goode has recently changed all of his former positions to those of Paul as well.

Remember how Team O made McCain choke in 2008 when he said the “fundamentals” of the economy were strong? Well, it’s payback time:

[F]ormer McCain aides, now, are relishing the moment.

“McCain was trying to calm people at a moment of real crisis — i think his intentions were good,” one former top aide said in an email. “Obama’s just trying to build support for raising taxes and make the case for his own stewardship.”

Another former McCain aide was blunter.

“We very much look forward watching Team Romney put Obama’s head in a vice over this,” he emailed “What goes around comes around, a*sholes.”

In the Fairmont/Clarksburg area they have pepperoni rolls that are good. Story is that the miners wives would pack these in their husbands lunch pails when they went into the mines. They kept well and did not have to be refrigerated.

Northern Panhandle has a lot of Italian flavor in their foods.

Richwood, WV has a ramp festival and lots of WV folks really enjoy their srping ramps. I do not like onions or ramps. They cook them up with eggs or with potatoes.

LIBERTY, Ky. – A central Kentucky man has been charged with 10 counts of first degree rape and 20 counts of first degree sodomy of someone incapable of consent.

Kentucky State Police say 62-year-old Michael E. Burt of Liberty had sex with an intellectually disabled woman at a group home between June 2011 and May 2012.

Galilean Children’s Home founder and director Jerry Tucker told The Advocate-Messenger the woman involved is now in her 30s, but has an intellectual capacity similar to that of a 7-year-old.

Tucker said Burt worked at the home for 22 years until he was fired last month for making inappropriate comments to residents.

Burt is being held at the Casey County Detention Center on a $100,000 cash bond. Jail records did not list an attorney for Burt.

Scientists to Hold Bake Sale for NASA Saturday

Scientists are trading telescopes for aprons this week to sell Milky Way cupcakes, Saturn cake, and chocolate chip Opportunity cookies in an effort to salvage U.S. planetary science projects.

The 2013 budget proposal submitted by the Obama administration earlier this year would cut funding for NASA’s planetary science projects by about $300 million. While Congress is still deliberating over the federal budget, groups of scientists are planning a series of demonstrations — in the form of bake sales, car washes and other events — for Saturday (June 9) to plead their case.

“It is indeed time for a serious national debate on the economy. Economic fundamentals can make or break a society. Economic growth is a matter of life or death. Millions of Americans are suffering.

Unfortunately, the two political parties do not offer very different approaches. The rhetoric varies, but even here the differences are overblown. Both sides preach “‘energy independence”’—which is doublespeak for energy isolationism. Both sides want health care guaranteed to patients with preexisting conditions, so long as customers are forced to buy private insurance.

Despite conventional wisdom, both sides even favor approximately the same fiscal policy. All that drama in last year’s ridiculous budget debate was over about 2 percent of the deficit. Whoever won or lost made no difference to America’s economic health five years down the line.

And consider monetary affairs. After the boom, bust, bailouts, and expansion of the Federal Reserve’s powers, the long-neglected mystery of monetary policy finally became a national issue. But both sides of the political elite favor the same approach to this crucial question, evidenced by Barack Obama’s reappointment of George W. Bush’s Fed chief, Ben Bernanke.

While Republicans emphasize tax cuts for some groups and increased defense spending, and Democrats stress tax cuts on other groups and increased social spending, both sides agree with the main premises of Keynesianism. The blogosphere erupted over Romney’s concession to a core principle of progressive economics:

If you take a trillion dollars for instance, out of the first year of the federal budget that would shrink GDP more than 5 percent. That is by definition throwing us into recession or depression. So I’m not going to do that, of course. What you do is you make adjustments on a basis that show, in the first year, actions that over time get you to a balanced budget.

Even those who agree with this must acknowledge that Americans will be deprived of anything approaching a deep discussion over economics in Romney’s exchanges with Obama. Lincoln-Douglas debates they will not be. Anyone who thinks something is radically wrong with the status quo has nowhere to turn.”

I have remained what others would consider underground. I did this in order to build a community of people, like-minded in their desire for freedom and the right to pursue their goals and lives without being manipulated and controlled by a media protected military industrial complex with a completely different agenda. Having put the lives and needs of other people before my own for multiple years, and having made hundreds of millions of dollars for certain institutions, under complex and sometimes severe circumstances, I began to require growth and more equitable treatment, but was met with resistance. I entered into my craft full of optimism (which I still possess), but immediately saw the suppressive force with which the system attempts to maintain it’s control over a given paradigm….

I conveyed all of this when questioned as to why I did not file taxes during this time period. Obviously, the danger I faced was not accepted as reasonable grounds for deferring my tax payments, as authorities, who despite being told all of this, still chose to pursue action against me, as opposed to finding an alternative solution.

My intention has always been to get this situation rectified. When I was working consistently without being affected by the interferences mentioned above, I filed and paid my taxes. This only stopped when it was necessary to withdraw from society, in order to guarantee the safety and well-being of myself and my family.

However I do wish now that we are in the campaign that he would drop the favorable and unfavorable number for Obama. The reason why is that Obama’s re-elect number is his approval number. Today that number is 45 — those are the folks who approve enough of Obama that they are willing to actually punch the card for him. All the rest are folks who aren’t willing to vote for him.

And everyone on this site knows that as far as Obama is concerned there is no real undecided. Everyone made up their mind about the President long ago — unless you live on Mars.

The point with Mitt is that the Tea Party Congress will control the agenda and Mitt will sign off on the Ryan budget, remove Obamacare, and appoint conservative justices. The really would be very little difference between Romney, Santorum, or Gingrich presidencies because all three will have to work with the House and the Senate.

I wonder…did WEC support Romney as the conservative alternative to McCain in 2008?

Kansas adopted a court-imposed map and became the final state to finish redistricting (the conservative and moderate factions of the Republican Party were unable to come to a concensus). The big change was that liberal Lawrence was moved from KS-03, the most vulnerable, into KS-02 (which was somewhat offset by moving Manhattan [Kansas State University] into the ultra red KS-01). Changes to CPVI:

    KS-01: R+23 to R+22
    KS-02: R+9 to R+7
    KS-03: R+3 to R+5
    KS-04: R+14 to R+15

However, he is streets ahead of Obama and this country cannot handle four more years.

  279. Diogenes says:

Romney is a businessman. He gets things done. The individual mandate properly applied and done at the state level can definitely help rein in costs. France for all its woes actually has a very similar system in place and they have among the best health outcomes in the world. Mandate catastrophic insurance and allow people to buy additional coverage on top of that and you get rid of emergency-room free riders while also allowing the marketplace to function.

Sadly, we probably can never implement such a system successfully in the US. There are simply too many ignorant Democrats and pandering politicians who would use government power to make a mandate to fund a bloated bureacracy and cram single-payer nonsense down our throats.

  280. Diogenes says:

This was the idea that Romney tried to implement and which failed because the Dems are full of incompetent imbeciles. There is a lot wrong with Obamacare. A federal mandate is just one of them but it is the single focal point of conservative attacks.

I bet good money, were it 1994, most conservatives would’ve supported a mandate. It was a plank in the alternative healthcare bill the GOP Congress pushed and which helped end Hilarycare.

They had an influence on me even until this day, but they never knew how they influenced me to dress well and to write well. Not one of us is perfect. We can find pluses and minuses in everyone. 306. janz says:

There are so many salient articles relating to President Obama’s comment on Friday, about the private sector.

Here’s another, Victor Davis Hanson’s superior article about Professor Obama’s take on the economy.

How odd is his diagnosis when Democrats themselves not long ago attacked George W. Bush’s “jobless recovery” of 5.4 percent unemployment and George H. W. Bush “it’s the economy stupid” of 3.4 percent GDP growth. Yet Obama’s problem was not just the absurdity of defining economic distress as too little borrowed federal money for insolvent states and municipalities, but his timing right after blue-state Wisconsin repudiated just that philosophy.
So we are in an interesting paradox: All empirical evidence points to the worldwide failure of the blue-state model (e.g., California, the southern Mediterranean, anti-Walker Wisconsin), and yet Barack Obama’s entire career, from community organizing, to the state legislature, to the Senate, was predicated on just such a protocol of public borrowing to provide expansive government entitlements and jobs in exchange for a loyal political constituency, with the debt, in redistributive fashion, to be serviced by wringing more revenue from the suspect private sector that is always doing “fine.”

And, it all started when you said something disparaging about me to another poster. That’s when I decide I was gonna have some fun with your musty ass.

You started it. Now, I’m gonna smack you and play head games with you, every chance I get.

    Deal with it, old man.

  372. addisonst says:

Dim Tim why don’t you focus on mandates and raising the top marginal tax rate to 70 percent? It will help you relax.

  373. jason says:

Tim plays a tough guy on blogs, always calling people out and saying he will beat somebody’s ass.

I bet in real life he is a wimp and wuss.

  374. Tim says:

I’m gonna defend myself, here. And, you can like it, or not. And, let us get one thing straight. It’s not “blogs”. This is the only place I’ve ever posted.

I don’t “play” anything. I am who I am. Tim is my real name. I don’t hard. If you want to find me, I’m not that difficult to locate.

You also feel free to believe anything you wish.

  375. Tim says:

Oops. I meant “hide” instead of “hard”

  376. lisab says:

funny you should mention 70%, that is the number used over at kos a lot

I think Obama should (continue the bush tax cuts), but only if the (0+ / 0-)

Republicans bow to a 70% tax rate for those making over $300,000 after one year.

Hope the President stands firm. If necessary, (5+ / 0-)

let 1/1/13 come and go with no extension. Then the new Congress can debate whether to reinstate the cuts for the “middle class.” Hopefully that will be less than the current $250K threshold. Have that debate in January and February, it doesn’t need to happen before them. And the President will always have a veto. (Note, I am taking for granted that Obama will still be President.) kossian

All is quiet on the WEST Va. front.

But I have been analyzing voter lists and comparing lists of newly registered voters to those voters who actually voted in the May primary.

Have looked at 4 of my 14 precincts so far.
Out of 378 newly registered voters in those 4 precincts since Nov., 2010 to May, 2012–how many do you think voted in the May primary?
    Answer: 17 out of 378.

  378. lisab says:

how many of the 378 were sober?

  379. TheRealSusyQue says:

#381…Good for you Tim. Continue to be who you are. This is a good blog. Dave W. owns this blog, the rest of us are just guests. All equal…

  381. Bitterlaw says:

Tim – In what ways should Obama be “more liberal?” Obviously, the consensus here is that he is too liberal but your perspective is interesting.

  382. Walt says:

    Sober? Irrelevant.

This district is a tough district for an R. It is now:

    D 44%
    R 28%
    I 28%
In the primary 2137 voted out of almost 12,000 RV.

    Actual voters were:

    996 D
    885 R
    249 NP and 7 “other”
*the NP and other can vote in either R or D primary if they chose
    899 votes–me
    914 votes–opponent

  383. Tim says:

Well, he shouldn’t have signed on to the extension of the Bush Tax cuts. No Liberal would be for that. No Liberal would cozy up to Wall Street and big corporations, the way he has.
While working people struggle, Big Business and the Rich have flourished, under this President. Reminds me of an extension of a GOP Administration. Certasinly, not the doings of a Liberal, or a Socialist.
And, this so-called takeover of Health Care? Boy, I wish that were the case! All that law is, to me, is a bonanza for insurance companies.

We don’t like Obama, Bitterlaw. It’s just for different reasons. And, I’d wager that there’s many out there like me who either won’t vote for him, or just don’t want to.

My vote goes to Hillary Clinton.

Now, you tell me something. Do you think Mitt Romney is a genuine Conservative?

  384. Tim says:

Bill Maher had Obama just right. If he is a Socialist, then he’s not a very good one.

  385. The Real SusyQue says:

What do historians really think of Obama?
    By Edward Klein

  386. jason says:

Well I don’t think the Heat will have 10 turnovers in the second half. Sloppy the first half.

  387. jason says:

” If he is a Socialist, then he’s not a very good one.”

Who is a good Socialist, pray tell….

  388. Bitterlaw says:

Genuine conservative? Not to the deadenders. My litmus tests are pretty simple- opposition to high taxes/regulation, strong defense, promise to support conservative judges. Social issues? Abortion will always be legal (would need to flip 2 justices just to send it back to the states). Romneycare? I don’t like it but the people in Mass did. Either you like state’s rights or you don’t.

  389. jason says:

” Do you think Mitt Romney is a genuine Conservative?”

Yes. Mitt is a real conservative. Always was.

Not by WEC’s standards, but Mitt is for a strong defense, free enterprise, free trade. He believes in the capitalist system and is pro-business. He supports Israel. He opposes amnesty for illegals. He favor energy independence through domestic production.

I could go on, but that’s conservative enough for me.

  390. jason says:

” Well, he shouldn’t have signed on to the extension of the Bush Tax cuts. No Liberal would be for that. No Liberal would cozy up to Wall Street and big corporations, the way he has.

    What a load of garbage.

The economy is stifled by over regulation and Obama’s anti-business practices and rhetoric. Business large and small have no incentive to grow or produce, and that is by design.

Obama has done everything possible to expand the public sector at the expense of the private sector.

Obamacare IS a government takeover of healthcare, the Democrats are not done yet, this is just the first step in their own words.

Cap and Trade and global warming are just excuses to tax and regulate businesses liberals don’t favor out of existence.

    Tim is living in lalaland.

  391. addisonst says:

Dim Tim why do you want to raise taxes on small business owners? That’s dim even by your usual standards.

  394. Tim V says:

I think cslling tim, “dim tim” is name calling. let’s debate the issues w.o resorting to name calling. im sure ssq would agree with me.

  395. addisonst says:

  396. Tim V says:

and just for the record, my “beat your chest” reference was a veiled reference to the self righteous pharasee that prayed and thanked God that he wasn’t like that bum over there, he thought he was better than eveyone else and looked down on people.

God is NOT a respecter of persons and he hates self righteous people that think they are “all that”

instead he seeks a broken and contrite heart, someone that knows he can’t make it on his own and cries out for God’s help.

  397. The Real SusyQue says:

#401…Tim V….I agree! It is not proper nor kind to call anyone dim.
No excuse when you call names. You might get away with it with your very close friends, but it’s a bad habit.

tim , seriously- in what country has socialism ever really worked and been beneficial for the people ?

  400. Tim V says:

  401. Tim V says:

  404. bio mom says:

There is nothing more offensive than the term working people. Ask the doctors who work 15 hour days. Ask the small business person who is on 24/7. Ask almost any professional , CEO, scientist, etc. etc. about what it means to work!

  405. Tim V says:

yeah. buchannon might be a bit of an anti-semite and even a touch prejudiced against minorities but he makes some good observations in this article

  406. addisonst says:

A bit of an anti semite? He makes bunu look like a bar mitvah boy. He’s human waste.

  407. Bitterlaw says:

I suspect that to Tim, only union members are “working people.”

  408. addisonst says:

He’s LeBron. And in the 4th quarter he buried the Celtic.

  409. Bitterlaw says:

But Add – the LeBron Haters said hecan’t win or finish a game. Of course, he has not won a championship. However, he was huge in winning the last 2 gmes. Tonight – 31 points 12 rebounds 2 assists. Zzzzzzzzzzzzzz

  410. Bitterlaw says:

    MFG to curse out James in 3. . . .2 . . . . 1 . . . .

  411. addisonst says:

Not me. Dim Tim fits and is fine with me.

  414. jason says:

“buchannon might be a bit of an anti-semite”

Buchanan is a raving anti-semite, so I really don’t care what else he writes about.

I don’t have to eat a whole egg to know its rotten.

  415. jason says:

I think the Thunder are favored, but they better show up to play.

LeBron seems to want this title.

  416. David Stern says:

Thank G-d. When the Heat were down 11 I could feel millions of viewera turning off their TVs. I was beginning to feel faint from the loss of ad revenue. Then, LeBron rescued me. The LeBron Haters will be back for 4 to 7 games!

  417. Bitterlaw says:

The Thunder should be favored. They are a strong team with a better bench. I predict Heat in 6 because it will make MFG’s head explode.

  418. jason says:

Tim has the usual liberal double standard/inferiority complex against the “rich”.

He doesn’t mind rich union fatcats or celebrities as long as they are liberals. I have yet to hear him complain about the Hollywood rich. People that made their money in business or investments, they are the enemy.

He resents wealth creators and regurgitates the class warfare crap so popular with moonbats.

    Dim is generous.

  419. jason says:

David, you are a sly bastard….

Tell us how much you are pulling down as NBA Commissioner?

Just so Tim can hate you too.

  420. Tim says:

Well, I certainly got this thread going, eh?

And, when I use the term “working people”, I am talking about blue collar workers, as opposed to white collar.

Everyone with a job works. Geez…….

How about Sweden? That’s just one. There are actually quite a few. They’re not totally socialist, of course. No country, to my knowledge, is.

There is some socialism in this country too, you know.

  421. Tim says:

    jason, you’re a dick……..

  422. jason says:

Heat in 5. Why just have MFG’s head explode? Let’s watch the entire LeBron hating crowd drink the Jim Jones Kool Aid recipe.

  423. Tim says:

Since I largely think what you are saying is nonsense, that makes you either:
    1. Wrong
    2. A liar

Which? That’s the only two choices you get.

  424. David Stern says:

I make millions every year! I couldn’t dunk a basketball if I stood on a ladder!

  425. Michael says:

Is there nothing more pathetic than a clueless lib like Tim?

  426. jason says:

Sweden? Are you kidding me? You need to get out more.

Sweden has been making market oriented reforms and the results are showing. Sweden’s socialist experience of the 70’s and 80’s is long gone.

You can read up a little and be better informed next time you say something stupid.

  427. Tim says:

    I’m clueless, Michael?

Well, why don’t you just show everyone here how clueless I am, then?

  428. jason says:

Tim you are really a dumbass. You have no ideas of your own and you come here to regurgitate garbage you read on other sites.

Why don’t you start thinking for yourself?

  429. jason says:

Tim is the nanny state you want making all decisions for you going to think for you too?

  430. Tim says:

Now jason, I can produce about 20 times that many links that say just the opposite. And, you know that. So, why even start?

Now, please stand down. I want Michael to show me how clueless I am.

  431. Tim says:

I don’t subscribe to that “nanny state” nonsense, jason. Quit with the silly talking points.

  432. Tim says:

I don’t think for myself, jason?

Now, since you don’t even know me, how did you arrive at a conclusion that would be impossible for you to arrive at?

  433. jason says:

” There is some socialism in this country too, you know.”

    LOL, you think?

No kidding. But not enough for you. You want the government to wipe your butt, tell you what to eat and drink and provide you with everything.

There is never going to be enough government for you, right Tim? You will always think of something else the government can give you by taxing someone “rich”.

  434. Tim says:

Where’d you go, Michael? I thought I was the one who was hit and run.

  435. Bitterlaw says:

Tim is not stupid. He is jealous. He thinks only union members are working people.

  436. Tim says:

Nope. I don’t believe that. I’m not for Big Government. Again, that is just talking points.

    Have you anything concrete?

  437. jason says:

    ” I don’t think for myself, jason?”

Doesn’t take much of a detective.

Your sophomoric attacks on the “rich” are taken straight out of the moonbat sites, where class warfare is always the theme of the day.

And your whining about the nanny state not being big enough is what MSNBC and most of the MSM talk about non-stop.

Face it Tim, you are a moron.

  438. jason says:

Have you read the articles I posted about Sweden? Maybe you can learn something more original and informative than what you read at DKos.

  439. Tim says:

See #427. I don’t think that, at all. Lots of working people are not union members. Most are not.

  440. sir Albert says:

  441. jason says:

” Now jason, I can produce about 20 times that many links that say just the opposite”

No you can’t. The fact that Sweden is moving away from socialism and towards a more market oriented economy is fact.

They have cut social spending in a big way. They have deregulated the airlines, telecommunications, utilities. They have moved to universal school vouchers, eliminated gift and inheritance taxes. Sold state owned enterprises. Partially privatized their pension system. Lowered taxes.

    These are facts.

  442. jason says:

“Since taking office in 2006, the center-right administration of Prime Minister Fredrik Reinfeldt has reduced income and corporate taxes, repealed a longstanding wealth tax, tightened unemployment and sick-leave benefits (which are still exceedingly generous), and privatized various state assets. On September 19, Reinfeldt became the first conservative premier in modern Swedish history to win reelection, though his government apparently fell just short of securing a parliamentary majority. The once-mighty Social Democratic party captured less than 31 percent of the vote, its worst performance in nearly a century. Meanwhile, the far-right Sweden Democrats (SD) — a populist-nationalist party critical of Muslim immigration — finally gained entrance into the Riksdag, picking up a remarkable 20 seats (out of 349) and virtually doubling its vote share from 2006.”

he World Economic Forum now ranks Sweden as the second-most competitive economy on earth, behind only Switzerland. According to the 2010 Index of Economic Freedom (compiled by the Wall Street Journal and the Heritage Foundation), Sweden offers greater business freedom, trade freedom, monetary freedom, investment freedom, financial freedom, freedom from corruption, and property-rights protection than does the United States.

  443. sir Albert says:

I have a new thing. It’s simple. I’d like you to join me. It’s basically this: whenever you read a ridiculous coulumn byu a lib, and at the end of the article it leaves their e-mail address, simply respond with “Huh?”

    It’s easy.

  444. jason says:

So go ahead and send me articles saying that no, Sweden is heading further into the nanny state direction and are not implementing free market reforms.

Waiting for the 20 articles that say that.

  445. Tim says:

I never go to Kos. Again, you just have no idea about me.

You keep saying I’m a moron. But, every time you start, you make no headway with me. Why not? Aren’t you smart enough? I thought your boy Limbaugh said that Conservatives are cerebral.

You don’t impress me, at all. A lot better peole than you have tried me out.

  446. jason says:

Tim thinks Obamacare is not socialist enough but he isn’t for big government or the nanny state.

  447. jason says:

” You don’t impress me, at all. A lot better peole than you have tried me out.”

You would be difficult to impress, I agree, but I don’t know why anyone would waste their time.

You have absorbed a few left wing concepts you repeat over and over, but you couldn’t win a political argument against a three year old.

  448. Bitterlaw says:

Tim – Define “working person. I define it as person who ipaid for doing a job or providing a service . Landscapers, surgeons, lawyers, teachers, brokers, welders, plumbers, etc. I also define working people as the owners and/or executives of those businesses. Where am I wrong?

  462. The Real SusyQue says:

Did Bill Clinton Deliver a Coded Warning about Obama?

Reasonable people will agree that Mr. Obama came out of nowhere and ascended to power. Mrs. Clinton was swept aside by a perfect storm whose elements included Bush fatigue and the release, by MSM forces, of a hitherto mostly latent cultural psychosis.
Once Mr. Obama thusly achieved power, he exercised it impetuously and impudently, thereby jeopardizing the future of his party.
