Dead Heat in Two-Way, Three-Way Races in VA
We are nine days into 2013 and we already have our first poll conflict of the year. Yesterday, Public Policy Polling claimed terry McAuliffe held a 5% lead in a two-way race and an 8% lead in a three-way race. This morning, Quinnipiac University shows a much closer race in both cases.

This poll was done January 4-7 among 1134 registered voters. This is the second poll showing Bolling well behind both Cuccinelli and McAuliffe which starts to beg the question about the polling Bolling was bragging about in his statements last week claiming he was encouraged about. Bolling’s problem appears to be that even after seven years of being a Lt. Governor, nobody even knows who he is. In this poll, 72% of REPUBLICANS haven;t heard enough about him to have an opinion. Pretty pathetic if you ask me.

Cutting is a dark trend that’s suddenly making its way into the limelight. Indeed, the #CutForBieberand #Cut4Bieber hashtags have been trending on Twitter, a social media platform of choice for teens.
After rumors surfaced that pop star Justin Bieberwas smoking weed, members of a message board known as 4chan decided to launch the #Cu
photos of cutters and the #CutForBieber hashtag.
“Lets start a cut yourself for bieber campaign,” an anonymous user wrote on the message board. “Tweet a bunch of pics of people cutting themselves and claim we did it because bieber was smoking weed. See if we can get some little girls to cut themselves.”
The campaign went viral and is now making headlines.

I agree that Bolling can only be a spiler and cannot win, but I base that on the history of the VA electorate (if Coleman couldn’t peel off enough Republicans to come close to winning the 1994 Senate race despite a far more polarizing GOP nominee (Ollie North), Bolling doesn’t stand a chance), not on polls from 10 months prior to the election. But these early polls might be useful in convincing potential Bolling supporters who were fantasizing about a 35% Bolling victory in a three-way race that Bolling can’t win, and the lack of support that will follow might discourage Bolling from running.
Today, I am, along with a vast majority of my fellow citizens, being made the scapegoat for the failed policies of the so-called progressives — whether it is the inability of society to deal with extreme psychopaths or the mentally deranged, because the left insists they are entitled to the same rights as other citizens, or the never-ending attempt to rehabilitate criminals incapable of rehabilitation. Consistent with their inability to ever admit a mistake, the left and much of the Democratic Party instead focuses on symbolism over substance and the path of least resistance — going after the law-abiding hard working people who are the backbone of America.
But the motivation is more insidious than that. Those that self-identify as progressives, leftists, socialists or Marxists, have one overwhelming trait in common: they are narcissists who believe they are pre-ordained to rule the masses too ignorant to govern themselves. Over the past thirty years as these extremists fully infiltrated academia, the mainstream media, the entertainment industry and taken over the Democratic Party, the American people have lost many of their individual rights. They are now being told what they can eat, where they can live, who they must associate with, where and how their children must be educated, and soon what medical care they are allowed to access, as well as the type of car they can drive and the amount of energy they are permitted to use.
The last bastion of freedom is unfettered gun ownership, so that too must go. That the left is willfully and egregiously exploiting the actions of a deranged psychopath in the tragic death of 26 people (20 children) in Newtown, Connecticut to achieve this end exposes their true motivation.

12- Good example- we all know Detroit is a public policy disaster and a slaughterhouse in places. People there often HAVE to defend themselves. There were 25 justifiable homicides in Detroit last year, only three of those were by police officers. The rest, presumably, by citizens. It’s actually more frequent than you’d think- particularly as often times no one is hurt and the criminal flees.

I have heard no person, conservative, Republican, wacko, NRA memeber, etc call for MANDATING OWNERSHIP OF A GUN. What I have heard are calls for citizens, who are willing to take on the responsibility of carrying a concealed weapon to help defend innocent people, be allowed to go through the intense training and background checks to get that Concealed Carry permit.

21- Part of it is the registered voters poll- 65% turnout or so for the Presidency , they’ll be lucky to hit 50% for the governorship election. A fair number of the “no opinion” voters in that poll won’t show up and don’t intend on doing so.

Actually that happened to me in Texas about 15 years ago.
I flipped off some dude and I noticed he followed me all the way home. I pulled into the parking lot and took my gun out the glove compartment and put it in my jacket pocket.
He pulled in next to me and it turned out he just wanted to argue about me flipping him off but he didn’t get physical. I ended up apologizing and we shook hands.
However, I would have been scared sh-tless if I didn’t have the gun.

I added that remark because it has been explained here many times, that Shakespeare actually looked at lawyers as necessary to protect people from tyranny. Which is the same reason why I would think that you would fight for citizens who WANTED to own guns, even though you yourself don’t want to (note: The only gun I have ever shot was an airgun. I once held a cop friend’s 9mm, but it had no ammo in it). You seem to have no problem dismissing those who LIKE the 2nd Amendment as not worthy of protection from zealots like Feinstein, Obama, Cuomo, etc (most of whom have either armed guards defending them, or have permits to carry a weapon).

Rand Paul stated some good reasons to try to lessen Israel’s dependence on the US, and considering Bibi’s statements alluded to, why is foreign aid reductions NOT worthy of discussion? Three people are dead in an apparent ‘bow and arrow’ attack at a community college in Wyoming’s second-largest city, according to NBC television station KWCY.
The television station reports the attack happened inside a building on the campus of Casper College around 9:00 a.m. mountain time.
The dead include a person of “student-age” and faculty member. Authorities also found another body off campus.

Overall I like the list of nominees better then last year but Leo deserved a nom for his portrayal of Calvin Candie in Django Unchained.
