I was hoping for more from this new polling organization Harper Polling, but it appears they are finished with their releases for their poll in Pennsylvania and did not include what we care most about here – election polls. They did tell us what us what convenience store was the favorite among PA voters. I know they are new And far be it from me to criticize something being provided for free, but it would be great if Harper Polling, in the future, includes a question on the elections within a state when they make the effort to poll a state in the future.
The biggest election news I probably missed yesterday involved the retirement of a US Senator that has been around forever and it was not Frank Lautenberg. Apparently, Lautenberg is still claiming he is NOT retiring….
Meanwhile, David Gregory will be not be charged for a clear violating the law showing how unserious people who yell gun control really are. It would almost be like the figurehead of the global warming movement selling off his TV network to a country whose economy is almost entirely based on oil…oh wait, never mind….

In the first half the Ravens got two TD’s from bad calls. They got a huge third down conversion in the second half that the commentators clearly said the receiver didn’t have control of the ball, yet time and time again the rulings were against whatever we saw on TV.

Tetras are boring although I do think cardinal tetras are pretty striking.
I stick with black skirt and penguin tetras when I keep them along with some dwarf neon rainbows or australian rainbows.
They’re less sensitive to water quality than are neons and cardinals. I just don’t have the patience to keep water quality at that level.

I graduated high school and made it half way through college and I cannot say that my opinion piece reflects my experience.
I absolutely believe students should be thought how to think (as in how to become critical thinkers) rather than to just accept the “facts” they are given by their teachers.
As a board member, the closest I’ve gotten to interfering with curriculum was the book issue (which was resolved in my favour). I do not believe board members should, as a general rule, interefere with the curriculum. That is generally “above our paygrade” and a lot of it is predetermined by state and federal requirements.
I don’t want students indoctrinated to hold any viewpoints at all. I favour a socratic teaching method where everything is questioned so questioning authority becomes the norm.
I may not have children in the district but I talk to many parents who do. When they have concerns, I listen to them, which is a lot more than they get from most other board members (my running mate who also won being the exception).
I’ve literally hated the Packers since the first Superbowl I remember watching (Patriots vs. Packers).
As I recall, the Patriots won that game. That was before they became cheaters.

I am not for slavery. However, the Constitution did give states the right to secede. That is clear. Further, the practice of slavery would have stopped the very second that France and the UK stopped buying the products produced from slave labor.

Sorry – a study was done and ONLY 820,000 died. How wonderful. I don’t eviscerate Lincoln for making the decision he did but he did NOT do it just for slavery. He flat out said that he did not want to interfere with slavery where it existed in his debates with Douglas. The argument was over extending slavery to the new territories and states. The south felt as though they were being squeezed and were not ready to give up what they called the “peculiar institution”. Further, Lincoln also negotiated with the border states on an extension of slavery. The Emancipation Proclamation did NOT free the slaves in border states who were loyal to the Union:
