Random Saturday Thoughts

I was hoping for more from this new polling organization Harper Polling, but it appears they are finished with their releases for their poll in Pennsylvania and did not include what we care most about here – election polls. They did tell us what us what convenience store was the favorite among PA voters. I know they are new And far be it from me to criticize something being provided for free, but it would be great if Harper Polling, in the future, includes a question on the elections within a state when they make the effort to poll a state in the future.

The biggest election news I probably missed yesterday involved the retirement of a US Senator that has been around forever and it was not Frank Lautenberg. Apparently, Lautenberg is still claiming he is NOT retiring….

Meanwhile, David Gregory will be not be charged for a clear violating the law showing how unserious people who yell gun control really are. It would almost be like the figurehead of the global warming movement selling off his TV network to a country whose economy is almost entirely based on oil…oh wait, never mind….

Lance Armstrong…scumbag….

On a bright note, this seems like a good thing….

Ravnes/Broncos at 4:30, so you’ll know where my priorities are today….

    A happy moderate conservative weekend!

Re Gregory, selective enforcement of DC’s current gun laws should undermine the liberal mania for more regulation – although it’s hard to muster any confidence in that weeping willow who is the Speaker of the House…

On far more important matters, Denver will meet Green Bay in the SB w/ Manning winning his second ring to tie his kid brother…then Peyton will pull an Elway and retire on top!

    Christie/Martinez ’16!

  4. MD (IP - Akin and Mourdock Will Win!) says:

A nice 5 mile run this morning. A bit damp but warm. Did it outside with some vicious hills. Felt great. Physically, I feel like a new man since giving up the Grey Goose!

I know, I know…MD without the Grey Goose is NOT the same MD. Sorry, couldn’t continue down that path.

  5. MD (IP - Akin and Mourdock Will Win!) says:

That was not Chek in the last thread. Just re-read some of the posts. The way that poster used some slang was absolutely not the way she posted. Further, I don’t think Dave ever banned her.

  6. MD (IP - Akin and Mourdock Will Win!) says:

I agree with accelerating the pull out from Afghanistan. 11+ years is more than enough and Karzai can kiss my butt. It will cost more money over the short run but in the long run, I wish we would take the savings and put it towards the deficit. We won’t do that though. Have to pay for all the goodies.

  7. Bitterlaw says:

The Goose-sodden MD was great but we still appreciate the little bastard.

  8. Walt, HHR Senator, formerly known as Delegate says:

Nate Silver at 538 has made his statistical prediction of who will win the super bowl.
    ***********
He says Obama will win 53% to 47%.

  9. Bitterlaw says:

I deffinitely need to see Lincoln. It would be the first time I saw 3 movies up for Best Picture since I had children. It would also be awesome to see some good raw Federal power sticking it to the mf-er slaveowners.

  10. Michael (Christie For Governor) says:

Governor Bitterlaw, what are you going to do about Rockefeller Republican?

    Second good morning.

  11. Bitterlaw says:

Mchael – I will type GFY to him. It will will be followed up with another GFY by Lt. Governor jason. After that, I’m done. I have always supported a free and open HHR – even for the people that annoy me. The Wizard of Hog runs the show and we all must answer to him for our comments.*

*Damn it, Dave. Wen are you going to give Bunu’s IP address to the Mossad? Let them rid us of this scourge.

  12. Michael (Christie For Governor) says:

Bitterlaw, I may be a moderate but Rocky is not even a republican I feel that he should be treated as such

  13. Bitterlaw says:

Sheetz stores suck. WaWa is awesome. Every Sheetz store I have ever visited is like a slightly cleaner 7-11.

  14. Brandon says:

I heard WaWa is now expanding to North Jersey as well, and there will now be a Mahwah WaWa(best name ever).

  15. Michael (Christie For Governor) says:

Four special elections occur in Georgia on the 8th

    All won by Republicans

    http://results.enr.clarityelections.com/GA/45104/114565/en/summary.html

  16. Michael (Christie For Governor) says:

Republicans also win the speical election for State Senate district 4 in California.

  17. Bitterlaw says:

Totowa and Rahhway WaWas would be cool, too. Ho-Ho-Kus WaWa? Dare to dream.

  18. Rockefeller Republican says:

#12, your post is without foundation, little one.. The record shows I was a steadfast supporter of Mitt. Now go back to the children’s table and don’t speak again until you do the necessary research to proffer cogent commentary.

    Christie/Martinez ’16!

  19. Bitterlaw says:

Nelson Rockefeller was a lib. That bursts the alleged moderate conservative Rocky’s bubble.

  20. lisab says:

    out of curiosity

why can’t you drink vodka and run?

  21. lisab says:

I drink merlot and do yoga

  22. Bitterlaw says:

    You might spill the vodka,

  23. MD (IP - Akin and Mourdock Will Win!) says:

Lisa – I was having 4 to 6 glasses (on the rocks) every night.

That is no good. Now a few light beers and maybe a glass or 2 of wine per week. Had 1 beer last night. Hard to run when you are hung over.

  24. MD (IP - Akin and Mourdock Will Win!) says:

    Lisa

You drink Merlot? That explains a lot.

  25. Michael (Christie for Governor) says:

Rocky don’t treat me like a child it makes me think that your….

  26. jason says:

    Hey Rockefeller Troll.

    GFY.

    Not moderately.

  27. Bitterlaw says:

Michael – Legally, you are a child. On your 18th party, we go off on you full bore. Sorry. It is the Hedgehog way.

  28. Bitterlaw says:

18th birthday. We don’t do general parties.

  29. jason says:

Hey MD, this is not rocket science.

You would expect an atheist vegetarian socialist to drink Merlot.

If you don’t know anything about the real world, why would you know anything about wine?

  30. Bitterlaw says:

We also had to lay off the Philly A-hole bartender since MD gave up the Goose.

  31. jason says:

Has Michael been apprised of the HHR adult initiation rites?

Maybe we should tell him now so he can start saving some money.

  32. Bitterlaw says:

why would you know anything about wine?

Unless you are a chick, why would you know anything about wine?

  33. Bitterlaw says:

31 – jason – About the rites, I need to review the law in Pennsylvania. Some of them might be 2d degree misdemeanors. The goat? That may be a felony now.

  34. jason says:

Yeah, Kim’s workload dropped 50% after MD stopped ordering martinis….

  35. jason says:

    33. That’s why we have lawyers, to get around such things. It’s all in the wording. Don’t call it a goat, call it “making friends with animals” or something like that.

  36. jason says:

” If you don’t know anything about the real world, why would you know anything about wine?”

It sounds like Bitter thinks red wine is made from red grapes and white whine is made from white grapes.

  37. jason says:

Dem Senator Mark Begich: I’m “not interested” in a new assault-weapons ban”

Translation: “I intend to run for re-election”

  38. Bitterlaw says:

I don’t care how wine is made for the same reason I don’t care how (fill in gay product) is made. I don’t use either.

  39. Bitterlaw says:

The goat rite has been replaced with the “animal-aided baselinr prostate screening.”

  40. Michael (Christie for Governor) says:

Don’t care what you say to me the rest of my life. I will live. I will tell you the month to prepare but I will keep the day a surprise until the day

  41. Michael (Christie for Governor) says:

  42. Walt, HHR Senator, formerly known as Delegate says:

    DRUDGE

Obama to swear in on Lincoln Bible…

    Well why not–gotta use somebody’s.
A frantic search of his own possessions has discovered that Obammer does not own any copies of the Bible.

  43. jason says:

“Embattled St. George businessman Jeremy Johnson says new Utah Attorney General John Swallow helped broker a deal in 2010 in which Johnson believed he was to pay Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid $600,000 to make a federal investigation into Johnson’s company go away.”

  44. Walt, HHR Senator, formerly known as Delegate says:

‘Heavyset’ woman plunges through concrete sidewalk; Rescued by crane…

  45. jason says:

” Don’t care what you say to me the rest of my life. I will live.”

Do we have a shrink in the house?

    Could be an emergency.

  46. jason says:

Is that the politically correct term?

I guess fat as a house would not be ok.

  47. Michael (Christie for Governor) says:

Walt how is the run for congress going?

  48. jason says:

As one who defended Lance Armstrong vehemently because he passed 500 drug tests and was being accused by a bunch of dopers and losers, I will be disappointed if he admits to doping.

Really disappointed. Like if Bitter found out Kate Upton’s tits were plastic.

  49. Michael (Christie for Governor) says:

Jason Upton is higher on the list

  50. jason says:

Am I nervous about the Broncos game?

Probably as nervous as Dave W.

Thankfully I am not on any wagon like MD and can partake liberally to steady my nerves.

  51. Emerica says:

    I think Lance dopes.

I also think the news stories about him going on public apology tour are baseless most likely.

  52. jason says:

I know Author is busy with chores, but where is everyone else?

  53. jason says:

It would be great if he built up a huge audience on Oprah to hear him confess and then said “sorry, but I am not a doper”.

But maybe he has decided for financial reasons it’s best to confess than not to.

  54. MD (IP - Akin and Mourdock Will Win!) says:

jason – he is going to admit it. Now, he won some lawsuits against others who contended that he was doping. If I were those people, I would sue to get my money back.

It was overly obvious to me that he was a doper just like Clemens, Sosa and Bonds.

  55. MD (IP - Akin and Mourdock Will Win!) says:

53 – From what I have seen, he is doing it to save the livestrong charity which has done a ton of good and is now tainted because of him. The charity really has done good stuff and should not suffer.

  56. Mr.Vito says:

“We also had to lay off the Philly A-hole bartender since MD gave up the Goose.”

    MD “lays off” the bartender

    http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=coD7x1-4h9U

  57. Michael (Christie For Governor) says:

@Politics1com: NJ: NBC says US Sen Frank Lautenberg (D) will announce 2014 retirement. Philadelphia Inquirer says retirement claim is untrue. Stay tuned.

  58. Emerica says:

He has too much invested and too much emotional attachment in those wins to admit he cheated.

  59. MD (IP - Akin and Mourdock Will Win!) says:

    56

So predictable. You are better than this.

  60. jason says:

” Now, he won some lawsuits against others who contended that he was doping. If I were those people, I would sue to get my money back. ”

Well Bitter is our jailhouse lawyer, but I think cases are decided on their merits at the time, and unless he confesses specifically to whatever those accusers alleged they might not have a case.

Something like you get acquitted of a murder and then it turns out you ARE a serial killer, just not THAT killer.

  61. MD (IP - Akin and Mourdock Will Win!) says:

A bigger piece of shi+ would be harder to find. Well, except for Bunu.

  62. jason says:

Speaking of pieces of sh-t, the way, what happened to Tulipomaniac, I see we are back to Emerica.

  63. jason says:

Maybe Lance can explain how he faked his way through 500 drug tests….

    Might help catch others…

  64. jason says:

‘ Philadelphia Inquirer says retirement claim is untrue. ”

    It’s probably true.

  65. jason says:

Bitter, you may be right about the goat rites…

In Delaware a woman was arrested for having sex with a dog. No, not COD.

How would you like to have your picture on the WEB with the caption.
“Police say Samantha L. Golt had sex with a dog”.

There are pictures. The trial will be a 3 ring circus.

  66. Waingro says:

    Manning Face!!

  67. Michael (Christie for Governor) says:

    Jason that is disgusting

  68. Bitterlaw says:

Really disappointed. Like if Bitter found out Kate Upton’s tits were plastic.

    Comment by jason

WTF! They are real. I have studied the way they move and bounce. Do not kill my dream.

  69. Bitterlaw says:

60.” Now, he won some lawsuits against others who contended that he was doping. If I were those people, I would sue to get my money back. ”

Well, the appeal period ran and would only be a Motion to set aside the verdict. Also, if Armstrong won a case against Person A and only admitted to doping on a differenct occasion, Person A would have no recourse.

I was doing an analogy, not a statement of fact.

But it proves my point, the disappointment would be horrific.

@76 I feel sorry for the rats that he keeps as pets.

  77. JulStol says:

“It is “none of our business” whether Israel builds new neighborhoods in east Jerusalem or withdraws from the Golan Heights, and the US should not tell Israel how to defend itself, US Senator Rand Paul (R-Kentucky) said Saturday”

    http://www.jpost.com/DiplomacyAndPolitics/Article.aspx?id=299363

Proof that on Israel, Rand aint a crazy mfing anti Semite like his father.

  78. Michael (Christie For Governor) says:

The US has every right to advise Israel on how to use its weapons because many of them come from the US! You idiot

  79. JulStol says:

My advice to them would be to use their weapons to nuke Iran and wipe the Palestinian terror state off the map, but that’s just me.

  80. Michael (Christie For Governor) says:

I am not going to comment on that Jul, I just don’t see that approach as a positive way of solving these issues.

  81. JulStol says:

The “issue” is never going to be solved until either Israel or the Palestinians cease to exist.

I’ve been to Israel. I have prayed at the Western Wall, visited the Temple Mount, and fished in the Sea of Galilee.

The Jewish People preserve and revere the Holy Land.

The Muslim Defilers would ruin all that Christians hold sacred.

  82. Corey says:

How did you finance that? Just wondering.

  83. JulStol says:

    Corey,

Went with my parents. It was years ago, but I still remember.

It was for a Bat Mitzvah for a family friend. 2 week bus trip all around Israel.

    Beautiful.

  84. jason says:

Rand Paul is just another garden variety anti-semite like his father. Let’s call it for what it is and stop making excuses just because he is a “conservative”.

  85. jason says:

Ok, officials give the Ravens another touchdown. That’s 4.

  86. JulStol says:

“Rand Paul is just another garden variety anti-semite like his father.”

    Prove it.

  87. Brandon says:

Tim Tebow wouldn’t have fumbled twice.

  88. Brandon says:

I mean turn it over twice.

  89. Bitterlaw says:

Tebow wouldnn’t have 35 points, either.

  90. jason says:

    “Prove it”

Preponderance of the evidence. I have been hearing since Rand Paul was elected how he is really not like his father.

Well, same statements, same priorities. An absolute clone.

Obama is implementing socialism and all Rand Paul can worry about is aid to Israel?

    Puhlleeaaase…..

  91. JulStol says:

“Well, same statements, same priorities. An absolute clone.

Obama is implementing socialism and all Rand Paul can worry about is aid to Israel?”

    False.

“The biggest threat to our nation right now is our debt,” said Paul, adding that a bankrupt America would not be a good ally for Israel. “This does mean that we have to reassess who to give aid to, and when we do reassess that, I would begin with countries that are burning our flag and chanting ‘Death to America.’ No one is accusing Israel of that.”

  92. bio mom says:

    Go Joe Flacco!!!!

  93. jason says:

Officials determined to give the win to the Ravens. No way that was a catch.

  94. jason says:

Hitler probably said he wasn’t an anti-semite either.

    Actions speak louder than words.

  95. Michael (Christie For Governor) says:

@92 you idiot, he then goes on to use a statement from 1993, something that most would consider not a real valuable source considering from 20 years ago. That was before I was even born Jul, Paul is stupid.

20 years ago that statement was made, the world has changed, the Middle East is more volatile, economies are different. The man is a Paulbot using information that is invalid to this time.

I am sorry, Jul your wrong

  96. Michael (Christie For Governor) says:

    Go Ravens!!!

Dave I think your team is gonna win tonight!

(Be clear I am a panthers fan though)

  97. bio mom says:

94 A catch all the way!!

  98. Bitterlaw says:

From Trump to Paulbot in less than a year. Jul fascinates me.

  99. Michael (Christie For Governor) says:

@99 I don’t find the Paulbot fascinating, its in his blood. He would have been out their supporting Jimmy Carter if he had an R in front of him and then would have claiming he is more “conservative” than Romney

  100. JulStol says:

    Bitter,

I supported Rand Paul in 2010, too. I said he wasn’t his father then and I stand by it now.

  101. Bitterlaw says:

Broncos’ fan says no catch on Ravens possession. Ravens’ fan says catch. Stunning.

  102. JulStol says:

    “Actions speak louder than words.”
    -Jason

Rand Paul met with Bibi Netanyahu and Shimon Peres as well. I doubt his father has ever legitimized the Israel state in a decades long career in the same way Rand has 2 years into his first term.

  103. JulStol says:

Wow, I believe Michael just accused me of being a Nazi.

    “It’s in his blood”

  104. Bitterlaw says:

Until Rand says, “My father is a crazy, Jew-hating kook,” I will not trust him.

  105. JulStol says:

“Until Rand says, “My father is a crazy, Jew-hating kook,” I will not trust him.”
    -Bitterlaw

So endorsing His Mittness before his father ended his Presidential bid wasn’t enough for you?

  106. Michael (Christie For Governor) says:

@104 I accused you and I am correct for stating tht you are a Paulbot, you are the one that are bring those other accusations into question all of the sudden.

  107. Bitterlaw says:

No, Jul. It was probably Ron’s idea to set up Rand for 2016.

  108. JulStol says:

    Mr. Strawman,

How the hell can you accuse me of being a “Paulbot” because it’s “in my blood”?

At least I have evidence as a result of your support for Marxist progressive taxation as grounds for saying you’re a Russian Communist.

  109. JulStol says:

“No, Jul. It was probably Ron’s idea to set up Rand for 2016.”

Apparently you don’t know any REAL Paulbots.

They were apoplectic over Rand’s “betrayal.”

  110. Michael (Christie For Governor) says:

How dare you! I am not sure I want to call you out for what you just said!

I am a Russian, I was adopted. I was brought to America. and I am a Republican. How can I possibly like communism? Good gosh.

  111. JulStol says:

“How can I possibly like communism?”

You support taxes on the rich and only believe the Government is capable of funding space exploration.

  112. Bitterlaw says:

Apparently, you don’t know Ron Paul. Lying hypocrite who claimed to be opposed to deficits AND collecting huge pork for his district.

  113. JulStol says:

“collecting huge pork for his district.”

And he was wrong. That’s why I never supported him for President (I did vote for him in the 08 primary, however out of protest against McCain).

  114. Michael (Christie For Governor) says:

@113 Bitter, is it okay for people to just call out others with their last names? Just wondering on the blog not in the real world

  115. Bitterlaw says:

Jul voted for Ron Paul as a protest. Does anybody give a crap about your protests, Jul?

  116. jason says:

” So endorsing His Mittness before his father ended his Presidential bid wasn’t enough for you?”

That was an obvious ploy because he could never justify not supporting Romney.

    Let’s get real here.

You need to come up with a better argument than that.

  117. jason says:

    Denver lost to the officials.

    Good game, almost beat them.

  118. Michael (Christie For Governor) says:

    @116 drunk college women do.

  119. jason says:

” supported Rand Paul in 2010, too. I said he wasn’t his father then and I stand by it now.”

    He isn’t his father.

He just holds the same views.

  120. jason says:

When is Rand Paul is ready to disavow his father’s anti-semitism, denounces his racist newsletters, and says something about his father being one of the biggest porkers in Congress?

All I hear from him is that he and his father “are pretty close in their views”.

  121. JulStol says:

“oes anybody give a crap about your protests, Jul?”

Mitt Romney lost in November by fewer votes than Ron Paul received in the Primaries.

    Just something to think about.

  122. Michael (Christie For Governor) says:

Bitter, are you typing up a response?

  123. jason says:

“they were apoplectic over Rand’s “betrayal.”

Ask Bunu who he is supporting.

There is your answer on how apoplectic he is.

  124. Michael (Christie For Governor) says:

Jul and Paul would have lost by more votes than all of the primary voters votes combined.

  125. Bitterlaw says:

I only watched OT. Blaming the officials when a team gives up 38 points? I will have to read about the game.

  126. Bitterlaw says:

The Ravens are 5th on my hate list. Denver is 30th. Of course the Ravens won.

  127. jason says:

” Mitt Romney lost in November by fewer votes than Ron Paul received in the Primaries. Something to think about”.

Yeah, what I think is that Paulbots didn’t vote for Romney and thus elected Obama. They are morons because Obama will continue to trample on the rights of conservatives and will appoint a SCOTUS that will ensure the Democrats have power forever.

But the solution is not to vote for more Paulbot morons.

  128. JulStol says:

Ron Paul was “pretty close” to being spot on in his views.

The FED needs to be audited and preferably abolished

We need to return to sound money policy

The Federal Government needs to be slashed back to its Constitutional limits.

He was wrong on the War on Drugs and wrong on foreign policy. That’s about it.

If Rand publically disavowed his father, I’d lose a lot of respect for him.

    “Honor thy parents…”

You don’t have to agree with everything he did to honor some of the courageous stands Ron Paul made in congress.

I’m glad he’ll never be President but we could use more Congressmen like him.

  129. JulStol says:

    Jason,

A LOT of the Paulbots (and Tea Partiers in general, for that matter) believe that the quicker the Country collapses, the quicker we can do what needs done to fix it.

    They may not be wrong.

  130. Michael (Christie For Governor) says:

Bitter I was talking about 115

  131. jason says:

” I only watched OT. Blaming the officials when a team gives up 38 points? I will have to read about the game.”

In the first half the Ravens got two TD’s from bad calls. They got a huge third down conversion in the second half that the commentators clearly said the receiver didn’t have control of the ball, yet time and time again the rulings were against whatever we saw on TV.

It’s easy to get 38 points when the officials give you 21.

  132. bio mom says:

    118

Really a pathetic response. Denver was supposed to cream the Ravens. Whining about officials and such is silly. Ravens won because Joe Flacco played great. Not so much the saintly Peyton Manning (whomI actually do like by the way).

  133. JulStol says:

I hate the Ravens but the Broncos got what was coming to them for trading a man of God like Tebow.

  134. bio mom says:

    132

    Stop whining. Very immature.

  135. jason says:

The Ravens won because they got at least 3 TDs from bad calls.

Look at the game. Every time the commentators said the review would show a clear outcome it went the other way. They even said it.

Denver was ripped off big time.

  136. Michael (Christie For Governor) says:

Jul knows nothing about supports Bio Mom, remember that.

How are you bio mom, it has been awhile?

  137. jason says:

Hey Biomom, do me a favor.

    GFY.

  138. Brandon says:

Denver lost because their secondary was awful. Champ looked like a chump.

  139. Bitterlaw says:

You don’t have to agree with everything he did to honor some of the courageous stands Ron Paul made in congress.

I’m glad he’ll never be President but we could use more Congressmen like him.

More Ron Pauls in Congress would really control spending (except for all the pork in their districts). RON PAUL SUPPORTED A NUCLEAR-ARMED IRAN. If he raised my mother from the dead and reduced the Federal deficit to $0, I still could not support him for the simple fact he is either stupid and does not realize that the oceans can not protect us OR he does not care if we are attacked.

  140. JulStol says:

Aw, lil Mikey, no one knows I was using your last name. You’re just too stupid to know what a strawman argument is.

That said, everyone knows my last name is Stolz so, go f**k yourself.

  141. jason says:

” He was wrong on the War on Drugs and wrong on foreign policy. That’s about it.

If Rand publically disavowed his father, I’d lose a lot of respect for him. ”

No he was wrong on fiscal matters, a huge porker.

He was wrong when he profited for decades with racist newsletters that he claimed he didn’t write, although they had his name. And he never said WHO wrote them if he didn’t.

    Courageous stands, my ass.

  142. Bitterlaw says:

It is actually liberating to not care who wins. If jason said that there were bad calls there were bad calls but I wasn’t watching. As for his GFY to bio mom, that is between him and her.

  143. Michael (Christie For Governor) says:

Go Fuuuck yourself Jul you no good, delinquent, stupid, selfish, self-centered Paulbot!

  144. jason says:

” Champ looked like a chump.”

He had a bad game, but most of those plays should not even have happened. The Ravens shouldn’t have had the ball.

Indicted businessman: Utah A.G. ied to Alleged Scheme Involving HarrY Reid
    By Tom HarveyAnd Robert Gehrke

Embattled St. George businessman Jeremy Johnson says new Utah Attorney General John Swallow helped broker a deal in 2010 in which Johnson believed he was to pay Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid $600,000 to make a federal investigation into Johnson’s company go away. Jeremy Johnson says new A.G. brokered attempt to derail federal investigation.

But when the federal government filed a lawsuit Johnson thought he had paid to quash, he demanded Swallow return some of the $250,000 initial payment. Then, just days before the Nov. 6 election, Johnson engaged in a frenetic but unsuccessful effort to get Swallow to drop out of the race, saying information about what Johnson called a “bribe” would come out and force the Republican’s resignation if he became attorney general.

April 30 » Swallow meets Johnson at a Krispy Kreme restaurant in Orem; Johnson has the meeting recorded and photographed.

Oct. 26 » With election just days away, Johnson sends Swallow a text message about getting the money back. Johnson decides he should try to get Swallow to drop out of the A.G. race.

Oct. 29 » Johnson meets Democratic attorney general candidate Dee Smith at Bambara restaurant in Salt Lake City as part of effort to get Swallow to drop out of race.
Johnson’s allegations come less than a week after Swallow took the oath of office. Federal agents have interviewed several Utahns about Johnson’s relationship with Swallow, among other issues, according to those interviewed. The FBI would not comment.

Johnson said he does not know if any of the money he paid in the deal actually reached anyone connected to Reid.
Reid’s office declined to comment, spokeswoman Kristen Orthman said Friday.

  146. jason says:

Jul is not a Paulbot if he believes we should have a military.

He is just wrong about what Rand Paul really stands for.

  147. jason says:

Did you deduct all the yards the officials gave the Ravens?

  148. JulStol says:

It’s so cute that the Collectivist Mikey thinks that being selfish and self-centered is a bad thing.

Learn something about individualism and capitalism. They’re what America was founded on.

If you’re going to live here and be involved in our political process, you might want to learn something about our history other than what your marxist professors taught you.

  149. bio mom says:

Jason, That is how a sore loser acts.

  150. jason says:

I will say this, despite the worst officiating I have seen this year, Denver still was winning by a TD and all they had to do was stop the Ravens with no time outs and a minute to play.

They failed. On that alone you can say they deserved to lose.

But this game should not have been that close if not for the officiating.

  151. Michael (Christie For Governor) says:

Actually jul many of my teachers are registered republicans so nice try. I know they aren’t Marxists, but I know you are nothing more than a delinquent for supporting an idiot such as Ron Paul

  152. jason says:

Here is my post at the end of the first half, way before any Denver loss.

    ” Firat half:

    Broncos 21 Officials 21

    Comment by jason — January 12, 2013 @ 6:13 pm”

    So Biomom, GFY again.

  153. JulStol says:

    Jason,

While I do believe that there is a good bit of waste in DOD spending, for the most part, the Generals and Admirals should get whatever they ask for and the public should not be told where Defense money is going.

I fully support the continued use of Club Gitmo and rendition and the torture of terrorists and those who harbor them by any means that our men in uniform think are appropriate.

  154. Michael (Christie For Governor) says:

Bio mom, the Ravens won congrats! I have no real need to support either team, but I leaned towards the Ravens because I hated John Foxx for how he ruined the Panthers. What an idiot

  155. JulStol says:

    Lil Mikey,

The President of my Teachers Union is a Registered Republican and she supported Obama for President.

Being a Registered Republican doesn’t mean you’re not a marxist.

http://www.SueArnoldTweets.blogspot.com (if you’d like to read a bit more about her “Republican” ideology in her own words)

  156. Michael (Christie For Governor) says:

Jul-ia I am proud to say many of those teachers are in fact true republicans and if I asked them who they voted for they will say Romney, something i don’t think you can say.

  157. Bitterlaw says:

Mikey thinks that being selfish and self-centered is a bad thing.

Well, it generally makes you a prick but maybe you see that as a good thing. Of course, a man living alone with 4 cats may have a different view of the world.*

    Lil Mikey,

No, I voted for His Mittness in November.

  159. Michael (Christie For Governor) says:

Bitter I didn’t know Jul owned cats, I have a dog and fish

  160. Michael (Christie For Governor) says:

@160 I am talking about the primary Jul

  161. JulStol says:

    Bitter,

I’m actually getting a good chuckle out of that youtube link. Nice one :)

I may live alone but unlike lil Mikey, I have no problem aquiring female companionship on a regular basis.

  162. Bitterlaw says:

    Jul’s true conservative voting record:

    Local Democrats.

    Katherine Kane (Dem for AG)

    Ron Paul.

Jul, You can lie to yourself all you want but you contradict your self-proclaimed ideals constantly. You claim to be against government but you desperately want to live off it (state rep or constable or District Justice).

  163. Michael (Christie For Governor) says:

@163 yes you do, you said you were “defending” yourself against drunk college women

  164. Bitterlaw says:

I have no problem aquiring female companionship on a regular basis.

    Do they ever come back?

  165. Michael (Christie For Governor) says:

@164 that is true, once he becomes a state rep, he will earn a sizable pension…

  166. Michael (Christie For Governor) says:

@167 and for him to be a state rep is skeptical.

  167. Michael (Christie For Governor) says:

@166 no, remember he shoots at them before they come in!

  168. Bitterlaw says:

I think that I said that Jul the Gun-Wielding Warrior was defending himself against drunk college girls. If he admitted it, I missed it.

  169. JulStol says:

“I have a dog and fish”

I like dogs but I’m suspicious of anything that loves you unconditionally.

    I have 2 goldfish
    3 Porthole catfish
    1 Ropefish
    1 Pleco
    1 Cory catfish
    1 Striped Raphael catfist
    1 Bumblebee catfish
    1 Spotted Raphael catfish
    And a black skirt tetra

  170. JulStol says:

    Bitter and Michael,

If I become a state rep I will NEVER take a pay increase, a pension, or state health benefits.

I will only accept salary and mileage as that is what is guarenteed under the state constitution.

  171. Michael (Christie For Governor) says:

@171 you really should have more than one black-skirt tetras, not a school but at least two

  172. JulStol says:

“I think that I said that Jul the Gun-Wielding Warrior was defending himself against drunk college girls. If he admitted it, I missed it.”

No, they weren’t female or college students. Just drunk friends of my permanently chitfaced neighbor.

  173. Michael (Christie For Governor) says:

Jul I don’t believe that for a second, the house and senate can vote without you and get the majority needed, then the pay increase will come to you anyway and then what will you do with the money. You might get rid of it once or twice, but eventually like all politicans you’ll accept it.

  174. JulStol says:

    Michael,

    Re: The black skirt tetras.

I know. I had 4 of them but a fungus wiped out my 36 gallon tank. The one remaining is the only survivor. I’ll buy him some schoolmates when I get that tank up and running again. For now, he’s living in the 55 gallon goldfish tank along with most of the catfish.

  175. Michael (Christie For Governor) says:

@171 don’t you mean Bumblebee Goby?

  176. Tulipomania says:

Israel attacked a nuclear reactor in Iraq in 1981 and nearly the entire U.S. Congress voted to condemn the act.

Ron Paul was one of the few dissenters as he voted against the condemnation.

Rand has taken a similar stance in not getting involved.

  177. Michael (Christie For Governor) says:

@176 Jul, hold one need to pull out my fish book.

  178. Michael (Christie For Governor) says:

Bunu put a sock in it for a second jul and. We’re getting along

  179. JulStol says:

“then the pay increase will come to you anyway and then what will you do with the money. You might get rid of it once or twice, but eventually like all politicans you’ll accept it.”

No, I will continue to write a check back to the state treasury and post a copy of the check on the web for verification purposes.

I would expect that if I ever broke my word, I would be voted out of office.

  180. Michael (Christie For Governor) says:

@181 the latter hardly ever happens jul, people vote blindly most of the time

  181. JulStol says:

    Michael,

Nope. I’ve had bumblebee gobies too, though.

This one is a bumblebee catfish (the smaller variety, not the one that gets to be 10+ inches…I had one of those and he ate all my swordtails and platies)

  182. JulStol says:

    Michael,

The incumbent is a young guy too and he also only accepts salary and mileage. The people of this district are used to a guy like that and I believe would vote out anyone who did otherwise.

  183. Michael (Christie For Governor) says:

Jul, I recommend you have Hatchetfish, neon tetras, Beaconfish, and Lemon tetras (these are awesome, because they are actually blind)

  184. Michael (Christie For Governor) says:

@183 don’t buy Convict Cichlid, it killed off most of the other fish in my tank once. It grew to be 6 inches. It killed larger fish.

  185. JulStol says:

    Michael,

Tetras are boring although I do think cardinal tetras are pretty striking.

I stick with black skirt and penguin tetras when I keep them along with some dwarf neon rainbows or australian rainbows.

They’re less sensitive to water quality than are neons and cardinals. I just don’t have the patience to keep water quality at that level.

  186. JulStol says:

“don’t buy Convict Cichlid, it killed off most of the other fish in my tank once. It grew to be 6 inches. It killed larger fish.”

Well, “Convict” was in the name. That shoulda been a hint!

If I’m going to have a convict, it’ll be a significant other, not a fish ;)

I stay away from cichlids in general. With the exception of blue rams they’re nasty little SOBs that don’t do well with others.

They’re the Paulbots of the fish world.

    In Liberty,

    Senator Rand Paul

P.S. Congratulations to A.J. Spiker for being reelected Chairman of the Republican Party of Iowa.

A.J. served as Iowa co-chair of my father’s Presidential campaign, and I can tell you he’s as committed to fighting for our conservative values as I am.

  189. Michael (Christie For Governor) says:

Jul, the thing is that water quality must be maintained. Sometimes the way to do tht is to have live plants and real bogwood, other times it is just the species of fish. I. Charlotte I always went to this dealer, in Charlotte its called Fintastic. Google it, they even sold Nurse and Balcktip reef sharks.

  190. JulStol says:

    Michael,

I keep my nitrites down but my nitrates tend to be on the high side.

Next time you’re down around Lancaster, check out “That Fish Place/That Pet Place”. It’s not quite “Fintastic” (you forget I worked in NC for a summer) but it’s close and a great fish store.

Most of my fish and one of my cats came from there.

  191. Tulipomania says:

    The Rand Paul doctrine

To the delight of Israel’s enemies and the dismay of its supporters, libertarian Senator Rand Paul, a potential Republican contender for the United States presidency, argued while in Israel this week that the U.S. should phase out the $3-billion per year in aid that it provides Israel’s military. Ending this aid along with U.S. aid to all foreign countries — call it the Rand Paul Doctrine — would actually leave Israel better off, he claimed to raised eyebrows.

  192. JulStol says:

    Bunu,

You do more harm to your cause than good. Just shut the phuck up.

  193. Michael (Christie For Governor) says:

@193 I feel compelled to check out the fish store. I will one day, once I get my car. Which will be soon

  194. Bitterlaw says:

Breaking News – Tropical fish awarded Nobel Peace Prize for bringing Jul and Michael together. When asked why they got involved, the spokesfish said . . . wait for it . . . “We did it for the halibut.”

  195. Tim says:

That is true, Jul. He does. But, he won’t take your advice.

  196. Tulipomania says:

Paul takes a second Arizona county this week: Yavapai County GOP meeting took Chairman, First Vice Chair, Assistant Treasurer, and Assistant Secretary

  197. JulStol says:

As someone who wholeheartedly supports Israel and is using a pro Zionism Israel-based newspaper as a source, his is not an unreasonable position:

“Paul said he was not talking about anything different than what Netanyahu said in a 1996 speech to Congress, in which he advocated Israel gradually weaning itself off of American aid dollars.

This would benefit Israel and its defense industry, because it would not have to buy all its weaponry from the US, and a curtailment of US foreign aid would also mean less money for arms for Israel’s neighbors, Paul said.

Stating that the US gives more foreign aid to Israel’s neighbors than to Israel, Paul said that if the US gives 20 F-16 fighter plans to Egypt, Israel then feels it needs to buy 25; or if the US gives Egypt 200 tanks, Israel feels the need to purchase 300.

Paul stressed that he was worried about giving weapons to Egypt at the present time, especially since President Mohamed Morsi is listening to a spiritual leader calling for “the death of Israel and all its friends.”

  198. Tulipomania says:

It solves two problems at once. Cuts foreign aid, and stops indirect spending on the US defense complex.

They have to spend the foreign aid on these companies as a subsidy.

  199. Michael (Christie For Governor) says:

Bunu congrats, Paulbots took a medium sized county of Arizona, its ridiculous what Paulbots are doing. Ruining the GOP

  200. JulStol says:

Technically, Paulbots are not winning most of these county leadership elections. What they are doing is joining with disaffected “mainstream” tea party members and forming Republican Liberty Caucus chapters that are winning some of these races.

    I’d know, I’m a RLC member.

  201. Bitterlaw says:

S, when Stormfront members join Paulbots and Paulbots join Tea Parties and Teal parties join Jul, then……….

  202. bio mom says:

My last response to Jason. To get so worked up over a football game that you say expletives to a 64 year old grandmother is just sad.

  203. JulStol says:

    Bitter,

I have no higher aspirations than Lieutenant Governor. I never EVER even want to become a Congressman.

Besides, if you read the article that I posted this afternoon, you’d see that I said that I do not believe that those of a richer hue are intellectually inferior.

That rules me out for the Stormfront vote ;)

  204. Tulipomania says:

We’re going to take all of Arizona not decent chunk.

  205. Michael (Christie For Governor) says:

@208 not likely, real republicans will stop you

  206. Brandon says:

So that Kaepernick guy is pretty fast.

  207. Tulipomania says:

In Maricopa County (the Phoenix metro area) today we just voted in a Republican County chair who scored 99% on this Liberty Questionnaire:

We have Maricopa, Yavapai, and much of Mohave.

Those are just the ones I know of, but there could be more.

  208. Tulipomania says:

Utah has one of the best primary systems in my opinion.

I would want something like that in Arizona to get rid of McCain, but idk about their presidential primary\caucus system.

  209. Michael (Christie For Governor) says:

Bunu, McCain I is staying. And besides Hatch stayed as well even with primary so whatever

  210. Tuliopmania says:

If McCain were to be the nominee, that would the very definition of a defective primary process.

  211. Michael (Christie For Governor) says:

@214 McCain is a good man Bunu, you are nothing more than a Drone.

We are the Borg, you will be assimilated!

    ZING

  212. Tulipomania says:

Ted Kennedy might have been a good man too, but he should not be the GOP nominee, and neither should John McCain.

  213. lisab says:

“I may live alone but unlike lil Mikey, I have no problem aquiring female companionship on a regular basis.”

you moved closer to your state’s women’s penitentiary?

  214. JulStol says:

    LisaB,

Old saying about having a handful of pardons in a womens prison comes to mind…

  215. Bitterlaw says:

Isn’t it interesting that Bunu only speaks of county chairs and state chairs and committees. He never speaks of voters. I wonder if has anything to do with the fact that the overwehlming majority of voters always rejected Ron Paul outside his gerrymandered, pork-laden district.

  216. lisab says:

“Old saying about having a handful of pardons in a womens prison comes to mind…”

which is why you want to run for office?

  217. JulStol says:

Looks like my football picks are going 1 and 1 today.

I wasn’t terribly invested in seeing SanFran win but I’m thrilled to see Green Bay lose.

Would have enjoyed seeing the Ravens lose as well but seeing the refs hand it to them against a Tebow-less Broncos gave me a certain level of satisfaction.

Will be rooting for Seattle and Houston tomorrow though the matchups don’t favour either.

  218. JulStol says:

    LisaB,

If I ran for an office where I’d have any effect on that, something in my life would have gone terribly wrong.

If/when you get a chance, take a look at my article http://pennsylvaniaconservative.com/to-take-back-our-country-we-must-first-take-back-our-children/

    I’d like a teacher’s perspective.

  219. lisab says:

i disagree with your thesis …

however, in particular, you are crazy not to support standardized testing. if anything it should be expanded.

ideally we should have national tests that determine both bestowal of high school diplomas and national ranking of students in terms of acceptance to colleges.

any merit based ranking system should be supported and expanded

  220. Tulipomania says:

    Wrong Bitter

It’s nearly impossible to win a GOP caucus without already winning the states chair or at a minimum having an extremely large presence within the party membership and leadership prior to the actual voting.

It’s all one in the same

  221. Michael (Christie For Governor) says:

    Good Night

Lisab your topic I am sure will make for an interesting discussion tomorrow. I am sure of it.

  222. Bitterlaw says:

Jul knows nothing about football but loves Tebow? Makes perfect sense.

  223. JulStol says:

    Bitter

I know a bit about football. Watched it since I was little and was a big Eagles fan til they hired Vick.

I enjoy and understand the game.

    And I hate:
    The Cowboys
    The Giants
    The Packers
    The Cheatriots
    The Ravens
    The Colts
    And the Titans
    (In that order)

    I like
    The Eagles
    The Steelers
    The Lions
    The Seahawks
    And the Texans
    (In that order)
+whoever Tebow is playing for assuming he’s actually playing.

  224. JulStol says:

    LisaB,

I understand your point of view though I don’t necessarily agree with it.

Wasn’t expecting you to agree but I was curious as to what you’d think.

  225. Bitterlaw says:

I read your opinion piece, Jul. did I miss the part where you told the reader you quit school? You said we should focus how to think rather than to think. Sorry, but you have it backwards. Libs don,t encourage independent thought (how to think).

How do you know what is taught? You already admit you don’t care about curriculum. You are only there to vote no on budgets. You have no children so I don’t know how you know what they are taught. You also complain that the left indoctrinated children but you clearly just want to indoctrinate them to hold an opposite view rather than reach their own conclusions.

  226. Bitterlaw says:

Why are the Titans and Packers so high on the list.

  227. JulStol says:

    Bitter,

I graduated high school and made it half way through college and I cannot say that my opinion piece reflects my experience.

I absolutely believe students should be thought how to think (as in how to become critical thinkers) rather than to just accept the “facts” they are given by their teachers.

As a board member, the closest I’ve gotten to interfering with curriculum was the book issue (which was resolved in my favour). I do not believe board members should, as a general rule, interefere with the curriculum. That is generally “above our paygrade” and a lot of it is predetermined by state and federal requirements.

I don’t want students indoctrinated to hold any viewpoints at all. I favour a socratic teaching method where everything is questioned so questioning authority becomes the norm.

I may not have children in the district but I talk to many parents who do. When they have concerns, I listen to them, which is a lot more than they get from most other board members (my running mate who also won being the exception).

  228. JulStol says:

I’ve literally hated the Packers since the first Superbowl I remember watching (Patriots vs. Packers).

As I recall, the Patriots won that game. That was before they became cheaters.

The Titans are where they are because I actually watched the Eagles lose to the Titans at one of the games I saw in person at the Vet.

  229. lisab says:

    “I favour a socratic teaching method …”

student: what is that country called?

    teacher: mali

student: why isn’t it called lezebraghanistan?

teacher: because it is called mali

student: but why isn’t it called lezebraghanistan, i want it to be called lezebraghanistan … prove to me it is not called lezebraghanistan.

teacher: look at the map … the name is printed on it … it is called mali

student: i reject your naming convention … you cannot prove it should not be called lezebraghanistan

  230. lisab says:

the point of younger education is to teach children basic skills and knowledge, like how to read, write, explain simple scientific theories and methods, perhaps conduct some simple experiments … with guidance if necessary, do various mathematical operations successfully, demonstrate a basic understanding of health topics like diet and exercise, be familiar with some history, culture, music and art etc.

it is not to teach them to challenge the basic fabric of society

  231. Bitterlaw says:

Jul – I thinnk you do want to indoctrinate children. Your own example proves it. Many of the Fiunding Fathers absolutely believed in the racial supremacy of whites. Many owned slaves. Should these facts be ignored? They also established a great framework of goverment. The Constitution is a living document. That is why it can be amended.

  232. Yolanda says:

If the Constitution is a “living document,” that must mean that it will someday die. This means that [text redacted by Ashley Judd for US Senate Exploratory Committee].

  233. Michael (Christie For Governor) says:

    Good morning

  234. Bitterlaw says:

My favorite sentenc from Jul’s screed:

Some have chosen to be responsible parents and home school children or send them to private or charter schools.

Translation – I am an irresponsible parent for sending my children to public school. If I lived in a district where a 2 term School Director openly boasts that he does not care about academic achievement, he might be right.

I suppose that Jul would greatly respect a couple I know who home school their children because they don’t want them “confronted” with Jews, atheists, blacks and Hispanics. They won’t send their children to Catholic school because it is “Godless” and filled with Marxists. Maybe I should send them Jul’s piece.

I also know some great parents who home school their children for different reasons.

  235. Michael (Christie For Governor) says:

@239 bitter does that mean jul thinks I am stupid?

  236. Brandon says:

Don’t worry Michael, EVERYONE thinks you’re stupid, not just Jul.

  237. Michael (Christie For Governor) says:

@241 Brandon I mean in the school sense. I have a GPA of 4.25.

  238. Bitterlaw says:

Michael – It isn’t your fault. Ypu have irresponsible parents. They sent you to public school. Just ask Jul.

  239. Michael (Christie For Governor) says:

@243 my mother isn’t irresponsible though, she only earns $40,000 a year she can’t afford to send me to a private school. And I don’t like home school, I wouldn’t have a social life if I had been home schooled.

  240. Rockefeller Republican says:

#19, you’re guilty of faking a false connection.

Of course, Gov. Rockefeller was a liberal…except for Attica ;-)

But his liberalism does not make a liberal me…You should know never to assume, counselor. Indeed, like junior, you should revisit my posts of steadfast support for Mitt over the past year.

My ardor for Nelson Rockefeller was his taking the GOP to its zenith in the Empire State. Just look at how the GOP has whithered since…

To paraphrase President Nixon, who centennial we celebrate today, “I’m not a liberal!”.

  244. Michael (Christie For Governor) says:

@248 I have a dilemma either break the fish truce and hate jul for calling my mom irresponsible. Or be kind…

  245. Michael (Christie For Governor) says:

    Tough decision…

Jul I hate that you are calling my mom irresponsible.

  246. Scott says:

Colin Powell’s antipathy toward the Republican Party was palpable on today’s Meet The Press.
Gregory asked why he still considers himself a Republican and Powell went into a five minute diatribe about the racism, sexism etc in the GOP and that WE must change and be and think like him!Powell has become nothing more than an Obama a***wipe.

  247. Michael (Christie For Governor) says:

@251 Scott, don’t be rude to Powell, if he is still a member then fine. I will however go after him the next time he endorses a democrat for president

  248. Bitterlaw says:

Predictions based on my NFL Hate List Rankins (more hated team always wins):

    Patriots (3)

  252. jason says:

    Hey Rockefeller Troll, f–k off!

I am feeling bad about the Denver loss, but telling the troll off is therapeutic.

So if you saw the interview,do you agree with my sentiments about Powell?

  256. jason says:

Screw Colin Powell, who is as much a Republican as Bunu.

He is just an Obama lapdog that gets press because he calls himself a Republican.

As a Democrat, he wouldn’t get invited to a high school seminar, let alone network TV.

  257. Michael (Christie For Governor) says:

@260 I agree that he said many negative things, burn feel it was just a critique and I feel that he has always been that way. It’s nothing new

  258. Michael (Christie For Governor) says:

@261 that says a lot Bunu isn’t a real republican

  259. Scott says:

    #261&262
I agree with the both of you.
Colin Powell is for Colin Powell only and constantly puts his finger to the wind.
I lost it for him,BIG TIME, when he could have stopped the Valerie Plame investigation by immediately informing the Special Prosecutor that his assistant,Armitage, and not Scooter Libby or Rove was the culprit.Instead,he chose to remain silent and Libby ended up incarcerated for NOTHING!!!

  260. Michael (Christie For Governor) says:

264 yeah, I just ignore him and thank him for being a member of the party

  261. MD (IP - Akin and Mourdock Will Win!) says:

Scott – I agree. They gave Powell a complete pass on that situation. He basically did the brother in law thing for Obama. Screw Powell. He would have caved no matter what.

  262. Scott says:

I am not for slavery. However, the Constitution did give states the right to secede. That is clear. Further, the practice of slavery would have stopped the very second that France and the UK stopped buying the products produced from slave labor.

So millions died. Yay. How great.

  268. SusyQue says:

    Lastest Lincoln movie….

The worst movie I have seen on Lincoln. Propaganda
    for the Dems!

  269. MD (IP - Akin and Mourdock Will Win!) says:

Sorry – a study was done and ONLY 820,000 died. How wonderful. I don’t eviscerate Lincoln for making the decision he did but he did NOT do it just for slavery. He flat out said that he did not want to interfere with slavery where it existed in his debates with Douglas. The argument was over extending slavery to the new territories and states. The south felt as though they were being squeezed and were not ready to give up what they called the “peculiar institution”. Further, Lincoln also negotiated with the border states on an extension of slavery. The Emancipation Proclamation did NOT free the slaves in border states who were loyal to the Union:

    (the below is from PBS.org)

“In September of 1862, after the Union’s victory at Antietam, Lincoln issued a preliminary decree stating that, unless the rebellious states returned to the Union by January 1, freedom would be granted to slaves within those states. The decree also left room for a plan of compensated emancipation. No Confederate states took the offer, and on January 1 Lincoln presented the Emancipation Proclamation. The proclamation declared, “all persons held as slaves within any States, or designated part of the State, the people whereof shall be in rebellion against the United States, shall be then, thenceforward, and forever free.”

The Emancipation Proclamation did not free all slaves in the United States. Rather, it declared free only those slaves living in states not under Union control. William Seward, Lincoln’s secretary of state, commented, “We show our symapthy with slavery by emancipating slaves where we cannot reach them and holding them in bondage where we can set them free.” Lincoln was fully aware of the irony, but he did not want to antagonize the slave states loyal to the Union by setting their slaves free”.

Lincoln understood that the long-term economic viability of the country rested on the Union not being separated into 2 countries. He was anti-slave but he was willing to negotiate on that issue.

This is NOT as simple as people like Bitterlaw like to this it is. There are a lot of moving parts involved.

  270. Bitterlaw says:

MD – I must have missed that provision in the Constitution. Can you please cite the Article and Section? Thank you.

  271. MD (IP - Akin and Mourdock Will Win!) says:

It may have been the right decision in the end, but it did break the Constitution. Also, suspending Habeas Corpus was a clear violation of the Constitution. Now, I understand that Maryland was rampant with spies for the Confederacy so Lincoln thought he had no option.

I just wish that these issues would be explored more instead of making Lincoln into a Saint which he was not.

  272. MD (IP - Akin and Mourdock Will Win!) says:

275 – we have been through that before and you know damn well. I won’t even dignify it.

  273. Bitterlaw says:

I never said that slavery was the only reason for the war. However, I get tired of the argument that slavery was not a major factor at least in giving a face to the issues involved.

MD – I recommend the movie. If you don’t want to see it then don’t see it.

  274. Bitterlaw says:

we have been through that before and you know damn well. I won’t even dignify it.

I recall you didn’t answer it with an Atricle and Section then, either. Zzzzzzz

  275. MD (IP - Akin and Mourdock Will Win!) says:

You guys just like the mythology surrounding it. The bottom line was that Lincoln was a politician. If the south would have negotiated with him, he would have probably have allowed slavery to continue where it was at least for a couple of generations.

Lincoln did NOT go to War over ending slavery.

  276. MD (IP - Akin and Mourdock Will Win!) says:

    Bitter – same old answers..zzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz……

  277. Bitterlaw says:

No – Lincoln went to war because the South attacked first. Since you went answer the Article and Section question, let’s move on.

I don’t know if I want the Denver Defensive Coordinator as a coach for the Eagles. Was he at the game last night or was he being interviewed in the locker room by Lurie during the game? 38 points to Joe Flacco? Seriously?

  280. JulStol says:

Obama trying to compare himself to Lincoln is actually a fairly appropriate parallel.

(And no, this statement has nothing to do with assassination)

    I’ll leave it at that.

  281. Bitterlaw says:

Thanks for calling me an irresponsible parent, Jul. You have now completely discredited yourself.

  282. JulStol says:

    Bitter,

I didn’t call you an irresponsible parent. That’s just what you chose to read into it.

That says quite a bit about you.

  283. Bitterlaw says:

Some have chosen to be responsible parents and home school children or send them to private or charter schools.

Here is how you interpret a sentence, Jul. “Some have chosen to be responsible parents…” The basis of that statement is that a responsible parent either home schools their children or sends them to a private or charter school. Therefore, a parent who does not make those choices is not responsible. You know what you wrote. Be a man and own it.

  284. jason says:

IMO Lincoln was the greatest President that ever lived.

Saying there were other considerations besides slavery is a red herring. The South seceded because they wanted to keep slavery. Lincoln was anti-slavery AND in favor of maintaining the union.

It’s really not as complicated as some revisionists want you to think.

  285. JulStol says:

“Some have chosen to be responsible parents and home school children or send them to private or charter schools.”

That’s what I said, yes. I did not say that sending your child to a defacto private school like yours was an irresponsible choice.

You chose to believe that’s what I meant.

  286. jason says:

” Yep Colin Powell is definitely you Republicans problem.”

Hey troll, how about 3 years in grammar school and then give it another shot.

  287. jason says:

” Lincoln did NOT go to War over ending slavery.”

    True.

The South started the war to maintain slavery.

Lincoln ended the war to abolish it.

  288. Bitterlaw says:

Own it, Jul. My children attend public schools. There are private schools in the District that they do not attend. Either you believe that sending children to public school is irresponsible or you do not. I’m sorry that calling you on your blanket statements maks you uncomfortable.

  289. jason says:

” He was anti-slave but he was willing to negotiate on that issue. ”

    He was anti-slavery.

Maybe he would have negotiated to prevent a civil war that killed 500k soldiers and countless other.

I still don’t see that an indictment of Lincoln.

The revisionists want to paint Lincoln as a blood thirsty warmonger and failing that they fall back on “well, he would have negotiated”.

    You can’t have both.

  290. JulStol says:

Doesn’t make me uncomfortable in the least, Bitter.

Does make me chuckle, a bit.

  291. Bitterlaw says:

  292. jason says:

At least 21 of those were from the officials, so 17 is not so bad.

    8)

  293. Bitterlaw says:

Jul chuckles at being called out as a judgmental, simplistic liar? Ok.

  294. JulStol says:

“In my district, the public schools close for 2 Jewish holidays and the Spring Break includes Good Friday. lisab and Jul might both have heart attacks over that.”

No, it’s fine with me. No reason not to have off on a holiday observed by a large portion of the population of your district.

I doubt LisaB would take issue with it. She might argue against it for the sole purpose of seeing Team Evangelical go cookoo bananas, but in her heart, I doubt she truly objects.

  302. Bitterlaw says:

303 – I agree. As for Tebow, you can’t prove it. Since you claim that the officials gave the Ravens 21 points, you have to prove a Tebow-led team could score at least 22. If everything else played out the same (which it would not), then 36 points.

    http://sports.yahoo.com/blogs/nfl-shutdown-corner/officials-rough-day-denver-broncos-lose-ravens-050004687–nfl.html

“But the final pair of questionable and critical calls both went against the Broncos in overtime.

On the first possession of overtime, Baltimore was backed up on its own 22-yard line with a third-and-8. Anquan Boldin made an 11-yard catch, but replays showed as he juggled it on his way down, the ball may have touched the ground. Had it been reversed, Baltimore would have been punting from its 22. After review, the play stood.

Three plays later, on third-and-4 from the Ravens’ 39, cornerback Champ Bailey was called for pass interference, even though he reached around Torrey Smith and seemed to make a great play to knock the ball away. Instead of punting, the Ravens had four more downs. They eventually punted from their own 49 to the Broncos, who took over at their 16. Those two calls caused a big change in field position.”

  305. HHR Senator AuthorLMendez, El Patron says:

the Lt Gov should accept defeat w/o whining about officials. the Ravens always get screwed over by the officials and that last TD Denver drive proved it w/ 2 horrible calls. Overall though Denver only had a chance to win the Game because of 2 fluke special teams TD. I dont hate the Broncos but these last 12+ hours of Broncos fans claiming the officials screwed them is a joke. The Ravens won and the Broncos choked, get used to it. Ray Ray moves on. In the third quarter, a holding call on Broncos guard Chris Kuper – something rarely called on an inside run and didn’t seem to be holding on Kuper either – nullified a third-and-1 conversion.”

We could go on and on on how Denver was hosed.

Author, if it wasn’t for the 21 points the officials gave the Ravens, the game would not even have been close.

The better team lost. That happens. But when it happens because of bad calls it doesn’t inspire much confidence in the NFL.

  334. Michael (Christie For Governor) says:

    4. Using any excuse to share his plans for his life, even his donation plans to politicians during Presidential campaigns decades into the future
    5. Not understaning criticism, such as harping on whether his ‘prediction’ was right, when he was actually criticized for mentioning the F’ing Panthers again, when nobody gives a sh!# about that crappy team.

If you think about it, it’s kinda like the Cowboys – Panthers game in week 7.

  362. HHR Senator AuthorLMendez, El Patron says:

Mike I would ignore Cory because hes Canadian, but if you wanna battle him then I can’t stop you.

MD it was a clean win but lucky nonetheless. the Falcons better learn to play better next week or the Niners will be on their way to New Orleans.

Heres hoping the Cheatriots lose to the Texans. Doubtful though.

  363. Michael (Christie For Governor) says:

Cory, thank you for your list. I don’t take criticism from non-US citizens though so…

  364. Michael (Christie For Governor) says:

@369 I am done talking to him now

  365. bio mom says:

Apparently Nate Silver predicted that Seattle would be in the Super Bowl this year.

  366. MD (IP - Akin and Mourdock Will Win!) says:

Bio – it wasn’t a bad pick. Seattle was red hot and they did come back. Just a great couple of passes from Matt Ryan.

  367. MD (IP - Akin and Mourdock Will Win!) says:

You never know in football. Hard to think the Pats would lose.

I usually root against them. Hate them slightly less than I hate the Cowboys.

  368. HHR Senator AuthorLMendez, El Patron says:

the Texans got a 90+ yard kickoff return and that was followed by a 3 and out. yeah the Texans are gonna lose.

  369. Bitterlaw says:

Since the Patriots are third on my Hate List, they will win easily.

  370. HHR Senator AuthorLMendez, El Patron says:

the Cheatriots are my #1 team to hate. Next to the Bucs winning the SB, watching them choke 2 SBs away late to the Giants are up there as my fav moments in my NFL fan life

  371. MD (IP - Akin and Mourdock Will Win!) says:

Cowboys for me Author. I despise every single thing about them. I have had some really bad, as in pure evil thoughts, regarding them. I feel bad afterwards but it doesn’t stop me.

  372. Michael (Christie For Governor) says:

I will not speak of my favorite NFL moments because I am too young to have experienced enough to choose.

  373. MD (IP - Akin and Mourdock Will Win!) says:

BTW – I am going to sue Kathy Orr, a local weather lady here in Philly. She built this weekend up like you wouldn’t believe. Up to 65 and sunny on Sunday! Saturday will be great in the afternoon and highs in the high 50′s.

Yesterday, cloudy except for 10 minutes – high, maybe 53. Today – they got 100% wrong. Instead of 65 and sunny, it was 46 and drizzly with horrible fog.

    Bytch

  374. Tim says:

    I don’t like the Saints.

  375. MD (IP - Akin and Mourdock Will Win!) says:

I have to say that yesterday’s game was one of the top 5 I have ever seen.

  376. Tim says:

I bet Dave would rank it right at the top, MD. LOL

  377. Bitterlaw says:

My wife ran 4 miles today. I did not run at all. As a couple, we are averaging 2 miles each!

  378. MD (IP - Akin and Mourdock Will Win!) says:

My wife did an hour of yoga and a half hour on the treadmill.

  379. MD (IP - Akin and Mourdock Will Win!) says:

Tim – the “hands” game with Oakland versus Miami back in 74 stands out. First game I watched that I can recall as “great”. Given everything that was going on, yesterday’s game very well could have been the best.

  380. Bitterlaw says:

My wife has a bigger rack. I win!

  381. Michael (Christie For Governor) says:

@387 I really don’t want to know how you know hat!

  382. Michael (Christie For Governor) says:

    388 that

  383. Bitterlaw says:

Michael – What happens in Radnor stays in Radnor.

  384. Bitterlaw says:

MD – Dark thoughts? I remember thinking that when the Patriots and Giants first played against each other in the Super Bowl that I would not mind if their planes crashed before the game. I would have only felt sorry for the crews on the planes. Darker than that for you?

  385. Michael (Christie For Governor) says:

    @390 I hope so.

  386. Bitterlaw says:

A little psychological warfare? Other than the helmets, are the Texans trying to get as close to the uniforms of the New York Giants as possible?

  387. Bitterlaw says:

Sorry, Texans. I didn’t hate you enough to get you past the Patriots.

  388. Tim says:

    #386:
Of all I have ever seen, I have to rate the Steelers-Raiders Divisional Playoff game in 1972 as maybe the top game I ever saw.

  389. Bitterlaw says:

I love fans in stadiums. No matter what the review really showed, they always boo when it goes against their team.

  390. Bitterlaw says:

    Hello?

  391. Cory says:

Is it me you’re looking for?

  392. Bitterlaw says:

That may work in Canadian clubs but I’m not into dudes.

  393. Bitterlaw says:

    CD

  394. Walt, HHR Senator, formerly known as Delegate says:

Guy I know sent me another email of a new YouTube video about how the Sandy Hook shooting was all staged by CNN news interviewing fake medical eaminer and fake pretend parents of the victims.

    Bonkers.

  395. Walt, HHR Senator, formerly known as Delegate says:

Personally, I think the NFL playoff games are scripted and staged.

And also the weather forcasts by the weather forcasters. How can they possibly know?

  396. Michael (Christie For Governor) says:

Good evening, checking up on everyone

  397. Walt, HHR Senator, formerly known as Delegate says:

    NFL playoffs–staged I tell you.

Blowouts that have miraculous snd furious 4th quarter comebacks by the team losing in the closing seconds–only to be foiled by a last second 48 yard field goal???

    Who believes that REALLY happens???

  398. Michael (Christie For Governor) says:

Possible embarrassing big ten upset as #22 MSU battles Unranked, second to only PSU at being worst Nebraska, in a 52-50 struggle

  399. Bitterlaw says:

Walt – How does the sun know to come up every day?

  400. Walt, HHR Senator, formerly known as Delegate says:

    And those weather predictions?

It is uncanny that they can predict the actual temperature highs and lows 24 hours in advance.

    Rigged, I tell you.

  401. Michael (Christie For Governor) says:

@404 if I were to answer it would promote a response from an annoying Canadian

  402. Bitterlaw says:

Walt – jason thinks there was a conspiracy by the NFL to give the game to the Ravens. Since we all know that the NFL would much prefer a Brady – Flacco AFC Championship to one featuring some guy named Manning, it all makes sense.

  403. Walt, HHR Senator, formerly known as Delegate says:

Big buck deer that run into the interstate median strip and then–LOW AND BEHOLD–could turn in ANY direction and live but NO—head RIGHT for your front bumper.

    Rigged I tell you.

    Damn you, George Soros.

  404. Walt, HHR Senator, formerly known as Delegate says:

And look at how often flu epidemics just HAPPEN to appear at the SAME TIME that health officials are pushing out flu shot “vacines”.

    ODD INDEED!!!!

  405. Michael (Christie For Governor) says:

Walt, did you talk like this during your re-election campaign rallies?

  406. Walt, HHR Senator, formerly known as Delegate says:

    NFL, AFC–ALL RIGGED!!!

Congress MUST investigate who placed last minute bets in VEGAS to beat the point spread.

How many of those bettors are either related to the football palyers or staff, or live within 5 miles of those sports people?

    FIXED!!!

  407. Michael (Christie For Governor) says:

Walt, do us a favor, don’t run for congress.

  408. Walt, HHR Senator, formerly known as Delegate says:

1900 more votes cast in my district and I only get 400 of them?

    RIGGED I TELL YOU!!!

  409. Walt, HHR Senator, formerly known as Delegate says:

    opps.

1900 MORE votes cast than 2 years ago…
    and I only get 400…

    Verrrrrry odddddddddd….

  410. Michael (Christie For Governor) says:

Walt, please you are embarrassing me, I thought there weren’t that many strange people on here besides Bunu and Rocky

  411. Michael (Christie For Governor) says:

@416 I am certain it is, tell me do you need to take a break from the computer and call your doctor?

  412. Walt, HHR Senator, formerly known as Delegate says:

Gen. Custer supposedly stupid enough to attack a village of 10,000 Indian warriors with his small band of 7th cav?

    Yeah, RIGHT!!!

  413. Bitterlaw says:

Speak truth to power, Walt. Don’t let the little man get you down.

  414. Walt, HHR Senator, formerly known as Delegate says:

And I guess you people believe all that fiction about the Titanic being sunk by an “iceberg”?

    BWAHHHAHAHAHAHHAHA!

    It was a CONSPIRACY!!!!

  415. Bitterlaw says:

Why wear a dress that is so low cut when you have no rack, Amy Pohler? There are no Golden Globes for her.

  416. Walt, HHR Senator, formerly known as Delegate says:

Hiroshima destoryed by one little nuke?

    You gotta be kidding me!!!!

    CONSPIRACY!!!
Done by Truman to divert attention from the REAL cause of FDR’s death!!!

  417. Walt, HHR Senator, formerly known as Delegate says:

My point is that these days everyone thinks everything is some sort of evil and dark conspiracy perpetrated for some insane reason that makes no sense.

  418. Michael (Christie For Governor) says:

Walt, you sound insane, I think there is a reason why you may have lost your re-election by such a high degree

  419. Michael (Christie For Governor) says:

@424 for a second I thought you were a mad man (going along with it to annoy Cory)

  420. Walt, HHR Senator, formerly known as Delegate says:

Michael, I have irrefutable PROOF that you are also Bunu AND Rocky…

AND that I am NOT Walt…

  421. Michael (Christie For Governor) says:

@427 oh my gosh! I must call the authorities! Since jul voted for Kane, I suppose I have no choice but to contact her! Prepare to face the wrath if a Attorney General that only tried 5 cases!

  422. Bitterlaw says:

Walt isn’t Walt and MD isn’t drunk? What can I believe in anymore?

  423. Rockefeller Republican says:

    I am not Michael,
    Martinez/Christie 2016

Oh wait or was that the other way around? Lol

  424. Brandon says:

Congratulations to the Super Bowl Champion New England Patriots.

  425. Michael (Christie for Governor) says:

@429 and Jason isn’t dating Upton

  426. Tim says:

Hey, guys. I normally don’t advertise the show, on here. But tonight, we had Brock McCleary, of Harper Polling on with us. That is one impressive dude. And, as it turns out, he is from the state of Pa. If you get a chance, download the show and listen.

  427. Michael (Christie for Governor) says:

@433 can you please tell me where the show is?

  428. Tim says:

    blogtalkradio.com/kudzu

We have all of the shows archived on the site, Michael. Tonight’s show should be there, within 30 minutes, or so.

  429. Michael (Christie for Governor) says:

    Thank you Tim

  430. Bitterlaw says:

Tim – I am boycotting the show until you book me and MD. i think the charter Philly A-holes would be a huge hit in Georgia.

  431. Tim says:

You won’t even support a fellow GOP Pa. resident? That’s cold, Bitterlaw. LOL

  432. HHR Senator AuthorLMendez, El Patron says:

Brandon don’t depress us so fat now,

    Ravens over Cheatriots
    49ers over Falcons

book it, bro vs bro is happening this year

  433. Bitterlaw says:

Good news, Tim – I hate the Falcons more than the 49ers. Yu won’t even need to watch the game. That guarantees that the Falcons are going to the Super Bowl.

  434. Michael (Christie for Governor) says:

@440 bitter thank you, the southern division is happy that it is sending the Falcons, (I hate them!!!!!!) to the Superbowl

  435. Walt, HHR Senator, formerly known as Delegate says:

More than half of the students in my wife’s first grade class this year have first names that include the letter “j” or “h” or both.

    What does this indicate?

  436. Michael (Thompson for Congressman) says:

Walt, don’t start thinking of a mass exodus yet. I must go through college first.

  437. Bitterlaw says:

442 – They discovered the middle third of the alphabet in West Virginia?

  438. lisab says:

“I doubt LisaB would take issue with it. She might argue against it for the sole purpose of seeing Team Evangelical go cookoo bananas, but in her heart, I doubt she truly objects.”

how would objecting to schools closing on two JEWISH holidays upset evangelicals?

besides, i doubt the schools are teaching jewish religious ideas in science class

  439. Walt, HHR Senator, formerly known as Delegate says:

This is in response to fladem who refuses to believe that Lincoln ever supported or pushed the idea of shipping Blacks out of the U.S.

    Fact…a terrible thing to waste….

    http://www.history.com/news/10-surprising-civil-war-facts

“7. Both before and during the Civil War, Abraham Lincoln pushed to send freed slaves abroad.
The policy, called colonization, had been supported by Thomas Jefferson, James Madison, Andrew Jackson, Henry Clay—a hero of Lincoln’s—and even Harriet Beecher Stowe, whose protagonists in “Uncle Tom’s Cabin” ultimately emigrate from the United States to Africa. In August 1862, Lincoln brought five black ministers to the White House and told them that slavery and the war had demonstrated that it would be “better for us both, therefore, to be separated.” He wanted to send freed blacks to Central America, even calling for a constitutional amendment authorizing Congress to pay for colonization. But prominent abolitionists such as Frederick Douglass and William Lloyd Garrison were appalled by the idea. Lincoln never succeeded at gathering support for the policy, and after he signed the Emancipation Proclamation he never mentioned it publicly again.”

  440. Bitterlaw says:

Walt – too bad the owners of the Southern Death Camps a/k/a plantations didn’t want to talk to Lincoln.

  441. Walt, HHR Senator, formerly known as Delegate says:

    Yes Bitter.

Lincoln made a big mistake. He did not have to raise a big army to defeat the south.

All he had to do was let the south self destruct economically. Why, they were spending all this good money to buy lots of slaves to use as work animals which they then would mistreat and kill and then buy more slaves etc., etc.

Their plantation economy could not have have sustained such economically suicidal behavior.

Not sure why the plantation owners did not do the same with their horses (buy, mistreat, die; buy, mistreat, die)

  442. Michael (Christie for Governor) says:

    @448 they probably did

  443. Bitterlaw says:

Flat, floppy women took over the Golden Globes tonight.

  444. Bitterlaw says:

Jodie Foster just admitted she is gay. That is like the Titanic admitting it sank.

  445. Aaron says:

For a strange reason, I decided to dial up this site again. Maybe the Ravens winning made me think of it.

Ah well, I see this blog is still up to its old tricks…. My old gf Lisa is still here, even.

This past few years must have been really tough for you all and the forthcoming 4 are going to be worse :-(

    –Aaron

  446. lisab says:

still working in the salt mines?

  447. Bitterlaw says:

Aaron is back? If Kwame and GoDUKE!!! reappear, we will party like it’s 2007.

  448. Bitterlaw says:

    Maybe 2005.

  449. Aaron says:

“still working in the salt mines?”

Not exactly, but closer to them than I was…

“we will party like it’s 2007.”

    Weren’t those the days?

  450. Bitterlaw says:

Tere’s new crop of Hedgehoggers. Damn kids. Get off my lawn!

  451. ??????? says:

    ???????????????????

  452. Diogenes says:

Not as bad as they will be for socialist kid who will be a part of the generation that will pay for this nonsense. Of course, its likely you’ll just try to pass the buck either personally or to the next generation.

  453. ????????? says:

    ???????????????????

  454. Tim says:

    Ah, Aaron returns, eh?

  455. Tim says:

    “My old gf Lisa”?????

Yikes! Now, I know where he’s been; in treatment.

  456. HHR Senator AuthorLMendez, El Patron says:

I had a little under 3 hours of sleep last night and now here I am in for 9 hours of work. God help me.

Watched the Globes last night like Bitter apparently did. Boy they make the Academy Awards look like a Glenn Beck show with how bad their bias is. Let’s admit it, Lena Dunham and her show “Girls” only won because of her creepy “let’s have sex with Obama” or w/e it was ad. The Palin bashing was over the top as well, it’s been 4 years. Let it go. I’m not even a Palin fan but my God, talk about getting off to hating someone. Argo and Les Miserables were alright but Lincoln and Silver Linnings Playbook (saw it over the weekend, that makes 6 movies out of the 9 nominated that i’ve seen) should have gotten more love.

  457. Bitterlaw says:

Author – by the end, I just wanted to see which A-cup chick would flash the audience.

  458. HHR Senator AuthorLMendez, El Patron says:

@464 the boobage was definitely missing this year

  459. jason says:

    Drift
