Capito Dominates in WV, Franken Leads in MN
Some good polling news for Republicans in the state of West Virginia from Harper Polling, where a new poll has Republican Moore Capito well ahead of three potential Democrats.

Of course, it won’t be long before self-proclaimed conservative groups start calling Capito a RINO. In fact, Club for Growth already started this drumbeat last year. This poll was done…well I don’t know when it was done since Harper Polling did not include this in their article (come on Harper, these are basic items that any article on a poll should have)….
Meanwhile, Public Policy Polling followed up on their poll of Maine with a new poll for the state of Minnesota showing Al Franken in good shape for re-election.

I am sure Al Franken would be chomping at the bit to take on Bachmann in a General Election. If she were to jump in the US Senate race, the primary poll seems to suggest he would get his wish. This poll was done January 18-20 among 1065 registered voters and 275 Republican primary voters.

Exit polls say Netanyahu and Allies have won- albeit somewhat narrowly (the Israeli equivalent of “No Labels” had a surge into 2nd place). But the Israeli soldier vote is still out (not factoring into exit polls), and considering the size of the IDF relative to the population, and its right-leaning inclinations, implies the right will outperform the polls a bit as well.

Go Captio! I think Captio is an excellent choice, the GOP needs to broaden the women and minority base to challenge the democrats. Captio is the perfect chance.

Harpers numbers when you dig deeper just show that WV is out of the democratic column possibly forever after the last of the state democrats leave office,

Cory – I only watched maybe 5 episodes. In case you were wondering, my favorite episode was the one where somebody came in with a mysterious illness and nobody could figure out the cause until Dr. House did something that the hospital administrator told him not to do.
That was a good one. House was cranky the whole time, if I remember, except for a few moments where he experienced dark amusement.
It was interesting how the illness really turned out to be a symptom of hiding a traumatic secret.

John Overington has been around a long time and I think was a personal friend of Author Boreman, WV’s 1st governor.

Good news from WV….the news is expected from Minn…it’s Minn.
If the GOP started to moderate itself, it would stand a good shot at making a comeback. Have to face the facts, you can’t get someone conservative on all 3 planks in the majority of the country anymore. You need to go 2/3 in the midwest and border states and 1/3-1/2 in the coastal areas.
A little bit more economic populism in the midwest, hispanic-friendly in border states, socially/economically liberal in blue states.
I don’t know if the GOP can pull this off. The party is smaller and more conservative and the mainstream media does everything in its power to make sure more moderates join the party and help us with more electable candidates in the general.
The John Birch wing of the party that hijacked the tea party has really done a number on the brand, and that’s after Dubya’s 2nd term already tarnished it.
