Sonny Perdue Leads GOP Field in GA
With the now open US Senate Seat in Georgia, we have a new poll from GA Pundit that shows Sonny Perdue would top a potential Republican field.
US SENATE – GEORGIA – GOP PRIMARY (GA Pundit)
Sonny Perdue 22%
Karen Handel 15%
Paul Broun 10%
Tom Price 10%
Lynn Westmoreland 8%
Tom Graves 6%
Brian Kemp 3%
This poll was done January 26-27 among 1027 registered voters.

First, like the Bolts and Heat in their divisions
Price or Handel, please.
Love Paul Broun but he is not electable statewide.
Sonny Perdue is a little too establishment for a state as red as Georgia.
Michael,
You know your handle. She is running for LG, not Governor.
The 2600 word article that set the tone for today’s “lively” atmosphere:
My take on Castor vs Corbett 2014
http://pennsylvaniaconservative.com/commissioner-castor-the-clear-common-sense-conservative-choice-over-corbett-part-1/
Love Paul Broun but he is not electable statewide.
Neither is Bruce Castor but that won’t stop Jul.
“Neither is Bruce Castor”
He’s a damn side more moderate than I am.
He’s to Corbett’s right on Labor, to the left (barely) on Abortion (though he never, ever talks about it).
Hey, you know who lost MontCo in 2010? Tom Corbett (also, Pat Toomey).
I am fine with either Handel or Perdue. I would take Handel, but Perdue has much more experience.
@6 so did Santorum
They had to “Tiger-proof” the courses just to keep up with me.
” so did Santorum”
Santorum wouldn’t stfu about abortion and gay marriage.
I’ve never heard Castor talk about either issue. Ever.
Corbett, on the other hand, to women: “just close your eyes” during transvaginal ultrasounds that he wants to make mandatory!
@10 never heard him say that. I want to hear more about this Castor however.
Bitter, what else can you tell me, a soon to be PA Voter, about this Castor person
but Perdue has much more experience.
-Yes, that is always the best thing in politicians. It seems the longer they stay, they keep getting more conservative.
Corbett http://blogs.mcall.com/capitol_ideas/2012/03/anger-grows-over-corbetts-just-close-your-eyes-comments-on-mandatory-ultrasound-bill.html
Michael,
Just read the article I wrote. I go into detail on both candidates.
I’ll go with Handel.
********************
I loved her composition of “The Messiah”.
I never liked Castor’s ……oil.
Perdue was a good governor and would be a good moderate conservative vote…
Re golf…Tiger may win in SD, but the Farmers is a far cry from a major…he may win a couple more but he’s still a classless act…Let’s hope Jack’s record for major wins remains intact.
Re SB, Ray Lewis remains complicit in two murders…his evangelical fervor can’t purge away his sins. Now Flacco seems like an ok bloke, but Niners will win 42-24.
Happy Monday all… Christie/Martinez ’16!
I met Rep. Rapp lat time I was in Harrisburg. I don’t think this will hurt him politically
Classical music joke?
Don’t hear enough of those.
Of course, Walt’s the only one here who’s old enough to remember hearing Handel playing on the Harpsichord at his christening.
Bruce Castor helped destroy the Montgomery County Republican Party. Jul thinks he can win statewide even though he couldn’t unite his county party.
Walt,
Great work. Thanks!
“I met Rep. Rapp lat time I was in Harrisburg.”
I know Kathy well. In her district, the issue doesn’t matter.
It will kill Corbett in November next year.
Bitterlaw, then why would Jul support a manwho ruins GOP county affiliates?
if the Ravens win it’ll add another failed prediction to the column of Rocky
Jul wants Corbett to lose. This is the voice of the Lehigh Valley intellectual.
Bruce Castor helped destroy the Montgomery County Republican Party. Jul thinks he can win statewide even though he couldn’t unite his county party.
Comment by Bitterlaw
Yeah, it was Castor who sided with a Democrat because of his loyalty to an unrepentant felon.
Oh wait, no, that was the other guy.
Why do you blame Castor for it? He got the most votes and saved Matthew’s @ss.
Matthews stabbed Castor in the back.
“Yeah, it was Castor who sided with a Democrat because of his loyalty to an unrepentant felon”
little close to home, huh Jul?
“little close to home, huh Jul?”
I’ve never voted for a Democrat to be chairman of my Board…unlike Bob Asher devotee Jim Matthews.
@24 and a drop out
Yet you vote for democrats to prosecute the people of PA???
It is kind of odd to see Bitterlaw defending Corbett, in this instance. That video and that bill is usually something that would have Bitterlaw and several others saying we don’t need these type of deadenders.
Democrats actually prosecute people? Colour me shocked.
Good afternoon, HHR.
Jul – A better politician would not have pissed off Matthews. There was plenty of blam to go around but since you have decided that you want Corbett to lose, you will look to Saint Castor to lead the party to defeat after a ruinous primary fight.
“democrats to prosecute the people of PA?”
Nope. Just to prosecute the Governor.
“A better politician would not have pissed off Matthews.”
Asher said jump. Matthews said “how high?”
Castor is blameless.
Jul voted for, but did not support, the AG who promised to prosecute Corbett.
Jul says Rep Rapp is riff raff.
Ruff, ruff–who let the dogs out?
*******************************
Sorry. I guess this is off topic.
But I just don’t care….
“but he’s still a classless act”
GFY. I’ll bet you a million dollars that I am 1000x better at my job than you are at yours.
Support implies that I made a difference in her campaign.
I didn’t endorse her, campaign for her, or send her money and she won by like, 10 percent.
No politician is blameless. Castor could have said, “This sucks,” and just kept about his business. Instead, he bitched and moaned at every opportunity. If only Jul’s fiancee had been an honorable, law-abiding citizen. Jul and I wouldn’t have these fights.
“Jul says Rep Rapp is riff raff.”
I did no such thing. She’s a great state rep.
Something about “thou shalt not bear false whitness”?
Jul probably voted, but did not support, every democrat running statewide last year Bitter.
He probably jas concocted a reason why Vaughan wasn’t good enough.
Has
Bitter,
Those clips of Corbett are pretty bad. Will he have a chance once they start playing that in the suburbs around Villanova?
Jul I don’t have issues w/ voting 3rd party or deciding you want a change as Gov even when he’s of your party, but saying that your vote doesn’t count as support is one of the most ridiculous things I’ve read from anyone on here. I’ve yet to vote for a Democrat in my life but I did vote 3rd party (write-in) once and willing to admit it showed a total lack of support for the Republican candidate in that race.
” Jul and I wouldn’t have these fights.”
Yes we would
I didn’t support Corbett in 04 and I liked Morganelli in 08. I did vote for Corbett in 08 though because we needed a check on Obama if he won.
I would not have supported Corbett in 2010 regardless. Rohrer never did endorse him and I’m a big Rohrer supporter.
@44 exactly, write I our own name if you feel confident
NYC – I didn’t watch it. Corbett has never campaigned about abortion. Jul will cheer the Democrats if they try to hammer Corbett on the issue.
I’m sure GOP primary voters will pick the ones most obsessed with abortion, rape and women’s private parts.
“He probably jas concocted a reason why Vaughan wasn’t good enough.”
I gave money to Diana in 2006 when she was running against Murtha for Congress. She was the only statewide R candidate I really liked (I did vote for Maher as well, though, not in the primary).
I voted:
Romney
Smith (R) for Senate
Kane
Irey-Vaughn
Maher
Dougherty (D) for Congress
And for the R state rep.
“I’m sure GOP primary voters will pick the ones most obsessed with abortion, rape and women’s private parts.”
Between Castor and Corbett, that describes Corbett.
If only Jul’s fiancee had been an honorable, law-abiding citizen. Jul and I wouldn’t have these fights.
Comment by Bitterlaw — January 28, 2013 @ 2:24 pm
Jul, are you still running around with that basket-case cretin? I thought you moved on to an emotional issue-plagued but otherwise physically available chick with a substantial rack. Maybe I have it backwards.
Dougherty (D) for Congress
Comment by JulStol — January 28, 2013 @ 2:31 pm
Bitter, I didn’t know you switched. Sure helped you win this itme, didn’t it?
Words out, Jul supports a democratic controlled congress
” thought you moved on to an emotional issue-plagued but otherwise physically available chick with a substantial rack. Maybe I have it backwards.”
She fell asleep during the Biden-Ryan debate at a public event.
I dumped her thereafter and have been going back and forth between a rotating cast.
Jul you don’t like Congressman Dent yet you vote for the liberal democrat?
“Jul supports a democratic controlled congress”
I will never vote for Charlie Dent.
He will never lose, so I don’t have to.
Besides, he’s a “No-Labels” kinda guy http://Âwww.politicspa.cÂom/Âdent-fitzpatrickÂ-join-no-labelsÂ-problem-solverÂs/45390/
I know how you feel; my wife was open to Romney but turned against the idea during the VP debate due to Ryan’s perceived intractable social conservatism. It’s been downhill ever since, and a divorce is inevitable.
Seriously, just kidding about the divorce, but her sudden switch during an economy like this after praising Mitt during the first debate did cause me to reevaluate my approach to her. At least she did not vote, so i cannot hold a vote for Zero against her.
Jul doesn’t like GOP congress,an because he doesn’t “have” to.
A real true conservative from Lehigh posts amoung us
my girlfriend went from 08 O voter to Romney voter. I have no such issues to keep me up at night GF.
but she did refuse to vote for Mack…
This “rotating cast,” are they by chance drama freaks? Those girls are looser than carnies.
GF – WTF! Would you go up to Batman in the middle of a crowd of reporters and say, “Hello, Mr. Wayne.”
My got my Gma registered. She voted for every republican except Smith. She voted for Casey there.
I’ve seen comments on the internet that Hul was fired by Rep. Dent. However, I have no idea if that is true.
To be honest, Senator, i don’t know that I could have voted for Mack (knowing he was going to lsoe big anyhow); he was just an awful candidate. I hate having wasted the opportunity agianst Nelson, but I cannot say that I am sad to see the Bono-Mack sideshow team ejected from Congress.
@64 that was an incredibly frustrating campaign to watch. i’d almost dare to say McCain tried harder then Mack did to win over FL voters. 6 more years of Nelson is such a tough pill to swallow though.
@64 too bad we can’t get the sideshow, Kingout of Iowa before 2014
61- I thought it was an open secret; you’ve routinely talked of your prior campaign in clear references to when and where it took place as well as against whom. My sincerest apologies for the outing (if one really took place under those circumstances).
DaveW, you can delete that post if need be.
“chance drama freaks?”
One is.
Working on someone who might make an actual good SO too. We’ll see how that goes.
@QuinnipiacPoll: PA 1/28/13 Tim Malloy to discuss PA poll on Gov Tom Corbett & NCAA sanctions put on Penn State after the Sandusky scandal Tue 10a Harrisburg
To be fair to Jul, he does have a lot of lefties hating him so he must do something right.
GF – It is fine. No need to delete anything. I just wanted people to belive I am really Lisa Valdez (it’s a joke about lisab so don’t bother doing a google search, Michael).
“I have no idea if that is true.”
It’s not. His campaign manager later confirmed that it wasn’t true.
@71 already exiting google
” (it’s a joke about lisab”
lisab is kind of a joke all by herself though
I am glad that Jul cleared the record. As I said earlier, if I hated Jul, he would get the Bunu Treatment rather than the nasty back and forth.
NT
Well I am glad the fight was over. Now I can go get some chex mix
the pointless to be here Candian tells us there’s a NT? maybe there is some point in you being here afterall
I suppose that I should be outed now. There was an effort by my groupies in Wisconsin to write me in for Town Treasurer in Farmington. I received somewhere in the neighbourhood of 50 votes, but as I was not an announced W?I candidate, I am pretty sure those votes were tossed out. Pity, as I doubt there are not much more than 100-150 registered voters in that place.
Ga. Pundit? Never heard of ‘em.
