Brown not running for senate
3- Ditto
I think brown fell for PPP push poll and is going to run for governor
Parnell absolutely should run for AK Sen.
Strongest candidate and a Reform minded Conservative to boot.
Miller does not have my support nor will he get it. He lost my respect in 2010 when he dragged out the recount in a fashion that would make AlGore proud.
3 and 4 – Wow. Michael really needs to find something to do on his 18th birthday instead of posting here. I sense a wave of abuse headed his way that has only been held slightly in check due to his status as a minor.
@6 oh great now parnell will lose
He was the best candidate
Bitter, when I am 18 I will be sure to let you know.
I ran 41 laps around the track today
“I ran 41 laps around the track today”
Clearly a bid to secure MD’s endorsement in his next run for HHR office.
Good for you, Michael. I’m on my 7th coke of the day.
Congrats bitter, I like dr.pepper better
For not running for the Senate seat in MA, I hope Scott Brown loses the Governor’s seat!
I’m glad Brown didn’t run since he supports an Assault Weapons ban but I do hope he runs for Governor. He’d be a good fit for his state, not so much for America.
“I ran 41 laps around the track today”
You get around those padded rooms pretty well. Now, let’s see how fast you can sit down in your favorite corner.
Listening to Mark Levin last night, and a Democrat called in. They had a good conversation, then Levin told him he would like to send him one of his books, and asked him if he would want Liberty&Tyranny or Ameritopia. The guy responded by saying, “I’ll take one of each.” So Levin says (paraphrasing), “Oops, I forgot he was a Democrat!”
Very funny moment.
Reed’s Senate Election History:

wow, that’s one racist of senator…oh wait, he’s a democrat…nevermind
#13, hey, speak for yourself, Scott! I’ll be just getting through 8 years of Deval Patrick as my governor.
As bummed as I am about Brown not running, I’ll GLADLY take Scott Brown in that spot here.
Waingro, Brown could be a good governor
20, Always a good idea to be a governor of a state that has only 4 Republicans in its state senate. Though, the number of Mass GOPers in legislature is most since the late 90s.
Another reason why conservatives should oppose the Rubio amnesty

Jul – do you think it would be possible for someone more conservative than Brown to win in MA?
Sometimes, I wonder how many times you were dropped as a baby.
Do you actually read the articles you link when you type your little summery or are you willfully being a lying little attention-whore.
The R’s make the same mistake again and again and again. Utterly stupid.
Dave – will you please unblock my postings from my iphone? Thanks in advance.

Your 8+ years long contributor, MD
“I’m glad Brown didn’t run since he supports an Assault Weapons ban but I do hope he runs for Governor. He’d be a good fit for his state, not so much for America.”
I wonder if the dem that take the seat will support an Assualt Weapons Ban?
I would gladly have taken a Senator Scott Brown part 2 just for the 7 out of 10 issues he would side with me on…and if were were lucky 1 or 2 of the 3 he doesn’t he could vote present or miss the vote for a “personal matter”
Jul, you are clueless.
Jul is the same guy who supported the Donald although he holds many lib positions. Seriously clueless.
Glad I never eat Burger King.
Jul is a True Conservative who support Super Libs. What don’t you understand?
Did Burger King do something to you? Is it because he looks like Howard Eskin?
They admitted to having horse meat in their food, at least in the UK.
I respect Brown’s decision not to run, but I would not applaud it. The same Republicans applauding Brown’s exit are also scratching their head over Senators McCaskill and Donnely. The one exception, where I was glad to see the Republican get beat, was when Chaffee lost in 2006. He was doing more harm than good by going out on the talk shows every week, bashing his own party. The media absolutely adored him. Brown is nothing like Chaffee, and I would rather have his vote 60% of the time as opposed to 0% of the time with a D. BTW Bitter, I saw Lafayette was able to knock off Lehigh last week. Are you ready for Duke?
Is that worse than other Enlish food? I like English food.
You have some phugged up taste buds
The real question is whether Duke is ready for Lafayette? Probably.
As for Brown, I never get upset if somebody doesn’t choose to run. People don’t owe anybody a obligation to campaign 24/7 for months -especially people who don’t live in the state. I wish he ran and won but I can’t be mad if he wants a life,

-Bless your heart, Tim V. It is nice to see another poster keeping an open mind.
And I hope you are feeling well!
I like potatoes and hamburger meat. I despise most vegetables. If I went to Rome I would look for a McDonald’s. The only Italian food I ever order is gnocchi with meat sauce. I never claimed to be even close to normal.
Lightened up my equity exposure by 6% today. The market is way too rich and the recent surge has been solely due to PE expansion, not earnings. Not sure when this will end but it will end abruptly and hard.

Ah, gee………
I’m glad Tim V is back. I hope he has an alibi for the disappearance of Lisab.

Tim V! Glad to see you in the house!
MD – your BurgervKing reference made me think back to when Eskin had a radio career. He was constantly having to hang up on people who shouted,”hey, Burger King,” Andy”wolfman” at him. I met him once – complete d-bag.
MD – you couldn’t handle my diet. The basic groups are salt, butter, meat, potatoes, coke and chocolate milk.
He is a complete D=ckhead Bitter. My cousin ran a softball charity event for Cancer in 1985 and Eskin was supposed to be the big celebrity attendee. He skipped it because “he felt like playing another 18″.
I used to harass him on his radio show. I would call and say things like “Howard, what is the line telling you on Slippery Rock versus Shippensberg”? He thought my “real name” was Dennis. One day, back in 03, he said he was going to give out my phone number. My response which actually made it on air was this “how many lawsuits can you possible lose at once”?
Tim,
Schumer was already backtracking on enforcement. MD, through the sheer force of his personality, has turned me into a fan of the deal. Can you try to get your side in line, so Rubio can follow through as you hoped he would?
47 – For years I lived on Vodka, beer, steak and spaghetti.
49 – you still misread my message. I am NOT a fan of the deal. I just understand what Rubio is doing politically and it is very smart. That is something that R’s are not overly familiar with these days. I doubt the D’s are taking border security seriously. Unfortunately, we have lost the debate, 100% with the fastest growing segment in the U.S. and will be seen that way unless we finesse the issue. Losing 7 out of 10 will seem like the good old days in 8 years if the perception of R’s by the Latino community doesn’t change.
Bitterlaw,
At lunch today, we had pasta with eggplant, with chicken parm, and with a meat sauce. We had 2 sandwiches: Roast beef&Mozz, filet of sole&broccoli rabe.
We also had a side of broccoli rabe, sauteed in olive oil and garlic, with plenty of italian bread to mop up the oil.
Delicioso!
A friend of mine represented Eskin in an auto accident, he rear ended a guy on the Schuykill. My friend won the case because he proved the guy wasn’t hurt. For a week, he talked about his great lawyer and ranted about lawsuits. Bthen he went back to being a douche.
#49:
I think they’ll do a deal. I really do.
Just do one favor for me. Please explain to bunu why Marco Rubio is the perfect Senator, out of all the Senators, to lead the debate on this issue. I’m tired of beating my head against the f***ing wall, trying.
Tim – it is going to be a tough go in the House. Something could pass but it won’t be anything near what we are hearing now. Nor should it be imo.
NYC – an entire menu of things Inwouldn’t eat. I’m not a food guy. I’m not a wine guy, either. Last week my wife asked me to buy red wine. I guessed that Pinot noir is sort of red because noir means black and the bottle was dark.
Bunu really does unite us all. I have to give him credit for that.
56 – I am more of a cab guy but Kendall Jackson makes a great drinking Pinot Noir. Not too expensive either.
Bitterlaw,
Red wine – Carlo Rossi Paisano
Best $5 you can spend, and you get like a gallon!
He comes here to get attention. In real life he has never been laid.
Real (biometric) ID will have your savings and income tied directly to your biometric identity.
Politicians have lots of favors to dish out, programs to blow money on, and party loyalists to reward.
This requires better tax slaves so national ID can help there.
Cabernet with a nice steak – MD, you had me at “go back and argue with Michael!”
I buy wine based on whether it has an animal on the label. So far, penguins, kangaroos, cheetahs and monkeys seem to be popular.
Well, the 49ers (from Frisco of all places) have the gays in an uproar. I was thinking Ravens by 3 but now am going to increase it to 7. All the gay guys playing for the Ravens will have extra incentive now.

Never been laid? Ron Paul has been f*cking with his mind for years.
Glad to see a post by Tim V.
After more than 20 years, the Clintons are finally out of Washington and out of office.
Persistence pays off.
62 – Here was my diet in Toronto at night (The Keg at Richmond and York – had this meal at least 100 times over a 2 year period):
16 oz NY Steak with peppercorn sauce – rare
Asparagus
Baked Potato – Load up the butter please
Lave Cake
Oh, and a couple of pieces of bread.
3 9 oz glasses of Cabernet – Jackson Triggs (I think – it is a bit of a haze).
67 – if the bytch is still breathing in 16, we may see her again.
Tim V is ill and Bunu is healthy. There is no justice. Yeah – I said it.
70 – over the line but since it is him you can an exemption.
Like Obamacare, Gun Registration, and now the Rubio Amnesty.
Proves my point that every single bill out of D.C. is bad.
Never seen a good one.

-Charlie Munger (Warren Buffett’s partner) is a big fisherman. He tells a story about when he went to buy some lures. At the store, the lures were all differnet colors, and shapes, and other things. So he asks the owner of the store, “Do you really think all of these different things help catch the fish?”
The owner told him, “I really don’t know, because I ain’t selling them to the fish!”
Moral of the story: Bitter knows how to act like a billionaire. Now, he just has to get the money.
That is why MD is having issues at work. He fired his assistant – Mr. Goose.
Hello
J Lohr, Seven Oaks. A very good Cab and can be bought for about $17.
Always buy a Cab that is at least 3 years old.

The stains won’t be as sticky!
Bitter – the wing bowl chicks seem to get skankier every year.
I oppose the Rubio plan b/c it will obviously end with barcodes on our foreheads and subdermal microchips that tell the government how many cheeseburgers we eat…obviously!
Why can’t you guys see that!!!!
OMG, I just hurt a helicopter

Dude, I used to hang with the Orange Sunshine crowd, back in the day.
And, I wasn’t as freaky on chemicals, are you are, now.

I am against getting animals drunk for testing purposes so I only buy wine that has no animals on the bottle. I have a heart.
Before Bunu whines, I did not tell him to commit suicide. I just wished he had cancer.
oops. That should read, “as you are, now”
“Proves my point that every single bill out of D.C. is bad.”
What about the ones Ron Paul voted for?
oh, those are fine
What about Rand Paul’s bills?
Tim – really? My Aunt was involved in that (I am being serious). She was a follower of Leary’s. As she got older, she figured out he was full of chit on a lot of things but still admired him.
Of course, she is still a huge lib today.
That’s right, folks. bunu has figured it all out. Sen. Rubio is actually a secret Liberal, bent on the destruction of the GOP. He just plays a Conservative Hispanic on television.
Why can’t you people just heed the warning?
they’re ok too…
The Kensington contingent just gets worse every year. For those of you who don’t know, Kendington is the white ‘hood in Philadelphia. The girls are beat – unless you like scars. When MD said he would rather do a Kensington hooker than Chekote, that told a lot about Chekote.
Yeah, I was pretty wasted back then, MD. I’m still looking for the year, 1974. I lost it, somewhere.
I was in kindergarten in 1974. I don’t think you missed much.
Tim – that is the general time frame.
“do you think it would be possible for someone more conservative than Brown to win in MA?
Sometimes, I wonder how many times you were dropped as a baby.”- MD
No, I don’t. I’m glad we won’t have a Republican giving “bipartisan” cover to the Dems on the issue.
A Democrat will vote like a Democrat. I expect Democrats to be Progressives.
I do not expect the same from my party. If a Republican supports Progressivism, I’m just as happy to see them elsewhere.
“are you are” or “is you is” my baby!!??
Jul, I take the senate seats where I can get them. Brown was a good guy, as far as I am concerned your comment was plain ludicrous
100
You know what? I think she was involved a bit earlier than that. I am thinking late 60′s to early 70′s. By 74 she was in a cult (yes) in Idaho (who knew?). We lost touch with her for about 8 years. Then she left the cult and got hooked on Cocaine. She went from a hippie chick to a club chick. Multiple rehabs before cleaning up and becoming a counselor to addicts. Married a rich Doctor in the early 90′s and now lives in Jupiter, FL. She has led a very interesting life.
98 – You are happy being a stupid moron. To each his own.
http://movies.yahoo.com/news/sylvester-stallone-supports-assault-weapon-ban-212011998.html
99 Dems and Senator Jul. all those 99-1 votes will send a message!
Jul would rather have Democrats. I know his math SAT was weak but I thought he could see that 51 is better than 43.
Late 60′s to early 70′s, MD? If she and I didn’t run into each other, we each met a 100 people like each other.
Of course, I don’t remember half of them.
She liked doing lines, eh? And, I imagine she ran up, too. I was always looking for something for the head. Blues were my favorite. Unfortunately, a side effect of them is that hey produced blackouts, and memorr lapses. Thus, the “1974″ crack I made.
2 people who were whacked out on drugs are Libs now. Shocking.
i bought a box of wine- 5 liters. drink every day for a week. i didnt used to be a lush. will stop soon
Jul, I understand you liking Conservatives. But, in Massachusetts, someone more conservative than Brown probably could not win a statewide race, right now. So, it’s understandable why moderates dominate the GOP, there.
#108:
Actually, most of my running buddies from then are one of two things:
1. Conservative
2. Dead
Remember, Bitterlaw, this is the South. LOL
Tim V, I’ve been thinking about you, buddy. Just wanted you to know that.
Tim – she claims that a couple years of her life are pretty much a blank. However, she always kept a journal so she actually knows what was going on. She did NOT keep a journal while she was in the weird cult because they didn’t allow it. The lady was a complete mess for a long time. I can remember being 17 and watching her hit on one of my friends at my house. Asked him if he had any Coke. It was sad. She weighed about 90 pounds by that point. This was 83. The cycle carried until 88 or 89. Then the rehab finally took. Completely turned her life around. Votes straight D but preaches self reliance. She is now 66 years old which is just crazy to me.
Tim V – I am glad to see you post here. Enjoy the wine. Don’t worry about it.
Tim – understanding Jul is like trying to understand Bunu. It can’t be done.
Understanding Jul is like trying to eat soup with a fork.
Lets say the the perfect legislator voting-wise scores 100% and is a Republican and the the worst scores a 0% and is a Dem….
But Republicans that are 90-100% can only be elected in AL, TX, ND, WY, MS, UT, OK, ID, LA, NE, AR, KS, MT, SD, GA, SC, AK and TN
Republicans that are 80-90% can be elected in NV, AZ, CO, WI, OH, KY, IN, WV, NC, VA, FL, NH, MO, and IA
Republicans that are 70-80% can be elected in MI, PA, MN, IL, and NM
Republicans that are 60-70% can be elected in OR, WA, NJ, CT, ME
Republicans that are 50-60% can be elected in VT, DE, MD, NY, CT, CA, MA, HI
*These numbers assume the person is not an idiot like Akin, Murdock, Miller, Buck, ect…they will not be elected
I would rather have the 55% in MA with a Scott Brown than the 1% of Sen. Fauxcahontas
Yep, we lynch liberal
There are alot of Red states that I put at the top tier for electing good conservative and they have Dem senators and governors…why is that you ask? Because they aren’t as stupid as Jul and expect to be able to nominate Bernie Sanders type democrats for the sake of purity.
Jul admitted years ago that he uses the GOP to get on the ballot. Who else says that? Cough…Paulbots…cough.
I agree with those percentages, SoHope. Looks about right.
In my opinion, the two Parties should always adopt a “big tent” philosophy. We have had ideological purges in my Party in the past, as well. Imagine now, Rep. Barrow trying to run as a Dem in a big city would.
It would be laughable. And, he’d be “ex-Rep.”, and quickly.
It is time for a new candidate. Donate for Elizabeth Moffly for Congress in the SC CD-1 speical election!
Anyone seen House of Cards on Netflix? Thinking about checking it out.
Did everyone die or get a life?
sighhhhh…..not dead yet
All the talk I’ve heard or read on that show, MD, is about how good Kevin Spacey is, in it. I bet it would be worth the watch.
A life? I am watching 4 Weddings on TLC with my wife. At 9:00 I get Spartacus. What can I do? I’m not rich. My pancreas is a fossil. If I have to watch brides grade each other’s cocktail hours to get it, it’s worth it.
I’m watching Sienna play Manhattan while I’m drinking.
A full evening…..
Barney Bush, former First Dog of the United States, has died.
And, I’m still worried about lisab. Wonder what’s up, with her?
Who knows Tim?
I just saw it that on MSNBC, Yolanda.
They said they are investigating to see if Mitt Romney had any involvement.
Lisab had some health issues last year. I hope it isn’t serious. I think that we need to have somebody post our status if we … MD will let you know if anything happens to me (right after he hides the shovel).
@133 how will anyone know about me? Should we just give our real names to Dave and he can report it?
Definitely, if one of you guys vanishes, Bitterlaw, I’m questioning the other one. LOL
If anything happens to Bunu, his mom will let me know.
#134:
Dave, and most everyone else here already knows my real name. So, I’m set.
Actually, I’m too well-known, here. LOL
Michael – if you disappear, we will just call the Penn State basketball arena. Where else do you go?
Governor Bitterlaw, why not come up with a plan for us to know
Tim’s real name is Lisa Bee. It is pretty ironic.

But seriously, I do miss the regulars, when they are gone. It’s not like lisab to just be gone, without a word.
Several of us here, who have been here a long time have taken our leave at some point, for various reasons. But, we always announced it.
It’s just wierd. Of course, she could be reading all of this, and laughing her slender ass off. I dunno….
Maybe she really was a pizza delivery boy in Fargo, like I once guessed.

re: #134 and #139
Life ends, Michael. It Ends.
As you’re lying in the street, bleeding out from the car accident, your last thought will not be “How will everyone on HHR know I’m dead?”
117-5/6 NJ Reps are in the 70-80% range based on the way the districts are drawn. Garret is more in the 90-100% range. The Garret range is a more purist than the rest of NJ. He had to be humiliated into voting for the Sandy relief package. Apparently in NJ Chirs Christie is way more powerful than Jim Demint. Garret learned the hard way. Maybe the GOP should be thankful that NJ is a 6/6 split congressionally, rather than berate the congressional delegation from NJ.
My numbers were guess-timations for state-wide offices like Gov or Senate.
#146:
LMAO!!!!!!!!!!!!
Giving some thought to running for council this year.
They’re having issues recruiting candidates and I’ve been asked.
Final thoughts of HHR Regulars:
Bunu – 50 years on HHR and I only got 1/2 a Jul…
MD – I ran all those miles, gae up Goose and ate skinless chicken ad I’m still dying? WTF….
lisab – Jesus? Oh, @#$##@#$
SusyQue – Buddah? Oh, @#$##$$
jason – Death? Is that all you got?!
Just leave he seat blank. You’re never going to vote yes on anything anyway.
@150 what council?
Bitterlaw, I am probably not considered an HHR regular. How long do I have to wait to earn hat membership?
150 – Do they know you are not pure? That you supported Trump and were critical of a fellow R’s effort to control spending and that you favor a strong central gov?
@ppppolls: Steve King up about 25 pts on Tom Latham on the first night of our Iowa poll
You are a regular now. You’re just not in the Hall of Fame. I’m not posting death thoughts of 17 year olds. Even I have a line.
@155 and that he is going to leave the office the first chance he gets to run for a state office
@157 that must really piss you off.
You have to post for 5 years to even be considered for the Hall of Fame. The first induction ceremonies back in 09 were awesome!
It’s the Lehigh Valley, MD. Their Pure Conservatives oppose the Governor and demand the end of local control of schools in favor of Harrisburg control and funding.
I wonder, who was the first person to post on HHR
When I look at the Lehigh area in 2010 it supported Corbett
It was Dave or his brother Stephen I think.
Good night,
I am now glad that I am a regular
I still remember MD’s speech. As the crowd roared its approval, MD shouted, “Give me Goose or GFY!”
@ppppolls: Iowa voters also strongly behind the assault weapons ban on our first night of polling cc: @ChuckGrassley
I am now glad that I am a regular
You can check out any time but you can never leave.
It was the shortest acceptance speech to date. The best though, imo of course.
Tim’s speech was pretty good – “Hall of Fame? LOL. Time to go.”
Went to seethe movie “The Hobbit”.
Thought it sucked. Seriously.

I had a hard time understanding/hearing the audio and what the characters were saying.
Who would ever write a book and call thier main character Dildo Baggins?
“Someone altered Fulton County voter records after last year’s presidential election, using a red pen to add names to tally sheets of voters using paper ballots and marking that their votes all counted.
Who is responsible remains a mystery, but it happened after managers from at least two precincts had signed off on the documents and submitted them to the main county elections office.”
It was obviously the Masons, Walt.*
*Maybe I watch too much History Channel.
Good morning
More final thoughts of HHR regulars:
MFG – Senator Landreau beat Jindal? Aaaarghhhh
Tina – [classified]
GF – my stomach really hurts…
Add – Cutler really was a p*ssy
Phil – Bitter was right. I really don’t like minorities.
Brandon – a2 + b2 doesn’t = c2. Noooooooooooo
Bunu should never be allowed to say good morning

Good news – I Spent the game running the scoreboard with one of my favorite MILFs. She is the mother of a boy on the other team. She is a doctor and has a great rack. Dr. MILF worked the book.
Michael – post 180 is why you need to get out and have fun. Before you know it, the highlight of your day will be working the scorer’s table with a mom in her 40s.

4 minutes of a floor speech by a U.S. Senator–well worth your time to see.
In fact going to the movies with my friends soon

BTW,
concerning “The Hobbit”–
I did not know that trolls were so BIG, nor that they spoke with British accents, were very interesting in cooking, and would turn to stone when hit by the suns rays.
So it was a learning experience and the trip to the movie theatre was not a total waste.
How the heck do I make one comment in the last 18 hours, and it comes directly after Walt posts a Rand Paul video??
And Walt, do you feel you are up to the challenge of being labeled a Paulbot by the Lt Gov?? (I’ll refrain from using the last name of the Lt Gov, since we are all on the “same side”)
Walt,
How long was the movie? I read the book recently, I think you would need a good 4 – 5 hours to go thru everything, so that the book isn’t chopped up too much.
Remember when Kerry went hunting before the 2004 election and Dukakis road around in a tank before the 1988 election?

@192 I think McConnell is fine where he is
Young Michael,
I am not a Paulbot, and thart is why I did not mention who the U.S. Sen. was in the vid.
Some would not click and view JUST becuse it was Rand Paul.
But I thought what he said in this regard is “dead on” and mirrors what happens in state legislatures oft times regarding the bad process of how legislation comes about.
*************
One of the benefits of no longer being in elective office, when the eventual public uprising happens they will not be coming to my house with the clubs pitchforks, feathers and vats of boiling oil.
@192 I think McConnell is fine where he is
-Of course you do. You’ll wait for 40 other Senators to vote against him, and then you’ll start saying how bad he is.
@196 nope, I think he is fine and very tactful.
@195 okay Walt.
GF?
NYCMike I am wondering why you are not comfortable with Sen McConnell?
I never read “The Hobbit” nor the other books in this trilogy (thank God)–but my wife and many of my firends did.
I would LOVE to have Gandalf be my buddy for one day to use his powers to my benefit.
**************
BTW why did the elves not get along with the dwarves?
When I was cleaning out the garage I found a long walking stick that looked very much like the one Gandalf used.
I think I will go try it out…
So the White House finally released a photo of a skeet-shooting Obama.
If the picture is real, Obama’s form is awful and he could seriously hurt himself.
Not a big Mitch fan and never have been. Would like to see Johnson from Wisc head the R’s in the Senate but they seem to stick with seniority for some reason.
@204 I thin he is okay, because he has helped the party get out of these holes and has been able to do something that Boehner hasn’t. He has shut up many crazies and and taken some control of the GOP
BTW why did the elves not get along with the dwarves?
Comment by Walt
Because the dwarves vote 71-29 for Demcrats. It’s the same reason Phil doesn’t like Hispanics.
Uh, no. Boehner is the one who I admire. He was smart enough to know that that fisc cliff would have been pinned 100% to the R’s and moved the line to 450K. Now, they have to stick on the debt ceiling. We will see.
PPP will build up King now to destroy him later.
Yawnnnnn…….
“A new poll from Public Policy Polling shows that Ron Paul has taken the lead in the Iowa caucus race, while Newt Gingrich’s support is fading fast. A different Gallup poll shows Gringrich still holding the lead, but slipping, while The New York Times Nate Silver of FiveThirtyEight has Paul in the lead as well.”
Obama supports the 2nd Amendment, he just doesn’t own any guns.
Oh wait, that’s Governor Bitter.
I also don’t own a printing press or a church but I do support the First Amendment.
Why are you picking on Phil? Did he make fun or your Pancreas or something?
I just assembled the snowblower ( I think). Thatt means 75 degrees and sunny in Pennsylvania for the rest of the winter.
My pancreas is dead to me.
@207 I agree, I like Boehner. But the idiots in congress can’t be controlled, McConnell controls almost all the GOP in the senate with the exceptions of Paul and Lee. He even has Collins and Murkowski, he les them vote how they wish when he doesn’t need them, but when he needs to show a strong GOP he hast them vote with them
208 – Rinse, repeat, keep doing the same thing. Most are too stupid too notice.
He can be a good pollster but only when he wants to be. I don’t think we will have a cycle like 10 anytime soon so he may look very good for a while.
Phil hasn’t been along with his “embrace the horror” post of the day. I just wanted to draw him out.
There are about 18 Senators who are R’s that cannot stand Mitch. C’mon. Where do you get your stuff?
@216 they may not stand him, but they stay loyal to the party most of the time and vote with him
You can have guns under Obama. Just no bullets. That is like the Nazi’s allowed opposing viewpoints for newspapers but banning ink.
I have to check the schedule to see when we play today’s team again. Dr. MILF is awesome.
@216 many cannot stand Boehner, but unlike the influence McConnel has Boehner has allowed them to run amuck.
Though hanks to Boehner getting 199 GOP to agree, he was able to have a majority of the GOP vote for the debt ceiling bill, less dems voted for it.
Meaning it was a GOP bill, a partial victory for Boehner,
Was prescribed anti-biotics this morning. 3 weeks in and the fight is over. I did run 3x this week though. I will not cave in to sickness! Down 20 pounds now!
1. Let’s have sequestration hit.
2. With the 3 month delay in the debt ceiling, additional cuts be can added to the cuts in sequestration.
Very, very smart politics. Dems are talking more taxes yet again but the public (middle of the road) won’t be with them since that deal was already made.
I think the Dems took a hit when the payroll tax went back up. Alot of people who wanted to “tax the rich” suddenly found out that it sucked when their own taxes went up.
@222 McConnell and Boehner worked together to push Obama and the dems into this trap on the taxes and cuts.
@PollTracker: Susan Collins Job Approval (ME): Approve 63.0% Disapprove 24.0% (Jan. 20 – PPP (D))
We need Collins
Politically, there was no way for the R’s to avoid the increase. That is what happens when you do not control 2/3rds of the levers of power. A clear majority favored increasing taxes on those making $. For the record, I am always against tax increases myself. Talking about reality.
They moved the line far and got an OK deal on the estate tax as well. Now, we have to have cuts (really meaning we decrease the increase of spending).
Still, the R’s are behind the 8 ball politically thanks to the 15% retarded wing. The Dems are beginning to make mistakes though. The second dip at the tax well so close to the first dip is a mistake.
Jul would rather have Lenin than Collins. 99 Dems and Senator Jul!
@226 I can’t wait for sequestration the
Dems will be hurtingafter that, it might be a key player for 2014
“Jul would rather have Lenin than Collins. 99 Dems and Senator Jul!”
Liar. Some time in the past week I said let Collins stay so she helps LePage survive.
Unlike Brown, she doesn’t support an assault weapons ban.
Okay I am going to have a new project for today. I am going to compile all the states that the GOP and the Dems control and I am going to add the offices and state whether it is GOP or Dem controlled.
@229 prove it, donate to her
Michael
You need to get laid bro. I am being very serious about this. Use protection.
RIP Barney Bush
and I 2nd comment #232
btw I just did my taxes. Worst “refund” evah
Taxes will go up again this year. Obama wants it and so it will be. His MSM insures that he will always win every debate in the court of public opinion.
Embrace the horror.
That was for Bitter.
234 – we owe 27K.
Phil – I don’t think so. The American people were fine going to that well once and the polling proved it. The second try at the apple, so close to the first, will not go over well.
MD my view is Americans were so desperate to fix the deficit that they hopped on board w/ the idea that we should tax the richest, but now seeing that the rich aren’t the only ones who will suffer they will get more demanding about actual cuts. Not that i’m holding my breath for the Dems to agree to them.
The stange wooden “walking stick” I found in the garage appears to need batteries.
For a few seconds I did turn the cat into a dog, but it did not last.
Where do you findlow level radiation AAAAAAAAA WHIP @SS batteries?
The Dems, right up to this point, played the game perfectly politically. If they were really smart, the Dems would have realized that they held the cards and could have gotten away with fairly minor “cuts”. Now, they look to be overreaching. Not smart politically but it may be a ploy to negotiate to decrease the cuts.
I must disclose that I have been using grond up deer horn spray to enhance posting performance at HHR.
***********
I also hear that YoMama’s press secretary has also been using it to try to improve his performance at press briefing.
And–if he would be truthful–I bet Michael is as well. He may even be dealing.
MD, you’d think that after getting their tax increase 0bama couldn’t got to the tax well again.
Unfortunately, the MSM will sell it for him through a combination of spin, distortions, omissions, and non stop propaganda.
230. Google it. Someone with even more time on his hands and less than a life than you probably did it already.
The smart Democrats (yeah, there are probably some) realize that for the spending they really want to undertake taxing the rich won’t bring enough revenue.
That’s why it was a Pyrrhic victory for them.
” I also don’t own a printing press or a church but I do support the First Amendment.”
No need to be defensive.
You know the drill. Real, imaginary or perceived weaknesses and traits are never forgotten at HHR.
I will always hail from the slums of South America, Author will always be henpecked, and you will always be a wuss on guns.
And Bunu will always be an anti-semitic America hating bastard.
We must play our part. Of course, MD was supposed to be the angry drunk. Add replaced him.
Stop the presses… breaking news.
” PUNXSUTAWNEY, Pa. (AP) — An end to winter’s bitter cold will come soon, according to Pennsylvania’s famous groundhog.”
This groundhog hit the groundhog lottery. Outside of being awakened in the middle of winter, life is pretty good. A nice burrow, plenty of food, and the outside chance of biting some a-hole mayor’s finger off once a year.
Chances of becoming roadkill or getting eaten by a coyote or a fox: zero.
Is it too early to discuss how President Biden’s first term (starting in 2016) will be different from YoMama’s first or second term?

Actually, she can’t have me. It must be difficult for her.

Alabama- SOLID GOP
Senate seats-2 Republican
Governor- Republican
Representatives- 7 (1 Democrat, 6 Republican)
The governor seat, one senate seat, and all the house seats are up for re-election 2014 the GOP will hold this as a solid GOP state. The democratic house seat does not hinder AL from being Solid GOP because AL is required to have an African American seat and most African Americans lean democrats…
Alaska- Mixed GOP
Senate- 1 Republican, 1 Democrat
Governor- Republican
Representative- At-Large Republican
All but the GOP senate seat is up for re-election in 2014. If the democrats don’t hold on to Begich’s seat they risk making AK a Solid GOP State.
Arizona-Mixed GOP
Senate- 2 Republican
Governor- Republican
Representative- 5 Democrats, Four Republicans
Governors seat and representatives are up for election in 2014, this is mixed GOP because the GOP holds all higher office.
Arkansas-Mixed GOP
Senate- 1 Republican, 1 Democrat
Governor- Democrat
Representative- 4 Republican
Again all but the GOP senate seat is up for grabs, the governor race seems to be the most in play with a former GOP governor going to make a run for it. This state is not at risk of becoming a Solid GOP State unless Sen. Pryor retires or has some skeletons by 2014.
Michael in a few years you could go to jail for hooking up with teens. Right now, you can’t. Enough with the lists.
Bitterlaw, enjoy the lists
@Politics1com: CO CD-6: Ex-State House Speaker Andrew Romanoff (D) launches run vs Cong Mike Coffman (R) in swing district.

I was at a thrift stor in Charlotte and saw a commercial color laser printer priced at $9.98. Toted it to a plug in and it powered up.
Bought it and hooked it up to my network. It works perfectly. It has only printed 2508 images. 1200×1200 dpi, double sided printing, full networking, all four toner cartridges are full.
Used ones are selling on ebay for $399-$435 plus $75 in shipping.

About 5 years ago, I stopped in a thrift store and found a box of old comics. He was selling them for a quarter each. I didn’t know much about comics but the titles were X-Men, Spiderman and Daredevil and they looked fairly old. I bought 30 of them. Went to a dealer in Folsom, PA and sold them for $450 which was about 65% of the listed prices I could find at the time.

California- SOLID DEMOCRAT
Senate- 2 Democrat
Governor- Democrat
Representative- 39 Democrats, 14 Republicans
My reasoning is simple, the GOP has no real grip here, perhaps I’d the GOP evened up the congressional seats to 30-23 then maybe I would switch it to Mixed Democrat. GOP needs to work to get the seats and influence back here. The governor and several statewide offices are up in 2014, if they can’t get the governorship the GOP may get another statewide office and start to build up its influence again.
Colorado- Mixed Democrat
Senate-2 Democrat
Governor- Democrat
Representative- 4 Republican, 3 Democrat
I feel that the GOP keep it Mixed Democrat for the reason that the hold a majority in the congressional delegation.
Connecticut- SOLID DEMOCRAT
Senate- 2 Democrat
Governor- Democrat
Representative- 5 Democrats
The GOP could have a presence here soon with a very unpopular governor and a representative that was pulled along the coat tails of the president. I would move this state to Mixed Democrat if the GOP were to win the Governor seat.
Delaware- SOLID DEMOCRAT
Senate- 2 Democrat
Governor- Democrat
Representative- At-Large Democrat
Basically the GOP needs to rebuild itself here.
Do you think I should just put the new ones on the board for now and then just post all of them on the final post for the series.

Well played, Bronxie. Well played.
I was actually paying $25 a month for HBO/Cinemax. Gone.
Anyone else have FIOS? I am trying to figure out how to get just cable and internet. I don’t want a land line phone anymore. It doesn’t seem to be an option.
I don’t drink and I don’t go out after work. I would cut my insulin dose if I ran low on funds before I cut my cable bill. As for FIOS, I don’t know. I think most companies set it up so it is cheaper to have phone, cable, and Internet together than to only pay for 2.
Make that now 2 Bucs in the Hall Of Fame. Lynch, Brooks, & Barber soon to follow. More respect for the most underrated SB champion and great defense in NFL History
317- Young Frankenstein.
Not so certain about Lynch, Arthur. Safeties is one of those positions that is always overlooked. I think there are only 8 or 9 who were ever inducted. Dawkins is a shoe in. Lynch was a great player (9 time pro bowl) but didn’t have the fame (or infamy) that Sapp had. It could be a while for Lynch.
Lynch also does a nice job as an analyst for Fox.
Bitter – $25 a month for the same movies played over and over again? Their shows also suck now. Happy to get rid of it.
$300 savings for a year is worth it to me. Plus, Bill Mahr. I don’t want to support him, even indirectly.
It’s worth it for me for True Blood. I don’t watch Maher. I see your point about him but I have a separation of entertainment and state policy.
You are going to pay all that money for that show? Buy the box set for $15. I have explored switching to Comcast but when you add all the extras the great deal becomes not so great very quickly. Still, I am not going to go into a contract in case Comcast offers a really great deal at some point. Then I will switch. I need to have at least the same stuff I have today (or better) and save $50 a month.
I am also going to downgrade on my car. I have 21 months left on my lease. I love the BMW but I don’t drive enough to warrant this car. I figure I can save another $125 or so a month with a step down to a Camry or Maxima.
That leaves my gym membership at the Y. We pay $127 a month for family. It is fantastic and gives us use of all the facilities which are state of the art. I will probably continue to overspend on this for a while longer.
This morning I hooked up the “unusual” Gandalf-like walking stick to the car battery.

When we called Verizon yesterday, I hadn’t done the research. Now, I have. I don’t like Comcast personally but I cannot leave $1430 on table. The account is in my wife’s name so I have to wait for her to come home from Church to call.
Anyone have experience negotiating with a cable company? I am going to lay out the cost in detail and ask them to make the decision harder for me. Yesterday, all they would offer was to remove crappy HBO/Cinemax (which I did later myself on-line) and give me $10 a month if I went into a 2 year contract. That just won’t cut it so I am going to try again.
Any suggestions beyond what I have stated above?
If Men were a R, their would have been a public lynching by now.
MD – Ignoring politics, Comcast is a good provider. I have been a customer since 1990. They will add things for free if you threaten to leave. Their internet comes with free virus protection (maybe other companies do it, too.)
Bitter – I always add Norton no matter what for Virus protection. They are, by far, the best. I learned that lesson the hard way.
If Verizon can save me more than half of what I would get by switching, then I will stay. Otherwise, I will have no option.
For children and dog lovers who don’t watch 17 hours of pre-game coverage, Animal Planet has PUPPY BOWL IX! Today at 3:00. In addition to the puppies, there are hamsters, kittens, and hedgehogs on the sidelines.

Hedgehogs? I’ve heard of those, somewhere…..
@357 I am watching it like I do every year! Lol
I bought a snowblower and wake up to enough snow to push off the driveway with a broom?! I want a return on my investment. I want one blizzar this year.
Dave W needs to plant his son in front of Puppy Bowl so he can just celebrate. The kitten half-time show is pretty good. FOr the first few years, it was narrated by Harry Kalas. It must be great to be an announer and just cash checks for sitting in a studio for a few hours describing puppies fighting over balls and chew toys.
We even had a little dusting of snow, last night. Our winters just keep getting warmer, here. Last week, we had a tornado, and 70 degrees. Wierd.
So Bob Costas on MTP says football is “unsustanable” because it’s too dangerous? Isn’t this the guy who went on a halftime rant agains guns earlier this fall on Sunday night football?
I suspect the Democratic trial lawyers ($) will do their best to sue the manufacturers of football equipment thereby forcing the shutdown of football as we know it. They are already doing it. Kind of getting rid of football in a round about way. Lots of former football players to represent as well. It’s the next lawyer cash cow along with their tobacco and fast food lawsuits $$.
I’ll be in the ground when they finally take away football (as we know it), but Costas and others say it is coming. Guys like Costas will be in the vanguard of the movement.
Don’t worry fans. Our children will still have soccer. Yep, soccer and massive debt.
ZZZZZZZZZ

70 degrees? Isn’t that an ice age in Georgia?
There are safer helmets available. I wouldn’t change the rules of the game at all but I see problem in trying to protect players. There is no way to completely eliminate concussions but I read that better mouthguards and helmets can really cut down on the severity.
Florida- Mixed GOP
Senate- 1 Republican, 1 Democrat
Governor- Republican
Representative- 17 Republicans, 10 Democrats
With a competitive governors race and house seats for 2014 the Republicans are going to need to hold off the democrats
Georgia- Mixed GOP
Senate- 2 Republican
Governor- Republican
Representative- 9 Republicans, 5 Democrats
I will place this state in the SOLID GOP category if the GOP can nab one more house seat.

Riddell is the only company that currently is making football helmets. No other companies do so due to the liability issues – especially in the age of wall to wall law suits.
The family of Junior Seau is currently suing Riddell for tens of millions.
Riddell is spending millions on research and the helmets have come a long way. Still, no way to completely make them fullproof against head injuries. That’s when the trial lawyers pounce. In the present climate of no personal responsibility, it’s the equipment or something else responsible for the health of football players. Never the person who chooses to play the contact sport.
Not just helmet BTW. Many former NFL players can’t hardly walk. Not sure who you sue for a blown out knee or hip replacement. No doubt the trial lawyers are looking for a target.
If people want to play a sport, play it. Personally, I have to admit that I am glad my son is not 6′ 5” and 300 pounds. He is not big enough to play football. He is a good basketball player but not tall enough to be a star. He has fun and who doesn’t want a left-handed player who can make 3-pointers?
Phil – Do you wake up angry every day or do build up to it by noon?
I have spent almost 20 years defending lawsuits. Despie the perception. very few cases go to trial. Some cases have no merit. Some cases are slam dunks for plaintiffs. Probably 90% are in the middle and settle. Sometimes, the defendant is wrong. I had a case where the business only employed illegals. A 19 year old lost 2 fingers in a machine. The owner didn’t know why he should get workers compensation since “he didn’t belong in the country.” He didn’t like it when I asked why he hired him if he didn’t belong in the country? The case settled.*
*In PA, an illegal will not get ongoing wage loss benefits but can be paid for medical bills and a “specific loss” like a finger or use of the hand or a scar.
Angry?
What the hell are you even talking about?
BTW, we passed tort reform down here which in itself eliminated a lot of silly law suits. Not the problem down here that it is in your neck of the woods.
My dad was a businessman and like many had a bullseye on his head. His name was on a sign so customers assumed he had a lot of money (he didn’t). Was sued twice for silly things both times well before tort reform was enacted. The suits were indeed dismissed, but guess what? They cost him time and money each time to protect himself and his business. It was ridiculous.
The enhanced and improved equipment has HURT safety. Guys view themselves as projectiles.
In the days of leather helmets, they tacked by wrapping someone up. Head to head, even on running backs simply didn’t happen because the guy tackling was at severe risk also. That is the irony. The safer equipment has made it much more unsafe. Same exact thing in hockey. I actually talked to an ex-Flyer about this at a charity event 6 years ago. He said in the days of pre-helmet, the players were careful about banging a guys head into the boards and taking direct shots at the head when at full speed. Now, they fought much more but because they were on skates, the punches don’t have the leverage and force than they do if you were not on skates. He advocated getting rid of the helmet.
You started hearing about concussion syndrome in hockey over the last 20 years. The last non-helmeted guy retired a couple of years before that. The Flyers had a ton of guys in the 70′s who were rough and tumble but none of them have any head issues.
Excellent point, MD. Players absolutely wouldn’t lead with their heads in the early days of football bonnets.
374 – that is a big problem. I look at Obamacare and it really comes down to mandated catastrophic coverage. OK. 2 big, huge problems.
The fine is less than the premium in many cases except for the very poor (much of their premium will be subsidized). However, for those where that is not the case and the fine is less than the mandate, they simply can wait until they get sick and then sign up because the pre-existing condition clause has been done away with. Also, zero tort reform. That made the trial lawyers happy. However, I predict due to the elimination of pre-existing conditions, health ins firms will simply exit the market and the gov will run the whole thing. The trial lawyers will then be screwed. However, we will ALL be screwed due to the inefficiency and waste that the gov brings to any process. There will be Q’s for care. It will be awful. It is coming. Economically, it is set up intentionally to do just that.
I was taught to tackle when I was young by a guy who played college football in the late 30′s. Low gravity of center and use your arms to wrap up the legs. Simple and effective. Not the type to make a highlight reel but it was the way it was done. People look at the Bednarik hit on Gifford as proof that it happened in the past. Yet, that hit was the exception to the rule and it was not intentional. Bednarik stated that he was going to wrap up Gifford but Gifford made an extraordinary athletic move to get out of the way and that resulted in Bednarik accidentally close lining him. His head hit the ground with brutal force.
Again, it was the exception. That is why it is so remembered.
