Polls From IA, AK and Nationally

Another busy day, which may be the case for a few weeks. Anyway, Public Policy Polling was busy today releasing new polling numbers and we will start with their new poll for the state of Alaska that shows current Governor Sean Parnell well ahead in his bid for re-election should he decide to run for another term.

GOVERNOR – ALASKA (PPP)
Sean Parnell (R-inc) 50%
Ethan Berkowitz (D) 41%

Sean Parnell (R-inc) 52%
Scott McAdams (D) 34%

Sean Parnell (R-inc) 51%
Mike Navarre (D) 29%

Sean Parnell (R-inc) 51%
Joe Paskvan (D) 25%

In the US Senate race, Mark Begich starts off with decent leads over a slew of Republican candidates, but it is striking how far Sarah Palin and her minion Joe Miller have fallen.

US SENATE – ALASKA (PPP)
Mark Begich (D-inc) 50%
Loren Leman (R) 40%

Mark Begich (D-inc) 58%
Joe Miller (R) 30%

Sean Parnell (R) 48%

Mark Begich (D-inc) 47%
Dan Sullivan (R) 41%

Mark Begich (D-inc) 47%
Mead Treadwell (R) 39%

They also released some primary numbers for the Republican fields for US Senate and President.

Sarah Palin 9%
Bobby Jindal 6%

Chris Christie 13%
Mike Huckabee 11%
Rand Paul 10%

Elizabeth Warren 21%
Martin O’Malley 5%
Mark Warner 4%

As mentioned above, the IA poll was done February 1-3 among 326 Republicans and 313 Democrats. That should keep you busy.

  1. Bitterlaw says:

    First, bitches.

  2. Michael says:

Bitter shouldn’t t be a 5-1 Corbett on HHR since I will eventually be voting as well?

  3. Tim says:

I dunno, Dave. 6 points is like, 7 million votes. I think those GE polls are probably about right.

  4. Michael says:

@3 not with Biden. He will make gaffes that will give us the win, sorry I mean the GOP Tim

  5. Tim says:

That’s true, michael. I was making reference to the ones with Secretary Clinton in them. Dave seemed to be surprised they are as close as they are.

  6. Bitterlaw says:

No. I counted those over 18. You have to wait your turn.

  7. Tim says:

btw, michael, I also wrote you an explanation about Rove in the previous thread.

  8. Michael says:

@5 I think they are about right, except Christie he should be bit closer.

  9. Michael says:

@6 dammit, but then you will hate me for sure and not include me in anything.

  10. Michael says:

@7 I just read it Tim, thanks for the informative response. I think Rove should still play a roll but a new person needs to come in

  11. Tim says:

The man can raise money in bushel baskets, Michael.

Furthermore, I wish him great success with his new efforts concerning some of those fringe candidates, in the GOP.

When he’s done, perhaps he’ll come over to my Party and get rid of a couple I’d like to lose. LOL

  12. W. PA Observer says:

A big chunk of all this is name recognition – Also I think a race between Joe Biden and Marco Rubio would result in Marco taking a 2 x 4 to Joe electorally.

  13. Michael says:

@11 Tim not funny, southern democrat….
    Just kidding

  14. Tim says:

Well, I guess everyone is on hold, waiting to see what Clinton will do. If she’s in, it’ll be tough. If she’s out, it’s anybody’s game.

  15. Michael says:

@14 and if Biden is in the GOP win!

  16. W. PA Observer says:

14- Also depends on the status of the Middle East in 2-3 years.

  17. Cory says:

    Exercise for the night:
Predict what you think the field of candidates will actually look like in 2016.

    Dem:
    Hillary
    Cuomo
    O’Malley

    Rep:
    Rubio
    Christie
    Santorum
    Jindal
    Rand Paul

    Reasoning:
My gut says Hillary is running, and my brain says that will keep Biden out; a two-term V.P. is a better way to end his career than getting slaughtered by Hillary. Cuomo and O’Malley are the two D contenders who have an interest in running, and, I’m guessing, aren’t willing to wait.
On the R side, I think Paul Ryan might prefer to wait his time and be Speaker some day. Santorum will probably give it one more go. I have Rand running, but I think it will be a token effort to gauge his support and keep his father’s supporters interested. He will really have his eye on the VP slot, or a future run. Jeb and Huckabee don’t want the job.

  18. Em Dee says:

You put Christie on the wrong list. Dem bastard.

  19. Michael says:

    @18 deadender b@stard!

  20. michael corleone says:

    Oh no.

Mark Levin is now propping up Steve King in Iowa.

  21. Bitterlaw says:

Can michael recognize any parody posts?

  22. W. PA Observer says:

    22- Probably not.

  23. Michael says:

@22 haven’t seen that one in awhile

  24. Michael says:

    IU and Illinois tied up!

  25. Michael says:

Illinois gets .9 second pass/buzzer beating layup to defeat #1 IU
    74-72!

That’s how good the Big Ten is!!!!!!

  26. Bitterlaw says:

26 wouldn’t that actually show the Big 10 is not as strong because its teams can’t hold the # 1 spot for more than a game?

  27. Michael says:

@27 no, it means that all the teams are very powerful (except PSU and NU) and are capable of beating anyone in the country because all of them have different styles and the competition makes the teams very competitive.

Unlike say Florida, wow the only ranked teams this year in the SEC that could cause problems is (was Ole Miss) and Missouri that continues to float, with an exception of Arkansas.

  28. Michael says:

    Good night, signing off early

  29. Stef says:

In 2016 Hillary is going to be almost 70, Biden almost 75. Every other D candidate here is a nobody nationally. Weak and very vulnerable lineup.

  30. Stef says:

And Rubio has made a really savvy transition from being “that guy who’s mentioned as a possibility” to being the default frontrunner. He’s demanded the spotlight with the immigration move and now the SOTU response. Going to get a lot of free press over the next few years.

  31. Waingro says:

#20, whatever. I’m pretty much writing off that seat.

  32. Waingro says:

#30, Hillary will still be very, very tough even as an old bag.

  33. Walt, HHR Senator, formerly known as Delegate says:

    Is Michael gone yet?

I only like to be here at HHR if he is in his high school classes, attending some college basketball game or gone to bed.

  34. Walt, HHR Senator, formerly known as Delegate says:

If Michael is still here perhaps he can ponder this:
    **************************
    Michael,

you have probably been to many places, but here are some unusual facts about some places where you might end up.

First place is in Cahoots. Apparently, you can’t go alone. You have to be in Cahoots WITH someone.

Also do not bother to be in Cognito. No one there will recognize you there.

An odd place to be is in Sane. They don’t have an airport, train station or boat dock. You have to be driven there.
I have made several trips there, thanks to my friends, family, and people have worked with plus some here at HHR.

I would like to go to Conclusions, but you have to jump, and I’m not too much on physical activity anymore.

I have personally been in Doubt. But I would not recommend you go there. It is a sad place to be, and I try not to visit there too often.

  35. Walt, HHR Senator, formerly known as Delegate says:

If the police are searching nationwide for a female suspect, is it still a “manhunt”?

  36. Stef says:

“Hillary will still be very, very tough even as an old bag.”

I don’t doubt she’ll be tough but she’s snatched defeat from the jaws of presumptive wins before and age is going to be an increasing negative.

Indeed age and health alone could sideline her and/or Biden entirely by 2015. Actuarial tables suggest Biden has only a 90% chance of being with us in 4 years. Now I imagine he actually gets far better care than average but there’s also a whole range of non-fatal but completely disqualifying health problems that could come up as well.

TBH if the economy is still flatlining in 2015 it won’t matter which candidates each party runs, the Presidency will be the GOP’s to lose.

  37. Walt, HHR Senator, formerly known as Delegate says:

    stef,

Never overestimate the intelligence and wisdom in decision making of the American voting public. A huge chunk are dumber than rocks and reasonin is as foreign to them as Tasmania.

    (Somebody had to say it.)

  38. Diogenes says:

Given the electorate, the overoptimism is a bit much. Yeah, the dem lineup is as good without a younger clinton and a fresh young Obama in there.

But then again, our lineup isn’t the greatest either. it’s better than the sad, pathetic crew of miscontents that ran in 2012, but not by that much. Our swing-state governors are all underwater approval-wise. Christie is still hated by many activists for backstabbing Romney. Rubio is in many ways untested.

We may very well be forced to run Rubio because Florida simply has to be off the table for the GOP to have any chance. We already have to run an inside straight in Virginia, Colorado, and Ohio.

I think the GOP has to tread carefully for the next 4 years and bide its time.

I pray every day for our conservative justices.

    38- The ever reusable quote-

“The people have spoken! The bastards…”

  40. W. PA Observer says:

39- Umm…last I checked Walker, Kasich, Martinez, Sandoval, and McDonnell were all well above water.

Scott is disliked, Corbett has his problems, Snyder hasn’t had much polling since RTW- so who knows?

  41. Walt, HHR Senator, formerly known as Delegate says:

I am with Mark Levin on how great and effective Carl Rove was.

Yes Rove did craft an effective GOTV strategy that was successful in electing GOPers. But that is only a short term victory is those in office cannot ‘git er done’ and creating a lasting majority.

Who do you blame for it falling apart?

I am not going to sing the praises of a guru consultant who comes in and doubles my business profits from one month to the next–if sales and profits after that plummet to the depths in the next 24 or 36 months.

    Obstructionist minority Dems?

    MSM?

    Boosh?

    GOP Congressional leaders?

    Neuman?

    Global Warming?

    Who?

  42. W. PA Observer says:

For us to get to 270 on the present map- Florida occupies roughly the same place Indiana or North Carolina occupied 4 years ago – one we should get back quickly in an even year without a complete debacle in the Hispanic vote – it’s still 2.5-3 points more Republican than the nation at large- where it’s been since 2002 or so. After that Ohio, Virginia – and one more state – really it depends how well the coalition O kept together in 2012 endures and who the match up is. You could imagine Rubio doing very well in a lot of the Bush 04-Obama 08 states in the southwest and Northern Virginia, but coming off as too slick in the Midwest. Christie or one of the Midwestern govs could appeal in “Middle America” and potentially cause the upper-midwest/ Great Lakes to finally flip en masse – but still lag in the sunbelt. Hard to say really.

  43. Walt, HHR Senator, formerly known as Delegate says:

    DOOK WINS!!!!

Although they are the Blue DEVILS (which deducts points from them in my book) I still have a fond spot for Duke roundball.

I like them for another very personal reason. The Duke family who bequeathed them lots of money in exchange for changing the name of the school to Duke are very, very, very distant relatives of our same family tree. The tree branches are from way different areas of the family tree. I am sure these rich Dukes do not even know I exist.

Their branch became rich. My branch did not.

    Sorry all you DOOK haters.

  44. Walt, HHR Senator, formerly known as Delegate says:

They have agreed to keep the name “Redskins” but will have to scrap the Indian logo and replace with a Redskin Potato.

    Franken-Bachmann race for MN senate.

    Article about it on RCP.
Personally I think it would be futile.

  60. MD (IP - Akin and Mourdock Will Win!) says:

Bachmann is a nice fit for her CD and I think having survived 12, she will survive there for a very long time. She will lose a statewide race.

We can’t even find a decent candidate to run against an absolute clown. Why not have Santorum g to MN? Can’t do worse.

  61. MD (IP - Akin and Mourdock Will Win!) says:

Bitter – what is the rule when you call in sick from work? I did so today and my boss called me and told me I needed to be available anyway. There is nothing urgent happening that cannot wait but he seems to feel as though everything (approx 100 things at the same time) is all urgent. 68. HHR Senator AuthorLMendez, El Patron says:

“High numbers early, but no one really takes him seriously in the end.”

the irony of this coming from a guy who worships a candidate who is 0-100+ in statewide races, saying this about a guy who won a 3-way race w/ 50% of the vote and faced off against a popular Governor

  69. Tulipomania says:

Ron Paul dire warning over the Rubio amnesty bill

“Harper rightly notes that E-Verify is in fact a national ID card, writing last week that, ‘the system must biometrically identify everyone who works—you, me, and every working American you know. There is no way to do internal enforcement of immigration law without a biometric national identity system.’”

62.Bitter – what is the rule when you call in sick from work?

Send me your boss’ phone number. I will tell him that you are sick. I will tehn tell him that because you are impacted by a physical ailment that prevents you from working you may be temporarily covered by the Americans with Disabilities Act. After I say “punitive damages” you should be at peace for the rest of the day.

  80. Bitterlaw says:

  81. Bitterlaw says:

  82. Tim says:

Write-ins against Paul would still make it close, Bitterlaw

  83. Tulipomania says:

More on why everyone should oppose the employer verification\national ID schemes

“National ID cards are not proper in a free society,” Paul stated. “This is America, not Soviet Russia. The federal government should never be allowed to demand papers from American citizens, and it certainly has no constitutional authority to do so.”
“A national identification card, in whatever form it may take, will allow the federal government to inappropriately monitor the movements and transactions of every American,” Paul continued. “History shows that governments inevitably use such power in harmful ways. The 9-11 commission, whose recommendations underlie this bill, has called for internal screening points where identification will be demanded. Domestic travel restrictions are the hallmark of authoritarian states, not free nations. It is just a matter of time until those who refuse to carry the new licenses will be denied the ability to drive or board an airplane.”
“Nationalizing standards for drivers licenses and birth certificates, and linking them together via a national database, creates a national ID system pure and simple. Proponents of the national ID understand that the public remains wary of the scheme, so they attempt to claim they’re merely creating new standards for existing state IDs. Nonsense! This legislation imposes federal standards in a federal bill, and it creates a federalized ID regardless of whether the ID itself is still stamped with the name of your state.”
“Those who are willing to allow the government to establish a Soviet-style internal passport system because they think it will make us safer are terribly mistaken,” Paul concluded. “Subjecting every citizen to surveillance and screening points actually will make us less safe, not in the least because it will divert resources away from tracking and apprehending terrorists and deploy them against innocent Americans! Every conservative who believes in constitutional restraints on government should reject the authoritarian national ID card and the nonsensical intelligence bill itself.” -RP

    Stop John Brennen

Opening Message at Brennan Hearing: ‘Stop CIA Murder’

‘Stop CIA Murder’ was the message that opened the confirmation hearing of CIA nominee and drone war architect John Brennan Thursday afternoon as he faced the Senate Intelligence Committee.

MSNBC reported that minutes before the hearing was scheduled to begin at 2:30, one protester had already been removed from the chambers, and a series of interruptions from CODEPINK members brought in the beginning of the hearing.
Four protesters were escorted out of the room shortly after Brennan began speaking, with one of the protesters shouting, “We are killing children!” Others held signs reading, “Brennan = Drone Killing” and “Stop CIA Murder.”

  87. Bitterlaw says:

You can monitor me. Maybe i will invite the police to search my house later just for fun.

    http://www.nationalreview.com/corner/340174/voter-fraud-never-happens-keeps-coming-back-john-fund

Critics of photo ID and other laws cracking down on voter fraud claim they’re unnecessary because fraud is nonexistent. Brennan Center attorneys Michael Waldman and Justin Levitt claimed last year: “A person casting two votes risks jail time and a fine for minimal gain. Proven voter fraud, statistically, happens about as often as death by lightning strike.”

Well, lightning is suddenly all over Cincinnati, Ohio. The Hamilton County Board of Elections is investigating 19 possible cases of alleged voter fraud that occurred when Ohio was a focal point of the 2012 presidential election. A total of 19 voters and nine witnesses are part of the probe.

Democrat Melowese Richardson has been an official poll worker for the last quarter century and registered thousands of people to vote last year. She candidly admitted to Cincinnati’s Channel 9 this week that she voted twice in the last election.

  139. HHR Polling Report says:

It should be noted that among “Other”, NYCMike and Lisab lead the pack. We also polled on HHR Poster favorability ratings. Hands down the most popular was Bitterlaw, while Bunu was hands down the most unpopular. Jul and Michael were tied as the most polarizing.

  140. HHR Polling Report says:

The Lt Gov is elected with the Governor, there is no separate race for them, therefore we didn’t poll on a “re-elect number” for him. It should be pointed out the Lt Gov has a 50%+ approval with HHR citizens and has polled in the top 5 of most popular posters.

  141. Bitterlaw says:

  142. HHR Polling Report says:

Final analysis: as of now all but one of those in the HHR Govt will win in November for sure. The only Govt official in trouble is AuthorLMendez, who also polled favorable among our popularity poll but was not as string as before. The Senator has clearly hit a dip in popularity for him. He is most likely the one who faces a close race in November.

It’s a cult. They’ve all been brainwashed and now anything any Paul says is accepted as the word of God. Doesn’t matter if it completely contradicts previous statements or what Paulbots believe. Quite obvious that Bunu is brainwashed and can’t think for himself as he is incapable of having a discussion on a topic – all he can do is cut and paste from dailypaul.

  146. Bitterlaw says:

EML – Seriously, Bunu has no life. He mentions nothing about family, friends, work, etc. He will occasionally toss in a sports reference but that is it. He thinks that I am always telling him to kill himself when I have never said that. Sad.

    A Conversation About Conservatism
    Jennifer Ruben

Just at a time when Republicans are debating what sort of party they should have and what sort of conservatism they can practice and still win elections comes along an important and highly readable book by Hoover scholar Peter Berkowitz, “Constitutional Conservatism: Liberty, Self-Government, and Political Moderation.”

The book’s brevity is deceiving. It packs in a lot – a history of modern conservatism, an erudite discussion of the tone and temperament of conservatism and a calmly reasoned guide to the future of the conservative movement. At a time when conservatism has gotten screechy, he reminds us it is a political disposition based on reasoned moderation, civil discourse and respect for the institutions and habits of our fellow citizens. He also takes on the notion that “moderation” is a four-letter word. Instead he explains that it is not simply split-the–baby compromising but rather an appreciation of competing interests and values and a respect for unintended consequences and aversion to rash action.

There is no time for that kind of useless crap.

Do you know how many racist newsletters I have to re-read every day? And how many Ron Paul speeches I replay?

Then I have to listen to anti-war radio for a minimum of 6 hours. The Alex Jones show is a must. I spend at least two hours at Stormfront and infowars daily. At Daily Paul for at least an hour.

Then I have to contribute to the Paul money bombs, there are dozens a week.

I attend at least 5 workshops a week on how to deal with the Jewish problem. Then there is volunteering for aid to the Gaza flotilla and at the Friends for Nuclear Bombs for Iran headquarters.

Then there are the free Assange and Pvt. Manning rallies. Close Guantanamo rallies. Stop the Drone War rallies.

You should be thankful I have time for HHR.

  173. HHR Senator AuthorLMendez, El Patron says:

@172 if Hillary is the nominee I think Christie is our best shot. If it’s Biden i’d rather run Rubio. I personally don’t think Hillary will run and I think Biden is dead-serious about running. Per reports O himself likes the idea of Biden running.

  181. jason says:

The Cain comment was just to reinforce his point about the house and senate candidates.

  194. Rockefeller Republican says:

Lil’ jason, you just can’t get over that I what I predicted in ’11 came to pass in ’12 in both VA and OH… VA GOP got thumped in state senate races in the DC suburbs just like Romney… They would have had an outright state senate majority instead of a tie if they won some races there. Likewise, OH referenda votes in ’11 presaged Obama’s win a year later.

I was correct and it’s killing you.

  195. Michael says:

I can’t say anything that might even be negative towards MD now

  196. Michael says:

Rocky, I personally think you are an a$$hole so why don’t you leave while your not ahead

  197. GF says:

Well, in that case, he was mostly wrong. We did nominate two or three duds, however, in those races; we should have won a clear majority in that Dem map, but lost a few races within five points that were otherwise winnable.

Michael, I’ll throw you a bone. Christie wins 60%+ against Babs Buono. He’ll carry all but three counties int he state (Hudson, Essex and Union). She’ll consolidate some wavering Dem support, but several machines will not turn out the voteon her behalf. With current recruiting, we have a good shot at the state senate, but I am much less confident about the lower house unless Christie can really roll up some big margins and tamp down Dem turnout.

I fear we are going to get screwed in VA, and not just b/c of Bolling (who maintain got screwed by Cooch and his supporters when they changed the nominating system). McAuliffe is terrible, but it may not matter. Our infighting might also carry downballot and hurt us for LG and AG, but we may save one or both yet.

NYC will elect its first Lesbian mayor in Quinn unless she blows it and Lhota or Castimatidis wow the locals. I fully exepct Los Angeles to continue its streak of electing incompetent boobs when either comptroller Greuel or failed DA Gil Garcetti’s son, Eric, a city councilman.

  215. MD (IP - Akin and Mourdock Will Win!) says:

As a said a thousand times, it was always going to be a very tough election. Some here took Obama lightly. These are the same people who say we will do fine in 16 because Obama won’t be on the ticket. They don’t seem to understand the inconsistency of those positions.

  216. GF says:

215- Mike, was referring specifically to AZ Guy, who is due back here any minute now to teach us all a lesson we’ll never forget.

  217. Bitterlaw says:

Maybe Corleone can hook up with his fellow Georgetown Law star, Sandra Fluke.

  218. HHR Senator AuthorLMendez, El Patron says:

Mike you cannot be this dense. There is a website at ace.mu.nu; it is a right-wing political blog. It’s the other blog I frequent. That’s what I meant regarding ace’s. It’s of my opinion that some commenters here can hang there*. You are not one of those.

*however the dead-enders are a majority there so you’d be in the minority in debates about the way to win

Michael: Think about me next! Think about me next!

  220. Michael says:

@217 yeah, author said he was talking about the aces “club” he is in with a bunch of deadenders that he was talking to.

He said you could hang with them

  221. HHR Senator AuthorLMendez, El Patron says:

since MD is out to get those who predicted the race wrong I did predict that O would win (though I thought the electoral college would be closer then it was) and that the divided Govt in congress would remain. I also was one of the few to predict 3rd parties would total 2% of the popular vote.

  222. Bitterlaw says:

I was wrong about Romney winning. I was wrong about PA but it was closer than 2008. I was still wrong. The problem for posters like Rocky and Polaris is that yhey only contribute predictions and expect to be worshipped if they are right.

  223. NYCmike (Bronxie) says:

*however the dead-enders are a majority there so you’d be in the minority in debates about the way to win

-It would be good theatre to see him where the majority would disagree with him. He would be like the goalie in “Slap Shot”.

  224. Michael says:

    @222 I don’t like Being talked about, it’s weird

  225. HHR Senator AuthorLMendez, El Patron says:

“He said you could hang with them”

so NYC doesn’t get this context wrong, I meant that he and others (MD, Bitter, etc) could hang with them. This was in no way meant as a way to demean NYC with my comments. Ace’s is a rough place comment-wise and not everybody can survive there.

  226. MD (IP - Akin and Mourdock Will Win!) says:

In the end, I caved in and was wrong as well. Still, MFG takes the cake. The guy is pretty much never right. Nice guy most of the time but has zero instincts.

  227. GF says:

Michael, don’t listen to Author; the Aces Club is really a place called Delilah’s in Philly (you should visit some time, you would be amazed at the spectacle). It’s a favourite hangout of Bitter’s archrival, Chakah Fattah. One day, Bitter will catch him there and proceed to unseat him in the ensuing melee.

He said you could hang with them

-That’s the way I roll. I never did thank Author for his endorsement.
Thank you, Senator Mendez. I was so inspired, I filed papers to run for the post of Block Head. They are responsible for setting up the annual block party. Wish me luck! Yay, me!

  229. HHR Senator AuthorLMendez, El Patron says:

    @230 what are you talking…um, I mean…yeah that’s the ace’s club.

  230. MD (IP - Akin and Mourdock Will Win!) says:

I miss the “other related establishments” that were located in Pennsauken, NJ. The GOP convention put an end to them.

  231. GF says:

Just performing a public service, Pepe*; Michael needs to go to Delilah’s far more than he needs to spend time on another blog.

*You know I’m teasing, rihgt? Trying to channel the ghost of Wobbles.

  232. NYCmike (Bronxie) says:

so NYC doesn’t get this context wrong, I meant that he and others (MD, Bitter, etc) could hang with them

-That’s right, MD, Bitter, jason! I can be just as much of an A-hole as you guys! Stick your finger in that, and lick it!

  233. HHR Senator AuthorLMendez, El Patron says:

GF, no need to stir up that Ghost, he was in here the other day telling us how “concerned” he was about 2014 already

  234. GF says:

Stick your finger in that, and lick it!

That only goes on in the back room at the Aces Club; regular dances only out front.

  235. HHR Senator AuthorLMendez, El Patron says:

“Michael needs to go to Delilah’s far more than he needs to spend time on another blog.”

he needs to go get a date

  236. GF says:

Oh, that’s right, I did see him after the fact. My memory is short (or rather, it made no impact as to force to recall it).

    “other related establishments”

-I never went to those places much, they would never make change for my gold and silver coins!

Himmler and Ron warned me about your kind!

  241. HHR Senator AuthorLMendez, El Patron says:

    Mike my advice:

    1. Pay attention more at school instead of posting here

    2. Find an easy girl to go to the prom with

  242. MD (IP - Akin and Mourdock Will Win!) says:

As for Rocky, I found his birth certificate – it was an apology from a condom factory.

  243. HHR Senator AuthorLMendez, El Patron says:

    @245 ZING!

  244. Michael says:

Author that blog is full of crazy fools. I put down one post, but they never said anything to me

  245. Michael says:

@244 both are checked off, today school let out early because of the snow storm. Wimps

And I already have a date for prom

  246. HHR Senator AuthorLMendez, El Patron says:

@247 Mike the commentary is very good IMO, the comment section can get out of control. I use to frequent there as much as I do here now but I’m not too fond of the newbies over there, little respect for the veterans like me. I still comment every now and then and help them with election coverage. CAC is good stuff to read when posts even though it is from a cautious optimistic stance.

  247. HHR Senator AuthorLMendez, El Patron says:

Mike has a date for the prom? For your sake I hope she is pretty and loose.

  248. MD (IP - Akin and Mourdock Will Win!) says:

So many comebacks but I would go to Hell if it existed.

  249. Bitterlaw says:

True story about Fattah. In 2002, a local charity sponsored a Candidates Comedy Night as a fundraiser. My table was in the back of the room
. Fattah was seated right in front of the stage with a bunch of strippers from Delilah’s Den. He didn’t hide it – a sign on the table listed them as the sponsor. I made that one of my jokes – the challenger has to sit up against the kitchen door and Fattah get strippers.. The aidience laughed.

  250. Michael says:

249 they are talking about preparing for a war with the government. That is crazy

  251. HHR Senator AuthorLMendez, El Patron says:

Mike what # comment was your post at ace’s?

  252. MD (IP - Akin and Mourdock Will Win!) says:

We are looking for someone with a “morally casual attitude” for Michael.

  253. NYCmike (Bronxie), Paul-bot, Audit-the-FED-coalition says:

“You’ll never be the man your mother is.”

-Funny thing about that, my Dad would probably say the same thing, about himself!! She is THE toughest person I know, and Dad (Italian) routinely tells stories about when they were first married, and my Mom (Irish) having to deal with the kids, in-laws, plus an extended Italian family always popping in…she tried to run-him-thru with a broomstick several times, once when he was on the toilet. He up-blocked it, broom went right through the bathroom window. That is when they start laughing so hard, my Mom usually has an accident, can’t get to the bathroom in time.
Beautiful (inside & out) woman! I’ll gladly take several more years to try to measure up to her!

  254. HHR Senator AuthorLMendez, El Patron says:

Mike that thread doesn’t make me think that at all, they are just reporting on some strange purchases the Govt has made

  255. Michael says:

    @284 and now 363

  260. NYCmike (Bronxie), Paul-bot, Audit-the-FED-coalition says:

I get the feeling you could not handle lisab at this point, although it would probably be fun to try.

  261. Michael says:

@261 okay I am aborting the mission

  262. HHR Senator AuthorLMendez, El Patron says:

why on Earth use the handle “Charlottan” Mike?

  263. NYCmike (Bronxie) says:

Yes, and they would also never put Americans on a kill list, bypassing their due process rights.

There is a reason the government won’t attack (some) of the population.

Let’s keep it that way. Governments are not to be trusted – they have never been trustworthy. The ‘State’ is reponsible for the deaths of more people over history than all the private people and organizations COMBINED.

  267. HHR Senator AuthorLMendez, El Patron says:

Ok I fixed it. I apologized for Mike’s rants. Mike, stick to here. You are not nearly ready for a comment section like that of ace’s.

  268. Michael says:

@268 great idea, maybe next time when author deems me ready

  269. NYCmike (Bronxie) says:

I think I like “Charlottan” better. His sentence actually made SOME sense.

  270. Michael says:

    SusyQue,

Did you know that at Cracker Barrel you can buy “scripture tea”?

They have it for sale in boxes of 20 bags for @ $5. Each tea bag has a scripture verse on the little paper thingie at the opposite end of the string from the tea bag.

I saw them while waiting at the checkout counter for my take home dinner order and I thought about you (and then I also got the vapors just thinking about you!).
