  1. Walt, HHR Senator, formerly known as Delegate says:

    One-sey.

  2. EML says:

Walt, in remembrance of Dim Tim, you should share that One with the rest of HHR. You didn’t earn it, we allowed it tohappen.

  3. AuthorLMendez says:

Christie leads PPP’s GOP primary but isn’t polled against Hillary?

Again I’m stunned how well Ryan seems to be doing. Maybe a 2016 run isn’t so crazy from him?

Still, we are so far away.

  4. SoHope says:

    NO DEAL!

  5. AuthorLMendez says:

Why isn’t Santorum doing better? MC was insistent that he was an awesome candidate

  6. EML says:

One thing to know about me: if there is a contest or a sweepstakes or a raffle that involves alcohol, I AM going to win. I was just informed that I won two tickets ($150 apiece) to the inaugural Finger Lakes Wine Symposium next weekend.

  7. SoHope says:

Paul Ryan is an awesome #2 man.

  8. Walt, HHR Senator, formerly known as Delegate says:

    http://www.governing.com/blogs/view/gov-7-proposed-features-of-colorados-new-legal-marijuana-industry.html

    1. Only existing medical marijuana businesses should be licensed for recreational growth and retail in the first year.
    2. Let out-of-state visitors purchase marijuana in Colorado – up to a point
    3. Don’t let people throw away their unused marijuana.
    4. Pot vending machines? Maybe.
    5. Figure out a way to separate medical marijuana business from recreational marijuana business.
    6. Use new revenue from recreational marijuana sales and licensing to fund the enforcement division.
    7. Just Say No to state production.

  9. SoHope says:

Walt, Pig Tethering Bill…yea or nay

  10. AuthorLMendez says:

    Walt we need an answer

  11. SoHope says:

    By the way…it is called

    The US Farmer Freedom Act

How could you vote no to that?

  12. Walt, HHR Senator, formerly known as Delegate says:

9.Walt, Pig Tethering Bill…yea or nay

    Answer: “Present”
And that is a firm vote.

  13. AuthorLMendez says:

Walt, what if we add an amendment on Limiting the making fun of Susy?

  14. SoHope says:

I am open to sweeteners for Walt in order to pass the bill….does your district need any pork?

  15. jason says:

    I will veto that amendment.*

*As acting Governor when Bitter goes for his annual physical.

  16. Bitterlaw says:

I know your real name, Walt. That is not a threat. It is just a fact.

  17. SoHope says:

how about $50 million for the Porcine Hair Bow Museum…it will bring 50 jobs to your state

  18. AuthorLMendez says:

I know your real name as well Walt. Just remember we ran on a ticket together in the GOP primary for Gov

  19. Bitterlaw says:

$50 million? Did Dave sell more $0.01 copies of 1776?

  20. AuthorLMendez says:

“$50 million? Did Dave sell more $0.01 copies of 1776?”

We can learn how to fund it later. It’s for the working man.

  21. Bitterlaw says:

18 And you were driven out. I threw you a bone, Senator, with the appointment. Back off, Pig-hater. Hmmmmm. Hating pigs. What other group hates pigs? It is a large religious faith, if I recall correctly.

  22. jason says:

I know Walt’s real name too.

    Walter Deerkiller

  23. SoHope says:

I know his name too…2 minutes on google

  24. jason says:

I told Amos Stoltzfuss there were religions that hated pigs.

    He wasn’t surprised.

    “The English are crazy”.

  25. AuthorLMendez says:

“Hmmmmm. Hating pigs. What other group hates pigs? It is a large religious faith, if I recall correctly.”

Is Bitter going for the Paul-bot vote?

  26. AuthorLMendez says:

Walt what will it take to get yes vote? What will it take?

  27. SoHope says:

matter of fact, I now know more about Walt than anyone here….kind of like how lisab does it.

  28. AuthorLMendez says:

lisab figured out I was the reason we lost the women’s vote. IDK how she does it

  29. Bitterlaw says:

Walt – Ignore the efforts to sway your vote. Do what I know is right.

  30. jason says:

I know Chekote’s real name. Nobody can beat that.

  31. Bitterlaw says:

You held that secret? Wow. I don’t think I would want to know.

  32. jason says:

” matter of fact, I now know more about Walt than anyone here”

Wow, you mean like in the Biblical sense?

    Who knew….

  33. Bitterlaw says:

    Nobody can beat that.

I stood on MD’s lawn and lived to tell about it.

  34. jason says:

Yeah, some people here hated her so much I was afraid to be an accessory…. 8)

  35. AuthorLMendez says:

    @34 was her name Meghan?

  36. AuthorLMendez says:

“I stood on MD’s lawn and lived to tell about it.”

    Cool…now do it with Jul

  37. National Porcine Farmer's Council of America says:

Senator Walt, here is today’s newspaper folded up…there is something in the sports page you will like…and there is more were that came from.

  38. sohopeb says:

    Chekote’s real name is:

    Robert Beltran

    I am right…debate over

  39. Bitterlaw says:

    Cool…now do it with Jul

No. I have children and the life insurance on a diabetic sucks.

  40. Bitterlaw says:

    38 – Odd name for a woman.

  41. jason says:

I think he meant Roberta Beltrano.

    Wrong.

  42. jason says:

” No. I have children and the life insurance on a diabetic sucks.”

It’s ok, I have your back covered here at HHR.

  43. B. White says:

I want her real name. She cost me millions, said I was a formidable candidate and I would sweep the Dallas and Houston suburbs against Perry. I believed it and lost my ass.

My lawyers are looking for her.

  44. NYCmikeWantsToAuditTheFed&StarveTheChildren (Bronxie) says:

“MC was insistent that he was an awesome candidate”

-I remember him always saying that he was a flawed candidate, despite his arguments in favor of him.

  45. AuthorLMendez says:

Jason, just curious, how did you get the name?

  46. Bitterlaw says:

Real Breaking News – Dick Morris will now have a show on WPHT Radio in Philadelphia from 2-6 pm Mondat through Friday. 50,000 watt station that reaches Boston and Virginia.

  47. Bitterlaw says:

Morris starts April 15th. He is stealing at least an hour from Michael Smerconish.

  48. AuthorLMendez says:

Morris can be annoying but he’s far better then Smerconish

  49. Bitterlaw says:

Even better – Smerconish is out! Dom Giordano gets 10:00 to 2:00!

  50. AuthorLMendez says:

I guess Smerconish going lib wasn’t the best career decision. I remember when he was subbing for the big right-talk radio guys.

  51. jason says:

From my days living in Texas and involved in Republican politics. Believe it or not Chekote was actually a Republican or thought she was. And she is actually a woman.

  52. AuthorLMendez says:

@51 So what is your opinion of what happened to her? Afraid to be seen with the team that is struggling?

  53. jason says:

I wish Dick Morris was as competent a Republican as he was a Democrat….

  54. jason says:

She believes firmly in open borders/amnesty. She is foreign born and has an inferiority complex.

She is a liberal on social issues like abortion and gay marriage.

But supported Perry against Romney despite the fact Perry was much more conservative on social issues. Go figure.

  55. jason says:

Like Add, Chekote was shocked and awed by Obama. It happens. Look at Peggy Noonan.

  56. AuthorLMendez says:

Sounds like she is a Libertarian in denial. I know plenty in 2008 who fell for the Obama love-fest.

  57. AuthorLMendez says:

Add is an Obama supporter? Go figure.

  58. AuthorLMendez says:

The NHL has re-aligned and the Redwings are now going to the Eastern Conference

  59. AuthorLMendez says:

    Here’s more on the re-alignment:

    http://www.nhl.com/ice/news.htm?id=660138&navid=DL|NHL|home

  60. jason says:

The Ficus lauded Obama’s economic policies for years, but denies it. His theme was “the economy is growing” ignoring the fact the “growth” was not enough to sustain a recovery.

  61. SoHope says:

    NHL…what is that?

  62. jason says:

I think it means New Hampshire Libertarians, not sure.

  63. jason says:

Ohh, it’s hockey. You know, that sport that is even more boring than baseball?

  64. AuthorLMendez says:

jason, Hockey is far more exciting then baseball and basketball. Football is still #1

  65. SoHope says:

Hockey is only not boring if you watch it in person.

  66. SoHope says:

same for racing (except during huge wrecks)

  67. Bitterlaw says:

The Bruins leave the Rangers, Flyers and Devils? Bad decision for ticket sales.

  68. AuthorLMendez says:

Feinstein: “I’ve been here longer then you!”

    Cruz: “I don’t give a —”

    http://www.weeklystandard.com/blogs/explosive-exchange-gun-hearing-between-ted-cruz-and-dianne-feinstein_707602.html

  69. Rockefeller Republican says:

At this time, Hillary is just too UGLY to run for prez in ’16…we’ll know if she’s running if she recaptures her 2008 looks…If she does, she will be favored to keep Dems in the presidency. Christie is our only competitive shot…the rest of the putative GOP field are pretenders and sure losers so…

    Christie/Martinez ’16!

  70. AuthorLMendez says:

“At this time, Hillary is just too UGLY to run for prez in ’16″

    That’s your analysis? Seriously?

  71. AuthorLMendez says:

“Christie is our only competitive shot”

Bad news for Christie coming out of your mouth

  72. MD says:

Smerconish is going full time to satellite radio. A move out of desperation.

Chekote is a nut job. She should adopt Jul.

  73. MD says:

Christie won’t make it through the primary season.

  74. Tim says:

    #2:
Remembrance? I’m right here. I still can’t believe that you actually listed Right to Work Laws as an example of landmark legislation for Working People.

That is, without a doubt, one of the dumbest things I’ve ever read on this site. I mean, that is just pitiful, it’s so dumb. I have never in my life talked to anyone in either Party who believed that. Where do you get that sort of thing? It’s not grounded in any reality.

  75. AuthorLMendez says:

“That is, without a doubt, one of the dumbest things I’ve ever read on this site”

I think that about 99.9% of your posts Tim. Why do you insist on keeping up these fights lately?

  76. MD says:

This Tim / EML battle is growing into a semi classic. EML has become meaner since getting married. Happens to us alll.

  77. SoHope says:

He’s baaaaack….done with your manual labor and reading of history books?

  78. MD says:

Btw – when I say meaner, that is intended to be a compliment. I watched Brandon morph from a nice kid to an adult with an edge. They grow up fast these days.

  79. AuthorLMendez says:

“EML has become meaner since getting married. Happens to us alll.”

    That’s me in 1-2 years?

  80. MD says:

Jul – don’t u want to take on Tim regarding RTW?

  81. Bitterlaw says:

Tim – I think people in the private sector have the right to join unions (we will separate the public unions issue out of this). I think people have the right to not join a union. I think employers have a right to tell unions to F’off during negotiations. However, companies with no employees don’t do well so they will likely compromise. What is wrong with people choosing what they want to do?

  82. AuthorLMendez says:

To be fair to Tim EML does have backup which puts him at a slight disadvantage (not that EML necessarily needs it)

  83. AuthorLMendez says:

“What is wrong with people choosing what they want to do?”

Because the Govt knows better…some keywords on rich people and profits…and something about poor people. There, saved some time for you Tim.

  84. Tim says:

Hey, look! I got ‘em all going, again! LOL

Dave really owes me, for this.

  85. Bitterlaw says:

    That’s me in 1-2 years?

    Comment by AuthorLMendez

Breaking News – Author’s GF dropped the hammer….Cow is no longer giving free milk.

  86. MD says:

Unions should not have the right to mandate that employers withhold for union dues.

  87. Tim says:

I really am enjoying EML. He thinks I’m possessed, or having spells. LOL

I also enjoy typing “LOL”, because I know some people hate it. I’m funny, that way.

  88. MD says:

    Tim,

Is it break time wih the Comrades until 1:15 pm?

  89. Bitterlaw says:

Michael has gone from quiet to annoying to fiercely annoying in months. He could be the next great fighter. Of course, he could disappear into a haze of beer and girls so we will have to wait and see. Just wait! Just wait!

  90. MD says:

First, Michael needs to learn how to type a complete sentence.

  91. Bitterlaw says:

I admit that I like the Tim/EML showdown. It is both substantive and nasty. It reminds me of the old Hedgehog battles that went for days and turned vicious and personal.

  92. AuthorLMendez says:

MD were you as surprised by me when we saw him in that article and video yesterday? Much different from what I expected. Wish he could come across half that articulate online. I’m not saying he’s some awesome, knock you down, political speech giver but way different from what you see here. At least IMO

  93. AuthorLMendez says:

    as surprised as me*

  94. Bitterlaw says:

90 – He needs to work on the fundamentals. The raw talent is there.

  95. Tim says:

I’ve seen the light! Big Business and the Rich are just like me! They love me! They do everything for me!

Unions are evil! FDR is Satan! My parents were brainwashed!

Hitler was a Liberal, exactly like Obama! Donald Trump is a visionary!

    LOL

Some of you people are a hoot. Lots of fun.

  96. DuelStol says:

    In Liberty!

  97. AuthorLMendez says:

“Some of you people are a hoot. Lots of fun.”

    the feeling is mutual

  98. Bitterlaw says:

The union is for the children. Why should a boss make f=more than his employee?*

*Ignore the issue of why the union boss should make 20x more than a union member. The head of the New Jersey Education Association flipped when Christie announced the salaries of the top union officials. I think one made $600k

  99. Tim says:

Bitterlaw, do you think EML took it personally? I hope so!

He thinks like that, and it makes it even more fun to go at him.

  100. GF says:

EML has become meaner since getting married. Happens to us alll.

    Comment by MD — March 14, 2013 @ 1:04 pm

I must be the exception; I used to be more bitter and harsh. Nowadays, with the exception of the infamous waterboarding fight with Cory and a particularly vicious snapping at BooNew over God knows what (I don’t recall), I have become much more even tempered.

    Good morning, all!

  101. AuthorLMendez says:

GF ended my streak! Damn him!

  102. Bitterlaw says:

Tim – It is a good fight. I don’t know how EML feels. I do not think you can post at 8:23 and then start claiming victory if there is no response by 8:24.

  103. AuthorLMendez says:

yeah Tim the declaring victory stuff is weak

  104. Tim says:

Would you people please quit pointing out the things I use to make him mad?

You’re giving all my secrets away.

  105. Tim says:

Try posting rapid fire, like that.

It absolutely infuriates whoever you’re dealing with.

Didn’t lisab teach any of you that?

  106. Bitterlaw says:

Tim – Sorry about cracking your code. As I have always said, although I’m not sure that I have ever agreed with you, I’m glad to have a New Deal Democrat participate in our discussions. The others are either dead or in museums.

  107. Tim says:

Bitterlaw, I thought you knew all of my head games. LOL

  108. Bitterlaw says:

    Tim sucks. Right?

  109. Bitterlaw says:

    No answer, Tim?

  110. Tim says:

And, I know I’m a politcal dinosaur. I know my kind doesn’t exist much, any longer.

  111. Bitterlaw says:

    I win. It is fun.

  112. Tim says:

Good, Bitterlaw! LOL Remember, “rapid fire”……………

  113. Tim says:

Now, I’ve gotta go. Tell MD my break with the comrades is over.

And, you really stood on his lawn, Bitterlaw?

    That’s kinda cool…….

  114. Bitterlaw says:

Tim – Tom Joad wouldn’t even be a Democrat anymore. He worked too hard to put up with the slackers in the modern Dem party. He loaded 27 people into a Model T, damn it. Only Author would do that now. Zing!

  115. Bitterlaw says:

I really did. I scared his daughter, too. She didn’t think fathers could be so tall.

  116. GF says:

Bitter drove up on the lawn and stood there with his boombox playing “In Your Eyes.” It was a touching moment, certainly as far as the anals of the Philly A-Holes go.

  117. SoHope says:

Senate dems compare guns to child pornography

  118. AuthorLMendez says:

” Only Author would do that now. ”

You try concealing 27 cousins from the Federal Govt

  119. Bitterlaw says:

Congratulations on engagement, Author. Oh. Was that a secret?

  120. Bitterlaw says:

117 – There are 2 “n”s in annals, GF. The song was actually, “Gettin’ Jiggy with it.”

  121. AuthorLMendez says:

Bitter I’ve been thinking about it. We end up having more and serious talks about how we’d want our wedding to be like and who we should invite. She’s even showing me engagement rings. Obviously she’s trying to give me a sign.

  122. SoHope says:

Make sure to invite HHR officials. I won’t attend but at least invite us.

  123. GF says:

Mr. Governor, you missed the pun; “anals” vis-a-vis the Philly A-Holes.

I motion that we dissolve the HHR Parliament and call early elec…wait, wrong electoral system.

  124. LeBron James says:

Author – It’s about damn time.

  125. jason says:

” I still can’t believe that you actually listed Right to Work Laws as an example of landmark legislation for Working People.”

Really? Seems like RTW states are doing quite well, thanks.

Tim the union hack whines about “companies exporting jobs” and forget why that happens.

RTW keeps jobs in America, not by artificial government mandates, but for market economy reasons.

  126. Bitterlaw says:

I got the joke, GF. That is why I pointed it out. I’m sorry for being a sensitive A-hole.

  127. jason says:

“She’s even showing me engagement rings. Obviously she’s trying to give me a sign.”

    Author is a goner.

  128. AuthorLMendez says:

Author – It’s about damn time.

    Comment by LeBron James — March 14, 2013 @ 1:49 pm

it’ll be 4 years of dating come June. That’ll be quicker then how long it took you to get a ring

  129. Bitterlaw says:

Obviously she’s trying to give me a sign.

My wife came right out and said, “What are we doing? Where is this going?” I recall that she flashed a knife but she denies it.

  130. jason says:

    Hey Rockefeller Troll, f–k off!!!

  131. AuthorLMendez says:

“My wife came right out and said, “What are we doing? Where is this going?” I recall that she flashed a knife but she denies it.”

Bitter will be subject of a ID channel documentary in a less then a decade, book it

  132. Lebron James says:

Don’t hate. I feel a “sore hamstring” developing before the next game. You want the streak to continue or not?

  133. jason says:

    I had an arranged wedding.

    By her.

  134. Bitterlaw says:

I already told her that I would prefer to die than be divorced if she wants to get rid of me. I just have to make sure she doesn’t get Jul’s phone number.

  135. AuthorLMendez says:

“You want the streak to continue or not?”

    My apologies Mr. James…

  136. Bitterlaw says:

I was married 5 years after we started dating. 22 years later I still don’t know why she stays.

  137. AuthorLMendez says:

    “I had an arranged wedding.

    By her.”

    the Amish don’t play…

  138. jason says:

“And, I know I’m a politcal dinosaur. I know my kind doesn’t exist much, any longer.”

Tim thinks he is a different kind of Democrat.

I have news for Tim, those Democrats left the party years ago.

Tim is just another nanny state liberal, a real garden variety type, nothing special.

Big government, nanny state. That’s it.

  139. Bitterlaw says:

That is 22 years after the first hookup…I mean date.

  140. jason says:

” 22 years later I still don’t know why she stays.”

I thought long and hard, trying to help you out, but I couldn’t think of anything.

    Sorry. I tried.

  141. Bitterlaw says:

jason – Thanks. I appreciate it. I normally tell MD’s wife that he is worth keeping. We discuss it after breakfast.

  142. MD says:

Author – I agree that the kid actually has a camera presence. Unlike Jul.

  143. MD says:

Funny thing is Bitter. I say he same to your wife but it is after having wild sex.

  144. MD says:

    Oh sorry ,

    In Liberty!

  145. MD says:

Where is Janz these days? We need to class up this place a bit.

  146. Bitterlaw says:

Once again, MD ignores nuance and style. Great post, MD!

    In Liberty!

  147. jason says:

Wife swapping is frowned upon here in Amish country. Bummer.

  148. jason says:

    Cow swapping is ok though.

  149. MD says:

    Nuance is overrated.

  150. MD says:

    In Liberty!

Wonder if he ends real conversations that way?

  151. Little Mikey says:

What is the “sex” that you speak of?

  152. jason says:

Also, is there a type of salute that goes with it?

  153. EML says:

Damn, one meeting and I miss out on Tim the Dim talking about me for an hour. I must really be in his head. God knows there’s nothing else in there.

  154. AuthorLMendez says:

“What is the “sex” that you speak of?”

    ask Nicole

  155. MD says:

    I am no sure Jason.

    In Liberty!

  156. SoHope says:

I need to work on my catch phrase…

    Excelsior!

    ….opinions?

  157. Bitterlaw says:

Wonder if he ends real conversations that way?

    Jul has real conversations?

  158. GF says:

Author, you’re moving too slow! I met my wife on Feb. 2nd; 12 weeks later (to the day), we were engaged, and I deployed the following week. Mind you, we met while I was on shore leave in California for a week, but I promptly went back to Hawaii. We talked three hours a night on the phone until she flew out to see me for five days around St. Patty’s, and then I spent two weeks with her the next month when on leave prior to deployment. Aside from five days in Hong Kong when she flew out to see me, I did not see her again until the weekend I flew home to L.A. in September so we could get married. Thus, we had about 90 days of actual long distance dating from first meeting to taking vows.

Six years later, like Bitter, I have no idea why she stays. If you’ve been living with her for even half the time, you’re effectively married. May as well legalize it.

How come I am able to find employment at a decent wage without any union thuggery to help me out? If unions are so necessary, how do people stay employed?

I have no doubt that if my facility were unionized, the company would’ve shut down long ago and moved elsewhere. Democrats have made business in NY hard enough without throwing unions into the mix.

Look at the aircraft industry. Southern CA used to be the mecca of aircraft development. Now, thanks to unions, there are very few aerospace companies left there. They have dispersed elsewhere, to Texas, Georgia, Florida. And now Boeing is moving out of Washington to South Carolina thanks to union thuggery. Has the union helped out workers in WA by forcing Boeing to take jobs elsewhere?

Of the nine million Jews who had resided in Europe before the Holocaust, approximately two-thirds were killed.[5] Over one million Jewish children were killed in the Holocaust, as were approximately two million Jewish women and three million Jewish men.[6][7] A network of over 40,000 facilities in Germany and German-occupied territory were used to concentrate, hold, and kill Jews and other victims.[8]

Some scholars argue that the mass murder of the Romani and people with disabilities should be included in the definition,[9][10] and some use the common noun “holocaust” to describe other Nazi mass murders, including those of Soviet prisoners of war, Polish and Soviet civilians, and homosexuals.[11][12] Recent estimates based on figures obtained since the fall of the Soviet Union indicates some ten to eleven million civilians and prisoners of war were intentionally murdered by the Nazi regime.”

Slovakia criminalized denial of fascist crimes in general in late 2001; in May 2005, the term “Holocaust” was explicitly adopted by the penal code and in 2009, it became illegal to deny any act regarded by an international criminal court as genocide. The Parliament of Hungary adopted the most recent legislation, which declared denial or trivialization of the Holocaust a crime punishable by up to three years imprisonment”

  313. MD (IP - Akin and Mourdock Will Win!) says:

Smerconish was a lawyer/talk show host for worked as a low level appointee in GWHB’s administration. He built up a very solid following in the late 90’s through the mid 2000’s on WPHT. He kept his full time job as a lawyer until PHT said it was us full time or you are out. He left for a year. He was definitely conservative (although not a dead ender) and mixed in a lot of local topics. He came back after a year and they gave him drive time.

Then candidate Obama came on his show and Obama fell in love. He endorsed Obama, his show went national and lost it’s local flavor and then he spent more than 4 years carrying Obama’s water. Thus, his show went into the toilet. They put him up against Rush (who along with Hannity and Beck used to have their shows aired at PHT until a year or so ago) and promptly proceeded to get his butt kicked. Now he is going on satellite. His show is deadly boring now.

“I interviewed Mexican journalist Evangelina Hernandez while visiting Denver last week. Hernandez said, “Illegal aliens pay rent, buy groceries, buy clothes. What happens to your country’s economy if 20 million people go away?”

Hmmm, I thought, what would happen?

So I did my due diligence, buried my nose as a reporter into the FACTS I found below.

It’s a good question, it deserves an honest answer. Over 80% of Americans demand secured borders and illegal migration stopped. But what would happen if all 20 million or more vacated America? The answers I found may surprise you!

In California, if 3.5 million illegal aliens moved back to Mexico, it would leave an extra $10.2 billion to spend on overloaded school systems, bankrupt hospitals and overrun prisons. It would leave highways cleaner, safer and less congested. Everyone could understand one another as English became the dominant language again.”

[…the journalist goes on to document the costs of illegal immigrants in various states–prisons, education, crime, sexual assaults, etc.

By the way, so far this year my boss has had the following:

The flu – not a virus but the actual flu right at the beginning of the year.

For the last month a back condition so bad that he had to work out of his house for 3 weeks, finally got a cort isone shot and came into the office last week on crutches.

He insists on going to Palm Springs with me for a conference this week because he really wanted to attend the tennis matches. He is a huge tennis player and is (or was) physically fit. The 5 hour plane ride almost kills him. The day after we get to the conference we sponsor a dinner with about 30 people. He leaves early. He doesn’t show up to the conference the next day and calls me to tell me that he couldn’t sleep due to his back the night before. Then he tells me his elbow has swelled up to the size of a basketball. He has to stay in Palm Springs, hardly able to walk and gets to the medical center where they drain 20 CC’s of puss out of his elbow. They give him anti-biotics. He will fly home tomorrow. Wonder what that will do for his back? As a human being, I hope he gets well.

However, think about this when you want to F with MD.

  339. jason says:

But let’s not make excuses. He was woefully unprepared to run for President, he believed the morons that told him all you have to do is run and you have it made.

349- Unprepared, clearly- but also having one’s spine fused and not taking the pills for it isn’t exactly a recipe for success either. I just don’t want to write him off as a fool either, particularly considering his record. He’s the one 2012 candidate who I could see actually running in 2016 – there are others I’d rather see- but I viscerally like the guy as well- self made, Eagle Scout, military service, etc, with in a tight spot, national electoral circumstances aside.

  345. MD (IP - Akin and Mourdock Will Win!) says:

Author – it is pure liquidity rally and quite honestly I am very worried.

The TTM PE is now over 18 and the PE Shiller 10 is HIGHER than it was in October of 1987. More than 10% higher and has reached the 86th percentile of richness.

I am already hearing – “this time it is different”. I don’t know when it will end but if the TTM PE gets to 19.25, I am taking another 10% out and it if somehow gets to 21, then another 20% leaves the market. Today, I have 57% of my portfolio in the market not counting my equity in my house and personal assets.

  346. W. PA Observer says:

and by “others” I mean other candidates, not other 2012 people- that was a disaster of a primary class.

  347. MD (IP - Akin and Mourdock Will Win!) says:

    354 – WPA

He really cannot recover from the debacle on a national basis. This isn’t like Reagan who gained a strong foothold as a result of his showing in 76.

  348. jason says:

” but also having one’s spine fused and not taking the pills for it isn’t exactly a recipe for success either. ”

Then he shouldn’t have run. The Presidency is not for amateurs. Rick Perry made an ass out himself, and blaming fused spine or pills or whatever is not going to fly.

He is not a fool. But I think the Peter Principle applies here. Rick Perry is a good governor of Texas. Let’s leave it at that.

  349. jason says:

This is the same troll that probably said the stock market meant nothing when it broke records under Bush.

  350. MD (IP - Akin and Mourdock Will Win!) says:

I agree with jason. No one actively involved in the primaries in 12 should be our nominee in 16. My biggest fear (well sometimes I do wish for it just to prove a point) is Santorum squeaking by because the reasonable candidates split the vote. Sort of the opposite of 12.

That would be a complete disaster.

  351. W. PA Observer says:

357- I agree- though a voice in the back of my mind recalls Bill Clinton recovering from crapping the bed in the 1988 convention in front of the whole country in his Castro-length introduction of Dukakis. There’s a sense in modern politics that 4 years can put a lot of distance between candidates and their f$*kups. That said, a primary class of Rubio, Christie, Bobby Jindal, and some other governors will be fascinating enough.

  352. MD (IP - Akin and Mourdock Will Win!) says:

    jason,

The FED has gamed things so that the market is the only place where you can earn a real return. Unfortunately, the last 15% has not been built on increasing earnings but on multiple expansion. When that happened from a 14 to a 16 TTM PE, I was OK with it. The rise since then is troubling.

  353. Bitterlaw says:

Seeing that rdio studio in 337 hurt. A better 9 hours on the radio ny my life could have changed. Now I,m waiting to tell a guy GFY on his birthday.

  354. MD (IP - Akin and Mourdock Will Win!) says:

Clinton had a special factor that Perry doesn’t have – not even close. I like Perry but agree with jason. Stick with Texas.

  355. W. PA Observer says:

360- Valid concern- though I think Santorum largely filled the void of the “non-Romney” that Perry probably would have held had he not imploded- I think it had more to do with the weakness of other candidates sans-Newt Gingrich (but who had his own messy personal life)and people defaulting to the last person standing with a record in office and some retail skills. I don’t think Rick will be a factor next time around considering the bench of other people with social conservative bona-fides to go with their other attributes.

  356. Michael says:

The stock market is up because its an alternative to buying a CD or opening a savings account paying 1% a year.

Don’t be fooled. The vaunted GE, with it’s Obama bootlicking CEO, is at 23.

It used to sell for 60.

  360. MD (IP - Akin and Mourdock Will Win!) says:

365 – I honestly viewed Romney as a transitional candidate to the next generation. We have a ton of great possibilities for 16 but the dead enders are bound and determined to blow it for us. That does not mean that I think Santorum will win the primary. I think it is highly unlikely. I also cannot see Christie winning it either.

  361. MD (IP - Akin and Mourdock Will Win!) says:

jason – I know a guy at work that just bought a shi+load of put options against a REIT ETF with an expiration date a year old. A premium of $4 against a strike of $70. He is betting a significant amount of $ that REIT’s, with a PE of 60 (yes 60) are going to fall far from here. If he is right, he will make a fortune potentially.

Wish I could make that bet. Not allowed to because of my position. It sucks.

  362. W. PA Observer says:

370- We have nominated McCain and Romney the past two cycles – Christie could carve out a space for himself between the moderate and finance sorts, and the aggressive “screw you, media” persona among some of the populists. But he’ll have a hell of a time squaring that circle in Iowa or South Carolina. Florida would be his best bet- but if Rubio or Jeb Bush runs, that’ll be their turf- then it’s a long drought to deal with. Christie would really be a New Hampshire-or bust candidate.

  363. jason says:

” Bill Clinton recovering from crapping the bed in the 1988 convention in front of the whole country in his Castro-length introduction of Dukakis.”

Very different. Clinton gave a bad speech at a convention with dozens of speeches. And the convention was about Dukakis, not Clinton. His bad speech was a footnote.

Perry self destructed not in one, but several debates. Anyone can have a bad night, Perry had like 5 in a row.

Let’s say he runs in 2016. Every move will be compared to 2012. In the end, all he can hope for is to improve HIS performance. A side show.

  370. jason says:

” Who cares what GE is trading for? bad company poorly run”

    hahahhahah

Please don’t tell me you want to compare Google, a search engine to GE, and thus render an opinion on the economy.

And then, you go and blame any financial troubles on anyone but them. How much more do they need? When is it enough?

I’m sorry. But, people just don’t believe what you say about that, any longer. You’ve been saying the same thing for 30 years, now. And, times are passing you by. 399. jason says:

    390. I think what has become stale is your socialist rhetoric about how business is bad for the middle class and that personal responsibility should be replaced by government handouts.

What’s bad for the middle class is nanny state politics. The rich will mostly stay rich. The “wealth redistribution” you are seeing now is increasing the number of poor and the number of people dependent on government, and these people ARE coming from the middle class.

It’s the middle class who doesn’t have jobs. It’s the middle class that have their mortgages underwater. It’s the middle class that is seeing their insurance premiums go up as they pay more for worse healthcare.

Now, it’s true that capitalism is out of style in America. As you say, there are more nanny staters now than ever voting for big government. And for Democrats, the more people dependent on big government and voting Democratic, the better.

  400. Walt, HHR Senator, formerly known as Delegate says:

    PIG TETHERING STANCE
    *********************************
    No nationwide law requiring tethering.

    Local option in municipalities.

Cities “may” require tethering of pet or other pigs who live in incorporated areas. Similar to dog leash laws.

If apartment dwellers, renters or homeowners have a pet porker, it must be in an enclosed yard, or have an invisible fence and pig must wear a shock collar.
    No excessive oiking betwee 10 p.m. and 8 a.m.

When pig is taken for walks in the city limits, porker must be on a leash of sufficient length and dimentions that are deemed appropriate to its size (all the way up to requiring anvils and logging chains). Owner must also bring pooper scooper, just like they do for dogs.

Also illegal raise, train and use pigs to be fighters. (Called the Michael Vick rule).

Owner discression as to whether it must also be muzzled depending on whether the owner fears his pork pal might try to eat small children who are free range and not leashed.

If pig does cause mayhem, police are authorized to off the pig and then hold a free community pig roast.

    *********************************
Exemptions to all the above if the pig is registered as a service pig (seeing eye, watch pig or guard pig, is your ‘civil union’ partner, etc.) or if it’s owner is an elected official.

Also, ban on illegal immigrant pigs, including those water logged pigs from China or from Muslim countries who came here illegally to avoid persecution (Pigger-cution?).

  401. Diogenes says:

@Tim – The GOP is a bit too cozy with Business interests but at the same time, the Democrats really have no interest in increasing the size of the middle class.

Here’s the biggest takeaway from 2012. The ranks of the poor increased by 3%. Obama’s winning margin among them increased versus 2008.

California is another example. Shrinking middle class for a long time replaced by latino immigrants. They have no interest in helping the economy or increasing the size of the middle class. It’s la raza politics to the extreme, constant lobbying by special interests in Sacramento with a large dose of identity politics.

I couldn’t wait to get away from that nightmare.

As it is, the nightmare is spreading.

  402. Diogenes says:

That is, the dems want people to get poorer because they win more of those voters.

  403. jason says:

” I know why they left the Country. Greed. Profit margins for shareholders. That’s why. ”

Oh please. Did you cut and paste from Daily Kos?

In the first place, do you know who these big bad evil “shareholders” are? They are retirees, pension funds, 401k’s, people like my 80 year old mother in law who lives on dividend checks.

The reason most companies left is that is they stayed they would not be competitive in a globalized market. And why were they not competitive? Because union bosses and fat cats cared more about themselves than the workers they were supposed to represent.

I find it hard to believe how anyone could be against RTW. I can’t think of anything more anti-democratic than being forced to join a union and pay union dues against your will.

Unions are free to organize in RTW states. They just don’t have a monopoly.

  404. AuthorLMendez says:

“Unions are free to organize in RTW states. They just don’t have a monopoly.”

But like Tim said, those people who dare not want/need union help are just “free riders”. He’s for the working man, as long as the working man can’t make his own choices that is…

  405. SusyQue says:

Portman’s son’s gay lifestyle is very disappointing and certainly not at all a wise decision by Rob Portman to now announce gay-marriage is an acceptable lifestyle. This decision tells me Rob Rortman loves his son more that he loves Jesus. Jesus said: If you [really] love Me, you will keep (obey) My commands. (John 14:15)

What is a parent to do when their daughter or son tells them they are now, gay?
Parents should explain why homosexuality is an abomination to the Lord, but continue to love their child as they are.

  406. jason says:

    411. Walt, let’s cut to the chase.

    What are the butchering regulations?

    You know the issues:

    Examples

Is it ok to bleed it on the front lawn or is the runoff considered pollution?

Does the squealing during slaughter have to be under a certain decibel level?

    etc.

  407. AuthorLMendez says:

“Parents should explain why homosexuality is an abomination to the Lord”

or just tell them dinner is ready. leave God to decide how to judge them. if homosexuality is truly a sin, it just one of many we all commit in our everyday lives

  408. jason says:

” This decision tells me Rob Rortman loves his son more that he loves Jesus.”

Just when I thought Tim’s defense of big labor was the most ridiculous post of the day, SusyQue lets him off the hook.

  409. AuthorLMendez says:

” This decision tells me Rob Rortman loves his son more that he loves Jesus. Jesus said: If you [really] love Me, you will keep (obey) My commands. (John 14:15)”

did Jesus ever make a comment about gay marriage? someone refresh my memory…

  410. Bitterlaw says:

I hope that the HHR Congress will do its damn job and vote on Pig Tethering day. A straight up or down vote. Do not put pork in this bill.

  411. AuthorLMendez says:

if my son came out to me I’d tell him “OK…dinner is ready now by the way.”

  412. jason says:

” Rob Portman to now announce gay-marriage is an acceptable lifestyle”

SusyQue, show me where he said that.

  413. Fred the Magic Penguin says:

If I recall correctly, a recent Chief Justice of SCOTUS called certain types of lawsuits “legal pollution.” Tim the Dim’s comments constitute “blog pollution” and should be reported to the EPA for immediate remediation.

  414. AuthorLMendez says:

Governor you know where me and SoHope stand, Walt’s Manchin-like waffling is the problem

  415. Bitterlaw says:

What is a parent to do when their daughter or son tells them they are now, gay?

Does this apply to just gays? Let’s use SusyQue’s logic:

What is a parent to do when their daughter or son tells them they like oral sex?

What is a parent to do when their daughter or son tells them they do not keep kosher?

What is a parent to do when their daughter or son tells them they flog the dolphin?

I would be more upset if my children tell me they are Democrats than they are gay.

  416. Bitterlaw says:

Author – Then you have a problem. 2-0 in favor with an abstention will not get you a veto-proof bill. Suck it.

  417. jason says:

I oppose gay marriage and would vote against it any time it came around for a vote. I think marriage is between a man and a woman and I don’t consider myself homophobic for thinking that.

And just because it seems it’s a losing battle I am not getting on the gay marriage bandwagon.

However, if Dick Cheney and Rob Portman or any other politician feels compelled to support it because of their family situations that’s fine with me.

I am not voting for or against any candidate because of their position on gay marriage.

  418. Diogenes says:

If my son were gay, I certainly wouldn’t accept gay marriage. Call it civil unions or whatever you want. Sign a document pledging yourself legally to each other like a married couple would and you can even get all the legal benefits of a married couple.

But don’t create a law forcing your beliefs onto me.

I think this hurts Portman too. Ohio is a diverse state and evangelicals are an important part of the coalition. Portman will be up in a presidential election year and will need that evangelical vote.

  419. SoHope says:

    I agree with Senator Walt’s bill…

    I vote yes

It passes the House…now to the Senate

  420. jason says:

” I would be more upset if my children tell me they are Democrats than they are gay.”

    Best post of the day.

    (But it’s early)

  421. AuthorLMendez says:

“I would be more upset if my children tell me they are Democrats than they are gay.”

    ditto

“I think this hurts Portman too.”

OH voted for the 1st President to openly be pro-gay marriage

    “I agree with Senator Walt’s bill…”

    what bill?

  422. Amos Stoltzfuss says:

Can pigs be used to pull a buggy?

  423. Bitterlaw says:

I support civil unions. The problem with “marriage” is that it opens the door to lawsuits against churches that won’t perform the ceremonies. However, under current law, that litigation would fail as courts generally can not interfere in religious institutions. One exception is the cases where parents decide to pray instead of getting medical treatment for children. Of course, a few Supreme Court changes and the general precedent falls.

  424. SoHope says:

    #411

  425. Bitterlaw says:

The irony is that SusyQue would oppose imposition of Sharia law on the United States but would be perfectly fine with basing our laws on Biblical definitions of “abomination.”

  426. W. PA Observer says:

429- I honestly doubt they’ll care much- particularly if they’re voting for President that year.

As Lenin said, “You got to crack a few pigs heads in order to have meat.”

    Let the squealing begin.

If you are squeamish about the blood and the noise, turn your head and stick you fingers in your ears while you go get your sliverware and plate.

I would support an amendment to capture the pig blood and use drones to air drop that and the pig entrals on Iran.

  428. Walt, HHR Senator, formerly known as Delegate says:

    Me? Like Manchin? Waffles?

440.Walt, I would prefer we limit the scope to the freedom to tethering issue.

    Now who is “waffling”.

Time to go whole hog on the pig issue.

  432. Walt, HHR Senator, formerly known as Delegate says:

433.Can pigs be used to pull a buggy?

To get Tim on board, YES–if there are children being helped.

I am ok with that, especially if the butchering equipment is in the buggy.

  433. SoHope says:

I will pass here in the House any bill that includes freedom to pig tether

  441. Rockefeller Republican says:

Most voters don’t give a damn about gay marriage. The correct view on the matter is federalist: leave it to the states. GOP deadenders keep harping on the issue mostly because they are self-loathing closet cases such as Little Ricky Santorum. Republicans need to focus on the more relevant issues of jobs and taxes.

    Christie/Martinez ’16!

  442. Bitterlaw says:

jason – tell the pigs to relax. The HHR legislative branch is like a bad Abbot and Costello routine.

  444. AuthorLMendez says:

The HHR Congress has flexed it’s muscles. So let it be written. So let it be done.

  445. Bitterlaw says:

For the record, I would veto the bill. However, under our rules, a bill that passes unanimously in the legislature does not require a vote to over-ride the veto. Pigs may be tethered…until the newly appointed Justice Bitterlaw rules on the constitutionality of the bill. Didn’t see that coming, bitches? Read the fine print – “During the period of a vacancy on the HHR Supreme Court, the Governor may appoint any lawyer to decide cases. If there are no other HHR lawyers available, the Governor may appoint himself and retain his Executive office.”*

  497. DW says:

492 – As long as people are not breaking laws, they are free to do behind closed doors what they want to do. But “gay marriage” isn’t behind closed doors. Its very public and it becomes a fabric of culture and society. Society for centuries has been well served by the tradition of the family structure including a man and a woman who marry, and if they choose and are able, bear children. Once “gay marriage” is broadly accepted, and protected, then its on to “group marriage,” “pet marriage” and so on, until it becomes completely meaningless, and the very idea of “marriage” itself is obsolete.

OTOH, Ds steer left to win primary, then move toward center to win GE and when they win GE rervert to hard left and stay there. Only come back toward center on some issues when close to next GE.

Ds don’t ever put election behind them nor do they any more try to appear to be moderate centrists. That is a primary beatdown for them.

  500. jason says:

    509. I think you have a point. What will happen is that the institution of marriage will tend to disappear, in effect it will become meaningless. It will become a mere form of association. There won’t be traditional marriage any more, which is what gays say they want. A paradox.

  501. Bitterlaw says:

DW – Would society collapse if 2 men or 2 women had civil unions but not the word marriage? They would still be walking around in public with the same legal rights as Married couples.

DW the best bet for your view then is to get Govt out of the equation of marriage but that won’t be easy

If Hoover wins in 1928 there will never be another Democrat President.

If Truman wins in 1948, there will never be another Republican President.

If George H.W. Bush wins in 1988, there will never be another Democrat President.

  510. DW says:

513 – I am not really keen on civil unions either. Not sure that it benefits society as a whole.

514 – You can mock my view with absurdity if you wish. But it does follow logically that one leads to the other. There is an agenda here larger than gays. If you talk to gays, most just want to be left alone and would rather not be bothered over the “battle” for “marriage.” The objective here is the systematic destruction of the traditional family unit. Sure YOU aren’t going to marry your cat, because you are already married to your wife. But take someone like Rosie O Donnell…she gets in a tiff with her wife and divorces her, and decides she is tired of tolerating stupid people, so announces, “I have a right to marry my cat–she always does what I want. Society has to acknowledge that I am a mental case who desires a marriage certificate with my cat.” Uhm, no, society doesn’t have to acknowledge it.

Anybody and everybody has a right to private behavior in their homes, no matter how deviant, tasteless, or dispicable it may seem to others. But nobody has a right to demand that society at large be required to publically acknowledge their private behavior as praiseworthy and honorable.

We are already there. The GOP as we know it is forever defeated. So “yes” there can be a GOP prez again someday, but “no” it will not be the party as we know it. It will be a party that gives away goodies at taxpayer expense at a greater rate than the Dems. There are too many sucking on the national teat to ever go back to responsible spending again.

Author, you said the filibuster was pretty exciting, which Bunu agrees with. Welcome to the Paul-bot club, my young friend. We can be Holocaust-deniers together as well, won’t that be fun?

Tim, you were happy that Rand Paul used the old-fashioned method of filibustering, which Bunu also liked. Welcome to the Paul-bot club, my old friend. We can be Holocaust-deniers together as well, won’t that be fun?

Anyone else agree with Rand Paul in the last 2 weeks? Welcome to the Paul-bot club, my friends. We can ALL be Holocaust-deniers together as well, won’t that be fun?

If anyone has a problem with being labeled a Holocaust-denier, don’t blame me. I am just using the logic of one of the posters on this board, who was not disagreed with in any way when he used the same putrid logic on others.

Study: Men who idealize large breasts are more likely to be hostile toward women

The problem is primal, so the research methods are not to be outdone. 361 white British men were “taken to a quiet private location” to look at women. Not real women; 3D computer renderings. The men were allowed to rotate them 360 degrees. The only difference among the women was breast size.

Swami and Tovée, at the Universities of Manchester and Newcastle, respectively, compared the results with the men’s preferences in breast size, which showed that “men who more strongly endorsed benevolently sexist attitudes toward women, who more strongly objecti?ed women, and who were more hostile toward women idealized a large female breast size.”

    SHOCKING BUT INTERESTING INFORMATION

In 1887 Alexander Tyler, a Scottish history professor at the University of Edinburgh, had this to say about the fall of the Athenian Republic some 2,000 years prior: “A democracy is always temporary in nature; it simply cannot exist as a permanent form of government. A democracy will continue to exist up until the time that voters discover that they can vote themselves generous
gifts from the public treasury. From that moment on, the majority
always votes for the candidates who promise the most benefits from
the public treasury, with the result that every democracy will finally
collapse over loose fiscal policy, (which is) always followed by a
    dictatorship.”

“The average age of the world’s greatest civilizations from the
beginning of history, has been about 200 years. During those 200
years, these nations always progressed through the following sequence:

    From bondage to spiritual faith;
    From spiritual faith to great courage;
    From courage to liberty;
    From liberty to abundance;
    From abundance to complacency;
    From complacency to apathy;
    From apathy to dependence;
    From dependence back into bondage.”
    The Obituary follows:

    Born 1776, Died 2016
It doesn’t hurt to read this several times.
Professor Joseph Olson of Hamline University School of Law in
St. Paul, Minnesota, points out some interesting facts concerning
    the last Presidential election:

Number of States won by: Obama: 19 Romney: 29
Square miles of land won by: Obama: 580,000 Romney: 2,427,000
Population of counties won by: Obama: 127 million Romney: 143 million
Murder rate per 100,000 residents in counties won by: Obama: 13.2 Romney: 2.1

Professor Olson adds: “In aggregate, the map of the territory
Romney won was mostly the land owned by the taxpaying citizens
    of the country.

Obama territory mostly encompassed those citizens living in low
income tenements and living off various forms of government
    welfare…”

Olson believes the United States is now somewhere between the
“complacency and apathy” phase of Professor Tyler’s definition of
democracy, with some forty percent of the nation’s population
already having reached the “governmental dependency” phase.

If Congress grants amnesty and citizenship to twenty million
criminal invaders called illegals – and they vote – then we can say
goodbye to the USA in fewer than five years.

If you are not, then pass this along to help everyone realize just
how much is at stake, knowing that apathy is the greatest danger to our freedom..

  597. Bubu says:

Yeah, in my X number of years of life I the only info I read on the number of Jews that died in the holocaust was 900,000…who knew?

  598. Bubu says:

But ask me how many delegates Ron Paul got from each state in 2012 and I can tell you exactly how many?

  599. Tulipomania says:

Nope. Was talking about Germany. Wasn’t disputing total number in that thread.

  600. Bubu says:

I THINK grocery stores sale milk and bread.

A gallon of bread is around 60 cents and a loaf of bread about 30 cent but it’s hard to be sure.

  601. SoHope says:

I call BS BS BS BS BS BS!

“Bunu – do you think the Holocaust happened and that 6 million Jews were exterminated by the Nazi’s?

    Comment by MD — January 10, 2011 @ 9:59 pm

    343.#341

I think the Holocaust occurred and about 900,000 were killed.

    Comment by bunu — January 10, 2011 @ 10:00 pm”

  602. SoHope says:

No mention of “only in Germany”

    344.Maybe 1,000,000 or just short.

    Hard to know the numbers.

    Comment by bunu — January 10, 2011 @ 10:01 pm

  603. Tulipomania says:

    And from exact same thread:

Hmmmm wikipedia has higher numbers listed.

Maybe the 6 million is accurate.

    Comment by bunu — January 10, 2011 @ 10:09 pm”

  604. SoHope says:

Then 9 minutes later after everyone was calling you an idiot holocaust denier/minimizer you said…

353.Hmmmm wikipedia has higher numbers listed.

Maybe the 6 million is accurate.

    Comment by bunu — January 10, 2011 @ 10:09 pm

…again no mention of “only in Germany”

  605. Tulipomania says:

Actually I did in the next post. Go read the thread.

  606. SoHope says:

Then a whole 42 minutes later:

373.I actually read the 1 million number somewhere, and I thought it was wikipedia, but I guess not.

    Comment by bunu — January 10, 2011 @ 10:42 pm

…again…still no mention of “only in Germany”

How long did it take you to come up with a plausable statistical caveat to attempt to cover up your ignorance/holocaust denial-minimizing?

  607. W. PA Observer says:

619- Just checked the archives myself, he really was minimizing the Holocaust, for Pete’s Sake!

Yikes- the archives here can be fun- I wish the comment stream for Election Night 2004 were here, that must have been a fun range of emotions and running commentary.

  608. SoHope says:

Bunu, It’s like being asked who was the 1st President of the US….

and your answer is John Adams…then an hour or so later after everyone is finished laughing at you saying…uh I meant he was first president alphabetically

  609. SoHope says:

and to make matters worse your stupidity wasn’t about something trivial but was a regarding the the most famous genocide of the 20th century.

and you freaking said you “THINK” it happened then reduced it by a factor of 6!!!

  610. SoHope says:

    …aaaaaand he left

What’s wrong…can’t come up with another BS explanation of why you are so stupid.

  611. Tulipomania says:

Read the threads directly after it. I know I was reading an article about it at the time so that’s where that number of deaths in Germany came from.

Also I never denied the 6 million as was evidenced by my posts.

  612. Cory says:

    #620
I can provide at least one of those comments, from memory.
    At about midnight, I posted:
“I’m trying not to vomit as I type this: Congratulations”

Man, that was 8.5 years ago. I wish I could remember my friends’ birthdays with that kind of accuracy.

  613. SoHope says:

When was the first time you excused you stupidity with the “only in Germany” caveat…45 minutes later after being mocked…an hour…a week?

  614. SoHope says:

Any future posting by you on the subject other than you copying and pasting the comment you first used the “germany only” excuse, followed by the amount of time it took after 10:00 pm that night will be considered you admitting your holocaust minimizing.

  615. Tulipomania says:

Actually I was just reading the article about it that same day, but I didn’t post it.

  616. NYCmike (Bronxie) says:

SoHope, MD, Author the popcorn thrower,

You all believe a balanced budget is a worthy goal, Rand Paul does as well. You must be so proud, to support one of the same policies which is supported by a fool who questions the number of human beings who were killed in the Holocaust.

  617. NYCmike (Bronxie) says:

    Tulipomania,

Did I get that right, you do support a balanced budget, don’t you?

  618. SoHope says:

628, ahhh an admission that you never even posted the “in Germany only excuse” and an admission of being an Holocaust denier.

  619. NYCmike (Bronxie) says:

All we need to do is wait for jason to weigh in. I would think he supports a balanced budget, but one never knows these days.

  620. SoHope says:

Bunu wouldn’t support any budget….If his camp ever sniffed any actual government power they would even attack their own budget as being too big.

  621. Tulipomania says:

    Actually i did post it.

  622. SoHope says:

The Spawn of Ron also probably likes puppies too…that doesn’t mean I trust him one bit.

  623. SoHope says:

were and how long after we all mocked you?

  624. NYCmike (Bronxie) says:

How about work requirements for welfare recipients, Tulip? Do you support them? I think we can find a coalition here at HHR who will join with you, the Holocaust denier/questioner. I’ll have to take a look back, but not too far.

You, Bunu, the Holocaust denier, standing beside the epic legends of HHR, arms linked, strength in numbers! MD on your right, jason on his knees, SoHope behind you, Author the popcorn thrower pleading with his amiga to be able to get in the picture.

  625. Tulipomania says:

    Same thread

“No I didn’t. I was told just under a under million died in Germany in the holocaust.

But I didn’t realize so many died in Poland the sum of the rest of Europe gets you to that high of a number.”

  626. SoHope says:

what time was that post, Hilter Jr.?

  627. NYCmike (Bronxie) says:

Tulip, Are you against constantly increasing local property taxes and the amount of money put towards education spending, while never questioning the contracts given to the teachers?

    Did you say yes?

Let’s take a search in the archives to see who supports you.

  628. SoHope says:

    Bunu, do you like puppies?

  629. Tulipomania says:

Look at post 259 in this thread from those links you posted earlier. Those were at 10 PM.
Same exact time as the other posts you were posting.

Not that it matters. It was all in the same thread.

  630. SoHope says:

If David Duke supported stronger borders, low taxes, and smaller government but was a dastardly racist I wouldn’t support him.

I despise Spawn of Ron because a few key policies of him and his father regardless of our similarities on SOME issues.

Sorry, but when it comes to Ronulans, I am a dead-ender.

  631. SoHope says:

same thread….oh so you mean an hour later you decided to cover your stupidity with a plausible caveat

The question was clear…your answer was clear (and wrong by a factor of 6)

  632. SoHope says:

I won’t stand lockstep (or goosestep) with the likes of Stormfront in their opposition of Obama.

  633. Michael says:

Good evening, had a food birthday supper.

  634. NYCmike (Bronxie) says:

    Michael,

Happy Birthday. Do you believe in a balanced budget, like the Holocaust denier does?

  635. NYCmike-Paulbot (Bronxie) says:

When Michael turns 21, he will have a drink birthday supper.

And will still support SOME of the same policies as the Holocaust denier, just like MD, SoHope, Author the popcorn thrower, and jason.

  636. Michael says:

I believe that it is okay to have some debt as long as you have a sold credit rating and you are lowering risk.

  637. Tulipomania says:

    You mean within 9 minutes.

Again. All within same thread. If I posted the article I was reading that day it would make even more sense.

  638. SoHope says:

    uh…9 minutes later….you lie

the question was at 9:59 and was very clear

your answer was at 10:00 and was very clear

“in germany” which was never the question was your excuse way way way later

  639. SoHope says:

does Dave’s filter prevent links from Stormfront?

  640. Tulipomania says:

    False. Look at the times.

“353.Hmmmm wikipedia has higher numbers listed.

Maybe the 6 million is accurate.

  641. SoHope says:

    10:16 is not 9 minutes later…stupid

you can’t excuse that your post at 10:09 goes against the whole “I thought you meant how many died only in Germany” arguement.

Face it you live in the anti-semite (anti-zionist) world of Ron Paul fanatics and minimized the holocaust….that you “thought” happened.

  642. Tulipomania says:

Post 353 was 9 minutes later.

That next post was 7 minutes later.

In your description these events are way later\hours later in the day.

And again there was no holocaust denial in any of this.

  643. SoHope says:

For everyone except Bunu the anti-semite….

Maryland just beat dook 83-74 in the ACC Tournament

    Rejoice!

  644. Michael says:

    @656 yes!!!! Rejoice!!!!!!

  647. MD (IP - Akin and Mourdock Will Win!) says:

WPA – you can find those comments from 04. Good times.

  648. MD (IP - Akin and Mourdock Will Win!) says:

Really Michael? I can’t find the game on my cable system.

  649. MD (IP - Akin and Mourdock Will Win!) says:

NYCMike is now officially pathetic. A huge woe is me, victim complex.

  650. Michael says:

MD the Comcast network. For us it is channel 9

  651. MD (IP - Akin and Mourdock Will Win!) says:

Thanks Michael. I have that channel.

  652. W. PA Observer says:

660- All the comments for the election night threads are listed as “Off”

  653. MD (IP - Akin and Mourdock Will Win!) says:

Dave Wissing – why are the comments from the 04 election gone?

  654. MD (IP - Akin and Mourdock Will Win!) says:

Just saw that WPA. There was some classic stuff in there.

  655. Michael says:

    @664 you’re welcome MD.

  656. W. PA Observer says:

667- Yeah, I bet. I was lurking in November 2010, and that was a fun stream to read as the ass-kicking built and carried on that evening. I was using some of the calls to keep political operative friends in the loop as they were often faster than the news networks or even the mainstream websites were. I remember delivering the call for Corbett to a buddy of mine who was in Pittsburgh preparing to issue an injunction at the Univ. of Pittsburgh precincts which (of course) were trying to stay open that extra hour or three.

  657. jason says:

671 – I think DW provides some competition in that department.

  660. jason says:

The war on free enterprise continues.

“President Barack Obama is preparing to tell all federal agencies for the first time that they should consider the impact on global warming before approving major projects, from pipelines to highways.

The result could be significant delays for natural gas- export facilities, ports for coal sales to Asia, and even new forest roads, industry lobbyists warn.”

  661. SoHope says:

MD, I stepped down voluntarily due to my inability to shut up the idiots that wanted to debate gay marriage for the better part of a day. The office is currently vacant.

  662. Michael says:

@674 who will run for it? Am not running for that office.

  663. jason says:

” And will still support SOME of the same policies as the Holocaust denier, just like MD, SoHope, Author the popcorn thrower, and jason.”

This could be the most asinine post of the day…

    Oh wait…

“I think bitter made ou lt. Gov so he could keep you out of power.”

  664. jason says:

Michael, Bitter makes fun of you 24/7. I would at least appoint you to some important function.

  665. Walt, HHR Senator, formerly known as Delegate says:

Nobody asked me, but I like puppies.

I am saddened that Duke got beat today, especially by (ugh!) Maryland.

For some strange reasons, I have always liked Duke.
    **************************************
But I think the fact that they are called the “Blue Devils” is stupid because “Blue Devils” just does not go well with “Duke”.

  666. SoHope says:

Walt, I know why you like Duke, but I will keep it to myself.

  667. Michael says:

Jason, your word is empty. All I have is your trust.

And yes, bitter did make you Lt. governor to keep you from power. Because the Lt. governor position has NO POWER.

  668. SoHope says:

Personally, I hate dook even worse than I hate Ronulans

  669. SoHope says:

    Tie breaker in the Senate
    Next in line for Gov.

    Yep, no power

  670. jason says:

Bunu didn’t know Jews were killed in Poland? Never heard of Auschwitz, Belzek, Sobibor, Treblinka?

  671. jason says:

” And yes, bitter did make you Lt. governor to keep you from power.”

So I was going to win but clever bastard Bitter got me to accept Lt. Gov. so I would have no power….

Michael, you ARE a political genius.

Nobody else would have thought of that.

  672. SoHope says:

Michael, tell the Governors from AK, TX, IL, WV, and AZ that Lt. Gov’s are nobodies

  673. Walt, HHR Senator, formerly known as Delegate says:

Took wife to dinner and saw a play. “Duck Hunters Shoot Angel.”
Very humorous–but also a poignant twist at the end about missed opportunities in your life. I almost had dust in my eye.
    ******
Bitter and lisab would like it because the main character (from the North) attempts to belittle Southerners.
    ******
Micheal MUST see this play. It will give you perspective and you will grow in wisdom.

But do NOT take G-Ma as it has lots of swear words and is raunchy at times. Also not recommended for you to take a girl here on your first date. Might be awkward.
    ***********************************
MD would NOT like the play as it deals with religious belief in angels.
    ***********************************
Bubu would NOT like the play, as nobody who died was Jewish–not even the angel.

  674. jason says:

    682. Not to mention funerals, weddings, and bar mitzvahs….

  675. jason says:

I am crushed that Walt didn’t mention whether I would have liked the play or not.

  676. Michael says:

@685 I would if I had enough influence in the world.

@684 and he did us all a favor by giving you that seat.

  677. Walt, HHR Senator, formerly known as Delegate says:

    Jason,

I thought you would be too busy taking care of cows and pigs and barn raising to see a play so late in the evening.
    **********************
Yes you would enjoy it. And so would just about everyone else here (except a few).

  678. Michael says:

    Good night everybody.

  679. Walt, HHR Senator, formerly known as Delegate says:

Tim would like the play because they portray the rich guy who owns the tabloid newspaper as a jerk and a boss who mistreats and does not show empathy for his employees.

  680. Bitterlaw says:

I just got back from judging a mock trial competition. I presided as the judge. 16 schools competed. I had Brandeis and Boston University. They were pretty good – except for some “you would never do that in a real court” moments. I tried to talk them out of law school.

One of the college students was a Marine going to college after his enlistment. I was proud to shake his hand and yhank him for his service. It always angers me that I.couldn’t serve but diabetics are worthless to the nation.

  681. Bitterlaw says:

Wake up. mf-ers. Softball practice is at 9:00.

MD to post his BP, workout routine, cholesterol level and Prostate (PSA) score in 3…2…1…

  682. jason says:

“SoHope, MD, Author the popcorn thrower,

You all believe a balanced budget is a worthy goal, Rand Paul does as well.”

Poor bastard is really grasping at straws now.

Does Rand Paul like cute puppies and kittens too?

I could almost pity him, if that was my nature.

  683. MD (IP - Akin and Mourdock Will Win!) says:

NYC is truly pathetic now. I find his posts to be funny though. Woe is me!

  684. jason says:

This concept that because I might share some views with Rand Paul means I support him has some scary implications.

Fidel Castro likes Cuban sandwiches. I like Cuban sandwiches….. does that mean…

It gets worse… didn’t Dennis Rodman have sushi with Kim Jong-un in North Korea?

    Oh no……

  685. Michael says:

@696 I think he has some valid points, however he gets on my nerves.

  686. MD (IP - Akin and Mourdock Will Win!) says:

Weight fluctuating between 165 and 167. BP in f’n fantastic shape. LDL still a bit high but improving. Everything else looks very good. Circumstances have taken me off my training routine. Medium term goal is to do a 5K in less than 23 minutes.

  687. MD (IP - Akin and Mourdock Will Win!) says:

    michael,

I never make it to those points in his posts.

  688. jason says:

Hey Bitter why don’t you cut the bull and admit you were not accepted in the military because you said:

“While I support the right of all the other soldiers to handle weapons, I, Bitter, will not handle any”.

  689. jason says:

I am officially appointing MD to do my eulogy*, since he obviously will outlast us all.

*Run any preliminary drafts by me any time.

  690. MD (IP - Akin and Mourdock Will Win!) says:

LOL! I was just thinking of the standard Bitter gun statement.

  691. MD (IP - Akin and Mourdock Will Win!) says:

    sniff, sniff

jason was a pric k but was a committed pric k and he was our pric k. sniff, sniff. He loved his family, country and hated the Pauls. He could have 5 battles going on at HHR at the same time. Sadly, he didn’t make it into the Hall of Fame with his buddies Bitter and MD. Oh, and he liked Amish girls. Now, let’s drink.

  692. MD (IP - Akin and Mourdock Will Win!) says:

    jason,

What do you do for a living?

  693. jason says:

    704. Hmmm, has potential. I think some of those points could be fleshed out more, so to speak. The battles part should be expanded.

But it already almost made me cry, so on the right track.

  694. Michael says:

    Look here in PA.

A special election for State Rep is occurring.

A green, a Republican, and a Democrat are running.

    It is in York County.

The republican is openly Gay. If elected he would be the third openly gay state rep. In PA, and third for the GOP.

  695. MD (IP - Akin and Mourdock Will Win!) says:

    Last fuuuccckkinnnngggg cheerleading competition today.

  696. MD (IP - Akin and Mourdock Will Win!) says:

I need a bit more about your background so I can weave that in. I may make specific mention of your long running battles with Susy and Bunu. NYCMike doesn’t even merit a mention.

  697. jason says:

Besides designing barns for the Amish?

I work with developing business plans for international ventures. Sort of like a consultant although I only work for one company.

  698. jason says:

” A green, a Republican, and a Democrat are running.”

Dang, I thought this was going to end with “went into a bar”.

  699. MD (IP - Akin and Mourdock Will Win!) says:

    Bitter’s euglogy

He was a funny, charming and an annoying non-gunning owning diabetic from the liberal enclave of Rosemont. He enjoyed 4th grade softball, stalking, watching sports on TV, running for elections where he had no shot and girls with enormous breatuses. He achieved greatness by being inducted into the HHR Hall of Fame with the first class and became a Prime Minister of the comments section where he wielded authority like a homeroom mother. Oh, and he loved his kids. Now, let’s drink.

  700. MD (IP - Akin and Mourdock Will Win!) says:

    711 – sounds like a great job.

  701. jason says:

    Don’t forget LaBigot….

  702. jason says:

MD, you need to weave in Kate Upton in Bitter’s eulogy or he will never forgive you.

  703. MD (IP - Akin and Mourdock Will Win!) says:

I try to forget him all the time jason.

“Don’t want more Mormons running around”

    Ah, a classic.

  704. Stormfront says:

    We will write Bunu’s eulogy.

    Thanks.

  705. jason says:

That was the gist of it.

But the real statement was like “the danger would be that Mormonism would spread” as if he was describing a cancer.

  706. Michael says:

So far the campaign is going along well. I have been invited to give an interview in front of CNET

Our county TV station giving us local government information.

  707. Walt, HHR Senator, formerly known as Delegate says:

    MD,

Jason works for an importer/exporter company–Vandolay Industries.

His cubicle is next to George Castanza’s.
    *********************************
He actually is hard to find at work because he sneaks out to raise hell and barns. And post on HHR.

  708. Walt, HHR Senator, formerly known as Delegate says:

I had strange dreams last night (no nothing Xrated).

    Strife, drama, conflict.

I blame them on the play we saw last night.

  709. jason says:

“So far the campaign is going along well. I have been invited to give an interview in front of CNET”

Try to get on the peak hour, when they average 10 viewers!

  710. jason says:

    “Strife, drama, conflict.

I blame them on the play we saw last night.”

Nah, it was probably just an HHR thread.

  711. jason says:

    Bunu hardest hit:

VATICAN CITY (AP) — Like his predecessor, Pope Francis reached out to Rome’s Jewish community at the very start of his pontificate, pledging to continue to strengthen the increasingly close ties between Catholics and Jews.

  712. Bitterlaw says:

    Here is MD’s:

Although small in stature, MD was a giant among men. His heart was pure in his hatred of all regardless of color or creed.. MD loved his wife, his children, a few other wives, and a goat. Even as he was dying, he thought of them. He said,”tell my wife and daughters that I love them and to never rest until that mf-er Jul pays for shooting meeeeeee.” MD was

I’m sorry. I have something in my eye right now.

  713. Bitterlaw says:

725 i’m hoping to have icreasinly close ties with a Jew by 11:3o tonight.

  714. Bitterlaw says:

    Bunu’s eulogy:

Sometimes, bad things happen to good people. This is not one of those times. Does anybody else want to speak?

  715. jason says:

More bad news for Bunu. His excitement about Ted Cruz might be short lived.

    Allahpundit:

“Paleocons have also noticed that Cruz, despite often being lumped in with Paul on foreign policy, sounds plenty hawkish on Iran. Maverick’s likely concluded that because Cruz and Paul both speak frequently about the tea party and the Constitution and because Cruz was, after all, Paul’s wingman during the drone filibuster that they’re simpatico on foreign policy, but I suspect that’s untrue. In fact, Cruz and Paul seem to me to represent the two sides of the tea-party coin. From the beginning, Ron Paul fans have insisted that he’s the “godfather” of the movement; there are certainly tea partiers, especially the younger set, who are doctrinaire libertarians and whom Rand is trying to mobilize. But there’s another wing, which skews a bit older, that’s composed of more traditional conservatives — hawkish, concerned about “values” — who are disaffected with the GOP leadership’s squishiness and looking to rebrand themselves. The two wings overlap on spending, the core tea-party concern, and on stricter observance of constitutional limits on government, but they diverge on social issues and on foreign policy. Cruz was an ally of Paul’s during the drone debate because of that constitutional overlap, and of course because it was a chance to rebuke Obama. If a bill hit the floor tomorrow authorizing military action against Iran, though, I’m a lot less confident than Maverick that Cruz would end up on Paul’s side rather than on McCain’s and Rubio’s.”

  716. jason says:

I knew the MD eulogy was coming….

  717. I have a headache says:

” i’m hoping to have icreasinly close ties with a Jew by 11:3o tonight.”

    Beat it.

  718. Bitterlaw says:

Bunu only likes Cruz because he thinks he will take Hispanic support from Rubio. This will allow Rand Paul to …um….win no primaries or caucuses.

  719. Walt, HHR Senator, formerly known as Delegate says:

I think there should be a TV sitcom based upon the real characters of HHR.

    Or at least a play.

The Paul folks make a big show of force- dishing out the literature like door to door missionaries. It’s a lot of fun, and you get to see people before they get “big” often- i.e, “Hey this Paul Ryan and this Mike Pence fellow seem pretty good, and they take questions.”, but I wouldn’t use it as an exact sample of where the “movement” stands.

  763. SusyQue says:

    Pope Francis The ‘Final’ Pontiff?

Is Pope Francis The ‘Final’ Pontiff? An author who predicted Pope Benedict XVI would be the first pontiff in nearly 600 years to resign believes the election today of Jorge Mario Bergoglio as the 266th Roman Catholic pontiff lines up with a medieval prophecy that would make him the “final pope” before the End Times. Tom Horn, co-author with Cris Putman of the book “Petrus Romanus: The Final Pope is Here,” told WND today Bergoglio’s selection was a “fantastic fulfillment of prophecy.” Horn has said a pope of Italian descent would fulfill the prophecy, noting Bergoglio is the son of Italian parents and a Jesuit. “Being a Jesuit is a very important aspect of our prediction in our book,” Horn told WND in an email. Citing his book, Horn said the name “Petrus Romanus” in the prophecy “implies this pope will reaffirm the authority of the Roman Pontiff over the Church and will emphasize the supremacy of the Roman Catholic Faith and the Roman Catholic Church above all other religions and denominations, and its authority over all Christians and all peoples of the world.” Horn pointed out the Jesuits order was organized “to stop Protestantism from spreading and to preserve communion with Rome and the successor of Peter.”

RNN NOTE: That Bergoglio–the final Pope on St. Malachy’s list and the one prophesied to reign over the church as it enters the Great Tribulation period–named himself after Saint Francis of Assisi is intriguing given that shortly before his death Assisi prophesied that at the time of the tribulation a man would “be raised to the Pontificate, who, by his cunning, will endeavor to draw many into error and death. Some preachers will keep silence about the truth, and others will trample it under foot and deny it. For in those days Jesus Christ will send them not a true Pastor, but a destroyer” [Works of the Seraphic Father St. Francis of Assisi (1182-1226), Washbourne, 1882 AD, 248].

Furthermore, in naming himself after Assisi, Bergoglio branded himself after an Italian (Roman) friar whose original name was
Francesco di Pietro (Peter) di Bernardone — literally, Peter the Roman.

History 2 is replaying The Men Who Built America. Vanderbilt, Rockefeller, Carnegie, J.P. Mprgan and Ford were truly brilliant. Then she was staying with girl friend in her apt. playing cards. Other people also there. She “falls asleep.” Wakes up all the rest of her cash left over from the Jeep sale is gone. Did she put cash in bank? NO. Does she even have a checking acct.? Probably not. ALL these people who suffer from self inflicted wounds carry big cash around on them, when they have any.

She calls son, he feels bad for her. She wants him to meet her at her old apt. and sell pictures, furniture, mirrors, etc. to him. He buys three tables (incl at least one antique table), bunch of mirrors and pictures, etc. for $40 from her. She is happy.

Son is happy for his purchases and for being able to help her out. My unemployed son has no apartment, so will have to take his purchases to his storage unit tomorrow–after he gets the blow and go installed on the jeep.

I tell you these people are clueless.

#801…Walt…you have probably noticed that popes are not mentioned in the Bible as well as religious denominations. The Greek Orthodox Church and the Catholic Church were one church for a thousand years…Initiating a pope is what caused the split.

You and I know the “Church” is all people that are truly born again. They live in God’s Kingdom forever. A very nice place to be when everything

  822. Walt, HHR Senator, formerly known as Delegate says:

For that reason, for many years people in Europe refused to eat potatoes since potatoes were not mentioned in the Bible.

I think those people were stupid. Potatoes is one of God’s great gifts to humans. They go very well with ham.

Of course Jewish do not do ham. I think not eating ham is stupid. Ham goes great ith potatoes.

German Commerzbank Suggests Wealth Tax In Italy Next

While some argue that Cyprus was “one of the biggest money-washing machines for Russian criminals,” and others that Cyprus ex-Pat community and energy resources brough deposits (not to say their high deposit interest rates), it seems the European Union (IMF et al.) have decided that the route to crisis stabilization, just as we outlined here over a year ago and updated here, is through a wealth tax.
However, as Handelsblatt reports, the gross distortions of wealth distribution among both core and peripheral nations (evident in the chasm between ‘mean’ and ‘median’ net assets – or wealth) makes some nations more ‘capable’ of ‘giving’ and as Commerzbank’s chief economist notes, median wealth in Italy is EUR164,000 (as opposed to Austria’s median of around EUR76,000 and mean of around EUR265,000) meaning that in theory Italy has no debt crisis (with net assets at 173% of GDP) – significantly more than the Germans at 124% – “so it would make sense, in Italy a one-time property tax levy,” he suggested.
“A tax rate of 15% on financial assets would probably be enough to push the Italian government debt to below the critical level of 100% of gross domestic product.” So there you have it, the ‘new deal’ in Europe, as we warned, is ‘wealth taxes’ and testing the “capacity of Cypriots” appears to be the strawman on what the public will take before social unrest becomes intolerable.

  834. Bitterlaw says:

Bunu finally admits that his side has no chance in American politics so he shifts to Italy.

  835. SusyQue says:

  836. Walt, HHR Senator, formerly known as Delegate says:

820.Good night old lady whispering “hush.”*

*i hated that book. You try making it interesting the 400the time you read it.

    Bitter,
When I would read that book to my kids, I would end it by breaking into the
Deep Purple–Hush lrics. Maybe thaat is why they are like they are today.
    ***********************************
    Nah, nah-nah-nah, nah-nah-nah, nah-nah-nah (x2)

I got a certain little girl she’s on my mind
No doubt about it she looks so fine
She’s the best girl that I ever had
Sometimes she’s gonna make me feel so bad

    Nah, nah-nah-nah, nah-nah-nah, nah-nah-nah (x2)

    Hush, hush
I thought I heard her calling my name now

    Hush, hush
She broke my heart but I love her just the same now

    Hush, hush
Thought I heard her calling my name now

    Hush, hush
I need her loving and I’m not to blame now

    Nah, nah-nah-nah, nah-nah-nah, nah-nah-nah (x2)

  837. Walt, HHR Senator, formerly known as Delegate says:

Then the kids and I would be dancing and jumping on the bed, kids all wound up and we had to start all over again to settle them downto to go sleep.

It was the best of times, it was the worst of times.

  838. Bitterlaw says:

Walt – Let the Wild Rumpus start!

  839. Tim says:

Hey, I love the Irish. Just for good karma, I wore my black Guinness shirt that was purchased in Ireland, on my podcast, tonight.

Beat that, for St. Patrick’s Day.

  840. Tim says:

Plus, to honor the holiday, I’ve had several beers.

  841. MD says:

I had a shamrock shake and haven’t stopped shi@ting since.

  842. Michael says:

7 BIG TEN teams are in!! I will root for all of them, I rooted for IU in the tournament last year.

    I will do so again.

  843. W. PA Observer says:

862- Odds are the ingredients in that thing and the green colored bowel cleansers are probably the same.

  844. W. PA Observer says:

Also- has anyone been reading what’s been going on in Cyprus? Europe could be having a very bad few days in a row coming up – if this thing triggers a multi-nation bank run in Southern Europe.

  845. Tulipomania says:

    test

  846. Tulipomania says:

    re-test

  847. Walt, HHR Senator, formerly known as Delegate says:

    Bubu,

You failed the test and the re-test.

You must now go to the remedial class.

  848. Walt, HHR Senator, formerly known as Delegate says:

    SusyQue,

You Irish blessing link was absolutely beautiful.

I don’t know what to do first–eat a potato, carve a shellaleigh, or skin a leprechan.
    ************************************
I hope Brandon did not click on it. You know, with his stomach condition and all.

  849. Tulipomania says:

I was making sure I couldn’t post pictures on here, which would be awesome.

  850. Walt, HHR Senator, formerly known as Delegate says:

“Someday when you look back on the memories,
    this is going to be,

    one of those nights…..”

  851. Tulipomania says:

    retest

  852. Walt, HHR Senator, formerly known as Delegate says:

BTW, I think what MD is doing on St. Patrick’s Day tops what Tim is doing. :)

  853. Walt, HHR Senator, formerly known as Delegate says:

    NO RETEST FOR YOU!!!

  854. Paulbot says:

My son loves Shamrock shakes. Maybe MD’s hhealthy diet made him weak.

  855. Tim says:

    #873:
You do? That officially qualifies you as a sick man.

In other words, my kinda guy………

  856. Tim says:

I bet that post also made Brandon want to hurl………

  857. Walt, HHR Senator, formerly known as Delegate says:

I bet those who have money in bank accounts in Cyprus are also having the same reaction as MD–and they did not drink any Shamrock Shakes.

Those folks in Cyprus are having something worse than the Harlem Shake.

They are having a whole different case of the ‘runs’.

    Whole island may tip over.

  858. Walt, HHR Senator, formerly known as Delegate says:

    Isn’t hurling an olympic sport?

  859. Tim says:

MD, you should probably call in, tomorrow. Just sayin’…….

  860. Bitterlaw says:

He could drink a gallon of Goose but not a minnty milk shake? Well, Super Man had kryptonite.

  861. Tim says:

No telling what was in that atomic mixture he drank.

  862. Tim says:

I still hope that an unnamed poster had a good Birthday………

  863. Walt, HHR Senator, formerly known as Delegate says:

    MD,

I hope it all works itself out in the end.

I’m with Tim as to calling in sick tomorrow. Tell ‘em you have a case of St. Patty’s revenge and you have to tie up some loose ends.

    Get some Imodium.

  864. SoHope says:

Nova can suck it…Dave and Bitter will be weeping when their team loses to my seriously under-seeded team…

    I mean 8 seed…what the heck!!!

  865. Walt, HHR Senator, formerly known as Delegate says:

Why Guinness Is ‘Good For You’

    GFY?

I thought HHR copyrighted the GFY…

  866. NCAA Selection Committee says:

    Mr. Hope:

After watching North Carolina get bitch-slapped at home by Duke, we seriously considered placing a team that would actually compete in the tournament. Unfortunately, the St. Theresa’s 8th grade team has a trip to D.C. planned during the firtst round so we kept the Tarheels.

  867. Phil says:

longest nothing thead in the history of Hedgehog.

  868. Bitterlaw says:

Sorry, Phil. I guess there just aren’t enough white people to keep Hedgehog true to its prior greatness.

  869. SoHope says:

Live by the three, die by the three…obviously that game against dook we died by the three.

Dook beat by a MD (that won’t go to the dance) during the regular season…lost to Miami by 27, lost to Virgina, NCST, spanked by Maryland by nine in the first round

  870. NCAA Selection Committee says:

Look, Villanova shouldn’t be as high as a 9 but it deserves a little payback against UNC after the worst “travel” call ever in the history of basketball a few years ago.

  871. SoHope says:

over half of our loses came from 1 or 2 seeds

    Indiana
    Miami
    dook
    Miami
    dook
    Miami

  872. SoHope says:

no no no…this was the worst travel call….12 steps

  873. Bitterlaw says:

Damn. SoHope is relying on the Michael Theory of non-calls? Weak.

  874. SoHope says:

No Bitter, that was a reply to 891…those weren’t from this season or even in a game against the Heels

  875. Walt, HHR Senator, formerly known as Delegate says:

Here is a video of JulDuel standing in front of MD’s house calling him out.

    http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8jgGK4NJ8Hk&NR=1&feature=fvwp

  876. SoHope says:

But you have to admit Blue Bloods often get more favorable calls

    dook, UNC, Kentucky…but especially dook

  877. Walt, HHR Senator, formerly known as Delegate says:

  878. Walt, HHR Senator, formerly known as Delegate says:

    C M ducks?

    S–I C M!!!

  879. Bitterlaw says:

SoHope – I told my son not to even look for travelling in March Madness unless the a 1-3 seed is about to lose to a lower seed. It’s just the way it is. As somebody who could not care less about Duke or UNC, I don’t think Duke gets any more favors from the refs than any other team.

  880. jason says:

Ok so did anyone else wonder why when Andrea left the Governor duking it out with 30 zombies in the factory and went back outside, why she didn’t either drive away in the Governor’s trucks or at least disable it?

  881. jason says:

” Isn’t hurling an olympic sport?”

    Not yet. But curling is….

Curling: one person heaves a heavy object on the ice and 5 others busily sweep imaginary items from its path until it stops.

  882. EML says:

    Dim Tim should be proud

What is happening in Cyprus is disgraceful. The principle that there is no division between your private property and communal property which may be appropriated by the government whenever it sees fit is an outrageous one in any system other than Communism. The idea that a government which has chronically misspent may order the banks to close and deduct a sum of its choosing from a person’s balance before allowing it to re-open is beyond parody.

In the name of saving the state, central banks throughout the West have been conducting inflationary policies which act as a tax on savings. At least that is subtle. Now, in order to mitigate the excesses of the rash, both private borrowers and the government, savers are being taxed directly.

The establishment of the principle that a government can, and at times of economic strain must, help itself to your savings, and that this is a legitimate tool of statecraft, ought to provoke riots. I am amazed at the tranquillity with which it has been accepted so far.

Ours is an incredibly placid age. Hypnotised by iPhones, the internet , the specious arguments of the Left, the moral cowardice of the Right, Europe has reached a state where the government can take what it likes from the bank accounts of its people and still they do nothing. If we have become so quisling that across Europe no man makes a sound over this injustice, then we deserve everything coming our way.

  883. Michael says:

    Good morning

  884. Tiffany says:

Howdy would you mind letting me know which web host you’re using? I’ve loaded your blog in 3 different web browsers and I must say this blog loads a lot faster then most.
Can you suggest a good hosting provider at a reasonable price?

    Cheers, I appreciate it!
