Strange Within 1% of Moore in AL

We have another new poll in the US Senate race in Alabama and it shows a much closer race, similar to the close race this same pollster Voter Surveys and Consulting, LLC showed a few weeks ago.

US SENATE – ALABAMA – GOP PRIMARY RUNOFF (VSC)
Roy Moore 41%
Luther Strange (inc) 40%

This poll was done September 9-10 among 604 likely primary voters. It should be noted this poll is paid for by a pro-Strange group.

  1. Sheeple, Jr. says:

Bitter– your post from the prior thread about the “evil history of the South”

Unless you have a double standard, you have to also HATE the “evil of the North. To wit: President’s from northern States did an almost- genocide on some Indian tribes and another President from a northern State,FDR(NY), placed Japanese- Americans in non-kill concentration camps.

To extrapolate, you probably HATE every Country and its denizens for some atrocity or another it/they have committed since the year 1AD.

How long is the Statute of Limitation on your HATE of other groups and regions?

By the way, I have lived most of my life in the North.

  2. Phil says:

Obviously, I don’t get a vote, but I’d have to vote for Strange if I were living there. Moore was on a radio talk show recently and, incredibly, didn’t even know what DACA was.

  3. Phil says:

Bitter no doubt prefers to live in the North. I doubt he actually hates the South. He’s just playing with you.

  4. Sheeple, Jr. says:

    Phil
I agree that Luther Strange would receive my vote in the Alabama GOP primary, for many reasons including his great name.
If Moore prevails in the primary, I would hold my breath and vote for him in the GE.

  5. Sheeple, Jr. says:

    Phil
You could be right about Bitter, but his bigoted statements against the South and Southerners are a recurring theme of his going back years. Did he want your State, Texas, to fall into the Gulf due to Hurricane Harvey? Did he see all those wonderful Southerners being hands-on and risking injury to themselves in helping all stripes of Texans during Harvey?
Until otherwise stated by him, I consider him a “regional bigot”.

  6. Bitterlaw says:

Sheeple – You give many fine examples of terrible things that happened in the North or due to Northerners. More than 2 centuries of evil committed in one region gets a higher score on my hate list.

Wes to point out the Northern slave traders and bankers in 3…2…1… They were evil, too.

    What are my “real reasons?”

  7. Bitterlaw says:

Don’t feel put upon. I can find a reason to hate any state. There are only 2 that I would live in.

  8. Phil says:

Yeah, I’d vote for Moore in the general as well just to keep the seat, but, man, what a loose cannon the guy is.

  9. Bitterlaw says:

I think it is great that people in Texas helped each other. The weather still sucks. I don’t think they are as friendly as they claim to be. The accent is awful. All can be true.

  10. Phil says:

It is hot for sure here. On the other hand no way I could take the winters in, say, ND. As for the accent it is all what you are used to I guess. My wife is an east Texas girl and she told me that when she first got married to her late husband they first moved to Seattle and the natives there couldn’t understand a thing she said. LOL

  11. Phil says:

So I see Trump is on twitter again. Something about tweeting that last night’s London bomber was someone that the authorities had a beed on in advance. Not sure why he needed to make that public if it is even true. May pushing back. Not that big a deal I guess, but why tweet something like that which makes an ally’s government look bad?

  12. Bitterlaw says:

I don’t know why it is important for people in the South to have my love and support.

  13. Cash Cow TM says:

    “Summer Snowstorm to Wallop West…

    Up to 8 Inches…”

So will some wake up to find they got 8 inches…
Some will be happy, some will not.

  14. Cash Cow TM says:

What would be the reaction of the Christian community leaders if on a daily basis some lunatic fringe group of “so called” Chirstians–while screaming “praise Jesus” shot, knifed, ran over with trucks, set off bombs and beat people with hammers?

  15. Tgca says:

I have lived all over the US, NE, SW, SE, and West, and traveled to most states, and I find that every place has its good and bad points. I have known more bigots in CA, NY, NJ, and PA then I have come across anyplace else so I think it’s funny that folks put down the south.

As a gay man, I’ve known more hate to come from AA, Latinos, and your working class whites than I’ve ever seen in the south. Now granted, I know those folks have all evolved now but I do recall the vile slurs and remarks projected at gays by these groups in the 80s and 90s, as well as physical violence on them too. I accept most of it came from pure ignorance, lack of education, and anger about their own situations so I don’t dwell on it anymore.

    1980s and 1990s
“Hey, being AA, Latin, or an uneducated union worker was once considered being low on the totem poles in society, but at least were not gay so let’s pick on them.”

    2000s
“Oh, we love the gays because it’s so chic to be gay now.”

  16. Jonesy says:

    14. Cow, is Moore any more crazy than Bernie Sanders on the left? Sanders is a committed socialist and anti religious bigot himself.

Not really defending Moore, but there are plenty of Dem Senators just as nutty

  17. Jonesy says:

Without the crop of Cotton from the South, America would have never been able to stay off the British after Independence. Also Tobacco. It was our GDP at the time.

Granted slaves were used to reap it, but many whites worked in those fields too

  18. Bitterlaw says:

Tgca – I never claimed that the South is filled with bigots or racists. That was not one of my 5 reasons why I do not like that region.

Are you annoyed that being gay is pretty boring now?

  19. Tgca says:

I hope it never happens but all it takes is a major 8.5 or 9 earthquake in San Francisco or LA and that’s states pretty much done. Watch how fast ppl flee.

Same in NY. Major dirty bomb or biological attack, and NYC is done. Pretty much NY is already dead accept for NYC and LI. watch how ppl flee.

I gather these folks will love the south as they relocate their which is already the current trend the last 2 decades.

  20. Tgca says:

Yes, being gay was so much more fun when we snuck around and misled everyone about where we went at nights. The seedy bars down by the isolated factories and railroad tracks. All the friendly folks I met at the park and rest stops in the wee hours of the morning. Those were the days. *sigh*

  21. Jonesy says:

TG, Wall Street and Corporate media keep NYC afloat.

I agree about the Earthquake, especially if it happened in LA. Port of Los Angeles is so vital

  22. Bitterlaw says:

Tg – Don’t worry. I’m not leaving no matter what happens. Being indifferent to death has advantages.

  23. Tgca says:

Very easy to move Wall Street away from NY. Many firms already left NYC.

LA and SF would come to a halt if ever a direct major earthquake and then watch how many of these cowards run away. That happened in 1990. I know of ppl that left because they got chased away by the Loma Prieta 7.5 (or maybe it was 7.3) earthquake. An 8.5 or 9 would cripple those cities for months or longer depending on the sheer devastation.

  24. Tgca says:

Death is not worst thing to happen but how the death happens is. I was not afraid of the Cat 5 direct hit in south FL because I realized death would be quick if a 10 to 15 foot wall of water was surging towards me or winds of 185 mph hit my house or a tornado hit me. I just sat there with my guns awaiting…and nothing happened to me so I guess the good Lord is not ready for my company yet.

  25. Jonesy says:

    23. Firms yes, but not the trading floor. I know Philly has many firms moving there.

1989 Quake was heightened by the A’s/Giants world Series. Also the double Decker bridge collapsing was awful

  26. Jonesy says:

    24. Well Said

  27. lisab says:

    bombing in london

    probably climate change deniars

  28. Tgca says:

Yes, the 1989 earthquake did not do much damage, and shockingly, little loss of life. However, a 9+ quake would bring most of the city down, depending the type and duration of the quake. My point is, that nowhere is really immune from some kind of catastrophe and the idea that LA, SF, NY, or Chicago would bounce back depends on the catastrophe. I’m still of the belief that somehow, someday, some nutcase will smuggle a nuclear or biological device into the US and use it, and that will forever change the approach to city life. NYC would probably not rebound totally from such an attack. My gut feel is they would lose half or more of its population. Scary stuff, but I’m convinced crazy folks will try this one day.

  29. Bitterlaw says:

One of my closest friends has breast cancer. She is divorced and her ex-husband is a jerk. I wish there was a way I could get cancer instead of her. My children have my wife if I don’t maker it. Her daughter will only have an alcoholic dad if her mom dies.

  30. lisab says:

“Oh, we love the gays because it’s so chic to be gay now.”
    ————————-

does that mean i can buy comfortable shoes?

  31. Bitterlaw says:

Boston would survive a major disaster. There is a Dunkin’ Donuts and a CVS Pharm on every block. Donuts, coffee and men’s galore.

  32. lisab says:

Same in NY. Major dirty bomb or biological attack, and NYC is done.
    ———————————

how would you be able to tell?

  33. Bitterlaw says:

    Meds. Damn autocorrect.

  34. Tgca says:

    Lisa

Believe it or not, NYC is much cleaner today then in the 80s and 90s, and cleaner than many cities too, depending where you go.

  35. Tgca says:

Damn bitter! I was about to relocate to Boston. Donkin Donuts and men are fine by me. Not into coffee or donuts but live their lil egg and cheese wraps.

  36. lisab says:

    Or does Finland have sprites?

  41. Cash Cow TM says:

Walt can’t do anything about London bombings or other insanity in the U.S. and world.

Mrs. Walt sent him on a search for a scarecrow stored somewhere in the garden shed.
(It was made of straw and I think I ate is this spring.)

While searching, Walt did an imprompto major cleaning of the garden shed. He found a number of things his wife thought were lost including a big metal cream can (with Mrs. Walt’s dad’s name on it) and an expensive pair of sciccors.

Walt is now a hero, but he says the world still sucks bigly.

He even told me to get off his lawn.

  42. jason says:

    Barletta must be a RINO…

“But even immigration hard-liners such as Rep. Lou Barletta, R-Pa., seemed open to hearing what the White House comes up with.

“We want to have compassion for these children. At the same time, the American people need to be brought into this too. What will they get?” Barletta asked.

He said he’s not disappointed in Trump. “He’s kept his promises on the campaign trail. I have no reason to believe he’s not going to,” Barletta said.

  43. Tgca says:

I’m a gay half Latino male, I should easily qualify for immigration status to Boston. If that doesn’t work, I’ll play the transgender card and receive preferential treatment. I’ve never been in drag but with my legs, I’ll make an awesome trannie.

  44. Tgca says:

  48. Bitterlaw says:

In Boston, they say “trawn-ee “

  49. Tgca says:

Tranny is not the correct term? I did not know. So if I google tranny pawn, I’ll get zero hits? Well, thanks for the insight LisaB. Helpful.

  50. Tgca says:

I guess David blocks certain words so I have to use pawn instead of p*rn.

  51. Bitterlaw says:

Tgca – Always remember that lisab knows more about gays than you do.

Yes, but at night after the night spots close, people throw up on them a lot.

  63. Sheeple, Jr. says:

And I thought this case was a no-brainer. Silly me!
I guess the latest fad among federal District Court Judges is to grant nationwide Temporary Restraining Orders.

Obviously, another Republican Judge has “grown” while on the Bench.

-I am pretty sure this man said “and BOOBS” for the shock value of that word compared to the Jemile woman calling Trump a “white supremacist”.

Of course, Brooke was “appalled” that he would say that in front of a woman.

What do the ladies of HHR think about this?

  66. Bitterlaw says:

She better not go to England. They don’t say boobs on tv as often as they say “t*ts.”

I think that breasts are truly the best thing about evolution.

  67. lisab says:

well, it is bad behavior. she is trying to do a job an he acts as a deplorable would.

  68. Bitterlaw says:

lisab – I agree. It was crude and uncalled for.

  69. NYCmike says:

But the purpose of the remark was to highlight ESPN’s, and CNN’s, hypocrisy on the importance of the 1st amendment, and how inconsistent they are in defending it.

  70. lisab says:

that could have been accomplished by saying for example, “obama was the worst president in history”

which cnn would not have liked.

and it would not have been rude to the host

  71. Bitterlaw says:

Reference to breasts had nothing to do with making a point. The guest, who I have never heard of, wanted to be famous for being a jerk. He got his wish.

  72. Bitterlaw says:

    Here is a quick reminder.

You have the right to call Trump a white supremacist.

Your private employer can fire or suspend.

You can say you love boobs on CNN.

The CNN host can end the interview.

  73. lisab says:

you should not say something you would not want said to your daughter or mother while they are working

    Any suggestions would be appreciated.

-It had everything to do with making the point.

New Repeal Bill is dead in the water. No CBO score and they have until the end of September? The CBO score killed the other bills.

“I just don’t care about the coverage numbers, because their methodology has proven to be wrong,” he said of CBO. “And ours, frankly, empirically, is correct.”

    But: http://www.weeklystandard.com/republicans-appoint-keith-hall-to-head-cbo/article/872401

“On Friday, congressional Republicans appointed Keith Hall to become the next director of the Congressional Budget Office. The announcement ended a careful two-month process that involved figuring out how to fill the position with a competent and credible individual, but without giving Democrats ammunition to decry any appointee as a partisan hack.”

The head of a CBO is a Republican appointee they annointed in order to eventually help them repeal Obamacare. And now he is “empirically” wrong? Nothing but red meat for morons like Tina to keep voting Republican.

But hey, if you deny climate change with a passion; your educational level must be at a middle school level at most anyways.

So Pete Wilson what do you like the best in Obamacare?

The fact it doesn’t work, the fact it is in a death spiral, the fact it is much more expensive than promised, or the fact it has degraded health care for 85% of Americans?

It’s ok to pick more than one option.

  129. TrumpIsPeteWilson says:

If we took a lobotomy of most posters on this board, we’d have enough brain matter to fill a thimble.

  131. TrumpIsPeteWilson says:

  135. michael corleone says:

Sure bitter. Agree to disagree. I’ll also note my belief that SSM was a contributing factor to Trump for good or for ill. SSM depends entirely on being pc (and that’s whyPC won’t go away) and Trump was the most anti pc candidate ever.

  136. Bitterlaw says:

Trump was the most anti pc candidate ever.

Well, not on the gay marriage issue. Trump was never crusading against gay marriage.

  137. Bitterlaw says:

Not the point. Gay marriage depends on PC.

  152. SanDiegoCitizen says:

Now that Trump has reorganized his White House staff, and reined in his twitter; the best thing that could happen is to have Hillary out on the stump attacking him. The fact Anthony Weiner is again in the news makes it even better for him.

Weiner was explicitly texting a 15-year old girl; why isn’t the pedophile in jail? And how did his laptop end up having a massive amount of confidential government E-mails on it?

The Democratic party needs to own up on this, repudiate Hillary.

  153. Wes says:

SDC, the Clintons have cultivated a significant degree of power over the Dem donor base over the past quarter century. Dems can’t repudiate her without potentially losing access to a ton of critical money.

    – You’re the hypocrite. You’re the one who tough talked Trump all throughout 2015 and 2016 only to turn around and defend him simply because he won. I know, I know. You don’t like his trade stance. BFD.

I’m reveling in the fact so many fell for Trump’s BS. They actually believed “Mr. But He Fights” was a real conservative when it was clear he was a fraud who was a lifelong Democrat and would sell them out at the first convenient moment.

But by all means, keep focusing on Jeb Bush. He’s the real problem.

Tough talking Marco went from accusing Trump of wetting his pants on the debate stage and mocking his hand size to saying it would be an honor for him to speak in favor of Trump at the convention in 2016.

At least my guy stuck to his convictions and, like you, didn’t vote for Trump.

  166. Wes says:

Actually Trump is not a lifelong Democrat:

He first registered as a Republican in 1987.

He next registered as a member of the Independence Party in 1999.

In 2001, Trump became a Democrat.

In 2009, Trump returned to the GOP.

In 2011, the future President became a political Independent.

Finally before his successful run for President, Donald John Trump reregistered as a Republican.

Trump’s longest affiliation was with the GOP at 12 years, half again longer than his eight-year stint as a Dem.

Thus, no, Trump is not znd never has been a lifelong Democrat.

  172. SanDiegoCitizen says:

    172. “Trump administration won’t pull out of Paris accord, offers to re-engage in climate deal, EU official says”

This is incorrect. Trump said in June we would “So we’re getting out, but we will start to negotiate and we will see if we can make a deal that’s fair.”

Below is a quote from USA Today that clarifies what is happening:

“The White House on Saturday said it has not changed its position on the Paris climate accord, and will withdraw from the agreement that President Trump has called unfair to the United States, unless it can be re-negotiated.

The statement came in response to published reports by the Wall Street Journal and AFP that a top European climate officials reported the U.S. would “not re-negotiate the Paris Accord, but they try to review the terms on which they could be engaged under this agreement,” said the European Union’s top climate official Miguel Arias Canete, the AFP reported said.

“There has been no change in the United States’ position on the Paris agreement,” the White House said in a statement. “As the president has made abundantly clear, the United States is withdrawing unless we can re-enter on terms that are more favorable to our country.”

  173. SanDiegoCitizen says:

Robbie is so into his venomous anti-Trump rhetoric, that he is incapable of checking the validity of many of the anti-Trump stories he claims are true.

Sadly, it makes him sound like a broken record in his constant anti-Trump rants. I say sadly, because on other issues he can be quite reasonable. Its why many of us question if he is trolling.

    187. Ivanka picked the right husband to further her father’s political career. Here is a description of his campaign activity:

“Jared Kushner, the now-president’s son-in-law, who eagerly took credit for crafting the Trump campaign’s online efforts in a rare interview right after the 2016 election. “I called somebody who works for one of the technology companies that I work with, and I had them give me a tutorial on how to use Facebook micro-targeting,” Kushner told Steven Bertoni of Forbes. “We brought in Cambridge Analytica. I called some of my friends from Silicon Valley who were some of the best digital marketers in the world. And I asked them how to scale this stuff . . . We basically had to build a $400 million operation with 1,500 people operating in 50 states, in five months to then be taken apart. We started really from scratch.”

Of course the Democrats think he did this in collusion with the Russians. Afterall they used Facebook too; as do about 1,000,000,000 other people on the planet.

If states want to try single payer, let them. Federalism, baby. Federalism!

However, when it fails, screw them. No bailouts.

  241. jason says:

    Go Eagles. Go Broncos.

I am not saying “go” to all the other teams by not saying “go” to them.

  242. jason says:

“Jason, the link I posted explicitly says Trump was not a registred voter till 1987.

In any event, I posted that not to defend his associations but to point out he’s not the “lifelong Democrat” Robbie clsims.”

Ok, but my point has always been is that public statements and associations and political contributions speak louder than party registration.

  243. Bitterlaw says:

Breaking News – Jason endorses 30 NFL teams by not condemning them.

  244. Tina says:

ommentary on the DACA controversy frequently notes that the nation’s nearly 700,000 so-called Dreamers are a law-abiding group. But a new bill to give DACA recipients full legal status, sponsored by Republican Sens. Lindsey Graham and Jeff Flake and Democratic Sens. Richard Durbin and Chuck Schumer, would allow newly legalized Dreamers to have many run-ins with the law — arrests, charges, convictions — and still receive benefits. Schumer, the Democratic leader, is demanding quick passage.

Former President Barack Obama’s original 2012 executive action creating Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals stipulated that to be eligible, recipients must have “not been convicted of a felony offense, a significant misdemeanor offense, multiple misdemeanor offense, or otherwise pose a threat to national security or public safety.” When Obama announced the criteria for renewing DACA status in 2014, the standard was “have not been convicted of a felony, a significant misdemeanor or three or more misdemeanors, and do not otherwise pose a threat to national security or public safety.”

Real conservatives go further left on daca than the obumbler.

  245. Tina says:

“I am confident that, if put on the floor, it will garner overwhelming support from both sides of the aisle,” Schumer continued. “But let us say this…if a clean Dream Act does not come to the floor in in September, we’re prepared to attach it to other items this fall until it passes.”

    Schumah runs the senate.

Tillerson says open to staying in Paris Accord: POTUS said he’s open to finding right conditions to stay

  247. Bitterlaw says:

The interesting thing about President Trump is that he always says different things at different times so that people who love him and people who hate him can both be right depending on his latest statement.

  248. Tina says:

Untrue about tru,p,and paris accord. Read what he stated for gettimg out, he will renegotiate it is in our best interest.

Moot since the euros say it is not subject to renegotiation.

  249. Tina says:

    Tom Cotton ? @TomCottonAR
DREAM Act is much bigger amnesty than DACA, plus very soft on criminal aliens. Can’t pass! http://www.washingtonexaminer.com/byron-york-crime-and-immigration-whats-in-the-dream-act/article/2633792

Stop daca, as proposed bynthe rinos.

  251. Tina says:

aly, France and Germany said on Thursday they regretted U.S. President Donald Trump‘s decision to withdraw from the Paris climate accord and dismissed his suggestion that the global pact could be revised.

    From 6/1/17 globalnees.ca

  252. Tina says:

Mullah murkel has said it cannot be renegotiated.

  253. Tina says:

s the President indicated in his June 1 announcement and subsequently, he is open to re-engaging in the Paris Agreement if the U.S. can identify terms that are more favorable to the United States, its businesses, its workers, its people, and its taxpayers,” the State Department said.
The U.S. will continue to participate in international climate negotiations, including the upcoming UN meeting on climate change “to protect U.S. interests and ensure all future policy options remain open to the administration.”
The filing by the State Department kicks off a withdrawal process that will take years to unfold and is largely symbolic. Under terms of the deal, the earliest the U.S. can formally remove itself from the accord is in November 2020 — just after the next presidential election.

Next the fake loons will saynthat we are not out now.

  254. Bitterlaw says:

Relax. If Trump does not agree with you now, he eventually will. Until he disagrees again. Just wait your turn.

  255. Tina says:

    So, re paris dump treaty

Not subject to renegotiation per the euro weenies, such as mullah merkel.

Stat, emet open to renegotiating it was made in day of announcing a withdrawal.

An actuak withdrawal does not happen until 2020.

  256. Tina says:

I want to see the schumah trump deal on daca.

Loon never posted it and nobody is able to link to a deal.

  257. Tina says:

A recent study by the Heritage Foundation projected that the Paris agreement and resulting policies would have increased electricity costs for a family of four between 13 and 20 percent annually. The study also projected American families would see over $20,000 of lost income by year 2035. Such regressive policy hits the nation’s most vulnerable hardest, who ironically are the same people Obama used to justify the deal.

The Paris debacle was also slated to reduce U.S. GDP by over $2.5 trillion, and result in an average shortfall of nearly 400,000 jobs by 2035. Of the 400,000 jobs lost, an estimated 200,000 would have been in the manufacturing sector. Meaning Americans would also have seen the costs of consumer goods such as electronics, paper products, and apparel increase, inevitably taking more out of household income.

Claims made by loon that no economic damage to the us is proven false.

  258. Tina says:

Paris treaty was just a piece of paper.
