Gillespie Takes Lead in VA, Moore/Jones tied in AL

So after making a comment earlier today about how Ed Gillespie has not held a lead in a single poll since June, Monmouth University has come out with a new poll showing Ed Gillespie up by a single percentage point.

GOVERNOR – VIRGINIA (Monmouth)
Ed Gillespie (R) 48%
Ralph Northam (D) 47%
Cliff Hyra (L) 3%

This poll was done October 12-16 among 408 likely voters. On the flip side, things are not looking so good for Republicans in Alabama if this new poll from Fox News is to be believed.

US SENATE – ALABAMA (Fox News)
Doug Jones (D) 42%
Roy Moore (R) 42%

This poll was done October 14-16 among likely voters.

    -Senator McCain,

You ran for President, but did not want to speak badly of the-Senator Obama, so you lost.

And the country is worse for that.

Now, the country elected President Trump, who did all he could to win that office.

Then, he picked competent men and women to help him run the Executive Branch.

I ask you, with all due respect, please SHUT UP, go back to Arizona, resign/retire/just leave your office, and go take care of yourself. Please.

  3. Phil says:

    Goes ditto for me.

    Go away, John McCain.

  4. Trump says:

The only time his backstabbing grandstander gets any notice when he is backstabbing.

Otherwise he is another Thad Cochran.

  5. Bitterlaw says:

NYC – Arizona wants him n the Senate. Not your call to make.

  6. Tina says:

Grassley launches investigation into uranium one and the jebots candidate.

Keep senator burr and howdy doody giwdy away.

  7. NYCmike says:

Arizona wants him in the Senate, and they voted for Trump, as President, to conduct the nation’s foreign policy.

If McCain wants to have a say in foreign policy, he should have told Corker to stick it up Obama’s arse, and pushed to treat the Iran deal as a treaty, instead of allowing Corker to turn the Constitution on its head.

BUT, the media would NOT have listened to him back then, so he kept his trap shut, until he could be “Maverick” again.

  8. Tina says:

Mccain will have the dossier around his neck in a bit.

  9. NYCmike says:

Now, of course, McCain, along with Schumer who was supposedly against the Iran deal (yeah, right! And I have this lovely 131 year old bridge to sell you!), are hesitant to get rid of the Iran deal.

  10. Tina says:

That is why mccain is doing all the swamp shenanigans. It is coming his way.

  11. Trump says:

The brain dead dolt parlayed pow status and his family’s name into a nice sinecure for himself.

Other pow’s were not so lucky.

  12. Bitterlaw says:

Arizona wanted a Maverick so they sent him back to the Senate. Their choice. Not ours.

  13. NYCmike says:

McCain, along with Alexander from TN, need to be replaced by more conservative individuals.

  14. NYCmike says:

    You said that already, Bitterlaw.

They sent Trump to the White House, where they conduct our foreign policy.

McCain, being in the Senate, has certain checks on Presidential power.

Getting on tv shows is NOT supposed to be the main one.

  15. Trump says:

McCain’s native competence is his standing in his graduating class. Last.

  16. Bitterlaw says:

Scum like Poster Trump never wore a uniform and thinks that paying taxes is an equivalent service to the country as being a POW can F off.

  17. NYCmike says:

And they sent him back to the Senate because, as usual, he spent the last 2 years voting more conservatively than usual, because he knew Obama would veto everything.

  18. NYCmike says:

    Bitterlaw,

    Rangel, Kennedy, Carter, etc.

How many Democrats wore the uniform, yet you criticize them for their political actions?

  19. Trump says:

Nobody should expect anything better from obama’s running mate.

  20. Trump says:

John Kerry is a war hero.

  21. Bitterlaw says:

Arizona and TN voters do not agree with you, NYC. Talk to them.

  22. Trump says:

Kerry has earned the right to do anything he wants, and no criticism allowed.

  23. Bitterlaw says:

John Kerry served. Nobody claimed he was a war hero. Not even Kerry.

  24. Trump says:

You are a partisan tool, idiot.

  25. Trump says:

Kerry is a war hero, he did not crash his boat.

  26. Tina says:

Hope gillepsie pulls it out. Hope polls in va are understating his strength.

  27. Trump says:

    Unlike the songbird.

  28. Bitterlaw says:

I will have to repeat this as long as HHR exists. You can criticize anybody for their politics. ANYBODY. Scum like a Poster Trump criticize McCain’s service. I will call him out every time.

NYC can’t criticize McCain. However, it is absurd when he presumes to call upon McCain or any non-New York politician to do anything. He is irrelevant beyondhis own Congressional District or the state of New York.

  29. Trump says:

That’s why you are a bottom feeding scum, moron.

  30. janz says:

McCain is living off his POW legacy. I give him credit for that. However, he has been erratic in his opinions, actions and votes ever since. I think some of his recent comments, speeches, reversal of campaign promises, meeting with Syrian rebels etc are suspect and reasonable to question.

  31. Bitterlaw says:

Scumbag Trump criticizes McCain for being shot down. I guess it is easy to be critical of others when your only sacrifice is signing a check.

  32. Tina says:

    War hero

Sheotty senator, a drat in drag.

  33. Trump says:

    It is a free country.

McCain is a backstabbing scum living off his daddy’s name. Has always done so.

  34. Bitterlaw says:

Keep thinking you serve the country with your checkbook, Trump Guru.

  35. Trump says:

The country recognized the scum when it rejected the songbird for a Marxist.

  36. Trump says:

    I will,, scumbag.

I don’t live by your demented standards.

  37. Bitterlaw says:

McCain chose to not be released early.

Poster Trump pays his taxes on time and thinks it is the same level of sacrifice.

  38. janz says:

John Lewis is another icon of the civil rights era. However, what has he done since then to advance the lifestyle and upper mobility of AAs? The respect for him is mostly based on youthful courage.

  39. Bitterlaw says:

Songbird? I’m sure you would have broken sooner. Checkbook tough guy.

  40. Trump says:

    You don’t like checkbook, douchebag?

  41. Trump says:

The great service Obama provided is defeating the loon in 2008.

  42. Bitterlaw says:

I don’t like people pretending that paying taxes is the same as military service.

  43. Trump says:

Imagine this demented dolt as president. The moron couldn’t even run a losing campaign, had to suspend in the middle.

  44. Trump says:

Nobody cares who I like. Suck on your nuts.

  45. janz says:

Bitter, that was a high point in McCain’s personal history. Life goes on, and respect is based on the accumulation of one’s deeds and accomplishments, rather than just one honorable saga.

  46. Bitterlaw says:

Trump preferred Obama? Not a shock since he wanted Hillary to win and have Donald Trump destroy the GOP.

  47. Trump says:

Who he hell would want the demented fool?

  48. Trump says:

I had to hold my nose and vote for the idiot, only because I always vote republican. A habit from Reagan days.

  49. JC says:

McCain is a vengeful old sack who is choosing to spend his very limited last days jealously sniping at Trump and betraying his own oaths to his constituents – who vote overwhelmingly for Trump and his agenda.

“But, but… he was a prisoner of war!”

Yeah, I don’t give a sh*t. He’s still a vengeful old sack who sold out millions of the people who voted for him.

Above all else, he is a liar. I feel so bad that AZ has to be represented by two imbeciles. At least they’ll be able to rectify that very shortly.

  50. Trump says:

McCain is a vengeful jealous fool.

He is massively triggered that the country rejected his sorry as$ and gave the presidency to Trump.

  51. Bitterlaw says:

Janz – To me, nothing is greater than military service. My pancreas denied it to me.

I judge people by their actions and do not believe in redemption. If McCain had been a draft dodger who went to Canada but then came back to serve in the Senate and voted for the not really repeal or replace Obamacare bill, I would still think he was a bad person. Conversely, since he started st the highest possible place for me, he is an honorable person even if I disagree with a vote.

  52. Tina says:

    http://amp.dailycaller.com/2017/10/17/wh-places-cnn-msnbc-in-the-back-row-of-presser/

    People are triggered.

They are lucky they ecen got a seat in the first place.

  53. Bitterlaw says:

We know Trump Guru did not serve. JC probably did not, either.

I don’t feel sorry for Arizona. They got the Senators they wanted.

  54. janz says:

IMO McCain is embittered that he lost the presidential race in 2008. It was hard for him to accept in 2016 that a primitive man like Trump could have garnered what he so wanted. He’s been sour grapes ever since, pinning it exclusively on the POW insensitive remark Trump made during his POTUS campaign. I don’t buy it.

  55. Trump says:

95 percent the country did not serve in the military, scumbag.

There is life beyond military service.

Not that a stupid idiot like you will grasp.

  56. janz says:

Bitter, I hold people for their complete track record of deeds and actions. My husband was in the Navy, did some courageous things, but his conduct as a husband and provider have been stellar and that is what I admire and love him for – not his heroic antics during his military service. I view McCain by the same metrics.

  57. janz says:

Bitter, viewing life via your pancreas may not be an entirely valid barometer.

  58. Bitterlaw says:

I tried to serve. Trump Guru did not. At least he can lie to himself and pretend that he made sacrifices for the country.

  59. Trump says:

I don’t have to lie, douchebag.

I am not a demented fool like you.

  60. Trump says:

You are a low-intelligence pitiful douche who is nothing more than a mishmash of neurotic jangle.

No wonder you are bitter at everything.

  61. Bitterlaw says:

Janz – Diabetes ruined my life. My plans were shattered. 35 years of living with a death sentence have determined my outlook. As I have said many times, if I had been given a choice at 14 of cancer (20% chance to live) and diabetes 100% chance of shattered dreams). I would have chosen cancer. I was not that lucky.

I don’t feel sorry for Arizona. They got the Senators they wanted.
    —————–

I served in the army actually, briefly.

BTW, how the hell do you not see the galaxy-wide hole in your argument?

McCain was elected by campaigning on certain policies – policies that he is now reversing on simply to spite Trump.

The man lied. He got elected on lies.

Here’s a nice video of McCain in a 2016 debate against Kirkpatrick promising to repeal obamacare. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-eWEsv4-Vac

AZ did not elect him to keep obamacare, fight against border security, vote against tax cuts, or maintain the iran deal. They elected him because they thought he would do the exact opposite of those things, because that’s how he campaigned.

He promised to repeal obamacare. He ran on it and got elected on it. Then he reversed course solely to spite Trump, who also got elected promising to repeal obamacare and is trying to keep that promise.

AZ did not elect McCain to act and vote the way he is doing. That is not what they wanted.

  63. Bitterlaw says:

Trump Guru equates paying taxes with military service. He ignores the part about having to pay taxes while military service is voluntary. He probably applauds himself every time he stops for a red light or puts postage on mail since he is complying with the law.

  64. Bitterlaw says:

McCain campaigned to repeal AND replace Obamacare, he did not lie because that bill did not do either one.

  65. Trump says:

I do applaud myself, generally. Life is good.

I am not bitter like you at everything.

As I have maintained, you are not good at English, logic, comprehension, math, and economics, among many things.

I do not even pause to think about the things that you cite. Your entire premise is based on your your fevered and and demented paranoia.

  66. Bitterlaw says:

Thank you for your service. You said it was brief but at least you got the chance to serve.

I trust McCain on foreign policy more than I trust Donald Trump. As Jason says, sue me.

  67. JC says:

Bitter, you’ve lost this debate and you know it.

    https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-eWEsv4-Vac

    McCain lied.

  68. Bitterlaw says:

Anybody who says, “You are not good at English” should really avoid criticizing the language proficiency of others.

  69. Trump says:

You are not good at anything, douche.

    Stick to the civil war.

  70. Bitterlaw says:

JC – The clip you posted has McCain saying we need to repeal AND replace Obamacare. Thank you for proving that he did not lie.

  71. Tina says:

  72. Bitterlaw says:

Keep equating filing your taxes with 7 years in Hanoi being tortured, you sad little man.

  73. janz says:

Bitter, diabetes is not a death sentence. It certainly limits options in life, and forces one to not take one’s health risks lightly. We were talking to a waiter about his diabetes last night. He doesn’t seem to have the same dismal outlook as you do. Mostly, he appeared glad to be alive, have his condition under control and was totally committed to his 3 kids.

  74. Trump says:

Keep up your pathetic little life, douchebag.

  75. JC says:

I used to trust people like McCain on foreign policy. Not any more.

Look what getting involed in the Middle East has done. The place is an fu**ing catastrophe. I fully supported Afghanistan because the Taliban was a direct threat to us. But Iraq? Syria? Libya? What benefit has there been to getting involved in these conflicts?

Nothing. All we did was arm our future enemies and created a power vacuum for extremists to thrive. Sure, some of those dictatirs were brutal. But you know what? 1) They created order in the region and kept islamic terrorist in check, and 2) it is not our problem.

What rule of government a nation chooses to enact is none of our business. As long as they don’t pose a threat to us, then live and let live.

  76. Trump says:

You will always be bitter at everything, because you are a stupid little douche with no view beyond your demented so called mind.

  77. Tina says:

Mccain was a disaster in 2008. When bush blew up the economy, mccain offered no solition in the wh. He had no answer.

    A freaking disaster of disasters.

  78. Trump says:

  79. Bitterlaw says:

Janz – The waiter is a fool. See how he feels when he has a dozen laser treatments on his eyes, his night vision is impaired, his peripheral vision is impaired, his feet are numb, and there are times he has to chug two sodas in one minute to do his job.

Good luck to him but he is doomed as much as I am.

  80. janz says:

#78. I concur that McCain’s reaction was an over-reaction – to suspend his campaign, rushing back to DC to “take charge.” Reminded me of Al Haig….

  81. janz says:

Bitter, sometimes it’s not the load you carry. It’s more how you carry it. The waiter works hard, sweeps up the business after the patrons go home, stays the course as he worries that his 3 children are growing up too fast.

  82. JC says:

Bitter, you should take some inspirational advice from Scott Adams… and Donald Trump.

    https://www.pscp.tv/ScottAdamsSays/1dRKZnaMXmmKB?t=0

  83. Trump says:

McCain’s reaction made clear that he was an empty suit. All hat, no cattle.

Beyond bombing the Middle East, he was clueless.

  84. NYCmike says:

Still waiting for McCain to submit his replacement bill…….maybe Bitterlaw will come across it on the way to work….

  85. Bitterlaw says:

Still waiting for 51 other Republican Senators to submit a repeal and replace bill. The last one did neither.

  86. NYCmike says:

I guess Republicans, like Bitterlaw, believe only government will have a solution…..like Medicare expansion………..but Trump, for sure, is NOT like Reagan…..Bitterlaw is.

And, I do believe Cruz, Paul, Lee…one of them have a replacement bill……it just goes light on government “fixes” and allows for the free market to work…..(which means McConnell will NOT bring it to the floor).

RADICAL IDEA! Especially for a Republican!

  87. Tgca says:

I survived! Though I’m a bit confused from all the meds and anasthesia. I keep forgetting where I am and the day of the week.

  88. Bitterlaw says:

I guess Republicans, like Bitterlaw, believe only government will have a solution

I defended NYC for years against the accusation that he was a moron. I will no longer waste my time. When did I ever say that government has the solution to health insurance? I did not. However, given the fact there is currently Obamacare, there needs to be a law or laws that repeal it and replace it with something. That “something” could be nothing such as a return to the pre-Obamacare status quo. I have never advocated Medicare expansion.

The irony is that NYC is pissed at McCain for not voting for a bill that even NYC knows did not even repeal Obamacare.

  89. Trump says:

“Trump’s small-dollar donors fuel surge in GOP fundraising”

“The RNC raised $10.4 million in September, according to a report it will file with the Federal Elections Commission by Friday’s deadline. It has raised $104.4 million this year and has $44.1 million in the bank.”

    Cruising to re-election.

  90. Bitterlaw says:

It’s good to see that Tg has returned and is still fabulous.

I will give him a few days to recover before we talk about ABORTION!

  91. Trump says:

“Trump collected a record-settling $239 million from donors who contributed $200 or less during his 2016 campaign. So far this year, almost 60 percent — more than $44 million of the $75 million the RNC raised in direct contributions — came from small donations, often after Trump sent pleas asking supporters to “drain the swamp” of business as usual. More than 98 percent of those who gave to the RNC were small-dollar donors.”

  92. Trump says:

Just to re-iterate for the slow-witted:

    Cruising to re-election.

Still waiting for 51 other Republican Senators to submit a repeal and replace bill. The last one did neither.
    ——————

    Um, what?

Dude, they voted on it. Remember? McCain killed it.

And yes, it was a replacement bill. The other 49 senators don’t need to submit a replacement since they supported the first one.

“Oh no, it wasn’t a true repeal”. Oh shut up. That’s BS and you know it. McCain is not interested in doing anything that would give Trump a legislative victory. Remember when his buddy Graham worked across the GOP spectrum to come up with the skinny repeal? Once it was done McCain immediately came out and said he won’t vote for it because it wasn’t “bipartisan”. It’s all BS. So just stop with the mental gymnastics.

BTW, why didn’t McCain let his concerns known? Why didn’t he say that the bill was unacceptable and try to work with the GOP to offer amendments that he could support? He had months to do it.

No, he stayed silent until the vote went to the floor. Then he voted no.

Stop trying to defend this liar. He is a senile old fool spending his last days on petty jealousy.

But I get it. The man can bang your wife and steal your money, because hey, he was a POW. Right?

  94. Trump says:

Meanwhile, at the other end of the spectrum:

“Gardner Blues Continue As NRSC Fundraising Stalls”

“The NRSC… raised a scant $4 million in July and August, less than the $4.8 million the organization collected in June, as the Senate GOP’s effort to repeal Obamacare ground to a halt.”

And the money they raise is spent on deadenders like Luthar Strange and Jeff Flake.

  95. Trump says:

Bitter hates his wife. She didn’t serve in the military.

  96. Bitterlaw says:

But I get it. The man can bang your wife and steal your money, because hey, he was a POW.

No. But he can vote the wrong way because he earned the right to be wrong because he served his country more than everybody who has ever posted here combined. GFY.

  97. JC says:

And as for the claim that “McCain is what AZ wanted”. That’s BS too.

If McCain was up for re-election in 2018 (and even taking away brain cancer), he would not the primary.

  98. Bitterlaw says:

Bitter hates his wife. She didn’t serve in the military.

Zzzzzzzz. I do not hate people who did not serve. I just respect those who served more than those who did not.

    C

  99. Bitterlaw says:

And the money they raise is spent on deadenders like Luthar Strange and Jeff Flake.

As the first person to use the term “deadender” here, I really wish that some people would remember the definition. Strange and Flake have voted for Trump’s plans. They are not deadenders.

  100. JC says:

    Bitterlaw says:

No. But he can vote the wrong way because he earned the right to be wrong because he served his country more than everybody who has ever posted here combined. GFY.
    ————–

And what? That somehow makes me not able to criticize him for lying and screwing his own supporters and state over petty vengeance?

I mean what’s your point here. I’m not claiming he doesn’t have the constitutional right to break every single one of his promises that he campaigned on. I’m saying he’s a scumbag for doing it.

How much money do you think he received from conservatives who believed he would actually legislate conservatively? I bet they aren’t too happy watching the vengeful old man implode.

  101. JC says:

BL says that McCain is not a hypocrite because the repeal and replace bill he killed wasn’t ‘a true repeal and replace’.

Uh huh. I’m sure that’s why McCain killed it.

I look forward to seeing Bitter defend McCain when he inevitably votes against Trump’s tax cuts. McCain will make up an excuse for betraying that promise too.

  102. Bitterlaw says:

I like revenge and spite. They are one of the few true emotions.

Criticize away. However, when you call a war hero a scumbag, I will tell you to F off every time.

When McCain votes against a Repeal AND Replace bill, I will criticize him for it. He did not do that since the bill did neither one.

  103. Bitterlaw says:

Sorry. Two emotions. Low blood sugar today.

  104. JC says:

    ———————

That’s some serious Mental Gymnastics BL. I award you a gold medal.

Here’s a question. If a man rapes someone’s wife or daughter, but he’a also a war hero, is he not a scumbag?

Believe it or not, being in the military, or even being captured, doesn’t mean you can’t be a scumbag.

There are scumbags in every profession. And as a senator, McCain is a scumbag.

Putting petty vengeance over the people you’re supposed to serve is pretty scumbag-ish behavior.

  105. Bitterlaw says:

Here’s a question. If a man rapes someone’s wife or daughter, but he’a also a war hero, is he not a scumbag?

You are equating rape with a vote? Pretty pathetic. In that case, the war hero would be a scumbag.

Here’s a question for you – Is Trump a scumbag for his comments and treatment of women? I say yes but you can answer as you see fit.

  106. Trump says:

“As the first person to use the term “deadender” here, I really wish that some people would remember the definition. Strange and Flake have voted for Trump’s plans. They are not deadenders.”

“Deadenders” has a simple meaning. Those at a “dead end”. Strange and Flake are two examples.

Stupid morons like you cannot grasp that.

  107. Bitterlaw says:

That is not how the term was used here, Guru. COD, Cruz, Angle, Akin and Buck are examples of Deadenders as defined at HHR.

  108. Trump says:

    English is a standard language.

Not something you make up on the fly.

Hey Bitter, you know who also once was a patriot who served his country – Benedict Arnold before he committed treason. Arnold actually commanded important early victories in the revolution. McCain is a snake. He has no integrity today. While he served honorably 40 years ago, he is a negative force for the country and we are worse off for his presence in the Senate. He is a prime reason we have Trump – the former standard bearer of the GOP in 2008 is the man now preserving Democratic legislation. No wonder we hate the establishment. And to make matters worse, the communism residing within the Democratic Party is more dangerous to the nation than the Commies in Vietnam whom he fought against. He is a fool who can’t see this — I feel for his illness and don’t want to see him have to suffer with this affliction; but as a public servant he is the lowest life form there is — a complete liar and traitor to his supporters.

  112. NYCmike says:

“Here’s a question for you – Is Trump a scumbag for his comments and treatment of women?”

-In the past, Trump has most definitely been a scumbag!

  113. Trump says:

What a difference actually doing something makes:

Thank god. Yet another ‘bipartisan’ (GOP capitulation) bill to give dems everything they want will go down in flames.

It’s funny that out of all the people in Washington, Trump is the only one who actually keeps his promises.

“I would have believed it, except I happened to report on that mine a couple years ago. I knew that the real scandal was not EPA director Scott Pruitt’s decision to “withdraw the restrictions,” it was what President Obama’s EPA did to the company’s mining proposal in the first place.

Zealots at the EPA had conspired with rich environmental activists to kill the mine before its environmental impact statement could even be submitted. This was unprecedented.

The House Committee on Oversight and Government Reform later concluded: “EPA employees had inappropriate contact with outside groups and failed to conduct an impartial, fact-based review.”

Memo to Dems – keep worrying about a stupid joke from Al Michaels. See the polling on the VA Gov race? Maybe focus on something important!

-MD actively seeking Democrat victories in races where Trump is NOT on the ballot.
