Moore Leads Jones By 11% in AL

Onto the next election and round of polling. Earlier this week, we received a new poll from Strategy Research for the US Senate race in Alabama where Roy Moore holds solid 11% lead over Democrat Doug Jones.

US SENATE – ALABAMA (Strategy Research)
Roy Moore (R) 51%
Doug Jones (D) 40%

This poll was done October 19-November 8 among 2200 likely voters. About the only thing that could stop Moore from winning at this point would be a scand…wait, what?

  1. Sheeple, Jr. says:

An article today stated that the Mittster is aggressively making plans to run for the Senate in Utah in 2018.
Here is his statement regarding the Roy Moore news:
@MittRomney Innocent until proven guilty is for criminal convictions, not elections. I believe Leigh Corfman. Her account is too serious to ignore. Moore is unfit for office and should step aside.

  2. DW says:

Moore will go up in the polls hereafter, not down. Probably not too many subscriptions to the Wash Post in Alabama

1767 – yesterday Robbie says Trump has nothing to do with Moore, especially because Trump endorsed Strange. Today, you’re a Trump Chump if you suggest the evidence against Moore could be specious.
    Consistent, or no?

  4. NYCmike says:

I noticed that change as well, all because Trump did NOT reflexively do what McCain, Romney, etc did….convict the man before even a rudimentary check was given in regards to the charges against Moore.

  5. NYCmike says:

    Robbie = #HookLineAndSinker

  7. DW says:

Mark Levin: “How did the WaPo know there were four women, who they were, and how to contact them?… A Washington Post reporter just happens to be in Alabama talking to Roy Moore supporters… And he happens to hear what no one has reported in 38 years, no political opponents – No one… That Roy Moore, 38 years ago, made advances to teenage girls. Four of them. Now, the four girls do not know each other, they have never met. Yet the person who the Post reporter happened to run into and speak to, the person who supposedly told the reporter the story about the four girls, happened to know all four girls and how to contact them?

Regardless what anything thinks of Levin, this is still a valid question.

  8. DW says:

And now we know that one of the four has connections to Dem politicians.

  9. NYCmike says:

“Regardless what anything thinks of Levin, this is still a valid question.”

    -Ok, taking bets here:

I have $100 on Robbie NOT accepting as valid anything said by Levin.

  10. NYCmike says:

DW gives Roy Moore the benefit of doubt….”TRUMP CHUMP”!

  11. Bitterlaw says:

    There are 3 questions here:

    1. Did Moore do what he was accused of doing? I don’t know.

    2. If he did it, was it illegal based upon the age of consent in Alabama at the time? I have seen different answers but do not know.

    3. If it was legal, was it still wrong and inappropriate to the extent that he should not be elected or serve in the Senate? I think it would be wrong and inappropriate. I could not vote for him.

  12. DW says:

12 – agree on all three points. I don’t know if he did it. Neither does Romney, Robbie, or anyone but the accuser and Roy Moore.
I agree that if he did it, and it was legal, I think it was wrong and inappropriate. I don’t live in Alabama, so I haven’t even considered whether or not I would vote for him over the democrat, though I certainly wouldn’t have voted for him in the primary.

  13. Tina says:

    I like hooklineandsinker tag

But for the jebots it shoukd be

For those maybe not paying attention, the first college basketball game of the season has started. #12 Cincy vs. Savannah St.

  15. jason says:

Levin is an ignorant blowhard who happens to be right on this.

    It happens.

  16. NYCmike says:

Wasn’t it great when jason was linking to Levin March of 2016??!!

  17. Jonesy says:

2016, Russia, and now Roy Moore.

Robbie is the New Alex Jones of the GopE.

    Corey is his deputy

  18. Wes says:

Levin is a Deadender scumbag sockpuppet of Hannity. I can’t disagree with him though.

  19. Jonesy says:

Check Fraud, $1000 payments, Bezos, 4 Accusers who work for Dems?

Drudge has yet to reveal this

  20. Jonesy says:

Wes, Levin was a huge never Trumper until the last minute. gave up on him in the Summer of 2016.

  21. Jonesy says:

The only thing Robbie said that made any sense, was more could come out in a week or so.

The fact that the alabama papers have not chimed in, tells me a lot

  22. lisab says:

    Moore dating legal aged 17 & 18 year-olds while a single 32 year-old is a Nothingburger

well … it is still icky

  23. lisab says:

Can you believe in 1979, minors law was only 12?

actually that was true in most states at one time.

sometimes people just got married young 100 years ago. more often it was because the girl got pregnant at 13 yo and the parents forced a marriage.

now they just have an abortion.

the laws have been changed mostly to prevent the polygamist cults from “marrying” several young girls

  24. Chicon says:

I think Robbie’s friends at WaPo threw this bomb too early. Gives time for recovery, including the poking of holes in the story.

  25. Wes says:

RRH has more already convicted–because a sanctimonious theocrat simply must be a hypocrite and child molester as well. 🙄

One argument they make is that Moore and the girl were at the courthouse on the same day.

Well, a few weeks ago, I had to go yo ghe local courthouse. While there, I had a conversation with a young, attractive ADA.

Clearly that means we had sex and she should lose her job for impropriety. 🙄

This whole thing is simply ridiculous.

  26. Wes says:

  27. Jonesy says:

Robbie are you posting over at RHH as Chris Rawlings, or is that MD?

  28. Wes says:

I believe Maxwell’s Demon is MD, Jonesy.

  29. Jonesy says:

Did not realize that Nick Saban was a big lefty.

Did not realize that Louis CK is one of DeBlasio’s best friends

  30. lisab says:

Innocent until proven guilty is for criminal convictions, not elections. I believe Leigh Corfman. Her account is too serious to ignore. Moore is unfit for office and should step aside.

this is the same reaon he bought the dossier and ruined his reputation fighting trump at the last minute. he just cannot fathom such allegations.

    mitt, newsflash … people lie.

  31. Jonesy says:

Chris Rawlings is predicting a Jones double digit win in Bama, and quotes all the MSM tweets.

Wes, that board is awful today. they need diapers

  32. Jonesy says:

Mitt is a disgrace, besides blowing 2012, his Summer 2016 speech makes him non grata outside of Utah

  33. Jonesy says:

    23. Tell that to Woody Allen

  34. Wes says:

I don’t think they need diapers, Jonesy. They seem to need co n doms to keep all the se men they’re e jaculating over the allegations against Moore from permanently staining their computer screens.

  35. lisab says:

if a 14 yo girl comes forward and gives an account of a sexual experience … which most 14 yo girls would not be able to do with accuracy (obviously some could, but not most)

    i would believe her

but 40 years later? i would like some evidence.

robbie kills puppies … and yet they let him post here.

  36. Jonesy says:

RRH wetters trying to compare to Akin now. Akin actually verbally destroyed himself in real time.

Moore stuff is 38 years old with no real evidence

  37. Jonesy says:

There was a very high profile case in the 80’s, I believe IL or Wisconsin

The accuser said he raped her before modern CSI and rape kits. He did multiple years in Prison, and then she recanted and said she was having sex with other guys, and did not want her to know she was a tramp.

He finally got out and given big $$$ but was broken

  38. Jonesy says:

    38. Her parents, sorry

  39. lisab says:

Mitt is a disgrace, besides blowing 2012, his Summer 2016 speech makes him non grata outside of Utah

mitt is actually a very decent person

he just could not fathom someone hiring prostitutes, never mind them peeing on a bed … i can see him just eing horrified and buying it hook line and sinker since mccain was the one who told him

  40. NYCmike says:

“mitt is actually a very decent person”

-I don’t doubt this….which is why I understand why he lost to Obama.

  41. Jonesy says:

Mitt had no problem making deals with Ted Kennedy , Lisa

  42. Jonesy says:

George Romney was no saint either

  43. Wes says:

Clearly Robbie likes to grope stewardesses. I heard from the sister of a woman whose best friend’s cousin once was assigned to a flight he piloted.

    It must be true.

It is, after all, an allegatoon.

  44. Wes says:

  45. lisab says:

mccain: trump hired two russian prostitutes!

mitt: cheese and crackers!!! what is the world coming to?

lisa: meh … maybe he was lonely.

mccain: he had them pee on a bed.

mitt: crikey!!!! we have to stop him!

lisa: isn’t trump a germophobe? oh well, it takes all types …. i don’t suppose you have any evidence john?

mccan: well, hillary gave me this dossier …

    lisa: uh huh …

  46. Bitterlaw says:

Jonesy – Trump had no problem funding Schumer but you keep saying it is irrelevant. Yet, you now attack Romney over Ted Kennedy?

    I love this place.

  47. NYCmike says:

Robbie is guilty of an ALLEGATOON!

    What a disgrace!

  48. lisab says:

Mitt had no problem making deals with Ted Kennedy , Lisa

yeah, he was the only person in massachusetts who thought ted kennedy was a good person

  49. Wes says:

To be fair, Lisa, I recently had a partisan Democrat tell me it was fine for Kennedy to commit DUI manslaughter against Mary Jo Kopechne and judgeshop to avoid required jail time because unlike Republicans, Democrats are not moral crusaders against such things.

  50. DW says:

50 – I am sure that gives Mary Jo’s family great comfort to know that.

  51. lisab says:

to commit DUI manslaughter against Mary Jo Kopechne

a recent hypothesis, proposed by herald reporter howie carr, is that he did not know she was in the car.

that is, she passed out in the back and he found out later

  52. lisab says:

i am surprised to hear robbie molests stewardesses

    i thought he was gay

  53. Wes says:

Isn’t it still DUI manslaughter if Kennedy was driving drunk and took her off the side of bridge even if he didn’t know she was there?

  54. MichiganGuy says:

    * Breaking News *

Cory Booker is in love with Donald Trump.
    – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – –

New Jersey has some strange politicians!

  55. Wes says:

    I agree, DW.

I can just see Mary Jo’s family now:

All’s forgiven, Ted. You weren’t a moral crusader, so we’re fine with your killing our daughter.

    Kennedy for Senate forever!

  56. Wes says:

People like that scumbag make me hope there is some kind of Hell after death for low-life reprobates like him.

  57. Phil says:

In Ted Kennedy’s speech to the state immediately after the event he said “In my efforts to rescue her I dove repeatedly”

Dove for someone he didn’t know had been in the car?

  58. DW says:

59 – not to mention Kennedy turned right instead of left. So instead of heading west toward the ferry, he turned east and headed directly toward the ocean. And then he fled from the scene so he could sober up before talking to police.

  59. DW says:

Go look at google maps. Dike road is to the right toward the ocean, Chappaquiddick road is to the left and goes to the ferry. It wasn’t complicated. Ted turned right…and somehow didn’t realize he made a ‘wrong turn’ until he found himself going off the bridge over the bay?

  60. DW says:

Futhermore, there was an eyewitness whose testimony suggests Kennedy absolutely knew she was in the car:

“Christopher “Huck” Look was a deputy sheriff who was working that night as a special police officer at the Edgartown regatta dance. At 12:30 a.m., Look left the dance, crossed over to Chappaquiddick in the yacht club’s launch boat, got into his parked car and drove toward his home, which was south of the Dike Bridge. He testified that between 12:30 and 12:45 a.m., he saw a dark car approaching the intersection of Dike Road. The car was driven by a man with a female passenger in the front seat.”

So Kennedy didn’t know she was sitting right next to him in the front seat?

At the inquest, Kennedy claimed that he called Kopechne’s name several times from the shore and tried to swim down to reach her seven or eight times. Knowing that the woman was still trapped inside the vehicle, Kennedy rested on the bank for around 15 minutes before he returned on foot to Lawrence Cottage

  61. DW says:

So Kennedy called the name of a woman he didn’t know was in the car?

  62. NYCmike says:

Where was Roy Moore on the night Mary Jo was killed?

  63. Waingro says:

    Uh oh.

    Opinion-Savvy/DDHQ #ALSen Poll: Roy Moore 46.4%, Doug Jones 46%…

  64. Wes says:

Wain, that’s noise immediately after the allegation. Let’s see if it has staying power in future polls before crying uncle.

  65. DW says:

    She didn’t drown, she suffocated:

From the diver who recovered Mary Jo’s body:

“It looked as if she were holding herself up to get a last breath of air. It was a consciously assumed position…. She didn’t drown. She died of suffocation in her own air void. It took her at least three or four hours to die. I could have had her out of that car twenty-five minutes after I got the call. But he [Ted Kennedy] didn’t call.”

—?diver John Farrar, Inquest into the Death of Mary Jo Kopechne, Commonwealth of Massachusetts, Edgartown District Court. New York: EVR Productions, 1970.

  66. Sheeple, Jr. says:

This is a R+29 poll in which 21% of Republicans in Alabama intend to vote for the Democrat.. Their last poll had it at Moore +6. This one is Moore +.4.

  67. DW says:

Kennedy paid Mary Jo’s parents $90,904. I guess that’s what they thought her life was worth.

  68. Sheeple, Jr. says:

    Per RRH:
The NRSC announced that they are dropping their joint fundraising agreement with Roy Moore.

  69. Wes says:

Of course if Tim from GA were here, he’d tell us Kennedy was perfectly innocent while Roy Moore and Laura Bush should be run out of town on the first available railrosd.

  70. NYCmike says:

“The NRSC announced that they are dropping their joint fundraising agreement with Roy Moore.”

    -They MUST have more information……correct?

  71. DW says:

According the official version of Ted Kennedy’s story — he barely knew Mary Jo, but he offered to give her a ride back to the ferry from the party.

This suggests Ted knows the route, which seemingly contradicts his later testimony that he got lost and made a wrong turn.

Furthermore, another tidbit that is curious….Mary Jo didn’t tell any of her friends she was leaving the party–and she left behind, at the party, her purse and her hotel key.

Also odd is the fact that Kennedy apparently had his driver right there who could have taken Mary Jo back — but according to Ted, he was still finishing his meal–at 11:15 pm.

Given Kennedy’s lifelong reputation for womanizing that its possible that after the meal the booze was flowing and all of them having gotten a little buzzed, Ted and Mary Jo slip out go down to the beach for a quick one, explaining why she never told her friends she was departing with Ted; explaining why she left behind her purse and hotel key–because she was coming back in 30 minutes; explaining why Ted’s driver wasn’t needed; explaining why the turn right was the intended turn, rather than the left turn to the ferry; explaining why Ted was driving a little fast, given the conditions; explaining why the examiners after her body was recovered found she only had slacks on from the waist down; and explaining Kennedy’s odd behavior after the crash.

If his official story was true, that he was sober, and driving her back to the ferry as a favor, then there was no reason at all to be ashamed to go ask for help having crashed off the bridge.

  72. lisab says:

Isn’t it still DUI manslaughter if Kennedy was driving drunk and took her off the side of bridge even if he didn’t know she was there?

    i don’t know

  73. lisab says:

Dove for someone he didn’t know had been in the car?

he knew she had died by then. the theory is he didn’t know she was there so he just walked away to sober up before reporting to the cops …

but then she was found dead, so he needed a story.
