Moore should go. A person who holds themselves as a fundamentalist Christian and you are dating women in their teens when you are in your thirties. Crime or no crime you are clearly a hypocrite and should for the good of the party and forwarding your agenda you should quit.

Having said this, I believe if a legal adult claims illegal sexual behavior where the victim knows the perpetrator there should be a reasonable statue of limitations. What is going on now is craziness. It is well know that many women knowing engage in sexual behavior to get opportunities in entertainment. Once they are famous now they complain.

Alabama poll has Jones up by 4. Three day field period. Landline only, voter list sampling. Detailed report.

Same poll had Moore +8 on 10/1.

They can’t be right. It’s Breibart.

Have you seen the DKos site poll? Jones is up 97-2….last week he was only up 92-6… huge shift.

  11. Tina says:

The alabama poll was not commissioned by breitbart.

The polling company is very reputable in alabama for its work.

As Breitbart News reporter Aaron Klein noted on Sunday, “Wells, 71, says that her daughter did not have a phone in her bedroom during the period that Moore is reported to have allegedly called Corfman – purportedly on Confman’s bedroom phone – to arrange at least one encounter.”

    Boom.

  13. Tina says:

mation Dourif failed to mention is that she is currently employed as a housekeeper for Michelle Obama at the D.C. mansion “she” and her “husband” Barack share. This information was uncovered by Gateway Pundit’s Charles C. Robbie, you do realize that no one in Alabama cares about what you say here?

I actually agree with Jonesy on this. I think we need to expand it to every state outside of a poster’s home state. Here is one example:

Jonesy/Tina/Phil/JC/NYC, you do realize that no one in Arizona cares about what you say here?

  25. Bitterlaw says:

Moore might as well stay in and fight. His supporters would (IN MY OPINION, TINA), stay home and let the seat go to a Democrat if Moore was pushed out.

If he wins, fine. If he loses, not fine but understandable. Unfortunately, there are only 2 people who know what happened and they are not going to agree so we are unable to judge the story.

Hey big rightwing hero, you could be the next Roy Moore.

  30. Bitterlaw says:

mnw – I agree that candidates should be honest with themselves. They should think, “What is the worst thing I ever did? What is something that is not bad that can be twisted to sound bad?”

I am a boring person. I did drink in college. However, I have never touched pot or any drugs for a very simple reason. If I had children, I wanted to be able to honestly say, “I never used[x drug]. I hope that you do not do it, either.”

  31. Redmen4ever says:

Regarding fundamentalist Christians and early marriage: They generally advocate early marriage. Besides, we’re talking about 39 years ago.

From the first Miss America pageant, in 1920, through 1935, all Miss Americas were teenagers. One was 15. Since 1938, all have been at least 18 except 2011 (17). Since 1995, all but two have been at least 20. The South, and fundamentalists in the South, would be slow to adjust to the changing social mores.

    The following is from Wikipedia:

In the United States, as late as the 1880s most States set the minimum age [of consent] at 10–12, (in Delaware, it was 7 in 1895).[10] Inspired by the “Maiden Tribute” articles, female reformers in the US initiated their own campaign,[11] which petitioned legislators to raise the legal minimum age to at least 16, with the ultimate goal to raise the age to 18. The campaign was successful, with almost all states raising the minimum age to 16–18 years by 1920.[5][12]

Fundamentalists believe age of consent laws as high as 18 result in promiscuous sex. They follow the Bible verse, it is better to marry than to burn (with desire). In recognition of problems with teenage girls giving consent no matter what the law says, fundamentalists like that males who court teenage girls ask permission of the parents, not for fornication of course, but for dating.

Today, we are trying to balance women’s liberation and delayed adulthood with the natural desire of many, especially the precocious, for sexual activity. With sexual harassment, date rape and such, it’s not like we have a completely acceptable answer.

Jason is absolutely correct in Post 8. Mnw expresses my personal feelings on the matter perfectly.

This is bigger than Roy Moore. The Left wants to keep every viable Republican from running. Destroying Moore now only means a tsunami of future similar allegations driving candidates from races.

Who really wants to have his reputation scourged simply for seeking political office.

As I noted earlier, New York has similar things going on with flagrant abuse of trivialities in local election law to remove people from the ballot?

It didn’t stop there after the first successful ballot challenge.

    – I believe Moore did this. He changed his story within 24 hours so there’s no reason to believe any part of his initial denial. The story was well reported. If good ole Roy really thought the story was a lie, where is the defamation suit he promised on Thursday afternoon? He’ll almost certainly never sue because he doesn’t want discovery done against him.

Honestly, I find it shocking you’re willing to risk what should be a safe Senate seat on a candidate who has no respect for the law and who is accused of pedophilia. This story will slime the entire party and every Republican will be forced to comment on this. If good ole Roy wants to clear his name, then he should drop out of the race and do it on his own time. He should not do it on the back of the party.

You want Barbara Comstock to give up her House seat and run for Senate. How do you think her campaign in Virginia will fair when the Democrat runs commercials suggesting she’s part of party that turned a blind eye to allegations of pedophilia just to win an election?

  45. Wes says:

    – Tough luck for good ole Roy. Maybe he shouldn’t have spent his thirties chasing high school tail. If he wants to clear his name, do so on his own time and not on the back of the Republican Party.

I guarantee none of you who think Moore should stay in the race because the allegations are unfair or because of suspicious timing would give a Democrat the same benefit of the doubt.

It’s nice everyone wants to see Moore fight back, but this is about politics. This is about saving what should be an unlosable Senate race. This is about protecting the image of the Republican Party; an image by the way which is already in the crapper thanks to Trump’s first ten months.

If you want the 2018 campaign to be about whether it was right to stick with a candidate facing these allegations just for the sake of fairness, then good luck with that.

Hey, Rick, what do you say about the allegations you molested a girl 40 years ago?

Scott heads for the exit doors.

In Missouri, Josh Hawley is leading Claie McCaskill.

Josh, do you affirm or deny you slept with a 13-year-old when you were 30?

    Hawley leaves the race.

In Arizona, Martha McSally is running to replace Jeff Flake.

Hey, Martha, is is true you once had sex with a 15-year-old boy in the back of a C-130?

    McSally promptly bows out.

There has to be a line somewhere. Roy Moore is an at best imperfect candidate to support, but he’s only a trial balloon.

If Dems destroy Moore now, good luck getting the NRSC to successfully recruit anyone above the O’Donnell level next year or any year.

You can talk about worst case scenarios all you want, but here the thing. This is not simply someone leveling a charge and seeing if it sticks. There are four people on the record and Moore has already seriously backtracked form his initial denial. On top of that, Moore has shown his love of the law is selective since he’s twice been thrown off the state supreme court.

  70. Chicon says:

57 – well, I’m surprised you’re for a standard that removes anyone from a race based on an allegation. The best you can say is that YOU believe he did it. Is what Robbie believes to be true the standard? We should kick off a nominated candidate because one guy says so?

The precedent you want to set here for removal is illogical and dangerous. A rational thinker would be able to at least acknowledge this is a possibility. Instead you’re advocating different rules based on who you’d like.

  71. Wes says:

Your example of “seriously backtracking” is more than a bit overstated, Robbie. Moore still vehemently denies the accusation. He’s never even hinted he might have molsted her.

For that matter, Moore first came to prominence with the 10 Commandments idiocy in 2001.

    That was a national story.

Where was his a ccuser then? It was 16 years closer to the supposed actual event and would have been relevant.

Had the ac cuser come forward then, Moore would have looked like an idiot keeping that display on the courthouse grounds. It would have undermined all his support and gotten him kicked off the court two years earlier.

    Why didn’t it happen then?

That’s part of the reason I am utterly skeptical of the story.

Did the woman have a dream in 2001 telling her Moore would be a Senate nominee in 2017 and causing her to keep this under wraps till that time?

    I highly doubt it.

  89. mnw says:

Well, I don’t want to (virtually) post my name & address here. But…

for 37 years I’ve been paid to decide, among other things, whether a witness is credible or not. I don’t find the WaPo witnesses credible at all, because of 1) most of all, the 30-35-yr delay in reporting this; 2) the partisan connections of at least one of the accusers; & 3) the emerging discrepancies in their stories.

It is also clear to me that A certain thread pig here hates Moore because of his political views, not because of this decades old baloney sandwich which the WaPo is serving up.

If Moore’s opponent Jones was being subjected to the same smear, I believe I’d feel the same way. There have been all KINDS of Republicans I thought were a disgrace based on private conduct– going all the way back to that Maryland congressman who hit on male interns back in the ’70s. I bet I could name a dozen more GOP elected officials I thought were a disgrace– Hastert was perhaps the worst of all.

But Moore doesn’t deserve this, based on the available information I’ve seen.

Mark Levin: “How did the WaPo know there were four women, who they were, and how to contact them?… A Washington Post reporter just happens to be in Alabama talking to Roy Moore supporters… And he happens to hear what no one has reported in 38 years, no political opponents – No one… That Roy Moore, 38 years ago, made advances to teenage girls. Four of them. Now, the four girls do not know each other, they have never met. Yet the person who the Post reporter happened to run into and speak to, the person who supposedly told the reporter the story about the four girls, happened to know all four girls and how to contact them?
    Seriously?”

  97. Tina says:

Gillian what’s her face just flat out lied on Fox. She says that Moore claimed to have asked the 14 year old’s mother for permission to date her. 167. Paul says:

This is from someone who knew the Corfman family. It aligns with everything said in the Wall Street Journal article including the fact that the Corfman family are very much Republican voters.

“I need to say something, not because I want to get political, but because I know the truth and I need to tell it.
The now-national story about Roy Moore and Leigh Corfman is true, and I have known it for over 20 years. Leigh’s mother and step-father have been friends of mine since 1992 and I know them to be the best of people. We don’t share the same political beliefs but we love and respect each other on a level deeper than politics and these wonderful friends tell the truth. They are caring and educated and accomplished people who would choose privacy over headlines any day.
Leigh’s mother told me and others “The Roy Moore Story” in the mid-1990s, because her daughter had finally unburdened herself after years of silence and that burden lay dark and deep on a mother’s shoulders and in that mother’s heart. I listened to the same details as those that are printed now, and while some of the story has faded with time, several facts are seared into my brain: 1) the attacker was attorney Roy Moore and the victim was then teenager Leigh Corfman; 2) Roy Moore got Leigh to his house under false pretenses; 3) Roy Moore made overt sexual advances to Leigh which involved Roy Moore coming out of the bathroom undressed and ready for action; 4) Leigh was terrified and had the good sense to say NO and Roy Moore accepted her NO.
During Roy Moore’s political ascent, I’ve almost called Leigh’s mother many times to suggest that they expose who Roy Moore is at his core, but I realize that this story is Leigh’s to tell… no one else’s. Why has she not exposed him before now? Perhaps because no one likes being called a liar – and she is being called that now. Perhaps because that secret was safer locked away from the pain that she must be reliving now and having to deal with all over again.
Whatever it is, it is NOT a political conspiracy. Leigh’s parents bleed Republican red as long as I have known them…and Leigh says she has voted Republican in the last three elections. While this story has the “He said, She said” element, surely the counterbalance on the scales in Leigh’s favor is US…the group of friends who knew the story before it was a headline. There was simply no reason for Leigh to make this story up when she was young and trying to figure out life. Roy Moore’s terrifying advances surely had to complicate the path that she admitted was filled with choices she would like to redo. She owned them, admirably, but I wonder if some of her young years might have been easier if she hadn’t been abused by Roy Moore when she was 14 years old, vulnerable and confused.
Perhaps it’s simply that it’s time to shout from the rooftops that this man, Roy Moore…who wants our nation’s trust and our belief that he is a good man… simply doesn’t deserve our trust. He lied yesterday when he said he had never met Leigh Corfman. Maybe he’s gotten too old to act on his abnormal urges now, but in his heart, he still knows that when he could, he scared and emotionally scarred young women and in that chamber of his heart, his blood still runs mean and cold.
I believe in redemption and forgiveness. I’ve asked for forgiveness many times in my life, but first, you have to acknowledge that you did something wrong. And yesterday Roy Moore stood staunch and unyielding that he did no wrong. Take a lie detector test, Mr. Moore. There’s nothing fake in this story. Roy Moore is lying. This story happened and it was shared mother-to-mother with no agenda other than to get it off her chest and share her agony. Women friends do that, thankfully. Leigh’s mother told me this story when Roy Moore was a nobody…now he’s just a lying somebody.
Just because Leigh Corfman didn’t come forward and tell this horrific story about a bad man until now, doesn’t mean that it never happened. It’s her story. Yes, it was a long time coming, but she told her own story on her own timeline. The swelling tides filled with the tears of victimized women’s deep dark secrets can no longer return to the sea. There are many of us standing with you, Leigh, saying “Good for You”, and “Me Too”.

Minor correction. The poll was not a three(3) day poll, but was in the field on 11/9 and 11/11.
With all sincerity, can you explain to us what the distinction is between a poll with a Party Identification and one that was used by the JMC folks that shows a generic vote of D+2 in a State with a PID of R+10+? If not you, Wes or anyone else will do.
Robbie, can you believe an Alabama poll that shows Jones and Moore tied among Males at 42%?

    – As I have written hundreds of times before, I do not get caught up in poll fisking. It’s a fool’s errand.

    – Extremely low credibility based on what? Because you find her not to be credible? Because the hacks at Breitbart have tried to smear her?

I certainly find her story more credible than Roy Moore’s story because Roy Moore’s story has already changed since his initial denial on Thursday.

Where was the great outrage against Weiner by the way; he was kept around through the Clinton campaign, and had tens of thousands of confidential government documents on his laptop, and he was texting minors.

    – The Alabama seat could well decide control of the Senate. If 2018 is a wave for Democrats, it’s likely Arizona and Nevada are goners. Throw in Alabama and 52-48 R becomes 51-49 D. That means Republicans would have to win two seats held by Democrats. That will be a much taller order with Trump’s approval in the 30’s.

  239. lisab says:

    ———————————————

i work both with regular teens and off and on seriously sexually molested teens. sexual activity is well documented — people have been sex for years … and sexual abuse is also well documented.

her story of the encounter is almost a textbook description of an early to mid-teen sexual encounter involving two sexually inexperienced teens. if a 14yo girl said to me, “that just happened between my bf and i”, i would believe it.

i can actually believe it was her first sexual experience, … just not with a 32 yo man.

it really does not match a story involving a 32 yo male molester — but certainly he could just be outside the norm

  240. Paul says:

234: She does have at least 6 people who have backed up her story? 3 childhood friends, her mom, her mom’s neighbor and her ex-boyfriend.

And yes, they all have reasons to help her out. But having that many people who have publicly said that they were told of the incident years ago, does lend credibility.

But, as for me, I’m fine with the GOP sticking with the sleazy guy.

Maybe he was a 32 year old virgin LOL

  248. SanDiegoCitizen says:

At this point, the Alabama governor should delay the election — so the controversy involving Moore can be resolved; and a major effort should be made to get Sessions to run for the seat (as a write in if necessary). I don’t think his present job satisfaction level is very high, and he might do it for the sake of Alabama.

Any write in would not win IMO as long as Moore was on the ballot. Alabama doesn’t want a liberal Democrat representing them for the next four years. That’s not even arguable. However, Doug Jones probably would slip in with the Republican vote split two ways.

Could see him and Trump meeting to discuss the issue, (as Robbie would say “creep to creep.”) At this point in time, Moore might be willing to honorably withdraw in favor of Sessions.

Again through, there needs to be some actual evidence; like Weiner, most pervs are repeaters — and do it many times. One allegation, particularly given the credibility issue, makes it very questionable.

  258. lisab says:

now … he is pretty openly someone who mixes religion and law, so i could never vote for him, but that should be the reaon he loses.

  262. Paul says:

The one part of Roy’s interview that stood out to me was when he was talking about giving the girl alcohol. He made a point of saying “I thought she was 19 or older”. It felt like a lawyerly thing to say to make sure he was on the right side of her legal drinking age.

  263. Proud Obamacon says:

” it would be expected that he would continue targeting her”

One can be a sexual abuser without being a typical predator/molester. I think a District Attorney using his power to get legal teenagers to date him counts. This is something he did regularly. Maybe once or twice he fudged on the legal part.

Clinton as President of the United States did the same with an intern who was obviously of legal age. But he used his power to get her and others to have sex with him.

Why? Because he didn’t call her back?
    —————————————-

no. her story of the encounter neither matches the story of a molester who is a serial molester, nor a 32 yo virgin story who is molesting for the first time.

molestation happens all the time. her story is odd.

  285. Tgca says:

This whole Moore story seems too convenient in access and timing. I read that none of the 4 accusers knew one another or had any connections. If that is the case, how in the world does the Wapo then find 4 unconnected women in a state of 5 million people at this very time who just happen to have such a claim, especially when this never was an issue or known knowledge in all Moore’s previous runs for office. That’s what I find stinks about this story. The timing a few weeks before the election and after the primary. Reminds me of the debunked Dan Rather report on Bush that ruined Rather’s career. I’m just not convinced this is a hit job without more evidence or info on the accusers. Sorry but I don’t buy into “believe the victim” BS because too often guys are accused with lies. Think Duke and Rolling Stone stories, and my own personal experience growing up with a few teenage girls who got caught lying about being sexually abused on guys that never happened. So I say let’s look into the background of these women and ensure they’re not BS before we judge in this very suspicious case.

  286. lisab says:

    tgca,

    the accusations are about abortion!

  287. NYCmike says:

WAPO NEVER makes stuff up…..Robbie said so.

    —————————————

or a dem operative could have sent the reporter the story …

i rather doubt a journalist hunted down 4 unrelated women who dated moore 40 years ago

more likely alabama dems did this

  290. Paul says:

    Tgca,
Good Roy has confirmed that he dated at least two of the girls. I don’t suppose it was too difficult to track down teenagers he was dating when he was doing it publicly back in the 80s.

  291. Paul says:

    Tgca,
I think they narrowed it down to the town of Gadsden as well. So it wasn’t the whole state.

  292. SanDiegoCitizen says:

The California Pro Temp Senate leader, Kevin de Leon, who is challenging Senator Feinstein as a “progresive” Democrat, is facing accusations of being involved in a sexual harassment scandal.

  293. SanDiegoCitizen says:

Meanwhile, at Breitbart, Bannon’s hatred of the President’s son-in-law Jared Kushner continues to manifest itself:

“Mr. Perfect Update: Jared, Dina Powell Draft Proposal for Middle East Peace!”

  294. SanDiegoCitizen says:

    295. “Good Roy has confirmed that he dated at least two of the girls. I don’t suppose it was too difficult to track down teenagers he was dating when he was doing it publicly back in the 80s.”

How do you do it? After 40 years few people are going to remember who their friends dated, or were casually seen with.

  295. Tina says:

    Rottie was unhinged.

  296. Tgca says:

But the point is how do you know they’re telling the truth as stated? The fact that Wapo finds them now is suspicious. Sounds like someone coordinated this at a specific time. I grew up with women in my neighborhood who routinely tried to reel guys in and then lie about it. I am not inclined to believe a woman anymore than I am inclined to believe a male when it comes to these types of accusations.

And to set the record straight, when I was between 15 and 16, I had three older (late 30s and one fat cow in her 40s), unattractive women hit on me for sex, to the point of groping me and offering me alcohol. I was grossed out at the time because these women were the furthest thing from what any young guy would want. This had nothing to do with being gay, as I was dating girls at the time and not a virgin either.

Speak about pedophilia. Folks don’t realize how often this happens but very few talk about it because guys are ridiculed if they complain about unwanted advances from females. Therefore, based on personal experiences and those of others I knew, I am not inclined to believe women unless there is some sort of evidence to support their claims. Women lie about this BS all the time and guys pay a serious price for such lies.

  297. Paul says:

298: “Good Roy” is Roy Moore. He probably remembers some of the girls he dated even after 40 years.

  298. lisab says:

I grew up with women in my neighborhood who routinely tried to reel guys in and then lie about it.
    —————————————-

they must have hit a brick wall with you! 🙂

actually teens, and well people in general, hit on everyone all the time.

i would say almost all of the troubled teens i deal with have been taken advantage of sexually. it is extremely common.

  299. Tina says:

I thought lisab had asked if rottie was smipped, or not.

  301. Tina says:

Well, it is usually of us, that drives him even more bat sheot crazy.

  302. Tina says:

I would not ask him that, not my biz. But noticed now bat sheot crazy it was tonite.

  303. Tgca says:

    LisaB

Well, I grew up in Newark and surrounding suburbs of NJ, a real hell hole for raising kids. Routinely girls got knocked up to trick guys into staying with them because they were emotionally unstable and from bad families. My mother was pregnant at 15 and had 4 kids by 22., as was one of her sisters who had 6 kids by 30 after starting at 16. She was a God-awful mother and though she settled down with one guy later on, I remember her locking me out of the room while she screwed one of her 2 beaus on more than one occasion. I was like 4 at the time and not yet in school so I guess I was in the way during the day. I could tell stories for hours about how badly women treat their kids and abuse them, including letting men abuse them just so they can keep a man. So again, pardon me when I don’t succumb to the BS “accusers must be believed.”

I know, a gay guy with mommy issues, imagine that. 🙂

  304. lisab says:

I would not ask him that, not my biz.

  305. lisab says:

    lol

unfortunately your story is very common. most people on hhr have no idea.

one of the students i deal with has divorced parents. his father lives with two drug dealers that have lost custody of their own children. but … they can live with my student … yay!

  306. Tgca says:

…and it was extremely common for older guys to get with teenage girls where I grew up. Not unusual to see a 10 year difference. I later reflected on this and realized it was probably that some guys could not get girls their own age, and the fact that women appeared much more mature at early age back then. My mom got pregnant at 15 by my dad who was 22. That seems gross today but rather common probably up to the late 70s.

  307. lisab says:

That seems gross today but rather common probably up to the late 70s.
    ———————————-

older guys hit on me all the time

but i was already in a relationship with magnum p.i.

  308. Tgca says:

I’ve known a few women to have had their kids taken away due to bad behavior and their living situation. Sh*t,if the authorities back then knew how my stepdad beat us as kids, that scum would be in jail, all while my selfish mother stood by because she needed a man in her life. Well guess what, she’s now alone, poor as hell on public assistance, as only one of her remaining kids associate with her and her man has been dead over 5 years after suffering a particularly nasty painful bout of cancer eating him from the inside out.

Clearly, I harbor no resentment and let this all go a long time ago. 🙂

  309. lisab says:

i am sorry that happened to you tgca

at least now you are FABULOUS!

  310. Cash Cow TM says:

Guys put their hands on my teets all the time…

  312. lisab says:

    that was udderly rediculous

  313. SanDiegoCitizen says:

    312. Congratulations for getting through all that Tgca. Wish you the very best.

  314. SanDiegoCitizen says:

    314. “Sometimes it is unwanted.:

An un-milked cow is hard to be around. Often when they are angry, they will direct their hoff at a sensitive spot. I really believe cow anger management classes should be required of all cows.

  315. SanDiegoCitizen says:

    318. Know of one cow on a dairy farm that was so temperamental and disagreeable that they named it “Hillary.”

  316. MichiganGuy says:

Just wondering for all those who are outraged that a then 32 year old Roy Moore dated high school girls. Were you also outraged when 39 year old Jerry Seinfeld dated 17 year old Shoshanna Lonstein who was still in high school at the time? I personally wouldn’t want a man in his 30’s dating my teenage daughter but, I don’t think it means he should be automatically disqualified from being a Senator. Especially, since he has been married for the last 33 years and no woman has come forth saying he has been unfaithful to his wife.

  317. Redmen4ever says:

Senator Klobuchar has also figured this out. The Senate can expel the man were actual evidence to be developed. NOBODY should be railroaded. DITTO the allegation is series. EVERY Republican candidate has to be prepared for the October Surprise (or, in this case, the November Surprise). HILLARY should include springing the Billie Bush thing on Trump prematurely on her list of excuses, attaching a new page if necessary.

    http://www.breitbart.com/video/2017/11/12/klobuchar-moore-wins-can-expelled-ethics-committee-investigation/

  318. Tina says:

If he prevails, that does seem to be the fairest.

Has any r senator called for menendez to step down? I mean goober et al testified on his behalf.

    Real cons.

  319. Bitterlaw says:

MG – Outraged? No. I did find it creepy. Do you have a daughter? I do and I promise you that I would strongly discourage such a relationship.

  320. MichiganGuy says:

BL, that is exactly what I said. I also said, it shouldn’t automatically disqualify someone from being a Senator. Can we agree on that?

  321. MichiganGuy says:

    Yes, I have a daughter.

  322. Bitterlaw says:

We do not agree. I do not believe that somebody who had sexual contact of any kind with a 14 year old while he was in his 30s should be a Senator.

However, I do not KNOW if he had sexual contact with a 14 year old while in his 30s. I do know that the mere allegation would keep me from allowing him to ever meet my daughter should the opportunity arise. If is elected and I am ever on a tour of Congress, I would not shake his hand.

The irony here is that so many people are suddenly normalizing relationships between adults and teens. I guess I have different boundaries. IN MY OPINION (for Tina), if Moore was a Democrat, he would be getting roasted here at HHR and Democrats would be saying “It’s no big deal. He’s like Jerry Seinfeld.”

  323. Jonesy says:

    327. Valid points, Bitter.

Klobacher, and her pal Al Franken, are hypocrites.

Not only are they defenders of Menendez, but have Blue Slipped Judge David Graz, Grandson of Auchwitz Survivors, to the 8th court of Appeals

  324. Jonesy says:

Bitter, first of all if Moore was Democrat, the WaPo would have never ran this story

  325. MichiganGuy says:

Well the woman’s memory is not very credible. “Earlier on Sunday, Breitbart News reported that Corfman’s mother contradicted a key detail of Corfman’s story. Speaking by phone to Breitbart News on Saturday, Wells said that her daughter did not have a phone in her bedroom during the period that Moore is reported to have allegedly called Corfman – purportedly on Corfman’s bedroom phone – to arrange at least one encounter.

The Washington Post cited Corfman as remembering that she provided Moore with her number when she was 14. She said that she spoke to Moore from what she described as the phone in her bedroom.” So, unless more evidence is provided I will continue to support Roy Moore.

    http://www.breitbart.com/big-journalism/2017/11/12/exclusive-mother-roy-moore-accuser-washington-post-reporters-convinced-daughter-go-public/

  326. Jonesy says:

This is why GOP Senate is slow on Confirmations. Senate will not be in session until 5:30 Pm today.

Have been gone since 4pm Thursday. First up a assistant for the Transportation Dept. Sigh….

  327. Tina says:

We do not agree. I do not believe that somebody who had sexual contact of any kind with a 14 year old while he was in his 30s should be a Senator.

    Everybody sane agrees with that.

We also said, wait for further evidence and other folks to come out, and so far, nobody has. Anything new that came out were questions about those women.

  328. Jonesy says:

    330. Right Mich.

    1. GOP Scalp Hunters WaPo, who tried to quell Clinton Lewinsky in 1998

    2. 40 years

    3. Mostly Dem Accusers, Felon Reporter

That is why we are skeptical

  329. Tina says:

Those articles that came out that poked holes intomtheir accounts ended triggering the wp fan boy here.

  330. Jonesy says:

If the biggest paper in Alabama wrote this piece, a different story. Would be credible.

And that could be next Tina. Usa Today and WaPo own many newspapers in alabama

  331. Tina says:

I find it weird that the gope defends menendez when the accusations include under age prostitution. Goober testified on mendendes side.

Gop e has not asked for menendez to step aside.

When asked about this apparent discrepancy, we get crickets.

  332. Jonesy says:

Robbie is a decomposing Bush Zombie, at this point tina.

Try to ignore, but he is here 24/7 with his Trump hate

  333. Jonesy says:

    336. Menendez backed the GOP on Iran and Cuba, Tina.

    Their favorite liberal

  334. Tina says:

He was especially entertaining since he was so frustrated.

Got to run and will be back later this after oon.

  335. Jonesy says:

Drudge has been no friend either.

  336. Bitterlaw says:

While The detail of the phone in the bedroom is important, didn’t any of you have phones with really long cords or long cords from the phone to the handset? My wife told me that her parents had a phone in the kitchen but the cord was long enough that she could sit on the basement steps to talk to her friends.

Menendez is probably a scumbag and I hope he is convicted. Moore may be a scumbag but it is unlikely that we will ever know the truth of this accusation.

By the way, it is good politics to threaten to sue for defamation. If Moore wins, he should drop it. As a public figure, the standard for him to overcome is very high. The Washington Post will hire attorneys who will depose every woman who was a teenager in Alabama in the 1970s and 1980s. (Note to Tina – This is my opinion. Also, the part about deposing every woman is hyperbole.)

  337. MichiganGuy says:

Wow, BL is reaching now. He is beginning to sound like Robbie. 🙂

  338. Chicon says:

Disagree Michigan, Bitter’s approach incorporates logic and balance, whether one agrees with his conclusion or not.

  339. Bitterlaw says:

Chicon – Even though I voted for Trump, did not support JEB!, and have not stated that I believe Moore’s accuser, I am apparently “just like Robbie.”

  340. MichiganGuy says:

BL, this is why you sound like Robbie.

    Bitterlaw says:

Most people in here realize this was a hit job by the fake news wapo but, you don’t care. Guilty until proven innocent! So say BL.

  341. Bitterlaw says:

You don’t understand the difference between “realize” and “believe.”

This can be a hit piece and true at the same time. The accusations could be true. The accusations could be false. The accusations could be partly true.

I already said that the voters of Alabama can do whatever they want. Moore does not believe in the rule of law. That bothers me as an attorney.

  342. DW says:

I didn’t pay attention all weekend to the Moore story. I said late last week that if he was guilty, there was a strong chance other new accusers would be appear on the scene. Can someone who followed this all weekend tell me how many we are up to besides the one 14 year old serious accusation and the three who accused Moore of doing right by them?

  343. Bitterlaw says:

The only benefit of a Hillary victory would have been the disappearance of MG and the Trumpers. However, while it would have been sweet, it was not worth the cost.

Last week, I posted that if a Trumper won a Republican primary for any office, I would vote for them in the General Election. I asked the Trumpers if they would do the same if the Trumper candidate did not win the primary. I do not believe that any of them answered.

  344. Robbie says:

    John Berman?
    @JohnBerman

JUST NOW: @RepCharlieDent told me he thinks 2018 will look like 1994, 2006, and 2010.

Thinks many GOP members have tough decisions to make on whether to run.

DW, the answer is zero but, BL doesn’t care. Off with his head! BL, even if, Hillary would of won I would still be here. You probably forgot I wasn’t a Trumpet until he show that he would nominate conservative judges. As far as voting goes I would vote for any republican over a democrat.

  348. MichiganGuy says:

    Trumper

  349. Robbie says:

  350. Robbie says:

I’m sure if this forum had existed in January 1998 when the initial allegations about Bill Clinton and Monica Lewinsky broke, everyone would have said Clinton deserved a chance to prove his innocence. Even better, I’m sure everyone would have said the timing was fishy and we needed to be suspicious of Drudge and Newsweek.

  351. mnw says:

PDT JA jumps to 46% in RAS today.

It’s clear to everyone what makes his JA go up (acting Presidential), & what makes his JA go down (twitter feuding).

He’s a smart man. He obviously knows that as well as we do.

Over the weekend, I read the second volume of magician/comedian Penn Jillette’s autobiography, “Every Day Is An Atheist Holiday.”

Jillette was on Celebrity Apprentice with you-know-who. The book was published in 2012, before anybody took Trump seriously about anything… except perhaps Manhattan realty.

Jillette says that Trump constantly googled his own name; found obscure blogs with maybe 23 hits total, where somebody had insulted Trump; and that Trump RESPONDED TO EVERY ONE OF THEM! In 2012!

Trump’s weird twitter stuff is deeply ingrained. Jillette had no reason whatever to make that up 5 years ago. Who would have cared?

  352. Chicon says:

356 – mnw, revealing story. The inability to choose to not respond is an ugly personality trait, imo. The gold star family during the campaign is another good example.

  353. Bitterlaw says:

MG – Am I supposed to pretend that I know that the accusation is false when I do not know if it is true or false? Is this some type of loyalty test? I reach my own conclusions.

  354. Bitterlaw says:

Trump is probably so impressed with the overwhelming support he receives at HHR that he chooses to not post here.

  355. mnw says:

    Chicon 357

I thought so too. It brought me right out of my chair I thought it was so fascinating.

I never saw Celebrity Apprentice, or any other TV show Trump was on. I did not realize that Jillette had ever been on with Trump.

Jillette is a huge leftist, but Trump doesn’t come off badly in the book– just strange. The NEXT book he writes will call Trump 20 different kinds of azalea, I’m sure. But in 2012, who cared enough about Trump to really ding him?

  356. Bitterlaw says:

I wonder where MG goes for sports scores. ESPN is a bunch of lefties. Did Dallas really get blasted by the Falcons yesterday or was it Fake News?

  357. Chicon says:

Bitter, the fix was in with Dallas, given Jones’s public battle with Roger. It’s right there before your eyes!

  358. mnw says:

It’s tough to boycott ESPN, I’ve found. You have to really try hard to do it. I usually just go to the sports league website itself— NHL.com; MLB.com.

  359. Phil says:

ESPN does a good job broadcasting sports and it’s where I go to get scores. That said, their commentary is left wing crap 24/7. Social justice all day every day. Sort of the sports arm of the DNC.

  360. MichiganGuy says:

BL,you obviously aren’t a conservative or he would know must of us are boycotting the NFL. Next he going to ask me if, I like keurig coffee makers. Geez. I do visit foxsports.com for college football.

  361. MichiganGuy says:

    most not must

  362. Phil says:

  366. Bitterlaw says:

The Eagles are 8-1. I will continue to watch. GFY.

  367. Bitterlaw says:

COD – Truly the greatest terrible candidate in American history.

  368. Todd McCain says:

I suspect Moore pulls it out just due to the limited Dem GOTV or infrastructure in the state.

I supported Strange, but like others have said, letting unsubstantiated allegations destroy someone is a slippery slope. They will use this play book again and again if it succeeds.

Any one of us can have an allegation thrown….

He could be right, but comparing 2018 to 2006 is a stretch:

    2006:

    Unpopular President
    Unpopular War
Hurricane Katrina PR disaster and 2000 dead
Series of significant GOP corruption scandals

    2018:

  374. Trump says:

  378. Trump says:

“Just three NFL players kneel during the National Anthem as the league honors the military during Veterans Day weekend.”

  383. Bitterlaw says:

  394. Redmen4ever says:

“Moore may be a scumbag but it is unlikely that we will ever know the truth of this accusation.”

I looked it up: the statute of limitations on sexual misconduct in Alabama. Forcible rape – none; Other felony sexual misconduct – 3 years; misdemeanor sexual misconduct – 1 year.

Consider the Paula Jones case. She sued in 1994 for an incident in 1991. At the time, Clinton was Governor of Arkansas and she an employee. Clinton solicited her to be his mistress, according to her. The state trooper accompanying the Governor corroborated her allegation. This got the case into court and made relevant his pattern of sexual misconduct. Clinton caved after he was held in contempt of court for perjury.

Legally, long past sexual misconduct becomes relevant as part of a pattern of conduct. This is why we can’t, at this time, form any opinion about either the accuser or the accused in the Roy Moore case. We have to be fair to both. We should have some confidence that if Roy Moore is a pedophile, other cases will surface, perhaps even cases that are legally actionable.

Did David Vitter survive a Senate Run after the Hooker crap? I know he lost the Governor’s race, but Edwards is a Conservative Dem, not a marxist like Jones

    – Years after he had been elected and not weeks before a critical election. On top of that, he admitted the behavior and asked for forgiveness.

  396. Jonesy says:

    391. Exact reason you are not credible here, Robbie.

You pray to RCP, but still have not explained how awful their state polling average was in 2016. they blew the EC

  397. Chicon says:

396 – that won’t work, Jonesy. Only (alleged) bad deeds by Republicans affect the races by other members of their party.

  398. Jonesy says:

Putting Robbie on ignore. Not worth fighting a Bush Zombie, whose eyes drip Blood on Trump.

    Life is too short

    – Your stupidity is epic. I pray to RCP? RCP aggregates polls. Only a Trump shill would think a poll average is somehow biased against the dear orange leader.

  401. Jonesy says:

GW Bush needs to worry less about Trump, and tend to his old man

6th woman accuses GHW Bush of groping, when she was 16

    – Interesting how you automatically believe the allegations made against GHWB, but you automatically don’t believe anything made against Trump or good ole Roy.

  403. Jonesy says:

    405. Last time I respond to your insanity, Meatloaf.

Still have not answered RCP’s failure to predict the electoral college of 2016.

    Because they suck

  404. Jonesy says:

Did not say there were true, but Bush did admit to groping already Robbie. final no more

Accuser says Bush 1 groped her when she was 16, in 2003. Making Bush in his late 70’s.

I would not even bring this crap up, if for the Hypocrisy of the So called Morale, Bush Family

  407. Jonesy says:

Moore’s Wife, is standing by her man so far. You must admit that does help him

  408. Trump says:

Somebody should ask him about Joseph Smith and Brigham Young.

Filing a lawsuit is a good thing for Moore, I think. Let’s see if anybody else wants to help the DEMs that much.

Let’s have EVERYBODY have a little something at stake here.

Paul surprised that the Greens never went after them on the KCups going straight to landfills

  412. Paul says:

415: He would lose a lawsuit. But, yes, it would be fun to watch.

    – Hey, doofus. All RCP did was average the polls. There was no subjectivity to it. Why is math so hard for you?

    – Good ole Roy is never going to sue the Washington post. He doesn’t want discovery done against him.

  416. Paul says:

Funny that he will sue for a story that Roy Moore has already mostly confirmed in his own interview.

  417. Jonesy says:

Bush Family are fools like McCain. They do not understand, that even if you rip Trump and Roy Moore and play moderate, the MSM still wants to destroy you.

Here is a WW2 Hero, US Rep, CIA Director, VP, and POTUS and his legacy could be shattered by the MSM.

Will Texas A&AM now dump his Library?

    What “discovery” do you envision?

  421. Trump says:

Same discovery that destroyed Rolling Stones story about VA fraternity?

How much did RS pay up?

  422. Jonesy says:

4 more weeks to this darn election? This is pathetic.

  423. Trump says:

  426. Trump says:

“Rolling Stone Loses Defamation Case Over Rape Story”

Should we bring up the Duke lacrosse team case?

  427. Trump says:

    DA didn’t just resign/\.

    He was disbarred.

  428. Trump says:

    Wait, there’s more:

“He was the district attorney for Durham County, North Carolina (the state’s 14th Prosecutorial District) but was removed, disbarred and jailed following court findings concerning his conduct in the Duke lacrosse case.”

  429. Jonesy says:

    433. Trump’s fault

Obama sucked at foreign policy. He never could get a dictator to sing him a love song like Trump does. MAGA

  431. Chicon says:

Mitch more aggressively calling for Moore to get out. Says he believes the women. Perhaps he knows more than us.

  432. DW says:

436 – “the women” who has come out now other than the 14 year old? These ‘other three’ testified that Moore never did anything wrong.

  433. Chicon says:

435 – do you have a link of a list of foreign policy achievements during the Obama years?

  434. Jonesy says:

Mitch is hedging bets, Chi. I think he knows moore will win, but wants to appear the against him for 2018 races

  435. Chicon says:

437 – DW, not sure what he knows, but he’s stepped up his tone today. Just wondering if he may know more is coming and is getting out front.

  436. Paul says:

There won’t be enough to cause Moore to drop out. He should stay in and let the voters decide.

  437. Jonesy says:

Agree Paul . Write in only works with Sessions. Strange would cause Moore voters to stay home

  438. Paul says:

Write in campaign is fine. Just no need to do anything more drastic 🙂

If Moore can win, let him win. If he can’t, ditch him.
