Moore Leads Jones By 6% in AL…or It’s Tied

Two more polls came out late yesterday, one from Change Research and one from Monmouth University that once again gave us conflicting numbers in the state of Alabama.

US SENATE – ALABAMA (Change Research)
Roy Moore (R) 51%
Doug Jones (D) 45%

US SENATE – ALABAMA (Monmouth)
Doug Jones (D) 46%
Roy Moore (R) 46%

The Change Research poll was done December 9-11 while the Monmouth poll was done December 6-9, both among likely voters. Polls will be closing at 8pm tonight.

  1. Wes says:

Finally we’re at the end of this Barnum and Bailey circus of a special election.

  2. mnw says:

NYT: “Private Democratic polls suggest a closer race than the FOX poll predicts.”

  3. Bitterlaw says:

The best result would be a Moore victory and the Senate refuses to seat him.

I will stay with my prediction that Jones wins. If I am wrong, add it to the list.

  4. Wes says:

Remember when the VAGOP wasn’t a joke? Well, probably not if you’re under 35.

    https://mobile.twitter.com/gmoomaw/status/940221308985643009

In just over a decade, the VAGOP has gone from the dominant party in the state to an afterthought.

Things are now so bad Jim Gilmore–last seen losing by 31 points for the state’s Class 2 Senate seat and not even registering as a contender for President last year–is the white knight the party needs to put forward as a sacrificial lamb against Tim Kaine to keep Corey Stewart and E. W. Jackson from embarassing the party further.

Hey, if foxnews and washingtonpost can do fake polls why not these guys. 🙂

  6. Tina says:

Andrew McCarthy: “I think we’re ultimately going to find that the real collusion story of the 2016 election was the way that the Obama admin put the law enforcement and intelligence arms of the admin in the service of the Clinton campaign.”

  7. Bitterlaw says:

MG’s Dictionary – Fake Polls = Polls that do not fit his narrative.

  8. MichiganGuy says:

Special primary to replace @RepTrentFranks will be Feb. 27 and special general election will be April 24,

  9. MichiganGuy says:

BL, as usual you are wrong.

  10. Bitterlaw says:

Really, MG? You rejected every poll that was good for Jones out of hand. In Virginia, you tortured every poll to show that Gillespie would win.

Whomever wins today, I expect it to be close.

  11. MichiganGuy says:

More lies from BL. Can even get his facts straight. Poor miserable guy. 🙁

  12. Bitterlaw says:

You did not predict that Gillespie would win? Whatever.

As I said, I hope Moore wins and never serves. Unbelievable that Alabama voters have such contempt for the rule of law that they would nominate him. Their train wreck, not mine. At least it will be over soon.

  13. Greymarch says:

Prediction: Jones wins by 4. AL is one of the most red states in the union, but every voter in AL knows about the Moore child-molestation allegations and that will lower Moore’s turnout just enough for Jones to win.

  14. Wes says:

Grey, I think the fact that Roy Moore is, well, Roy Moore will hurt him more than the allegations.

Lightweight Senator Kirsten Gillibrand, a total flunky for Chuck Schumer and someone who would come to my office “begging” for campaign contributions not so long ago (and would do anything for them), is now in the ring fighting against Trump. Very disloyal to Bill & Crooked-USED!

  21. Bitterlaw says:

DW – Is MD still on the Board at Paladin?

  22. Wes says:

Wyoming Democrats–last seen winning a Senate race in the state in 1970–are now looking at a two-time House loser for Senate against John Barrasso. His campaign platform: getting money out of politics.

    https://www.usnews.com/news/best-states/wyoming/articles/2017-12-08/democrat-gary-trauner-announces-bid-for-wyoming-us-senate

As we all know, the party of Barack Obama is genuinely serious about getting money out of politics. 🙄

  23. mnw says:

I’m not sure that Analytix Polling exists. If so, their google footprint is nearly invisible, & they provide no data whatsoever.

    I think it’s intended to be a joke,!like Paladin.

  24. Tina says:

I think emerson is the most reputable poll released in the last day or so.

    Faux has issues.

  25. Bitterlaw says:

Wes – Just remember that donations from unions, liberal individuals and liberal PACs is not really money. $1 from the Koch nrothers is toxic to the political system.

  26. Bitterlaw says:

Paladin is not a joke. They just are not real. Totally different.

  27. Sheeple, Jr. says:

At RRH, Moshe says Jones(D) +5 and Tekzilla Jones +2.
PredictIt has Moore at 72 and Jones at 32.

  28. Wes says:

Moshe Moshe should quit pretending to be a Republican and just come clean about his genuine partisan allegiance.

  29. Tina says:

    It’s all very simple.

McCabe & Ohr gave Fusion GPS an oppo project on behalf of Hillary with a wink and nod from Lynch & Obama, then weaponized FBI & DOJ to legitimize it.

    Strzok’s orders came from McCabe.

    Comey’s came from Lynch.

They never expected a Hillary loss.
    5:48 AM · Dec 12, 2017

Muh russian is finalky becoming interesting.

  30. mnw says:

Notice the RRH poll of its posters?

First of all, only about 70 voted. Jones gets nearly half. & Moore finished in third place (10 votes), well behind Busby.

They need to change it from Red Racing Horses to some other color horses, or something.

  31. Wes says:

Blue Racing Horses would be more appropriate (though I hate the political colorcoding).

  32. Sheeple, Jr. says:

A new Consumer Google Poll has Jones(D) +3. It is a full online poll. Considering that only about 62% of Alabamians have internet access, for whom do you think the other 38% will vote for?
Hint: Moore and his spouse are riding to their polling place on horseback!

  33. DW says:

23 – MD was never on the board, his positions were Chief Strategist, Polling Analyst, and Director of Data Collections. But he is no longer with Paladin/CFP. He never did get along with Heinz, and so he stepped down the day after the 2016 election.

  34. Wes says:

Can anyone link to the anslysis of the Paladin/CFP poll from a few years ago? That was hilarious.

  35. DW says:

But the best was when Polaris (con)descended into our space to lecture us about the polling and picked apart one of our Paladin/CFP polls, and when called on it, dug in his heels to defend his analysis.

  36. Wes says:

    Can you post that, DW?

  37. MichiganGuy says:

The people of Alabama will do the right thing. Doug Jones is Pro-Abortion, weak on Crime, Military and Illegal Immigration, Bad for Gun Owners and Veterans and against the WALL. Jones is a Pelosi/Schumer Puppet. Roy Moore will always vote with us. VOTE ROY MOORE!

  38. DW says:

Hard to believe it won’t be much longer before we come up on the 10th anniversary of Paladin/CFP polling. *snif* getting emotional here when considering all that we have done throughout the years.

  39. DW says:

41 – I should have saved it, but its now lost in the sea of Dave’s archives.

  40. DW says:

Here is Nate Cohn’s evaluation of Paladin/CFP. Based on faulty data he received, he wrongly reached the conclusion we were fake:

    Paladin/CFP
    ————————————————–
The most accurate poll around! Suck it Bitter

  42. Wes says:

Of course while Jones is all those things, Elmer Gantry fails to mention Moore is an opportunistic, lawbreaking theocrat.

Moore seems to have weathered the storm though and will likely win narrowly.

  43. DW says:

The same Aaron Booth had provided his own analysis of Paladin here:

    http://www.electoralreports.com/blog/per-request-paladincfp

But apparently wasn’t sure enough of his own research so he asked Nate Cohn about it.

  44. DW says:

Little known fact…Heinz, the great polling wizard working for Paladin, also works for this company on the side, which explains the problem he often has with the bottle:

    paladinbrewing.com/
Paladin Brewing is a locally owned craft brewery in Austintown Ohio, West of Youngstown on Mahoning Avenue. We have offer a tasting tavern & growler fills.

  45. jason says:

Pre vote exits look ok for Moore.

  46. mnw says:

What is a “preview exit poll,” pls?

Sounds like a contradiction in terms! If they haven’t voted yet, how do you conduct an exit poll?

  47. Tina says:

Is their a loon aka jebot poll?

  48. Bitterlaw says:

Theocrat with no respect for the law vs Flaming lib. What a great choice.

  49. mnw says:

    sb “prevote exit”

  50. jason says:

Paladin was never fake, I have communicated many times with its principals.

These facts about Paladin are also true:

    – they invested their resources wisely.

    – they used alternative polling techniques.

    – they made good use of existing data.

  51. jason says:

Ma, we reeled in a big mnwfish on the first cast, this could be a really good day.

  52. DW says:

51 – jason does this every election day–spoofing exit polling data.

  53. NYCmike says:

” (though I hate the political colorcoding).”

-Didn’t the networks used to alternate colors every 4 years? I believe I read something like that, and also when watching replay of one of Reagan’s victories, his states were marked in blue.

  54. jason says:

Theocrat with no respect for the law vs Flaming lib. What a great choice.”

    Thanks, deadenders.

  55. Cash Cow TM says:

    DW,

Add Dan Johnson to your list.
    Kentucky state legislator.

    you’re welcome…

  56. Ron N says:

I am going to say Moore plus 10. Just to many Trump votes down there that feel the media is out to get president.

  57. jason says:

51 – jason does this every election day–spoofing exit polling data.”

It was the first time someone bit on a “pre vote” exit poll.

  58. mnw says:

    Yes, I bought it.

I thought maybe it was if people who voted before Election Day.

  59. NYCmike says:

Lord Fauntleroy should be posting his exits soon….

  60. mnw says:

  61. NYCmike says:

As well as the comings and goings from Westminster.

  62. jason says:

that feel the media is out to get president.”

I think the media IS out to get the president, still couldn’t vote for him.

His hope is that most people don’t think like me, just like most here voted for Trump even if they didn’t like him.

I hope Moore wins by one vote.

  63. Cash Cow TM says:

Some (many) pollsters are going to have an “egg- meets-face” moment tonight in AL.

    Other 2

  65. jason says:

False. You already lied once about the tax plan saying we no longer will be able to deduct charitable giving. That is absolutely false.

    2. Deliberate destruction of ACA healthcare

False. Obamacare was already self-destructing because it is not sustainable. You are blaming the clergy officiating the funeral for the dead man in the casket.

    1. Moderate tax policy

False. Obama’s taxes were oppressive, which is why a cut is needed.

Obama is not a Christian. He attended a black liberation theology church led by a preacher who hates America.

  136. jason says:

    Obama a “moderate” on taxes?

    LOL

The only thing that kept him from implementing huge tax increases was a R congress.

So instead he increased the national debt by what, 9 trillion so he could keep doling out money to keep people government dependent and voting Democratic.

Pretty despicable, if you ask me.

It has worked out okay for us. It could be better. But now my autistic son and my wife with MS are covered. They were not able to be before.

  151. DW says:

More evidence that Bitter and I disagree at times. I have argued this with him before. Obama is not a Christian. He even said to George Stephanopoulos “my Muslim faith” to which George corrected him in a panic.

I have never known of a Christian who slipped and said ‘my Jewish faith’ or ‘my Hindu faith’ or ‘my Muslim faith’ Its just not the sort of ‘slip of the tongue’ that’s going to happen.

Furthermore, Liberation theology is more political than it is religious. Obama’s preacher used the trappings of religious-sounding language to advance his socio-political causes.

It has nothing to do with New Testament Christianity.

  161. NYCmike says:

    Paul,

Your list about the Clean Water Act, and the National Parks are kind of ridiculous.

The Clean Water Act will continue to be enforced, but the latest regulations put in place by Obama, which could in a court of law (for example, if the FBI wanted to get a plea out of a person) make puddles on a private property come under the jurisdiction of the federal government, are being rescinded or not enforced.

In regards to the national parks, if Obama, and people of certain states, had wanted the vast expanses of land to be categorized as national parks, he should have made that decision in the first 7-1/2 years of his Presidency, as opposed to the last 6 months.

BUT, as you and I both know, it was purely a political act, AND “ELECTIONS HAVE CONSEQUENCES”, as someone so “eloquently” put it.

No matter. I still enjoy mocking you for believing Napolitano’s claim Obama used British intelligence to spy on Trump and Rod Wheeler’s claim the DNC murdered Seth Rich.

And no, I don’t want Republicans to lose. I’m mocking you dolts who refuse to accept Trump is a lead weight around the neck of the Republican Party and would rather comfort yourselves in the warm embrace of garbage Rasmussen polls.

    -Robbie,
Any CAPITAL LETTERS to describe this link?

    – Lots of great things are taking place, but your man crush, Trump, has decided to make everyone hate him so much he doesn’t get credit for anything.

Imagine if your hero Trump had never tweeted this year and had simply allowed the economic numbers to speak for themselves. His approval rating would be in the 50’s and there would be no special council investigation. But Hillary, right?

  197. Chicon says:

    Garbage.
He is no Christian and we know he says a lot of things he doesn’t mean, why would this be different.
The “people clinging to guns and religion” comment is all you need to know about what he thinks of Christians.

    – Simply amazing to read. You cut Trump slack on everything idiotic thing he does. You even stupidly approved of his tweet mocking Mika’s facelift, but you then say Obama isn’t a Christian even if he says he is. What a fraud. It just proves my point. You’re willing to give Trump the benefit of the doubt simply because he has a R next to his name. If he had a D next to his name, you’d attack him for the very things you have defended him. The proof is all there in your comment.

My cruise lasted from Thanksgiving day, November 23, until November 30. It was very enjoyable as well. The weather was perfect and the ocean in the Caribbean was smooth as glass all week.

Conservative judges and fewer regulations may move the needle with the committed activists, but 95% or more of the country have no idea about either topic and only make judgments on the person and the economy. HE IS SERVING. Isn’t there now a new parameter on which to judge him?

If I didn’t like Trump because he said he thought his moonbat sister was a good pick for SCOTUS, but after he was elected he picked Gorsuch, what should I judge him on? His comment on his sister or his actual pick?

I did what I could to oppose Trump from getting the nomination. I didn’t vote for him in the GE.

So why would a guy with a 65% personal disapproval rating help his party win seats in a mid-term election for the 1st time in nearly 70 years?

    Its the economy stupid!!!

Generally, if the economy is doing well and progress is being made, voters don’t want to turn against the policies helping the economy thrive and go back to lackluster performance. The alternative needs to have a compelling argument other than:

    – Clinton’s JOB APPROVAL rating was close to 55% at the time of the 1998 midterm elections. That year voters separated Clinton’s personal behavior from the job he was doing.

With Trump, voters are not separating his personal behavior from the job he’s doing. His job approval is at best in the high 30’s.

And I’d also like to know what interview means. Is that a meeting before the grand jury or just one with investigators?

Much to their chagrin right now they are showing that 46% of the people interviewed share the same values as Moore. If this is true then this is his floor and it should be a quick night, as he needs to barely get any vote of those who don’t “share his values.”

It will be interesting to see how the next few hours unfold…and what the Senate will do should Moore win.

I don’t know if they are all false, I know they are politically motivated. The timing sucks and the WAPO is such garbage that I don’t trust anything they say.

I am more inclined to think Moore was more of a creep than a molester.

But if they are verified I will be the first to support Moore from being kicked out of the Senate.

I just didn’t support the idea of 40 year old unsubstantiated allegation being used to derail a candidate right before the election, that’s too much of a slippery slope.

It’s tempting to try to get rid of Moore because of these allegations, but as usual you don’t see the bigger picture.

I’m really not the biggest fan of Trump, but it’s a double edged sword.

Think about it, the guy is a jerk, but he’s a jerk because he isn’t afraid to say what a lot of America is thinking.

As a Libertarian, I’m bothered by the fact that the media gets to control the narrative. I’m even more bothered that the newsroom serves as a courtroom, especially on the subject of sexual harassment. I’ve come to call most Liberals “snowflakes” for obvious reason. The level of victimhood in this country is astounding.

I’m also bothered by Russia. Putin is a clever SOB. I honestly believe that Russia fed information to both the Democrats and Republicans in the hopes that it would further divide us, and I believe we took the bait. Rather than wasting our time talking about who colluded with who, we should band together as Americans and push back against Russia if they truly did interfere with our elections.

In the meantime, I’ll be throwing darts at a picture of Gloria Allred.

I have watched liberalism systematically destroying this country. So the “moral high ground” be damned. We need to win and win at all cost. This is war.
