I have no idea who the nominee for the Ds will be. Pretty decent chance it will not be Biden, Sanders, Winfrey or Warren.

  2. DW says:

    Generic Congressional Ballot:

    Democrats 45
    Republicans 40

    Robbie and trolls hardest hit!

  3. DW says:

That loud silence you heard the last 30 minutes was Robbie not showing up to post the Emerson poll.

    Jebots crushed.

    Emerson 45/40 Democrats +5
    Economist/YouGov 44/37 Democrats +7
    Quinnipiac 52/35 Democrats +17
    Reuters/Ipsos 40/31 Democrats +9

As for that tweet about “move the UN to Haiti” – that is exactly right!

Robbie, all of those countries that refuse to go to Haiti for the UN meetings, will it be because they are RACIST, or because it is a SH*THOLE?

I deleted an earlier tweet about Ambassador Feeley’s resignation over concerns the phrasing was misleading. Feeley resigned December 27th, according to the State Dept. In the resignation letter read to @reuters, he cited political conflict with the current president’s policies.

  9. DW says:

So I guess the term “Chain-smoker” is also racist and it offends those addicted to smoking whose ancestors came to U.S. ‘In Chains’

Department store Chains are also racist, because they offend shoppers whose ancestors came to U.S. ‘in chains’

  10. Tina says:

It is apparent that they invented chain migration as being a slur.

    An invention.

  11. DW says:

Olive Garden is racist because they are a chain-restaurant, offending patrons whose ancestors came to the USA in chains.

  12. DW says:

Chain link fences are doubly-racist. They appear most frequently in low-income areas, preventing the free movement of minorities, and they offend minorities whose ancestors came to the USA in chains.

  14. DW says:

Chain letters are racist because they can be received by those whose ancestors came to the U.S. in chains.

  15. DW says:

Chain-gang is a particularly offensive term to prisoners whose ancestors came to the USA in chains.

  16. DW says:

Jewelers who sell chain necklaces are racist as they offend patrons whose ancestors came to the U.S. in chains.

When will these idiot media people and professional political trump haters learn. What they think is a big deal and will bring down isn’t that big of a deal at all. Trump may have a temper and say stuff that is controversial but most know he is not a racist. Once again by misreading the majority of voters in this country they will over play what at worst is insensitive words and end up wringing their hands.

It seems that some (Robbie) on this site have forgotten basic political rule 1 — people in the end will vote their pocket books. If I was a Democrat who voted against the Tax bill and said that it was just for big corporations and the rich and then see what just happened at Walmart yesterday, I would be scared to death.

  35. dblaikie says:

And by the way all polls are suspect (and I mean all) but generic polls this far out are about as meaningless as they come.

  36. Proud Obamacon says:

Damn, JulStol swoops in to help Phil and makes things even worst. So what’s the answer? What’s the percentage? Damn, this is not rocket science!

  37. Proud Obamacon says:

30% approval for the tax scam.

“what just happened at Walmart yesterday”

What happened? Peanut bonus and only to those employees with 20+ years with WalMart? Sam’s Club stores closing unexpectedly? All while WalMart pockets 99.9% of the money it saves because of the scam.

Yeah, that will definitely help your Orange Sex Toy!

  38. Paul says:

Regarding the current Trump ridiculousness, this is the lens I view it through…

My background is in a very strong Evangelical Christian family. My parents have been missionaries and leaders in a small rural Baptist church. My sister has been a missionariy in Chad, Africa since the 1980s. And my brother and sister-in-law are missionaries in another area of Africa.

All of these family members have voted Republican for the most part for their lives. My sister had been extremely anti-Hillary and Bill Clinton. (she secretly voted in the democratic primary in 2008 just to vote against Hillary.)

However, they were each turned off by Trump during the 2015/2016 period. Not one of them voted for Trump. Not even my sister.

My father died this past year and I remember spending the last night of his life with him talking about various things. I’m embarrassed and angry that Trump even came up. But he had to make a point to me that he didn’t vote for Trump.

Now with this latest comment about immigrants from Haiti and Africa, my brother who has worked in Kenya is just truly disgusted by Trump and is leaving the Republican party.

However, I have “friends” from my rural Indiana high school who continue to be as pleased as ever with Trump. They are the friends who didn’t go to college and have stayed in that little town all their life. And I do think a big part of their support is racism and fear of outsiders. Some of these may have not been involved in politics before Trump.

So I think Trump continues to lose from one group and gains/holds support from another group. Not sure how it plays out. We’ll see in this election.

  40. DW says:

46…you are the cherrypicker. There are only four polls on the generic ballot since the tax bill passed. The prior ones are all meaningless.

    Here again are those four:

    Emerson D+5
    Quinnipiac D+17
    Ipsos D+9
    YouGov D+7

You are the one that cherry-picks the one poll that isn’t like the other three.

“The only Wall Street bank which has admitted to three criminal felony charges – all coming within the past three years – has been allowed to send one of its trading executives to head a key post at Wall Street’s top cop – the Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC). Failing up continues to be the business model in the nation’s capitol.”

“The Trump administration, in its continuing Swamp-filling mandate from the billionaires behind the dark curtain, has elevated Brett Redfearn as Director of the Division of Trading and Markets at the SEC. Redfearn has worked at JPMorgan Securities from November 2004 to October 2017 when he was named to the new SEC post.”

The California Silicon tech leaders were the major financial backers of Obama, Hillary and other Democrats. Despite having billions stashed overseas, they rely on cheap foreign labor. In Silicon Valley 57% of tech workers are from foreign countries, most using the H-1B visa program:

Here is how tech abuses the H-1B program:

“But this week on 60 Minutes, correspondent Bill Whitaker reports that the H-1B visa program has since been seriously abused, allowing companies to fire American workers and to bring in cheap foreign labor.

“I’m outraged,” Morrison tells Whitaker on the broadcast, excerpted in the clip above. “The H-1B has been hijacked as the main highway to bring people from abroad and displace Americans.”

Today, Morrison is a legislative advocate for the Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers-U.S.A., a professional group. He believes the problems stem from a change made in a 1998 amendment to the law, after he left Congress. The amendment allows companies that rely on H-1B workers to ignore requirements about protecting American jobs as long as they pay the foreign workers at least $60,000 a year. That’s now a paltry salary in the tech industry, making it easy to push out American workers in favor of foreigners who can be hired for much cheaper.

“It’s really a travesty that should never have been allowed to happen,” Morrison says.

  47. DW says:

50 – I see you don’t like it when facts are presented that counter your narrative.

You pick one poll out of four that you like, and then accuse me of cherry-picking and of not having an education. Laughable considering I have a college degree with honors, and three masters degrees with honors. I know several ancient languages and can pick up a 1st century papyrus from the Greek speaking world and read it.

  48. SanDiegoCitizen says:

    51. Of course the Democratic business super rich were not going to go to the trouble of of using the the H-1B visa program to import cheap labor for manufacturing jobs into the U.S. They just relocated the jobs to China and India. Apple & all the other major progressive tech giants use what amounts to “coolie” labor to manufacture their goods. Rather than “America First”, their motto is “Screw Americans First.” It should have been Obama and Hillary’s campaign motto.
