Kerry As Dumb As President Bush

Speaking of the former Vietnam Veteran, it appears Mr. Kerry wasn’t any smarter than President Bush during their years at Yale. Again, from The Boston Globe.

But newly released records show that Bush and Kerry had a virtually identical grade average at Yale University four decades ago.

In 1999, The New Yorker published a transcript indicating that Bush had received a cumulative score of 77 for his first three years at Yale and a roughly similar average under a non-numerical rating system during his senior year.

Kerry, who graduated two years before Bush, got a cumulative 76 for his four years, according to a transcript that Kerry sent to the Navy when he was applying for officer training school. He received four D’s in his freshman year out of 10 courses, but improved his average in later years.

The grade transcript, which Kerry has always declined to release, was included in his Navy record. During the campaign the Globe sought Kerry’s naval records, but he refused to waive privacy restrictions for the full file.
The transcript shows that Kerry’s freshman-year average was 71. He scored a 61 in geology, a 63 and 68 in two history classes, and a 69 in political science. His top score was a 79, in another political science course. Another of his strongest efforts, a 77, came in French class.
Kerry’s weak grades came despite years of education at some of the world’s most elite prep schools, ranging from Fessenden School in Massachusetts to St. Paul’s School in New Hampshire.

It is starting to become a little clearer as to why Kerry didn’t want his military records released. The records show he was actually a worse student than President Bush….

“Another of his strongest efforts, a 77, came in French class.”

      But of course!

If grades were the reason Kerry decided to not open his records earlier, then the man has vanity issues which are so severe to call into question his judgement.

    3. jones says:

Well, he ran as a smart guy. Bush didn’t. Too bad Kerry had no accomplishments to run on.

    4. Ironman says:

“Don’t know much about history, don;t know much geology”

    5. Richard Garcia says:

Not too surprising. Remember, it also turned out that Gore did worse than W in college, and yet he was touted as the “intellectual candidate.”

    6. McCain says:

The less educated among us are statistically more likely to vote Democrat.

    7. Tim V says:

#6 I thought those with graduate degrees tended to vote for the dems.

    8. McCain says:

Yes, both the eggheads and the blockheads tend to vote Democratic. All the regular folks in the middle with high school degrees and/or college degrees vote Republican.

    9. Tim V says:

#8 but according to Howard Dean republicans don’t work for a living. so that big middle must all be on trust funds I guess.

    10. CJ says:

“I’m John Kerry and I’m reporting for summer school”

    11. Will says:

Oh my CJ!!!! You are a card…

Have you all seen the bumper sticker that says “I vote Democratic because I think”? Will the Democrat’s undertone of superior intellect ever stop?

    12. ATM says:

And JFK would be one of those people who account for all the post-graduate Democrat voters. Makes you wonder whether those Dems with post-graduate degrees are all that bright.

    13. McCain says:

They are as bright as any other tenured hippy liberal teach in our public universities.

    14. timactual says:

Those that claim superior intellect often don’t have it. Like most other things, if you have to brag about it, you ain’t got it.

    15. McCain says:

Speaking of bright, did you read those articles yet?

    16. Neil says:

John F. Kerry should be arrested for treason and sedition. Then, he should be in prison in an orange jump suit with Michael Jackson and Scott Petterson.
