Astonishing number of Dem( you guv) and college polls. They crank them out like popcorn at a movie. Their copier machines must be worn out. Coincidence with Barrett nomination? Can’t be that! That would be wrong to try and influence a nomination.

      Adding Quinnipiac…

An update on Paladin Polling Grades. The methodology is simple, can be explained in a few sentences, and is based on ACTUAL PERFORMANCE from the 2016 presidential race.

      Methodology:

      1) Each poll is like a college course, and is given a letter grade, based on accuracy. Then based on a standard collegiate grading scale (A = 4; A- = 3.7; B+ = 3.3; B = 3, etc.) the overall GPA is calculated to get the overall letter grade.

      2) Each battleground state is worth 3 credits, while easier to poll states (MA, AR, IL, etc) are worth 2 credits. This helps compensate for pollsters who like to rack up the score on easy states.

So the results are clear, fair, and without partiality, unlike the garbage put out by 538. These are all based on the grading of each of the last polls for a given state in 2016.

Here are the grades of the polling firms graded thus far by Paladin Polling Grades:

      Trafalgar Group A-
      Emerson College B
      Suffolk University B-
      Survey USA C+
      Monmouth University C
      Marist College C
      Quinnipiac University C
      Mason-Dixon C
      Public Policy Polling C-
      IPSOS D-

Joe Biden Claims He Attended ‘Historically Black College’ in speaking to supporters in South Carolina during the primary

The university has stated that he was never a student there. It said that it has only records of a couple of visits as a commencement speaker.

    5. Tgca says:

      5. Totally believable.

Also, I wonder if any guys are gonna come forward to say that Barrett got them drunk and date raped them in high school. This is totally plausible because we all know how wild those church girls can get.

    6. Wes says:

Well, hey, in college, Kavanaugh hosted rape parties no one ever heard about for 35 years till Trump nominated him to the Supreme Court, so it’s utterly believable Barrett went all Eyes Wide Shut on unsuspecting people in college.

Starting to get some early nuggets from Baris’ early polling of Florida –

Says it’s early in the raw numbers and could change but looks like Florida voters believe Barrett should get a hearing and leans that way with nearly all voting groups.

Also says very early in the polling Venezuelan voters breaking for Trump by 78%. That’s the relatively new demographic in Florida. Significant in a closely divided state like Florida.

      Phil,

Here’s the answer to your question posed by you in #78 of the prior thread.

It means that the 7th Circuit Court of Appeals has stayed a District Court injunction.

That District Court injuction allowed for ballots postmarked by Election Day to be counted up to six days later. The GOP sued seeking to overturn the injunction.

The state now has to follow current election law, a win for the GOP

    18. Phil says:

if Baris is already letting us in on a few tidbits of early Fla polling results I’d say we will get get more on his show tomorrow afternoon after another dayof polling.

So the NYT article shows that Trump made money some year and lost money some years. Some losses were so heavy that the carryover of those losses excepted him from taxes in other years. This is very normal for anyone that deal with capital gains and losses and loss carryover. Another nothing burger.

    43. JeffP says:

Nothing burger…Who gives a rip about Trumps taxes… I am absolutely sure he used every tax break he could legally. Who wouldn’t do that.

I see potential Durham indictments and ACB conformation as having a bigger impact. Other game changers… SCOTUS ruling on election meddling by D states… And if Joe doesn’t start campaigning like a real candidate in October he will lose some fence sitters…just by his obvious decline in health.

    44. Gordon Allen says:

October surprise is early. The barrage of polls and the ” surprise” indicate Democrat’s are desperate to stop Barrett ,and know a Trump win there likely guarantees a Trump victory on November 3. It’s all being put on the table now; the media knows a Trump win is very possible, even likely. They have to win this now.

    45. JeffP says:

      Whoops *confirmation…LOL

    46. jaichind says:

The whole point of going after Trump’s tax records is that they might reveal “nefarious deals with Russia” etc etc. Clearly they found nothing like this or that will be the headline.

    47. Tina says:

So, The NY Times has “tax data”

      Lol

And in the final paragraph, the admit no income from muh Russia.

    48. pitchaboy says:

This is not about ACB. It is about the debate and the fact they are releasing it this early is that they need to win the debate badly. They are losing.

    49. Gatorjoel says:

Great reporting by The NY Times. Show this president has avoided millions of dollars in taxes and will be in big trouble when he is booted from office. Maybe he will need to resort to his old familiar friend to deal w the massive tax liabilities he will have…..the bankruptcy laws!! How ordinary folk who struggle can support this guy is beyond me. He has zero in common w you!!!

    50. Tina says:

Oh, and another claim made here, trump not doing debate prep.

Rudy G and Krispy Kreme Christie are helping him.

    51. Greymarch says:

I hope the polls are even more wrong this time than 2016. Bunch of polls released today, and they are all awful for Trump. As bias as the media and the polls were in 16′, feels like they are even more bias in 2020, so these polls could all be garbage polls. Finding the truth of where the race currently stands is impossible.

My best guess is Biden is up by around 4 points nationally. Maybe 2 points in PA. I’ll give FL to Trump, but all Biden needs is PA, and its over. So much can change in the next 40 days though. 3 debates between a crazy incumbent and a dementia-riddled senior citizen, along with a SCOTUS fight. Who knows how this thing will finish.

    52. Gatorjoel says:

Not paying any taxes is going to over well in PA. Turn out the lights the party is over. Trump is finished and you all will be upset on election night when he is declared defeated.

    53. Hugh says:

GM. Two pollsters got 2016 right trafalgar and Rasmussen. The rest got it wrong. So if you want to believe all the flat earthers go ahead. If you want to believe the guys who got it right Biden needs to draw an inside straight.

As it stands, ballots will now be due by 8 p.m. on Election Day. A lower court judge had sided with Democrats and their allies to extend the deadline until Nov. 9. Democrats sought more time as a way to help deal with an expected historic high number of absentee ballots.

The dispute involves the 2010 refund he got.

The refund equaled approximately what he paid from 2005 to 2008.

Also, trump can say, I took advantage of the tax law you wrote while senator for 180 years, China Biden. Your IRS gave me the 72 million refund in 2010..

The cause of the huge refund was because of a law passed by an all Democrat Congress and signed by President Obama. LOL

It was always stupid to expect tax forms to revel anything related to Russia. Its not like Trump will fill out 1040 From D stating he had a capital gain of $50 million for “illegal transition with Putin”. Even if Trump was up to something inappropriate it will not show up in tax forms. The whole point of this tax issue is to tell the story of how “crooked Trump” lied to get out of taxes and hope most people do not understand the concept of capital loss carryforward.

    80. Tina says:

This is not a win for China Biden.

Simple Question: Name me anyone who knowingly and voluntarily pays the government more taxes than he or she is required to pay?

      That’s right – no one.

    103. jaichind says:

Actually the TIPP PA poll DRI is 44/40.5/15.5 which is not too far off from the 2016 PA exit poll of 42/39/20. I think the D+7 quoted before is unweighted numbers.

Granted the GOP have made some gains in party registration since 2016 but the DRI of this poll does not seem that far off. Perhaps it gives Biden an extra edge of 1% or so. The main problem I have with this poll is it has Biden winning independents 51-34 which I find hard to believe.

This poll has Trump with 18.4% of the Black vote which in theory should be enough for him to win the state. Main reason why he is behind is his lead with Whites is down to 49-45.

So if one believes that Trump lost tons of ground with suburban White women voters then this poll would make sense. If one believes that this did not take place and most likely this poll fail to weight by education and oversampled educated White women voters then this poll is most likely off.

So, now there’s a made-up hullabaloo over Trump’s personal taxes for the years he put holdings into trusts and turned over the business to his children…during the years he gave away his salary as president? My inquiring mind wants to know if Biden and Hunter reported their foreign money from China, Russia, Iraq, the Caribbean, and Ukraine…perhaps other countries…to the IRS through the years.

It’s probably why his hair has been left long in the back of his neck. Old Joe gets fed answers and almost always uses a teleprompter. When Biden reads a speech on teleprompter, it is never longer than 20-25 minutes long, because he starts to get confused and lost while reading. Biden will often even do a “Ron Burgundy” and read the teleprompter command lines! Biden has refused to do any serious interviews, and instead only takes questions to which he can read the answers. Biden does have a set of lines that he has used thousands of times over 47 years, and thinks acting crabby gives him gravitas. If Biden performs like he did in the primary debates, where he tuckered-out after 20 minutes, Trump should do very well Tuesday night.

    179. Bitterlaw says:

Biden will be told to say this when Hunter’s name comes up. “Mr. President, you are lucky enough to have all of your children. I have buried my daughter and one of my sons. Are you so desperate to save your failed Presidency that you have to go after my remaking son? I feel sorry for you.”

How does Trump respond to that? Does he say, “Sorry the bad son lived?” I’m not naive. I am pointing out the risk may outweigh the reward.

Hunter Biden matters to Trump’s base and they are locked in.

178 – Tillis is a dead man walking. Moving closer to a safe D state every day. He will trail Demented Don by 6-7% in the state (who is also going to lose in NC btw).

    182. Annie says:

      182. Gator guy…

You are as dumb as a pile of bricks. I’m sure you think you are very popular in your swamp. I bet, however, that your friends and family are all Trump voters and refuse to talk politics with you.

    183. Wes says:

I can forgive the Chappaquiddick Whale for being a drunken whoremonger. I have no problem with that. I simply can’t understand why the Bay State for decades sent a latter-day Caligula who used his political connections to escape just punishment for killing a woman and later tried to rape a waitress to Washington for things far exceeding anything Bill Clinton or Bob Packwood ever did.

Or Joe will just ask Demented Don why his daughter (who Demented Don is sexually attracted to don’t forget) was getting “consulting fees” to write off on his taxes. What sort of “consulting” was she doing – how to defraud the government, perhaps?

I don’t think she will last very long in prison.

    188. Phil says:

      Wes, thanks.

    189. Tgca says:

The Kennedy’s were the most unscrupulous of political families. There was no Kennedy curse. They behaved wrecklessly. They were led by a unscrupulous father Joe who should have gone to jail for his crooked dealings as the 1st Securities and Exchange Commission head in addition to many other I.legal dealing and corrupt dealings. Rose was a cold-hearted mother who cared more for her religious convictions and causes then her children while always playing the suffering matriarch.

    190. Bitterlaw says:

      Tgca vs lisab? Zzzzzzzzzz

One of the best fights in HHR history was between Author and Tgca. I recall Author called Tgca a Queen. Tgca called Author a pedo for going to Disney so often when he did not have children.

    191. Annie says:

      168. Again, Trump should ignore the “sympathy plea” as the hokum that it is, and respond that Hunter’s behavior compromises the country and the presidency. And, that Biden knew about it and supported it, not only in regard to Hunter, but other family members.

    192. Wes says:

I live in a fairly liberal area of NC. Right now I’m seeing exactly what I saw four years ago: a lot of excitement among Republicans with less among Democrats, BLM notwithstanding.

    194. Gatorbillyjoel says:

North Carolina is more Democrat than it was 4 years ago when Demented Don survived by the skin of his teeth against hated Hillary.

Women hate Demented Don, college-educated voters hate him, suburban voters hate him. There aren’t enough 50+ white dudes without a degree to save Demented Don this time. NC voters will give him a big tarheel imprint on his backside.

    195. lisab says:

The Kennedy’s were the most unscrupulous of political families….
      ———————————

so you have read the books …

      recklessly is an understatement

    196. Wes says:

Chappaquiddick was a pretty big scandal, Lisa. Democrats tossed Kennedy out of the Senate leadership over it. Of course a judge illegally waived REQUIRED jail time for Kennedy’s role in Kopechne’s death despite the sleazy Senator’s history of reckless driving. The lack of a visual of Kennedy’s serving time for his act may have played a part in his avoiding deserved electoral backlash.

    197. Annie says:

      168. Let Biden get overly emotional or angry…he isn’t temperamentally suited to be president. Trump should keep an even tone, but firmly get across that such corrupt behavior could compromise the presidency and American security. Just what did the Bidens say to the Chinese military, businesses, and government that was not in official transcripts? Why did Hunter get $3.5 million from Russians?

    198. Annie says:

Trump can stick to the information in the Johnson-Grassley report, if he doesn’t want to make the Hunter info too personal.

    199. Wes says:

How about no on that, Troll?

Democrats couldn’t even pick up my congressional seat in a bad year for Republicans with a lackluster GOP nominee facing off against the obligatory liberal former military serviceman the Dems like to run here–IN 2018.

You may want to try actually living here and talking to the people of the state before talking about things you know absolutely nothing about.

    200. Tgca says:

      197 Bittter

I don’t recall calling him a pedo because he went to Disney, though I mocked his immaturity and obsession with cartoons and other child pastimes. I also told him he might end up with a gay son someday, and reminded him of his bigotry for his subsequent homo remarks when he whined like a little bish because someone referred to him as Pedro in an argument once.

What a f@cking hypocrite. He can make bigoted remarks but others can’t.

Time has shown he was not a real conservative after he went full looney because of a Trump so his years of preaching it only later exposed more hypocrisy.

    201. Wes says:

By the way, while Trump’s 3.5-point victory here in 2016 was hardly a landslide it wasn’t exactly by the skin of his teeth.

Unfortunately Roy Cooper will survive, but Trump and Tillis will win here as well.

    202. Gatorbillyjoel says:

206 – you’re right – I forgot to mention that independents also hate Demented Don. You’re not talking to the 2.5 million NC voters that are voting Biden. Oh, but I forgot about the boat parade.

    210. Wes says:

Should I clap, Troll? Richard Burr was running about the same this time in 2016 against an equally unimpressive candidate in Deborah Ross. I called Burr’s win exactly on the margin that year.

    211. Tgca says:

Yep. After indoctrination in public schools in NJ where JFK was portrayed a hero, I read about the Kennedy clan. Their father would get a 50 year jail sentence today for the things he did. The Kennedy men were under achievers who got sold to the public as over achievers. They also abused women and would make Weinstein blush.

JFK was not the sharpest knife in the drawer and daddy paid for his grades and image grooming.

Robert was a false prophet for the AA community. Read Thurgood Marshall bio where he states Robert making condescending comments to him about “your people.”

Teddy was definitely the worst of them with too many scandals to count.

Jackie O. turned out to be a bigoted racist too when they released her tapes on MLK.

The list goes on and on.

    212. lisab says:

    214. Wes says:

Biden’s no Obama, and Trump’s no McCain. Gillis is no Liddy Dole either. This isn’t 2008, and Democrats don’t win here by running as far left as Biden and Cunningham are.

    215. Annie says:

      211. Leaking a person’s taxes without permission is a crime. That said, if Trump had any problem with the IRS, they would have thrown the book at him long ago. The 2016 and 2017 low amounts paid make sense, since he put his holdings in trust and turned over the business to the children. He supposedly doesn’t keep his salary as POTUS, but gives it away to charity.

    216. Wes says:

I know for a fact from your references you don’t know a goddamn thing about this state except maybe where to find it on a map.

Go peddle your nonsense on DailyKos.

    217. Bitterlaw says:

As far as I know, Trump did nothing illegal in regard to his tax returns and payments. He should have given them to Pelosi and Schumer on 1/20/17 and said, “Here you go, GFY.” Both can be true.

    229. Tgca says:

      224

      No! No! …and No!

You NEVAH EVAH publicly release your tax info during an audit. It can result in very bad press for you and poison the process due to public scrutiny that can bias the auditors.

No tax accountant or attorney would EVAH suggest that. It greatly weakens your ability to defend and settle, especially if the items under audit have legitimate differences to argue with the IRS since not all Tax Regs are clear or even up to date. As long as you document your position in good faith when you file, you can avoid certain penalties and often get a more favorable settlement.

Tax law is vastly complicated and it’s the reason they have their own court to address these issues because most people do not understand the thousands of pages of Code or regs and juries are not equipped to absorb the issues generally raised in such audits.

    230. lisab says:

I think there was a lot of booze involved, too.

I grew up in Florida, went to college in NC, worked in Charlotte after college for seven years, and now live in the Dallas area. Even if I had never stepped foot in the state, I could see that NC is slipping away from Trump and is gone for Tillis.

    232. Bitterlaw says:

229 Damn, Wes. He clearly used to live in NC? Who else but somebody who lived in NC even knows about Duke having a basketball team?

By the way, I thought more native North Carolinians are UNC fans and think Duke is filled with Northern elitists.

The 2018 Dem nominee Gillum turns out to be a drunken dope addict and securing services from male ptostitutes.

Oh yeah! He would have made a great Governor for FL. Who was his mentor? Marion Barry?

    235. Wes says:

Hell, I think Biden is going to win nationally, but even among the people I talk to on a daily basis in different parts of this state, I see very little enthusiasm for getting rid of Trump. NC is a right-leaning state that has gone Democrat for President once in my lifetime–by a whopping .3%–after far more assiduous courting of the state by the Dem nominee than Biden has engaged in, with a major assist from a far more unpopular GOP President than Trump.

I hope the Gatortroll’s ebullience over an easy win for Biden here is reflective of the attitude of all the Dems in this state.

Their apathy will lead to sweet tears in November.

    236. Annie says:

I suggest “Gator” in Dallas take a look at the Trafalgar Group polling for NC.

    237. Gatorbillyjoel says:

Suburban woman and independents are going to crush Trump. Not just in NC, but across the country. NC will be closer than many of the battleground states, but I see it falling in Biden’s column as well. Probably by a point.

    238. Wes says:

Bitter, UNC and Duke are the major college rivalry in this state. That’s well known among college basketball fans. He clearly picked the slightly lesser known partner in that rivalry so as not to make his lack of knowledge of NC too obvious.

    239. Tgca says:

      241

      That’s 2024 POTUS of course…2028 too.

      Then Ivanka 2032 and 2036.

Too bad we have to wait until 2044 for Barron.

    240. Bitterlaw says:

Because of my many nights at Polar Bar and Darwin’s Theory in Anchorage, I can safely predict Senator Murkowski will be re-elected the next time she runs.

Don’t doubt me. Nobody could possibly type Best dive bars in Alaska and get such information.

    241. Gatorbillyjoel says:

In all fairness, I think Nevada has a chance to flip for Trump due to Biden’s talk of shutting things down again and how that would impact the tourism industry. Will crush the spirits of the unions that Democrats count on to turn out the vote to win that state.

WI, MI, PA, NC, AZ, and MN are all going Biden. FL will be incredibly close.

    242. Annie says:

“Gator” in Dallas should also keep in mind what I posted previously in #126 in regard to many polls this year.

    243. Wes says:

Even McCain carried NC Indies. It was the lopsided Dem turnout in 2008 that negated the chance of a McCain win here.

You have to know absolutely nothing about this state not to know which way NC Indies lean.

    244. Annie says:

      247. Murkowski would just pull the same write-in stunt she did last time if anyone tries to take her out in a primary…

    245. Gatorbillyjoel says:

I’ve been a Cameron Crazy since Christian Laettner. I am not disputing that I don’t live in the state now. I don’t even think it matters since I think the trend in this election that we will see across the country is suburban women, independents, and college-educated whites giving Trump the big thumbs down.

    246. Wespl says:

You made even Bitterlaw lampoon your obvious lack of familiarity with NC and its politics, Troll.

      That’s a major accomplishment.

    247. Wes says:

Heh. I was wondering where that pl went when I was typing.

    248. Gatorbillyjoel says:

Sarah Palin primarying Murkowski is a dangerous proposition for Republicans. She isn’t that popular in the state anymore and you know Democrats would donate their last dollar to beat her. I can’t imagine she would actually even want that job, though.

    249. Wes says:

He was making fun of you by citing a Google search of a state he has no ties to, Gatortroll.

    250. Annie says:

      244. This white, extremely college-educated, working mother, female suburbanite is assuring you, “Gator,” that you shouldn’t buy all the Democrats’ hype. You are going to be very disappointed if you do.

    251. Gatorjoel says:

Well Wes, I do know your state, right down to Bullocks and Angus Barn, Asheville and Ocean Isle Beach, and Goodberrys in Raleigh. And needless to say your state is turning as blue as the Tar Heels’ road jerseys. Too many progressive folks in RTP and folks moving from the NE to Charlotte. Landslide coming!!

    252. Wes says:

This guy knows about as much about NC politics as I know about the political parties in San Marino–that is, nothing.

    253. Gatorbillyjoel says:

I get that. But, I don’t really care. I’ve given my reasons for thinking that Biden will win decisively on Nov. 3 and those blocs of voters will carry him in NC as well IMO. I’m not concerned with whether you think I lived in the state or have a degree from Duke or not.

SC won’t flip to Dems but it is becoming a problem for Republicans. NC, and then SC could follow in VA’s footsteps and become reliable blue states in future elections. SC won’t flip at the presidential level this time but it is a bit ironic that many of the people that were brought to the state by Republican efforts for jobs will turnaround and vote Dem. It is happening here in Texas as well. Hate to see it 🙂

    254. Gatorjoel says:

Too bad Harvey Gantt is not still around. He would easily beat a partisan hack like Tillis.

    255. Gatorbillyjoel says:

    256. Wes says:

Last time the Northeastern liberals in the state delivered a decisive Dem victory was in 2008. Since then, Dems have gotten all of Roy Cooper by a plurality of the vote because of the so-called “Bathroom Bill.” They couldn’t even achieve a victory in the least Republican congressional district in the state in 2018 with their dream candidate against a weak GOP nominee–nor in the resulting special election.

You might want to look at NC now and not during the Bush Administration.

    257. Gatorjoel says:

      2020 will be no different.

    260. Gatorbillyjoel says:

I get what you are saying, but I think this will be an election where most of the battleground break against Trump just like they broke for him four years ago. I didn’t mean to imply that I had some superior knowledge of NC, so I apologize if it came across that way. My thoughts on NC are similar to what they are for the other battlegrounds.

On the Senate race, Tillis and Cunningham both benefit from the other being a poor candidate. Tillis is trailing trump, lagging in his numbers for an incumbent, and an election that I think will break for the Dems nationally, just think it spells doom for him.

Have a good night, – since it is apparently 12:40 there in North Carolina according to my friend Google 😉

The Democrat’s concern over late mail ballots and post election maneuvering doesn’t square logically with their belief they really have a 8-10 point lead.Or am I missing something?

    276. OHIO Joe says:

While it is technically possible the we have a 269 to 269 tie and it is also possible that there is one or two faithless electors in a very close race, the possibility the the House deciding who is President is very slim. If a state fails outright to certify a slate of electors, the winner does not need 270 points, the winner only needs 50% plus one of Electors present at the Electoral College, not 270.

    277. Hugh says:

The importance of the debate is not who wins it. It is whether trump can make the points about biden that many don’t know about because the press will not report them. Free healthcare for illegals for instance. He can lose a post debate poll for who won the debate and get as post debate bump if he can expose biden. There is no opportunity for biden to drive up trump’s negatives with the press having attacked him four straight years but trump has lots of opportunity to drive up biden negatives. For me I’m going to see infidel during the debates.

    281. dblaikie says:

Rasmussen is tweeting that due to weak overnight results Trump is sharply down this morning. This is typical of this tracking poll on weekends. I suppose it will be 3 or 4 points. However even when Trump’s numbers go way up take all polls with a dose of cynicism. In the last decade in every election in the free world that uses all these companies like yougov and ipsos polling has failed miserably. I will say what I said before, the polling industry is broken.

    285. Hugh says:

      288. Ras Could be nyt report, could be outlier. When you poll 6 days a week you will get those days. The nyt story like Atlantic story will cause a ripple for a while. I’m glad they released it prior to the debate as it gives trump a chance to give his spin without the media filter. Also I would use it to contrast how unfairly he is treated versus Biden. That will resonate with independents.

    291. Sheeple,Jr. says:

      #292- Hugh
It’s not the NY Times Report because the article was released last evening ans Ras’ Suday polling extends from 900:a.m.- 1:00p.m.(ET).
A huge positive polling day burned off yesterday plus typical Ras Sunday polling were the reasons.

    292. dblaikie says:

Biden’s “massive” ad buy could also be desperation, which is just as likely. When I see Trump go to central Ohio — out of the Michigan and Pa markets — I will wonder if Ohio is up for grabs.

    293. dblaikie says:

Just the way tracking polls work, that is why looking at them day by day is counter productive. Instead you look for longer term trends. Now when the Sunday average rolls off and Trump doesn’t gain a point or two then that would reveal some downward movement in the electorate according to Rasmussen.

    294. Gordon Allen says:

That would mean a result on Sunday in the 30’s. That
couldn’t be the Times story as it wouldn’t have been in the public domain long enough to register like that. I don’t remember any one day drop like that. Maybe the anti Barrett barrage had an effect,or Rasmussen is setting up a strong Biden head to head for Wednesday ( is they’re herding toward the polls median

    295. dblaikie says:

Regardless of what the polls say today, the debate will shake things up. How much is another question.

    296. Tina says:

    298. Stonewall DW says:

      Gravis B
      Suffolk University B-

301 You are right. There was no story or reason for the poll to move that much. That means Sunday was an outlier. Folks, on the other side of the coin, the same is true when Trump moves up 5 or 6 points in one day. Don’t believe it until another week of polling smooth out the average. When you are in the field every day outliers once or twice a month is expected — either way.

    301. pitchaboy says:

I posted this 2 months ago here and am doing it again. None of this matters: polls, debates, dementia, taxes, scandals. Only thing that really matters is if the 8th circuit and Supremes do what the 7th circuit has done. You shut down ballot harvesting, Slo Jo is screwed as he has no ground game. Unless a huge number of Trump voters were against the nomination of Amy there is no reason for the average to move that much. True movements in the electorate don’t happen based on nothing. They are moved by events. You don’t have huge one day swings on a tracking poll based on nothing.

Graham made his early career about being a McCain maverick clone, but he’s spent the last four being one of Trump’s biggest advocates. Originally, he pissed on the base and pleased the more moderate wing. Now, he’s pleased the base and struggled with the more moderate wing.

I’d look for Graham, should Trump not win, to steer a course that’s much more in between the two versions of himself. He couldn’t go wrong being more like Tim Scott.

    317. MrVito says:

So I’m looking at the Times…

Trump filed for extensions in 2016 and 2017, paying a total of 5.2 million in estimated tax. Most of that liability was not applied when filing, so he rolled it over to future tax liabilities.

So technically, the Treasury got 5.2 million from him in 2016-17 that will be applied to future taxes.

    318. Tina says:

The slimes claim he filed extensions and paid potential taxes in 2016 and 2017, which were then wiped away when he actually filed.

The 2016 and 2017 payments made upon filing the extensions were $1 million and $4.2 million.

The slimes then said those payments were applied to a later tax year.

You may have noticed that the New York Times made a very big deal of reporting that Trump paid $750 in federal income tax in 2016 and $750 in 2017. They say they have 18 years of data. Do you have a problem with asking about the other years?

    339. Robbie says:

Here is what the US biodefense strategy says about Fauci’s quarantines.

“The negative consequences of large scale quarantine are so extreme (forced confinement of sick people with the well; complete restriction of movement of large populations; difficulty in getting supplies, medicines, and foods to people inside the quarantine zone) that this mitigation measure should be eliminated from serious consideration.”

So again, why did Presidential Medal of Freedom winner Fauci make suggestions that he knew were widely viewed as terrible, ineffective, and destructive? The man’s a menace who promotes pseudoscience.

    340. Tina says:

Amazing the number of people who characterize wanting to know what Trump paid in federal income tax for each of the 18 years covered in NYT story, 2000 to 2017, as ‘spin.’

    341. Robbie says:

In late 2019, the WHO (not a my favorite group) put out recommendations for how to handle a pandemic. They also recommended things that should NOT be done. Here are a few items:

      Contract tracing
      Quarantine
      Border closure
      Internal travel restrictions
      UV light

The question that should be asked of Presidential Medal of Freedom winner Fauci is why did he panic in March 2020 and recommend all of the things the health community at the highest level agreed just months before would be terrible medical ideas?

    342. jason says:

Since Robbie regularly lies about what Fauci says or quotes him out of context, here is what Fauci actually said.

“That is something that we really need to be careful about, because when you’re dealing with community spread and you have the kind of congregate setting where people get together particularly without masks, you’re really asking for trouble,” he said. “Now’s the time actually to double down a bit.”

That doesn’t mean another shutdown, he noted.

“We’re not talking about shutting anything down. We’re talking about common sense type of public health measures that we’ve been talking about all along,” he said. “Obviously, if things really explode you’d have to consider that. But we want to do everything we possibly can to avoid an absolute shutdown.”

WE ARE NOT TALKING ABOUT SHUTTING ANYTHING DOWN.

Today, Florida recorded just 738 new corona cases, but Presidential Medal of Freedom winner Fauci believes it’s too dangerous to allow Americans to will as they choose. It shows what an old fool Fauci is that he thinks 738 cases in a state of 20 million is large spread.

In “late 2019” nobody knew anything about COVID-19 except for a few accounts from China.

So obviously WHO at the time would refer to other pandemics.

      – Coronavirus is just another upper respiratory illness like influenza, rhinoviruses, and the other coronas that circulate freely in the population. The idea that it was some sort of unique death-bringer that required the likes of Fauci to throw out the well defined rulebook and on how to handle URI outbreaks was nonsense, especially after we saw the data from China and Italy.

China strolled around the world extolling the use of quarantines because they wanted to make sure the rest of the world suffered the same economic hit they did. Throw in a BS computer model from Neil Ferguson and Fauci fell for it hook, line, and sinker.

And even to this day, Dr. Scarf Lady is still running around the country demanding governors close bars and anything else she thinks shouldn’t be open. Well, who elected her or Fauci for that matter to anything? It sure is easy for people who won’t lose a paycheck to tell everyone else to lose theirs or see their business close. Just who does Dr. Scarf think will compensate the people whose businesses are ruined by her?

      Suffolk University B-
      Selzer B-
      Gravis C+
      Survey USA C+
      Rasmussen C+
      Monmouth University C
      Siena College C
      Marist College C
      Quinnipiac University C
      Mason-Dixon C
      Public Policy Polling (D) C-
      IPSOS D-

And now here are pollsters that mostly poll just one state, so these grades are basically based on their final 2016 poll of the state shown in parenthesis:

      Sooner Poll (OK) A
      WBUR/MassINC (MA) A
      Field Research (CA) A-

      Hendrix College (AR) B
      Howey Politics Indiana (IN) B-
      Roanoke College (VA) B-
      Susquehanna Polling B-
Maine People’s Resource Center (ME) B-
Montana State University Billings (MT) C
      EPIC-MRA (MI) D+
      Saguaro Strategies (AZ) D
      Florida Atlantic University (FL) D

    380. Gatorbillyjoel says:

One thing that has to be frustrating to the Demented Don team is that the media isn’t playing his games this year. In 2016, they would go down whatever rabbit hole he sent them down when he started saying insane things. This year, when he is talking about adjusted sleep schedules or challenging Biden to a drug test, the media just (rightfully) ignores it. They can’t do anything to change the narrative off what a failure he is.

I doubt its about “policies” exactly.

It’s about ideology and system of government.

They have been brainwashed by an educational system that for decades has promoted socialism and denigrated merit, wealth, free enterprise, personal responsibility and capitalism, while at the same time disparaging the values on which our current system was built.

The chickens have come to roost, we know have generations of gatortrolls and roadkill maggots that embrace this change, and that is why I am not overly optimistic about Trump’s chances.

Those that vote for Biden-Harris know what they are voting for. They are not voting against Trump or for gun confiscation, this is much more profound than that.

Do you think there is actually anyone voting Dem that does not think Dems favor defunding the police, or that they support the looting and riots, they favor partial birth abortion, open borders, etc. Don’t you think these CEOs from big companies buying into BLM know that Biden will increase corporate taxes, one of the biggest factors keeping the US from being competitive overseas and which Trump addressed in his tax bill?

If Biden wins, its because a majority of Americans have been convinced we should, in simplistic terms, change a merit based society into a nanny (everyone gets a trophy).

We are at a crossroads. And a 6-3 conservative majority is not going to stop galloping socialism.

    428. Greymarch says:

Something I’ve thinking about regarding what Biden must do during tomorrow’s debate….

Obviously, Biden must avoid any major gaffes. I think he also needs to avoid getting into the mud with Trump. Yesterday, Biden compared Trump to Goebbels. Way, way, way over the top. One of the major reasons people want to vote for Biden is because he comes off as likeable, as civil, as someone who will take us back to how politics use to be, before Trump. If Biden gets into the mud with Trump, Biden could lose a chunk of the voters who are voting for him because he’s “sweet Uncle Joe.” Some voters might think Biden is just another 21st century jerk politician.

    429. Stonewall DW says:

And Monmouth has a C rating by Paladin. Not a pollster who detected the 2016 Trump victory.

    430. Robbie says:

This has nothing to do with 2020, but I am, more and more, totally on board with Haley/DeSantis ticket in 2024.

I think Nikki Haley brings together all of the factions of the Republican Party that have drifted apart over the last five years. I think she would have support in the suburbs and the rural areas and I think she would easily unite the Tea Party, establishment, and Trump populists.

After the tumult of the last few years, especially 2020 and the fallout still to come, she could have a Reagan effect on the party.

    431. OHIO Joe says:

Mr. Limbaugh of the EIB network just shared some information from a friend who spoke to a pollster. The bottom line is that polling companies are over polling Suburban Republicans and under polling rural Democrats in order to get a Pro-Biden sample without having to get too many overall Democrats proportionally. If the same patterns in Ohio are happening in other states, bad polling is starting to make sense. Based on internal GOP polling, whether Ohio goes Trump by 5 points or 10 points, Biden will most likely out-preform Hillary in and around Ohio’s large cites while the Trump vote will increase in the rest of the state compared to 2016.

Someone in the health care industry who I trust, said that his health office got an e-mail saying that in the next few days 200000 doses of vaccine are being delivered to North Carolina to give to front line health care workers. The vaccine being sent is one of those that require two doses. If this is happening in North Carolina it is happening all over.

If the Government didn’t know that the results would be positive do you think that they would be sending out the vaccine this early. The vaccine is coming folks. The October surprise is now being delivered to health systems in North Carolina and I would wager many places.

    466. dblaikie says:

I’ve been on reserve for three months and am about to lose my 3 takeoffs and landings in the last 90 days. Of course, with furlough starting Thursday, who cares about the 90 day currency!

From what I was reading, the GOP has a HUGE ground game in MI.

    605. Gordon Allen says:

Pitchaboy. My question exactly. A reasonable surmise is they are not that confident. But maybe not really is as in many respects we’re in unchartered waters. In a duh! moment the first debate is crucial. I ran into a woman today in the neighborhood who I have pegged as a Biden voter; she voted for Hillary. In my discussion with her( pleasant) I found her aghast that Biden is open borders and free healthcare for illegals; she had not the slightest idea.
Biden being silent has helped him immensely because few know how leftist he is; they think he’s Clinton/Obama redux. Trump has to be substantive on the different country envisaged, and only engage in ad hominem attacks if necessary and opportune. Biden does not stand on popui ground in most instances, but I fear few really know where he is; the bunker strategy has worked so far.,PS my Clinton/ Biden voter is gettable.

    606. Stonewall DW says:

PA still looks better than MI, when doing the grouping comparison:

For recent MI polls they can easily be grouped this way:

      MoE results (0-3 point gap)

      Trafalgar
Epoch Times – Rust Belt poll

      Slim Biden lead (4-6 points)

      Hart Research (D)
      MRG
      Data for Progress (D)
      YouGov
      IPSOS
      Change Research (D)

      Significant Biden lead (7-11 points)

      Baldwin Wallace University
      Marist
      Change Research (D)
      Redfield and Wilton (D)
      Civiqs (D)
      EPIC/MRA
Benenson Strategy Group (D) /GS Strategy Group (R)

But wow, there are very few friendly pollsters there in MI. Most have the (D) after the name, and many that don’t might as well.

Barnes completely took over Baris Inside the Numbers today. I think Baris was a little annoyed by it too. He wanted to focus on Florida…Barnes cant get over himself in talking about what a risk and threa ACB nomination is to Trump being relected. How does he know that other woman could handle the pressure? He doesnt. He is butthurt. I had to fast forward some of it while driving around running errands.

I wish someone would poll Vigo County in Indiana.

As it was 4 years ago, I will figure on taking up another language, or improving my golf game, or traveling more, IF Trump loses.

I don’t understand the panic by some. We will fight for every vote until they are counted, and hopefully we will have enough to be outside the margin of Democratic fraud.

“When in the course of human events…..”…….if those men were clear-headed enough to send King George that letter, let’s keep our wits about us until that time comes.

      Hopefully, it won’t.

    611. NYCmike says:

And 3 cheers for ACB, may she be as well-written as Scalia and as tough as Thomas.

    612. Pitchaboy says:

Anyone DJT picked was going to be attacked on healthcare. The SC pick makes no difference to his electoral chances. None of the pollsters understand turnout and are struggling with it. If the SC restricts mail in vote they will use a lower turnout model. Guys like Trafalgar and Baris are predicating their polls on a 2016 type turnout. Remains to be seen.

    613. phoenixrisen says:

Trump is going to win handily on Election Day barring something freakish. The enthusiasm and ground game is just enormously in Trump’s favor. Large segment of Never Trumpers and libertarians who voted for Gary Johnson in 2016 will add significantly to Trump’s popular vote nationwide. These trolls are amusing.

I don’t know anybody who voted for Gary Johnson, I really would like to think what these people are thinking.

I went to Jorgensen’s website. Not very impressive but here is her platform.

      Jo’s Vision for Our Future

Generations of Republican and Democrat politicians have failed the people of America. Together they’ve given us:

Over $26 trillion in debt, trillion-dollar deficits, plus trillions more in unfunded liabilities – maybe but she won’t fix it
Non-Stop Involvement in expensive and deadly foreign war – Trump says the same BS
Skyrocketing health care costs – And?
The highest imprisonment rate in the world; even higher among racial minorities and the poor
      – Trump is addressing
A broken retirement system unable to pay promised benefits – And?
Tariffs that are destroying markets for American farmers and raising consumer prices – YES, music to my ears, but not enough
Energy policies driven by special interests – Huh?

Kamala Harris with a groundbreaking revelation that you don’t see the same police presence in upper middle class suburbs as you do in high crime areas. I know this is gonna be a shocker so sit down but it’s because of the crime rates @KamalaHarris. Exploding headFace with rolling eyes

    619. Justin says:

626 is that the one that is a panel and not a poll?

Also, I think Baris is right about the LV screening out Trump voters. Many of his voters are not every election voters and frankly may not be turning out if it wasn’t for Trump. I think that is why the LV screening is doing weird things like giving the Dem bigger leads than RV samples.

ALLEGATIONS OF VOTER FRAUD BEING EVALUATED. White heavy check mark The MPD is aware of the allegations of vote harvesting. We are in the process of looking into the validity of those statements. No further information is available at this time on this.

The Fauci-Love from the Llama-lover, especially when pointed out by the Mayor of Pogo Loco, HHR’s newest Trump voter, is just downright hilarious to behold!

    623. Justin says:

Did Baris ever say what his New Hampshire numbers were?

    624. Gordon Allen says:

The last Atlanta Federal Reserve GDP figure for the 3rd quarter is 32%,the highest quarterly growth rate ever recorded ( without a stimulus). Meanwhile here in Florida Biden is running ads here saying the economy can’t grow again until ” Trump does his job and defeats the virus”!! We had 750 ” cases” the other day.
Seriously,no one with an IQ above 60 could possibly vote for this guy. I know the dumbing down of America is occurring, but has it gone down that far,?? I guess we’ll find out.

If you go from 100 to 50% of the GDP during a downturn, but the you have a 50% rebound from those reduced level you don’t go back to 100% rather that would be at only 75%.

That’s why these increases in gdp growth rates and other numbers we are given continue to be so misleading.

I see it as secular stagnation
