Trump Leads Biden By 5% Nationally

Despite the January 6th hearings and all the bad press Donald Trump has been getting lately, we have a new poll from Emerson College yesterday that shows he would still defeat Joe Biden in a 2024 rematch.

    PRESIDENT – NATIONAL (Emerson)
    Donald Trump (R) 44%
    Joe Biden (D-inc) 39%

IN the primary race, the poll did not seem to include many names, but the bottom line is Republicans seem to still want Donald Trump to be the face of their party.

PRESIDENT – NATIONAL – GOP PRIMARY (Emerson)
    Donald Trump 55%
    Ron DeSantis 20%
    Mike Pence 9%
    Nikki Haley 3%
    Mike Pompeo 1%

This poll was done June 28-29 among 1271 registered voters.

Was there a bad poll for Biden?

Amoral Scumbag calls Trump “twice impeached” as if those were not bogus kangaroo court “impeachments”.

In my view, Trump should wear those “impeachments” as a badge of honor.

I know what is really bothering Amoral Scumbag.

Despite being twice impeached and despite all the negative propaganda the last 6 years, Trump still leads Amoral Scumbag’s candidate by 6.

That must be one heck of a butt hurt.

I think Jared Polis (D-CO) would be the Dems’ most formidable candidate next time. He avoided the COVID restriction excesses of most of his colleagues, established his bona fides with social liberals comprising a large voting bloc in the Dem Party, and can point to fiscal restraint because of TABOR.

He’s also a fairly young fresh face with no direct connection to the mess in Washington. He’ll win reelection handily against a pretty strong GOP opponent too this year.

I doubt Dems have anyone stronger.

    21. NYCmike says:

      Wes,
That same friend lives in Colorado. Can’t stand Polis.

Of course, the only reason for that is his unemployment wages from the beginning of the pandemic are still in limbo for some reason!

That said, I told him that if it was Trump (or Desantis) vs Polis in 2024, he would find Polis acceptable…….he didn’t respond, so I took that as a big fat YES!

    22. Wes says:

Polis is like a gay Bill Clinton, Mikey: acceptable to all wings of his party while having legitimate potential crossover appeal to voters from the opposition.

I don’t know if he’ll run in 2024 or wait a cycle, but Republicans would have a very hard time against him. Depending on circumstances at the time, he wouldn’t necessarily be a lock, but he has enough political skills and achievements to run better than any other Dem currently on the national radar.

      Seen on Instapundit.com:

“NO MORE US FUNDS FOR WUHAN LAB: It got little media coverage but the House Appropriations Committee approved a provision barring any U.S. funds from being used to support China’s Wuhan lab.

There is a key lesson here for the Republicans if they regain congressional majorities in November: If you don’t support a federal activity, any federal activity, STOP FUNDING IT. And remember, when Biden, the Dems and the Media begin screaming, under the Constitution, you have all the leverage because you control the budget.

Approve a budget minus the stuff you oppose, then challenge Biden to sign it or shut down the government. The onus on any subsequent shutdown is then on the Democrat in the White House, not Republican majority in Congress.

And one more thing: Stop thinking of the annual federal budget as an executive branch management blueprint. That kind of budget thinking is a product of the Wilsonian progressive era. The Constitution’s budget is a tool for legislative direction of the executive branch’s administration and enforcement of the law.”

Agreed! Especially on that last one, Wes and jason!

Friday morning I was in Washington D.C. in my car at the drive-thru at Starbucks on Georgia Street or Park I believe was the address. This is the 2nd time I’ve ever been to the City. I went there 2 weeks ago to train city employees having to do with cleaning high schools during this pandemic. I was stationed at Roosevelt School in Washington DC and spent 2 weeks training. There was a huge black SUV ahead of me in the drive-thru and one in back of me which I didn’t know at the time. Somehow I got in between these 2 cars and the driver in the car ahead of me got out of his car and walked past me to the SUV behind me. Suddenly the passenger of the SUV behind got out of his car and they both walked together beside my car on my drivers side back to SUV in front of me. While they were walking by the side of my car I could hear what both guys were saying to each other because my window was down as I was 3 cars away from giving my order. Both guys were wearing black shirts, black jackets and black pants. Both guys were white and both the same age of about 50-55. One guy said to the other as they passed me by…”It’s all about the pandemic. It’s Rice. Biden going with who he knowns. The schedule is set.”

I sat in my car and wondered for a moment what does the food Rice have to do with Covid 19. Not until after I put my coffee order in did I figure out what the hell it all meant. After I drove off with my coffee I parked my car in the adjacent parking lot and waited for the black SUV behind me to leave the drive-thru so I could follow the car even though the car had neither men inside. The black SUV in front of me was long gone. The black SUV I was going to attempt to follow took off after receiving their order and it drove about 3 short blocks before it went into a paid parking ramp.

Amazing how Michael Vick, still running scams and still has people willing to “buy his debt”.

“But the latest judgment stems from two completely separate loans, also with Atlantic. The money was to be paid back by the sale of the Vicks’ former home in Broward County and “funds from Mr. Vick’s retirement and pension accounts with the National Football League,” according to the suit filed in Maryland. That debt was eventually sold to a broker company called SMA Hub, which divvied up interest in the loans and sold them to six different people: Li Xu and Hong Jiang, of Kernsersville, North Carolina; Lorraine Wood, of Aston, Pennsylvania; Rajeh and Sangita Garg, of Naperville, Illinois; and Sandra Pierce, of Pflugerville, Texas. ‘I’m in a pickle’ Pierce, a 60-year-old grandmother, is a teacher’s assistant in the town outside Austin. Through a co-worker’s investment manager, she learned about the broker company’s “NFL tax-qualified annuity program.” She poured in her $50,000 life savings, thinking it was a better investment than, say, a 401(k) that depended on the stock market. In all, the return on the investment was to be about 5.5 percent over six years. “I thought annuities were rock solid,” she said in an interview. “I would get a nice chunk every May 1, for six years. The risk wouldn’t be there.” But Vick never paid. Pierce, who had hoped to retire next year, is now struggling to make ends meet — her savings are gone, and she was forced recently to take a four-month leave from work because of a flare-up with her multiple sclerosis. “I’m hoping the Vicks will do the right thing and pay,” Pierce said. “I want to have security and breathe easier. I don’t want to have to sell my house. I’m in a pickle right now.” After none of the payments were made to the creditors, a court in Anne Arundel County, Maryland, issued the judgments against Vick in March. The group is “just the latest people who Mr. Vick has stiffed,” according to the Maryland lawsuit filed by Baltimore attorneys Kevin Docherty and Andrew Freeman.”

What he’s saying: “Freedom is under attack in your state,” Newsom said in the advertisement. “Your Republican leaders, they’re banning books, making it harder to vote, restricting speech in classrooms, even criminalizing women and doctors.”

“I urge all of you living in Florida to join the fight or join us in California where we still believe in freedom — freedom of speech, freedom to choose, freedom from hate and the freedom to love,” he added. “Don’t let them take your freedom.””

The President of Kazakhstan told Putin at a meeting he would not recognize Putin’s Donbass puppet state.

“Tokayev responded to a question from Russian propagandist Margarita Simonyan about Russia’s war against Ukraine.

Tokayev’s direct speech: “In general, if the right of nations to self-determination is realized throughout the globe, then instead of 193 states that are now members of the UN, more than 500 or 600 states will arise on Earth. Naturally, it will be chaos.

Therefore, we do not recognize Taiwan, Kosovo, South Ossetia, or Abkhazia. This principle will be applied to quasi-state associations, which, in my opinion, are Luhansk and Donetsk (the so-called DPR and LPR)”.

The released video shows that Putin stumbled for a few seconds and could not answer.”

Given Turkey’s recent support for Finland and Sweden joining NATO, and Putin’s angry response, doubt the Turkic Central Asian states, like Kazakhstan and Azerbaijan, are that interested in being part of a new Soviet Union.

      HAPPY BIRTHDAY AMERICA!!!

No matter how much people wish to make AMERICA into AMERIKA, I am grateful to be an American and proud to live in this great country, warts and all.

I’ve got ancestry in this country going back over 300 years, well before the trannies and gays fought in the Revolutionary War to free us from the tyranny of now the commoner Harry of Montecito ancestors with bad teeth so I’ll always have roots here…even if my people were in bondage at one point.

I have been truly blessed to have called America my birthplace and home even if I grew up in the bad parts of Newark instead of the good parts of Philadelphia.

I am among the MINORITY (in the polls now) that are proud to be an American and proud of America, our foundation on God-given and rights and principles and what our nation has stood for over the years.

America–the bright beacon of hope for many people throughout the world and an example of a system of life and government to emulate.

America–historically the first country to rush to the aid of other countries in need due to natural or man-made disasters.

America–Land of the Free and Home of the Brave, despite some flaws and some unsettling chapters (where we as a nation sometimes ‘got it wrong’) in its remarkable and mostly proud history.
On balance, greatest nation ever seen on this planet.

      ********************************************

Now, if we can just return to:

      –the path of common sense
      –sense of unity
      –pride in our country
      –accountability
      –civil discourse
–respect and dignity for others who have differing opinions
–the era before anti-freedom; woke-ism; businesses, education system, churches, performers, TV/media producers/Hollywood stars/media FAIING to stay “in their lane” and doing what they are supposed to do; feeling ‘entitled’; ‘oppressed’; ‘offended-ness’; disunity and division; actually solving problems; dis-civil discourse; emotion-centered ignorance that trumps truth and rational thought; a pandemic of false narratives; and before ‘environment’ became a religion, no bad consequences for bad behavior, etc.

The most important number relationship – Biden approval and the generic D number.

      – Blizzard is probably the sharpest and most respected Republican pollster there is right now. He polls for actual candidates running for office and their super pacs so his data has to be on the mark. That’s a stark contrast from the hucksters who aren’t affiliated with campaigns and appear on cable news to provide numbers that are always massaged.

I posted this tweet because Blizzard made clear presidential job approval matters and is highly predictive of a party’s chances, especially in midterm years. Of course, Jason fraud repeatedly told everyone Trump’s low approval in 2018 didn’t matter at all, but he’s also the guy who said Republicans should give up on the suburbs.

Maybe polarization has gotten so much worse since then that this time will be different. And this years’ slate of GOP Senate candidates might well be the weakest in living memory. But for me that goes to uncertainty. My baseline expectation is that gravity wins.

      – A couple of weeks ago, the usual suspects attacked me for noting this year’s crop of Republican Senate candidates was unusually weak given the national mood that exists. In this tweet, Trende notes the same.

    133. jason says:

Great Mayor you have there, Bitter.

“Two police officers were shot and injured in front of the Philadelphia Art Museum while on duty at the city’s Independence Day celebrations on Monday night. The incident caused stampedes of people watching fireworks on the Benjamin Franklin Parkway to flee what they believed was an active shooting.

Though the investigation is still ongoing and no suspects have been arrested yet, the response from Philadelphia Mayor Jim Kenney (D) to the incident is in some ways eclipsing the story of the actual shootings because of how shocking his statement was.

“There’s not an event or a day where I don’t lay on my back and look at the ceiling and worry about st-ff. So everything we have in the city over the last seven years, I worry about. I don’t enjoy Fourth of July, I don’t enjoy the Democratic National Convention. I didn’t enjoy the NFL draft. I’m waiting for something bad to happen all the time. So I’ll be happy when I’m not here, when I’m not mayor and I can enjoy some st-ff.”

    134. jason says:

Of course, Jason fraud repeatedly told everyone Trump’s low approval in 2018 didn’t matter at all, but he’s also the guy who said Republicans should give up on the suburbs.”

    139. jason says:

I guess Bitter and Kenney agree there is no problem with Philadelphia…

“It’s hard to blame Kenney for not wanting to lead a city where Democrat policies — that is, his own — have made the streets exceedingly dangerous — but then it’s on Kenney to make the changes necessary to uphold the rule of law, which he and his fellow Dem leaders refuse to do. In addition to Mayor Kenney, embattled District Attorney Larry Krasner has defied calls for law and order to be restored while the City of Brotherly Love smashes all-time homicide records — 562 slayings in 2021 and 267 killed so far in 2022 — but D.A. Krasner denies the city has a violence or crime problem.”

    140. Bitterlaw says:

The Art Museum area has a small residential area. Fairmount is a gentrified old neighborhood. A few condos high rises. Boathouse Row does not have residents. Maybe it was a dispute between fans of Tori Kelly and Ava Max.

Now that abortion has come back to the forefront, some Lefties are realizing: Oh sh*t! We’ve spent the last 10 years destroying our argument that abortion is a “women’s rights” issue, what do we do now? Of course, we denounce woke terms such as “birthing people” as conservative misogyny.

You cannot believe both of these things:

After the Supreme Court ruling overturning Roe v. Wade, several major corporations announced large cash prizes for women who would still travel to obtain an abortion. “It’s true that ultimately, paying women to get an abortion is way cheaper than paying for maternity leave or losing that employee should they choose to stay home with their kids,” said Amazon manager Martin Solter. “Which is why here at Amazon, we are generously offering to throw in a free trip to Disney for each abortion our employees get! We will also be introducing a rewards program where women can earn even bigger prizes for getting multiple abortions.””

In a recent thread there was a discussion of why Utah was lukewarm to Trump. Agree with the comments that the main reason is the prosperity and conservative culture of the state makes it hard for Utahns to understand the angst and rhetoric of Trump. Plus, when your state is economically thriving, rage is hard to come by:

“The state of Utah is number one, and continues to lead with its growing economy. Utah’s economy ranks No. 1 among all 50 states, according to rankings just released by U.S. News & World Report, a global authority in economic rankings. The publication’s rankings are based on about 70 metrics and thousands of data points to capture how states best serve their citizens across eight categories including: healthcare, education, infrastructure and the economy.

The state’s robust list of accomplishments certainly demands attention, including being the best-managed state in America, and is the number one state for economic outlook and recovery.

Utah also boasts a Triple-A bond rating, dating back to 1965 when Standard & Poor’s initiated its rating system. Today, all three rating organizations continue to classify Utah with a Triple-A bond rating.

Some of the state’s most recent No. 1 rankings include:

“Most Independent State” – 2020’s Most & Least Independent States – WalletHub, June 2020

“Best Economy” – The States With the Best and Worst Economies – 24/7 Wall St., August 2020

“Best Economy” – U.S. News & World Report, March 2021

“Best Economic Outlook” – Utah ranked No. 1 for the 14th year in a row in Rich States Poor States, May 2021

“Best States for GDP Growth” – Utah was No. 1 for GDP Growth, Forbes 2021

“Best State Economy” – Utah ranked No. 1 for best economy per WalletHub, June 2021

One correction to the discussion; Utah is 91% urban. It’s not a rural state.

The vast majority of Utah’s population is contained in 4 counties centered on Salt Lake City, Provo, and Ogden: Salt Lake County, Utah County, Davis County, and Weber County. This accounts for 2.3 million of Utah’s total population of a little over3 million. Cache County (Logan) and Washington County (St George) account for another 250,000 people. The rest of the population is spread over the other 23 counties. The majority of the state is empty and most people live in a concentrated urban area of the state.

Agree with Gordon, the Russian military has not been impressive:

“IN REALITY, the distance between Luhansk and Lysychansk is almost 117 kilometres. It takes an hour and 56 minutes to drive between the two. It took the Russian army 131 days to cover this distance. The only more or less formalized military “victory” (of course, temporary) in the war with Ukraine cost Putin more than 36,200 soldiers, 1,589 tanks, 3,754 armoured fighting vehicles, 804 units of artillery systems, 246 anti-aircraft guns, 105 air defence systems, 217 aircraft, 187 helicopters and some other “trinkets,” like the Moskva warship.

    237. Phil says:

Thats been my contention throughout the war that the Russian conventional military was waaaaay overrated. In fact, I was much more impressed with their image BEFORE the war than when we actually got to see them in action. It’s why the argument that Putin was somehow a realistic threat to Europe was laughable BS to me. You can make an argument that we needed to come to the aid of Ukraine out of principle – defending a nation from an unprovoked outside invasion blah blah blah…..but the argument that we needed to fight in Ukraine to stop Putin from going into Europe wasn’t anything but a scare tactic to get us into the middle of a war.

Putin would have been better off threatening people with his perception of a powerful military. Once he actually invaded a third rate country we all got to see that military in action and now his threats aren’t so scary – certainly any perceived threats aimed at Europe.

We did not realize the extent to which we were misled about Iraq until after 2010 as information came to light including Colin Powell and his staff seeking forgiveness for their so-called guilt by detailing things we did not know previously.

The fact that the SOS admitted to misleading information by the Intelligence Community occurred and that POTUS and his brain Cheney were not totally in the dark about it clearly demonstrates reason to question what happened in Iraq a decade earlier.

I don’t think the American people would have re-elected Bush in a close electoral college outcome had some of this info was known at the time that led to 4,000+ American military casualties.

Mistakes occurring are not the same as purposely misleading the country. Mistakes are forgivable. Sending US military to their deaths for a desired objective not necessary to the security of the US is not.

    253. Bitterlaw says:

“I wish the intelligence had been better” is not the same as a lie. It is the opposite of a lie.

    254. Wes says:

It’s an admission that the intelligence was a lie, Bitter. Of course I personally think he was just trying to shift blame elsewhere. I doubt GWB ever honestly thought Saddam was or could be a threat to the US. He just wanted to go to war with him and used Saddam’s mythological post-1991 WMDs as an excuse regardless of the specious nature of the rationale.

    255. Wes says:

I’m not sure what that word salad in 262 means, Tg, but have fun with it.

    256. Bitterlaw says:

264 is an admission by Wes that GWB did not say what Wes claimed he said.

    257. Bitterlaw says:

Ukraine was part of the Soviet Union. Putin ordered the invasion of Ukraine and Russia now controls hundreds of square miles of Ukraine’s territory. Russia already seized Crimea. Despite these facts, many at HHR deny that Putin is trying to recreate the Soviet Union.

    258. Wes says:

I said Bush admitted the intelligence was a lie, Bitter. He did that when he said, “I wish the intelligence had been better.”

Not sorry to burst your bubble, but that drunk-driving idiot you worship is a jingoistic liar who created an excuse to invade an already defeated country and get hundreds of thousands of people killed.

    259. Tgca says:

Bitter seems to forget that Colin Powell admitted during the Obama years that the intelligence was not as initially presented to him by the Intelligence community. His chief of staff, a retired colonel, also admitted that he did not want to be part of the hoax it turned into.

The sources of info for the invasion that folks keep harping was relied upon was mainly from Iraqi defectors who had legitimate grudges with Saddam, and was heavily influenced by Israel as well. This same info was shared with France, Great Britain, and Germany. It’s not like they all had their own independent sources of evidence.

The US Intelligence community was not that naive on these sources. Now I suspect GWB was not as worldly and sophisticated in foreign affairs and intelligence as Cheney and Rumsfeld and could be more easily swayed into a war.

As Powell himself later said, the decision to go to war was made up regardless of what happened at the UN Security Council presentations. He also acknowledged he was asked to do a presentation because he had credibility and that Cheney’s team prepared the presentation he gave.

Contradicting evidence from Hans Blix and team, that later turned out to be accurate, refuted the US evidence, especially the aerial footage but GWB refused to listen. He wanted his war!

Powell’s chief of staff later gave his analysis at a congressional hearing later on for the motivation of the war and stated this war was about the US getting influence in the area.

It was not about Saddam being a threat. We know that now. There is more evidence of this then there is of other major historical wars but some refuse to open their eyes and see it.

I think historians will look back on this and include it was NEVER about a security threat to the US.

    260. Tgca says:

Just because Pootin may yearn for the good old days does not mean it’s a serious threat.

Cuba is a communist country that yearns for regional influence and dominance in the west, is there a serious concern of that?

The world is full of dictators that wish to expand their foothold but until it becomes a serious threat, we have other more pressing issues to focus upon.

    261. Tgca says:

I think it’s funny that some at HHR deny the existence of Deep State influences in the US with ample evidence of gubbermint agencies and people of influence and power manipulating events are the same ones claiming Pootin is trying to rebuild Mother Russia with ABSOLUTELY no evidence or intelligence supporting that determination.

While Americans continue to support U.S. military and financial aid to the Ukraine, they are not buying Biden’s attempt to blame Putin for high gas prices.

Six in 10 favor the United States continuing to provide weapons (61%) and financial aid (59%) to Ukraine. That is unchanged since March when a similar number said the U.S. should “be doing more” to help in the fight.

Voters are also not buying White House attempts to tie current gas prices to the war. By an 18-point margin, they say Presiden Joe Biden’s policies are more responsible for prices at the pump than Russian President Vladimir Putin’s actions in Ukraine (50-32%).”

“problem just walk out on the balcony here, walk out, put that double-barrelled shotgun & fire”

Biden does this all the time. He introduces an action verb like walk out, then after a prepositional phrase and an irrelevant word like ‘here’ he has to re-state the verb to keep his mind on track. Then the thought introduced by the subsequent verb ‘put’ never makes clear where the double-barrelled shotgun was supposed to be put. So his incoherent thoughts advance to the firing of two blasts.

      Classic Biden.

    309. jason says:

“Russian President Vladimir Putin said publicly for the first time on Thursday that his invasion of Ukraine is about expanding Russian territory, which Western leaders have long maintained.

To date, Putin has justified the invasion by saying, baselessly, that he’s preventing Ukraine and what he described as a neo-Nazi government from committing genocide against ethnic Russians. He has also said that NATO’s eastward expansion threatens Russia’s national security.

Putin, speaking with students on Thursday after visiting an exhibition about Peter the Great, Russia’s first emperor credited with making the country a major power in the early 18th century, compared himself to the ruler and said they were both destined to expand Russia.

“Clearly, it fell to our lot to return and reinforce as well,” he said. “And if we operate on the premise that these basic values constitute the basis of our existence, we will certainly succeed in achieving our goals.”

In addition to seizing territory in a 21-year war with Sweden in the late 17th century, Peter captured the territory of Azov from Crimean Tatars, who were aligned with Turkey, in 1696, and he seized territory on the Caspian Sea from Persia in 1723.

“On the face of it, he was at war with Sweden taking something away from it,” Putin said of Peter. “He was returning and reinforcing, that is what he was doing.”

Putin’s attempts to expand Russian territory started long before his invasion of Ukraine on February 24.

Putin invaded Georgia in 2008 and still backs pro-Kremlin factions there. In 2014, Russia annexed the Crimean Peninsula from Ukraine and invaded the Donbas region of eastern Ukraine via proxies that same year.”

Not to mention Belarus, which is now a Russian satellite.

    327. SanDiegoCitizen says:

The new weaponry is already having an impact in the Ukraine:

“In fact, the effect was almost immediate: following receipt, the Ukrainian military soon began to hit military targets located at a fairly significant distance. It had rarely managed to do this prior to the arrival of the modern heavy Western weapons. Until recently, most Ukrainian artillery could strike at a distance only of up to 30-40 km. The longest-range weapon – the Tochka-U missile complex – had a range of up to 120 km. However, Ukraine had only up to two dozen Tochka-U complexes in service.

But in the last week alone, in the Luhansk and Donetsk regions Ukraine’s armed forces destroyed two Russian army ammunition depots in occupied Zymohirya, Perevalsk, Snizhne, Popasna, and Donetsk. These cities are approximately 50 km from the front line and sources suggest they were destroyed using HIMARS. Moreover, according to military observers, Ukraine used HIMARS against the Russian air base in the occupied city of Melitopol in the Zaporizhzhia region. The United States’ provision of just four units of this equipment has therefore already enabled the destruction of a substantial part of Russian army logistics in its rear.

The war’s southern front too has witnessed increased tactical success for the Ukrainian army. Kyiv’s forces have recently launched several missile strikes on drilling platforms in the Black Sea captured by Russia in 2014. Russi had placed electronic warfare stations on these platforms, enabling it to control the air space in parts of the Odesa region. This equipment has most likely now been destroyed, and the Russians will no longer be able to carry on their illegal extraction of Ukrainian gas from the platforms. A few days later, Ukrainian troops launched artillery and missile strikes on the Russian garrison on Zmiiny (Snake) Island. Shortly afterwards, the Russian troops were forced to leave the island”

The Russian Defense Ministry claimed territorial gains every day from the start of the war but has not claimed any new territory or ground force movements since completing the encirclement of Lysychansk on July 3. However, Russian forces still conducted limited and unsuccessful ground assaults across all axes on July 6. Such attempts are consistent with a Russian operational pause, which does not imply or require the complete cessation of active hostilities”

The issue for Herchel Walker isn’t having children outside of marriage. The issue is Walker knew he had children outside of marriage and chose to hide that fact, even from his own staff, while running for a high-profile US Senate seat.

Did Walker really believe the children he had outside of marriage wouldn’t become known during the course of the campaign? Did anyone ever tell him what opposition research was all about?

This reminds me of GWB’s DUI in 2000. That disclosure just five days before election day reduced what would have been a 2 to 3 point national win to a virtual tie. The lack of transparency on a minor issue punctured the image GWB had sought to create during the campaign.

No one who will vote on election day will care about the children Walker’s had outside of marriage, but more than a few will care that he wasn’t truthful about the issue when he had a chance to be. In a race that may be decided by a point or two, that could be the difference.

If he such a “prohibitive favorite”, why didn’t he run.

      – Absolutely, McCormick would’ve been stronger than OZ in the general. OZ was a phony who held liberal positions in the past, was pro-Fauci, and pro-mask wearing. The reason he’s struggling in the polls right now to a guy who had a stroke is the base of the party hasn’t unified behind him. Dingbat Donnie simply endorsed Oz because he’d been on TV like he had been.

As for Ducey, he absolutely would have been the prohibitive favorite in the general election. Unfortunately, your boy MAGA daddy spent the last year trashing Ducey because he wouldn’t overturn the election in the state. That loser Trump probably would have made sure Ducey couldn’t win the primary, but you probably think that’s awesome.

I know you view everything through orange tinted glasses, but Trump saddled the party with turd candidates in several races. And let’s not forget, this isn’t the first time he’s done so. Yet, MAGA daddy, in a desperate attempt to remain relevant with primary voters, saddled the party with at least two duds (Walker and Oz), may yet saddle the party with two others (Masters and Greitens), and completely took a pickup chance off the board in NH. Either the Republican Party is focused on winning races, or placating the desires of Trump. We’re somewhere in between right now. Think back to 60 years ago compared to today.
      ################################################
60 years ago, we did NOT have:
–school backpack program where kids are given a free backpack

–and they fill the backpack with school supplies and food to take home for the weekend ALL YEAR LONG

–free textbooks (60 years ago we either has to buy school books, or rent them)

–12,000 student failing grades changed to passing in D.C.
      (as happened last year)

      –free cell phones

–students given laptops by the schools and having computers and computer classes in school

      –reduced or free school breakfasts

–90% of students making the honor roll

–most of the teachers having master’s degrees

      –expanded school counselling services

–greatly expanded school health programs (school nurses, etc.)

–community police resources officers stationed in schools

–explosion of number of school extra-curricular clubs and organizations that are available for students

–explosion of number of sports being offered for students in schools today

–explosion of number of tutoring programs, after- school programs to help student academically during school year

      –head start and pre-K programs

–summer programs to help students academically

      –watered down curriculum

      –relaxed grading scales

      –school business parners

      ********************************************
And yet TODAY, we have significantly HIGHER % of students who:

      –are obese
–way behind in reading level where they should be
      –fail to meet academic standards
–are behind their grade level in reading
–are behind their grade in math
–are behind their grade level in science
–have to take bone head English or math in college
      –have significant psychological problems
–have less than adequate social skills
–have less than adequate basic job skills
–do not know who the U.S. won its independence from, how many stars on the U.S. flag, or how many stripes, etc.

      ************************************************
But we now have all sorts of school hours and days devoted for such things as:
–“take your son/daughter to work” day
–college day for all juniors and seniors to take busses to visit with college recruiters
      –blood drives in high school
–voter registration drive in high school
–Save the planet day, gay pride day, American Indian day, Hispanic day, Asian-American day, Klingon day, etc.
–take you child to protest George Floyd’s death, SCOTUS ruling on abortion, climate change, or whatever is the big social upset of the day
–which bathroom do you want to use issues
–what pronoun do you want to be called today
–what gender are you in 3rd grade and are you homosexual, bi-sexual, pan-sexual, cis gendered, etc.
–teaching why Caucasians (especially males) should feel guilty and be held accountable for society’s past failures

Are you really this stupid or just dishonest? I did not say that Putin is trying to expand Russia because of a speech. I said it because Putin ordered the invasion of a sovereign country that used to be part of the Soviet Union, seized its territory and murdered civilians. That is not a speech. It is a war.

Asa for depression, I was wrong. However, I routinely conduct depositions of psychiatrists who testify that it is a condition that is routinely over-diagnosed by doctors who misinterpret the DSM-V and ignore the medical criteria. The U.S./NATO involvement in the Ukraine has resulted in a stronger alliance against China. If we had backed down in the Ukraine, it would have emboldened China. Appeasement never works as a strategy:

“When NATO put forward a new blueprint for the future last month, the alliance did not mince words on China.

China, NATO declared, was a systemic “challenge,” calling out the country for the first time in its mission statement. The country’s policies were “coercive,” its cyberoperations “malicious” and its rhetoric “confrontational.” Together with Russia, Beijing was striving to “subvert the rules-based international order,” the alliance said — efforts that “run counter to our values and interests.”

For Beijing, the forceful declaration by NATO reinforced a sense that China is being encircled by hostile powers bent on hobbling the country’s ascent. Adding to that concern, the NATO summit included, also for the first time, the leaders of four Asia-Pacific countries: South Korea, Japan, Australia and New Zealand.”

437: UMD poll, July 5th– support for Ukraine remains strong:

“Even though the Biden administration has opposed imposing a no-fly zone (NFZ) over Ukraine, there is a growing public support for doing so, despite the concern about confrontation with Russia. Support for NFZ grew from 56% in March to 59% in May and 65% June. This trend transcended party lines, with a growing number of Republicans (52% to 54% to 57%) and Democrats (61% to 64% to 72%) supporting enforcing a NFZ should the war persist. As we noted in our article in May, an experiment we conducted in the May poll showed that respondents are more reluctant to impose a NFZ when informed of the potential direct conflict with Russia inherent in the act, but are more supportive when there is no mention of a direct connection. The trend could be a result of the public not making a direct connection to confrontation with Russia, possibly coupled with public wish for more decisive NATO support for Ukraine.”

    425. SanDiegoCitizen says:

      439. “Americans are still prepared to support Ukraine even if this means higher energy costs and increased inflation, with an uptick from May, but below the level of support expressed in March. Similarly, 58% expressed preparedness for increased inflation, up from 52% in May but down from 65% in March. Americans’ preparedness for the loss of U.S. troops remains low at 32% but rose back to March levels after a dip in May.”

      1) Tina, have you a source saying McConnell will prevent Grassley from investigating this?

      2) Who runs the Senate right now?

    429. NYCmike says:

So Biden gives an executive order in case (IF) red states do something…

“If extremist governors try to block a woman from traveling from a state that prohibits her from seeking the medical help she needs to a state that provides that care, we will act to protect her bedrock rights,”

So abortion is medical help? help for who? The baby is killed in every abortion.

Its now extremist to want to help a baby live instead of being killed?

But the reality is none of these states were setting up road blocks to prevent a woman from travelling to California to get an abortion.

I’m not sure what you mean there. Do you mean not to exercise or not to create new exercises to help with my fitness goals?

You seriously need to clarify that one.

Dems got investigations via Independent Councils until the House flipped in the 2018 elections.

Until you provide evidence McConnell intends to block any investigation of Biden, I have to assume that’s nothing but another random notion you ran with because Gateway Pundit told you to say it.

I have said from day 1 that Russia does not have the capability of recreating Mother Russia at this point. Their struggles in Ukraine have proven that beyond a doubt.

The fact that Pootin claims he wants or will do something is not credible evidence that he will do it anymore than Iraq claiming it’s capabilities, and as we all know turned out to be bogus.

Russia is now claiming they should also take back Alaska. What is the likelihood of that occurring? Should we also take that seriously at this time and start re-enforcing our Alaskan border?

If we react to every single claim dictators make, we’d be running in circles and spending ourselves into poverty trying to fight a threat that doesn’t really exist.

We should focus ourselves on legitimate threats to our economic stability and security and not rants of dictators trying to impress their supporters.

They are not a group of structurally organized folks with a central location any more than the MSM that operates similarly as a group of like-minded folks with an agenda that support one another both directly and indirectly to harm conservatism.

These folks are well-funded and have high level access and resources to do serious damage to our nation.

    466. Wes says:

I am sure Perdue would beat Stacey Abrams and he is a much better candidate than spineless wonder Kemp.

Um, Jason, Perdue lost to Jon Ossoff after running away from a debate. He followed that up by getting a quarter of the vote against Kemp despite being a highly touted challenger.

There’s precious little evidence to say Perdue would be a better candidate against Abrams than Kemp.

    467. jason says:

They are not a group of structurally organized folks with a central location any more than the MSM that operates similarly as a group of like-minded folks with an agenda that support one another both directly and indirectly to harm conservatism.”

So there is no “Deep State”. “Like minded” folks is not a Deep State.

There are a lot of products of our extreme left wing academia in government, because 8 years of Clinton and 8 years of Obama and 2 years of Biden have consequences.

So in general I don’t disagree with any characterization that makes clear there is no “Deep State” organization.

And what does “well funded” mean? If it means they get paid to be far leftists I call that BS. Nobody is paying for any Deep State, because there is no Deep State.

      I don’t disagree.

But in any case I didn’t make that claim. I merely said I think he would (also) beat Abrams and that I personally much prefer him than spineless wonder Kemp.

Since Kemp won the primary by such a large margin, it shows people want to give him another term, so you may well be right he will win by a bigger margin than Perdue would have.

    475. Wes says:

He may be your preferred candidate, Jason, but that doesn’t mean he’s the better candidate.

That’d be like claiming Christine O’Donnell was a better candidate than Mike Castle because Mikey preferred her. Of course since O’Donnell achieved Mikey’s goal of helping Schumer get another permanent lapdog in the Senate, maybe she was the better candidate for his desired endgame.

I think Perdue is the better candidate because I much prefer him to spineless wonder Kemp. I think he was a good senator and would make an equally good governor.

We have seen Zuckerberg fund voting manipulation.

We have seen many others funded to push an agenda.

Deep State is not what you claim it to be as a structured organization with location and titles. No one ever claimed that.

Just like with Perdue and Kemp, I give each candidate credit or blame for their performance.

COD was a terrible general election candidate, which I have stated many times. I give credit to her for knowing the primary electorate at that time.

I blame Mike Castle for losing his primary contest and acting the same way COD said she would act if she had lost the primary.

Customs and Border Patrol Commissioner: “It was inevitable, certainly not surprising” that Joe Biden, Kamala Harris and the media falsely smeared the border agents involved in the Whipping Hoax.

As I mentioned in my earlier post Greitens could very well lose a general election to Lucus Kunce. Don’t laugh. Schmitt is probably your sure fire bet in the general although Hartzler would probably be fine as well. Maybe I’m just paranoid because of the Todd Akin fiasco but we all saw it happen once before. I don’t want to see another red seat thrown away. Enduring that last six year term of Claire McCaskill was not pleasant. This Kunce character is dangerous against a flawed candidate even in a state like Missouri.

      Bitterlaw,

Did you throw a party for your kids every time they brushed their teeth before bed?

Geez Louise, they are supposed to break up trafficking rings!

Why don’t you deal directly with the post that Tina linked to?

Personally, I would look for verification that this happened, and not rely solely on Gateway Pundit. That is a legitimate question.

But to just pooh-pooh it because the FBI, with its billion$$$ actually did some real work…..WTF?

Push for limited government and HOLD THE GOVERNMENT ACCOUNTABLE!

That is just about the main principle of a “conservative Republican”, or it was supposed to be, in my view. Why give them a pass when they waste time going after individual citizens with little to no power except for First Amendment inspired Freedom of Speech??

      – I don’t think there’s any way Schmitt or Hartzler could lose. They’re both scandal free “generic” Republicans running in a Republican state in a what will be a great year for Republicans.

Greitens feels like a Richard Mourdock in the making. He would embrace and lean into every controversy. Any person stupid enough to count Steve Bannon as a close advisor has no business being anywhere near the Senate. That and Greitens was an Obama voter who was recruited to run as a Democrat for the House in 2010.

    502. jason says:

Of course, Jason fraud is siding with Greitens on these accusations.”

      Sure am.

That being said, I hope either Schmitt or Harztler win the nomination because they are far less controversial.

Of course the difference is I will support Greitens, Schmitt or Hartzler in the GE while Amoral Scumbag will support the Democrat.

    503. jason says:

Any person stupid enough to count Steve Bannon as a close advisor”

Like Trump was stupid to have him as a close advisor and win in 2016?

Poor Amoral Scumbag still can’t get over it.

    504. jason says:

That and Greitens was an Obama voter who was recruited to run as a Democrat for the House in 2010.”

      LOL

Anybody want to dispute Amoral Scumbag voted for Obama twice and Biden once?

    505. jason says:

Geez Louise, they are supposed to break up trafficking rings!”

Damn, NYC finally admits the 35,000 employees of the FBI don’t just exist to “persecute conservative Republicans”.

Wow, I think this is a serious breakthrough.

Maybe we should throw a party!

HHR with its regular 10 posters could give Musk just the platform he needs.

      Can this really be possible?

    517. Bitterlaw says:

Since Tina wants the FBI disbanded with no plan to replace its vital roles of fighting crime and terrorism, I guess so.

    518. Bitterlaw says:

511 Sorry for your loss, Wes. It is difficult when you start losing people you just expected to always be there. My dad’s mind was clouded at the end but he still had clear moments. He said that it was sad to outlive almost all of the family and friends he had ever known. Maybe it was a blessing that he seemed to spend more time in the past than the present as the dementia because more pronounced.

MAGA daddy announced he won’t be endorsing Vicki Hartzler.

It says a lot about a scumbag like Trump that he ruled out a devout social conservative like Hartzler before he ruled out a sexual deviant and abuser like Greitens.

“In one particular text sent to his brother Beau’s widow, Hallie Biden, who he was scandalously dating at the time, Hunter went off on the now first lady.

“F–k my stepmother for always being as much of a selfish silly entitled c–t as you,” he wrote to Hallie as their brief relationship deteriorated.

He also admitted to calling his stepmom a “f–king moron, a vindictive moron” in a separate text exchange with his uncle, James Biden, just days later.

“And you do know the drunkest I’ve ever been is still smarter than you could ever even comprehend and you’re a shut [sic] grammar teacher that wouldn’t survive one class in a ivy graduate program,” Hunter said in the text.

“So go f–k yourself Jill let’s all agree I don’t like you anymore than you like me.”

Taiwanese civilians in tactical gear and replica weapons take part in an urban warfare workshop in New Taipei City Sam Yeh AFP

Dressed in military camouflage with an assault rifle at the ready, “Prof” Yeh peers from behind a vehicle in a parking lot outside Taipei, scanning his surroundings and waiting for a signal to advance.

Yeh actually works in marketing, and his weapon is a replica — but he is spending the weekend attending an urban warfare workshop to prepare for what he sees as the very real threat of a Chinese invasion.

“The Russia-Ukraine war is a big reason why I came to this workshop,” 47-year-old Yeh, whose call sign during training is “Prof”, tells AFP during a break between sessions.”

Of course I don’t know how they’ll all fit in with that oversized brain crowding them.
