Vance Leads by 3% in OH, Johnson Trails By 7% in WI, Rubio Leads By 11% in FL

In the state of Ohio, JD Vance has moved ahead of Tim Ryan in the latest poll from Emerson College.

    US SENATE – OHIO (Emerson)
    JD Vance (R) 45%
    Tim Ryan (D) 42%

    GOVERNOR – OHIO (Emerson)
    Mike DeWine (R-inc) 49%
    Nan Whaley (D) 33%

    PRESIDENT – OHIO (Emerson)
    Donald Trump (R) 53%
    Joe Biden (D-inc) 39%

This poll was done August 15-16 among 925 likely voters. The news is not as great for Republicans in Wisconsin, especially at the US Senate level, where Ron Johnson trails by 7% in a new poll from Marquette Law School.

    US SENATE – WISCONSIN (MLS)
    Mandela Barnes (D) 51%
    Ron Johnson (R-inc) 44%

    GOVERNOR – WISCONSIN (MLS)
    Tony Evers (D-inc) 45%
    Tim Michels (R) 43%

This poll was done August 10-15 among 811 registered voters. Finally, we have a new poll from Center Street PAC that completely contradicts the poll we saw earlier this week from the University of North Florida that claimed Marco Rubio was trailing Val Demings. This new poll has Marco Rubio up by double digits.

    US SENATE – FLORIDA (CSP)
    Marco Rubio (R-inc) 52%
    Val Demings (D) 41%

This poll was done August 12-14 among 610 likely voters. So we have two polls supposedly polling the same population with end dates just two days apart with a margin difference of almost 15 percentage points (+11 for Rubio versus +4 for Demings).

It’s been about six months since Russia invaded the Ukraine, and despite predictions of doom — Ukraine is still fighting. From a Ukrainian:

“When global media were anticipating Ukraine’s dark fate in February, did many expect the spectacular failure of Russia’s blitzkrieg? Or that the Russian military would turn out to be very far from the forever-victorious space marine force it portrayed itself in its propaganda for decades?

Or that Russia would lose a fleet’s flagship to a nation that has no navy? Or that it would be celebrating a 10-kilometer advance, following months of fierce hostilities, as a Stalingrad-scale victory?

Or that Ukraine, using advanced Western-provided rocket systems, would pose a severe danger to Russia’s presence in Kherson, isolating its military units from supplies across the Dnipro River?

If there’s one thing that this war has taught us, it’s the following: stay away from snap judgment and bold prophecies.

Especially when it comes to “Ukraine is now doomed because of X and Y.”

Because sometimes invisible magic happens — and Russian military checkpoints in Irpin, a couple of kilometers away from my house in Kyiv, turn into abandoned heaps of sandbags over just one night.

Six months ago, just about a week before the full-scale invasion, I felt obliged to say a word or two about this “Ukraine is doomed” that was overshadowing the world media.

Ukraine’s fall was not predestined because we had our military and our people willing to fight.”

A few miles separated Russia from the quick overthrow of the Ukrainian govt in the initial onslaught on Kiev.

Since then the Ukrainians have managed to slow the Russian advance in the East and South at the cost of thousands of square miles of territory, tens of thousands of killed, raped, tortured and exiled, millions displaced, destroyed cities, towns and infrastructure, and a destroyed economy. And at the cost of over a $100 billion in aid both military and humanitarian from the rest of the world.

If you look at the map and the stats, Ukraine is not winning. It has avoided total defeat, which is different. The war is being fought 100% on Ukraine’s territory, that is not “winning”.

The only way Ukraine can continue to survive is through continued massive aid from the US and other countries.

The Putin Appeasers and sycophants know this, that is why they want Ukraine cut off. It’s the only way they can be sure Putin wins.

Would October the month before the election just look too blatantly political? ….or do they even care how it looks given the fact that they were brazen enough to raid a former President and political opponent in the first place. On the other hand would they go ahead and just let it rip in an effort to make the pre-election headlines about Trump instead of inflation, the border, and crime.

Hard to say. My guess is that they are privately polling to see how it plays. They won’t do it pre-election IF their polling shows it fires up Republican turnout.

Regardless of the timing it’s coming and it should scare the hell out of everyone. In any event, the Biden administration can count on crickets from McConnell, Thune, McCarthy, and the rest of the Republican DC establishment.

      Totally agree.

Believe I was right back in February regarding the Ukraine.

      “February 26, 2022 at 7:47 pm
As am sure others will recall, prior to Russian attack on the Ukraine I said:
      1.) The Ukrainians will fight;
2.) This could blow up in Putin’s face.

Both appear to be happening. Putin is facing fierce resistance from the Ukrainians, and his invasion force estimated at about 180,000 may not be sufficient to overpower a nation the size of Texas with a population of over 40 million. He apparently thought his special forces could immediately take control of the Ukraine, and they have been decimated in many places.”

Ukraine was faced with total annihilation, and despite the odds, fought back. Putin expected to easily occupy Kyiv and complete the takeover off all the Ukraine in a matter of weeks. Now slowly the momentum is beginning to move in favor of the Ukraine, with the addition of NATO weapons. Wisely, Ukraine has not yet made any major counterattacks, but instead is first concentrating on taking out Russian logistics — ammunition dumps, command posts, aircraft and naval bases in Crimea, and other military installations.

Over and under on when the Trump indictment will come down from the Biden Justice Dept?

Not if it happens but when. Before the midterms or after?

      – A federal indictment of Trump (if there ever is one) won’t be issued before election day. The DoJ policy is not issue indictments that might have political ramifications within 60 days of an election. You may say they won’t follow their own guidelines and that may be true, but that what their guidelines say.

An indictment from the state of Georgia, whether for Giuliani or Trump, may come before election day, though. That DA’s office is not bound by DoJ’s guidelines. It does seem Giuliani might be indicted in the near future since he was given a target letter.

I’m dubious Trump will be indicted over the documents recovered by the FBI search. It may be rolled into a broader investigation that includes the grand jury investigating J6, but that’s speculation. If he is indicted on the matter that resulted in the FBI search last week, I would expect it could come sometime in mid-November, but probably not until the first few months of 2023.

      – Why should they get out in front of a story when they don’t have all of the facts?

It’s one thing for Trump allied Congressmen to make professions of loyalty to Trump on FoxNews since they run in gerrymandered districts, but Senators have to worry about a much broader electorate.

The idea Senate leaders are going to come running to defend a guy who may or may not have squirreled away sensitive documents unlawfully (I don’t know) seems way off base. Trump’s word has rarely proven trustworthy so going out on a limb for him may be detrimental.

The race to win control of the Senate already looks grim thanks to some very poor candidates and making statements early in a possible media frenzy that don’t pan out may be what finishes off Republican chances if information comes to light before election day that some of Trump’s comments were false.

Getting out in front of this story really only has downsides for Senate Republicans.

I think it should be always be legal and available up to 20 weeks.

That is my personal view, but I am ok with states regulating abortion as per the SCOTUS decision. However, I think states that allow abortions beyond 20 weeks are wrong.

I think it is funny the “pro-lifers” wanted to revoke Roe v. Wade so it could go back to the states but are now whining that some of the states have few or no restrictions.

You got what you wanted. State control. Now GFY.

In other news, the Gay Monkey Pox cases are still exploding.

Increase from 11,200 to 13,500 last 5 days which is a 20% increase.

NY and CA making up nearly 40% of US cases still.

LA, SF, and SD are in top 4 areas of CA with LA leading by far.

Caleefawnyuh may surpass NY soon as they are now only like 300 reported cases behind NY.

Southern Caleefawnyuh outpaces the rest of the state with the most cases, over 54% where San Francisco Bay Area has about 38%.

Doesn’t surprise me since the spread of the Gay Monkey Pox seems to be through events and venues of large gatherings and those are more likely to occur in southern part of the state as locals and travelers attend those events. However, with the Folsom Street Fair coming up in October which also attracts a lot of the Gay Monkey Pox spreaders, San Francisco may catch up.

However, I do recall posters claiming it’s ok to deny services to people who are not COVID vaccinated.

I do recall posters claiming they believe ABORTION should be legal even in cases outside rape, incest, and for health reasons.

      See the difference?

    34. Tgca says:

I think ABORTION is pure evil.

A mother choosing ABORTION chooses to MURDER her unborn child in the most vicious way. It’s that simple! Doesn’t matter the reason why, she chose to MURDER her child.

By 20 weeks, the fetus is significantly formed and resembles a human life. The earliest cases of recorded survival outside the womb are 21 weeks with some of those fetuses growing into a normal adulthood.

With technology and medical advances, the early survival rate will increase rendering the need for most ABORTIONs unnecessary once significant fetal development has occurred.

Stats show the overwhelmingly vast majority of ABORTIONS are for convenience and NOT cases of rape or medical emergencies.

Women generally choose ABORTIONS as an act of selfishness and over half of women having ABORTIONS have had more than one ABORTION.

      That’s both irresponsible and disgraceful!

A mother who has an ABORTION of convenience is no better than a child rapist and murderer.

    39. Bitterlaw says:

The reason Ukraine has been able to fight Russia to a standstill is it has incredibly brave people and leaders fighting for survival with military aid from the US and NATO. If US aid stops, Ukraine will be defeated. If Ukraine is defeated, Putin wins. It is really not a difficult concept to grasp.

I have not called anybody a toady or appeaser. But anybody willing to accept the defeat of Ukraine is on the same side as Putin. Sorry. The real world sucks.

    40. Tgca says:

      36

I would add that the reason I believe ABORTION is so much more accepted is because of indoctrination and devaluing of life taught from the youngest ages.

Most people today have no concept of the sanctity of life unless it unexpectedly hits them at home. Most think WW2 or The Holocaust are just stories and events you make movies about. They have no concept of the pain and horrific suffering that actually occurred.

I believe that’s why ABORTION today is no big deal to many where at one time in society it was considered a horrible and horrific event.

I think everyone considering ABORTION should watch a video and see what happens to the fetus. Watched it ripped apart and burned with saline. Watch it struggle in shock and pain.

If one watch that and then still choose ABORTION, it tells us what kind of person they are, and perhaps with ABORTION they should also consider sterilization.

MCCONNELL in KY asked for his midterm projections: “I think there’s probably a greater likelihood the House flips than the Senate. Senate races are just different, they’re statewide, candidate quality has a lot to do with the outcome.”

      – McConnell wants candidates who can win general elections. Trump wants to be “King of Republican primary voters”. That difference is what drove many of the Senate primaries this year.

There were races where McConnell’s goal and Trump desires overlapped (Ted Budd, Katie Britt, Adam Laxalt), but in many of the competitive races that wasn’t the case.

Maybe the environment will drag Oz, Walker, and Masters across the finish line, but the environment didn’t save COD, Buck, or Angle in 2010. Candidate quality matters. We learned that the hard way in 2010 and 2012 and may be about to learn it again.

With good choices, Republicans should have been looking at 54 seats and the possibility of going well over 60 seats after 2024. Now, we may look back at 2022 as one of the biggest missed opportunities in a long time.

    43. Robbie says:

My view is if the GOP loses senate seats, he should be replaced as the GOP leader. Rick Scott also needs to step down from his role. He’s God awful and should not be in a position of power to recruit candidates. He might be the worst at this that I recall in decades. Zzzzzzzzz Another lame joke. I never belonged to a country club and I bought my house in 2002.

Only Democrats belong to country clubs here.

    130. Tgca says:

State schools can be elitist too! Can we say Berkeley please. UCLA? There are many more.

I did not serve because I prefer to be honest with myself and would not openly tolerate and face discrimination because of something outside my control. Some gay men choose to lie and deceive and to hide in fear. That’s their choice! Many have done it routinely in business and their personal lives as well. I know of a man that stay married for nearly 3 decades and then divorced his supportive and doting wife once gay marriage became legal in 2015. Hardly someone to follow by example in my view.

You CLAIM you tried to serve. Uh huh. But instead you went to college to abuse, lie to, and mistreat women for your own pleasures.

One doesn’t need to have kids to recognize radical leftists. I think the world be a better place if the leftist kids were not born in the 1st place but you’re stuck now. Too bad! …for the rest of us too because now we have another radical leftist Hellbent on destroying the US.

My fish would NEVER support Bernie Sanders!

You raised children who follow Bernie Sanders, a socialist/communist Hellbent on destroying America.

…and we’re supposed to believe the Sanders sycophants don’t follow him in supporting BLM and Antifa either? Yeah right!

    131. DW says:

Seeing how well it went with saying inflation is not real, here are the next three new Dem talking points:

      1) There were no Covid deaths while Biden was on watch nationally, and there were no Covid deaths in states governed by Democratic Party governors. Everyone is alive and well thanks to Democrats!

      2) The Afghanistan withdraw left no one behind and all USA owned equipment of value was brought home, and a peaceful Democratic government was left in place.

      3) Hunter Biden has never owned a laptop and in fact lives in a Quaker community where he devotes his time to teaching Bible lessons and helping the poor.

All the fact-checkers agree that these three statements are True!

    132. Tgca says:

      133

Did Bitter just admit he applied for military deferrals 5 times? He’s tied with Dick Cheney I see.

    133. Tgca says:

      130

I don’t disagree training as a pilot is dangerous work. Ask Robbie. Crop dusting is very dangerous work indeed.

My point was GWB was given preferential treatment not available to most. His record of arrests and poor grades were usually disqualifying for such an assignment.

It doesn’t make him a bad person but I am merely pointing out Bitter’s hypocrisy questioning Gordy’s deferment but whole-heartedly supporting Bush, Cheney, and other GOPers who either got deferrals or cushy assignments not available to most.

    134. Bitterlaw says:

I applied for waivers to be ALLOWED TO JOIN THE MILITARY. There was no need for a deferral for 2 reasons – there was no draft at the time AND diabetics were banned from enlisting because of vicious discrimination that continues today.

    135. DW says:

More new “FACT” talking points about to be released:

      4) Biden is actually in his prime of life, and is NOT a tottering old fool who shakes hands with the air.

      5) Kamala Harris is a master communicator with a keen grasp of the issues and she has the skill needed to articulate policy position.

      6) Biden’s presidency is so successful that after 8 full years, voters will demand the constitution be changed to allow for a third Biden term.

Again, all the fact-checkers agree these are truths. To say otherwise means YOU are a ‘Truth Denier!”

    136. Bitterlaw says:

I don’t know how my children became fair game. A decent sad little clown would stop these attacks on people he does not know. There used to be a line here. But my children are better people than the sad little clown. Their universities are hardly elitist.

    137. jason says:

I don’t disagree training as a pilot is dangerous work”

Training to be a fighter pilot isn’t dangerous?

Amoral Scumbag is an airline pilot.

Bitter is right, you are a clown.

    138. Tgca says:

      142

You keep criticizing or mocking others about their beliefs, politics, and service when your own family is guilty of the same or worse so all is fair game among adults.

Whether it’s your adult children, family, neighbors, or fellow country club members, it’s all fair game when it comes to politics.

Being a Dem is one thing but being a socialist/communist like Bernie Sanders or one of his followers is another. I don’t see much difference in say a Bernie Sanders or David Duke. Extreme radicals whose beliefs and ideas are destructive to our country.

    139. Tgca says:

      143

      I noticed I’m a clown when I don’t agree with you.

Bitter is a country club elitist or woke supporter whether he agrees with you or not I noticed as well.

I’d rather be a clown than a country club elitist or woke supporter.

    140. Bitterlaw says:

But I have never belonged to a country club or been a woke supporter. You are a clown and embrace it.

    141. jason says:

      I noticed I’m a clown when I don’t agree with you.”

No, you are ALWAYS a clown.

      Sometimes I agree with you.

      Hope it is clear now.

      GFY.

    142. Tgca says:

      143

…and I think you misread my comment. I said I did not disagree about pilot training being dangerous meaning I agree it is dangerous.

      Comprende!

That being said, being a pilot in the military has nothing to do with character or politics.

Adam Kinzinger was a pilot and actually flew missions in Iraq and Afghanistan. That’s a much more dangerous place than Texas me thinks…at least for now but who knows with the open border

GWB can’t hold a candle to Kinzinger’s military service!

…but Kinzinger is a traitor to conservatives and has aligned with the radical left so it proves my point that career and character don’t necessarily go in step together.

    143. Tgca says:

      146

Many here seem to disagree with you.

      Embrace it!

    144. Bitterlaw says:

The sad little clown thinks he is protecting all of you from me. How noble.

The sad little clown who claims to be a conservative certainly adheres to some radical beliefs:

      White is a pejorative term.

      Romney is a racist.

Landlords are evil. Right at home with Occupy Wall Street talking points.

The government has an obligation to provide housing for working people.

    145. Tgca says:

      147

Yes, I noticed when you’re right is when you agree with me, otherwise…

    146. Tgca says:

      150

I’m sure all things your Bernie Sanders, BLM, Antifa supporting daughter agrees with.

      Thanks for playing.

    147. Tgca says:

I’m not protecting anyone here. Just taking sides as is customary at HHR.

You believe it is fair game to criticize and mock Gordy for information he shared on his beliefs, politics, and service. Fine!

I think it’s fair game to criticize and mock you for information you shared on your radical leftist adult child that you shared was a Bernie Sanders supporter.

Sanders supports socialism, communism, BLM and Antifa actions so it’s only fair to criticize his supporters who tend to share those same beliefs.

It’s not like I’m mocking your entourage of 13 year-olds. I’ll wait until they reach adulthood and join other radical leftists and country club elitists in Radnor before I criticize and mock them.

      Deal with it!

    148. Tgca says:

Ok. Time to get some delicious tofu for lunch.

      Au revoir.

    149. jason says:

Yes, I noticed when you’re right is when you agree with me, otherwise…”

      This is true.

You are wrong when you disagree with me and right when you do.

      Eureka!!

    150. jason says:

Sanders supports socialism, communism, BLM and Antifa actions so it’s only fair to criticize his supporters who tend to share those same beliefs.”

      This is true.

But Bitter is not a supporter of any of that.

      Of course, you know that.

    151. jason says:

I think it is hilarious Tgca attacks others for being “socialists” when he actually believes homeowners shouldn’t be able to rent out their properties at market prices.

    152. Gordon Allen says:

Bitter. In the 3 more lengthy posts by me your protector censored( moderated) I included the fact that I also received a high lottery number.
When I include considerable data refuting your claims I get moderated. Repeatedly.
I have to work around him.

    153. Gordon Allen says:

Did I add there are 2 insufferable phonies here? Guess who?
I know green eyed jealousy and fear when I see it,and obviously I live in your head. Good

    154. DW says:

      Bernie Sanders?

Biden says that Sanders is a right-wing capitalist who hates anything socialist.

If you disagree with this, then you are a Sanders-denier, and go against all the fact-checkers and the Ministry of truth!

    155. Tgca says:

      157

That’s NEVER been my position and the ABORTION supporter knows it. Provide one post where I said that please. We know Engwish is not your 1st language and you have reading comprehension issues.

I also think it’s funny how you CLAIM to be a conservative but you support both ILLEGAL IMMIGRATION and ABORTION, two of the most important issues REAL conservatives stand against.

    156. jason says:

When I include considerable data refuting your claims I get moderated. Repeatedly.”

      LOL

So stupid doesn’t even know how to post here and actually thinks someone is monitoring/censoring his posts.

    157. Tgca says:

      156

I didn’t say Bitter supports Bernie.

Do you need to take an ESL class update?

I said it’s what his daughter supports and Bitter is fine with that calling her an “independent thinker.”

Bitter informed us his adult daughter is a Bernie Sanders supporters awhile back but denies she’s an extremist but mocks others for their political views and beliefs and who they support. By definition, a Bernie Sanders supporter is a radical leftist extremist.

You can apologize to me for another post you misread today.

      TYVM.

    158. jason says:

you support both ILLEGAL IMMIGRATION and ABORTION,”

      I don’t support either one.

But you DO support rent control (you call it something else, same thing) and you do support big government intervention in the housing market so people who can’t afford to be living in certain areas get subsidized to live there.

So you lie about what I “support” and lie about what you support.

      A double liar.

    159. jason says:

I didn’t say Bitter supports Bernie.”

      Actually, you did, lying again.

“Sanders supports socialism, communism, BLM and Antifa actions so it’s only fair to criticize his supporters who tend to share those same beliefs.”

You were talking about Bitter, so you did call him a Bernie supporer.

    160. jason says:

I said it’s what his daughter supports and Bitter is fine with ”

      Zzzzzz….

You are calling Bitter a Bernie supporter.

      Stop lying.

    161. Tgca says:

      164

You support laws protecting both ABORTION and ILLEGAL IMMIGRATION.

Most here know that and you’ve been called on it in the past.

I criticized the eviction of people and called for gubbermint intervention to help those displaced and not just ignore the problem.

You called for building more housing which does nothing for the poor because the vast majority of new housing is going for market prices to those that can’t afford it.

You still support ABORTION and ILLEGAL IMMIGRATION.

      Own it!

    162. Tgca says:

      166

“Bernie” has been posted 14 times in this thread so far. The posts by me are in the following posts. Not one of those posts calls Bitter a Bernie supporter. EVERY single post is in reference to his adult daughter supporting Bernie.

      119, 136, 144, 152, 153, 163

Everyone here can read and see you are LYING!

    163. Tgca says:

      169. Wes

Don’t waste out time with silly politics.

We’re too busy debating Jadon’s reading comprehension and Bitter for his hypocrisy of trying to ridicule others for things his own adult children are guilty of.

    164. Wes says:

I know, Tg. Once I started scrolling up the thread, I seriously contemplated warming a bag of popcorn.

    165. Bitterlaw says:

Again, my daughter expressly does not support BLM or Antifa. She hates Biden and preferred Sanders for being honest about what he believes rather than a liar like Biden pretending to be moderate.

Funny how the sad little clown wants nuance but won’t allow it in others. If preferring a candidate means you accept everything they believe is the standard, we are all screwed. By that standard, I would have to be an isolationist who supports the trade policies of the Democrats and unions because I supported Trump in 2 elections.

    166. Bitterlaw says:

My daughter and I disagree often. She also like movies from S. Korea and Iceland. I don’t.

    167. Wes says:

So is she a fan of Old Boy (2003), Bitter?

    168. Bitterlaw says:

I will ask, Wes. She likes films from many countries – Turkey, Israel, India, Italy, etc.

    169. DW says:

Trafalgar has Laxalt beating Cortez Masto 47/44 in NV

    170. EML says:

Still don’t believe the polls, good or bad for the GOP. Pollsters had their hayday around 2007. Been on the decline ever since. That said, Laxalt wins by at least 5.
