GOP Senate Candidates Trail in AZ and WI, Tied in NC

We received new polls for the races in Arizona and Wisconsin yesterday that shows Republican Blake Masters trailing badly in his bid to pick up a seat for Republicans while Republican incumbent Rob Johnson is also trailing in his bid to keep a seat in Republican hands.

US SENATE – ARIZONA (Fox News)
    Mark Kelly (D-inc) 50%
    Blake Masters (R) 42%

    Mandela Barnes (D) 50%
    Ron Johnson (R-inc) 46%

These polls were done August 12-16 among registered voters. Meanwhile, another US Senate seat Republican need to hang onto is in North Carolina and right now a new poll from Cygnal shows a dead-head tie to see who wins Thom Tillis’s seat.

    Cherie Beasley (D) 42%
    Ted Budd (R) 42%

This poll was done August 13-15 among 615 likely voters.

As we all know, Republicans need to pick up one net seat to gain a majority. You have to wonder how this is even possible when we are seeing in seats they currently have to maintain, they are either trailing or are struggling to be at best even in Pennsylvania, Ohio, North Carolina, and Wisconsin.

He needs to not be in leadership.

    3. Wes says:

      Just a thought, Tina:

Shouldn’t the candidates in these races have some responsibility for things? They are, after all, the people actually running in the races.

    4. Wes says:

According to people at RRH, Republicans have concluded it’d be best to start heavy spending after Labor Day on the assumption that Americans don’t really start paying attention till then.

That seems like a high-risk/high-reward strategy to me.

    5. Tgca says:

Bitter tries to defend his adult daughters support of Bernie Sanders while criticizing and mocking others for their political views, and then he takes issue when you call him in the hypocrisy.

She supports Bernie because he’s honest?

      Ha! Ha!

There’s nothing honest about Bernie being a socialist and communist supporter or his supporters supporting him knowing full aware who he is and what he stands for – the destruction of America as we know it.

Face it! Bitter’s adult daughter is a typical yoot of the Radnor-Philly area which is left and lefter.

    6. Tina says:

Your bff is the top r official

Throwing in the towel like this is beyond idiotic.

Offering no policy proposals like McCarthy is also beyond stupid.

But he is for Ukraine and is silent on the open borders.

    7. Tina says:

Does he wear a ukranian lapel pin?

      He is a walking disaster

Kissed away 2 senate seats because of his stupid no stimulus. Now wants to do more damage

    8. Tina says:

“He’s a child having a temper tantrum. It is completely insane for him to criticize our candidates. He can’t step up and lead, clearly, but we need him to shut up.” — political bigwig to me in conversation today about my article.
Come On, McConnell, Republicans Need You To Step Up And Lead

    9. Tina says:

If he hates the candidates and has no policies to run on he should step aside and stfu.

He is not loon Cheney but acting like her.

    10. jason says:

According to people at RRH, Republicans have concluded it’d be best to start heavy spending after Labor Day on the assumption that Americans don’t really start paying attention till then.

That seems like a high-risk/high-reward strategy to me.”

I agree. You cannot let the opposition define you without countering it because some impressions are hard to dissipate.

Right now Fetterman is trying to define Oz as a carpetbagger who knows nothing about PA so people will forget he is a hard core socialist way too left for PA.

    11. Wes says:

I never said he wasn’t the Senate’s top Republican, Tina. I just asked if the Republicans trailing in these races should receive some of the blame since they are in fact the nominees.

Apparently according to you, only Mitch McConnell is responsible for their running behind their opponents while Biden is unpopular in their states.

You have such a sophomoric view of elections.

    12. Tina says:

That rnc funding strategery seems problematic

    13. jason says:

If McConnell wants to talk about quality in candidates maybe he should talk about Warnock and Fetterman and Kelly and Beasley.

Now THERE are some really low quality candidates.

    14. Tina says:

The top r should not be tossing in the towel. It starts at the top.

Perhaps best if he did not do stat stupid interview.

Or start nationalizing the election like McCarthy is doing.

    15. Tina says:

Most of those candidates he supported. Like walker as an example.

      I just don’t get it.

Not that it even matters here in sf.

    16. jason says:

I don’t disagree with wes that candidates bear responsibility for their situations.

But the Dems really are the ones with the low quality candidates. McConnell has to live with the fact that if he wants to be majority leader, he has to play the hand he was dealt.

    17. Wes says:

I’ll take your non-answer as your saying the Republicans currently trailing in the Senate races are not responsible for their situation while only Mitch McConnell is, Tina.

      So much for personal responsibility.

    18. Wes says:

For the record, I think McConnell was stupid to say Republicans are less likely to win the Senate than the House. If he genuinely believes that, he should say it behind closed doors with no way of having it leak to the public.

Schumer would never make such a declaration even if Dems were looking at another 2014. It’s simply an unforced error.

    19. NYCmike says:

“I’ll take your non-answer as your saying the Republicans currently trailing in the Senate races are not responsible for their situation while only Mitch McConnell is, Tina.”

-I’ll take this comment as Wes having the same reading comprehension skils as jason.

    20. NYCmike says:

Of course, when you only have “skils” you are bound to come up short!

    21. Tgca says:

      19. Wes

I truly believe McConnell is purposely talking down the senate chances because he’s not getting his way in all these races so he could care less because he keeps his leadership role and DC perks either way.

Leaders don’t energize voters by publicly admitting defeat before an election.

If the GOP loses seats, McConnell should step down from his leadership role. Between this and his missteps in 2020 that cost the GOP senate seats, he’s shown he’s no longer up to the job. His time has passed.

Scott should go too. He’s awful in his role of candidate recruitment. The GOP needs someone with influence and personality in that role.

    23. Gordon Allen says:

This wailing of teeth assumes the polls are reasonably accurate.
Barris says they’re not,and are as bad or worse than 2020,and way too Democratic slanted.
I trust Barris’ record more than Wissings analysis.
But Senator Rick Scott has done a terrible job of fund raising. And McConnell is a fool and his agenda is not clear

    24. Wes says:

I disagree, Tg. McConnell had backed candidates he was no fan of in the past. For instance, he went to bat for Rand Paul in 2010 despite preferring the KYSOS at the time.

I tend to think McConnell just sees the current polling and is saying the truth: that Republicans are more likely to flip the House than the Senate.

I don’t agree with his saying that in public or allowing a leak of his comments, but I see no indication from his past McConnell is petty enough to cost himself votes in the Senate because he doesn’t personally like someone.

If anything, he probably was actually taking a shot at Rick Scott for being an incompetent goof as NRSC Chair.

It’s too bad Jerry Moran is up this year. Moran was the kind of workhorse Republicans need in that role back in 2014.

    27. Phil says:

Baris confirmed what Wes has said about NC – namely that no way Budd loses the senate race and that the NCSC will flip to 5-2 Republican,

He said again today that Vance was never behind Ryan and will win in Ohio.

He also said McConnell doesn’t want MAGA candidates winning Senate seats and is happy to sabotage those candidates. Said he wants the Senate Republican establishment types and doesn’t want MAGA candidates in the caucus. Doesn’t want the base running things – wants establishment candidate in charge. I believe him.

    28. Tina says:

What did Baris say about the Nc Supreme,Couet od drats? Looks like they are intervening?

    29. Wes says:

That last part sounds conspiratorial, Phil. We have actual evidence from elections past of McConnell’s supporting candidates in the general election he opposed in the primaries.

I don’t see why he’d be any different now when flipping just one seat will make him Majority Leader again.

    30. Robbie says:

I can’t believe Baris gets the attention he gets here. A total MAGA grifter and huckster.

    31. jason says:

      Et tu, Mitt Romney?

“I’m not going to encourage anyone to run for president. I’ve done that myself, and that’s something I’m not doing again. I don’t know if she really wants to do that. She would not become the nominee if she were to run. I can’t imagine that would occur,” Romney told the Deseret News on Thursday.

Cheney, he said, might run for other purposes but “I’m not in collaboration with that effort.”

    32. jason says:

He just spews out his “grifter huckster” crap based on nothing. I’ve presented the pollster’s record on here time and again and Robbie can’t refute it and never even tries – just glosses over the evidence that’s plainly in front of his face and name calls.

Got another one for you Robbie. He said again today that Lake will absolutely be the next governor of Arizona. Want to scoff at that one? Go ahead. Do it. Go with the Governor Gillum and Senator Nelson polls in Florida MSM polls. Go with the Biden +17 polls in Wisconsin, the McCaskill +3 polls in Mo, the Joe Donnelly final +7 poll in Indiana. Man alive, I could do this all day long but haven’t the time.

But you never seem to find Robbie dish on any of the crappy and historically awful MSM polls that always lean Democratic. Why is that, Robbie? Splain it to me, Lucy.

“Stupid thing for HagFace to lie about. Harriet is such a f&*cking B*&tch.”

-Come on, Paul. It’s one thing to be NVTS, but another to be untruthful.

I am pretty sure, by now, even the Huffington Post would have updated that report about Hageman which would have provided the message she received, which was 2 seconds long and didn’t include the part that Liz Cheney played, which happens a lot with voicemails.

That said, i find it hard to believe that Cheney recorded her concession call, but if she says so I’ll believe her.

“Voters in California would prefer their governor, Gavin Newsom (D), in the 2024 Democratic presidential primary over Vice President Harris, according to a poll from the UC Berkeley Institute of Governmental Studies released on Friday.

The poll, which was co-sponsored by the Los Angeles Times, found that 25 percent of surveyed voters eligible to participate in the state’s Democratic primary consider Newsom their first or second choice if President Biden does not run for reelection. Sen. Bernie Sanders (I-Vt.) and Harris, who served as a senator from California before becoming vice president, come in second with 18 percent each.

People eligible to vote in the state’s Democratic primary are those who are registered as Democrats or have no official party preference.”

    55. SanDiegoCitizen says:

      58. “Newsom is tied with Sanders for voters’ first-choice preference, at 13 percent each, followed by Harris at 10 percent.

The poll shows that about 6 out of 10 voters surveyed do not want Biden to run for reelection, with 46 percent of Democrats and 65 percent of non-partisans opposing it.”

    56. SanDiegoCitizen says:

“A poll from The Economist/YouGov published on Thursday shows that 57 percent of those who identified as Republican now have a very favorable view of the former president.

That’s a notable increase from the same poll the previous week, which showed that 45 percent of Republicans said their view of Trump was very favorable. The former president’s overall favorability with Republicans remained unchanged at 80 percent.”

      – He is a buddy of Steve Bannon. He often appears on Steve Bannon’s repulsive podcast. He constantly pushes a pro-Trump agenda on his Twitter feed. He always promotes the candidates Trump likes and attacks the candidates Trump hates. He pushed made ups stories about Kemp before the primary that never had any basis in reality.

Baris is a grifter and a huckster. If the Trump/MAGA train derails, he loses his sugar daddy.

    62. Robbie says:

Anyone associated with Steve Bannon, a convicted felon, is, by definition, a huckster and a grifter.

    63. Wes says:

That’s a supposition completely undermined by the fact that McConnell has endorsed and campaigned for Rand Paul each time since 2010. I’ll believe McConnell is opposed to Trump-endorsed candidates when I see actual evidence of it. Helping Dr. Oz set a narrative against Fetterman says the exact opposite of that.

Of course Masters might want to gain some traction against Kelly for McConnell to start investing in him.

    64. Bitterlaw says:

Robbie – Do you think you are achieving anything here? I don’t call you names or insult you. I hate Trump as a person but he was vastly superior to Biden as President. Your silence on Biden completely undercuts any credibility you might have had.

McConnell says Republicans won’t take the Senate, so Wes blames it on those looking to push a winning message 24/7, like Trump or Desantis does, or like Reagan did in his day, instead of just telling Mitchie to shut up and speak about Biden, the border and school choice or some such issue that is positive for Republicans.

    69. NYCmike says:

He’s the most accurate pollster out there and it isn’t close.

Who he is friends with? That’s your argument? Are you kidding me? Seriously? When you judge a pollster you look at his performance. End of story. Now, go back to your YouGov polls. Officials said that in March, when Russian President Vladimir Putin’s troops continuously bombarded Chernihiv, a hard-hit city in northern Ukraine, Fedorovych”took his rifle and opened fire.””Heroes among us,” officials said, adding that after Fedorovych fired at the jet with his rifle,”the enemy fighter Su-34 was targeted and destroyed”

A recent video of him attempting to return to the campaign trail was so bad that he scheduled no more events after it. Fetterman ignored his doctor for years, had a massive stroke, and now speaks like he’s been doing crack for the last 30 years. There’s a reason he won’t commit to doing a single debate, and it’s not because he’s just so darn clever.

Never mind that Fetterman is lying to voters when he claims to be a hoodie-wearing everyman from the streets. In reality, he went to Harvard before becoming a professional bum, living off his parents until he was almost 50, and buying a house for $1 from his sister. The guy is a fraud, and the more this campaign drags on, the more apparent that’s going to be.”

Never heard of it. Time to start a new topic.

A large part of the movie Slap Shot was based on events that happened in my area. Rather famously, there was one game between the Broome Dusters and Syracuse Blazers where 10 fighting majors, 6 10-minute misconducts, and 4 game misconducts were handed out in the first period.

My dad was an extra in the crowd for one scene filmed at the Onondaga War Memorial Arena in Syracuse.

My own personal favorite hockey memory came in a Binghamton Rangers vs Rochester Americans game in the early 90s. A fight happened during the warmups. Players circle round their end of the ice, grabbing a puck in the middle and shooting it towards their net. Well, somebody stuck a stick where it shouldn’t have been, then all hell breaks loose. Full on melee in the middle of the ice before the game even started.

Not even the best part. The refs got all the players separated, and were handing out penalties and whatnot. The Amerks goaltender was all by himself, standing at his net, when suddenly infamous Rangers enforcer Tie Domi sprints out from the blue line and attacks the Amerks goaltender, pounding him into oblivion before anyone could catch up to him and stop him. Lost Domi for the game, but now I have a memory to last a lifetime.

I changed my soaked t-shirt like 3 times and was uncontrollably shaking when going to rest room numerous times due to all the water I was drinking. That all seemed to pass and now I’ve got intermittent minor chills, minor sore throat, and good size headache but the fever is low grade now.

I tested last night before bed when I started to feel sick but it was negative so I assumed it was flu or stomach virus but Urgent Care confirmed today and then I did another test when I got home and it was also positive.

I started Ivermectin but the doctor told me they have another more effective treatment to use that usually flushes the virus down within a couple of days so I’ll start that soon.

So far my lungs and oxygen levels are good so I just need to monitor it for a couple of days to ensure I don’t get pneumonia or bronchitis.

Tgca, I hope you make a speedy recovery with no complications.

I need to point out, however, that you have regularly called me a “facist” for supporting an elderly restaurant owner’s request that individuals who have not been vacinated sit in the outdoor patio areas of his restaurant, rather than inside (it is where the majority of people like to sit anyways). Somehow, you claim this request was some sort of major civic rights violation (despite the Supreme Court upholding mandatory vaccinations for diseases like smallpox).

Now you want to hunt down the person who gave you COVID, and suspect it was at a store you visited. According to your view, wasn’t the person who infected you with COVID exercising their civil right? What was the store to do? Even if the store suspected the individual had COVID; preventing the individual from entering in your view would have been a civil rights violation (similar to barring someone because of their race or sexual orientation) As such, I think the only person you can blame for getting COVID is the person you see in the mirror. It is very possible the individual who may have infected you did not even know they had COVID.

Bitter, the Mets tried hard to give the Phillies a 2-2 four game series, but the Phils just wouldn’t hear of it.

Not much else the Mets could do after starting a rookie for his debut, and not pulling him until he had given up 7 earned runs.

    165. Bitterlaw says:

The Mets are a much better team this season. I hate them. I hate their fans. All I can hope for is a black cat running across their dugout in the World Series.

    166. DW says:

176 – something always happens to the Mets Bitter, so I am not planning any World Series celebrations.

My guess is after a stellar year, their closer will fall apart and end the season, like in 2015.

What I don’t get about yesterday’s game is the Phillies pitcher throws a high and tight curveball to Mark Cahna, and he knocks it out of the yard to tie the game at 7, then the next time he’s up its like, hey that pitch should have worked, lets throw it to him again, and boom a second homer to win it.

    167. DW says:

And for what its worth Bitter, if the Phillies get the wild-card and I think they will, and they advance to the World Series, I would root for them as a fan of the National League. I still wish we didn’t have the DH, but not much I can do about it.

    168. Bitterlaw says:

Pitchers are a strange breed. I was at a concert during the last 2 innings. When I saw the Phillies were up 8-7, I thought the closer (not that they have a real closer) could hold it. That is why I don’t bet on sports.

    169. DW says:

The biggest (pun intended) argument against the DH is that if the National League had started it six years ago, Bartolo Colon would have never homered.

    170. Bitterlaw says:

I hate the DH. I think that the main impact has been lengthening games. I saw a Mets batter yesterday who looked like a 300 pound offensive lineman. I bet he doesn’t even own a glove.

    171. DW says:

Yeah, that guy looks WORSE than Bartolo Colon running around the bases…I don’t care if he can hit at all, its an embarrassment to have a guy on the team who looks more suited for professional wrestling.

    172. Bitterlaw says:

With his speed, he can turn a triple into a single. But the Mets are rolling and if he doesn’t have a heart attack running to first, he may get a WS ring.

    179. jason says:

14 1/2 years is a good run for a dog.

The other extreme is Tgca’s fish which have an average life expectancy of 3 days.

    180. Phil says:

Yes, it was a helluva run….especially for a larger dog. He was diagnosed with cancer and could have gone on longer, but of course we weren’t going to put him through painful treatments at that age. He had a great life with lots of love.

    181. jason says:

    184. Gordon Allen says:

I’m so sorry Phil. When we lost our beloved Maltese Eddie at Age 9 1/2 from Cancer it was an indescribably painful experience. Eddie was the gamest little guy who ever walked this earth. He lasted longer than the vet ever imagined, and we are both certain he did so because he loved his life with us, and didn’t want to leave us because he didn’t want to fail or disappoint us. At the very end we told him he never would leave us.
Our current Toy Poodle Edie in fact was named in memory of Eddie, and our Maltese Ernie. Both are fantastically spoiled( which is the whole point), perhaps even more than Eddie, who we wished we spoiled more.

    185. Wes says:

Thanks for the well wishing, guys. Unfortunately the doctor told me she couldn’t do anything. I had gone in expecting that but hoping for a miracle. It hurts having to do this over and over again. I just wish pets had longer lives. They take a little bit of our hearts every time we have to say goodbye.

    186. Sheeple,Jr. says:

Rasmussen(less) has jumped the shark. Today, he has Biden’s approval at 47%. Three days ago it was 42%.This is Biden’s highest approval in the Ras Poll since 09/06/21.
Has Ras pulled a Drudge and sold its Company?

    187. jason says:

      Sorry wes.

    188. Bitterlaw says:

Sorry about the bad news, Wes.

    189. Phil says:

Very sorry, Wes. I know that wasn’t what you wanted to hear. We don’t have them long and we know the dreaded day has to come. Very tough day.

We adopted our newest dog and were offered a puppy that we felt was perfect. We passed, however, and adopted a six year old from the local shelter instead. Because of his age no one wanted him and he needed a home. Also, even though we won’t have him as long the deal is I’m 70 and my wife is older and not in good health. We felt with a puppy it would very possibly outlive us and we didn’t want to leave it an orphan. Some would laugh at that, but it was a major consideration for us.

    191. Phil says:

      Rasmussen is statistical noise, sheeple.

    192. Sheeple,Jr. says:

I am so sorry for you. I lost my beloved dog, Cuji, in late March. I still cry daily about my loss. The Cuje became part of my soul after 14 years.

    195. EML says:

      New Trafalgar poll is:

      Vance 49.5
      Ryan 44.9

      DeWine 53.8
      Whaley 37.9

    196. Phil says:

Vance will win in Ohio, sheeple.

The vulnerable R seats are Pa and Wisconsin. I think Johnson hangs on. Right now, I believe Republicans have a better than even shot at Nevada unless Dems steal it with ballot their legalized harvesting. Arizona is uphill due to lack of $$. Kelly will outspend Masters 5-1 and Mitch isn’t going to help Masters one bit. Masters isn’t someone McConnell can control, so he’s fine seeing him go down the drain. Walker has a chance in Georgia, but in there McConnell is a definite drag.

    197. Gordon Allen says:

Phil,I actually was pleased with the Arizona poll
1 These polls are skew Dem anyway, but even more in the summer. There were contested primaries in Srizona Ohio, and PA that take awhile to recover from.
If OZ is only 5 down in PA,Masters has a real shot in Arizona.
Does anyone know about New Hampshire? Hassan is not really strong there. Who is the NH GOP candidate?

      Vance never trailed her baris.

      It won’t be close

    199. Tgca says:

So sorry to hear about your pet.

Pets are part of a family and play a crucial part of family life. They have their unique personalities and forge a strong bond with their caretakers, often stronger than bonds among humans.

I was blessed to have a dog that lived a few months into her 18th year so she had a good long life but I still think of her daily though it’s been 3 years since she passed so you’ll know that the grief will subside with time and the fond memories will endure forever.

      God Bless.

    200. Tgca says:

It’s not silly at all! I have made arrangements in my will for my dog and set aside a trust for her care. She is only 10 so she could live another 7 or 8 years if her genes permit. It’s horrible to see pets abandoned to a shelter, especially older ones.

I thought of getting another puppy after my older dog passed but it’s at least a 15 year commitment and I decided against it for now.

I may adopt another older dog though as I periodically check out the local shelters’ sites.

    201. Phil says:

Yeah, as Baris tweeted today Mitch and his establishment friends allowed themselves to be duped once again by their establishment consultants into wasting resources on a race that Baris and the few other credible pollsters could have told them was in the bag. Instead, they chose and are choosing to ignore other winnable races like Nevada, Georgia and Arizona.

The GOP establishment is clueless. Schumer smiles.

    202. Tgca says:

Another setback for DOJ and Garland’s reputation.

    203. Phil says:

Good for you Tgca. The last thing you want is for your precious pet to live out his life in a loveless shelter. Kudos, brother.

    204. Wes says:

Thanks to all of you. It’s been a horrible day.

Tg, you’re doing a great thing for your dog. More owners should be as thoughtful as you about their pets.

Phil and Sheeple, I’m deeply sorry for the loss of your dogs. They clearly had loving owners who cherished all the time you shared with them.

    205. Dylan says:

And McConnell is not up unfortunately until 2026, so he gets to coast through 3 more election cycles trying to sink certain nominees he doesn’t like. And he will be in his mid 80’s then so he may yet decide not to run. No justice. . . .

    206. DW says:

Sorry for your loss Wes, that is very hard to go through.

    207. Dylan says:

Wes–Sorry about your cat. I lost my last remaining cat (age 21) in March. I still come in the house looking for her before I realize “oh yeah, she’s gone”— she was such a part of my household for so long–vaya con gato dios.

    208. Bitterlaw says:

Why would McConnell not want to take the Senate Majority? Think, people.

    209. Tgca says:

So my 5 baby Endlers are now big enough for me to distinguish their gender. It looks like 3 boys and 2 girls. They grew so fast in a few weeks since I noticed them in the tank as mere little specks floating about.

I’ll house them all together in a few weeks with the other Endlers for a total of 10, 6 females and 4 males.

These dudes are horny little buggers and become sexually mature in about 2 months so I could end up with a lot more babies.

      We shall see.

    210. Phil says:

I don’t know, bitter. Why did he hold up the stimulus bill the entire month before the Georgia Senate runoff races knowing losing both races would cost the majority? Did that make sense if he was so interested in being majority leader?

McConnell answers to the establishment Republican donor class…and they are completely out of touch with the new Republican Party voters.

The establishment Republicans desperately want to go back to the days when they were in complete control of the Party. They need to get it through their thick skulls that the Party rank in file isn’t the same as a decade ago. Ask the Bushes and Cheneys how that is working out for them. Ask Pence and Haley who are dead in the water for 2024. They’ll get their donations from the donor class but the only thing the rank in file will give them is the finger. Ask Liz how all that donor $$ worked out for her when the rank in file voters couldn’t stand her.

    211. Bitterlaw says:

Did it make sense for Trump to try to blow up the stimulus bill for more money after he had already expressed agreement with s lower amount? Face it, Phil. This civil war in the GOP only helps Democrats. All Republicans need each other to win.

    212. Gordon Allen says:

TGCA. We also have a Trust for our Edie and Ernie( we don’t consider them pets but family),and Trustees, and Successor Trustees just in case( the new parents).
They just turned 10 and we hope to outlive them, but we’ll also be desolate when they’re gone.
I don’t think they want to survive us though and live w anybody else.

    213. Phil says:

Tell it to Mitch but sadly, he and his establishment types have no use for the kinds of working class voters Trump picked up in 2016. They have no desire to grow the party in that direction. Apparently, the McCain and Romney style losses are preferable to winning. Guys like Paul Ryan didn’t have control of the Republican Party during the age of Trump and they can’t bear it. Bush, Cheney, Romney, Ryan types are losers. This isn’t the year 2000 any longer.

    214. Tina says:

      Mitchie answers to China.

      It is so obvious.

But honestly, if they get a majority, he will only continue to do Biden’s bidding.

Do you think he will touch impeachment?

Maybe a select committee looking into Fraudci?

Ensuring that Biden did not utilize the fib/department of unjustice to go after political opponents?

    215. Tina says:

Baris concurs with this tweet. He indicates that Mitchie and Luntz tenant continue to spend in Ohio because they were duped by “bad polling” the last 3 cycles.

We all knew this to be true. Frankly, I’d say the race was decided when Vance got the nomination in May. Ohio is a red state after all.

GOP’s focus for Senate races needs to be AZ, GA, NV, NH, and PA.

    216. Dylan says:

And it’s not like the establishment GOP had any real powerful showing in 2000/2004. 2000 was a dead heat that Gore easily could have won, and 2004 was an anemic electoral college victory with no expansion of the map. So i am fine if the GOPe gets flushed cause the reality is they havent won a decisive election since 1988′

    217. DW says:

“havent won a decisive election since 1988”

Okay, but even this isn’t honest. Bush 41 won on the platform of giving Reagan a third term.

    218. Tgca says:

…and I thought I was the only one besides rich old widows who provided for their pets via a trust.

Family, not pets. And we’re the parents, not the owners.
They told us to clarify those things.

    220. Gordon Allen says:

Bush won by 2 points over John Kerry,a leftist Democrat from Massachusetts with the personality of a cactus brush. A switch of 60,000 votes in Ohio and it would have been President John Kerry.
We have nominated awful candidates for years, but we generally carried the suburban vote. So much for that.
I believe Trump set us on the right course by going for the working class, and more minority votes. The Establishment is clueless about this need.
The problem w Trump now is he is a personal lightning rod, fairly or not,and turns off too many suburbanites.
We don’t need to carry them like we did,but I think we need someone smoother w a slightly less in your face persona, but with similar approaches.
I fear he has a hard ceiling in the 46-47 range, and we need a mite more.

    221. Chicon says:

It depends where you live. In CA, you refer to it as being a canine guardian, in AL it’s pets, and in China, its food.

Another reason we should treat China as our number one threat!

      Save the dogs!

    223. Tgca says:

I always think of dogs like toddlers that never grow up. They stay like a 3-year old kid forever. Always so happy to see you and willing to please and a joy to be around.

My dog has her own bedroom with a REAL human bed and 6 other doggy beds throughout the house yet she still insists on climbing into my bed at night. She is extremely persistent so I gave up over the years kicking her out of the bed. At least she usually stays on one side. She’s about 40 pounds and medium build so if she stretches out she is quite the bed hog.

I have a friend and her husband who have the same problem with their lab. He sleeps at the bottom of their bed.

Even if I close the bedroom door she pushes it open by pulling down on the handle so I know when I wake up in the morning, she’ll be there.

It’s rather comical that she insists on sleeping in the bed. My other dog was not like that at all.

Also, the Tarkanian I am seeing in the article is a woman, I thought the Tarkanian that had run was a man.

      Did he convert?
